Here are my top favorite ships of Star Wars, from the least favorite to the top favorite:

Kylo Ren/Ben x Rey Skywalker/Palpatine

Why I like them:

Honestly, this isn’t my FAVORITE ship, since I’m not a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, nor am I a fan of bad boys x good girls. Also, the whole soulmate thing was a bit forced in last minute. HOWEVER, I like a lot of the fan art of this couple, as well as the what they could have had if things were different. I blame a lot of the fandom’s headcanons 😆 . I saw the potential in their back and forth banter in The Last Jedi, and enjoyed when Ben finally came to his senses and fought for the good side with Rey in Rise of Skywalker.

Jyn x Cassian

Why I like them:

Honestly, I thought it was hilarious that one of the reviews for the movie claimed that this was the best film with a female lead because there was ‘no romance between the heroine and the hero,” because when I watched it, the shipper in me thought “well, yeah, because they all died before anything could happen 😜”. This is another ship I saw with potential because how much Jyn and Cassian influenced each other for the better, despite their rocky start. They went from almost biting each other’s heads off, to reluctantly trusting each other, to having each other’s back, to finding comfort in each other as their time ran out.

Carth Onasi x Fem!Revan

Why I like this couple:

The first computer Star Wars game I played was Knights of the Old Republic, and thanks to that I went down a hole in the Star Wars Universe. Normally, I’m not a fan of Person A getting together with Person B who was partially responsible for the murder of your spouse and almost-murder-but-still-wound-up-messed-up-beyond-redemption-because-of-trauma child. However, the storytelling of KOTOR and the character arc that Carth undergoes via his interactions with Fem!Revan as well as her own development (based on the player’s choices) wonderfully portrays the power of redemption, earning trust, and forgiveness that it makes sense for this couple to end up together. This is why I pretend Carth’s cameo in KOTOR 2 didn’t happen, because the confirmation that Fem!Revan left to undo the harm she caused but was never able to reunite with Carth (who spends the rest of his life waiting for her and never knowing her eventual fate) is too sad.

Exile x Mical/The Disciple

Why I like them:

The choice was either the sweet nice guy with an English accent, or the Han Solo-Copy. No offense to Atton, but when I had to pick between him or Mical, I preferred Mical. He’s a gentleman, a scholar, and shows nothing but support for the Exile even though he didn’t have that great of an opinion on the Jedi at first.

Visas Marr x Male!Exile

Why I like them:

This couple admittedly has similar dynamics and even dialogue options as Fem!Exile x Mical, but with the splash of a more traumatic background for Visas and an even deeper understanding and connection. I like Visas as a character, as she is a sith only because she was basically tortured into being one, not because she’s a bad person. She loved the Exile from afar because of their similar situations of being broken away from the Force, and (if you play a kindhearted Exile) fell for him further because of his kindness. The Exile (again, should the player make the proper decisions) also doesn’t hold Visas’s past nor her connection to the main Sith Lord against her and treats her like how a normal person should be treated: with respect.

Rey x Poe Dameron

Why I like them:

Yes, they bicker a lot, but their first meetings in the films and the novels were really cute. Also, they’re both really talented pilots who get along great with machines, and with great taste in friends (Hi Finn!).

Han Solo x Leia Organa Skywalker

Why I like them:

The only slap-slap-kiss couple that has rights. THE Star Wars couple. Ne’er do well Rogue with a Hidden heart of Gold x Haughty Princess who loves her people and learns to loosen up? Only these two can pull it off so well.

Finn x Rey

I 👏🏻 LOVE 👏🏿 THESE 👏🏻 TWO 👏🏿!!!!

I loved them as soon as they appeared on screen together. Finn can be a coward, but he’s still such a sweetheart and a good guy who’ll keep doing whatever is right. Rey is prickly and hard of trusting, but when she becomes friends with someone it’s really adorable how she gets incredibly loyal and attached to them. While Poe befriended and gave Finn a reason to leave the First Order, Rey gave him the courage and confidence to fight them. While Han Solo gave Rey a paternal mentor figure who she looked up to, Finn was the one who respected her for her strength while helping her realize it was okay for her to open up and be vulnerable. That and their interactions are always adorable and heartwarming. Whatever ship you’re on or building, and whatever your opinions may be on the sequel trilogy, I think it is obvious that Finn and Rey’s relationship with each other was so necessary to each other throughout their entire stories.

For how long reylos and tlj stans used her to prop themselves up and hide their antiblackness I'm surprised no one's even mentioning her. They're also surprisingly silent about their "second favorite ship" Finnrose being ignored considering how much they - again, propped it up as though they really cared about either of them.

Under a cut since the answer mentions how parts of fandom have felt about TROS leaks. No specific spoilers though.

Basically R/ylos haven’t been happy with recent leaks for...reasons and have been harassing the leakers about it (because shooting the messenger makes total sense). MSW makes a joke about “horny 14 year olds” in reference to the R/ylos doing the harassing and the fandom collectively loses its shit. Cue crying about how “bullied” poor R/ylos are even though they constantly bring this shit on themselves by acting like assholes to literally everyone else.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not “Team Jason” by any means since he’s also a douche but the mutual meltdown has been amusing to watch.

I am so annoyed about Cloak and Dagger being Cancelled. I mean it was really picking up but then these idiots decide to cancel it before they have a chance? Like eww?

I am hoping Hulu picks it up bu with Feige taking control of Marvel TV it can go either way. But considering they still havent put Melinda May in MCU im not holding my breath.

imagine if the next luke skywalker was black

So I'm currently a filmmaking student, and have already established a few stories for a number of movies I'd like to make (already more planning than the ST right?). Basically if life went my way I'd make a standalone indie and then perhaps at least the first (and maybe second) installment of my own movie series.

But my main goal would lead to being able to write and direct my own star wars movie. If Episode X hasn't arrived by then, I'd do something REALLY risky.

Let's say Luke really was the last (good) Skywalker and Kylo remained a villain or died. I would make it so that the next Skywalker was a young black man named Luke, and his parents (whoever they end up being, but let's say Finn and Rey got together) decided to name him Luke to honor Luke Skywalker. 

And the name itself was used in more of a title than a sign of lineage. Like an honorary Skywalker of sorts. I could already imagine people freaking out at the trailer. Some good and some bad.

some idiot: "Oh look, another black lead. Here we go again with the-" "Who are you?"

"My name's Luke. Luke Skywalker."

If it helps, we on jcf are discussing how whenever Pablo is asked about Finn's FS, he keeps saying to wait till episode IX and quote "More stories about Finn." Try to remember that Pablo isn't afraid to debunk things like the Snoke=Plagueis rumor and the Jyn=Skymom rumor. Yet whenever someone asks about Finn he always says to wait. (1/2)

…Also, the way that John worded his answer about Finn wielding the lightsaber simply means that the people at LF haven’t told him whether or not Finn is FS or not, just that it wont be answered in TLJ (since Finn will be so busy infiltrating the FO and blowing up SSD). So yeah, it’s possible that since Finn duels the Executioner and cuts of Phasma’s arm, that in IX it’s revealed that the Force played a role in his journey in TLJ (2/3)

So yeah to recap, John isn’t saying that Finn’s not FS and neither is Pablo or RJ. Simply that the question won’t be answered entirely just yet because they haven’t decided how they’ll approach it. Otherwise Pablo would’ve just gone out and said Finn is not fs. But he keeps saying to wait and wait and wait and wait. So don’t worry. Finn will be a massive part of the story moving forward, and hes still a co-lead (confirmed.) LF just needs to get it together with the marketing, that’s all (imo)

tbh i was never convinced that fs finn/jedi finn was debunked by rian or lucasfilm or john. the past few days have just been frustrating b/c of rians comments that each film is in the hands of each director and theres no cohesiveness. it seems pretty irresponsible honestly but although it’s dimmed my excitement for tlj and episode 9 it hasn’t killed it. i do think finn is gonna be a jedi through the series but i dont want the responsibility to fall fully on the shoulders of the jurassic world sexist director. sw loves its secrets so im hoping we find out more about finns journey to becoming a jedi within tlj and that rian & john are just steering us a little off w/their comments.

When it comes to Star Wars -- any era, save for Legends because I don’t know all that much about it -- I ship:

Phaslo, Kylux, Phux (although this one is more platonic than romantic), Kyluxsma, Stormpilot, Gingerpilot, Phasma/”Pilot” (the female TIE pilot from the Captain Phasma comics), Stormscavenger (name I came up for Finn/Rey), Skysolo, Obikin, QuiObi, Han/Leia, Han/Lando, Leia/Holdo

I do not ship, and in many cases can’t stand:

Reylo, Reylo, and still more Reylo. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve had to filter the damn “reylo” tag on here to keep it from infecting my dash. It’s. Literally. Fucking. EVERYWHERE. And. I. Can’t. Stand. It.

Anakin/Padme, but I’m willing to give them a bit of a pass since without them doing the nasty, Luke and Leia wouldn’t be here...

And lastly, Finn/Rose. No. Just...no. I see what you tried to do there, Rian, you sneaky devil -- a black man and a white woman? Hell no. Minorities should be involved with other minorities, thus Finn/Rose was born. I literally cannot understand the purpose of this ship, especially since we’ve already seen (glaring) evidence that Finn and Rey definitely have feelings for each other...so why not just fucking roll with it instead of having Rose develop feelings for Finn seemingly out of fucking nowhere?

Another thing people keep forgetting is that Daisy and John's comments about Finn and Rey being friends or their initial connection being compared to brother and sister is always just in the context of TFA (like Daisy's answer) but their teased as something more - TV Spot where Finn has something to fight for showing Rey and his concern for her and John's comments about Finn and Rey basically being in a "long-distance relationship." And other sources like "his sense of love for Rey..." (1/2)

also don’t forget that they already canonically care about each other deeply, adore each other, fell for each other, and find each other very attractive :D But yeah, Daisy’s answer was in the context of TFA, and a Rey finding a sense of family. Finnrey is still definitely happening. You don’t add all that extra stuff AT ALL if you just want them to be like bro & sis. Plus, JJ totally ships them and doesn’t care about racist backlash like with Spock and Uhura casually being a couple (2/2)

I’m not confident enough to say Finnrey is DEFINITELY happening given that I think they’ve thrown some hints towards Finnrose too and I’ve seen Hollywood wuss out of black/white pairings despite obvious setup. But yeah, for the reasons you listed, I’m not doom and gloom on the ship. Or worried that Rey will be paired off with someone else (if we don’t get Finnrey, Rey will probably end the trilogy single, like Luke in the OT).
