About this post !
I had started answering in a comment but decided to make it its own post
@ask-terracotta-jade I wish to be able to illustrate it in comic form as I have the dream typed down and I shared it with some friends who said I should try !
But yes here:
The scientist is named Rosemary and The Traveler is named Silver ( Both named by friends haha )
The title for the story is " Sharks Want Families Too ", Shortened as SWFT ( This title is maybe temporary I don't fully like it but I have no other ideas oh welp )
The Scientist is an Ichthyologist ( Zoologist specialising in the study of fish ) ! Her favourite fish are sharks ! :]
The Traveler don't smile showing her teeth often and has a lot more little secrets I really only want to share if I can do that comic 〒▽〒 I'm stubborn but also very unsure of my skills in comics oops
Oh and of course, they are roommates - in spirit and/or reality, both are true ;3c

Car/driving references in Taylor Swift songs are very important
in debut-1989 she's stuck in the passenger seat (of her relationships)
Picture to Burn: "i hate that stupid old pick-up truck you never let me drive"
Our Song: "riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car"
Mary's Song: "take me back to the creek beds we turned up, 2 a.m. riding in your truck."
Fearless: "drive slow til we run out of road, in this one-horse town, I wanna stay right here, in this passenger's seat."
Fifteen: "the very first date, and he's got a car and you're feeling like flying."
Back to December: "I watched you laughing from the passenger side."
All Too Well: "you almost ran the red cause you were looking over at me." (there is the part where he throws her the car keys but it's almost like giving her the car keys in a giving her permission to drive for a bit way)
Style: "midnight, you come and pick me up, no headlights"
Also Style: "he can't keep his wild eyes on the road"
Out of the Woods: "remember when you hit the brakes too soon?"
All You Had to do Was Stay: "all I know is that you drove us off the road."
Wildest Dreams: "he said, "let's get out of this town drive out of the city, away from the crowds""
You are in Love: "small talk, he drives"
This all changes in Reputation with Getaway Car:
The chorus starts with: "You were drivin' the getaway car We were flyin', but we'd never get far" where he's at the wheel but they don't get away
and "think about the place where you first met me, ridin' in a getaway car" where she's still riding in the passenger seat
then there's the line "We were jet-set, Bonnie and Clyde, until I switched to the other side, to the other side" which i used to think was her jumping into another car like the "opposing side" but it's not. It's about switching to the other side of the car and taking the wheel.
And before the final chorus, the last verse is:
"I'm in a getaway car I left you in a motel bar Put the money in a bag and I stole the keys That was the last time you ever saw me"
Where unlike before when they'd never get far, now that she's in control she can get away and escape.
There's less references in Lover-Midnights but they're still there and they're different than any references before:
I Think He Knows: "we can follow the sparks, I'll drive"
August: "remember when I pulled up and said 'get in the car,'" which is interesting because we as an audience know Augustine isn't in control, but she wants James to think she is
This Is Me Trying: "I had the shiniest wheels, now they're rusting" and "pulled the car off the road to the lookout" are also interesting because she's in control, as if to say the downward spiral the song is about it on her
and when James gets Betty back at the end of Betty he says "kissin' in my car again" as he is the "driver" of the relationship
Tis the Damn Season: "parked my car right between the Methodist and the school that used to be ours," is her putting power back into the hands of the town and her partner like when she references "messy as the mud on your truck tires"
Vigilante Shit: "she looks so pretty, drivin' in your Benz." about someones ex-wife taking power back for herself
Long story short: driving the car = power in Taylor Swift songs
