I finally finished the end of the last season of Teen Wolf this week, and I almost wish I didn’t because I think the Season 6A plot would’ve been a better ending

so stydia was never a thing til s6, were stiles is missing for the entire season, they have like almost no interactions, they force them together and try to paint their non existent connection as the strongest one and they have a ugly kiss to be endgame. it’s hilarious when you think about it. they didn’t have the time to be canon. they were just made endgame to end the show, and then you find out they broke up over a dream lmfaoo that’s so pathetic. if i were a stydia i would have kept that shit to myself at this point bc it’s embarrassing as fuck.

I'm, like, tearing up so freaking much, and I'm so upset, and so scared, and I hate all of this so much.

Everyone turning on each other is going to be the death of me.

Chris and Derek had such a good partnership going, and now Derek is attacking Chris and I don't like that at all.

I'm glad nothing happened to Danny, but I'm not particularly fond of Isaac and Ethan and Aiden all fighting each other, either.

The thing that sucks about all of this is that the Nogitsune is really just praying on the anger that these people already feel for each other and omitting any of the attempt at forgiveness or empathy that they've done up to this point and I hate that. It's just like when Dr. Ellicott takes over Sam's mind in the Asylum episode of Supernatural. Like, somewhere inside them, they mean the stuff they're saying, because the feelings and the emotions are real, but it's stuff that they've been burying or looking past in order to move on and forgive as much as they can given the circumstances.

Like, Isaac has never trusted the twins, and he clearly never forgave them for Erica and Boyd, as we can see in this episode. But he was willing to give them a second chance because they'd helped and they'd saved people's lives and Scott wanted to give them a second chance. But he never fully forgave them, and with that angry side of him being brought out, he's back to hating them again.

Same idea between Ethan and Aiden. They've always had contradicting opinions on the best way to handle things, and they've always had their little fights and scuffles about who to side with and how aggressive to be in varying situations. The Nogitsune brings that anger out, and they're ready to tear each other apart, and I HATE that.

And then there's Derek, who has such bad blood and history with the hunters, but was willing to put aside all of that and forgive them because he knows that Allison and Chris were never truly the bad ones, and they've since grown and learned and ultimately need each other to help fight the bigger evils out there. But remind him that Chris is tied to the people that murdered his entire family, and he's ready to rip out his throat again.

I just hate it so much.

And then there's everything with Void Stiles.

Once again, Dylan's acting is through the ROOF. I mean, that scene with Melissa?? Dude. He does those little movements so well, and even with not being able to move his body, he does and says so much with his facial expressions, and it's amazing to watch those switches from Void Stiles to Void Stiles pretending to be Real Stiles only to go RIGHT BACK to Void Stiles.

And god, Melissa trying so hard to take care of Stiles, and so hopeful for that split second, and then the anger on her face when she puts the duct tape back on, but there's also so much hurt and worry hidden behind it because she can only imagine how much Stiles is suffering and I just...

And then Scott and Lydia, so desperate to save him, willing to try anything, but so scared to hurt him. I mean, Scott as he's talking about turning him into a werewolf, and how he's worried he'll do it wrong and just wind up killing him. And then the fact that he's literally like "what if he doesn't even want it?" is just, like...GOD. And then Lydia desperately pointing out that it could be the thing that saves his life, and Scott with that defeated look because he knows she's right, but he doesn't know if it's the right call, and Deaton just keeps reminding them that they're running out of time, and Scott is just so scared and so worried and so desperate and HE JUST WANTS HIS BEST FRIEND BACK GOSH DARNAT!!

And then Lydia, in all of her smarts and own desperation, being the one that suggests Peter, and making whatever deal with him she had to make with him in order to save Stiles, because it's STILES, and she would do anything to save him. (Also, as an aside, I still f*cking love Peter, and as much as we will never fully trust him, because why would we, the "When are you people gonna start trusting me?" "I meant him." "Oh." was absolutely amazing and I loved it. XD)

God I feel like this little mind-scape adventure is gonna hurt so much and hit me so hard, but I really freaking hope it works, because if there's anybody that can pull Stiles back and bring him home, it's f*cking Scott and Lydia, because they love him so much, and they would never give up on him, and love conquers all gosh darnat.

Okay. Let me grab my tissues, and let's f*cking go.

She remembers how his eyes fluttered open when her small hand slid over his larger one. She remembers how he released the blanket he was clutching to grasp her palm.

She tells him about the drowsy but rather adoring way he gazed up at her when he sighed, “You came back.”

“You’re supposed to be sleeping,” she weakly reprimanded.

“Thought I told you... I sleep better when you’re with me.”

Not bothering to suppress a smile, she recalled, “You did say that, didn’t you?”

“Mmmwhat are you waiting for then? Get in.”

“Stiles, there’s hardly any sp—”

She remembers the droplets that leaked from his eyes when he appealed, “Please. We can share. I wanna... I wanna share everything with you, Lyds.”

I honestly believe we'll eventually get Buddie. At Fox I was 50/50, but now? I see it this way:

ABC picked the show up knowing about fan favorites - they have had to do their research obviously and Buddie love is pretty loud

They have seen what Chenford did (The Rookie). Chenford wasn't supposed to be together, but eventually, they saw the love the fans had for them and now they're a couple! The writers/ABC listened. And then So Many People (including me) became inspired to watch that show. What do you think would happen if Buddie goes canon?

ABC isn't shy when it comes to queer relationships and characters. FOX... well, I keep being surprised Lone Star is a FOX show because as far as I know, FOX has a certain reputation.

The actors know us. They know our love for Buddie. Oliver has faced backlash for liking fans' posts about Buddie. Have you seen the easy way they talk now? They KNOW that if we don't get hints at Buddie after all the teasing and snippets and hints, there will be a major backlash. I don't think Oliver and Ryan would be nearly as excited in interviews as they are if they knew it's gonna be against fan's wishes

About the previous point, ABC knows this too. I doubt they want that as the new network. It would not be a good look.

A queer couple of main characters often gets hyped up. I'm still of the opinion that Henren deserves that too (they deserve so much more hype and love and screentime in general). But 2 main characters get noticed more. (Sadly in this society people often ignore sapphic ships in general and focus more on gay ships)

The slowburn could go down in history and they are all well aware of that. When you think about older shows (because they don't really make long shows anymore) usually the most popular ships are slowburn. I remember the fandom blowing up when Stydia (Teen Wolf) got canon. I personally started watching Bones because I knew it had a good and torturous slowburn. I just finished Suits and oooffff the slowburn was good and well worth the wait

In conclusion: Buddie going canon would be great for viewership, fans engagement with the show, marketing/popularity, I'm guessing more viewers means more money so also on that point. They would immensely profit from it.

Also... what's stopping them? Fox worried about casual viewers. Mostly certain kinds of viewers with certain kinds of opinions (*ahem* homophobes *ahem*) ABC doesn't give a shit. ABC is LOUD. Station 19 just had an episode dedicated to pride. IT WAS FILLED WITH RAINBOWS. FIREFIGHTERS WERE WEARING RAINBOW LOGO SHIRTS. ABC doesn't give a shit about the haters. They showed the impact that the protests against it made. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY AGAINST THE HOMOPHOBES. They shed them in an obvious bad light. Fox would never.

The way ABC embraced 911. They would 100% go for it.

Do I think we'll get Buddie canon in this season? No. Definitely not with a season 8 renewal. However, I think there's a very high chance that we will get a more obvious hint.

Either Buck will confess his feelings for Eddie to someone (to Bobby or Maddie, could also Hen)

Maybe we'll just end with queer confirmation which I'll still see as a hint for future Buddie because it's a step forward and by now they are well aware it's what we want.

Maybe both have feelings realizations

Hell, maybe the season ends will a cliffhanger of a love confession

Would be hilarious if the season ends focused on Buck or Eddie and the last line is 'Shit, I think I'm in love with Buck/Eddie'

Whatever it is. I have hope. More hope than last season. And I have a gut feeling we don't have to worry so much.

So let's stop fighting about will they won't they. Focus on the journey. We're getting there. We're on our way. Lets all enjoy this together.

Because possible between now and another year, the waiting could be over. They'll be canon and things will truly shift. And fandoms change. Fanfics change. Some people lose interest the second a ship gets together (I won't).

so, i've been rewatching teen wolf bc apparently netflix hates us europeans and it will be removed on may 31st and here are a few of my opinions TM

scott is actually a very good main character. listen, i got into this fandom when i was older, so i probably don't understand why there is this trend of hating scott, but he's a valid MC! he shows an example of positive masculinity that is honestly so refreshing to see in modern media: he's kind, compassionate, always optimistic but not stupidly so, has an amazing relationship with his mum AND his friends, he's not afraid to show emotions and cry. honestly a very healthy, albeit traumatised, young man. yes, he did stupid stuff for the girl he liked, and yes he misjudged a few situations, but please, remind me, how old is he supposed to be? 16? 17? 18? yeah. i did worse things at his age.

scott and stiles come from working class families!!! they have money problems!! it's honestly so refreshing to see teenagers discuss money in a supernatural/fantasy tv show. it doesn't usually happens and I've found it refreshing because it's something that usually happen between irl teenagers.

i don't get sterek. really, really don't. maybe it's bc i've watched the show through a gen z lens (meaning the media and the culture (read: THE INTERNET) when i watched the show were influenced more by gen z than millennials' values) but i really don't get it. and the age difference makes me uncomfortable. (same thing with parrish and lydia, SHE'S A MINOR DUDE, there's a reason people don't like cops istg) SOMEONE EXPLAIN STEREK TO ME PLEASE

in fics stiles and scott's personalities are often swapped: stiles is the caring one, the pack mum, scott is the one with homicidal tendencies. like, my dudes, the fact that scott is a GOOD person through and through is the reason he's a true alpha. also the reason we, as viewers, like stiles is bc he's sarcastic and more morally ambiguous than scott (not really, but you get it, he cares more about himself and his immediate friends, the others can die, scott instead want to save everyone period), it's like taking away the thing that makes stiles stiles

malia and stiles were SO cute, i didn't expect to like them so much, but when they broke up my heart shattered

stydia is everything i want in a ship and i will not accept any criticism on it, it's literally one of the only straight ships i like. you have the slowburn, the malewife x girlboss trope, the he fell first but she fell harder, the mutual pining. it literally checks all of my boxes

isaac was such a cool character and he and scott had an amazing dynamic, like come on, they had something going on between them

kira is a badass. that's it, that's the comment. i like her so much

derek's development is one of the best. i couldn't stand him in season 1, but in s4 he became one of my favourite characters. but i think this has more to do with the fact that they aged him up? he was supposed to be in his early 20s in s1, but then they aged him up in s3? well, anyway, i liked how he literally wised up, stepping into the role of a teacher and guide instead of a leader, it suits him so much better (and i'm sure it's less stressful)

peter is such a charmingly evil bastard. i hate him, but i love him at the same time.

thiam is the best ship in the show, i don't care if it's canon or not. i've read airplanes, it's canon to me

we would've liked (simped for) s5 theo more if he had the same haircut he had in 6b. he was just stupidly hot.

allison and lydia should've kissed and so malia and kira. give me my wlw couples.

Compared to the stats I collected in 2023, the order of ships has not changed Stoyd and Stargent are no longer showing significant growth for their tier Steo continues to see a growth that's not typical for its tier and is on track to surpass Stalia Stydia's seeing smaller growth than its tier though it has a safe place in the top 5 While most ships saw at least a slight boost in numbers overall, Sterica lost 4 fics, something I also saw happen in 2021. I have no idea what it is about this ship in particular that causes it to suffer in a way that other ships don't Now that I'm also tracking "otp: true," I can say that, on average, half the fics posted use a singular ship tag. Sterek and Steter are above average for OTP tagging, with Stoyd also being significantly high. Stargent and Stora are below 40%. And then there's Stira, Sterica, Stalia, and Stiam that are all below 30%, with Stiam hitting the lowest at 20%
