College Life Begins Again
     It’s not even the first day of school yet, but I’m already finding the idea of taking care of myself as a student really draining. I struggle with high functioning depression and sometimes the little things like brushing your teeth, showering, and eating can really begin to feel like a task you have to do rather than just taking care of yourself. 
Maybe I’ll start listing things that I find help me with that in the future

How to Clear your Mind... Peace is a frame of mind, not a destination. Everyone wants peace - they will spend their whole life trying to find peace and calm, but finding it is so much easier than it seems. The goal isn't to stop thinking... its to train yourself to stop reacting. First you must train yourself to only focus on one thing. There are thousands of ways to learn focus. One of the more simple and gentle ways to train yourself is candle gazing. 🕯 All you need to do is sit in a quiet and dark room, light a candle and watch the flame. Try to measure your breath and watch the flame flicker and still with each breath. Don't breathe towards the fire, it will naturally mirror your breath once you find a rhythm. After some time, you might notice you aren't thinking of anything. That your soft gaze and watching the rise and fall of the fire is all that's on your mind. At this time, you have completed the practice. It always seems you should "buckle down," as my mom would say, and just get whatever is stressing you done, right? 🤬 From what I've learned from highly successful people (in person or from books) is that when something is stressing you out it means your not aligned with it. Kinda like a magnet that are the same ( - to a -, or + to a +) that resistance will never make the two go together. But when you take a step back and practice one of these elements it seems that you find the alignment that you need, to put a + with a - so they stick together and work in unity! Practice it when you find your stressing over something, pick one of these and see what happens!
