WH0 R U???
Warnings: Professor!Reader, Tara eye-fucking you, and that’s all I believe.
Summary: Tara’s attractive Professor comes to the rescue.
A/N: I’ll be doing a part 2 soon w smut 🥲
part 2
Tumblr media
Several years of school, scholarly work, and teaching experience led you here.
To Blackmore University. You were younger than the average professor, but your dedication and passion for education set you apart.
You were professional and not one to be pushed around. That much was clear when you set foot inside your literature classroom for the first time.
English was always your favorite subject, and you excelled in it throughout your academic journey. So, why wouldn't you pursue a career in teaching English at the university level?
However, for the next few months, you won't be teaching literature. Instead, you'll be filling in for your co-worker Laura, who's away on FML, taking on the role of teaching film study.
While you may not have much experience teaching film, Laura was desperate for someone to cover her classes, and you were willing to help out. She's been nothing but sweet to you. Plus, how hard could it be? You've watched movies before.
When you walked into the classroom on your first day, late in the afternoon, you were greeted by a bunch of drama kids who were honestly confused; you could see it in their faces.
They were expecting Laura, their experienced film study teacher, but instead they got you, someone with little to no teaching experience in film.
"Professor Y/LN?" Jason Carvey, a student from your previous class, asked with a puzzled expression.
"What happened to Laura? We were really looking forward to her class."
You took a deep breath, placing your belongings on the desk at the front of the classroom.
"Unfortunately, Laura had an unexpected personal matter to attend to and won't be able to teach this semester. But don't worry, I may not have much teaching experience in film, but I'll try my best."
You reassured the students, hoping to alleviate their disappointment. "Professor Crane provided me with some materials and resources to help guide us through the semester. Additionally, I've been doing my own research to ensure that we have a fulfilling learning experience in this class."
You give the class a tight-lipped smile before opening your briefcase.
"Well, shall we get started?"
Tara didn't know exactly what it was about you that made her eyes widen and her heart begin racing. Sure, anyone could see you were attractive, young, and obviously confident, but there was something more captivating about your presence.
Was it your voice? Was it how you commanded the room with your words? Or perhaps it was the way you'd lean back against the desk, crossing your built arms as your eyes scanned the room, exuding an air of authority.
Tara found herself drawn to you like a magnet, unable to tear her gaze away. She was intrigued by the air of mystery that surrounded you, wondering what secrets lay behind your confident façade.
As class went on, Tara's dark brown eyes scanned over you like a predator assessing its prey. From your perfectly styled hair to your amazingly kept eyebrows, your enchanting y/e/c eyes, to your sultry lips—don't get her started on your sculpted jawline.
You were a sight to take in, captivating and commanding attention without even trying. You presented yourself with an effortless grace that made it impossible for anyone to look away.
Your white button-up shirt was crisp and tailored, hugging your form in all the right places, and your black slacks were perfectly pressed, accentuating the length and strength of your legs.
Tara's stare flew back up, staring at the bulge in your pants, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment and desire—
"—Tara, is it? What do you think?" Tara quickly snapped out of her momentary distraction, her cheeks still flushed.
She cleared her throat and tried to regain her composure before responding, "Oh, I'm sorry. Could you please repeat the question?"
You smile, showcasing your charming dimples and perfect smile. While Tara was in her trance, you found yourself relaxing into the class's discussion, feeling like you no longer needed to put on your strict professor persona.
You leaned back, crossing your legs. "How do you think directors like Quentin Tarantino push the boundaries of traditional storytelling in their films? Do you believe their unique approaches have a lasting impact on the film industry?"
Tara nods, playing with the pencil that sits in front of her. "Yeah, I think directors like Tarantino definitely push the boundaries of traditional storytelling, especially with their unique approaches that challenge the audience's expectations and keep them engaged. Like Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, for example, and how he used non-linear narrative structure and unconventional use of violence to create a distinct cinematic experience that stands out from the mainstream. Peak cinema at its finest."
You raise an eyebrow, impressed. "You surely know your film." The freckled-faced girl giggles in response, dropping her gaze to her hands.
At the end of the lecture, Tara approaches you with a small smile on her face. You look up from your notes, which Laura had given you, and it also confuses the fuck out of you. With a quirked eyebrow, you meet Tara's gaze, your face softening.
"Oh, Tara. Need something?" Tara hesitates for a moment before speaking. "Actually, I was wondering if you'd accept my late work. Professor Crane gave me extra time to complete it, but I still couldn't finish on time. I understand if you can't, but I thought it was worth asking."
You bite on your lower lip, not noticing how quickly Tara's eyes drop to the action. "Uh, sure." You rip out a piece of paper from your notebook and write down a quick note.
"Here's my number. I lost the login to my email, so this will have to do. Send me your late work, and I'll make sure it gets to Professor Crane. Just make sure to include your name and the assignment details in the text so there's no confusion. I'll do my best to help you out."
Tara's eyes light up with relief as she thanks you profusely. "I really appreciate it, thank you so much." You nod, giving her a tight-lipped smile before focusing back on your notes.
A few days later, you're home alone, eating a bowl of ice cream while you watch the movie Stab. Suddenly, your phone buzzes with a new message. Your eyes fight to tear away from the screen, and you reluctantly pick up your phone to check the message.
+1 (347) 871-1921: wh0 r u???
You squint at the unfamiliar number, puzzled by the message. After a moment of hesitation, you reply.
You: I'm sorry, but I think you have the wrong number. Who are you trying to reach?
+1 (347) 871-1921: profdsser y/ln
You furrow your brow, trying to decipher the cryptic message. It doesn't make any sense to you. Curiosity getting the better of you, you decide to respond one more time. You: I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you're saying. Can you please clarify?
+1 (347) 871-1921: rolling eyes emoji
+1 (347) 871-1921: three ht poreffesor whofilling for ms crane?
Was this Tara? You put down your bowl of ice cream; this had to be Tara. And she had to be drunk. You take a deep breath before responding again.
You: Tara, is that you? Are you okay? It seems like you're drunk.
+1 (347) 871-1921: ummmmmmmmm
+1 (347) 871-1921: busted
You: Tara, I'm really concerned about you. Is everything alright? Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
Tara: iamat the frt house
Tara: canyoucum pik me up, pleas?
You twist your lips, concerned about Tara's well-being and the fact that she is asking for a ride. Surely she had friends with her. You didn't want to leave her stranded, but you also didn't want to be the professor driving their students home from a wild party. However, you take a moment to gather yourself before responding.
You: Of course, Tara. I'll be there to pick you up. Just send me the address, and I'll be on my way.
Tara has started sharing their location with you.
You see the location pop up on your phone, quickly checking the estimated time of arrival, and mentally prepare yourself to pick up your drunk student.

Tara Carpenter x Male Reader?
Funny enough, I was never a big Horror Fan so the Scream series went under my radar. Conveniently enough I decided to watch the latest one and I gotta say not too bad.
Tumblr media
Trust
Takes years to form, can be broken in one moment.
After a short but memorable service in the Army, you were able to take an honorable discharge after barely a year, after searching a Home you saved your squad from a makeshift IED. It Left a few scars, but that was the last of the physical damage, mental damage can never truly be measured and heal fully, but you’re managing. Hearing the Murders of Woodsboro, and Tara surviving thankfully.
You and Tara had been friends since moving to Woodsboro years ago, just kids at the time but there was something really different about her, you couldn’t put your finger on it but she always lit up the room, and specifically took your breath away. Leaving for Basic Training, you never got a chance to admit it, but you knew once you returned it was the first thing to do on your bucket list.
So when you were discharged, Blackmore University was a nobrainer to attend. But it was only downhill after that, the Killings return, and it seemed to return just as you did.
It was all too much of a coincidence for anyone else to ignore. So they did the only sensible thing.
You were standing in the middle of the apartment, unsure of what to do. You were essentially surrounded by Tara, Sam, Chad, and Ethan. “I don’t understand..” you said, your eyes tracing along the eyes staring at you. “You think.. it’s me?” You ask. And Chad stepped up first.
“We heard what happened at Woodsboro, it just, takes someone pretty skilled to do that stuff..” he said, Chad had an attitude that he didn’t want to believe it, but a capable man with a knife is pretty tough. You looked over to everyone else, Quinn seems indifferent, Sam was reluctant to speak and Tara couldn’t look you in the eye.
“Tara, Tara look at me…” you pleaded, Teary eyed she slowly looks up to meet your gaze.
“You really think I could do this? I came back here for you, why would I…” you slowly trail off, silent as you truly were at a loss.
“I don’t want to believe it..” she said, “but.. it just all looks bad..” She admits, and that truly broke your heart, the one person you wanted to believe you, before you could say anything, Ethan walks over putting his arm around Tara to try to soothe her. Ethan always had a slimy attitude, and you never really felt, safe around him. But seeing him do that to Tara made your skin crawl. Something about this, about all of this, was way off.
“(Y/n), Quinn’s dead, we have to stop this before more people die; if it isn’t you then the police are gonna release you.” Sam explains, and they wheel an office chair with arms over for you to sit. Seeing how distressed Tara was, you very reluctantly sat down on it, and allowed them to bind your arms to the chair. Tapping your foot restlessly, you eyed Ethan. “Feel safer now?” You said obviously with sarcasm, and Ethan give this look. Of disappointment.
“Look I know service does a lot to the brain.” He started, and you realized just what he’s about to do.
“No you fucking don’t..” you cut him off sternly and harshly, knowing his plan to blame your PTSD and use it to label someone as unstable. Ethan gives you another look, as if he’s hiding a smile.
“Let’s give him some fresh air at least, would be better for him.” Ethan walks over and calmly pushes you to the balcony, “it’s for your own good.” He mutters a bit abruptly, and walks back to the others, you can’t hear what they’re saying but Tara eyes you a few times. You wanted to plead and beg for her to listen to you, but it would have been for nothing, she’s already convinced it was you. Your train of thought was cut off by footsteps around you, mostly above, you hear them and look up to see someone heading down, it was too dark to make out who it was, but once you saw the flash of steel with their knife you instantly knew.
“Guys! Guys!” You shook and kicked to get their attention, they all looked over as you fought to break free. You screamed for help, It was too late, heading down the fire escape, Ghostface made their appearance, grabbing your legs they lifted you up and over the balcony, you felt the instant dizzying sensation of being tossed and your head slammed hard against the lower balcony rail, it all went dark after that but you tumbled against more rails and slammed on a hard sheet metal roof and slid off onto the ground.
Somehow, you still lived. Opening your eyes slowly you see the hard New York ground and the wheels of a dumpster, using what strength you had you were able to stand up, seems the chair broke most of your fall, but still causing cuts and bruises and probably a cracked rib or two. Using the dumpster you prop yourself up and reach into your pocket with your bloody hands to your cracked IPhone, it was near impossible to make any calls, but one app did catch your eye. Find my IPhone. Tapping on Tara’s name you spot her location, a old theatre. Tearing off the tape on your wrists you look around for anything to defend yourself, all you see is a sharp end of plastic from the fallen chair. Snatching it you make you plan.
You stand up, feeling a hot burning pain in your leg, specifically your ankle which probably has a torn ligament or shattered bone. You push the pain down and limp your way to the theatre. Pushing the door open with your bloody palms you limped in, to a sight you least expected. You watched Ethan terrorize Tara, who looks ready to fall off a ledge, Sam barely holding on as Quinn, who never was dead approaches, and Detective Bailey, aiming a gun at them all. It was all a ploy to kill you and lessen the numbers. Ethan’s words “for your own good” kept running in your head, he set you up to get killed. All that military training began to pay off, you crouched with a bad limp and had to crawl to avoid making too much noise, you crept up behind Bailey and didn’t hesitate. You took the sharp plastic and rammed it into the side of his neck with force. Using his other hand he tries to hold his neck to keep the blood loss. You reached and gripped his hand hard, forcing him to Aim at Quinn and crushing his tigger finger. A bullet flies and almost hits Quinn, Sam looks up to see you and you continue to force him to pull the trigger until one bullet gets lodged right in the head of Quinn. She drops dead and so does Bailey. You stood there, silent as Ethan turns to see you. You didn’t care why he did it, you didn’t care to even ask.
“Get Tara up.” You gave Sam her order and she took the change to yank her sister up while you handled Eathan. He danced the knife around his hands, waiting for you make a move but you knew better. You kept calm and locked in. Ethan thrashed at you to land a hit but you kept calm, keeping your distance and avoiding close cuts. You watch in go for a stab, you open your arm, he goes past it and you lock his arm under yours, with one swift jerk up you snapped his arm, you cocked back and began to hammer his face in, punch after punch. Ethan stumbles around and with one judo throw you slammed him into a table, exhausted from the ass beating you promptly put on him, he lies there, laughing.
“You don’t deserve her, I always wanted to stick something in her… and she picks you, a fuckin freak who cries when fireworks go off..” Ethan spoke with venom though his bloody teeth. You looked at him, disgusted.
“Cry me a river.. and fuckin drown in it.” You grabbed him, dragged his head to the edge of the table and lifted up your arm and slammed your elbow right into his eyesocket, his neck snaps back with a crunch, as he lays there, dead. (Y/n) slumps down, exhausted. After dispatching three serial killers like John Wick he finally breathes as the nightmare is over.
The FBI and Police arrive, taking statements and doing some investigating and body clean up. You were getting the cuts and bruises patched up, and the ankle looked at.
“Hairline fracture. Gonna need some time for it to heal but you’ll be walking again.” The EMT gave a warm smile to you and went to tend to Sam. You leaned your head back to finally rest, you felt a presence approach, he could immediately tell it was Tara.
“…What do you want?” You said, you tilt your heard back forward and look at her. She looked good, even if she was getting murdered half an hour ago, still so.. beautiful. “Can We.. can we talk?” She said, almost in a whisper. You scoot over the ambulance seat to let her sit down.
“I’m… so sorry I didn’t believe you. And you almost got killed for it..” she bit her bottom lip to keep from crying, as angry as you were, she got baited into it, you put your arm around her.
“I wish you trusted me but I understand why you didn’t, let’s just, relax first.” You felt her lean into your arm, content with how things are finally.
“Yeah.” She closes her eyes to take in the moment, and you finally let this nightmare end.

Tara Carpenter
how've you been since we last spoke?

can we take this outside?
how've you been since we last spoke?
Pronouns: He/Him/His, Male!Reader
Love that when Melissa and Jenna leave they're suddenly more than happy to pay Neve what she's worth. Smh.
Tumblr media
You absentmindedly listened to the girl dressed up as a Nurse from Silent Hill babble and whine on and on about her classes and sorority sisters, occasionally reaching out to stabilize her when she stumbled over her heels. You'd long replaced the alcohol in her cup with water - not that she'd even noticed in her inebriated state - and wearily watched her until your friend could swoop in and finally take her roommate back home.
Peering over your shoulder, you searched for your friend until you found the familiar Kara Zor-El you'd watched her excitedly work on for weeks. Lucy still looked deep in conversation with her ex-girlfriend, irritation beginning to seep into her features the longer she spent talking with Anika. She'd seemingly had enough and rolled her eyes, turning her back to Anika and stomping her way back to you.
"Seems like that went well, huh?" You chuckled, a soft hiss leaving you right after when she slapped your forearm. Lucy scowled, grumbling under her breath as she took her roommate's cup and tossed the contents into the sink. Her roommate began whining about it but her protests and groaning went in one ear and out the other.
"I can't wait to see her little girlfriend's face when she gets dumped too. I mean, what type of nickname is 'Mindy', anyway? For Melinda? Go with Mel or Linda like every other sane person." Lucy huffed, shoving her hand in her purse and searching around for her keys. The small grin on your face immediately dropped and you straightened up, looking back in the direction of Anika and, sure enough, spotting Mindy Meeks-Martin staring right back at you wide-eyed.
"Oh, fuck." You murmured. The blonde beside you glanced up at you questioningly, her hand still in her purse and shuffling around the various makeup sticks, folded papers, mints, and gum packets. If only you'd listened to your gut and driven to the party instead of hitching a ride with them. "Could you hurry up?"
"I'm looking, (Y/N). What's the big deal?" Lucy questioned, lifting her purse closer to her face and squinting through the dim lighting of the kitchen. Her roommate had taken to leaning on the counter, her head leaned back against the fridge, and her eyes beginning to flutter close. Part of you wanted to snatch the purse from Lucy's hands and search for the damn keys yourself but you resorted to tapping your foot impatiently.
By the time you heard the familiar jingle of her charm clinking with her keys, a hand had already landed on your wrist and squeezed lightly. Rolling your lips into your mouth and inhaling deeply through your nose, you released it in a heavy sigh and turned around to face your ex, Tara Carpenter. She stared up at you, her big doe eyes widening with surprise and her maroon-colored lips surprisingly spreading into a wide smile. She hadn't changed in the slightest, despite everything she'd gone through back in Woodsboro.
"Found it!" Lucy thrusted her keys up into the air with a victory laugh that quickly fell short when she noticed Tara. Her brows furrowed and she tilted her head, her gaze flickering between you and the brunette.
"Wait for me in the car." You told her, and after a beat of hesitation, she nodded and wrapped her arm around her roommate's waist before making their way through the sea of students. You watched them disappear into the crowd and tugged your wrist free from Tara's hold, offering the shorter girl a forced smile.
"Can we take this outside?" She asked over the music and you reluctantly nodded, allowing her to take your hand into hers and lead you through the frat house. Tara stepped out into the backyard, briefly eyeing the people skinny-dipping in the pool before she turned around to face you again.
"So, uh... how've you been since we last spoke?"
"Shitty considering I almost died."
"Yeah, fair. I... I don't know why I asked." You winced, raising your hand to rub the back of your neck and ease the tension forming there. Seeing Tara again after everything only brought up past feelings you'd rather long forget about, as well as trickles of guilt. Tara pursed her lips, crossed her arms over her chest and cleared her throat, lifting her hand to toy with her necklaces.
"You didn't call. Or text. Or anything. It was all over the news and my ex-boyfriend who I dated for almost three years never once bothered reaching out to check on me." Tara's nails lightly dug into her forearm as she spoke, a frown forming on her face. "I waited. I-I waited to hear from you, (Y/N). And you never called."
"What'd you want me to do, Tara? Call and be like 'sorry the girl you dumped me for right before my graduation tried killing you and your buddies'? I didn't even know if you or Sam or any of them wanted to hear from me. They were always your friends, not mine. Hell, I bet they didn't know I was coming to Blackmore until now. I bet you didn't even know."
"I..." Tara trailed off, her bitterness that'd briefly passed over her features fading. She swallowed and nodded, her gaze dropping down onto the ground. "I knew you were coming to New York. I just... I didn't think you'd be coming here. I honestly... I thought that maybe we'd cross paths eventually but not at a party in a frat house of all places."
Sighing softly, you let your hand fall limp at your side. "For what it's worth I'm glad you're okay, Tara. I'm sorry you lost Wes and Liv. And... I hope we can be friends again, Tara."

I don't want to walk anymore alone
Tara Carpenter x Male Reader
Request- Tara Carpenter x male!reader where y/n was stranded on an island for 4 years when he was 12 years old. He had to survive by himself and his parents died. On the island there were mercenaries and y/n had to kill to survive. He came home when he was 16 years old, he came home with scars on his body caused when he was tortured. As well as a bow he used during the island. In the beginning, Tara always kept quiet and never spoke to y/n unless it was necessary.
In the third week of college their professor asked them to do a project in pairs and because they sat next to each other they were paired.
Tumblr media
You couldn't sleep last night and you barely sleep. You sat up on your bed and sighed, then you look at the time.
“It will be a long day” You mumbled.
You have to get ready for class and you take a shower first. After a while of getting ready, you noticed that you have time to get breakfast. You head to a small cafe shop and you are standing in line, thinking about what to buy.
“You are three dollars short,” the worker said.
“Crap, I thought I had enough” She sighed.
You recognized the vote and it's Tara from your class.
“I will pay for it,” You said.
She turns around and she recognized you.
“Oh, hey Y/n. You don't have to pay for it” Tara said.
“I don't mind and you don't have to pay me back,” You said.
“Thank you,” Tara said.
You ordered your coffee and muffin, you paid for everything. You walk out of the cafe shop and you walk to class while drinking your coffee. You sit in class and start to read the chapter and wait for the professor to arrive. Ten minutes later, Tara arrived to class. She sits next to you and you don't say a word. You don't talk to anyone in class and she always sits next to you.
“Hello everyone. I'm going to pair everyone into groups and the grade will be fifty percent toward your final grade. And everyone has to write five pages on the topic. There are no expectations of working alone and the due is three weeks. Tara Carpenter and Y/n will be working together...” The professor said.
Tara looks at you and you don't say a word to her. Class is over and everyone starts to leave and you start to put your books away. Then Tara stands in front of you and you stare at her.
“We should get lunch so we can go over what to do,” Tara said.
“You pick the place,” You said.
You and Tara leave the classroom together. She takes you to a small Italian place and you paid for the food.
“So... I was thinking we write half then we get together and compare notes,” Tara said.
“We should pick the part we would write first,” You said.
“I noticed you don't talk a lot and I never saw you at parties,” Tara said.
“I don't do well at parties,” You said.
You and Tara share food, you mostly listen to her talk. You walk her back to her dorm room and you meet her friends. She noticed you didn't say much, you said bye then walked away.
“Y/n, wait,” Tara said.
“Yes?” You asked.
“Let me get your phone number so we can stay in touch,” Tara said.
“Sure,” You said.
Tara saved your phone number and you did the same. You walk away and head to your dorm room, you changed clothes and start to study. Unexpectedly you get a text from Tara...
Tara- Y/n?
You- yes?
Tara- just making sure you didn't give me a fake phone number
You- I have no reason to lie
Tara- you are something.
You- ok
She didn't text back because she was busy and you didn't text back either. You got tired of studying for long hours and you barely ate, you start to get ready for bed. But it wasn't a peaceful sleep, you have another nightmare. You jumped out of your sleep and you are breathing hard.
----
During class, you and Tara don't talk to each other. Even outside of class, you and Tara barely text each other. But today, you met Tara at the library and start to work on the project.
“Y/n, I'm having a game night at a friend’s place... Maybe you want to come?” Tara said.
“No, thank you. Look, you can write this part but change a few words,” You said.
You give her the book and show her.
“What other part you would write?” Tara asked.
“Why the Roman Empire Collapsed, but I would go into further details,” You said.
“Okay,” Tara said.
You and Tara continued to work together and help each other. You don't talk about yourself and she noticed. After a while, you walk her back to the dorm room. Her dorm room is across campus and it's nighttime.
“Y/n, you don't have to walk me to my dorm room if you don't want to,” Tara said.
“I don't mind. Plus, I heard on the news ghost face is back and I like to walk” You said.
“Thank you,” Tara said.
She is hoping that Ghostface won't hurt you. She goes into her dorm room and you walk to your dorm room.
---
Tara went to meet a friend Mindy.
“I noticed you talking to Y/n,” Mindy said.
“So?” Tara said.
“You don't know, who he is? Tara come on” Mindy said.
“What are you talking about?” Tara asked.
Mindy went on her phone and googled your family. Mindy starts to show Tara, what happened to you many years ago.
“He was on a boat with his parents, but his parents died and nobody knows how exactly they passed away. He was stranded on an Island when he was twelve but he was found until he was sixteen years old. He did interviews but he wouldn't talk about it so much” Mindy said.
“I had no idea, this happened to him,” Tara said.
“Last year, I had a class with him and he didn't speak to anyone. And he doesn't speak about his past or show off. He just goes to class and back to his dorm room. Once I asked him for a pen and gave it to me and that's it” Mindy said.
“He is my partner and we have to write five pages and other stuff. He is nice to me and he only texts me if I have questions on the project” Tara said.
“I'm not surprised. I have never seen another side of him” Mindy said.
“Me too,” Tara said.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✯
You are at Tara’s dorm room studying together.
“Y/n are you free tonight?” Tara asked.
“Yes,” You said.
“Maybe, you would like to come to a party with me?” Tara asked.
“I’m not much of a people person,” You said.
“I know. But maybe, change your routine for a night and you won't be alone, I will be there” Tara said.
“But, other people will be there,” You said.
“Maybe, think about it? I will send you a text later and let me if you will come” Tara smiled.
“Sure,” You said.
You go to know Tara more. You listen to her talk about her favorite movies, but you didn't know any of the movies she was talking about.
“Next time, we will watch the movies together,” Tara said.
“I guess,” You said unsure.
“I know you will like it” Tara smiled.
Later, you leave and Tara is getting ready for the party. She sent you a text and you start to think about what to write back...
Tara- do you want to come to the party with me?
You- ok...? I will go?
Tara - lol. I will take that. I will pick you up in ten minutes.
What I have done, you thought to yourself. You took a quick shower and started to get dressed. Twenty minutes later, you hear a knock at the door and she is smiling at you.
“Ready to go, Y/n?” Tara asked.
“I guess,” You said.
You leave with Tara. She can sense that you are feeling nervous about the party. You and Tara take the train and is packed, and some people have costumes on. Tara noticed Ghostface and she starts to breathe hard and she doesn't want Ghostface to hurt you.
“Tara? Are you okay?” You asked.
She takes out her inhaler and used it.
“I’m... I'm fine, Y/n” Tara said.
She looks around but doesn't see Ghostface anymore.
Once at the party, Tara introduced you to her friends and you don't say anything. You are starting to feel awkward, you walked away and went to get something to drink. You sit on the couch and watch everyone have fun and talk to each other. You don't try to make a friend and you just drink your soda.
Tara noticed you not talking to anyone. She was going to walk toward you but a friend started to speak with her. You get up and head to the door and Tara goes after you.
“Not having fun?” Tara asked.
“No. I feel out of place, but I will wait for you so I can walk you back to your dorm room” You said.
“Y/n, that's so sweet. I don't want to make you wait for me” Tara said.
“I don’t mind. Have fun and I will come later also I saw a pizza shop open” You said.
“You know what, I'm going with you then we can do something else,” Tara said.
“Are you sure? I'm not a fun person” You said.
“Stop doubting yourself and yes I'm sure,” Tara said.
You and Tara left together and walked toward the pizza shop
----
You and Tara have been working hard on the project. You went to her dorm room to study together but you and Tara started to get tired. You end up falling asleep on her bed and she fell asleep next to you. You are having a nightmare, it feels real to you and you're breathing hard. In the dream, you are being chased and you just killed someone.
Tara starts to wake up and she sees that you are having a nightmare. You are mumbling something that she couldn't understand. She starts to shake your arm to wake you up.
“Y/n, wake up. It's only a dream, wake up” Tara said.
You wake up but grabbed her neck, thinking she is the enemy. You feel her fingernails dig deep into your forearm
“Y/n!” Tara yelled.
You snapped out and you noticed what you did. You let go of her and you start to apologize.
“Tara, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you, I am so sorry” You repeated over and over.
You get out of bed, you rushed to put your books away.
“Y/n, wait,” Tara said.
You run out of her dorm room before she got a chance to say something. You are still breathing hard and you went straight to your bedroom. You grabbed the water bottle from the mini fridge, you drink it fast. Your shirt got wet and you are breathing hard.
The next day, you sent a text saying sorry. Everyone on campus is feeling scared because Ghostface killed two people. Ghost face, threaten to kill you and she didn't want that to happen. She starts to keep her distance from you.
Today in class, Tara doesn't sit next to you. For the project, she doesn't answer your texts, and you already finished your part of the project. After class, you follow her
“Tara... Tara we can talk?” You asked.
“Leave me alone!” Tara yelled.
You didn't say anything back and you watched her walk away. Tara is hoping that you don't hate her for yelling at you. You are starting to feel bad for what you did to her.
Tara did keep avoiding you. You are keeping your distance from her and you don't say anything to her when you are in class or in the hallway. But Ghostface has killed more people again and Tara is feeling scared but doesn't show it around her friends.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✯
Tara is walking back to her dorm room from Mindy’s dorm room. She noticed Ghostface walk by fast then she stopped. The lights down the hall went out and Tara is feeling scared. Tara ran towards the exit but Ghostface jumped out of the shadow and grabbed her from behind. Tara screamed then she headbutts Ghostface in the face.
Now Ghostface starts to chase Tara. Ghost Face tackled her to the ground, almost being stabbed in the face. She managed to stop the attack with all her force, she screams for help.
“Fuck you!” Tara yelled.
You left a place where you can practice archery. While walking back to your dorm room, you see Ghostface trying to kill Tara. You rapidly get your bow out and then grabbed the arrow. You hit Ghostface in the shoulder then he falls off Tara. Then Ghostface struggled to get up, you start to walk closer to them.
“Y/n,” Tara said.
The second arrow hit Ghostface in the leg and Ghostface is screaming in pain. Tara is breathing hard and she is having an asthma attack. You had to make a choice go after Ghostface or save Tara. You run towards Tara, then you search through her jacket and take out the inhaler. You put it in her mouth and pressed down then you move it away.
“Ghostface is gone,” You said and you keep looking around.
You help her stand up
“Thank you, Y/n,” Tara said.
“I’m taking you to the hospital,” You said.
“No!” Tara yelled.
“I’m not going to leave you alone,” You said.
“Fine. I will stay with you” Tara said.
“Fine,” You said.
Tara follows you to your dorm room then you locked the door. You and Tara sit together on the bed.
“Why are you out late?” Tara asked.
“I was at a place where I can do archery. Why are you out late?” You said.
“I was with a friend until Ghostface attacked me. I had to keep my distance from you because I didn't want Ghostface to hurt you. I'm sorry, Y/n I didn't want to drag you into my problem” Tara said.
“I understand, what you had to do to survive. What happened that night, I had a nightmare I didn't mean to hurt you. It felt real to me” You said.
“I believe you, Y/n. We both did things we are not proud of, I killed before” Tara said.
“You had to do it to survive, Tara. Same way, when I was on the island, I had to kill so I can live for the next day. We have both been through traumatic moments but we are still here” You said.
“Yeah, but my mine won't leave me alone,” Tara said.
“Are we comparing?” You asked.
“I guess. Our lives will never be the same” Tara said.
“It won't,” You said.
She stares into your eyes, then you felt her lips on yours. You start to kiss her back and she gently put her hand on your neck and she doesn't stop kissing you back.
----
Months later... You and Tara have been dating in secret. Tara doesn't want her sister to find out. You and Tara have been opening up to each other, you told her what really happen on the island and you had to kill people. But Tara didn't judge you or made you feel about your past, and Tara told you everything about Ghostface. You still don't show a lot of emotions and you are somewhat affectionate with your girlfriend.
“Y/n, you shouldn't be ashamed of your scars,” Tara said.
You took off your shirt and you have scars all over your body.
“I feel insecure,” You said.
She put her hand on your chest.
“Babe, don't feel insecure. We both have scars that we wish would go away. But like what you said, we had to survive. I still find you attractive with the scars” Tara said.
You were about to kiss her but someone knocked on the door.
“Tara, open it's me, Sam,” Sam said.
Tara starts to panic.
“Hide!” Tara whispered.
“Where?” You asked.
You were about to go to the bathroom but she said no. But she made you hide under the bed but you forgot your shirt on the bed. Tara opened the door and Sam walked in.
“What’s up?” Tara said.
“I came to check up on you. Is this your shirt?” Sam said.
Sam grabbed the shirt off the bed.
“Yeah, it's my new shirt,” Tara said.
“Well, it's an ugly shirt. Let's go out and eat” Sam said.
“Oh okay, yeah” Tara stuttered.
Sam goes to the bathroom and Tara looks under the bed.
“Sorry, babe. But I will make it up to you, I promise” Tara whispered.
“It’s okay. I will hold that against you and my shirt isn't ugly, my girlfriend bought me that shirt” You whispered
“I have a cute boyfriend. I will text you later” Tara whispered
Sam comes out of the bathroom.
“What are you doing?” Sam asked.
“I-I dropped my phone under the bed, but I got it. Let's go out to eat” Tara said.
“Yeah. But I'm not in the mood for pizza” Sam said.
They leave the room and you heard the door close. You wait a few minutes then get out of under the bed. You put your shirt on and you head back to your dorm room.

“Damn, Tara. Your sister is HOT.”
You had a red solo cup in your hand, which used to be filled to the brim with alcohol, and you’ve might’ve been moderately drunk.
You were crowding Sam and some creep that had laid his hands on Tara and tried to drag her up to his room by force with the full intention of having sex with her.
Like, WHAT THE FUCK? You and Tara were open about your relationship; The two of you couldn’t be seen without the other hanging off their arm.
How could one lack a moral compass that bad to be dragging someone else’s woman into bed with them? No one can expect a man with the coined nickname “Frankie” to be smart, and that was the PG version.
You have been intoxicated out of your mind and you were in no shape or form to be fighting dudes reeking of testosterone, and later, you were going to be pissed off that Chad and Sam had to fight your own battles for you.
It was a good thing Sam showed up to the party when she did. Frankie got what he had coming to him—A good ass whooping, aka, tased in the balls.
It was hot when Sam’s boundless, protective, older sister nature was uncovered. That’s why you declared your admiration for the whole party to hear.
It’s also the primary reason she was the one person you and Tara did not flaunt your relationship to.
Imagine what would happen if Sam Carpenter found out you were dating her younger sister? She was hellbent on keeping Tara safe for every day of her life.
So yeah, your intimate relationship has been kept under wraps from her to spare Tara’s sanity and for your best interest.
Tara’s friends didn’t know either, only Mindy and Anika because their gay radar was too strong and they were smart women, picking up on various hints that you and Tara dropped. Okay, technically, it was not an exclusive relationship.
Though, you had a sneaking suspicion Chad knew. There was a time when he would be seen attached to Tara’s side and making her laugh, but weirdly, he’s been keeping his distance and directing his attention to his roommate, Ethan.
He still made her laugh, and so did the rest of her friends. It would be mean if you took that away from him.
Tara thumped your arm, causing you to wince and mumble an ‘ouch’. She wielded so much strength despite her small body size. “I’m your girlfriend, asshole. Don’t take her side.”
You faked an offended gasp, placing a hand on your chest. “I wasn’t taking her side. I was merely making a suggestive comment on the situation.”
Tara rolled her eyes; Your stupidity went in one ear and out the other. “What are you doing here? I cannot believe you followed me.” She was talking—more like yelling—to Sam.
Your girlfriend, being a defiant young adult, was too agitated to listen to her sister’s explanation and favored dramatic exits.
You were the obedient, caring partner and supported your lover in her many tantrums; hence, you pursued Tara outside as she marched on the street to blow off steam.
Sam blew past you like a blur of wind, hot on her sister’s heels. “Will you stop?!” She demanded.
It wasn’t said rudely. It was a desperate, I-need-to-talk-to-you kind of demand.
Tara did stop, but then she launched into a rant about how Sam’s constant, overbearing supervision was suffocating and prevented her from achieving the future she desired.
You strayed a few feet apart from both of them, watching the back of Sam’s head, because it was best to let the sisters resolve the conflict themselves.
Your girlfriend had this terrible habit of locking away her emotions until they festered and exploded in her face.
Sam fell prey to Tara’s angry outbursts 99.9% of the time. Of course, you weren't immune from the angst either just because the two of you were dating, but on the several occurrences it happened, it was misdirected.
The same applied to her friends. If they expressed any semblance of concern for Tara’s safety, she would berate them, whether that be in public or in private.
She did need to see a therapist, not just about her feelings and impulsivity, but about the post-traumatic stress disorder she cultivated because she was a victim of fucked up killings in Woodsboro.
Yes, you knew. The internet was at the entire world's fingertips and made it extremely tough for you to dodge the information acquired by social media.
You had tried to offer a referral to your therapist, but Tara just refused without considering it.
You felt a presence by your side and watched in your peripheral vision as Chad, Ethan, Mindy, and Anika assembled in a horizontal line next to you and listened to the argument.
“I have been going out with—!” Your eyes expanded to the size of golf balls at the slip-up. Tara stopped mid-sentence, her eyes flicking over to yours nervously.
“You’re dating? Who?” Sam looked around, apprehensive, and urged Tara to confess who her suitor was.
You shook your head in a silent no, and Tara was quick to cover her mistake. “No one! I'm not dating anyone.” She resumed her indignant tone, “Because you won’t let me go."
This was not how you envisioned Sam finding out, blurting out secrets during fights was the absolute worst way to reveal information.
If Sam just caught her sister in a lie, she didn't mention or show it. She was annoyed, but not more than usual. “Tara, If you want to date, you can. I never took that choice away from you. You know my rule, don't sleep with assholes."
“And I'm not! I haven't.” Tara exclaimed. “I never gave that douchebag permission to take me upstairs. I can't believe you think so low of me.”
Sam’s voice raised to the same pitch as Tara’s, which was a striking contrast from her previous, calm demeanor. “If you want to be a crazy party girl, then that's what I'm going to think you are.”
She was losing her patience, it was being stretched thin like a rubber band.
Tara scoffed and called her sister a hypocrite, then mentioned something about letting go.
Both sisters sounded like they were holding back tears, they went back and forth, and the argument was soon tired out.
There was a long night ahead of you.
“I'm sorry about your shirt.” You were apologetic as you leaned against the kitchen counter and watched as Sam scrubbed aggressively at the fabric, which had been stained with Cherry Coke or some other beverage.
“Not your fault.” Sam gave you tight-lipped smile in return, it didn't quite reach her eyes.
She pulled her shirt over her head and tugged it off. You ogled her for a second too long, drummed your fingers against the counter, and left the kitchen area to see your girlfriend since her sister wasn't much of a conversation starter.
“I'm sorry for telling Sam about the party.” Quinn was standing in Tara’s room when you came in. “It's just–she was really upset, and I couldn't help my mouth.”
“It's fine, really.” Tara had a disingenuous smile on her face. It bothered her more than she let on. “She’s all on my ass, like usual.”
Quinn eyed you like a vulture would a carcass when you stepped into her field of view and sat down. “Who is this cutie?”
“Y/n is a friend.” The lie rolled off Tara’s tongue easily. Guess she didn't trust Quinn enough to not blab to Sam about your relationship with her.
“Friend, huh?” Quinn didn't seem like she believed it. She slow-walked to the door. “Okay, Tara’s cute friend. If you ever find yourself pent up from lust and wanting a release, I’m a room away.” She sent a wink in your direction and stalked off.
You turned to Tara once Quinn was out of earshot, blinking in shock. “What the hell was that?”
Tara joined you on the bed. “That was Quinn.” A small, amused smile tugged on her lips. “She’s my ‘sex-positive’ roommate.”
“Huh.” You remarked with zero substance to the conversation. “I could picture that.”
It took Tara a minute to catch on, and she whacked your shoulder in faux annoyance. “Gross! It’s not like that, perv. Get that image out of your mind.”
You laughed, grinning at her aghast expression as you stuck your tongue out. “I’m just playing, baby.”
Tara huffed an exaggerated, annoyed sigh, and repositioned her legs so that she was turned to you. “I know you are, dumbass.”
The mattress dipped as you scooted closer and patted Tara’s thigh, still having that goofy grin plastered on your face. “I want to go out there and get drunk with Chad.”
You were ridiculous, talking about drinking again when barely even sober from the alcohol consumed at the party.
“Or…” Tara dragged out the ‘r’ syllable, leaning forward. “You bring a beer in here and I’ll sit on your face.” She smirked, an eyebrow raised as if she was daring you to refuse.
“Sold.” That was the fastest you ever hustled, power walking—because running in an apartment was crass unless absolutely necessary—from Tara’s room to the living area.
Pilfering two beers from Chad’s hands, you made a beeline to her room. Tara was suppressing a laugh when you returned, you did not waste time, and it was painfully obvious. “Close the door.”
You did as she said before the sentence was finished. Tara was calm and collected, but a closer look at her face said otherwise, more specifically, the anticipatory gleam in her eyes. She was as desperate as you.
You wrapped your arms around her neck and slinked down, your butt finding a seat on her lap. "No more demands."
The beers were held in one hand by the neck of the bottle, and you set them aside because it was inconvenient for your hands.
The bottles lay sideways on the bed, temporarily forgotten.
"None?" Tara feigned disappointment, her gaze following your tongue while you licked your lips.
"No more." You confirmed in a light whisper.
Your lips brushed against hers, not quite touching them because you wanted to keep your girlfriend on her toes.
Tara barely reached the average height, and your current position made it difficult for her to be comfortable.
She squirmed under you, "I said I was going to sit on your face, y/n. I didn't mean you on my lap." You smiled at her halfhearted complaint.
"I thought you planned to get drunk?" She playfully mocked your words from a few minutes ago, now that you had changed your mind.
"Nah. I don't need it because you intoxicate me." Before she could reply to your less-than-remarkable pick-up line, albeit in a judgmental way, you closed the distance and kissed her.
It was a gentle, short, and sweet kiss. Tara wore cherry-flavored lip gloss; the taste of it lingered on your tongue, and her hand found your cheek.
You had a daydream-like appearance when she disconnected her lips from yours, sporting a warm, lazy smile and dilated pupils.
“You’re so cute.” Tara couldn't help but copy your smile, she still looked as composed as ever. “Now get in position before Sam becomes suspicious and invades the privacy of my room.”
“Aye Aye, Captain.” You crawled to the other end of the bed, grabbed one of the beer bottles, and sat against the headboard.
You twisted the cap off and took a swig, a satisfied “Ahh,” leaving your mouth.
Tara observed all this with a roll of her eyes and crawled to you, picking up her beer. “Dork.” She swung her legs around both sides of your arms and sat on your chest.
When both of you were done drinking, you reached over and set the bottles on the nightstand, looking back at Tara with hungry eyes. You asked, “Ready?”
“Hey, T. I think I left my phone— Oh my god!” Quinn covered her eyes with her hand after waltzing into Tara’s room.
Soft moans filled the room along with other lewd sounds, both of you were too preoccupied to hear the door opening, and Quinn’s disgust went unnoticed.
“I’ll come back later!” She shut the door and scurried away. Mumbling under her breath, “Friends, my ass.”
You and Tara freshened up after having the ride of your lives in the bedroom. Tara orgasmed on your tongue, and she didn't want you to leave unsatisfied so she returned the favor, which led to you outstaying your welcome.
Not a drop of mess spilled on her sheets because if she had to clean them, Sam would have immediately found out about you two.
Tara lit a scented candle to rid the smell of sex from her room, and you helped her reorganize the bed.
Mostly everyone was chilling on the couch watching television when Tara walked you out to the living room, your hands intertwined with hers.
“I had a great night.” You said with a big grin while standing outside the apartment door.
It was late, and it was time for you to go home. “Minus the argument you had with your sister, but the party was pretty fun.”
Tara nodded, her face soured a little when Sam was mentioned, and the door was being propped open by her arm. “It was fun.”
“See you soon?” You were already excited at the thought of seeing your girlfriend again and you hadn't even left her place yet.
Tara crossed one leg in front of the other, and a light blush formed on her cheeks. “See you soon.” She affirmed.
She waved as the door was closed in your face. You walked away with a skip in your steps, happily humming the tune to a song you liked.
Unknown to both of you, it would be a while before you saw each other again.
You were at work when your phone chimed with a text alert from Tara. “Hanging out with my sister, Mindy, her girlfriend, and Chad. Wanna come over? I'm losing my mind.”
You smiled at the message, already imagining the group having fun and laughing. You typed back a response, “Wish I could. I am busy with work.”
“It’s cool.” She might’ve said it was cool, but you knew she was upset you couldn’t make it.
Another text alert and Tara had sent you a message. “Chad just nicknamed us the Core Four. Kill me now.”
“That is not happening.” You chastised her over text, laughing quietly to yourself because you could tell how annoyed she was.
Your phone was tucked inside your pants pocket and you opened the door to your place of work, walking inside.
That was the only conversation you had with her on the day following the party. Work was exhausting, you were scheduled for 9-hour shifts a few days a week and you often fell asleep straight after arriving in your dorm.
You had been stuck with a closing shift again, which was why you were spending your time at work instead of sleeping in or making out with your girlfriend.
Speaking of, you really would've liked to be with her. You haven't seen her for only two days, but it felt like an eternity.
A phone rang. It was yours, you dug it out of your pocket and pressed the answer button. Tara was calling. “Babe, hey. How are you?”
“Quinn and Anika were killed.” Tara’s voice was frail over the phone as she informed you about her friends’ deaths.
Your heart relocated to the pit of your stomach, and you immediately dropped what you were doing to comfort her. “I am so sorry. What the fuck happened?”
“Ghostface. He's back. She’s back, whoever the fuck it is.” Her words were sharp enough to cut through the phone.
You had stepped out where there was less noise, and so you could take a break. “It's going to be okay, alright?”
You glanced around the outside of your workplace, the only person there was a coworker dumping trash into the dumpster.
Tara sniffled. “A professor was killed by someone I knew, and he died too. It was on the news after you left our place.”
“I know. I caught the news before I went to bed. It’s unfortunate.” You never knew Jason well enough to care about him, only knowing him as the guy Tara hung out with too often, but it was alarming to learn there was a pattern of serial murders forming.
Someone was talking to her, but it was indiscernible on your end. “Mindy wants to know where you were last night while the murders and shit were taking place.”
You paused, feeling uneasiness wash over your body like a blanket. “I was working, babe.”
“For that long?” Tara sounded skeptical, and as a result of your stubborn attitude, you started to become defensive.
“Yes,” You slouched against the wall adjacent to the back door while pinching the bridge of your nose. “I'm the designated closer and I'm closing again tonight, working the morning shift right now.”
“Alright.” Tara wasn't as engaged in the conversation as she usually would be. She was dismissive and full of doubt about you.
“Y/n? Are you there?” You were deep in thought. Your mind ran a mile a minute as you panicked on the inside.
It wasn’t because Tara was skeptical of you, but because you were assessing the reality of the Ghostface killings.
“I don't think we should be together right now.” It was abrupt, both of you were surprised at your request.
“What? Are you serious?”
“Just until all this blows over.” You knew it was in poor taste and timing, but the possibility of being hunted and killed because you were in a relationship with Tara was far more gut-wrenching.
“Your friends were attacked and that means I’m next.”
“Look,” Tara’s voice turned exasperated as she attempted to sway your fear, “Whoever it is, has to be close to one of us. If we end our relationship, it will not work because they’re already gunning for you and me.”
“What if there's a chance it could work, though?” It was a stupid question—Deep down, you knew she was right.
Tara stated with utmost sincerity, “Y/n, I need you. I can't do this without you.”
You heard the trembling in her voice and your eyes felt misty, but you had to stay strong. “I know you do. This is what's best for us, though. I don't want to put my life at risk.”
“I'm risking mine as we speak, y/n.” Tara was growing frustrated with you. “Mindy—stop.”
“No! Stop! I'm not giving you my ph—” There were shouts of protest from Tara and what sounded like the phone exchanging hands by force.
“Hello?” You cringed, having to pull the phone away because Tara and Mindy were shouting in your ear.
“Y/n,” It was Mindy who answered you. “Terrible idea. I just asked where you were as a formality! You should stick with your girl or you'll regret it when your insides are—”
It sounded like Mindy was swatting away Tara as the latter demanded her phone back.
“Mindy, what are you even saying??” Sometimes, she could be a terrifying scary movie geek.
“One of the most important rules of horror moves: Splitting up is no bueno,” Mindy stressed every word to ensure you understood her point. “Tara—No!”
There was some fussing, and Tara returned to speak to you. She had wrangled her phone back. “Is there anything I can say or do to change your mind?”
You considered her question, biting the inside of your cheek. “No...” Your response was uncertain.
Your stomach churned, even it was sending signals that this was a bad idea, but your mind had been set... somewhat, anyway.
“I feared this was going to happen.” A heavy, dissatisfied sigh from your soon-to-be ex-girlfriend. “I guess this is goodbye, y/n.”
She was about to end the call, but you begged her to wait. “I thought you would fight me more on this.”
“What more can I say? It's your decision.” Her tone implied that she was not in the mood for a discussion anymore. “No one wants to stay when my sister and I have a huge target on our backs. I get it.”
Tara was still there, your Tara, the one you had grown to love. She was dealing with a lot right now.
You could hear your boss yelling at a coworker and asking about your whereabouts from inside your workplace; you needed to conclude this call fast.
“Tara.” You processed her words before you said anything irrational.
“When it gets out that I am innocent,”—enunciating the word ‘when’—I want you to know that I love you, I would never hurt you, and I hope this Ghostface bastard rots.”
Your phone beeped once, indicating that Tara hung up on you.
You scoffed in disbelief, staring in shock at the black screen in your hand.
She didn't say it back.
You headed back inside to do your job before your boss popped a blood vessel and triggered an aneurysm. Working would help distract your mind from the heartbreak that was settling in.
It was 10:30 P.M. and, like you said, you were closing tonight. It was just you, by yourself, in the dimly lit deli.
A detective with a full head of gray hair had stopped by earlier to interrogate you about your alibi and whereabouts during the time window of Jason Carver’s murder and the double homicide of Quinn and Anika.
He didn't say it outright, but you guessed that he was Quinn’s father because he had trouble saying her name without choking.
You were honestly perplexed that he hadn't been removed from the case due to a conflict of interest, but it was easier to answer him and move on.
You were in the back running deli meats through the company-bought slicer in preparation for tomorrow.
The whirring of machinery and the dicing of thick meats were the only sounds that occurred in the building, otherwise, it was eerily quiet.
You were just coming back from a bathroom break, whistling, when you were greeted by an uninvited guest.
Well, it took you embarrassingly long to notice the figure clad in a Ghostface mask and black cloak until you had turned around to investigate a noise, and there they appeared, armed with a knife, ready to kill.
It was a real-life jump scare. Your heart skipped a beat and your soul felt like it evaporated from your body as you screamed so loud, it was deafening.
Ghostface jabbed the knife at you, and you dodged, the knife cutting through the air where your head just was.
The space you were in was small, not fit for running or a two-person scuffle. All you could do was duck and avoid their attacks because you were cornered by this masked killer.
One thing led to another and you were pinned down on the counter, being slid toward the machinery you had just used to slice meats, the rotary blade was menacing as it neared you.
You struggled and released aggravated grunts. In a frenzy, you nailed Ghostface in the groin with an unsynchronized kick.
The cloaked figure sunk to their knees. A groan sounded suspiciously like a male’s, and it did not come from you.
Panting from exertion, you bent your knees to get a closer look while squinting your eyes. “Ethan?”
That name triggered something in the masked assailant, and they lunged at you with surprising momentum.
You were trapped on the counter once more, his grip was unforgiving on your wrist.
The palm of your hand lay flat on the surface, facing upwards. Ghostface stabbed the blade through your palm and the tip of it embedded in the counter, a guttural cry ripped from your throat.
Tears were flowing down your cheeks and you were weeping incoherently.
There was only one person you couldn't stop thinking of. “Please, I want to see Tara again. We have so much to talk about, I can’t leave her like this—Shit!”
You sunk your teeth in your lip as Ghostface ripped the knife from your hand and put an end to your mindless rambling.
You craved a distraction from the pain.
Ghostface leered over you, tilting his head, the screaming mask was especially daunting when you were his next victim.
He lifted the knife stained with crimson, and you screamed for the umpteenth time that night, your throat was becoming raw. “No, no, no!” The weapon was brought down in one swift, stabbing motion.
Outside, sirens blared, cars revved on the street, and the city bustled with life, but your cries of terror went unheard in the darkness of the night.
It was a new day and the weather was fine. Tara hadn't been in contact with you since you suggested a breakup.
She hadn't been in contact with you since you said those three words, and she didn't say them back. Still hasn't.
Tara didn't know what she was waiting for. You loved her irrevocably, and she knew that.
She had always known, starting from the time you guys shared a first kiss and when you gathered the courage to ask her out.
God, she missed you.
Everything you did and said swept her off her feet and into your arms. She wasn't being exactly fair to you. You were right to be frightened about her past, she didn't know why it hurt so much though.
Tara and her sister turned a corner, coming into full view of your place of work—Marceli’s Deli—but something was wrong, police cars and news reporters surrounded the building, and dispatch could be heard faintly over the radio.
Detective Bailey was on the scene, looking forlorn. The two women rushed to him.
Tara blurted out a string of questions before he received a proper greeting. “What happened?! Is y/n okay?”
“Oh,” Detective Bailey winced, lips tugging back in a grimace. “I'm afraid I have some bad news.”
Tara’s devastated expression hardened into an impassive one. “What? Is Y/n in there?”
She strained her neck to get a peek at the damage done, but Sam prevented her from sprinting inside.
Bailey raised his hands to his chest and pushed downwards, imitating a gesture that meant calm down. “Y/n has gone missing; The forensics team hasn't found a body, or... remnants of one.”
He glanced away from the Carpenter sisters, an offhand look in his eyes as he waved an officer over. “If you ladies will excuse me, this is an active crime scene, and I have unfinished work to do.”
Tara scoffed, then gasped like she couldn't believe what she just heard. Sam ushered her sister from the chaotic scene, softly murmuring, “We should go.”
“Sam! Tara!” Oh, they recognized that voice, it belonged to the shallow, selfish, self-serving liar herself, Gale Weathers.
And she swarmed into their personal space without reading the room or caring for Tara’s distraught demeanor. “How do you feel now that Ghostface has followed you to the Big Apple?”
Gale spoke into a microphone while someone filmed behind her. “Care to comment on the recent murders?”
“No. Leave us alone.” Sam said through gritted teeth. She was okay before Gale Weathers showed, but now she was aggravated.
Gale was annoyingly persistent, following after the two women when they tried to leave, and spouting an overwhelming plethora of questions.
Sam had enough. She spun on her heels, and with a roll of her eyes, threw a punch in Gale’s direction. The targeted newswoman anticipated that it was coming, and swerved.
“Nice try, sweetie,” Gale smirked, her voice amplified because of the microphone. “But I've been through this dance before—Oh!”
Tara’s fist struck her in the cheek and made Gale swivel. Tara leaned forward, threatening, “Stay away from us.”
Gale stood, dumbfounded, pressing a hand to where she'd been hit.
Sam was resting against a wall with her arms crossed once she found a secluded area for a genuine talk with Tara. “Is everything okay?”
Tara had been twisting her hands and gnawing on her lip, which were all signs that pointed to extreme anxiety and worry. “We were dating. Me and y/n.”
It came out like word vomit. Sam was surprised Tara confessed information about her private life without the usual opposition.
She blinked and straightened her posture, curiosity peaked. “Oh, Tara. Why didn't you tell me?”
“Because you're—” Tara was going to say something mean, but she stopped herself, her voice trailing off. “You.”
Sam listened to her younger sister with a glimmer of guilt in her eyes, and Tara despised that look, like she was a wounded puppy Sam had just run over.
She eyed Sam before finding solace in the ground and absentmindedly rubbing at her sore knuckles. “But Y/n has gone missing, or might not even be alive, and it's all my fault.”
Sam frowned and wrestled with a thought. “Is it possible—”
“Don’t.” Tara shut down the question before Sam could complete it, because if it was voiced aloud—there was a chance it could be true.
And she didn't want it to be true.
Sam nodded and held her tongue; her lips were set in a straight line. She didn't want to upset her sister further. “Okay.”
“It's not over.” Sam shuffled over to Tara, their shoulders almost touching as they both leaned on the building. “We're going to find Y/n and kick the asses of whoever is accountable for hurting all of us.”
“Promise?” Tara half-smiled at her sister.
She wouldn't be wholly content until you were in her arms again, but knowing she had Sam by her side, that made her feel better.
“Swear on it.” Sam held out her pinky, her tone was sweet, but her face expressed a certain maliciousness.
In agreement, Tara hooked their pinkies together. She just missed one vital piece that would make her life almost okay again... you.
A lot has happened. Gale Weathers had been stabbed, Mindy was stuck with Ethan on a train and she was falling behind, and Tara was spiraling into depression because you remained missing.
Prior to Gale’s attempted murder, the reporter had found an abandoned, secret hideout with Ghostface graffiti scattered on the outside and guided Sam and Tara to it—everyone else followed along—as an apology for being a conceited bitch.
It kinda worked. Tara felt a little remorseful, but she deserved that punch.
Turns out the inside was even more of a freak show, occupied with Ghostface collections and a fucking shrine of mannequins wearing cloaks and wielding the knives of past killers, only all the masks were missing.
Tara did not like it here. The place gave her the creeps equivalent to a thousand bugs crawling down her back.
She hoped that you would show up out of the blue, in good health, with a smile on your face, saying something like, “I'm sorry I ran away,” and tease her like you always did by being your goofy self.
But with every passing moment that specific scenario didn't happen, the likelihood of you being alive became less likely, and her heart grew heavy.
Tara didn't want to admit it, because then your disappearance would become a reality, but her hopes were diminishing.
Sam was also going through her own internal turmoil; Tara has seen the way her sister looked at Billy Loomis’s display when she assumed no one was watching.
“What are you doing?” Tara didn't mean to spook Sam. Her eyes gleamed, not out of fear, but because she was concerned.
“Yo, Tara!” Chad had cupped his hands over his mouth to shout and was beckoning for her to walk with him.
Tara glanced over at Chad and back at her speechless sister, who was struggling to form a sentence, her gaze sympathetic.
She turned away to follow Chad.
“Who uses this place anymore? It's so old,” Tara remarked while smirking.
She stood at a dusty concession counter with Chad. He smiled at her comment and shifted closer to her.
He reached for an old box of candy at the same time she did, and their fingers brushed.
Tara flushed from embarrassment. “Oh, you can have it.”
Chad withdrew his arm, grinning sheepishly. “I'm sorry. You can have it.”
“No, you can take them.” Tara insisted, her smile fading while handing the box of chocolate to him.
But Chad just wouldn't get the hint. “No, you wanted them...” He tossed the candy down on the counter. “You take it.”
“I don't want them. They're a hundred years old. I actually—What are you doing?” Chad had tried to kiss her, but Tara pushed him back.
“Kissing... You?” He arched a brow in confusion, sounding unsure of himself.
“I'm dating Y/n. I was. We broke up.” She rambled, using her inhaler before she was sent into a panic attack. “It's complicated.”
Chad wasn't unattractive in the slightest. He had a buff build, muscles, and a soft heart underneath the tough jock exterior.
Sometimes he said things that made him seem brainless, but terrible timing aside, she didn't see him like that—more than as a friend.
Even if you were out of the picture, which was a thought she couldn't stomach, her relationship with you was still fresh. She didn't want to date anyone else.
Chad was quiet, and all Tara wanted to do was drown herself in the silence.
Sam lingered away from the Ghostface mannequins, and stepping down the stage, she called out, “Tara? Chad? Kirby?”
She was alone, in the room by herself. They had dispersed to different areas of the theatre and left her.
Tara and Chad stood beside each other with their backs turned to the counter, seeking comfort in the other’s presence.
“I'm stupid, aren't I?” Chad had a pained smile on his face. He was trying to make the situation less awkward by joking.
Tara couldn't help the small, amused smile that tugged on her lips, partially serious as she answered him. “A little bit.”
Dejectedly, he hung his head and blew a puff of air. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
Tara shook her head, “You're going to be fine.” She corrected herself, “We are,” and playfully nudged Chad.
Sam slowly crept toward the corridor, her ears picking up on muffled thumping sounds that resembled rats running through pipes.
Chad and Tara kept talking in the other room while Sam was investigating the noise. “I think you're beautiful, Tara. You're strong and I like women who can throw a punch.”
Trailing her hand along the walls, Sam had Billy Loomis’s knife out at the ready, on extremely high alert as she neared the source.
“I can't be with you, not now, probably not ever” Tara replied curtly.
He wouldn't drop the subject and it made her uncomfortable. “Maybe if you told me before I met y/n, then it would be different.”
Bingo. Sam’s hand found a small handle in the paneling. She pushed, then pulled and it gave away, revealing a thin, hidden compartment.
“The thing is, I didn't realize how much I wanted you until I saw you with someone else,” Chad admitted, taking a tentative peek at her.
He was speaking from the bottom of his heart, but still, Tara didn't love him like she loved you.
It was dark, but Sam could see the silhouette of a person and glistening eyes. “Y/n.” she breathed softly; her heart broke at the condition you were in.
There you were. Alive, held captive but not dead.
She flipped the knife so the blade was facing the floor, and crouched down.
“Tara is here with me. We're going to get you out of here, okay?” She fumbled with the duct tape on your wrists, glancing at your tear-stricken face. “She'll be so, so happy to see you.”
Your eyes brightened, but what you were attempting to say was unintelligible because your mouth was duct-taped as well.
You were happy though, that much Sam could tell.
A scream echoed in the corridor. It was Tara’s.
Sam’s eyes snapped to yours and reluctance showed on her features. She began to pull away, even though she was not finished setting you free.
“Sam.” You looked at her expectantly.
She was reminded of that time in Woodsboro when Tara was locked in that closet and she had to decide whether or not she should set her sister free.
Guilt tugged on Sam’s heart, but she stood up anyway. “Wait here. I'll be back, I promise.”
You began to shout muffled objections. The secret door was shut back in place, leaving you to stew in your thoughts and emotions once more.
Sam went to find her sister, but she didn't have to go far because Tara ran into her, hyperventilating. “They got Chad! They got him! Two of them.”
Sam gripped Tara’s arms and waited until she calmed down to tell her what she'd discovered. “I found Y/n!”
“What? Where is he?” Tara attempted to search for you, but Sam kept her still.
“Not now. He's safe.” Sam brushed back a strand of hair from her sister’s eyes, moving her hands to hold both sides of her face. “Hey, let’s finish this okay? Then we can go home.”
Tara nodded and allowed Sam to guide her to the room where the mannequins and Ghostface memorabilia were.
It was time for Act 3.
Seconds turned into minutes, and minutes morphed into hours. You were just sitting there, waiting, in the cramped space when the door slid open again.
Sam stared down at you, sporting a familiar, black cloak that you had witnessed Ghostface wearing. “Did you see who took you?”
A slow nod from you.
Was it Ethan or Quinn?” She was digging for information about the culprit of your kidnapping; you shook your head at both of the names mentioned.
“Detective Bailey. Old cop guy with grey hair.” Your confused expression shifted into a knowing one.
Sam smirked, an evil glint in her eyes. “Be right back.”
She slid the door closed; you were enclosed in the secret compartment again.
Sam tore the mask off her face and let it sit on her head. She turned out of the center stage, walked through the projector curtains, and joined Tara on the steps.
“Thank you for letting me go.” Tara’s face was stained with black splotches, and she looked the same as Sam did—A total mess.
They had just finished killing a family–Richie’s family, in fact. Quinn, Ethan, and fucking Detective Bailey were all relatives of his.
Detective Bailey was the only one left alive for their final act. It was a team effort; Tara called him over the phone pretending to be Ghostface.
Sam wore the costume, stealthily approached that dipshit, and stabbed him until he couldn't scream anymore.
Of course, she did stab him in the eye as a preventative measure. He deserved a worse fate than death, but he also didn't deserve a second chance to torment her family. Yes, that included you too.
Sam smiled, and this one did reach her eyes, resting her head on her arm. “I knew you could take care of yourself.”
Tara’s smile faltered and her gaze dropped to her shoes.
“I want to be in your life though,” Sam added after a beat of silence. Tara made eye contact with her sister, her expression softening. “But only as much as you want me to.”
“I want you to be in my life.” Tara declared with complete honesty, squashing Sam’s doubts. “And y/n, Mindy,” Her voice wavered at the next name, “Chad.”
Sam reached over and placed a hand on Tara’s knee. She was sympathetic to her sister’s feelings.
They both have dealt with this specific trauma two times, too many.
Tara chuckled and a wide grin formed on her face. Sam giggled with her, just glad to laugh after the day they had.
A loud bang! and a clatter startled the sisters, causing them to jump up apprehensively.
You stumbled into the room with a bruised eye, and a bleeding cut above the eyebrow of your other eye. Your face was roughed up as if you had been in a horrible fistfight.
There was a long and wide, jagged, exposed gash that went across your nose, under your left eye and stopped at your earlobe.
Your feet were taped together and the tape on your hands had been cut.
“You still don't understand, Tara!” Ethan screamed, veins exuded out of his neck and his eyes bulged. “In the sequel, the perfect boyfriend died.”
“Quinn.” Detective Bailey demanded. “Go fetch, y/n. We have a crime scene to stage.”
“On it!” Quinn strode past the sisters and turned into the corridor that led to the other rooms of the theatre, disappearing from view.
Sam looked up through hooded eyes into the soulless ones of Detective Bailey. “Wow. You and Richie have similar plans.”
He was aiming a gun at her and tilted his head, confusion etched on his face. “What are you talking about?”
“Your son took my sister hostage.” There was a faux sweetness behind her tone. Sam was taunting him. “He tried to convince me that Tara was the killer, but guess what? I untied her.”
As if on cue, Quinn exclaimed, “Uh, I can't find him!”
Detective Bailey’s voice boomed as he shouted back, “He can't have gotten far!”
Some things were tossed and slammed around in her search for you. A sharp ‘thwack’ sounded and Quinn cried out.
“I let him go,” Sam smirked.
Tara ran and wrapped her arms around you in a bone-crushing hug, nearly knocking you off your feet, a choked sob escaped from her.
Pulling away to inspect you, she reached out and peeled the tape from your lips. “Tara.” You croaked.
Your throat felt like sandpaper due to a lack of water and food, and your lips were cracked.
“Y/n,” Tara mumbled softly, tears welling up in her eyes. She brought her hand around the nape of your neck and drew you in for a kiss.
You succumbed to the warm sensation of her lips on yours and deepened the kiss. The suffering you had endured was washing away now that your girl was in your arms.
Tara had that power; she always knew how to make your pain forgettable when you were with her.
You parted for air, already missing her lips on yours.
You also had something really important to say and it couldn't wait, “Tara, I want to undo the breakup.”
Tara beamed at you and grinned ear-to-ear. Teasingly, she asked, “We broke up?”
Her face glowed with a certain happiness that was only expressed in your presence.
You rolled your eyes, and the small smile on your lips made it obvious that you were humoring her. “Come here.”
You lured her in for a second kiss and your lips nearly connected with hers, but a loud, animalistic growl forced you and Tara to spring apart in fear.
Ethan Landry was still alive. He had a bloody maw and roared like a beast, rushing, aiming for all three of you with a knife raised.
It was so unexpected and too fast for any of you to formulate a defensive strategy. You, Sam, and Tara could only gape at Ethan’s grotesque appearance.
Something creaked, and in the blink of an eye, the tv that killed Stu Macher tipped over and claimed Ethan Landry as its new victim.
Kirby popped out from behind the display where the TV used to be. Like the rest of you survivors, she was in terrible shape.
She smiled, “Saw that in a scary movie once.”
You breathed a sigh of relief and pulled Tara close to you, a smile returning to your face.
Sam moved closer to you and Tara, looking proud of you two. She placed her hand on your back, between your shoulder blades, and gave you a one-armed hug.
You leaned into her embrace and rested your chin on her shoulder. It was nice of her to do that, and you felt like crying because, from the moment you started dating Tara, you hoped to bond with her sister.
Sam didn't let you go right away; she was dragging out the hug for as long as possible, and it's what you needed. “How would you feel about going out on a double date? You and Tara, Me and Danny—my neighbor—who I've been seeing.”
Her voice was smooth and inviting, even if you considered saying no, it would've been hard to refuse. “I'd love that, Sam.”
She broke off the hug to gauge whether you were being serious or otherwise. “Yeah?”
“Absolutely.” You had a grin on your face.
“Already talking about me behind my back?” Tara chimed in, staring at you with an eyebrow raised, and suppressing a smile.
“Aww, is my lovebug feeling lonely?” You did a silly, comical impression with your voice and pulled her flush to your hip, tenderly squeezing her shoulder.
“I can't stand you.” You and Sam laughed together at Tara’s empty insult.
Tara protested and elbowed you in the ribs, but soon, she was laughing as well.
“Oh, man.” When the laughter died down, you groaned and touched your forehead, dangerously on the verge of fainting or spilling out your guts. “I need to go to the hospital.”
Two weeks have passed.
Tara strutted through a fitness gym, wearing sunglasses and holding a coffee. All she could hear were misogynistic, sweaty men grunting and using the exercise equipment.
“Come on! Come on!”
Two men were practicing boxing. One man was holding up mitts, acting as a target dummy, and the other was throwing punches.
Tara approached them, removing her glasses. “Y/n.”
You stopped mid-punch, saw who called your name, and disengaged from your boxing stance. “Babe, hey!”
You walked to her with open arms and pulled her into a big, sweaty hug. “We were just finishing up.”
Danny was the man who you were sparring with. He peeled off the gloves and tucked them under his arm, sporting a toothy grin.
“I got you coffee.” Tara offered you the to-go cup when you pulled away.
You took the coffee off her hands. “Oh, sweet. Decaf?”
“Uh huh, only the best for my beau.” She smiled while watching you chug the hot beverage.
“Is Sam ready?” Danny asked, joining you and Tara.
“Yeah,” Tara pointed her thumb at the entrance of the gym. “She’s waiting outside.”
You finished drinking the coffee and lowered the cup in your hands. “How is Chad, by the way?”
Tara perked up when you asked; she seemed excited to talk about him. “He’s recovering pretty fast. It's impressive, according to his doctor. He’ll be out in a couple of weeks.”
“That’s good to hear!” You said cheerily with a hint of sarcasm. “I still need to fight him for trying to kiss you.”
Your girlfriend released a small, airy laugh. “As much as I would love to see both of you acting like idiots, fighting is unnecessary. He’s already dealing with my rejection.”
“I imagine that's gotta hurt.” Danny chortled while glancing at you.
“Yeah, imagine.” You smirked, refraining from laughing when Danny gave you a knowing look.
Tara shook her head and she didn't bother to hide her signature eye roll. “I'm hating this... bromance or whatever this is between the two of you.”
You chuckled. Danny pressed his hand to his chest and faked a hurt expression. “Ouch, Sam’s little sis.”
“Speaking of, I wouldn't want to keep Sam waiting.” You slung each of your arms around Danny and Tara and propelled them forward. “Let's go eat!”
Both of them complained while you used their necks as props as you reached the doors to exit, and Tara smacked you until she was freed from your arm.
You met up with Sam, who was standing right outside the gym, and the four of you walked on the sidewalks of New York to a nice, fancy restaurant.
You and Tara were seated together at a table with Sam and Danny, surrounded by great food, jokes, laughter, and a warm ambiance.
You clinked your alcoholic drink against theirs and chatted the night away.
Ghostface? Stab series? They didn't cross your mind once.

Your relationship with your girlfriend, Tara Carpenter, had not come as a surprise. Not at all, for the two of you had been close since childhood. Almost inseparable, but you could never quite be inseparable while Amber Freeman had been in the picture. She had been the only other person who had been as, if not more, close to Tara than you, but you had never hated her. How could you when she had acted so loyally as her friend, always moving to defend her, to ensure that she was not mistreated? She had loved Tara, had opened her heart to her, exactly as you had. Perhaps, with time, that love had withered and fallen away to nothing, though, for when Richie Kirsch found his way into her Reddit inbox, she had happily agreed to go along with his plan, to kill all of her friends, even Tara, in the name of cinema.
Their plan had not gone off without a hitch, for both Amber and Richie had found themselves dead, butchered at the hands of the Carpenter sisters. It saddened you to lose a friend, but you had not cracked, had not fractured into a million unmendable pieces as Tara had. Seeing her heartbreak, you had to push down your sadness and be strong in order to comfort her, to make her whole once more. This saw the two of you growing closer than ever before, and eventually, months after the legacy killings, you had shared a kiss. A chaste kiss, a mere brush of lips, but it had been enough to light a fire within the both of you, making you ache for more. So you began seeing Tara in secret, sharing kisses behind closed doors and sometimes, when you were feeling bold, you two hid away in dark corners and let both your hands and mouths wander.
This was one such day, but you were not kissing in a dark corner. Your roommates, Sam and Quinn, were out for the day, off doing whatever it was that tickled their fancy, leaving just you and Tara alone in the apartment. The television was on, playing a marathon of the Scary Movie franchise, but you were hardly focused on the television. Instead, your focus was on Tara, on how her mouth slotted so perfectly against yours. She lay beside you, her body offering an inferno of heat as your lips moved languidly together. Eventually, the kiss turned hot, consuming, which was why you two did not notice when the six locks to the apartment came undone. You did not even notice when the door was flung open, giving your friends a full, unimpeded view of you and your girlfriend. It was only after a whistle left Quinn’s ruby-stained lips and filled the air that you and Tara broke apart, your eyes growing comically wide. Heat bloomed on your face, sending flickers of embarrassment through her body, because you had not the faintest idea how long they had been standing there nor much they had seen.
“Woah, I did not see that coming,” Chad remarked, his mouth turning down ever so slightly, because he too had felt himself drawn toward Tara. Jealousy churned in his belly, eating up his insides, but he was happy for you both, truly.
“How?” Mindy asked, disbelief overtaking her features. “Literally everybody saw that coming, Chad, even Ethan.”
Chad’s mouth fell theatrically open at that, prompting him to turn and face his roomate with an expression akin to betrayal. “You knew and didn’t tell me?”
“Hey, don’t look at me like that,” he retorted, holding up his hands. “I thought you’d figured it out yourself.”
Behind the bantering trio, Quinn held out a hand to Anika, looking wholly self-satisfied. “I told you that they were already together, Anika. I mean, c’mon. Y/N can barely take their eyes off of Tara.”
A small, barely perceptible pout crossed Anika’s features as she retrieved a twenty dollar bill from her wallet, placing it in Quinn’s expectant hand. They had been intimately aware of the romantic tension that lay between you and Tara, being so real and consuming that it could be cut with a butter knife. Anika had not known that you were already together, though, which was why she had lost the bet that was dependent on when you had begun seeing one another.
Their antics were paid little by Sam, for her dark eyes were stuck on you. Brimming with uncertainty, she asked, “Are you two . . . you know, together?”
“I—“
“Yes, we are,” Tara cut you off, donning a small smile. “We’ve been together for a while now.”
“Oh . . . good. That’s good. I’m happy for you two, but Y/N, you should know that if you hurt my sister, I’ll kill you.”

Tara was protective. She always thought she had to be, especially after her encounters with multiple murderers trying to kill her. Lately she had been projecting her protective ways onto you. At first it was sweet. She cared about you so much she just wanted to keep you safe. But soon she began taking it too far. She'd never let you leave your shared apartment on your own, and if she did, she'd demand to know where you were going and how long you'd be, and she'd be constantly texting you while you were out to check on you. You knew she had good intentions, but it was starting to make you uncomfortable. And whenever you confronted her about it, she’d immediately deny it and act like she’d done nothing wrong.
”Tara, I just wanna go out on my own.”
”Babe, you go out on your own all the time, I get so lonely.”
”That’s not true. And when you do let me out on my own, you still never leave me alone.” You hated arguing with Tara, but you couldn’t let her behaviour go on for any longer.
“Sorry, are you getting mad that I check up on you to make sure you’re ok?” she glared at you and you had to hold back a sigh of frustration.
”No, I’m getting mad that you can’t leave me alone for one second. Tara, I love you, and I know you’re just protective, but you can ease back a bit in protecting me. I promise.”
You watched her expression go from angered, confused, thinking, then to understanding (at least you thought she was understanding).
She nodded, a sigh slipping from her lips, "You're right. I am over protective of you. I can't control you, and I'm sorry I thought I could."
A shocked expression covered your face, "Oh."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just didn't think you'd take this so well."
Tara laughed slightly, "Come on babe, give me some credit."
Her smile was contagious, "You're right, I'm sorry."
She took your hand in hers, "Can I walk you outside?" you nodded with a wide smile, proud of how she was willing to fix her behaviour. You two walked out the apartment door, before she stopped you, “Phone?”
”Huh?”
She laughed softly, “You’re really gonna leave without your phone.”
You laughed in understanding, “One sec, I’ll go grab it.”
You walked to your room where you know you left it, squinting in confusion as it was nowhere to be found. You went back to Tara, about to ask if she knew where it would be, but she was also nowhere to be found.
”Tara?” you called, receiving no response other than the silence. You went to turn and look for her, when a damp cloth covered your mouth and nose, making your stomach drop with fear.
You struggled against their firm grip against your chest, feeling your vision grow blurry, and sounds going muffled. It didn’t take long before your eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and you eventually collapsed to the floor.
———
Your eyes flutter open, confused as you look around you, finding yourself in your bedroom. The last thing you remember is that you were meant to be going out, without Tara. Now you were in your room. Something was very wrong. You go to readjust your position on the bed, heart skipping a beat when you feel ropes around your wrist binding you to the bed frame. You struggle against them, a sharp pain sends up your arms as the rope digs into your skin, causing your head to pound. You look up with a startle as you hear the door open, squinting in confusion as Tara enters the room. She looks distraught, as if she was the one tied to the bed frame.
She walks closer to you, offering a strained smile as she sits on the edge of the bed.
“How are you feeling?”
“My head hurts.” You stare at her, eyeing her cautiously. “Tara, why am I tied up?”
She stares coldly, “Don’t look at me like that. I’m keeping you safe.”
”Tara please.” You beg, your voice barely louder than a whisper as you stared at her with glossy eyes.
”Y/N, you can’t protect yourself. I was so fucking sick of having to explain it to you just for you to ignore me. I was trying to help you and keep you safe. I didn’t want to risk something happening to you. So now, I can permanently keep you safe.” She speaks, and you notice her eyes avoiding looking at yours.
”Please let me go. You can’t keep me locked up here, Tara.” You beg and plead with teary eyes, praying to whatever god that she’ll take pity on you and untie you. Your heart pumps quickly with fear as you lose hope every second that you’ll make it out of this room alive.
“I can’t let you go. I-I’m doing this for your own good, why don’t you understand that?” She yells, voice cracking with the last sentence. You can’t shake the feeling that she’s trying to convince herself. Convince herself that it’s not her fault, and that she’s not in the wrong. But whether or not she feels guilty for kidnapping you is the least of your worries.
“Tara-"
"Just stop being so fucking difficult!" she shouts, her voice hitting your ears like daggers. You flinch back, doing your best to steady your breathing. You both stay silent, the only sound being your small, shaky breaths.
Seeing your fearful state, Tara sighs, standing up from the bed and leaving without a word, taking deep breaths as she does.
You're left alone on the bed, millions of thoughts rushing through your mind, making it impossible to focus on a singular thought. You attempt to make some sense of the situation, Tara's words replaying on repeat through your mind, but nothing makes sense. You knew she was extra protective ever since the murders, but you can't even fathom the thought of Tara doing something like this. Even though you're living proof that she has.
You rustle the ropes again, seeing if they'll loosen up, but to no avail. You're left with sore arms and a returning headache. You shut your eyes, steadying your breathing again, and you don't even notice Tara walking in, until you feel the weight shift on the spot beside you.
"You said your head hurts?" she's holding a glass of water and a plate with a sandwich. She holds the glass of water up to your lips, "Drink it." she instructs. Your headache grows less painful as the cool water slides down your throat. Without realising, you drink the entire glass, only noticing once Tara takes the glass away from you and sets it on the bedside table. Her dark eyes shift back to you, and for a moment you almost forget how afraid of her you are.
"I'm sorry if I scared you before." she begins, bringing the sandwich to your mouth and feeding it to you, "I shouldn't have yelled at you, I was just frustrated." she pauses, before putting the sandwich back on the plate and placing it next to the empty glass, "But you need to understand that I'm not going to let you go." Her expression and voice holds no emotion, making the moment even more unnerving, "I'm keeping you here because I love you.  I'm doing this for you. So if you don't want me to yell at you, you need to do as you're told and listen to me when I tell you you can't leave."
You stare at her, her words doing nothing to comfort you.
"Do you understand?"
You just nod your head, not wanting to even think about what she'd do if you upset her again.
She smiles at you, but it doesn't reach her eyes, "Good boy."

Tara Carpenter X Male!Reader
So I had an idea. Basically R and Tara are dating and R has 2 personality's, one personality is the sweet caring and gentle boyfriend/brother/son/Friend. The other personality is the dark, twisted and psychotic man that no one knows about, not even himself( maybe one of his personalities is one of the past killers). Well he sort of has an idea that the killer is him, he realises something is wrong when he hears about a single killer walking around in a mask murdering people- when one day he wakes up with blood covering him.
He goes to the party with Tara, everyone's there. Halfway through he disappears and Tara notices, ghost face pops out and no one knows it's R having an episode. Everyone gangs up on ghost face and they are shocked to see R. But after saying his name, he doesn't respond, and says his name is (whoever you want). They knock him out because they realise something's wrong but they don't take him to the police they tie him up in the basement and sit around waiting for him to wake up. When he does it's R again but he keeps slipping between personalities, R is crying but the other personality is finding joy in the situation- R keeps apologising and the all try and calm him down. R slowly starts to understand what's going on and is just sobbing/begging for help. You can decide how it ends.

DNI IF YOU'RE YOUNGER THAN 18!
One breath.
It was sharp. Abrupt. Sudden. It made you shoot up and stumble back where your body met a door. Eyes flickering all around you and only finding the oddity of your surroundings being unfamiliar to you. The blue ceramic tiled walls, the rotting sink top, the cracked glass, and the toilet that was foul to your nose.
The longer you took in your surroundings, the more you became apparent of the blackout of memory you’d experienced. And the more you looked, the more fucked up you became by your set of circumstances.
Your eyes looked into the cracked reflection of yourself and found a crimson figure. It was you, covered in blood. Finally looking down at yourself, you choked on your breath. Blood covered you from the top of your head to the bottom of your shoes. The only saving grace was the leather gloves snuggly slipped over your hands. Your grey shirt was stained, denim jeans were splashed and smeared with the blood of someone or something that didn’t belong to you.
“On tonight’s breaking news, landowners, Marie Goldwin and her wife, Kassidy Limberg, were found murdered in their front yard tonight.” That announcement that came from the TV outside of the bathroom made you freeze. “So far, police haven’t been able to give a statement to the community.”
Opening the door, you stepped out into what seemed to be a motel at first glance. It was like every small, run-down motel that no one would go to. But the further you looked across the room, the more you quickly saw the large white tarp that was stapled to the walls and floor, and the thick plastic wrap covering the bed. Then you were able to spot the splash of blood that stuck out like a sore thumb.
“The police have set a curfew for the town until they can figure out what has happened and where to take the next step,” the news anchor added. “So, please, everyone, stay safe.”
“Ahhh, what the fuck?” You muttered, eye twitching as you quickly ran to the front door and locked it. Backing away as you run your hands through your hair. “I was in my car. I was driving to Tara’s and then I…” The ramblings falling from your lips faded as you looked back at the TV and shook your head. “No, I couldn’t have…”
It was dark out, so you might’ve just gotten here. In some weird faded memory that you had no knowledge of, maybe you went out of your way and murdered those two women. Maybe you had something to drink or took something that didn’t kick in until then. What fucking happened between 7 PM to now?
You took the time to have a shower and wash off every droplet of blood from your skin. The drain swept the crimson away and into the pipes that would hide away the first step of your contribution to a murder. But you wouldn’t accept this because you weren’t capable of this. This wasn’t you and everyone would know that. Yet, you couldn’t take any chances. You’ve watched YOU, and you know the steps that need to be taken. So, thank god there were cleaning chemicals under the sink and your vehicle parked out front.
So, doing what you could, you carefully folded up the tarp, placing your shirt in the center before quickly rushing it out and placing it in the bed of your truck. Hiding it behind the toolbox and spare tire before going back inside and taking bleach to everything. There was no way to be sure what you could’ve touched before you came to, so you took it to the carpet, bathroom, tv, the remote, door handles- everything! You couldn’t be too safe.
And it hurt you in a way to be doing this. The fact that you just wanted to run, but were covering your tracks. You felt more like the perpetrator than the innocent. So, in a way, you were helping in a murder that you didn’t commit. Unless you did, but you couldn’t have. Never in your life did you ever want to hurt someone in the way that those two landowners suffered. It must be a frame job and be placed on you, someone who was trying to get through school and love his girlfriend wholeheartedly.
Yet, here you were, rushing out of the motel with the room keys tight in your grasp as you slid into the driver's seat. Starting up the vehicle just as your eyes were drawn to four garbage bags in the passenger seat. Your jaw clenched, swallowing the lump in your throat as you hesitantly pulled the hem back to be greeted by two lifeless eyes and the foul stench of blood and rotting flesh. You gagged, pushing your truck door open and vomiting.
You could already tell this would be a long night.
Tumblr media
“You okay?”
You lift your gaze from the streets that were slowly becoming the same the longer you drove. They flicker to Tara who sat in the passenger seat of your car, accommodating you to the party Amber was hosting.
“Yeah,” you dismiss forcefully.
Tara purses her lips, looking down at her hands. Dragging her nails gently across the back of her hand. “Are you sure?” She prods further, seeing if there is an opening that she might be able to expose.
“If you want to say something Tara, then do it,” you say softly as possible.
She lets out an exhale flow through her nose, shaking her head. “You just have seemed… off,” she mutters. “Is it anything you want to talk about?”
It took almost all your willpower to not make it apparent that there was something very clearly bothering you. Ever since the death of the landowners and you waking up in that Motel, things in Woodsboro had been growing tenser and unpredictable. Killings were now happening every few weeks and the bodies were continuing to add up to a small hill. Police were doing patrols around town and there were rumours of FBI agents starting to catch word of the massacre going on in the small town.
So, to say you were bothered would be an understatement. And with how frequent these blackouts had started becoming, you were beginning to suspect the worse of yourself.
“Nothing that you need to worry about.” You smiled, reaching over and grasping one of her hands, squeezing tenderly. It gave you the chance to see Tara smile, seemingly dropping the conversation and allowing her to soak up the warmth of your calloused hand.
The party was going strong by the time you and Tara arrived. Each step out away from the safety of your vehicle made the sound of music and the flashing lights of the windows grow brighter. And when you stepped inside, you instantly regretted leaving your house.
A harsh wave of heat hit your face. Music blasting at full max blinds your senses and the flashing lights discombobulate your vision. You couldn’t help yourself when you harshly rubbed your eyes, hoping that the dark lighting and sudden flashes would be something you became adjusted to.
Tara’s hand met your forearm, shaking you from the daze of the party you didn’t even want to attend. Her lips barely grazed the shell of your ear as she asked, “Are you okay?”
“Yeah.” You nodded, smiling. Pulling the back hem of your pants and sighing as you leaned down to her ear. “I just need the bathroom really quick.”
She nodded, pressing a kiss to your cheek, her touch lingering for a moment before she parted from your side when seeing Chad and Amber. You exhaled heavily, forcing yourself up the steps and toward the upstairs bathroom. Feeling that all too familiar flicker of your vision deviating. The strength in your body is slowly being extracted just as you reach the top of the stairs. And once you reach that bathroom door, stumbling inside with the darkness being your only friend, you were consumed by it.
“Has Y/n seemed…off to you?” Tara asked aloud to the group, who were all gathered around the table. Each holding a drink in their hands with their face seeming to share the same unbeknownst look that Tara couldn’t relate to. “He hasn’t been himself for months. Texts have been less and calls are as frequent as they were.”
“Maybe he is messing around with a new chick.” Chad’s drunken comment earned a firm slap upside the head from his sister. Mindy sent him a look that made him purse his lips, exhaling heavily. “I mean, nothing has seemed out of the ordinary for me, at least. Still shows up to school. Still works at the music store. What is it that you think is wrong with him?”
“Well, for starters. He said he would be back after going to the bathroom, but that’s been an hour ago.” Her words were sharp and pierced each of them with realization.
None of them had been aware that it had been that long. Maybe they’d been so caught up in talking and ushering all the kids out of the house, and cleaning that they forgot you had even been here. But Tara trusted in you saying you were fine. Then again, maybe you just needed to head home and rest.
“Are you sure he didn’t text you telling you he was heading home or anything?” Amber inquired, seeming uninterested in her friend's relationship troubles.
“Or maybe he’s still in the bathroom?” Liv said with a scowl, shrugging.
But then there was a painful grinding of metal against metal. The screech made the others cringe as they looked in the direction of where the sound came from. And within the shadows they found a lingering dark figure. Yet, they all could see the glint of light bouncing off of a blade.
And before anyone could get a word out, the figure came running at them, revealing Ghost face. They went charging at Chad, sending him flying into the counter. A yell fell from the boy’s lips, quickly grabbing the killer's wrists as they tried to plunge the knife into him.
The others were quick to grab weapons and hit the killer. It was enough to knock the killer to the ground with a groan after Amber hit them over the head with a chair. Knocking the mask and making everyone freeze in their steps.
“Y/n?” Liv muttered, brows scrunching together in confusion.
But instead of guilt or fear, you smiled. “Name’s Samael, sweetheart.”
Chad took it upon himself to kick you in the face, knocking you out. Silence fell over the room, everyone staring at your unconscious body. Tara wanted to scramble over and hold you. Question where you had been and if this was some sick type of joke. But the unsettling feeling that had been in her stomach for months was apparent. And this might be the cause of it.
“We can’t keep him here or take him home,” Tara explained. “Check his car keys. He keeps a key to the music store. Maybe he take him there.”
Mindy quickly reached into your pockets and pulled out your keys. Everyone quickly made a way to grab you and get you to someone's vehicle. But the entire time Tara tried to figure out what was going on with you. Why did you say your name was Samael? Why were you killing people? How long had you been doing this until you stopped caring?
“Oh, what the fuck is this?” Chad muttered, staring at the cage that was built in the center of the basement. Lights above giving
“What does it matter? We have to get him in there before he wakes up,” Mindy told her brother, helping Amber and Liv carry your unconscious body down the steps and toward the cage. Finding a key stuck in the lock, they pulled the door open and placed your body inside. Ushering out before locking it behind them.
Tara ran her hands through her hair. “Ok, what do we do now?” She asked frantically. “Do we call the police? Do we wait until he wakes up?”
“What the fuck do you mean, Tara?” Amber exclaimed. “The better question; what the fuck is wrong with Y/n and building some Saw level cage in the basement of the music store? And is he the killer?”
“There’s no doubt about it,” Chad commented, glancing at the others. “I mean, he was wearing the Ghost face outfit, Tara. He tried to kill me! The blood on the fucking ground! And he called himself “Samael”? We have no choice but to call the police-”
Hearing the sound of groan sound through the basement made them all spin toward the cage. You stirred, running a hand over your face, hissing with your head shooting up abruptly. “Fuck. My head…”
As your eyes flickered open, you caught sight of your friends. Fear spilled from the brims of their eyes. It caused you to slowly sit up and finally take in the surroundings. A cage. Something so familiar and identical to YOU. “What the fuck?” Shooting up to your feet, you looked around before your eyes found Tara. “Baby, what the fuck is going on?”
“Shut the fuck up, man!” Chad exclaimed. “What the fuck is wrong with you? Is this some sort of joke? Were you really trying to kill me back there?”
But hearing your friend's questions made you frown. Unable to remember what had led you to be locked in a cage. Then there was the feeling back from when you hid that body. The knowledge that something else stirred inside of you that you had no way of knowing if it was real or not.
“I’m scared, guys,” you admitted, walking toward the glass. Tears beginning to bubble over the brims of your eyes. “I don’t know what I did. Guys, I don’t know what is wrong with me. Did I hurt anyone?”
“Why did you kill them, Y/n?” Tara wept, sitting on her knees. Your warm eyes were spilling over with tears of your own as you shook your head. But just like before, you tensed up, eyes rolling back with your head rolling back slightly with Samael coming to the surface.
“I don’t thrive on the killing, Tara,” he said, a gentle hum in his throat, rising from the spot Y/n had found in front of the glass. Beginning to pace back in forth where the others watched from behind Tara. All of them were disturbed by this new discovery of what sat beneath your smiles and soft words. “I fucking live for it. I mean, the first time I killed, it was wrong. I know that. But, fuck, did it feel fucking amazing to shut that stupid bitch up.”
Seeing Tara physically shiver in either fear or disgust satisfied Samael. It buoyed him. Allowed him to feel some sort of power in this situation when he and you were both at risk of what these teenagers might be willing to keep Woodsboro safe.
Tara pursed her lips, nose twitching as she bowed her head, eyes flickering shut. “Samael, can you please let me talk to Y/n?”
“Oh, but this is a question for me, isn’t it?” He asked, lips quirking into a grin. “Y/n isn’t capable of killing. We both know that.” He pressed his tongue to the inside of his cheek, shaking his head with a laugh. “But he’s becoming desensitized by it, Tara. It’s only a matter of time before he and I become one.”
“Just leave him be, Sam!” Tara pleaded. “He doesn’t deserve the shit you’re putting him through. You’re just a fucking infection that’s going to get him killed.”
Samael pouts mockingly, crouching in front of the glass opposite Tara. “And here I thought that after everything Y/n’s done to stay with you, you would love the both of us the same,” he said, hands resting against the glass as he draws his face closer toward the divider.” I mean, that little shit helped me hide a body that I cut up into tiny bits just so he could make it to your place on time. Hell, maybe we could be a fucked up murdering trio with due time.”
Tara shook her head in denial. “He’s not going to end up like you,” she spat. “We’re going to block you out somehow. I won’t allow him to be a monster like you.”
Again, that familiar tenseness in your body appeared. The once stoic, boisterous nature that Sameal held disappeared with your trembling. “Samael, just please.” You leaned back on your knees, staring up at the ceiling of the cage. “Stop. I can’t do this.”
“Y/n, it’s my time!” Samael yelled, rising to the surface. “You’ve had your chance at the wheel. I let you deliver what you could, but it wasn’t enough. You had a great ride, but it’s my turn to give the people of Woodsboro something to remember.”
“This is my life-!”
Your words and presence were ripped away once again with Samael unable to contain the mocking laugh that fell from his lips. “Oh, my God! Do you even hear yourself, man?” He questioned. “For 18 years, you have been dragging your feet telling everyone that you’ll be fine. Promising progress, but where is it at now, Y/n? Where are the wonders of the Adderall pills you had been promised? Because all they’ve shown is that I’ve become more involved since!”
Beneath the surface, you were trembling, fighting and hoping to reach some sort of precipice that might enlighten you of a way to stave off Samael. But the longer you sat in this dark void, oblivious to what is happening beyond through the windows that Samael continued to take claim of, you realized how far hope really was. It was intangible.
So, as the needles of revelation stabbed into your veins, injecting the gravity of the situation, you pushed yourself to the surface. The ringing in your ears, the adrenaline, clouded everything outside of your thoughts. Blocking out the voices that might pull you toward a hopeless state.
And Tara watched as you scrambled toward the small box that Samael used for his victims. A one-way compartment that you guessed was used to give food or drinks. The edge was sharp and blunt. But not too blunt that a direct impact would do the damage you needed.
“Y/n, what the fuck are you doing?” Samael called out.
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you stared at the edge before exhaling slowly. “Stopping you.”
There wasn’t a warning for anyone when you swung your head down upon the edge. The sickening crack and wet sound filled the air, making everyone gasp in shock. Tara’s lips were parted with the bubbling of nausea forming when you lifted your face, revealing your forehead split open, blood sliding down your forehead. Slipping down the curve of your eye socket and invading your vision. A quiet hiss falls from your lips. But it didn’t amount to painstakingly harsh pound echoing in each and every part of your skull.
“Stop!” Samael screamed. “You don’t want to do this, Y/n! This won’t just kill me, you’ll kill yourself. Think about Tara! I’ll stop, man. Just don’t do this!”
With your mind forming a heavy haze and eyes becoming blinded by your blood, you managed one final glance toward Tara. Seeing the fear and desperation to do something, but didn’t have the strength to move. Caught within her own mind and the shock of you standing there, on the brink of death to end this torment you’d been unaware of until tonight.
And came with a heavy heart to stare at her anymore. Hoping that even if no words were spoken, you wouldn’t blame her for anything she couldn’t have done. Because even if she’d liked to save you, the damage was already done.
“Fuck it.”
Tara saw you roll your head back and she felt her eyes widen. Finally being grounded and screaming, “No-!” But it was too late, your head saved in on the edge of the surface and you hit the ground with a loud thud. A whimper fell from Tara’s lips as she saw your lifeless eyes stare back at her. Your forehead caved in and your face became unrecognizable by the blood that seeped from the wound.
One of the most important parts of her life was now covered in blood from her lack of assistance that she had no way of helping you through.

Core Five, a stupid but fitting nickname Chad had given your group of friends. Well, it's less fitting now as Sam wasn't present for the group's France getaway. Sam wanted to stay back in New York, as she finally had free time with Danny, her obvious boyfriend, whom she had been dating for the past few months.
Core Four, more fitting and still slightly stupid, who had just arrived at a ski resort in Chamonix, France, were excited to enjoy their much-needed vacation.
"I don't understand why we're wasting a night here. We don't even know how to ski!" Tara complained, watching as you and Chad unloaded the luggage from the car. You chuckle while Mindy wraps an arm around Tara's shoulders, "We'll see your Eiffel Tower later in the week, plus Y/N knows how to ski."
Tara pouted, crossing her arms. You close the trunk of the car with a satisfied thud and turn to face Tara. "Not just me. Chad said he knows as well." Tara narrows her eyes at you, "How on earth does Chad know how to ski? He's lived in California half of his life!"
Chad smiles. "I watched a few TikToks to learn." Tara raises an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. "TikTok? Are you sure that's even a reliable source for learning how to ski?" Chad shrugs playfully. "Well, it's worth a shot, right? Plus, I've always been a quick learner."
Tara looks back at you, her skepticism still evident. You just shrug before saying, "I have faith in Chad."
Chad grins at you. "Thank you. It's about time I received moral respect from my fellow core members." Mindy lets go of Tara, groaning at her brother. "Shut up, Dingus."
You laugh at the playful banter between Chad and Mindy and start making your way to the ski resort. Tara quickly catches up to you, and the two of you walk side by side in comfortable silence.
"If we don't get them together by the end of this trip, I don't know what will," Mindy whispers to her brother, who immediately nods, eager to play matchmaker. They exchange silly grins, ready to take on the challenge of bringing you and Tara closer together.
"Wait, what? You only want me to strap in one foot?" Mindy asks you, confusion evident on her face. You nod, "Yeah, just until we get off the lift." Mindy raises an eyebrow but obliges, strapping only one foot into the snowboard binding.
"Time to get on the lift!" Chad shouts, trying his best to run, but it's kind of hard with his foot attached to his snowboard. Tara giggles at Chad, finding his struggle amusing. She looks over at Mindy and you, who calls out after Chad.
"Hey, Chad! Maybe you should slow down before you—" before you can finish your sentence, Chad falls face-first into the snow, causing a small cloud of powder to billow up around him. Mindy and Tara burst into laughter, while you wobble over to your friend with a huge smile on your face.
Chad rolls over on his back, "Let's just... get on the lift...please." You extend a helping hand to Chad, trying to suppress your laughter. "Sure, man, whatever you say," you smile, trying to hide your amusement. Chad gratefully accepts your assistance, and together you all make your way towards the lift.
"Wanna ride with me, Chad?" you ask, still chuckling. Chad glances at Mindy, who shakes her head, indicating that she wants Tara to ride with you instead. "Uhh, maybe Tara should ride with you instead," Chad suggests, giving you a sheepish smile.
You nod in agreement, realizing that it might be better for Tara to ride with you since you actually do know what you're doing. Tara joins you in the lift, looking a bit nervous but also excited for the ride. As the lift starts moving, you put out a hand for her.
Tara hesitates for a moment before taking your hand. "I got you, T. Don't look so worried." You reassure Tara with a comforting smile, reminding her that you've been snowboarding multiple times before. Tara's grip on your hand tightens slightly while the lift continues to ascend.
She admits, "I've always wanted to try snowboarding, but I'm a little scared of falling, plus I lived in California." You smile, squeezing her hand through your glove.
"Don't worry, Tara. I'll be right there with you every step of the way. And falling is just a part of learning, it happens to everyone." You encourage her, hoping to ease her fears and make her feel more confident about trying something new.
You and Tara get off the lift in sync, and she instantly grabs onto your arm for support. You breathe out a laugh, guiding her towards the beginner slope. "Here, put your foot here so I can fasten your binding. I'll make sure it's nice and secure so you feel stable on the slope."
Tara nods, her hands resting on your shoulders as you kneel down to adjust her binding. "Thanks for being so patient with me," she says, a hint of nervousness in her voice.
You smile reassuringly at Tara and reply, "Of course! Anything for you." You stand up and give Tara a gentle squeeze on the shoulder. You notice the redness on her cheeks, taking it as a sign of the cold weather. But in reality, it was due to the fact that she was blushing at your words.
"Do you want me to adjust your goggles too? Just to make sure your face protected from the wind and snow," you suggest, reaching for her goggles. Tara nods gratefully, allowing you to adjust them snugly around her head. "There you go, all set for a great day on the slopes!"
Tara smiles and thanks you for your help. You smile back, helping her to the beginner's slope. "Oh my god, is that Chad?" Tara exclaims, pointing towards a familiar face in the distance.
"Wait, what the fuck? Why is he actually good at snowboarding?" You squint your eyes to get a better look and notice Chad effortlessly gliding down the slope with impressive skill. "Looks like those TikTok's worked," you remark, surprised by his sudden talent.
"Okay! Your turn. If Chad can do it, you can do it." You encourage Tara, giving her a reassuring pat on the back. "Just remember to stay relaxed, and I'll hold your hand the entire time," you add, confident that she can conquer the beginner's slope like Chad did.
You hold out both of your hands, ready to guide Tara down the slope and provide her with the support she needs. She takes a deep breath and grasps your hands tightly, her snowboard beginning to move down the slope.
"Bend your knees a bit, T!" you shout over the sound of the wind, reminding Tara of the proper snowboarding stance. "Keep your weight centered and let the board glide smoothly. You've got this!"
She follows your instructions, gradually gaining confidence as she glides down the slope. With each turn, she becomes more comfortable and starts to enjoy the adrenaline-rushing experience of snowboarding.
As she gains speed, Tara's smile widens, her excitement evident in her eyes. The rush of the wind against her face and the grasp of your hands against hers make her heart race and her face flush as she sees the happy smile on your face.
You both reach the bottom of the slope, and Tara brings you into a tight embrace. She pulls away, smiling like an idiot. "Oh my god! I did it!" You nod at the shorter girl, pulling up your goggles.
"You did amazing, Tara! See! It wasn't so bad." Tara's cheeks turn a shade of pink as she takes a moment to catch her breath. "I can't believe I—" Tara's words are cut off by Mindy, who waddles to you, breathless and excited. "Guys, that was incredible! I saw the whole thing from the top of the slope!"
Tara's eyes widen in surprise as she looks at Mindy. "You were watching us?" Mindy nods enthusiastically, "Yes! You looked like a power couple out there. Hashtag go Y/ara!"
Tara blushes even deeper at Mindy's comment, and you furrow your eyebrows, confused. "What is Y/ara?" Mindy grins mischievously. "Your ship name, obviously! Keep up with the times, dude."
You chuckle, realizing what Mindy is referring to. "Ah, I see. Y/ara, huh? That's actually kind of catchy." You turn to Tara and give her a playful nudge. "Looks like we have our own ship now, Tara." Tara giggles and playfully rolls her eyes at your comment.
The three of you go back up the slope, meeting up with Chad, who was impatiently waiting for your return. Chad raises an eyebrow at the sight of the three of you. "What took you guys so long?" he asks, a slight smile on his face.
"We were just discussing our new ship name, Y/ara," you explain, grinning. Chad raises his eyebrow and says, "Oh, but Core Five is a bad name." Mindy nods, "It really is. Y/ara is just superior."
Chad chuckles and shakes his head. "I don't know about that, but as long as you all like it, I guess it works," he says, joining in on the playful banter. You turn your head to see a girl struggling to strap her feet onto the board.
"Hey, need a hand?" you offer, walking over to help her. She looks up at you with gratitude and nods, "Thanks, I'm still getting the hang of this." You smile reassuringly and say, "No problem, we all started somewhere."
The girl gives a small smile and says, "Yeah, I guess you're right. It's just a bit intimidating at first." You nod in understanding and reply, "Yeah, but with practice, you'll be gliding down like a pro in no time."
You finish her left foot, moving onto her right. She smiles at you, "I'm Ariana, by the way." You return her smile and introduce yourself. "Nice to meet you, Ariana. I'm Y/N."
Ariana blushes slightly and says, "Thank you, Y/N. I really appreciate your help." You help her to her feet, holding her arms to keep her from falling. "No problem, Ariana. I'm happy to help," you reassure her. As she gains her balance, you let go of her arms and say, "Just remember to take it slow and steady, and maybe you'll be as good as me." you joke, sending the girl a wink.
Ariana giggles and playfully rolls her eyes. "We'll see about that, Y/N. But I'll definitely give it my best shot." She adjusts her posture and takes a deep breath, ready to take on the slope.
You watch as Ariana pushes off and starts skiing down the slope, gracefully maneuvering her way through the twists and turns. Still, getting the hang of this? She was amazing.
"Hey, Doofus! Gonna snap out of your trance already?" Mindy calls out, breaking your concentration.  You blush and quickly turn your attention back to Mindy, trying to hide your embarrassment. "Sorry guys," you mumble, picking up your snowboard from beside Tara, who has her arms crossed and her jaw tightly clenched.
"Hurry, or we'll leave you behind," Tara warns, her tone laced with impatience. You frown slightly, "Sorry. Are we riding the slope again?"
"Tara wanted to go to our room. She said she's tired and wants to take a break from snowboarding for a while. But I'm up for another run if you are." Chad answers, glancing at Tara. "I don't mind taking a break too," you say, trying to diffuse the tension.
You glance at Tara, who doesn't even look your way, before walking in the direction of the lodge. Her jaw is clenched, and her shoulders are tense, indicating her frustration. You exchange a concerned look with Chad, unsure of what has caused Tara's sudden change in mood.
"What'd I do?" you ask Chad, genuinely confused. Chad just sighs, shaking his head as Mindy does the same.
You arrive in your shared room with Tara a few moments later than her, noticing that she has already closed the door behind her. Using your key to unlock the door, your ears pick up on the noise coming from the shower.
You take off your jackets, hang them on the hooks by the door, and sit on the edge of the bed, contemplating whether to address Tara's change in mood or give her some space. You quietly grab your phone and start scrolling through social media, hoping that a little distraction will help pass the time until Tara is ready to talk.
Ten minutes later, Tara walks out with just a towel wrapped around her, her wet hair dripping onto her shoulders. She avoids making eye contact and heads straight to her suitcase to grab some clothes.
Your heart skips a beat. Did she not care that she was basically naked in front of you? You quickly avert your gaze, going back onto your phone to give her some privacy. However, the image of Tara in just a towel lingers in your mind, leaving you feeling both flustered and intrigued.
Quinn messages you, sending you a stupid photo of a funny-looking dog wearing sunglasses.
You let out a sniffle, and Tara mistakes this for a sign of sadness. She turns to you with worry in her eyes, now dressed and throwing her towel on the floor. "Are you okay?"
You raise your head from your phone, smiling. "Oh, yeah. Quinn just texted me." Tara gives you a puzzled look, clearly not understanding why Quinn would even text you knowing you were on vacation. She brushes it off and asks, "What did Quinn send you?"
"Just a stupid photo." You chuckle, putting down your phone. Tara hums in response, making her way towards her own bed. You stand up from yours, standing behind Tara. "Are you okay?"
You ask, concerned about how she acted earlier. Tara turns to face you, a faint smile on her face. "Yeah, I'm fine," she replies softly. "Just a little tired from the long day."
Tara sits down on her bed, staring up at you. "Are you sure that's all?" you ask gently, sensing that there might be something more bothering her. Tara nods, and you narrow your eyes at her, "Mmm...okay."
You decide to trust Tara's response for now, but you can't shake off the feeling that there might be something she's not telling you. Hoping that she will open up when she's ready, you give her a reassuring smile before going to the bathroom to shower yourself.
When you return to the room, you jump on top of Tara, putting your deadweight on her and playfully pinning her down. Tara giggles and squirms under your weight. "Y/N!"
You straddle her, pinning her arms above her head. As you hold her in place, you playfully tease, "Come on, Tara, spill the beans. Is there something you're hiding from me?" Tara's laughter fills the room as she tries to wriggle free from your playful hold.
"I'm not hiding anything." Tara insists, her laughter subsiding as she looks up at you with a mischievous glint in her eyes. You lean down, blowing raspberries on her neck, causing her to erupt in a fit of giggles once again. "Oh, really?" you tease, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes! Really!" Tara protests, managing to break free from your hold and playfully pushing you away. You both collapse onto the end of the bed, catching your breath and still laughing. "Okay, okay," you say, holding up your hands in surrender. "I believe you... for now."
Tara smiles, watching you crawl back towards her. "You know there's another bed, right?" You chuckle, brushing off her comment. "Why would we waste another perfectly good bed when we're having so much fun right here?" you reply playfully, winking at her. Tara's smile widens as she pulls you closer, clearly agreeing with your sentiment.
-
"What are you ordering?" Tara asks you, looking over the menu. "I'm not sure yet," you respond, scanning the options. "But I might get some crepes."
"You look good today," Chad says to you, admiring your outfit. "Thanks," you reply with a grateful smile. Mindy joins in, "Right! You look like you belong in Paris. Don't you think Tara?"
Tara blushes slightly, taking a sip of her drink to hide it. "I think you've both boosted Y/N's ego enough," she says with a playful tone. You laugh, placing a hand on Tara's thigh to reassure her. "Oh, come on, Tara. It's just a little compliment," you say teasingly. Tara playfully swats your hand away, but her smile tells you she appreciates the gesture.
"Êtes-vous prêts à commander?" The waiter interrupts, asking if you are ready to order. You quickly glance at your friends. "Are you guys ready to order?" you ask, hoping they have made up their minds.
Everyone nods, and you proceed to place the orders for the table. The waiter closes her notepad, smiling at you. "Êtes-vous d'ici? Je ne crois pas vous avoir déjà vu."
You laugh, "Euhhh, non." She tilts her head, edging for you to explain further. "Nous ne faisons que visiter. En fait, je viens de New York." The waiter's smile widens as she responds, "Oh, New York! C'est une ville incroyable. Qu'est-ce qui vous amène ici?"
"Juste pour s'amuser." You reply with a playful tone, causing the waiter to chuckle. Tara furrows her eyebrows. She didn't exactly understand the conversation going on between you two, but she knew you had already given the waiter everyone's order, so why was she still here?
"Je pourrais peut-être obtenir votre numéro au cas où vous auriez besoin de quelqu'un pour vous faire visiter les lieux." You raise your eyebrows. Was she allowed to ask such a thing on the clock?
You hesitate for a moment, unsure of how to respond. However, you decide to play along and give her a friendly smile. "Bien sûr. Je suppose, merci."
The waiter smiles wider, ripping a piece of paper from her notepad and handing you a pen. You glance around your table, looking at everyone's reactions to see if they find this interaction as strange as you do. Chad seems amused, while Tara and Mindy appear indifferent. You quickly jot down your number on the paper and hand it back to the waiter, hoping that this won't lead to any awkward encounters in the future.
"Did you just give the waiter your phone number?" Chad asks, raising an eyebrow. You blush and shrug, unsure of how to explain your sudden decision. 'I didn't know what else to do," you mumble, hoping Chad won't tease you about it later.
"Uhh, I don't know? Decline?" Mindy says, rolling her eyes. Tara stays silent, her expression unreadable.
Breakfast continues in an awkward silence as you all try to move past the unexpected moment. The waiter returns with your orders, and you all focus on enjoying your meal, hoping that the incident will soon be forgotten.
When you exit the restaurant, you stand in the middle of the sidewalk, the group trying to decide where to go next. Chad scrolls through his phone, calculating the distance and travel time to various nearby attractions. Mindy suggests going to a local art gallery, while Tara remains quiet, still seemingly lost in her thoughts.
You lift your sunglasses off your face, leaving them perched on top of your head as you grab Tara's hands. Tara stares into your eyes, millions of thoughts going through her mind. She finally breaks the silence, "Are you going to call her?"
You give Tara a reassuring smile and gently squeeze her hands. "No." You simply say. Tara nods, allowing you to pull her into a hug, your bodies swaying back and forth. Tara wraps her arms around you, holding onto you tightly as if she never wants to let go. You place a kiss on the top of her head, not even noticing the group of girls approaching in the distance.
"Excuse me." One of the girls speaks up, catching your attention. Tara breaks away from the hug. Why is it hard to just have one moment of peace with you? You turn towards the group of girls, feeling slightly annoyed at the interruption.
"Can you be in our TikTok?" You raise an eyebrow, slightly taken aback by the unexpected request. "Umm..." Another girl speaks up, "Please. It's just a dancing video. We really admire your style and think you would add a lot to our video." Tara looks at you, waiting for your response.
You consider their request, weighing the pros and cons of joining their TikTok video. On one hand, it could be fun, and it's not every day someone asks you to join one of their TikTok videos. On the other hand, you were enjoying a moment of peace with Tara and didn't want to be interrupted again.
"I can't even dance." You admit smiling. However, the girl reassures you, "Don't worry! You just move your arms in a funny way, it's all about having fun and being silly." You glance at Tara whose head is in her phone.
You frown and say, "Okay." You reluctantly agree, realizing that it might be a good opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. The girls squeal with excitement and begin showing you how to do the dance, it was actually pretty easy.
One of the girls set their phone on the ground, positioning it to record the five of you dancing together. The music starts playing, and you do the stupid dance for about fifteen seconds before the video stops recording.
"Y/N! Where's Tara?" Mindy shouts, looking around frantically.
You look around and realize that Tara is nowhere to be seen. A feeling of worry washes over you as you start searching for her, hoping she didn't wander off too far.
Walking away from the group of girls, you walk to the twins, confused. "She was just here a minute ago. I'm not sure where she could have gone," you say. "Maybe if you weren't filming TikTok's with those girls, you would have noticed when she disappeared," Mindy remarks sarcastically.
You feel a pang of guilt, realizing that you were too caught up in the moment to keep an eye on Tara. "I'll call her."
-
You walk up behind Tara, who is engrossed in taking pictures of the Eiffel Tower, unaware of the panic she has caused. "Tara, we've been looking for you everywhere. We were worried," you say, trying to hide your relief.
"Sorry." Tara mumbles, but you can tell she doesn't mean it.
Tara's nonchalant response only adds to your frustration. You can't help but wonder if she purposely disappeared to get a reaction from everyone.
"Tara, what the hell is your problem?" you blurt out, unable to contain your anger any longer. Tara twists her body, anger flashing in her eyes as she meets your gaze. "My problem? Maybe if you actually paid attention to me once in a while, you would understand," she retorts, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"We're here on vacation, Tara! I'm sorry that I'm not giving you my undivided attention every second of the day!" You yell, feeling your frustration rise.
"Oh, but you can give it to random girls you meet," Tara interrupts, her voice dripping with bitterness. Her words hit you like a punch to the gut, and you struggle to find a response. What?
"...I'm confused?" You stammer, trying to gather your thoughts. "I don't know what you're talking about, Tara. I haven't given my attention to anyone else but you."
Tara scoffs, "Airana? Remember when we were skiing? And then the waiter giving her your number? And just now! Those girls! It's like you're the main attraction in Paris, and it's annoying!"
You feel a pang of guilt as Tara's accusations sink in. The memories of Ariana and the waiter giving her your number flood back, making you realize that perhaps you haven't been as attentive as you thought. But before you can respond, Tara continues to express her frustration, leaving you at a loss for words.
"I wanted to go to Paris and enjoy our time together, but it feels like I'm constantly competing for your attention. I love you, Y/N! And it's so fucking scary because I don't want to lose you, but I also don't want to feel like I'm always fighting for your focus."
"Tara..." you start, walking closer to her. "I love you too. I'm sorry if it seems like I haven't been giving you enough attention, if you didn't notice already, I'm pretty oblivious to things sometimes. It's not that I don't care, it's just that I get caught up in my own thoughts, and I'm a people-pleaser...and maybe a dumbass."
Tara laughs, a small sniffle escaping her. "You're not a dumbass, just a little absent-minded sometimes," she says, wiping away a tear.
"Can I kiss you?" Tara's laughter fades into a warm smile as she nods, her eyes shining with affection. "Of course you can," she replies softly, leaning in closer to meet your lips.
You place a hand on Tara's cheek, feeling the warmth of her skin beneath your fingertips. The kiss is gentle at first but quickly deepens as you pour all of your love and longing into it. The world around you fades away as you lose yourself in the moment, loving the taste of Tara's lips and the softness of her touch.
You pull away slightly, opening your eyes to meet those pretty brown orbs that are filled with desire and adoration. The intensity of the moment leaves you breathless, and you can't help but smile as you realize just how lucky you are to have Tara in your life.
Just as you're about to lean in for another kiss, you hear cheering behind you. "Wooo! Finally!" Mindy shouts, clapping her hands excitedly. You turn around to see Chad and Mindy smiling at the two of you.
You pull Tara into a tight embrace, and she hides her face in your chest. "Are you seriously recording?" You glance at Mindy's phone and see that she indeed has her camera out, capturing the entire moment.
Laughing, you playfully scold Mindy for invading your private moment, but deep down, you're grateful to have such supportive friends who are genuinely happy for you.

Someone Requested and Akina X Male Reader

Tumblr media
You were 22, barely able to drink by most standards but still very Much Legal. You finally started your college courses after two years in the military and a Honorable Discharge after an IED incident that left a few, unhealthy Scars on your body and Psyche. Didn’t stop you from enjoying college life from drinking and girls, but you just felt detached sometimes and it also made it terrifyingly clear how in control you could be of your feelings. Of course that didn’t stop you from constantly being annoyed by your friends, mostly Tara.
It was an after class party that everyone was invited to. The Party was as fun as most College drinking spots were, music, laughing and the clank of glass. Sitting outside on the fire escape a few stories up, your eyes traced along the stars trying to find constellations. Your little tidbit of fun was cut off as you sensed someone walk out on the fire exit too. Akina slumped over to you, also leaning on the railing. Your eyes trail over to look her up and down, she looks worse for wear, definitely not happy, a little drunk, and pissed.
“You look like shit.” You said, “Bite me.” She responds and finishes her beer. She tosses it off the rail and it lands flush in a big Dumpster.
“Nice.” You finish yours and toss it as well. “Alright, what’s got you like this?” You asked, you could tell she was upset, very upset, so something had to be the catalyst to launch this, Anika sighs and clenches her palms hard, as if she’s trying to fight the strength to utter the words.
“Me and, Mindy we.. we broke up.” She admits, this was actually a shock to you. They seemed madly in love, perfect for each other. Relationships obviously have their ups and downs, but you expected them to get married, Adopt.. but this, this is a surprise.
“Oh, wow.. I uh, I’m sorry.” You mutter. Akina shrugs and casually leans her body on your shoulder. There was no Mistake about Anika she’s beautiful, she’s always been beautiful. You hide your racing heart and let it happen, being a shoulder for your friend to cry or pass out on. Reaching down you grab another beer from the tiny ice chest and drink.
“So, what happened?” You ask, and Anika shrugs. “I’m just… tired, we almost got killed by a fuckin cop, his bitch sister and That Loser Ethan…” she admits, and it was true, and for two of the three, you’re the one that put The cop and Ethan 6 feet under. Not like you had much of a choice. “And now she’s acting like everything’s fine. You’re acting like everything’s fine.” She said, obviously getting frustrated.
“I’m just… still a little in Shock I guess, sorry bout that.” You said, “It’s okay to not be okay Anika.. let your feelings be known.” You encourage her, she looks down, fiddling with her fingers. “You’re such a fucking Sap, I love that about you… I love you.” She said in a bit of a slur. You gave her a bit of a side eye for a moment before you leaned more on the railing.
“Thanks Anika… “ you tried not to let her words creep in, she’s not in the right mind. “No, I mean it… you, wanna get out of here?” She asked, you knew what she wanted but stuck to your guns. “Alright, think that’s enough for you.” You said joking. Anika frowns, but then looks you right in your eyes.
“It’s Tara, isn’t it?” She said, and it was. You and Tara aren’t dating but, you felt something for her, you couldn’t tell her. You just couldn’t build up the courage to admit it, but your silence spoke a lot to her. Akina laughed and looked back to the night sky.
“You know, if you two start dating you’re gonna have some big issues.” She started, and you took a swig. “Like what?” You said placing your lips on the bottles head. Akina leans in and whispers, just to make sure you hear her.
“Gonna be tough parking that big trunk in that little garage she’s got.” Your drink went down the wrong hole, coughing up a storm you try to catch your breath as she laughs.
“Jesus you trying to kill me?” You said, shaking it off. She gives a slight pout. “Sorry, didn’t mean to. You alright?” She asked with concern in her voice, you nodded. You and Akina sort of just went back to looking at the sky. Until her hand gently laid on yours.
“When I was on that ladder I thought I was gonna die, you made sure I didn’t..” she said.
“Of course… I wouldn’t let you go.” You reply, and Akina took a deep breathes.
“Please, Don’t let me go.” She said, and you kept your word, holding her hand as you both look up to the sky.

POV You
New York has always been my home, my safe place. The hustle and bustle of the streets during the day and the background noise 24/7 relax me in a strange way. Born and raised on the Upper East Side, in Manhattan, and I know the city like the back of my hand.
My life felt like the one in the movies, when the protagonists explore and live every part of New York. Sometimes I even feel like I live inside the Gossip Girl series and that everything is perfect.
But let's face it, nothing is perfect and happiness is not eternal.
Yes, I live in a 300 square meter duplex and also, in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in all of New York. But what is the use of having such a big house, when your parents are never home and you are an only child.
Because one thing is clear and that is that to live where I do, you have to have money and a lot of it. But for my parents that has never been a problem.
Both my mother and father come from wealthy families, but other than that; my father is one of the best surgeons in the entire state and my mother has her own law firm. So the two generate a good sum of money.
But that also means one thing: travel. My parents have spent their lives traveling from one part of the state to another, either because the clients are very important or because of some kind of congress or some of those things.
But in their defense I have to say that they always call me to find out how I am, they are interested and concerned about me. In addition to the fact that when they are at home, they usually try to spend as much time as possible with me and try to be there for me.
And now that I'm in college, I'm officially living alone. My parents thought that I would like to have my own apartment and decided to buy me a flat for my birthday. Of course, it is a ten minute walk from where they lived and thus be close in case I need anything.
Although first they would have to be at home to help me, but I don't object since they let me choose the floor and the decoration.
XX: Hey .- I hear someone greet me, taking me out of my thoughts and returning me to reality.
I turn my head to the right, meeting the person who greeted me and I can't help but smile at his presence.
Y/n: Hello.- I greet with a huge smile full of emotion, causing the other person to laugh and sit next to me in class.
XX: What makes you so happy? - she asks me funny leaving her bag on the table.
Y/n: My girlfriend.- I answer shrugging my shoulders.
XX: Oh yes? - she asks me with too much interest and I nod. -And do I know her?- she asks resting her elbow on the table and her chin in the palm of her hand watching me.
Y/n: I don't know, maybe.- I answer with a grimace imitating her posture. -She has almost black dark brown hair, she has brown eyes, she is super intelligent, she has the most beautiful smile in the world and she is 1.55 cm tall. Do you know her? - I ask her funny.
XX: I'm not sure.- she says with a thoughtful face. -The description seems familiar to me, but I don't fall for it.- she denies with false disappointment.
Y/n: What a pity, because I was thinking of inviting her to eat and to see a movie, but I haven't seen her so nothing.- I comment letting out a fake sad sigh.
XX: Well, invite me then.- she suggests with an amused smile.
Y/n: I'm sorry Carpenter, but I'm a faithful man.- I shake my head, holding back my laughter and looking away.
Tara: Idiot.- she slaps me gently on the shoulder, letting out a laugh and causing me to do it too.
Y/n: But you like me that way.- I assure her with a smile, placing a lock of hair behind her ear and caressing her cheek affectionately.
Tara: Unfortunately.- she whispers frustrated rolling her eyes.
Y/n: Hey! - I exclaim offended, sitting upright in my chair and looking at her with crossed arms.
Tara: Just kidding.- she laughs hugging my neck and getting me closer to her. -I like you very, very, very much.- she assures me a few centimeters from my face.
Y/n: I don't know, I´m not sure.- I say with narrowed eyes. -You don't convince me.- I deny holding the smile that struggles to come to light.
Tara: And what can I do to convince you? - she asks a few centimeters from my lips and with an intense look.
Y/n: Food and a movie? - I ask appreciating her face in detail, or how little I can see with her closeness. -They have premiered a quite passable comedy.- I warn her with a slight smile, knowing that because of her past, the scary ones are a resounding NO and I understand it perfectly.
Tara: I can't.- she denies with a slight grimace and my smile disappears. - Mindy wants to try a new restaurant and if I disappear for a whole afternoon Sam would go crazy.- she explains and I nod.
Y/n: Maybe another day .- I sigh a little sadly, since we don't usually have many opportunities to spend time together and the truth is that I wanted to spend some time with her.
Tara: I promise you that this week we'll go eat together, okay? - she tells me and I nod again. -Thank you for understanding.- she whispers affectionately, before joining our lips and moving them slowly.
The kiss doesn't last long, as the teacher enters the class and everyone sits in their places. As the teacher explains today's material, I can't help but tune out what he says and think about my relationship.
I met Tara on the first day of class six months ago, when I was late because of traffic and the only free seat was next to her.
In the beginning, she always kept quiet and never spoke to me unless it was strictly necessary. But in the third week, they asked us to do a job in pairs and because we were sitting next to each other we had to do the work together.
In addition to the fact that she did not have many other options, since if she spoke to me only what was necessary, she had not even told her name to the rest of the class. So really I was her only option to do the job with.
During the first days when we did the work, Tara always kept a certain distance and limited herself to only talking about the work. At no time did she show interest in me as a person and in getting to know me.
So to avoid making her uncomfortable, I never asked her anything personal or anything that wasn't about work. And clearly, i didn´t tell her anything about myself either.
But at some point during the job, she began to feel more comfortable and became a little closer. She even came to ask me about my life and has told me some things about hers.
Two weeks later, though, Tara would admit to me that she had lied to me about a few things, like that she wasn't really from Michigan but from Woodsboro and that the scar on her hand didn't come from a kitchen accident, but that someone had attacked her disguised as Ghostface half a year ago or so.
At first I was surprised by her story and she apologized for lying to me, but she didn't feel safe to tell me the truth until that moment. I understood, since it doesn't have to be pleasant to live that experience and have someone as close as your best friend try to kill you.
That makes anyone distrust all the people they know and those they will meet at some point in their life.
So I didn't give it any importance and I didn't ask her any questions on the subject. Mostly because I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable or stop talking to me forever.
From the first moment I thought that Tara was a very pretty girl, but with time and getting to know her a bit more, I cannot deny that certain feelings began to surface.
So I didn't want her to freak out over some stupid question i did and decided I wasn't to be trusted or something like that and then stop talking to me.
Although the unthinkable happened two weeks later, when we said goodbye after class I went to kiss her on the cheek and she accidentally moved, causing me to kiss her on the lips.
We were both shocked and embarrassed at the moment, but she just asked me if I would be interested in a coffee one day and a week later we were a couple.
Couple now of four and a half months more or less. And even though I couldn't be happier and feel like the luckiest man in my life, to have the most wonderful woman in the world as my girlfriend. Not everything is so perfect and happy.
It took a while for Tara to be completely alone and vulnerable with me. Which I understood perfectly and always let her decide the place of our dates.
On the other hand, it is also the fact that nobody knows that we are together or even that we are friends. I'm lying. No one of her friends and sister know that we are a couple or that we even know each other.
At first, the privacy of our relationship was understandable, since as I said before, because of her past it was difficult for her to trust people and something similar happened to her friends. But her sister was somewhat more possessive or at least that's what my girlfriend always tells me.
When I've asked her why we still keep our relationship or even friendship a secret, the answer is always the same: Sam.
She says that she is very overprotective and that she is always trying to control her. Besides, she doesn't trust new people, let alone love interests, since her ex-boyfriend was one of the murderers last year.
So her sister Sam's reason was quite understandable from my point of view, since at the end of the day all she wants is to protect her sister and make sure she's safe .
But that means that the time I spend with Tara, my girlfriend, is very limited and seems to always be timed.
I'm never going to complain about it, but it's hard for me to see couples making plans and spending time together, when I can't spend more than half an hour with my own girlfriend without someone texting her to find out where she is or if she is safe.
Every time I propose a plan, whether it's to eat something after classes, go for a walk or go to a cafeteria for a coffee, most of the time the answer is negative.
I don't even know how many times she has canceled me and promised to do the plan another day. At first I kept count unconsciously and tried to take her word for it. But over time I have stopped doing it.
It's sad and painful to tell the truth, especially when my friends; who do know that I have a girlfriend, ask me about her and about  when they will meet her and stuff like that.
But I really like Tara and although this situation hurts me at times, she is worth it.
And who knows, maybe at some point she will get encouraged and introduce me to her friends as her boyfriend, or like a friend at least.
POV Tara
I leave my last class of the day, kissing my boyfriend goodbye and walking to where I know my friends are waiting for me.
I can't help but feel bad for rejecting Y/n's plan, because it's not the first time I've done it and I'm sure it won't be the last. I feel guilty for not giving him the time he deserves and even more so seeing how thoughtful he's been during class.
Y/n is the perfect guy and I don't understand how lucky I've been to meet him. He is attentive, calm, a bit of an idiot; but in a good way, he is affectionate, funny, he gives me my space and always respects my limits.
He didn't even get angry when I admitted that I had lied to him about most of the things I told him about myself, and he didn't stop treating me differently when he found out the truth.
He continued to treat me in the same respectful and kind way he had done since the day we met. And I think that was one of the things that made me fall in love with him.
But lately I'm being the worst girlfriend in the world. Between working on other subjects, my friends who have been too present in my plans lately, and my sister who doesn't let me breathe, I don't have a free moment to be with him.
Because let's face it, there would be nothing I would want more than to go eat something with him and then cuddle against him watching a movie. Because he doesn't remind me of Woodsboro, doesn't overprotect me or control me like I'm going to get jumped at any moment. He treats me like a normal person without a traumatic past and i love that.
With him I feel calm, I feel happy and normal. With him I'm just Tara Carpenter the girl he likes, not Tara Carpenter the survivor of Ghostface, the Tara who was betrayed by her own best friend and tried to kill her three times. And that's another reason why I adore him.
Mindy: There 's my girl!- she exclaims when she sees me nearby.
Anika: Hey! - she claims, slapping her on the arm. -I'm your girl.- she reminds her with an amused smile.
Mindy: Don't worry babe, there's Mindy for everyone.- she assures her with a smile, putting her arm around her shoulders and bringing her closer to her body.
Chad: Besides, Tara's my girl.- he says jokingly, putting his arm around my shoulders and winking at me.
Ethan: Are you guys together?- He asks pointing at Chad and me with confusion and something else that I can't make out in his eyes.
Mindy: He wish.- she laughs at the question and the rest except Ethan and Chad laugh.
Quinn: Tara is a too much of a woman for Chad.- My roommate supports my best friend and they high five.
Chad: Hey! - He exclaims offended and I come out from under his shoulder.
Tara: And if it's not clear, no Ethan, we're not together.- I reply to the shy boy laughing with my friends.
Ethan: Oh, like .. you , you know.- he says nervously, pointing to where his roommate is and where I had been a few moments ago.
Tara: Well no.- I answer with a friendly smile. -And … Are we leaving or not?- I ask wanting to change the subject.
Mindy : Yessss .- she answers with her arms in the air. -I've heard that it's one of the best Mexicans in all of New York and that its tacos are to die for.- she tells us excitedly, starting to walk and heading towards the restaurant she's been talking about for days.
Chad: Changing the subject completely - he starts while we're walking as a group. -Tomorrow is Friday and Halloween .- he hums happily.
Tara: I doubt that Sam will let me out no matter how much it's Halloween or Christmas. - I deny crossing my arms, angry with my sister and her way of controlling everything I do.
Chad: Oh come on Carpenter, are you not going to your first college Halloween party because your sister forbids you? - he asks me with a false pout.
Anika: Chad, leave her alone.- she tells her girlfriend's brother in my defense.
Chad: It's our time to enjoy.- he assures us with a huge smile. -Fuck Sam and let's enjoy that we're still alive! - he exclaims trying to convince us.
Mindy: I keep wondering how come your brain hasn't had a short circuit with all the nonsense you say.- she tells her brother with a frown and a little amusement .
Chad: Because I'm right and you know it.- He points at her with a contagious smile.
As the brothers start poking each other, I'm left thinking and Chad has a point. I've been in New York for six months and I haven't been to any college party or event other than classes because of Sam.
That is to say, I can't even arrive home more than an hour late after class, because if I arrive a little later, my cell phone is already burning and organizing a search team.
My boyfriend hasn't even been to my apartment, because my sister would go crazy that I have a close friend and even more if she finds out he's my boyfriend. I mean, there's a reason I haven't told Sam that I have a boyfriend.
Tara: As much as it pains me to say it, Chad is right.- I interrupt the twins, causing everyone's attention to be on me and some to look at me in surprise.
Chad: What did you say? - he asks me with an amused smile, placing his hand next to his ear and bringing him closer to me .
Tara: You're right.- I growled amused. -Sam has her psychologist on Fridays, so she won't be home to know if I'm going out or not.- I commented with a look full of security.
Chad: Yes ! - he exclaims happily punching the air. -Party? - he asks me with a smile full of emotion.
Tara: Party.- i agree with a smile.
Mindy : Sounds good to me.- she nods, shrugging her shoulders and starts to talk about costumes.
As we all start talking about costume ideas and tomorrow's plan. Quinn tells us that she can't go, since she has a date with a guy from tinder and knowing her, I know well not to be home tomorrow.
While Chad tells us about the parties that there will be and the different fraternities that give them, I secretly take out my cell phone and look for a contact in my messages.
I find the contact immediately, entering the chat and letting Y/n know about my plans for tomorrow.
The answer is not long in coming and the smile on my face increases in size unconsciously. He tells me that his friends are also going to the same party and that he had no intention of going out. But now that he knows I'm going out, he assures me that he will find a costume and that he will see me at the party tomorrow without fail.
I couldn't be more excited right now. Tomorrow I'm going out with my party friends, without Sam and her excessive control. I will see my boyfriend and I plan to take advantage of a moment of inattention on the part of my friends, to spend time with him and enjoy the party by his side.
And who knows. Maybe after the party, I can sneak him into my apartment and do what I've been wanting to do for a while now.
