my problem is I want to watch a STUPID STUPID show that has a distinct layer of detachment from reality, with sometimes occasional flashes of brilliance... but mostly is just stupid

haikyuu ships but its things about their relationships or moments that I think would surprise their friends/teammates
starting off with my boys Daisuga: honestly definitely the rest of the team forgets that they haven't been together forever, and are never expecting when either of them are acting like, well, teenagers in a relationship. Specifically in regards to being shy in front of each other or wanting to impress each other, the rest of the team always is surprised by it because in their mind, like, why are you feeling insecure in this relationship I thought you've been dating for 2 years and Suga is just like "try 3 months BITCH now I need you to find out what his favourite kind of chocolate is I'll pay you real money if he doesnt realize why you're asking."
right along to Kagehina and honestly, literally even just realizing they have a normal relationship. I think everyone absolutely understands how they got together, but I imagine the first time ANYONE sees them out in public together they ALL have a moment thats like "oh shit they like... are actually dating" and every time Kagehina is just like... on a lunch date, or going shopping, walking a dog, just chatting. Like people are surprised that they genuinely spend time together outside of sports. The first time Kageyama goes with Hinata as his date to a family wedding the entire family is flabberghasted bc they definitely thought this was an on-court obsession only
Iwaoi is really simple, literally just people realizing that Iwaizumi has genuine romantic affection towards him is the funniest thing to me. There's a week where Iwaoi is worried bc Iwa had to go to school with a hickey on his neck but literally NOBODY bats an eye or even mentions it because "yeah Oikawa obviously-" but when theyre changing for practice and they see that Oikawa has a hickey on his neck the entire team goes feral and practically tackles Iwaizumi like "you committed to kissing him for that long?????? YOU?????" like they cannot comprehend Iwaizumi actively participating. (obviously this is also the only time they every see Iwazumi embarassed enough to visibly blush which only compounds things.)
Bokuaka's is so stupid but honestly - the first moment the team realizes that Akaashi is, like, attracted to Bokuto and isnt just his best friend that got carried away. Konoha catches Akaashi checking out Bokuto's ass as he's leaving the changing room and it legitimately ruins Konoha's day. What is he supposed to do with this information.
To be completely fair, Ushiten as a concept probably absolutely baffles the entire Shiratorizawa team for multiple reasons. I think though the obvious one is that the rest of the team cannot understand how little Ushijima is bothered by any of Tendou's antics, where Tendou is VRRY touchy and goofy and lots of PDA and affection and Ushijima is completely receptive and unbothered by it, if not going out of his way to intentionally make Tendou laugh to invite him to more. Like Tendou absolutely would sit on his lap during lunch and Reon would be sitting there losing his mind bc last time he sat too close to Ushijima he got a lecture on personal space. Oh, but now suddenly he's super chill and relaxed and nothing bothers him its tendou doing it.
Asanoya's is a little sad tbh but I think, specifically the second and first years, would be surprised by how serious Noya is about the relationship and how little he tolerates jokes about them being opposites/a surprising pair or any of that. Like theyre shocked to find out how seriously he's taking being a boyfriend and really trying to make sure Asahi is happy. The idea that it isnt superficial or just for fun for him is surprising to them.
Arankita - in a comedy of errors Atsumu accidentally finds out they they are ~no longer virgins~ and legitimately has to leave practice for 20 minutes. There's a piece of him, and the rest of the team, that had 100% believed Kita was a robot and they just.... the idea that this was something that happened organically and not for "procreation" doesnt fit in their worldview. Kita smacks the next person who brings it up and that ends the conversation.

“Stop practicing and come eat!” shouted Jin for the fifth time.
You were all at the studio rehearsing a few new choreos for an upcoming performance. It was now 8:00 pm, and the delivery guy just came in with his precious cargo. As soon as the good smell of the local Korean meals filtered into the room, your seven friends instantly stopped what they were doing to rush on the food like starved men.
“Y/N! Come before Taehyung eats everything!” urged Yoongi. You faintly heard him scold his younger brother, as he was probably trying to steal said food.
“Won’t be long. Just let me get this last move right!”
Still in the dance studio part of the room, you just couldn’t be satisfied with the execution of a certain move. It wasn’t precise enough, and you couldn’t eat without having this part right. It would be a defining moment in this new choreo you created for the boys, so you had to get it right.
Minutes passed, bowls emptied themselves, and you still hadn’t eaten anything.
“Y/N, stop it now. Too much is like not enough!” advised Joon with his father-like tone. His concern and the smell of the delicious food almost made you stop, but you took a deep breath to focus and went back to dancing without a word.
“Tae has gotten to the bowl of samgyeopsal!” tried J-Hope to make you rush in to get your hands on your favorite dish.
“Mmmmmm, SO GOOD!” added the boy while making huge slurping sounds, though you weren’t sure if those disgusted you more than they made you envy him.
They sat still, waiting to see if you would stop your tireless rehearsing, but you were so intent on doing it perfectly that it felt like they didn’t even exist.
“They really won’t come to eat.” pouted Jimin while he looked at Namjoon with the saddest puppy eyes.
“Makes me think of someone,” mumbled Yoongi, not without earning an annoyed sigh from the talented dancer.
“Alright, Jungkook, I think we need to take drastic measures.” sighed Joonie, already wincing at the idea of your reaction.
The youngest boy simply nodded, finished his bite, and headed out of the little room without saying a word. The other boys stared at the door, waiting for what was coming. It started with the music stopping abruptly, then you whining, “Oh please, one last time! I was starting to get it. AH JUNGKOOK LET ME DOWN! JEON JEONGGUK!” Some laughed, but they all winced when you started screaming like a lunatic. Jungkook entered the room with you thrown over his shoulder, screaming and whacking his back. He dropped you on a chair and went to his plate with the most unbothered expression. You opened your mouth to start whining again, but Jimin and Tae were faster and stopped you by dropping a steaming portion on your plate.
“Eat. You don’t want to overwork yourself, don’t you?” encouraged Jimin with a caring look. You reluctantly looked at the bowl he nudged in front of you.
“And if you faint, you will forget all the progress you have made, and you will be back to step one,” mocked Yoongi with his nose still in his plate. You rolled your eyes at his remark but still felt a pang of stress from the thought.
“Funny, but seriously," You started getting up. "One more time, and I’ll-”
You were cut short by a pretty mad Jungkook as he reached for your wrist across the table.
“If you get up one more time before you’ve eaten all of this goddamn plate. I will tie you down to this chair and feed you each bite until you’re done, and I won’t be gentle this time.”
He uttered his threat in a growl, and just at the thought you gave up, suddenly plopping down on your chair. Once he felt your body relaxing he let go of your hand, still looking at you, then at the bowl until you ate four big spoonfuls of the dish. Only then did he focus again on his own, going back to being the cute little bunny he was. All the other members stared silently at you guys, too shocked to say a word. Until they exploded in laughter, you and Jungkook quickly joining in. The bantering followed right after, the atmosphere finally lightening up.
“Don’t be upset Y/N. We just want you to be okay and healthy, but don’t worry we'll help you with the choreo,” assured Jimin as he stood up, finished with his plate, and encouraged you to follow through.
“Thank you, but… I still have some food left, and I don’t want Jungkook to put his threat into execution.”
They all laughed at your comment as the brown-eyed boy on the other side of the table shot you a huge bunny-like smile.

the language of flowers | lsm
Tumblr media
pairing: lee seokmin x f! reader genre: flower shop! au (seventeen), tattoo shop! au (nct), rivalry (slightly subverted), fluff, angst, comedy word count: 10.0k summary: you have a big, fat crush on the owner of the flower shop across the street but there are two pretty big problems: you’re pretty certain he has a girlfriend and both of your staff hate each other’s guts. warning(s): cursing, very suggestive content (tipsy almost-sex, sexual references and allusions, etc.), reader has some tattoos, insults and slander between both shops (everyone kind of acts like a jerk to one another), seokmin lifts reader off the ground, unedited   author’s note: wow, this was a doozy! i didn’t expect it to get this long tbh and i definitely should have been working on a paper instead of writing this but seokmin has really been hitting different to me recently, so this was born out of that!  playlist: fallin’ flower by seventeen • call out my name by the weeknd • take a chance on me by niki • tattoos together by lauv • la vie en rose by édith piaf
Tumblr media
You weren’t sure when the whole Neo Tattoos and Piercings versus Fallin’ Flower rivalry happened but what you were a hundred percent sure about was that it started with Donghyuck. You loved him like a little brother but you knew it had something to do with one of the flower shop employees spilling something on Donghyuck one day when he was in a foul mood. And Donghyuck in a bad mood was something none really wanted to deal with.
Or maybe it started when Doyoung made some off-handed comment about how little effort it took to create wedding bouquets versus tattooing and piercing.
Or maybe it was because Yuta and Mark laughed very loudly when one of the flower shop workers, you were pretty sure his name was Hansol, pulled on their push door.
Okay, maybe you weren’t a hundred percent sure how this mess all started.
You did think the owner, Lee Seokmin, was pretty cute though. He had been extremely friendly the first day he had opened his store, coming across the street to introduce himself and you welcomed him to the neighborhood. You even invited him to grab some lunch the next day and that meal together had you smitten, embarrassingly so.
So this supposed ‘rivalry’ between your store really threw a wrench in your plan to ask him out.
“Do you see this shit?” growled Donghyuck as he practically flung the door to your shop open. “They’re opening a cafe in that flower shop!”
“Seriously?” Mark asked, rushing to your storefront to peer out. “Oh, shit, they are!”
“Did you think I was lying?”
“I don’t know, Hyuck, you kind of have a track record for that.”
“Fuck you, Mark Lee, this is why you get no bitches.”
“Fuck you, I do get bitches!”
“Children, children, calm down,” Johnny cooed mockingly. You caught Taeil’s eye and you both rolled your eyes.
“Doyoung, what’s on schedule for today?” you asked and your staff quieted down to listen to Doyoung, one of your receptionists and schedulers along with Jungwoo and Taeil.
“Johnny, Chanyeol’s coming in today to finish his tattoo at ten-thirty. Taeyong, you’ve got two new clients at eleven and at three today; the first one’s not sure what she wants so you’ll have to help her with that. Jaehyun’s got a helix piercing at one, and Yuta has a septum piercing a two, another one twenty minutes later, and then a belly button piercing at four. Mark, you’re shadowing Yuta—”
Yuta cheered a little, lunging at Mark and squeezing him in a hug. You all snickered at the way Mark flailed a little before wrapping his arms around Yuta to return the embrace. “—and Donghyuck, you’re with Johnny today.” Doyoung pointed at you and said, “Soojin’s coming into get a tattoo at eleven today too.”
You grinned at Taeyong and Johnny. “Guess we’ll be working side-by-side today.” They smiled back at you, Johnny opening his mouth to say something but there was a knock at your door and everyone looked up, faces immediately darkening.
Seokmin stood outside, unperturbed by the glares coming his way, and you rolled your eyes at your staff members as you walked over to the door and stepped out. “Hey!”
“Hi!” Seokmin chirped. He jabbed his thumb back at Fallin’ Flower. “We just opened a coffee shop inside so I wanted to bring you something to try. You like an iced latte, right?”
“I can’t believe you remembered,” you said as he handed you an iced latte and a slice of cinnamon coffee cake wrapped in wax paper. “Thanks so much, this was so sweet.” He slipped a single flower in with his gifts.
“What’s this?” you asked, wiggling the flower in your hand.
“A white gardenia,” Seokmin said. “We just got some in today.”
“It’s beautiful, thank you. You’re really too sweet,” you said, feeling your face warm.
He chuckled and you could have sworn his ears were pink. “You deserve it all,” he said.
Someone cleared their throat behind you and you peeked over your shoulder to see Jaehyun leaning against the closed door. Even with his arms crossed, it was clear he was trying to make himself look larger and more intimidating, which was a pretty simple feat for Jaehyun given that he was already both of those things to a lot of people. He frowned and said, “We should get ready for opening.”
Seokmin chuckled, taking a step back from you. “I got it,” he said. “We should get ready to open too.”
“I’ll see you around,” you said. Seokmin nodded and smiled brightly, which had your heart thumping.
Jaehyun snorted and you glared at him. “What is your problem?”
“What’s my problem?” he asked. “You’re fraternizing with the enemy.”
“How is the flower shop an enemy? We don’t even have the same clients.”
Jaehyun huffed and didn’t respond, electing to open the door and let you duck under his arm to go back inside. Yuta scoffed, “Who does he think he is?”
“Right?” Jungwoo grumbled.
“Okay, everyone’s got to lay off them,” you said.
“We’ll back off when they do,” hissed Donghyuck. “That Chan fucker said our shop always looked dirty yesterday.”
“And what’s-his-face… Soonyoung said tattoo artists—”
“I couldn’t care less about what they said,” you said. “I told Jae this outside already — we don’t share the same clients, so there’s no loss of revenue. I know that there have been incidents in the past that have bred some weird hatred but I need you all to be professionals like I know you all are. No more of this today, do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Good. We’re opening in five, so everyone should get to their stations and get ready.”
Everyone scuttled off to where they needed to go and you sighed, sitting at your station and setting your coffee and the flower aside. You practically inhaled the coffee cake Seokmin gave you. It was perfect, just the right amount of sweetness without it being overpowering. You took another bite and sipped a bit of your coffee and you finally understood why coffee cake was called coffee cake. The pairing was heavenly.
“You sure he didn’t poison that?” Johnny asked. You gave him an exasperated look and he said, “I’m kidding… mostly.”
He said, “We’re not doing it to cause trouble. We’re just protective of one another and of the shop.”
You ran a hand down your face. “I know, I know. And I’m sure the guys across the street are the same.”
Johnny shrugged and you said, “I just need you guys to tone it down. We can’t have this petty feud hurt business.”
“We’ll be on the best behavior we can be.”
You said, “You realize that that’s not a high bar, right?”
Johnny laughed and Taeil led Chanyeol inside for the first appointment of the day.
Before you knew it, you were sitting on your stool, bent over Soojin’s arm as you did the linework for her new tattoo — the moon with some stars dotted around it. She was talking with you as well as Chanyeol and Johnny at the station beside you. You half-listened to her and Chanyeol talk about a concert they were both at the night before but didn’t know the other was there while you listened to Taeyong patiently talk through the steps of getting a tattoo to his new client.
You rolled your chair over to take a sip of your coffee quickly before resuming Soojin’s tattoo. She asked, “Is that from the new cafe in the flower shop?”
“Yeah!”
“I was thinking of going over there after my tattoo. Do you like their stuff?”
The shop went eerily quiet with only the buzzing of yours, Taeyong, and Johnny’s tattoo guns making any noise. Yuta and Jaehyun had stopped chatting, and Donghyuck and Mark stopped bickering. You felt your eye twitch. Were they all fucking serious?
“Yeah, I really like it,” you said and you heard a sharp inhale of breath a few feet behind you. “And the owner is lovely.”
Something like a snort came from the corner. You focused only on Soojin and said, “I definitely think you should check it out.”
“I think I will,” she said, “because I’m really jealous of your coffee.”
“You can take a sip if you want?”
“Really? Can I?”
“I’ve injected ink into your skin for hours, Soojin, I’d say we’re good enough friends for you to share a drink.”
She giggled and reached over with the arm that wasn’t getting tattooed to take a sip. “Shit, this is good.”
You hummed in agreement and looked over your shoulder, pointedly glaring at your staff. They immediately went back to what they were doing but the energy in your store definitely dropped. If you had any free hand, you would be massaging your temples in frustration right now.
Soojin’s tattoo took about an hour and she gleefully told you how much she loved it and loved you. You gave her whatever she needed for aftercare and watched as she crossed the street to Fallin’ Flower. Doyoung said, “Still think they’re not competition?”
“No, I don’t because they’re not curbing revenue from us.”
“Maybe we should open a cafe,” said Jungwoo.
You snorted, “Who would run it? Mark can’t even cook an egg, much less make a tulip out of crema and steamed milk.”
“Hey!” Mark shouted from the back. “You promised not to bring that up again!”
You heard Johnny ask, “Didn’t Gordon Ramsey respond to the tweet Donghyuck posted about that?”
“You all suck.”
Tumblr media
It was around four in the evening and you were busy shoving chicken lo mein into your mouth with Jaehyun, Johnny, Taeyong, and Donghyuck in the break room when you thought you heard the entrance bell jingle. You had had a bunch of walk-ins throughout the day; seven people looking to get pierced and five wanting tattoos. And one was a hookup from a few nights ago that Jaehyun didn’t call back, which had you all either laughing at Jaehyun or giving him looks while he ushered her outside, his ears bright red.
Taeil opened the break room door and said, “There’s a woman here asking for you.”
“Me?” you asked, putting your takeout container down on a side table.
Johnny snickered, “Is it a hookup you didn’t call back?” Jaehyun threw a wrapped fortune cookie at Johnny’s head with a “Fuck you” accompanying it.
“I don’t think so,” you chuckled, following Taeil to the front of the shop.
The woman was making small talk with Doyoung and Jungwoo, and she brightened up when she saw you. “Hi,” she said, “I’m Yuna and I was wondering if you had time to tattoo me today.”
“We do,” you said. “It’s nice to meet you, Yuna. Do you know what you’re looking for?”
She nodded and pulled out her phone, showing you a photo of the word ‘first’ in elegant script. “A friend of mine recommended you specifically to do it.”
“I’m flattered,” you said. “Is this your first time getting a tattoo?”
She nodded and you said, “I’ll walk you through the process and then we’ll get started.”
You wrote out the stencil, showing it to Yuna, who clapped her hands and said, “It’s perfect!” She chose to place the tattoo on the back of her arm, right above the bone of her elbow. You had her fill out the paperwork and settle up payment, cleaned the area on the back of her left arm, and reaffirmed that it was exactly where she wanted it placed.
The tattoo didn’t take long given that it was just black lettering, no shading or coloring necessary. As you dressed the tattoo and gave her instructions on how to take care of it, you asked, “Can I ask who recommended me to you for tattooing?”
She replied, “Dokyeom did.”
You raised an eyebrow. “I don’t think I know a Dokyeom.”
“Oh!” She said, “Sorry, you probably know him as Seokmin. Dokyeom was his nickname back in high school.”
Something ugly twisted in your gut. “Got it,” you said. “That was very kind of him.”
Yuna nodded and said, “He’s the sweetest.”
“He is.” For some reason, the words felt bitter on your tongue.
“Thanks so much again,” Yuna chirped, giving you a bright smile. You did your best to return it despite the pit in your stomach. You wanted to ask her more about Seokmin and how they knew each other and what they were to one another but were scared, frankly, scared of the answer.
The day flew by with a couple of more walk-ins asking for various piercings and tattoos. When the clock hit eight, Jungwoo flipped the sign on the door from ‘open’ to ‘close.’ Taeyong stood up and stretched his arms above his head, sighing in satisfaction when he heard cracks and pops. Doyoung commented, “That’s how you know you’re getting old.”
Taeyong shot him a glare. “Sleep with one eye open, Doyoung, I know where you live.”
“Oh, I’m so scared.”
“What’s he doing here?” Yuta hissed and you all followed his gaze to the door, where Seokmin stood outside with a vase of flowers. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Johnny move to get the door so you hurried over quickly, opening it first.
“You need anything?”
Seokmin shook his head and held out the vase of flowers to you. “No, but I wanted to thank you for taking good care of Yuna today. She was kind of nervous to get her first tattoo and she told me just how amazing you were with her and how you made her feel so comfortable.”
That ugly feeling reared it head again as you accepted the vase. “Just doing my job.” You glanced at the flowers and asked, “What are these?”
“Yellow lilies,” he replied.
You nodded. “Thanks.” The word came out much more curt than you intended it to be and you caught the flash of surprise go across Seokmin’s face before it melted back into his warm smile.
“Just doing my job,” he parroted back at you. You wanted to give him a nicer smile but the question about just who Yuna was to him and who he was to her were still plaguing your mind. The two of you stood there in an awkward silence — a rare occurrence for someone like Seokmin — before he piped up quietly, “I’ll see you Monday, then.”
“Yeah, see you.” You retreated back into your store and watched as he made his way across the street, back to his. It was only then when you noticed his employees peering out the window and into your store, where you absolutely knew all your guys were glaring from.
You didn’t even have the energy to tell them to knock it off. The vase felt heavy in your hands as you placed it on a side table. You remembered the gardenia Seokmin had given you in the morning and you grabbed it from your station, placing it among the yellow lily bouquet.
Jaehyun nudged you and asked, “Are you going to Jungkook’s on tonight?”
“I honestly totally forgot about that,” you said. Jungkook was a friend of yours and Jaehyun’s from college. He took over his father’s company right after you all graduated so you rarely saw him since he was always so busy. Recently, though, he successfully completed a merger with a different company, and he finally was able to justify a break for himself, which included throwing a party in his uptown penthouse.
You weren’t really sure you were in much of a partying mood right now, though.
Jaehyun said, “I think you should go, we haven’t seen him in a while.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
“I can pick you up at around ten,” Jaehyun said, “and we can go over together.”
“Perfect.”
Tumblr media
It turned out that every one of your college friends going to Jungkook’s party remembered it but you. You got a FaceTime call from Jihyo, who asked what you were wearing and then gasped when you said a t-shirt and jeans. “You cannot do that.”
“Why not? What’s wrong with it?” you asked her, taking a few steps away to show her the full outfit as if it would change her mind.
“How often do you get to be all dressed up?”
“Jihyo…”
“Y/n…”
You crumbled under her stern gaze and sighed, “Fine, fine. I’ll look in my closet.” You opened it up, rifling through it until you came upon a periwinkle blue halter top and the matching skirt. You couldn’t remember the last time you wore it, maybe to some club in your senior year?
You showed the set to Jihyo, who squealed and nodded emphatically. “I remember that one! You always looked so sexy in it! Plus, it’ll show off your tattoos and I know lots of guys who’ll love that.”
“I’m not trying to get laid at Jungkook’s.”
“You may not be trying but that doesn’t mean you can’t.”
“I’m hanging up now.”
“Wait, wait! Are you coming alone or are you going in with someone?”
“Jaehyun’s coming with me.”
Jihyo wiggled her eyebrows suggestively and you said, “You and I both know it’s not like that.”
“I’m not sure why it isn’t, though, that man is fine.”
You made a face. “I’ve seen Jaehyun take soy sauce shots and drink milk straight from the carton then put it back.”
Jihyo waved you off. “Semantics.”
“I’m hanging up.”
You met Jaehyun in your lobby about fifteen minutes later and he gave you a once over and a whistle. You punched him in the shoulder and he just chuckled, “I haven’t seen you like this since college.”
“Yeah, I know.”
He glanced at you again and said, “Jungkook should throw parties more often.”
“Jeong Jaehyun, do you want to die?”
He just smirked back at you and the two of you got in a cab to Jungkook’s high-rise. You rang the buzzer for Jungkook’s apartment and you weren’t sure who replied and buzzed you up but you had a feeling it was a very, very drunk BamBam.
“Yo!” Jungkook answered the door, dressed in a tight dress shirt and slacks. “You two look great! Thanks for coming!” He dapped Jaehyun up and gave you a tight hug. Then, he gently poked the tattoo on your shoulder — a small abstract representation of the moon and the ocean that Taeyong did for a you a couple of months back. “This one new?”
“Not really,” you said. “Got it about six months ago.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened. “Shit, has it really been that long since we’ve seen each other.”
“Time flies,” you said. Jungkook nodded and stepped aside, letting you and Jaehyun cross into his apartment. He was lucky that owned the entire floor because if you were his neighbor and the music was this loud, you’d be issuing a noise complaint right now.
Jungkook showed the two of you to the bar, manned by two shirtless bartenders. Jungkook introduced them as Jimin and Jin, who both agreed to work the party as a favor to Jungkook. Jaehyun ordered a screwdriver while you said you’d take some of Jin’s specialty sangria.
“My favorite friends!” You and Jaehyun watched Dongmin stumble toward you, draping his arms around your shoulders in a hug. You and Jaehyun smiled as you steadied Dongmin; he had never been particularly great at holding his liquor, which meant that Dongmin didn’t often get drunk. It would be endearing to see your normally cool and collected friend red-faced and staggering if you weren’t worried that he was just going to tip over at any moment.
You patted Dongmin on the back and asked, “Are you going to be okay standing up on your own?”
“Totally fine,” he said, giving you a drunken grin. He reached up to squish Jaehyun’s cheeks. “I missed this face.”
Jaehyun gave you a look that screamed “Help me!” but you just smirked at him and said, “You’re doing great, Jae.”
You ignored his protests as you slipped away to find some more of your friends. You located Jihyo and Mina, who were doing rum shots with Taeyang and Hyunjae. “You look even sexier in real life,” Jihyo said. She pointed at you and asked the other three, “Doesn’t Y/n look hot?”
“Definitely,” Hyunjae said. Mina and Taeyang nodded in agreement. Distantly, you heard the buzzer go off again and, again, BamBam took up the task of answering it with a garbled yell. You glanced around the penthouse; you thought everyone was here.
“Who else could be coming?” you asked Jihyo.
“I think Jungkook invited some friends from high school.”
You hummed and took the shot Mina poured for you, setting your cup of sangria down and tilting your head back, gulping the shot down just as Jungkook opened his front door. You choked on your drink as you saw Seokmin walk in with two other Fallin’ Flower workers — Mingyu and Minghao — and Yuna.
Oh, you have got to be kidding. Not only were the two people you really didn’t want to think about here together, but you weren’t in the mood for Jaehyun to get into some altercation with Minghao and Mingyu.
“Give me another shot,” you demanded, turning back to your friends. Taeyang and Hyunjae shared a glance but Hyunjae still poured you some more Bacardi. You relished in the burn of the coconut rum, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand. “Excuse me.” You left without another explanation, searching for Jaehyun. You needed to get to him before he saw Seokmin, Mingyu, and Minghao on his own, and you also just wanted to avoid seeing Seokmin and Yuna together.
“Thanks for your help,” Jaehyun deadpanned when you found him near one of the floor to ceiling windows, free of Dongmin.
“Sorry,” you muttered, swiping Jaehyun’s drink from him and taking a sip.
He snatched it back from you and said, “You seem kind of tense right now.”
“Okay, I’m going to tell you something and I need you to not freak the fuck out.”
“Okay…”
“Minghao, Seokmin, and Mingyu are here.”
Jaehyun immediately straightened up and his jaw clenched. His eyes scanned the crowd and it was clear when he found them. You grabbed his shoulder to bring his attention back to you. “This is the first time Jungkook’s been able to relax in a while. Please don’t start some inane argument tonight.”
Jaehyun exhaled through his nose and said, “I won’t.”
You nodded but there was still an uneasy feeling in your stomach. You couldn’t tell if it was from the possibility of some blowup between the guys or if it was because of Seokmin and Yuna, who you spotted in a corner together, their heads bent close to one another.
You took in Seokmin’s profile, all the sharp points of his face that were contrary to his gentle personality. He was handsome, undoubtedly so, and it made your heart hurt just a little.
Whatever he and Yuna were talking about, it was intense and passionate and you wondered if it would end in some equally intense kiss. You didn’t want to watch and find out.
“I’m getting another drink,” you announced to Jaehyun. You made your way to the bar station again when you bumped into someone, who just barely avoided spilling their drink on you. “Fuck, I’m so sorry.”
“You’re all good,” the man said. He smiled at you, the corner of his mouth dimpling. “I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Chan.”
“Y/n.” You shook his hand and asked, “How do you know Jungkook?”
“We studied abroad together,” he explained. “What about you?”
“College too,” you replied. “I’m sorry, I feel like he definitely mentioned you before but I can’t remember.”
Chan shook his head good-naturedly. “It’s okay. He’s clearly got a lot of friends to remember.” He motioned with his drink to the apartment and you laughed a little.
“Clearly.” You pointed at his drink. “What do you have?”
He peered inside and swirled his cup a little, both of you watching as the liquid sloshed around inside. “I think it’s a Long Island iced tea but Jungkook just shoved it in my hand when I arrived. I really haven’t drank any.”
“Can I try?”
“Sure.” He handed you the cup and you took a long pull from it, feeling the delicious rush of alcohol to your head.
You pushed it back into Chan’s hand. “It’s good, try some.”
He took a drink and said, “Wow, that is good.” He handed the cup back to you and you took turns drinking from it, the booze making your head feel light and airy.
The music picked up into a slow, seductive song and you grabbed Chan’s arm, setting the drink down on some random surface. “Do you want to dance?”
“Yeah, let’s do it!” You giggled at his enthusiasm and dragged him closer to the middle of the room, where people had started pairing off to grind against one another. You drew Chan closer to you, guiding his hands to your hips. He pressed your back to his chest, resting his chin on your shoulder as you swayed to the beat together. Some hazy voice at the back of your mind told you to look around to see if Seokmin was dancing with Yuna but it quickly disappeared when Chan nuzzled your neck, his hot breath against your skin making you shiver. Your hands slid to rest atop his on your hips and you pressed yourself closer to him.
You whined when you felt his lips finally make contact with the nape of your neck, sending electricity pulsing through you. You flipped in his arms, draping your arms around his shoulders as he wrapped around your waist. You tipped your head up and kissed him, running your hands through his hair as you still moved to the rhythm of the music.
“This is a little forward,” Chan murmured in your ear, low and slow, “and I don’t usually do this and I’m a little buzzed but do you want to get out of here?”
“Yes, please,” you answered breathlessly and you peeled yourself away from him, grabbing his hand and leading him to the door. You shot Jaehyun and Jihyo separate texts to let them know you were leaving with Chan. Jihyo was the first to reply, requesting that you share your location with her. Your fingers fumbled but you eventually sent your location to her. You didn’t read Jaehyun’s reply, too occupied with peppering kisses along Chan’s neck as he ordered an Uber for the two of you.
You stumbled up the stairs of his walk-up, eventually coming to his front door. He unlocked it as quickly as he could and as soon as it closed behind the two of you, he pressed you against it and kissed you again.
As you two made your way languidly down the hall to his bedroom, Seokmin’s face flashed bright in your mind and you started wondering what it would be like kissing him, grating your hips against his, pressing pecks along his elegant neck.
You fell back against Chan’s bed and he hovered of you, hands hot on the bare skin of your waist. You slipped your hands underneath his shirt, feeling the rows of lean muscle. He kissed along your shoulder, pressing a particularly reverent kiss to your tattoo, before continuing a path along your collarbone. He began trailing closer to the chest when you pushed your hand against his shoulder, gently urging him away from you. Chan immediately backed away and asked, “Everything okay?”
“Yeah, yeah,” you said. You took a deep breath. Seokmin’s smiling face appeared in your mind again and there was a knot in your stomach. You said softly, “I’m sorry, I don’t think I can sleep with you.”
Chan said, “No need to apologize for anything.”
You smiled weakly at him. “You’re much nicer than most of the guys I’ve turned down for sex.”
“Well, being nice about that is, like, the bare minimum of being a decent person.” Chan glanced at the clock at his bedside and said, “I’m not totally comfortable letting you go off into the night on your own so you can sleep here and I can sleep on the couch.”
“I’m not kicking you out of your bed, Chan,” you said.
“I’m seriously okay with sleeping on the couch.”
“Chan, it’s your bed. If anything, I can sleep on the couch.”
“No.”
You said, “We can share your bed.”
Chan raised an eyebrow. “Are you comfortable with that?”
“You just had your tongue in my mouth and we almost had sex,” you said. “I think I can handle sharing a bed.”
Chan barked out a laugh and said, “Got it. Let me get something more comfortable for you.”
Chan climbed out of his bed, staggering a little drunkenly. He righted himself quickly and reached into his drawers, pulling out a t-shirt and basketball shorts for you. He turned around when you changed and clambered into bed next to you when you laid down.
“Can I ask you a question?” he asked.
You hummed in assent and he said, “Do you have any more tattoos? Other than the moon and ocean on your shoulder?”
You nodded, sitting up and reaching over to turn his dim bedside lamp on. “Yeah.” You showed Chan your underarm, where your birthday was written out in Roman numerals. You also lifted your (his) t-shirt and pulled the band of the shorts down slightly to show him your hip, where you had a sprig of lavender.
Chan said, “I’ve always thought about getting one but I keep chickening out.”
“You could drop by my shop some time and we could have a consultation.”
Chan’s eyes widened. “You’re a tattoo artist?”
“Yeah, I even did some of Jungkook’s.”
“That’s wickedly cool.”
You grinned at him. “Thanks.” Your eyelids drooped, either from the alcohol or your own tiredness but it was enough for Chan to reach over you and turn the light off.
“We can talk in the morning if you’re still here,” Chan said. “Let’s go to sleep now, though.”
“Okay. Good night, Chan.”
“Night, Y/n.”
Tumblr media
Your head was throbbing and your mouth was as dry as the desert when you woke up. You heard Chan groan behind you and you guessed he was feeling just as shitty as you were. “I’m never drinking again,” Chan grumbled.
“Never say never,” you replied. “But I’m inclined to agree.”
Chan huffed a laugh and said, “Do you have to get to work this morning?”
“No, the shop’s closed on Sundays.”
He said, “Do you want to go to this new cafe? My friends told me they have good hangover baked goods.”
“Sounds perfect.”
You both struggled to get out of bed and Chan let you use his shower first. He also let you keep his t-shirt and shorts, which you wore over your party set, since wearing it by itself at eleven in the morning was not the vibe. You, unfortunately, did have to wear the party heels you stuffed your feet into because there was simply no way you’d fit into Chan’s shoes.
You insisted on paying for the cab to wherever Chan was taking you, finally getting Chan to agree to let you do so as long as he paid for the food and drinks. When you stepped out of the car, you felt fucking stupid that you didn’t realize where he was taking you.
Fallin’ Flower.
You pursed your lips as he held the door open for you. You didn’t go over to Seokmin’s flower shop as much as he came over to Neo Tattoos and Piercings so you weren’t sure what his staff’s reaction would be to you, their persona non grata, strolling in.
Immediately, your mood soured when you spotted Yuna. Logically, you knew you shouldn’t feel this negatively towards her. If she and Seokmin had a thing, if they were boyfriend and girlfriend, that was none of your business, but you couldn’t help the way your heart sank at the thought.
You wondered if you were doing a bad job of hiding that you didn’t like her because, when you walked in, she looked almost appalled and angry. Mingyu was at the counter and you mentally cursed as Chan and you walked up to it. Mingyu looked up with a broad smile but it swiftly slipped off when he spotted you and Chan. “What are you doing here?” he asked brusquely.
Chan frowned, taken aback. “Excuse me?”
Mingyu’s eyes narrowed at you and he spoke past Chan to you, “You have some fucking nerve.”
You almost rolled your eyes. This fucking feud really was the most obnoxious thing you’ve ever experienced. But you had to set an example for the rest of your staff and friends at the shop and, honestly, your hangover didn’t put you in any mood for this bullshit so you tried your best to ignore Mingyu’s attitude. Chan, however, did not. “Don’t talk to her that way.”
Mingyu’s head snapped towards him. “Are you her boyfriend or something?”
“Mingyu! Do you have—” One of the other workers, Jihoon, came out of the florist part of Fallin’ Flower, freezing when he saw you. His expression immediately became colder and he said, “You’re here.”
Chan scowled. “Is this really how you treat customers? Because if it is—”
“Chan,” you said, placing a hand on his shoulder. “I’ll explain later but don’t get worked up over this. I’m fine.”
He looked at you incredulously. “Are you serious?”
“Just stay out of this,” you muttered to him. You turned back to Mingyu and squared your shoulders. Despite Mingyu’s larger frame, you’ve seen how he acted like a golden retriever with Seokmin, so whatever intimidation he was trying to carry out failed miserably. “I’ll take a—”
“You’re still going to order here?”
“I have a right to be here as a paying customer,” you replied tersely. “If you walked into the shop and asked for a piercing or tattoo, we wouldn’t turn you away.”
Mingyu sneered at you and from next to him, Jihoon opened his mouth to say something but they were cut off by two sharp calls of their names. Seokmin rushed out of the flower shop and into the cafe, and you were a little startled by how he looked. His eyes were a little bloodshot and puffy and his shoulders were slumped. Still, he said sternly, “This is not how we treat people here.”
“But—” Mingyu began to protest but Seokmin gave him a warning glare. Seokmin mad was much scarier than you ever envisioned. You couldn’t even fathom what he would look like mad before now.
“Go to the back and cool off. Both of you.” Jihoon and Mingyu left and Seokmin took over the register. “I’m sorry about that, Y/n. What can I get you today?” He gave you a polite smile but it didn’t reach his eyes.
You frowned but gave him your order with Chan giving his own after. Seokmin rang you up and, though you tried to pull out your card first, Chan beat you by tapping his own on the chip reader. “Nice try,” he said, nudging your shoulder. Out of the corner of your eye, it almost looked like Seokmin was queasy. Maybe he was just as hungover as you were.
You shuffled to the pick up area and watched as Joshua and Minghao made your drinks and handed you your food. Minghao’s glare sent an unpleasant shiver down your spine but he didn’t say anything to you.
You didn’t want to stay in Fallin’ Flower any longer than you needed to, so once you got your orders, you suggested that you sit in the small park a few blocks over. As you left, you swore you heard Yuna mutter, “Heartless,” as you passed her but you couldn’t be sure.
You were almost down the street when one of the flower shop workers, Hansol, came running after you. He held out a small bundle of flowers and said breathlessly, “On the house.” He sprinted back into the shop and slammed the door.
You and Chan exchanged equally perplexed looks as you stared at the flowers. You two still continued on your way to the park. You were lucky it was a cloudy day because the sun would have been way too bright for the state you were in. The fresh air helped soothe your raging headache a little and as you settled onto a bench, Chan said, “You said you’d explain what the hell was up with the way they treated you back there.”
You sighed heavily and told Chan all about the rivalry between your stores across the street from one another. He made a face. “That just seems stupid.”
“It is. Seokmin — he was the one who took our orders — and I have tried to get them to cool off but it seems like they just keep inciting one another.”
Chan frowned and said, “They seemed pretty sharp with you even though you’re not the one carrying out this feud business.”
“They’re just hostile to anyone at Neo.”
“I have half a mind to write a bad review about customer service.”
“If you did that, you’d have to write one about my shop too since that’s how my guys act when Fallin’ Flower guys come around.”
Chan gave you a small smile as he sipped his coffee. “Then I won’t.” He looked at the flowers next to you on the bench and said, “Is this part of the feud too?”
“I’m not sure; this is new.”
Chan eyed the flowers and said, “I think those are yellow carnations.”
“You’re a flower expert?”
He blushed a little. “No but my mother’s an avid gardener.”
“Why would they give these to me for free when they obviously don’t like me?” you wondered aloud.
“Maybe they mean something,” Chan suggested. “Flowers all symbolize something.”
You nodded slowly and said, “Maybe. I’ll look this up later, I don’t think I can stomach looking at a screen right now.”
“Same here.”
You and Chan finished your coffee and food and parted ways after exchanging numbers, promising to hang out another time without a) tipsily making out or b) being hungover.

“I still feel like walking death,” you said to Jaehyun as you started to prepare for the work day. Monday came around much sooner than you wanted, especially given that you were still recovering from Jungkook’s party. “How are you so chirpy?”
Jaehyun shrugged with a smirk. “Better alcohol tolerance?”
“Screw you and your genetics.” You massaged your temples and asked Jungwoo, “What’s on schedule for today?”
You zoned out while Jungwoo read what appointments were made for the day. Blessedly, you only had one appointment on tap and it was much later in the evening, which meant you had a fairly relaxing day even if there were walk-ins.
As everyone dispersed to their stations, you remembered something. The yellow carnations. You were about to whip out your phone when you recalled that Johnny was pretty well-versed in flower symbolism given that he specialized in realistic tattoos, specifically flowers and plants. He was the one who tattooed the lavender sprig on your hip, after all.
“Johnny?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you know what yellow carnations symbolize?”
He thought for a second and said, “I can’t remember; I know there was a client who almost got them tattooed but their friend stopped them before she could for some reason. Why?”
You contemplated telling him about the flowers from Hansol but decided against it. It seemed like the flowers couldn’t have any positive connotation to them, which you had already figured, and you didn’t want to fan the flame anymore so you responded, “I’m coming for your brand, Suh.”
He glared playfully at you. “I’ll kill you before you can even try.”
You chuckled and shoved him lightly, earning a laugh from him as well before you both went back to getting ready. You pulled out your phone this time and plugged the flowers into the search bar.
Your stomach dropped when you read the first result.
Yellow carnations: rejection, disdain, and disappointment with someone.
Well, that was certainly a very clear message. And you weren’t super surprised. That doesn’t mean that it didn’t stump you. You understood the disdain part — it was very clear how much Fallin’ Flower employees didn’t like you or the rest of the Neo Tattoos and Piercings crew, but what was up with rejection and disappointment in someone. As far as you knew, you didn’t reject anyone they would care about recently.
What a bunch of weird guys. Still, the flowers were pretty so you put them in a vase with some water and set them up in the window.
Tumblr media
Not that you were keeping track or anything, but you’ve spotted Yuna going into Fallin’ Flower a lot more in the past few days. You tried to push down the ache in your chest when you’d see her enter the shop.
You were fortunate that things had been hectic recently. It seemed like there were a lot of birthdays going on, thus a lot of people coming in for celebratory tattoos and piercings. You didn’t have a lot of time to think about Seokmin and the way he looked when you last saw him nor about the rest of the Fallin’ Flower workers and Yuna in those moments, but it was safe to say that in your free time, you were pretty in your head about all that stuff.
You knew the guys saw your change in demeanor and you appreciated the way they tried to cheer you up. Yuta and Mark began calling each other increasingly ridiculous pet names; your favorite one was Yuta’s ‘my sugar plum spice cake.’ Johnny and Taeyong dragged you into random dance parties in your down time. Doyoung and Jaehyun bought you your favorite treats. Jungwoo and Taeil belted the lyrics to your favorite songs. It made you smile and it warmed your heart just how much your friends wanted to make you happy, but you knew your sadness wouldn’t just go away.
Chan dropped by your store one day with a bouquet of chrysanthemums, telling you that he had looked up what the yellow carnation meant and that he hoped these would be a kinder replacement for them since they represented joy and optimism. You ignored the curious looks from Taeil, Doyoung, and Jungwoo as you placed the chrysanthemums in a vase on their desk.
For some reason, you didn’t want to take the carnation down. It almost felt like giving into the defeat by getting rid of them. You wanted the guys at Fallin’ Flower to look at the bouquet and know that they didn’t scare you one bit.
Tumblr media
It was the end of the day and you just finished tattooing your last client, Chaeyoung, resting up in the break room with Yuta and Jaehyun, when the bell in your shop sounded very loudly, which meant the door was opened with a lot of force. You heard shouting from Taeil, Jungwoo, and Doyoung, catching only a bit of what they were saying. “You’re not allowed back there!” cried Jungwoo.
“Hey!” Doyoung huffed.
Seokmin burst into the room, looking a little panicked. Yuta and Jaehyun immediately stood up and you followed them quickly, placing your hands on both of their chests before they could do anything further. You leveled Seokmin with a firm look and said, “Only employees are allowed back here, Seokmin.”
“I know, I know, I just need to ask you about something.”
“Okay, let’s do it outside then.”
You brushed past Jaehyun and Yuta and followed Seokmin outside, pulling him around the corner so that you were away from prying eyes. “What is it?” you asked.
“The yellow carnations in your window display. Who gave them to you?”
“Hansol from your shop.”
Seokmin’s frown deepened and he sighed, “I was afraid of that.”
“I know what they mean, Seokmin.”
“You do?”
You nodded, staring down at your shoes. He said, “I swear I didn’t ask them to do that.”
“I know,” you mumbled quietly. “I know you wouldn’t do that.”
A tense silence fell over the two of you. You weren’t sure what else to say to him and then Seokmin, almost inaudibly, said, “Those chrysanthemums are nice.”
“Pardon me?”
A little louder. “The chrysanthemums are nice.”
“Thanks.”
Seokmin crossed his arms and leaned against the outer wall of your shop. “Did your boyfriend give them to you?”
“My what?”
“Your boyfriend,” Seokmin said. “The one you left Jungkook’s party with.”
You stilled. You didn’t even think that Seokmin saw you at Jungkook’s, much less that he saw you leave with Chan. You said slowly, “He’s not my boyfriend.”
“You seemed awfully cozy with him.” Your eyebrows raised at Seokmin’s flippant tone and even he seemed shocked by what came out of his mouth.
Something white hot burned in your chest. Who was he to judge you about anything? “What’s it to you?”
“I didn’t mean to—”
“Save it.” You scowled. “And tell your boys at the shop that they need to do a lot more to scare me off.”
You turned on your heel but Seokmin grabbed your elbow, spinning you around to face him again. “Wait!” he said. “I came here to apologize on behalf of Fallin’ Flower about the yellow carnations.”
“Okay. Is that all?”
“I—”
“Hey!” Johnny rounded the corner. “What the hell are you doing?” Before you could react, Johnny’s pulling Seokmin away from you and shoving him back.
Seokmin stumbled back a little and put his hands up in surrender. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t—”
Johnny pulled himself up to his full height as you saw Mingyu storming across the street.
Oh, great, just what you needed today.
Yuta, Jaehyun, and Donghyuck came around the corner, which seemed to prompt Jeonghan, Soonyoung, and Chan (also known as Dino and not be confused with the Chan you met at Jungkook’s party) to cross the street and join whatever argument Johnny and Mingyu were in.
There were so many voices and so much noise and so much chaos and all you wanted was some fucking peace and quiet to gather your thoughts and calm yourself down. You wanted to run but you knew you were responsible for your staff. Plus, the last thing any of you needed was police being called in for disturbance.
As the voices got louder and louder, you took a deep breath and yelled, “Everyone, shut up!”
All involved parties seemed shocked by your shout. They all turned to you and you dragged a hand over your face, feeling the pent up anger and frustration, not just for the past few days, but from when this ridiculous feud began, start to bubble to the surface. “For once,” you said quietly and steadily, “for once, I just want a day where nobody antagonizes someone else across the street. Clearly, that’s too much to ask from any of you grown men to do. I can’t believe that this fight has been going on for this fucking long over some minor fucking thing that just snowballed into this mess. I’m so sick of listening to everyone bitch and moan about the shop across the street and of being antagonized just for going over to the other side. I’m sure Seokmin is sick of it too.”
You turned towards your employees and said, “We’re closing early today. I’m going to take a long walk and I want you all to stay in the break room and reflect long and hard today. Do I make myself clear?”
Donghyuck weakly protested, “But what about the Fallin’—”
“Seokmin can do whatever he wants with them, I don’t really care.” You tried your best to not think about the way Seokmin flinched at your words. “But as long as you work at Neo Tattoos and Piercings, you’ll do as I say. I’ll ask again: do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
You didn’t look at any of them as you brushed past and started off down the street on your long, long walk.
Tumblr media
You walked down to the pier on the other side of the city. You used to come here a lot when you first started Neo Tattoos and Piercings, but you haven’t had a chance to do it in a while. You leaned against one of the guardrails, staring out at the bay. The breeze felt nice on your skin and you breathed in the salty air of the brackish water.
You felt someone stop a few feet away from you and you didn’t even need to look to know it was Seokmin. You side-eyed him and he said, “I swear I didn’t follow you.”
“I know.”
Silence.
“I’m having my staff members reflect on their actions as well.”
“I’m glad for you.”
Silence.
“I wasn’t judging you about leaving with someone from Jungkook’s party.”
You rubbed a hand across your face. “I— I know you weren’t. I’m sorry, I think I was just— these past few days have been emotionally draining for me so I guess I lashed out and I apologize for that.”
Seokmin shuffled a little closer to you. You didn’t move away. He said, “I’m sorry as well. About the yellow carnations Hansol gave you. I gave him an earful about it; he’s a good kid, but he was egged on by some of the older guys.”
You snorted. “He looked scared shitless when he handed them to me.”
Seokmin laughed a little. “I can only imagine.”
Silence.
Seokmin asked, “Do you know what the other flowers meant?”
“What other flowers?”
“The other ones I’ve given you?”
You wracked your brain. “The, uh…”
“The gardenia and the yellow lilies.”
“Right. No, I don’t know what they mean.”
Seokmin replied, “Yellow lilies symbolize thankfulness.” Thank you flowers for tattooing Yuna.
“Right.”
Silence.
“What does the gardenia mean, then?”
Seokmin was looking anywhere but you. He muttered something but you couldn’t hear it over the churning of the bay water. “Sorry, what did you say?”
Seokmin glanced at you. “Secret love,” he said finally. “It means secret love.”
Secret love.
Your heart stopped.
There was no way Seokmin was confessing feelings for you. You whirled on him, furious. “Are you fucking for real right now?”
Seokmin’s eyes grew giant. “What?”
“You’re seriously confessing a secret love for me while you have a girlfriend?”
“Girlfriend? I don’t have a girlfriend!”
“Yuna!” you practically shouted. “You’re dating Yuna!”
Seokmin blinked at you three times before saying, “I’m not dating Yuna.”
It was your turn to blink at him. “What?”
Seokmin said, “Yuna’s a good friend of mine but she would never date me.”
“How’s that possible? You’re handsome and kind and generous and—” You stopped yourself, feeling your cheeks heat up.
Seokmin grinned at you, relaxing as he shuffled close enough that your shoulders brushed against one another. “She has a girlfriend, Y/n. She’d sooner date you than me.”
You didn’t expect that. “Oh.” You fiddled with the rings around your fingers. “Then why was she giving me such nasty looks the last time I was in Fallin’ Flower?”
“That… that’s my fault.”
Your eyes narrowed and you shifted away from him. Seokmin quickly added, “I didn’t ask her to do it! I… I just…” He sighed, “When we were at Jungkook’s party, I was supposed to confess to you there and ask you on a date and while I was talking through the plan with Yuna, we saw you and that guy... you know…”
You were pretty sure you were very up-close-and-personal with Chan by then. “Yeah…”
Seokmin flushed a little as he continued, “I… I was so hurt by that that I just started crying and Yuna, Mingyu, Minghao, and I actually left pretty soon after that because I was so upset.”
Your heart cracked. “I’m sorry, Seokmin.”
His face was pink as he waved you off. “You didn’t know. I was just being a baby about it.”
“No, I get it. I was… the past few days have been so hard because I thought you and Yuna were dating.”
Seokmin’s head whipped toward you so fast you were scared he got whiplash. “Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Does that mean that you like me too.”
You felt a shy smile creep across your face. “Yes, Seokmin, that means I like you too.” You chanced a look at him.
His grin was as bright as the sun and before you knew it, he was wrapping you in his arms and picking you up, spinning. You yelped and gripped his shoulders tight, whining, “Seokmin, put me down! I’m getting dizzy!”
“Sorry, sorry!” He set you down but didn’t let go of you, arms wound around your waist. “I’m just so happy.”
“Me too.” You paused. “So all those times you brought me flowers for the shop, they had some hidden love confession?”
“Well, not all of them.”
“The red tulips?”
“Yeah, those meant ‘true love.’”
“What about the peonies?”
“‘You’re the most beautiful.’”
“The sunflowers?”
“Adoration and pure love.”
“The—”
Seokmin cut you off, “Can I kiss you?”
“Hell yeah.”
Seokmin pulled you closer and pecked you chastely on the lips. You scoffed playfully at him, “You call that a kiss?”
“Guess I need you to show me how it’s done—”
You dragged him into a passionate kiss and Seokmin’s hands grabbed tightly at your hips. You slid your tongue into his mouth and you swore you heard him whimper when you tugged on his hair. You filed that away for later usage.
You parted with him, delighting in his half-lidded, glazed eyes and his still slightly-parted mouth. “Oh, we’re going to have so much fun together,” you purred, planting a quick kiss to the corner of his mouth.
“Yeah,” he said absent-mindedly. He brought your knuckles to his lips, pressing reverent kisses on each one.
“Can’t wait to break the news to everyone.”
Seokmin groaned, “Don’t remind me. I don’t want to think about them right now.” He buried his face in your neck.
“Don’t worry. Right now, it’s just us.”
Tumblr media
You and Seokmin thought it would be better to actually deal with the rivalry between your shops before revealing that you were dating to them. You stopped about a block away from your respective stores — you pulled him in some alley for another quick make-out session — and you went ahead of him to Neo Tattoos and Piercings.
When you opened the break room door, Donghyuck instantly threw himself at you, wrapping his arms around your legs. “We’re sorry!” he wailed.
“Donghyuck, get off her,” Doyoung scolded.
“We really are sorry though, Y/n,” Mark said, trying to pry Donghyuck off of you.
“We thought we were protecting you and each other,” Johnny said with a sigh. “But we know that it wasn’t the right way to go about it.” He helped Mark peel Donghyuck from you.
“Please accept our humble apology cake,” Taeyong said, motioning to the break room table, where a cute, circular, pastel blue and white cake sat with green lettering: We’re sorry for being immature assholes.
You approached the cake, glancing down at it. “How did you guys even get this done on such short notice?”
“We called Sicheng and his friend, Kun, is a baker and he had this cake available and we just asked him to write that,” explained Yuta.
“Do you like it?” Jungwoo asked.
“What flavor is it?”
“Chocolate with vanilla frosting layers,” Taeil said.
You turned to your staff and said, “You know I hate chocolate with vanilla layers, right?”
Donghyuck cried out, “We’re sorry, Y/n!”
Doyoung grumbled, “I knew we should have gotten a different flavor. Taeyong, this is all your fault.”
“My fault? Jaehyun ordered the cake!”
“Wow, way to just throw me under the bus there.”
“Guys, guys!” You said before they could erupt into further hysteria. “I’m kidding, I actually love chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.”
“You’re evil, you know that?” Johnny said.
“Call it payback,” you said with a small shrug. “Now, let’s dig in.”
As you ate the cake on paper plates and with plastic forks and knives, you said to them, “You know you still have to apologize to the Fallin’ Flower staff, right?”
You felt the wave of dissatisfaction but Taeyong replied before anyone could say anything stupid. “We understand and we will. We also hope that they’ll apologize to us.”
You nodded. “I’m sure Seokmin is seeing to that.”
“Speaking of him,” Yuta said, swallowing his piece of cake, “are you going to tell him how you feel?”
You choked on your cake. “You knew?”
Taeil hummed, “It was kind of obvious,” just as Mark yelped, “What?”
“Did you seriously not know?” Jaehyun asked.
“No!”
“Mark, I swear you’re so dense,” Johnny said.
“I am not!”

Your staffs did, begrudgingly, go over to each respective shop and apologize to the other staff. Both you and Seokmin knew the ice wouldn’t thaw overnight so, as a way of trying to quicken the process, you both begged Jungkook to let you use his penthouse to throw a party for your staff under the guise of it being the anniversary of both of your shops. Jungkook, being the good friend that he was, let you on the condition that nothing gets broken.
The party started out a little tense at first, given the long history between your shops and that neither you nor Seokmin told your staffs that the other would be there.
The ice thawed a lot quicker than you expected though. Joshua and Johnny bonded over growing up in America; Hansol, Wonwoo, and Mark traded rap lyrics and favorite musicians; Donghyuck took shots with Soonyoung, Doyoung, Dino, and Taeil; it turned out that Jaehyun and Seungcheol went to the same gym; Jihoon and Taeyong both had a passion for music production; Jeonghan and Yuta had a kindred fondness for pulling pranks on their friends; Jungwoo and Seungkwan became fast friends; and it turned out that you all shared a mutual friend with Jun and Minghao in Sicheng.
As you all sat around at Jungkook’s enormous table, exchanging stories and eating the food you ordered in, Seokmin held your hand under the table. You still hadn’t told your staffs that you were dating yet, even after your conversation with the guys. You wanted to wait until the dust finally settled, which it seemed it had, but before you could say anything, Soonyoung poked Seokmin’s neck. “Dude, is that a hickey?”
Seokmin dropped his fork and his hand flew up to his neck to cover the spot Soonyoung touched. He let go of your hand and grabbed his phone, flipping the camera and tilting his head. Sure enough, there was a small bruise just under his jaw.
Whoops.
Yuta pointed accusingly at you. “That was you, wasn’t it, Y/n?”
“Yeah, that was me.” You leaned your head on Seokmin’s shoulder. “Can you blame me though? I’m just so happy to have my boyfriend with me.”
And like that, the room descended into chaos with people cheering and shouting and whining, “Why didn’t you tell us!”
Seokmin put his phone down and rested his head on top of yours, muttering just loud enough for you to hear, “Who would have thought that we’d ever get here?”
“If you told me we’d all be eating together and that we’d be dating, I would have told you to pinch me.”
“By the way,” Seokmin said, his voice cutting through the din and quelling it, “I have something for you.” He reached into the inside pocket of his jacket and pulled out one long-stemmed red rose. “For you.” He handed it to you.
Well, you didn’t need the internet to know what a rose meant.

Tumblr media
Your love story with Toji Fushiguro started simply. Nothing fancy or out of a romantic comedy.
Your eyes meeting his in a coffee shop you used to frequent, he was new there you knew, no doubt you would have noticed him before. Tall, handsome, a scar across his mouth that only made him look more attractive, and he certainly looked older.
He was working on his laptop at a corner table in the back while you took a seat to do the same but at the other end of the cafeteria, right in front of the window. You swore you could feel his gaze on you a couple of times.
Three days later you saw him again, same place, almost the same time. Your eyes met his again as always, but this time he smiled at you, you did the same and then tried to ignore him, which you knew would be an almost impossible mission since your eyes seemed to betray you, wanting to admire the beauty of that man.
Two more encounters passed before the action that “broke the ice” happened; when you called the waitress to pay for your order, but she told you with a smile that your bill had already been paid. You looked at her in disbelief, thinking it was a mistake. When she pointed out that the handsome man in the back had paid it, you tried your best not to blush. You’re almost sure that the waitress wanted to punch you since you asked her if she was serious about three more times to corroborate if it wasn’t a joke or even a dream.
It was real, but there was no way you were going to let him pay the bill just like that. So after thinking long and hard, and putting aside your nerves, you got up from your seat to head over to him.
“Excuse me? Sir?” You said in a timid voice when you were in front of him. The man stopped typing on his laptop to look at the source of the voice, smirking sideways when he noticed it was you.
“Yes?” God, his voice was attractive too.
“I’m sorry to bother you, but—” You cleared your throat before continuing, “The waitress told me that you paid for my bill, and although I’m grateful, I can’t accept it.”
He sighed as he leaned back in the seat, crossing his arms, the smile never leaving his face. “Why not?”
“I can’t let a stranger pay for my food.” You muttered, but before he opened his mouth to say anything, you decided to continue, “Why did you do it?”
“Just because I wanted to.” He shrugged, downplaying the situation. “I don’t need another reason.” What a lie.
“I’ll pay you back.” You said as you tried to grab your wallet, but his mocking laughter made you stop. “Why are you laughing?”
“You’re adorable.” He said it so casually, almost making you blush, yes, almost. “I won’t take the money. Don’t even try.”
“I insist.”
He rolled his eyes as he took a sip of his coffee, you tried to stand your ground, avoiding looking at the way his arm muscles showed through the long-sleeved shirt he wore. Once he returned the cup to the table, he looked up at you again, but now more seriously.
“You want to pay me that badly?” You nodded. “Then why don’t you sit with me?”
You opened your eyes in shock and gulped before you spoke, “What?”
“Sit with me.” He gestured to the seat in front of him before resting his chin on his hand, waiting for your decision.
You took one last look around the cafeteria while thinking a thousand things per second. It would be okay if you accepted his proposal, right? You were in a public place, surrounded by people, he was nice, he paid for your food. Besides, he was the man who had taken over some of your thoughts with his perfect figure and the mystery that surrounded him for the last few days.
You sighed before taking a seat, and he couldn’t be more grateful that you did. He extended his hand to you, which, somewhat nervously, you took, and he gave it a light squeeze. Wow, your hand felt pretty small compared to his.
“I’m Toji.” You gave him a smile before telling him your name.
Yeah. Nothing extraordinary.
After you had the opportunity to learn more about this mysterious man, you knew there would be no turning back. Your mind was possessed by him just minutes after you sat down; not only was he handsome, but he was quite funny and interesting. Maybe it was too soon, but you liked him, and at that moment you wished that wasn’t a one time thing.
He was a little older than you, well, a little too old. Fifteen years wasn’t a big difference, was it?
But if you didn’t care, he cared even less.
When you first spoke in the cafeteria, Toji did so with because he wanted to take you to bed with him; you were very attractive after all. But after having a conversation with you, he wanted much more.
You were everything he was looking for, a young, beautiful, intelligent and wealthy woman.
But above all, manipulable.
Toji knew you had issues. In fact, he noticed a few weeks after meeting you, when you started telling him about your family life.
How your father never paid attention to you and was hardly ever home, leaving you thousands of dollars to spend as compensation for his lack of presence. Also, how he slept with other women and didn’t even bother to hide it. On the other hand, there was your mother, who spent her time being a depressed housewife thanks to her husband’s constant cheating, smoking and drinking at all hours. You even told him how you once heard your poor mom beg your father not to leave her even though he was the one who cheated on her. In the end, he left, leaving a void that Toji wanted to fill.
What he thought was quite nice—and sad, of course—was how calmly and normally you talked about it. As if it were the most normal thing in the world.
Toji took his time in gaining your trust, always telling you what you wanted, or rather, needed to hear. Hiding his true intentions under a smile and nice words. He had a goal, that you fall in love with him so hard that you wouldn’t know how to live without him. And oh honey, you couldn’t have made it easier for him.
You were just so vulnerable. You only wanted to feel loved and wanted, and he’d give you that. He would make you feel like the most special woman in the universe.
Asking you if you had eaten, how was your day, how was college, if you needed anything, buying gifts, telling you how much he loved you and cared about you. Little details that even though they are normal in a relationship, meant so much more to you.
He knew what he was doing.
One day, you were at his house, he was listening attentively to you telling about how your essay had been the best in your class, when you finished, he took your cheeks in his hands and gave you a short kiss before saying: “I’m so proud of you.”
You didn’t know what happened at that moment, it was as if something moved in your chest, the tears started to come on their own as you heard the words you wished you had heard all your life.
“Honey, why are you crying?” He asked, wiping your tears with his thumbs.
You didn’t know what to say, you weren’t even sure why his words shocked you so much, so you just hugged him and mumbled a «thank you», his mischievous smile adorned his face as he caressed your back in comfort.
When you told your friends about him, some of them were excited about you dating an older man, but one of them was worried about you. But you justified yourself by saying that guys your age were immature and stupid, that they could never give you what someone older could, swearing that you didn’t have any issues. Toji thought you looked pretty cute when you said that. But of course, he didn’t like it at all that this friend of yours told you that he wasn’t good for you, that he might be using you and other shit. So he told you that the best thing you could do, if you wanted to stay with him, was to not listen to her words and walk away, so you did.
You never had any suspicion of what he was doing with you, even if someone else told you, how could you? You were blinded by his love. Toji was your boyfriend, things were serious with him; your mom had met him and said she thought he was decent (Honestly, she didn’t give a shit and that played to Toji’s advantage). You met his ten-year-old son and got along well with him, the boy adored you. Everything was fine, there was no possibility that he was manipulating you.
For his part, he couldn’t be happier with the results he was getting. You were like his trophy girlfriend. His ego soared to its limits when his friends would look at you with hungry eyes, some even wanting to make a move on you, but you wouldn’t even turn to look at them, entranced by the man holding your hand. But then, they would make fun of you behind your back, asking how you could be so foolish as to fall in love with someone like Fushiguro. And he, after laughing at his friends’ comments, would just shrug it off, telling them they were just jealous.
After a year and a half of relationship, you were at a point where you would do anything he asked for, you couldn’t say no to him. Anything to keep him happy and satisfied, and more important, to keep him by your side. And he loved that power he had over you; he knew that if he asked you to get on all fours on the floor and bark, you would do it. But don’t worry, he wouldn’t do that, he liked you too much to humiliate you in such a way, although the idea was not out of the question.
Fuck, he was destroying you and couldn’t even feel bad about it.
And please, don’t think he didn’t have feelings for you, he fucking did. It may have started as a game, but it had become something close to an obsession. That’s why his actions, even if it was wrong, because he knew it was. Taking advantage of someone’s traumas wasn’t very moral, but he was never a moral man to begin with, if he was, he wouldn’t have set his eyes on you in the first place.
Yes, he loves you. But listen, it was never said that he at least tried to act like a good boyfriend and respect the relationship.
Tumblr media
Toji grabbed his phone from the nightstand, a picture of his beautiful girlfriend as his wallpaper smiling at him as he unlocked it to open his calling app and press your name decorated with a heart. He held the phone to his ear waiting for you to answer, at the same time, he winked and blew a kiss to the woman who at that moment was smilingly walking out the door of the motel he was at. Sure, he would never fuck other women under the roof of his house, in the place he used to share with you, in the bed where he fucked you. How thoughtful he was, someone give him a prize.
“Hey.” You answered the call in a sweet voice.
“Hi. How are you, baby?” He asked, getting out of bed to put on his boxers, which were lying across the room.
“Good, I just got out of my last class. How about you, love?” You spoke as you said goodbye to your friends, who rolled their eyes when they realized that the person who had called you was your boyfriend.
“I’m just finishing some work.” Before you could ask him what he was working on, he continued, “Have you eaten anything yet?” He placed the phone between his shoulder and his ear to put on his pants.
“No, I’m on my way to the library, I need to finish my essay.”
“You’re such a good girl, you know?” He smiled when he heard your shy laugh as he finished putting on his shirt. “You have time for me tonight, right?”
Usually you would respond with a ‘sure’ as soon as he finished speaking, but you kept quiet, Toji clicked his tongue in disapproval.
“You don’t?”
“Hum. I wanted to tell you that—” You couldn’t control the nervousness in your voice. “A friend of mine is having a party tonight, and, he invited me.”
“He?” His voice was an octave lower, annoyance taking hold of him.
Fuck, what did you get yourself into?
“What’s this guy’s name?” He asked.
“Satoru, but— my girl friends are going too.”
“Look, honey. I don’t care if your friends go, but I’m offended that you’d rather go to a party than spend time with me.”
Of course, there were times when you wanted to do things outside the box that Toji liked to keep you in, and on these occasions, he had to put you in your place, what kind of boyfriend would he be if he didn’t?
“It’s not like that, I just—”
“Listen to me, you’re not going.”
“But—”
On another occasion, you wouldn’t have insisted. But for some reason you really wanted to go, maybe because of your friends’ complaints that because of your boyfriend you didn’t go out with them anymore, maybe because finals were coming up and you didn’t have time to have fun in your last months at college. Maybe it was a combination of both.
But, even if you didn’t want to admit it, it was true. Your time was divided between two things, school and Toji. Yes, sometimes, you would go out with your friends shopping or to a coffee shop, but you preferred not to as they would always try to tell you how your older boyfriend was no good for you. Even when they were excited about the idea in the beginning, as time went on they realized many things that you didn’t.
Toji was always jealous and possessive, even when he didn’t put into practice what he demanded so much of you. He didn’t like you going out to those college parties, where a lot of hormonal boys would be rolling their dirty eyes at you. But what was now getting on his nerves was how you thought you could just walk away to a party without even asking his opinion. He hated not being in control.
The good thing—for him—it’s that he knew how to get his way, exactly what he had to say and do to make you submit.
“In case you no longer want to be with me, I’ll understand.”
At that moment, you felt as if something inside you was breaking into a thousand pieces. Your stomach churned, just as tears threatened to spill from your eyes.
“No, no, no. That’s not what I meant, I just wanted to—”
“Honey, I know what you meant, if you’d rather go to another man’s house for a party, it would be better if we break up so you can go with a clear mind.”
You stood in the middle of the campus practically shaking, while he was already inside his car, fiddling with the keys between his fingers.
It was funny how just an hour ago he was inside another woman, but here he is, making a bit of drama. That’s how blatant he was.
“Stop it! I’m sorry, I’m really sorry. I won’t go.” You said in the middle of your crying, trying to ignore the curious looks of passing students. “I’ll go with you, I’m sorry, it was just a stupid idea.”
A moment of silence formed, where only his breathing and your crying could be heard on the call. You felt your heart want to burst out of your chest as you waited for his answer.
Toji just wanted to torture you a little, so after keeping quiet for a moment, he decided to answer you while a smirk formed on his face, “That’s my girl.”
You sighed with relief when you heard his words.
“I’m sorry.” You mumbled, wiping away your tears with your hand.
“It’s okay, stop crying, sweetie. I’ll pick you up at eight, okay?”
Tumblr media
The clock showed ten o’clock, you were on his couch, your body resting on his while you watched a movie. His hands were on your back underneath your shirt, occasionally caressing your skin down to your butt, covered only by your underwear since Toji had shed your shorts moments before.
Even when his touch felt good, your mind was somewhere else.
“It’s everything okay, baby? You had been unusually quiet since we were in the car.” He whispered, taking your chin in his hand to make you look at him.
“It’s nothing.” Your answer made him frown. It was obvious what was wrong with you, but he wanted to hear it come from your pretty lips.
“What do you mean it’s nothing? Come on, tell me. I’m listening.” He sat with you still on his lap, his hands coming down to caress your thighs.
“Promise me you won’t be mad at me.”
“Just tell me.”
You took a deep breath, gaining courage before speaking,
“You scared me today, I really thought you were going to break up with me.” You said with some nervousness in your voice as you fiddled with the gold chain hanging from his neck.
“I would never want to break up with you, you know that. But sometimes it seems like you leave me no choice. You make me believe that you don’t want to be with me.”
“I want to be with you, more than anything. I just wanted to hang out with my friends.” His grip on your thighs grew stronger with your words, and though you tried, you couldn’t stop the next ones, “I don’t know why that’s such a problem.”
He rolled his eyes before bringing his face dangerously close to yours, you could tell you had angered him. “You wanna know why? Do I really need to explain it?”
“What bothers me is that you think you have the freedom to do whatever you want when you are with me.” He continued, “My opinion doesn’t matter to you?”
You gulped before answering, “It does.”
“So why are you acting like a bitch? Why was this party so important anyway?” You were looking down into your lap, trying to avoid his gaze, just like a scolded child. He cupped your face, squeezing your cheeks with his hand harder than necessary. “Don’t tell me you were expecting to see someone?”
“What? No!”
“I’m sorry, but I can’t think of any other reason. Is that Satoru guy? That’s why you wanted to go to his fucking party, huh? So he could fuck you.”
Toji noticed how tears threatened to flow from your eyes. He knew he was exaggerating, you could never cheat on him even by mistake, but his obsession with having control over you was bigger than common sense, and if he needed to create drama, he would.
“No! He’s just my friend, I swear! I’ll never—” You tried to explain, but your words were interrupted by his.
“Shut up.”
He grabbed you by the waist to pull you off his lap and position you on the couch while he stood up to look down at you with his arms crossed, making the veins in them stand out.
You had always felt much smaller than him, but now it seemed you were so much more.
“Maybe this is what I get for dating a younger woman.”
You felt your soul leave your body, the tears you had been holding back slipped down your cheeks. Where was all this going?
“Don’t say that.”
“I think the best would be to end our relationship here and now.”
He turned and started walking towards his room, you quickly stood up to follow him and took his arm, making him stop a few steps away.
“Toji! Please… please.” Your voice cracked thanks to your growing tears. “I’d never cheat on you!”
He clicked his tongue and turned to look at you.
“Why are you crying? Shouldn’t you be happy? So you won’t have anyone to stop you from going to parties and fucking other men?” With his free hand he took yours to remove it from his arm. “Take this as a favor.”
No, he couldn’t leave you. He can’t. What would you be without him? You loved him. You needed him. And you would do whatever it took to keep him from leaving.
So you didn’t think twice when you got down on your knees on the floor and grabbed the edge of his shirt.
This wasn’t the first time you had gotten down on your knees before Toji, and it definitely wouldn’t be the last.
“Please, don’t leave me.” You begged amid sobs. “Please.”
At that moment you saw yourself reflected in your mother, those nights she begged your father not to leave. It was humiliating. But that didn’t matter, because even if it didn’t work for her, it could work for you, right?
“Why should I?” He questioned, cocking his head.
“I’m nothing without you, please don’t leave. I love you.” You leaned your head against his leg, tears wetting his pants as your fists wrinkled his shirt.
Toji almost felt bad. But god, seeing you on your knees begging him not to leave you, his ego went through the roof. He wished you could see how beautiful you looked at that moment. Having that kind of power over someone was such a turn-on that it couldn’t compare to the effect of any drug.
He brought one of his hands to your head, stroking your hair as a kind of comfort as you cried.
“You love me?” You looked up at him when he whispered his question, he took the opportunity to wipe away your tears with his thumb.
“I do. A lot.”
Toji smiled mischievously and ran his tongue across his lips before speaking.
“Show me then.”
You understood what he meant, so you quickly grabbed the band of his pants and pulled them down along with his underwear, freeing his half-hard member. You took it in your hand to start stroking it up and down.
There was no other way you liked to please Toji more than sexually. At this point you were practically an expert in everything he liked, and you were more than proud of it. You liked to make him feel good, whatever the circumstance. And if that’s what he wanted now, you’d be more than glad to do it, much more if it would make him stay.
When he was fully erect you licked the tip which caused him to gasp  and his muscles to tense. You didn’t want to make him wait any longer, so you took him all the way into your mouth at once, moving your head back and forth, flicking your tongue at the same time as you stroked with your hand what didn’t fit in your mouth.
You put it all in your mouth, your nose bumping into his pubic hair, you managed to stick your tongue out and lick his balls. Toji threw his head back, he loved when you did that.
“Shit.” He groaned taking your hair in his fist to keep you still, so he could fuck himself into your mouth.
His pace was brutal from the start, your tears kept falling as you did your best to breathe through your nose and avoid your gag reflex. You didn’t want to fail him.
“This is what you wanted to do with him? Deepthroat his dick like you do with mine.” He asked between gasps.
He knew you couldn’t answer with his cock torturing your poor throat, so he continued,
“But you’re mine, right?” He smiled as he closed his eyes, feeling his climax near. “Yes—god—you fucking are.” He mumbled more to himself.
Toji stopped moments before his orgasm, letting you enjoy a moment of freedom before he forced you to your feet by pulling your hair to kiss you, his tongue colliding with yours and biting your lip to such an extent that he could taste a little blood.
He started walking without breaking the kiss until he was in front of the couch, where he turned you around and pushed you with your back facing him, your knees rested in the plush while you supported your body with your hands on the backrest.
Your boyfriend remained standing to practically tear your underwear, which ended up poorly hanging from your leg. Then, he leaned in close enough until his lips brushed against your ear. One of his hands took your hair in a tight grip and the other began to caress the skin of your ass.
“It makes me sick just thinking that you were going to put a party over me today.” He whispered, moving his hand to your crotch and begin to make circles on your clit with two of his fingers. “Who do you think you are?”
“I’m sorry.” You moaned, closing your eyes to the stimulation. Tears kept coming out of your eyes, it was amazing how you had never stopped crying. What he said kept piercing your mind.
“I know you’re sorry, baby, I know you are. But I can’t just forget about that.” Toji inserted his fingers inside you, moving them slowly in and out, wetting them with your fluids. “It just makes me wonder if I’m wasting my time with you.”
“Please, don’t say that.” His words hurt you like stabs in the chest, and he said them for that very purpose. He took the fight too far? No doubt about it. Did he care? You fucking wish.
“I can say whatever I want.”
He withdrew his fingers to take his cock and align it with your entrance, sliding the tip across your labia to lubricate himself. It didn’t take long when he pushed himself all the way inside you, groaning at the sensation of your walls around him.
He grabbed you by the hips to support himself so he could start ramming you without mercy. The sound of skin colliding echoed in the room, your body moved back and forth by the force of him thrusting his hips.
You tried to suppress your moans as you felt him sink deep inside you, but it became almost impossible when one of his hands reached down to stimulate your clit again.
“Fuck.” He moaned when he felt you squeeze him. How could he not be obsessed with you when you were so tight?
Toji placed his free hand on your neck as he pressed his chest against your back in an attempt to feel you closer to him. You could hear his accelerated breathing in your ear causing you to tingle.
You felt your orgasm begin to build in your belly, he knew your body better than anyone, so he pressed his fingers a little harder and quickened his pace to make you cum faster.
You threw your head forward on the backrest when you finally reached your high, your legs faltered but Toji didn’t give you time to recover after the explosion of pleasure you felt as he chased his own climax, feeling in heaven when you came around his cock.
He put one leg up on the couch to give himself better support so he could thrust deeper into you as he moved his hands to dig his nails into the flesh of your hips.
“I’m gonna cum.” He announced amidst his groans.
You didn’t even get a chance to tell him to pull out when he was already filling your pussy with his warm cum. He even continued to slide in and out at a slow pace until he was sure he was done.
Toji stayed inside you for a few minutes while he caught his breath before pulling out of you, he also spent a few seconds appreciating how his white liquid came out of your hole before adjusting his pants and taking off his shirt to use it to clean the excess fluids from your bodies.
Once he finished, he tossed the shirt across the room to sit on the couch next to you, patting his lap as a cue for you to sit on it.
“Come here.”
You did as he said, his hands automatically going to the skin of your ass to caress it as he began to leave wet kisses on your neck. You brought your hands to his head to stroke his black hair gently in an attempt to relax him.
His green eyes met yours, he took advantage of the eye contact to appreciate your beauty. God, he felt so lucky to have a woman like you wrapped around his finger.
“You’re so pretty.” He sighed, tucking a lock of hair behind your ear. You smiled at his praise, your cheeks blushing slightly.
“Toji? Is everything okay between us now?” You asked nervously.
“It is, honey, don’t worry.” He replied squeezing your cheek a little. “You just have to understand that I want the best for both of us. What you did today made me believe that my opinion doesn’t matter to you.”
“It does matter. What you think is much more important than a stupid party.” You said, and he gave a half smile.
He placed a short kiss on your cheek before adding, “And I have to admit, it makes me insecure about you going to those kinds of parties, full of college boys that you might like better than this old man you’re dating.”
Yes, he was playing the victim. But you didn’t see it that way, you just saw your poor boyfriend feeling insecure because of you.
“I only want you, you know that, I don’t care about other guys, least of all those immature college guys.” You gave him a short kiss on the lips before continuing, “I’m sorry again, I don’t want you to feel that way ever again because of me.”
“It’s okay.” He shrugged.
“I love you.” You said wrapping your arms around his torso, resting your head on his shoulder.
When you could no longer see his face, Toji smiled mischievously. Once again he had made you cry, once again he had made you beg on your knees for him, once again he had gotten away with taking advantage of your vulnerability. He destroyed you once again and still didn’t feel bad about it.
He kissed your head before whispering in your ear,
“I love you too.”

I think YoungDae is a natural at comedy. I have seen him exceed at serious and definitely dramatic and painful scenes in this drama, but I have witnessed enough of him in romcoms to know he just has a talent for it and I think comical acting and actually making the audience laugh is hard. Here's to a bright future with YoungDae!

I wanted to take him seriously but the haunted house of an amusement park is no place for a serious conversation. Especially if they end up running after being scared away by a "ghost" lol

i wondered a few eps ago the same thing and thought that maybe, in a world without worries and wars to be fought ordered by his nasty father and in the name of a kingdom he did not care for, DoHa's personality would be a lot more relaxed and even silly, just like the original Juno was. And after this amusement park date, I see that's true.
It's kinda sad because it's clear as day both personalities are total opposites, and yet it can be said they're just two sides of the same coin, only shaped by the circumstances and times they've lived in. DoHa never had a reason to smile and basically had no care for his own life until RiTa came along, because he grew up under an abusing father who hated him and sent him to die in wars. While Juno lived fully and grew up spoiled, first by his brother and then by the entire country. Maybe he was a little too much, had little care for his own dignity when he pursued a woman who clearly had no feelings for him but JunHo loved life and I think is sad that he had a death sentence. I think that's a cruel fate, but the same can be said about DoHa and Rita and now that we know she dies at 30, YoungHwa as well.
I see too that the drama has been coy at letting us know why exactly DoHa was able to enter JunHo's body and even DoHa himself is without explanation about it. He doesn't seem to care that much tbh, which only means there's a bigger meaning here that we're gonna found out later on.

BSD HEADCANONS ~ HOUSE WIFE EDITION
~Fyolai~
For these two it could honestly go either way, but I like to think that Nikolai prefers to be the house wife. Fyodor would come home after work and Nikolai would have dinner ready and have cleaned the entire house, not because he thought it would be nice, because he acedentally burned the original dinner and freaked out and made a mess, then procceded to get take out and say he made it (fyodor knows and doesn't say anything)
~Skk~
Chuuya is the house wife, you can't change my mind. Though I could see it both ways tbh. Chuuya would do the laundry and dishes and use excuses like "well you never clean your clothes" or "if you ate less I would have to do so much" but in reality he doesn't mind. Dazai also helps around the house when he has the chance, but would never let Chuuya know he helped. Chuuya would be able to cook extremely well, and Dazai loves his cooking, and though he never admits it, Chuuya makes sure Dazai eats enough each day.
~Sskk~
(This was what inspired me to make this post lol)
Ok so heres the thing. Atsushi would be the house wife if there were one. he would happily do the dishes, and the laundry. He would stress clean often. Only the one thing he knows how to cook is chazuke. This often leads to Akutagawa getting upset and cooking himself. *This* often leads to a fire. In the end, they get takeout and watch movies.
~Ranpoe~
We all know that Poe is the house wife here. He'd make sure Ranpo eats real food throughout the day, and he would help out around the house. He would have a little office/library to write in during the day while he waits for Ranpo to get home, and he would watch comedy movies with Ranpo at night. (they cant watch horror/mysteries since Ranpo always spoils them)
If anyone has any ideas lmk, I might make a part two
(This is all for the silly goofs, don't take this too seriously)

Hi, I have a question and I thought that asking you might qork because you're really good at this but did Elvis ever said anything about crossdressing for Girl Happy? If it made him uncomfortable or if he found it funny or anything?
Tumblr media
hello, thank you so much for the ask ꨄ︎ !!
tbh the first time I watched “girl happy” and saw that scene my immediate thought was~ how did y’all convince Elvis to wear that ?
Tumblr media
and then my second thought was what would be Elvis’ drag name because he was rocking that dress a little too good
(please share your drag name idea for Elvis if you have one lmaoo)
as for your question I unfortunately couldn’t find anything specific like a comment by Elvis about having to wear a dress for the scene but knowing that he was prideful, especially about his image, I would imagine he likely wasn’t too thrilled about it although probably never voiced any opposition about it either
by that time in his film career he had made so many of the same kinds of pictures, requiring him to do so many humiliating things, that I think he became almost desensitized to the material. He knew he had no choice in what would be asked of him and so he just did the best with what he got
MARTY LACKER: “Elvis was ruined by the Colonel and by Hal Wallis, they didn’t let him develop… About ‘64 or ‘65, Elvis started saying ‘Colonel, I’m tired of doing the same old damn movies’. The turning point was “Girl Happy”, when the script was so lame and the songs, like ‘Do the Clam’ were so obnoxious. When he had to film the scene where he sings ‘Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce’, he went around the whole day ranting”
(excerpt from “Elvis and the Memphis Mafia” by Alanna Nash)
but honestly when thinking of all the things that he had to do for the sake of “comedy” in his films (like the god forsaken yoga scene in easy come, easy go) having to wear a silly little dress seems far more preferable 😭
from what I have read it actually seems like he was far more bothered by having to wear a blond wig in “kissin’ cousins”
Tumblr media
(excerpt from “Elvis” by Jerry Hopkins)
idk something that I’ve always admired about Elvis was how he was able to persevere despite everything that was thrown at him, especially during his film career; he was unhappy with the movies he was making, unhappy with the songs he had to sing, unhappy with the costumes, and yet he always showed up to set on time, he always took studying his lines seriously, and he was always willing to do 40 takes or more of those songs just to get them perfect
look at him picking up his script for “double trouble” so that he could start studying it 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will forever be frustrated about how the Colonel completely sabotaged Elvis and his love for acting… we truly got something great in “King Creole” and not only was the film great but Elvis was proud of it and that is what I love about it most of all
and on a random side note please enjoy some photos of Billy Smith, Elvis’ cousin, donning a woman’s blouse and some fake breasts when he acted as Anne Helm’s body double for “follow that dream” bc he also makes a pretty woman 💀

Oh your requests are still open, yay! May I request some hcs of a movie date night for Hinata, Kageyama, Tendou, and Nishinoya with their partners?
A/N: oh yeah yeah yeah! I can definitely do this for you. Thanks for sending in a request (at the moment requests are also still open for headcanons if anyone else wants to send some in!)
TAGS: headcanons, fluff, movie night, making out mentions, mentions of sex but nothing explicit, suggestive content
CHARACTERS: Hinata Shouyou, Kageyama Tobio, Tendou Satori, Nishinoya Yuu
HINATA SHOUYOU:
The idea of having a movie date with him at your place is very cute but he's also the kind of guy who can't sit still for long periods of time without doing something. He's just? Gotta move! Can't not be restless! Gotta fiddle. Get him a stim device or just offer up your thigh to let him massage with his hand.
Better off watching an anime movie of a manga he likes (like One Piece). He'd also be down to watch comedies, rom-coms and will probaby be into action movies.
Just make it something you can tune in and out off. Don't watch something where you have to watch every little detail or you don't want to miss a thing because he's a talker too. Hinata just wants to know all of your thoughts and tell you his.
The thing is, his attention span with movies is a little eh~ Between that and having the need to always be doing something with his hands, you're either going to have to help or deal.
That means occupying his hands (put yours in his~ hey hey~) or if you're feeling extra bold, just climb right on into his lap/pull him into yours.
He's also the kind of guy who sees pulling 'the move' of throwing his arm around your shoulders as the perfect moment during movies. His hand on your arm will be restless too and fiddle with your top or will massage your shoulder/arm.
With the talking it's nonstop too. It's very cute. He just goes and goes making jokes and doing impressions of the characters. Join in with him if you want, he loves hearing all your jokes and impressions too. It becomes a competition of who can do the best ones.
Quite literally the only way to shut him up (unless you enjoy the rambling) is to make out with him. Many a movie night with Hinata turns into a makeout session.
Who knows what the movie was even about?
DO NOT watch horror movies with him or he will smack you in the face (ACCIDENTALLY!) because he jumps at everything! Shrieks and flails. Throws the popcorn. Will cling to you like a koala. And then at the end will declare it wasn't even that scary! Sure babe.
KAGEYAMA TOBIO:
Okay so movie nights with him are also sweet. The poor honey though it's a 50/50 if he stays awake the whole way through. It's not that he's bored! He's just so relaxed and comfortable in your presence he can't help but drift off, especially if it's after a long day or week.
Loves to be cuddling. Even if you two are just hanging on the couch movie or not he's wanting to be indulging in some couple time. For him movie night is more about spending time together than the movie itself.
Ask Kageyama what half the movies you watched were about he can't give you a solid answer tbh. 'Idk romance?' It was a thriller babe but sure it was a romance let's go with that.
He can't help it. Kageyama was just so caught up in your warmth, your scent and nuzzling your neck to the backdrop of screams.
Can literally watch anything. When he is awake and pays attention does ask questions. Appreciates you taking the time to answer them and not make him feel silly.
'Wait why's he mad and got a gun on him I thought they were friends?' Kageyama asks brow furrowing.
'No honey, he was lying to get information out of him.' You explain.
'Tch.' He hugs you tigther. 'Loser, he deserves to have a gun on him instead.'
You snort. 'Sure babe.' It's cute that Kageyama takes friendships and relationships so seriously even in silly action movies. He's sweet that way.
Sometimes his hands just seem to wander during movie nights. Not necessarily in a sexual way but he just likes to be touching you. Likes the connection. A hand under your shirt, on your thigh or over your chest. Just touching, softly kneading and stroking. Always asks 'Is this okay?' and makes sure you're comfortable with it.
Only takes it further if you want to. But if he does it's really slow and drawn out because it's his only chance to really take his time. Just likes his down time with you.
TENDOU SATORI:
The man with a plan that loves a good movie night. Has the collection both physically and digitally. He thinks there's just something about collecting physically but started up a digital collection once he moved to the dorms because he had to travel light so it became a habit he took into adulthood.
Likes to have a whole set up having movie night with you to make it an experience. He's showing you his favourite movies after all so he wants you to get the best out of them even if you don't like them Tendou wants to give them the best chance.
Owns a projector to make things fun. Likes having popcorn and treats. Tells you lots about the movie beforehand (not spoilers) just general things to get you pumped! Blankets and comfy couch or those fancy two person bean bags to cuddle on.
While he does want you to watch the movie he's more about the experience so he talks if you talk. Is just buzzing with energy. Likes watching you! Seeing you laugh when things are funny. React at the shocking or sad things or just seeing if you react the way he thought you might. If you're touched the same way he was.
Tendou mainly hopes it's fun or just worth the time. He does like horror and thriller films so bonus if you do too or are willing to put up with them. Loves seeing you jump. Finds it fun if you want to analyse the film with him. Even if its just to make fun of the tropes.
If you watch a new thriller or horror together he likes trying to guess what will happen. Singing victory songs and cheers for whoever guesses things right! Perhaps winner gets smooches.
Cheeky. He likes trying to throw in his own jumpscares in movies sometimes (if you aren't already too terrified--he's not too mean). Do it back! He gets a thrill. You two will be doing it all week when the movies long over.
Throwing popcorn at each other. Trying to catch it in your mouth. Lots of laughing. The making out doesn't happen until the credits roll.
Sometimes the best sex you've ever had together happens after a movie marathon and you two are high on analysing the films and laughing about theories and stupid jokes. The next minute you're making out and taking each other's clothes off and just so wrapped up in each other.
Tendou the movie man knows what he's doing when it comes to recommending movies and setting the mood.
NISHINOYA YUU
Movie nights with Nishinoya are absolute chaos where anything can happen. You'll start of watching a movie but then you two will see a cake in the movie and will crave cake that you just have to have the next minute you're at the grocery store running amuck buying instant mix to bake a cake.
Other times you manage to make it all the way through an entire movie together. Sometimes you get through half of one and want to watch another.
Life with Nishinoya is just following the happy trail wherever it takes you, honestly.
When you do watch movies though they could be ANYTHING.
'Hey Tanaka was talking about this movie the other day we should totally watch it!' and that's all it takes you're watching a comedy movie that came out a year ago. You'd meant to go see it when it came out but life got in the way.
He's not one to sit still and be quiet during a movie. The two of you will start cuddling on the couch. Probably the first maybe fifteen minutes of the movie continue that way. The guy is restless though. Will start thinking outloud.
'You think he's the love interest?' He'll start asking about every random guy who comes onto the screen.
'Babe it's the guy on the cover.' You'll assure him.
'I didn't look, it keeps it a surprise.' He smirks. No not a surprise he just wants to be funny/annoying and say it's every guy BUT the love interest and feign disappointment when the main couple does get together.
'What do you mean she's getting together with him what about background character B she bought coffee off in the first half? They totally had chemistry!'
'Wow if only you had seen this coming somehow.' You pat him on the head. 'Like, say, by looking at the dvd cover the movie came in?'
He pouts. 'I think I'm going to need a lot more than head pats to feel better. Background character B totally got cheated, babe!'
And that's how Nishinoya gets kisses out of you from movie night. It is fun though. It becomes it's own fun experience each time you watch a movie.

watched a popular movie so there's a mandatory my complaints and opinions longpost
barbie is a decent comedy with great visuals for sure but i have to say the social justice dialogue was written unbearably, felt like a 2012 bad tumblr post that wouldn't end. the real shame however is that imo the movie refused to take itself seriously even for a minute at crucial moments while making its entire plot about serious things, so it was like, okay, then what's the point.. you're saying patriarchy every other sentence and talking about the incredible pressure on women and having to deal with sexual harassment etc but every single scene is played like we're in beverly hills chihuahua. yes it's a comedy naturally but firstly comedy doesn't have to mean lowbrow slapstick all the time and secondly beverly hills chihuahua understands that it can't have those dogs be talking about abortion and fighting the islamic state with little pink paw pad drones, yknow?
the parody of male identity and masculinity was overall very lacklustre and disappointing too cause it had no bite, it was more like when south park depicts a celebrity as an adult baby- trite and kinda childish and with that air of smugness that tells you the author thinks too highly of themself to even need to flesh it out. which sucks! there's so much about men to satirise and roast lol. gosling is comparably quite old and there wasn't even one hairline or forehead wrinkles comment. sort of a haha gay joke about michael cera's comedic relief character ig? and will ferrell's character could've been wholly scrapped idk what he was even doing there tbh
the big inspiring message about female empowerment, too, is a little bit undercut (haters would say demolished) by there being no bulldagger barbie (or human), margot robie's miraculous powerful ending being that she now dresses and looks exactly like as a doll except her pink shoes are now flats and there's also a breakfast club tier makeover on a teen girl who hates barbie and talks like an sjw courtesy of plebcomics to show that she is now instead happy and pink and loves barbie. and even tho there's 1 fat barbie side character and 1 background wheelchair barbie the topic of unrealistic body proportions (the #1 complaint against barbie dolls!) and beauty pressure is entirely carefully omitted. there's a moment where a narrator coyly acknowledges this like, hehe margot robie is too pretty a casting choice to make this point about feeling ugly. yeah ok but, well. you still did it though. and every other actress too. they even ditched "weird" barbie's destroyed choppy hair + sharpie on face appearance for a put together "punk" outfit with flawless makeup and styled hair. even the destroyed toy can't forego her feminine beauty makeover, and it's only then that the other barbies apologise for ostracising her. big win for looking however you want.
ryan gosling was fantastic though i was really surprised by his singing voice and performance. and i cannot overstate my praise for the costuming and set designs, actual artistry all around

gintama was healing to me because its nature has a comedy show that breaks the 4th wall all the time is that it helps you take a distance. like don't get me wrong gintama can be deep and serious but it's also so very unserious in a way that doesn't make the serious parts less impactful it's just yeah listen life is stupid and absurd like that and people are full of wounds but overall we all act very silly. it humbles itself all the time in a way that i found very pleasing...When I love something I tend to dig deeper and deeper and it can be hard for me to take a distance the more i'm emotionally invested. And then you have gintama that constantly switch between 20 episodes of the characters doing shits together and serious arcs with character deaths and brain rewiring level of drama and angst. And even in these serious arcs there is an effective mix of comedy and seriousness that makes it undoubtly gintama (I think that's why I have issues with farewell shinsengumi tbh it takes itself too seriously to my taste...among other things but that's another discussion).
When Gintoki reveals his wooden sword has nothing special at all and that he threw away the notebook of his dead teacher bc he spilled ramen on it, and when the characters make fun of takasugi's emo image behind his back, and when we finally get a joui4 reunion and you expect tragic reminiscences of a lost war and camaraderie but it's actually so stupid you even wonder if it's real. The war was definitely a traumatizing experience and we see that as well, but what matters most is what the characters choose to remember, and how they live day by day in the present.
And I still love trying to fill the blanks and thinking about the characters' past and what made them who they are today but it's all very personal in the end. i will make my assumptions based on vibes and what i choose to take seriously or not. it's like the cat of shrödinger(sorry) but like 'is gintama deep or not' and you never know for sure and it doesnt matter in the end and it's fun. And something Gintama is very serious about is that there is so much love in the comedy and the fun.

Ok......So, the new HB episode is out, how unexpected for me. I apologize to my fellow readers for not reviewing the previous episode, but I was so tired and busy, having to deal with a lot of work. The cat must have got my tongue when I saw the dildo scene, I'm sorry. And what can I say......Actually, this episode is the best one in the 2 season at this moment. I mean, at least it wasn't that cringe and plot ruining as the other ones.
The animation looks pretty good in action scenes(and not so good in other, especially when some characters speak). The backgrounds look good, and I somewhat like the fact that the Sloth Ring is pink. Looks so sweet, bubblegum and cotton candy-like. But the floating pieces of ground are very cliche for a fantasy world. Also I think there were too many sound effects, when sometimes it feels like there's a lack of them. In principle, everything is as always. Stolas is a damsel in distress again, Moxxie and Millie are boring, Stella is evil(and extremely stupid for some reason), Blitzo is loud and annoying and spits cuss words every second because the authors think it's funny. Also Loona just...... didn't speak in this ep at all. No words. Don't know if it's good or not. The plotline of her going to doctor and being afraid of shots is pretty boring, tbh. I still have no idea why hellhounds are treated like some pets in this universe when they're competent and sensible beings. Also, I don't know if anyone told that or this is just me, but I absolutely hate the idea of putting fucking westerns in "Hell". I know Vivzie isn't so original and her universe is super bland and uninteresting, but shit, westerns just don't stick in the setting of Hell at all, it's not that vibe and it looks ridiculous. And that's not because I don't like westerns. Striker's song felt absolutely redundant, and Striker himself seems....unnatural? Seems like Vivzie made him that masculine bigot guy who's bigheaded and is obsessed with having a huge cock(because dicks are funny according to the writers). They have finally showed Andrealphus, Stella's brother, and there's nothing interesting about him to say. I'm just glad they didn't make him a stereotypical gay. Knowing Vivzie's "rep" and how feminine he looks, it would be predictable. As I've said before, he looks like a shameless Elsa ripoff, as his blue ice castle(covered with red fucking sky, god, these palette choices burn out my eyes). I've heard some controversial and suspicious stuff considering him and Stella(more precisely, someone says that originally they were going to have incestuous relationship). Not sure if it's true, and I do hope that Vivzie won't go so far in making Stella an unredeemable villain.
Tumblr media
I didn't see anything "weird" or vulgar in their conversation, it felt like puerility. I like to imagine that their relationship is like a niminy-piminy brother always cheering up and complimenting his little sis because he can. I've seen some cartoons with a similar character dynamic and a certain part of their fandoms found indecent connotation in this, and that's their problems in their depravity. And yeah, I know that my thoughts aren't true and they obviously have a manipulative relationship. Andre straight up insulted Stella and manipulated her, btw. If Viv really wanna do them having incest - fine, another reason to quit watching this show. But something tells me that she won't dare to lose a bunch of fans and be yet again cancelled in social networks.
Summing up, this episode was pretty good by the standards of the season and bad by the standards of..... something qualitative I guess? Viv still hasn't learned how to separate drama from comedy, which makes it difficult, no, impossible to feel Stolas' sad shit. This character is one of my personal winners in the list of the most repulsive and annoying creatures and him always being sex crazed about Blitzo pisses me off. How the hell are we supposed to take him seriously if all he wants is a dick? The rest of the time he whines about how unhappy he is and pretends to care about his daughter. Season 2 continues to look like terrible Wattpad fanfiction and it discourages from watching this series. It's not even fun to hate or criticize it anymore, it's just......Ehh.

Always sunny anon replying: funny you mentioned Bojack being I believe Viv has said in the past on her twitter that she wants HB to be the next BH yet seems to not understand what makes a show like Bojack work to begin with. (I'll admit I haven't watched Bojack Horseman yet. I've been sleeping on it way to long tbh).
Yeah absolutely. Viv doesnt seem to get that bojack worked in not only in its ability to make people like bojack while not excusing his actions, but also how its structured as 'comedy turned drama'.
(major spoilers for bojack horseman btw, you can just skip to the end/the last paragraph of this post)
Now in bojack's first season, it was a comedy pretty early and stayed that way till later down the season and it continued to grow naturally to a drama (though the comedy is still there of course). Helluva boss though, seems to be all over the place as just after episode 1, episode 2 takes a more serious/dramatic approach when the show is meant to appear at first to be a dark humoured comedy, along with most of the season not even sticking to its original premise, instead focusing more of set ups and stolitz drama that both didnt go much of anywhere (striker might be an exception though i feel like the end with him could be another set up). What wouldve worked is that episode 1 - 4 is entirely on the original premise for helluva boss and the rest would be more serious (with strikers introduction, the agents and stolitz drama) with season 2 continuing the more serious approach. Hell, if their gonna include stolas family drama, why not portray it as comedy at first, then use it later on to portray it more seriously. Like in season 1 of bojack where he and sarah lynn slept with each other, its being treated as comedic. But when he revealed that he slept with her in the interview, its being treated completely seriously and use it to highlight bojacks problem from him with young women and his issues with accountability, episode 2 could portray the cheating as comedic (with stella throwing objects while rambling while stolas dodges them like a dodgeball game with octavia initially being presented as the typical 'lonely stuck in the mud teenager' but we still get hints of her being more than that later down the episode) and while it ends on them leaving the festival in an awkward comedic way, that would used in seeing stars where octavia vents about her family drama, including on how neglectful stolas has become as a father from the festival incident. Im kinda surprised viv didnt consider to use it because it would be a perfect tool for helluva boss to use.
Another reason why bojack worked compared to helluva boss is its characters. While bojack was written well, the rest of the characters (especially women) shine through and we get to see more of who they are overtime. We dont really get much on that with helluva (especially the women), sure we get their backstories though we dont really have much depth if that make sense. Like when we compare todd to moxxie, todd's deal is that he's extremely helpful and he actually have stuff going on for him, its only bojack thats holding him back so when he finally distance himself from bojack, not only is it consistent but its also not repetitive, instead we get to know more about todd, seeing his relationships, discovering his asexuality etc...hell, he even has his own episode where he learn to make time for himself too instead of always helping out everyone. Moxxie has an arc of overcoming his weakness but the thing is, it repeats the same arc that it can get tiring to watch. What would work for him is that he slowly develops him overcoming his weakness instead of it just being repeated (like maybe further snapping at blitzo or confess that he considers quitting) Its a real shame too because him being close to morally good than morally grey or bad (which i predict thats what most of hells beings would be) opens a gate to a lot of possibilities for him as a character like why he took the job, how he met his wife, how he views the world around him etc...but they clearly didnt know what to do with him especially when season 1 wasnt even properly planned (as viv literally admits this on twitter too) so its why he as a character feels stagnant. But a bigger comparison however, has to be the women in the shows. People tend to praise the show for how it writes its women characters, often from diane and princess caroline. They're shown to be as messy and complex as men like bojack in the show though other women characters had their time to shine like hollyhock, kelley, gina, penny, bojack's mother etc...Its clear that bojack writes both men and women well in the show. Helluva boss on the other hand, is quite unbalanced in its writing for men and women. Specifically with the men having more variety and generall knowledge about them than the women. Like millie and loona, despite being major characters, have very little depth especially with millie who wouldnt even be a character if we remove her from moxxie. And even with the other women characters, they dont have much depth either (or at last we dont get to see that depth often like with verosika), they all in some way are in the roles for men characters (octavia and loona being there to establish the good in stolas and blitzo or stella and verosika being there to establish to either be the villain or to show a part of the man's past) Its very clear that viv favours men characters than women as alastor and angel dust having more going on than charlie, the main character herself. I mean, both shows are technically character driven and to be character driven, your gonna have to make sure your characters can equally shine on their own instead of one having more depth than the other.
To put it shortly, i dont think viv really gets why bojack was successful to audiences to begin with and in turn, failed to achieve that success with it being how she structures her show for the 'comedy turned drama' style being all over the place when bojacks was of natural progress and her imbalanced/poorly planned writing of men and women characters where it wasn't an issue in BoJack

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Steve wasn’t sure what he was expecting when Eddie said he’d gotten him a gift, but it sure as shit wasn’t this.
“Oh, my god,” Steve said, holding it up to see it in all its glory. A t-shirt with words printed over a rainbow across the chest: Steve & Robin - Not dating, just gay and codependent.
“Obviously, I have one for Robin too,” Eddie said, tossing Steve a second shirt.
“Oh, my God!” Steve repeated, laughing this time. It was perfect and so incredibly weird. He couldn’t wait to model them with his best friend and take the most ridiculous not-couple pictures of all time. “This is - I mean, Jesus! I love it, but would you let me be the impressive one for once?”
Eddie looked Steve up and down, then smirked.
“With those abs? Don’t worry, you’re still the impressive one here.” Steve blushed, then sat up in bed so he could put the shirt on, but Eddie stopped him. “Woaaaah there, what are you doing? You can’t cover up, I’m enjoying the view.” Steve rolled his eyes.
“You’re not going to let me use the gift you got me?”
“Not yet,” Eddie replied. “I’m actually kind of regretting the whole thing now. You should probably never wear a shirt ever again. Can I have it back actually?” Steve chuckled, then smacked Eddie playfully on the arm.
“No way.”
“Steve, you wound me," Eddie joked. "But fine, as you wish."
Eddie and Steve had been official for 2 months at this point, and everything was kind of perfect. They each continued to work their respective jobs, and with their added happiness came enhanced customer service.
Bob was happy - both for Eddie’s shift in demeanor as well as for the business. They were doing great! Plus, he got bonus points as a step-dad for introducing Will to Eddie and the shop. Will came to visit a few more times, and this time he got to talk to Steve, too. It was clear that seeing a happy gay couple was important for Will. He hadn’t seen much of that in his small town, so seeing Eddie and Steve be so grossly into each other was refreshing.
And gross.
But mostly refreshing!
One day, Will’s older brother dropped Will off at the shop, introducing yet another cool person into the friend group - Jonathan. By then, Eddie had succeeded in making Argyle his friend, and the two of them spent many nights smoking and watching those stupid stoner comedies together in Argyle’s weird, confusingly giant house that he somehow lived in.
Seriously, how did the guy have a house like that already? How did he have the money to travel so much with Chrissy? Her show was good and all, but it couldn’t possibly be getting her that much income.
In any case, Argyle and Eddie were buds, so Argyle also happened to be around when Jonathan walked into Ink About It.
The bromance between Jonathan and Argyle was pretty much immediate. Eddie would have felt mildly jealous about it if he hadn’t noticed some very familiar (aka queer) vibes between the two. Perhaps Will wasn’t the only Byers grappling with their identity, that's all Eddie was saying - but it was just speculation. Eddie kept his mouth shut (except to Steve, obviously, who fully agreed). In due time, as with anything else.
So then they all hung out - Chrissy, Jonathan, Argyle, Steve, Eddie, and Robin. They’d formed quite the friend group - all of them getting along with each other beautifully. Argyle even hosted a road trip with the squad in his giant pizza van (???) so that they could all surprise Gareth at a Corroded Coffin show.
That night was epic, and it finally cemented Robin and Chrissy as girlfriends.
After their date, they’d both been super into each other - undeniably so. Yet, because Chrissy was so often moving around, they’d decided it was best to just stay friends.
Yeah. Eddie and Steve knew that wouldn’t last very long.
It still lasted longer than it should have, and the pining was rampant. Every time they all hung out, the two women wouldn’t stop staring at each other, cracking jokes, and giving everyone else in the room ample opportunities to share knowing glances…
And then they went on the road trip, and they got super drunk, and Robin tended to speak a lot more freely when she was intoxicated.
She professed her love to Chrissy on the dance floor.
It was a bold move, but it paid off. Chrissy and Argyle extended their stay in Hawkins, and Robin and Chrissy became an official couple.
Coincidentally, that night was also pretty huge for Eddie and Steve. Firstly, because Chrissy and Robin had dropped the “I love you’s” before they had, which felt kind of ridiculous, considering Eddie and Steve obviously loved each other.
“The fucking lesbians stole my thunder!” Eddie yelled from the bar, watching Robin and Chrissy hug each other on the dance floor.
“What are you talking about?” Steve asked, amused at his boyfriend’s antics.
“Ladies and Gentleman!”
Gareth’s voice boomed from the stage. The band had taken a quick break, but were back on. Eddie grinned, then grabbed Steve’s hand.
“Come on,” he said. “Let’s get closer.” They wandered through the crowd (past Chrissy and Robin) as Gareth continued.
“We’ve got a surprise for you all. You see, my boy Eddie Munson requested we play a special song tonight. So, this one’s for you, Flower Boy. Lord knows we wouldn’t play this for anyone else.”
Before Steve could even process what was happening, the band began to play. It wasn’t metal, it was -
“I Melt With You,” Steve said once he recognized it. “I love this song.”
“Iiiiii know!” Eddie responded, laughing. He pulled Steve into him so they could swing along to the music. “This was my whole master plan. Was gonna have them play this and tell you I loved you and it was going to be this whole beautiful moment but then Robin-”
“Eddie,” Steve interrupted, laughing. Eddie’s jaw dropped, and then he facepalmed.
“Oh my god I totally just said it without meaning to,” he said. “I’ve been holding out for WEEKS and -”
“You’ve loved me for weeks?” Steve asked, touched.
“Well, yeah,” Eddie replied. “Duh.” His eyes bugged out on that last word, his voice taking on a goofy, boyish cadence. Steve smiled.
“You’re so ridiculous,” he said, shaking his head. “And I love you too.”
“Yeah?” Eddie asked, grinning.
“Duh,” Steve replied, attempting to mimic Eddie’s response from before. “Robin didn’t ruin your big plan, by the way. That was all you.” Eddie chuckled.
“You still love me though,” he said. Steve nodded, and then they were kissing.
I’ll stop the world and melt with you.
Yeah. That song pretty much said it all.
Everything felt just right🌹

One of my favourite headcanons for Emmet is that he's the first follow rules but also the first to break them. Like one of his catchphrases is 'Follow the rules' but its in regards to his safety checks and he always struck me as someone who'd break stupid rules. He'd take a rule like 'no running in the halls' very seriously but wouldn't care for a 'no hugging' rule unless you could prove that hugging is actually dangerous.
(Also believe that both twins are quite hypocritical when it comes to rules and probably do break them quite regularly despite enforcing them but that's more for comedy reasons or just being too comfy with their jobs and it's silly things like trying to jump the subway turnstiles when leaving.)
Tumblr media
I think it's less that he's hypocritical by breaking the rules and more like slightly bending them or finding loopholes whenever it's necessary. An important skill while working facing the public tbh. But heck yeah, they be goofy as heck, beloved clowns.
Emmet is just the more physically impulsive, but I HC that Ingo is impulsive as well, just mentally instead of physically. Like in pokemon battles and earthquake for example pfpfpf. More visible when playing games or other things that require focus and thinking things very through.
That's why Emmet would be best at strategizing or would beat Ingo in mental/board games, yet would lose in video games (his hands would move the controller before his mind caught up, so F).
As for the 'no hugging', I actually think that would be respected. At least towards the person that requested it. They presented their boundaries and it's important not to cross them unless absolutely necessary (as in physically pulling them from danger by grabbing them, for example). So, let's say Ingo post eeby returns home and asks for no touching bc Pearl Clan. Emmet would respect that. It's just polite to extend the same courtesy to other people.

Slightly overly specific tropes I love:
Part 2 | Part 3
- The main character/characters having to deal with a kid. They'll either be crap or suprisingly good at parenting, and the kid will either be a universally adored sweetheart or a menace gremlin. Either way, *chefs kiss*
- To add to that, sometimes the kid adopts a terrifying animal. Also A+
- Everyone freaking out + one character just praying in the background
- A mom and her son who's at least a head taller than her
- Dark, tragic, sad brooding characters, but someone's like "Oh, you take yourself too seriously" and the brooding character proceeds to be roped into being happy against their will. They don't know if they like it or not
- Any romantic trope but make it platonic tbh (grumpy & sunshine, hate everyone but you, etc.)
- Two arrogant characters meeting and the absolute comedy of these people realizing the world doesn't revolve around them and them trying to one-up each other
- Villain in the middle of a big dramatic speech and one of the characters going "oh, shut up already" or otherwise not taking them seriously
