Toph: What were (points to Su) you thinking?! And what were (gestures a palm to Lin) you thinking? (puts her hand behind her back) You two have put me in an impossible position! Young Lin: You're mad at me? (turns to glare furiously at Su) She's the one who was running around with criminals! Young Su: This is all your fault! Young Lin: I was doing my job! Toph: Ugh, all right, enough! (The sisters cross their arms and Toph places a hand on her head) Here's what we're going to do. (gestures to her younger daughter) Su, you need to leave the city as soon as possible. (crosses her arms) Young Su: (leans forward with surprise) What? Where am I supposed to go? Toph: (gestures to Su again) You'll go stay with your grandparents. (extends her hand out towards her older daughter) Lin, give me the arrest report. (With the report in hand secured with a paper clip, Toph tears the document in half.) Young Lin: (shocked) Mom, what are you doing? You can't cover this up. There were witnesses. Toph: I'm the Chief of Police! I can't have a daughter in jail. Young Lin: So, once again, Su gets to do whatever she wants, and there are no consequences. Toph: (sighs with both hands on her head) This is our only option.

Friendly reminder that Toph blamed Lin as much as Suyin for Suyin getting arrested, because apparently Lin was supposed to sit back and let Suyin commit any crimes she wanted in front of her.

“Lin! Lin get me out of here! You idiot! I can’t move my arms!”

Lin heard the voice as if it was a great distance away. She coughed, and spat out a mouthful of dust and small stones as she came too.

Suyin?

“Lin! Get us out of here!”

Her sister’s voice was closer now. Lin opened her eyes to a blurry world soaked in pale yellow light.

“Wh-“ another cough.

“Lin we need to get out of here! They can’t find Korra!” Suyin insisted now.

Lin looked around and tried to move but was stopped by the metal she had wrapped around herself to keep from flying from the mecha arm as they were tossed across the city.

She took another dusty breath and was surprised by the effort it took her to undo the metal binds across herself and Suyin.

Once the pressure was off her chest a pain gripped her and she stumbled, but Suyin was already gone, running towards the new spirit portal in the center of town.

Lin leaned on the edge of the arm and looked at the portal in awe and shock. It was beautiful, bright and terrifying.

What force of power could have caused the fabric between the two worlds to rip apart in such a way to cause this?

She coughed again and growled as she tasted blood. The calls for Korra finally reached her and she made herself stand tall. The fight wasn’t over yet.

She pulled her armor tighter to herself to help ease the ache in her chest and ran to catch up with Suyin and the others. Calling for Korra and searching through the overgrown vines to find them.

Lin stepped behind larger debris to take a moment and cough on the blood rising in her throat. She wiped the blood from her mouth and gritted her teeth before calling for Korra again. That hardheaded avatar would be the death of her!

So I have been reading an amazing comic called "Winged Warriors" by @kabukiaku , and was inspired a great deal. It's a great mix of birds like Owls, falcons, eagles, and hawks in the imperial Chinese era and it is an amazing read so far!! The designs of the characters in the story are epic, and the storyline is engaging and keeps you invested in each character and I look forward to future chapters! And so I couldn't help but make a fan character of my own for it!

Based off the Brahminy Kite, here is Suyin! She is a pirate by blood, specializing in dual hook swords and part of her Father's crew. Their piracy is well known across the region, as they have a tendency to attack military ships and stealing the supplies, weaponry, and goods. Hope ya like and please if you have not, give @kabukiaku 's "Winged Warriors" story a read. You will not be disappointed!
