Naruto fandom: a boy + a girl on the same team= they were in love/ love interests.
Kakashi and Rin? Headcanon
Sasuke and Sakura? Headcanon before Boruto.
Itachi and Izumi? She doesn’t even exist. Headcanon
Neji and Tenten? Headcanon.
Why are y’all so reticent to tell the truth. Canon is canon. No Itachi didn’t have a lover. No kakashi wasn’t in love with Rin, Obito was. Sasuke didn’t care romantically about Sakura, nor either girls in the whole manga. Neji? Probably cared about Tenten as much as he cared about Rock Lee.
Stop pretending shit.

gai is just as self-destructive as kakashi
Gai is so self-destructive it makes me mad. Then I get more pissed thinking about how he's always seen as a symbol of positivity and youth when he's also in a rush to die.
Let's talk about this scene.
Tumblr media
For the very early part in his life, he questions this spirit of youth that Dai often talks about. Then when he finally understands, he interprets it as a cause worth sacrificing for. Note how he equates self-sacrificing with honoring something he believes it, which is one of the earliest signs that show Gai seeing martyrdom as an act of love.
And then Dai opened the Eighth Gate, which only solidifies his belief.
Fast forward to the Chuunin exam in Konoha Crush. When Lee's faced with a dilemma (either risking death or giving up his ninja dream), Gai's solution is to promise that he will die with Lee if the surgery fails.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay...? Gai, I love you more than words can explain, but who the hell is this supposed to help? Sure, it can be a temporary solution to help your student feel less alone, but it's clearly not a healthy response. Gai talks about death lightly and clearly views him dying with Lee his devotion to the kid, but ultimately it doesn't help anyone but pain others around him. What about Neji, Tenten, Kakashi, and so many other people who cares about him (Gai)? Dying for someone is not a healthy love language, and especially not for someone whose jutsu literally tears him apart whenever he uses it.
Speaking of the gates, which Gai inherits from his father and treasures as a family heirloom, Gai has a very unhealthy attachment to them. He passes them on to Lee believing that they will help the boy achieve his dreams. And sure, that sounds like the most viable option for someone who's unable to use genjutsu and taijutsu. But what about Gai?
Gai is only shown to be unskilled with ninjutsu and genjutsu, but he's able to use them. He's able to summon Ningame and does so with ease.
Tumblr media
But he continues to use the Gates almost exclusively, even if their repercussions leave him in so much pain he cannot even withstand as much as a poke.
Tumblr media
And Gai is a hard worker. It's not like he can't train his ninjutsu and genjutsu to be better so he can use them in battle - he can if he must. But he insists on using the Gates as a stubborn proof to the world that his father was capable, even at the cost of Gai's own discomfort and almost his life.
Then Gai himself decides to open the Eighth gate.
Tumblr media
Who does he think of?
His father.
Gai must have seen it as a full-circle moment, happily going out the way his dad did. But this shouldn't be the case. He shouldn't have been living waiting for the day he can die "honorably". He shouldn't have been waiting to die at all. And yet, he hones his body for this exact moment when he quite literally lights himself on fire inside out in the name of martyrdom.
He clearly hasn't been coping very well with his father's death at all. Kakashi understands this, and for years he resents his friend for using such a destructive jutsu - their very brief yet no less serious argument during the Chuunin exam shows it all. And then Gai survives against all odds, but it doesn't take away the fact that he is a hypocrite for thinking Kakashi is unyouthful for years while jumping at a chance to die any minute he can.
Anyways I love Gai a lot.

In order of importance
ShinoHina: Endless pining, maybe a brief thing as kids. I'll probably talk more about this miserable pile of feelings in future
KibaShino: As something that happened and didn't work out. In the end they're too much like brothers and annoy each other to no end.
Dai-hachi-han Polycule: Dissolved.
NejiShino: This happened because of rp. We noticed they're almost always pictured standing/sitting near each other, then Neji dies and Shino never marries. Neji gets the fuck over himself and Shino opens up. Hurt/Comfort heavy. Savior complexes in both directions.
ShinoCho: Choji is kind, Shino doesn't judge. Cuddlefluffy. Ultimately failed because Shino can't keep up with the Akimichi Clan energy and it salts the 'forgotten' wound.
Shino x his hand because Road to Ninja implied his having a b¡g d¡ck is a personality trait. He isn't swinging it around so the only explanation is that Shino is a secret coomer (Sorry not sorry.) Embarrassing for Mr. Touch Starved, you poor frustrated bastard. Please stop staring at the Konan flyer.

saw someone on here (I can’t remember who) who glorified hatake sakumo’s suicide by theorizing he committed seppuku so kakashi could live a life out of his father’s shadow and without his actions on That Mission and subsequent disparagement by the village hanging over his son’s head.
I vehemently disagree with this sentiment.
first of all, seppuku, if anyone is unaware, is a ritualistic suicide where you disembowel yourself and slowly bleed to death. it was historically and most notably committed by japanese samurai as a form of atonement or punishment for disgraced warriors. it was also (and originally) used as a way to avoid being tortured or captured by enemies.
the post I referred to above stated their “headcanon” was that sakumo used this to atone for his sins. in return I ask, what sin did he commit exactly? yes, he was vilified by his comrades for choosing his teammates over the mission, but reading over his character and looking at his personality, I don’t think it is something he would have regretted. in the pain arc kakashi himself said he understood the sacrifice sakumo made for the sake of the village, referring to his mission, not his death.
up until his depression, sakumo was an extremely humble and straight-laced character, and under normal circumstances I think he wouldn’t have hesitated to do it again even if people shunned him for it. in fact, personally, I don’t think sakumo had anything to apologize for at all except the suicide itself, and that’s exactly what he did in the anime. it’s a widely accepted belief that he killed himself out of shame (but not as atonement; there is a clear difference).
but all of this isn’t even my main point. my main issue with that post is the fact that they used a cultural form of honor-suicide to paint sakumo out as some loving father who sacrificed himself for kakashi’s future, when in reality he probably didn’t even have kakashi in mind.
yes, sakumo loved kakashi, and it’s obvious in the way he treated him and how kakashi adored and idolized his father. but depression is a nasty thing. it can ruin your relationships and your integrity. it can change the way you think and the outlook you had on everything. it can make you feel like your entire life is broken beyond fixing. and it can rip your loved ones away from you without it actually doing anything to them. it makes you forget about them, it makes you have tunnel-vision, it makes you obsess over things that in turn hurt the ones that you love and love you.
I don’t think sakumo was thinking straight when he killed himself. he was already neck-deep in a depressive episode and was despised by most of his village, even those he risked his career to save. even if he somehow deluded himself into believing him dying would be beneficial to kakashi’s well-being, any sane person could tell you it wasn’t. kakashi himself could tell you it wasn’t. he would rather have his father alive and disliked by the village than dead in his home for his corpse to be discovered by his own son. what rubbed me the wrong way about that post is the fact that the tone of the whole thing painted sakumo’s suicide as justifiable in any way.
at the end of the day, I think you can theorize his motivations however you want. this post is also just an alternate opinion.
but even if sakumo thought he had kakashi’s best interest in mind, he was absolutely misguided, and if there’s one thing I dislike, it’s making his suicide out to be as some righteous sacrifice to give kakashi a better upbringing, because it definitely didn’t.

SNS is an awful pairing and I wish their fandom stopped pretending that Naruto genuinely cares about Sasuke.
He does care about him, but in an incredibly twisted way. The Sasuke Naruto cares about isn’t really Sasuke, but rather a projection on Naruto’s part. An idealization of him that he tried to force Sasuke into living through. Very soon Sasuke stopped caring about their “rivalry” (if you can even call it that, as it is rather one-sided on Naruto’s part; there are a few instances where Sasuke expresses this “envy” of Naruto’s progress- but it isn’t envy projected at Naruto, but is more like a feeling of disappointment with his own lack of progress at that point in the story). But Naruto persists with this idea of how Sasuke ought to be and how he should behave, and this slowly progresses from a seemingly misguided yet well intentioned need to save him, to a story of a young man trying to make his ideological opponent bow down to his ideology. Sasuke is not defined by Naruto, but the opposite isn’t true. Naruto without Sasuke doesn’t exist, he is Naruto’s ultimate affirmation, what he strives for. Ironically, Naruto somewhat sees Sasuke as an extension of himself, as his first and best friend- and what happens when an “extension of yourself” attacks every belief and doctrine you hold? When Sasuke leaves Leaf and eventually decides to destroy it, it is a direct attack on Naruto’s (already very flimsy) personhood. When Sasuke ideologically challenges him, that is a direct attack on Naruto and his identity. Naruto then tries to reaffirm himself with his fixation on Sasuke’s “salvation”, as his “salvation” would affirm Naruto as a hero - someone worthy.
Not a single thing Naruto does for Sasuke is selfless or genuine, it is always an attempt of Naruto defining himself through Sasuke. He never acts in Sasuke’s interest, from agreeing to hide the truth behind the Uchiha genocide, to trying to bring Sasuke back to a village where a man who wants Sasuke’s head is - Danzo. We learn this in the second arc of pt2, much before the revelation of the truth behind UCM. Sasuke returning to Konoha at that point might have meant his death, and Naruto learns this, but he is either too stupid to understand that , or he simply doesn’t care. Either way, it doesn’t really make a difference - Naruto is a danger to Sasuke either way.
Why would anyone see such an unequal relationship as romantic? In straight couples in romance media people are usually able to recognize these abusive, manipulative dynamics. People usually make a big fuss when shows romanticize straight relationships in which one partner lives through the other and tries to control them - but when it is two boys in a non-romance setting, these red flags seemingly don’t flash?
Sasuke is a character that every other character projects their desires, goals and aspirations onto. Everyone tries to use or manipulate him in some way. Naruto is no different. If most sns fans can recognize that Sakura’s intentions towards Sasuke have ulterior motives, why can they not come to the same conclusion with Naruto? Naruto is, in my humble opinion, worse than Sakura in that regard, as his incessant need to control Sasuke has greater consequences for Sasuke.

Okay so I've had this soulmark au thingy stuck in my head since my mind, running through multiple ideas at once like usual, accidentally crossed wires on "Shisui" and "soulmates"
Fair warning this is a bit long so uh,, sorry lmao
So! Au where the most of the shinobi population and a portion of the civilian population started developing what they called soulmarks because the higher entities got really tired of everyone killing everyone like idiots-
these soulmarks seem to form on your skin (Haven't decided what they look like) after you meet someone you can truly trust to have your back. Since soulmarks are about trust, loyalty, etc they have nothing to do with any romantic feelings (though they're probably romanticized in media). It is very common to have multiple soulmarks, and they aren't limited to just humans! Those with summons/animal companions they work with almost always get soulmarks to represent their animal partner(s) due to their extreme loyalty.
Soulmarks don't tend to form immediately after meeting but over time- though some get suspicious after a year markless. Sometimes people don't fit together as well as they think, sometimes they change and get along after time, sometimes one of them just can't bring themself to trust the other yet, etc. There's many reasons and cases of those who you think you should have a mark for not forming- while a clear reason is unknown, it quickly became a death/betrayal omen in the more superstitious shinobi communities.
Some extra info- Academy kids soulmarks with their classmates are often taken into consideration for team formations. If the person who's soulmark is in danger, it feels like pins and needles under your skin. If they feel extreme emotions, it either heats up or goes cold. Death causes soulmarks to darken and fade, but soulmarks only truly disappear when you can no longer trust them at all- often followed by betrayal. Soulmarks can be onesided- though more often in the case of one of them being very young (ex: siblings).
Now with all of that, some ideas-
• Kakashi's first soulmarks were his ninken
• Tenzo's first soulmark was Kakashi, i think it kind of freaked him out
• Shisui and Itachi formed soulmarks for each other as soon as they met, despite Itachi being so very young
• Shisui has soulmarks with his Yamanaka family despite refusing to realize he was practically adopted
• Shisui has soulmarks for his summons, which is a very big matter of pride for them
• Kakashi never formed soulmarks with his childhood team
• Gai has shed tears of joy, multiple times, for every soulmark he has
• Shisui and Kisame formed soulmarks for each other
• Kisame got a soulmark for Samehada and Shisui lost his mind when he found out because wtf
• at least one member of Squad Two has unknowingly formed a onesided soulmark with Naruto
• Genma has a habit of checking his soulmarks multiple times a day
• Raidou is fascinated by soulmarks and wants to study them
• Kagami never had a soulmark for Danzo, Sarutobi did and refuses to acknowledge what it means now it's gone
And now the one idea that started it all ✨
• Squad Two not having a soulmark for Shisui, possibly onesided where Shisui has theirs, until right before Danzo betrays him :)
Two main ways you could take this- Shisui somehow surviving the first attempt bc everyone who has his soulmark is pretty much alerted to that he's in danger
Or in hope au style, Shisui doesn't survive and wakes up in the past only for the others to get his soulmark and getting almost phantom sensations bc he's reacting to a danger that technically hasn't happened- maybe even his mark being unnaturally darker than it should be..
Also I'd just love to see how the others would react to having a soulmark from Shisui during his long mission bc it seems like it just kept getting worse for him LMAO
Do with this what you will, i just needed to write it down and get it out of my head so it would stop haunting me
Anyways I hope you're having a great day <3
Wowza!!! ✨✨✨
This is just a magnificent ask, I'm so impressed with the thought you've put into this AU! The delicious delicious platonic found family angst!!!!
What if 🥹 shisui had the squads soul marks the whole time 🥹 but they were between his shoulders (like wings) so he never saw them 🥹 and the burn just blended in with the pain of training, the buzzing chakra of Shunshin, the shame of sharingan eyes always watching him and finding him lacking 🥹 can you fucking imagine them begging to know why shisui didn't trust them with his problems and he breaks down and says they can't accuse him of that shit when he knows he gave them marks but they never gave him any back 😭 the angst, the gut wrenching whump.... This is such a good AU, anon!!!
SHISUI AND KISAME FORMING SOULMARKS AFTER LITERALLY A WEEK WORKING TOGETHER IM SO EMOTIONAL FOR THEM LMAO I CANT DECIDE IF IT'S BETTER THAT THEY DONT REALISE UNTIL AFTER THEY'VE SPLIT WAYS AND HAVE SEPERATE "OH SHIT" REACTIONS AND THEN SHUFFLE AROUND IT FOR AGES OR THEY GET THEM AS SOON AS THEY STAND UNITED AGAINST THE WORLD AND THEY SIMULTANEOUSLY FEEL THE SEAR OF THE MARK AND-!!! OOOOOH BOYYYYYY
Ino was born with Shisui's soulmark on her besides her parents'🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹❤️‍🔥
This is so beautiful and interesting, anon, thanks for sharing with us!!!! Have a great day, this was a lovely way to wrap up the week 🥰

Sasuke needs to stop neglecting his family or come up with a better excuse to do so
Sasuke leaving the village all of the time and not contacting his family for over a decade so that no one attacks his family to get to him is so stupid. At first glance it seems nice that he cares so much, but if you actually think about it, it just doesn’t hold up.
I can see how a letter getting intercepted could be a concern, but I feel like there are ways around it. You can seal the letter shut. You can make the letter coded. You can be purposefully vague. You can teleport it or yourself. You can send it with a shadow clone. You can just send a shadow clone to talk to your family.
If Sasuke is so paranoid of people finding out about his family that he refuses to contact them, why does Sakura and Sarada use the Uchiha name and symbol? Sasuke is known worldwide as the last Uchiha. I don’t think coming to the conclusion that the grown woman that looks nothing like an Uchiha and her daughter that does, who both use the Uchiha name and crest, being the wife and daughter of Sasuke is difficult. Shouldn’t they both be using the Haruno name and symbol?
Who is Sasuke so scared of anyway? He claims that his wife isn’t weak and he knows that Naruto's stuck in the village as Hokage, isn’t he confident they can protect themselves? Does he think Sakura would be neglectful of their daughter? Does he think Naruto would be neglectful of the village? Also, why is Sasuke, seemingly, under the impression that if Sakura and Sarada were attacked or kidnapped, he wouldn’t be able to deal with the situation? He is the second most powerful shinobi in history and he knows it. Maybe he’s worried about Otsutsuki, but Sarada was at least born and old enough to have memories with her father by the time Sasuke had any reason to believe Otsutsuki were a risk. Why wasn’t he at home before that?
I’d like to add that Sasuke also hasn’t been characterized as paranoid or even overprotective before this, so this decision is out of character not only for his sudden disinterest in his family, but also for him abandoning his family because of the risk of them being hurt. If this is all caused by the situation being different because of his feelings or whatever, then why doesn’t the Gaiden or Boruto manga make it clear? If you argue that Sasuke’s feelings are different, then you’re also saying that Kishimoto expects his audience to write his story for him.
If the risk of his family being hurt bothers him so much, why does he have a family to begin with? He never interacts with them, so it isn’t for emotional support provided by or to him. He’s never in Konoha, so it’s not so he has somewhere nice to return to. I doubt it’s for tax benefits. If it’s for his lineage, then why not donate sperm or be in an uncommitted relationship?
Even if this entire excuse made any sense, Sasuke would still be so shitty for abandoning his (potentially pregnant) wife and child in the village before having to be dragged back over a decade later. He comes across as so neglectful and Sakura comes across as having lost all of her self respect because she not only puts up with it, but she actively defends him. Is Sasuke even paying child support?
I don’t know if I’m angrier at Sasuke for leaving, SasuSaku fans for defending or even romanticizing this, or Kishimoto for writing this.

Thoughts and prayers for me because I just finished the Ichigo and Ulquiorra final fight part.
Here are a few thoughts because I HAVE TO:
1. This is practically the Pein vs Naruto sequence. Before his final gash, Ulquiorra explicitly states how Ichigo doesn't understand the meaning of despair. Heart is what makes the human weak because it doesn't let them act rationally (and so Ichigo should've withdrawn because he was weak. And Inoue should have been scared because she was weak).
Pein says the same thing about love, although words it a bit differently.
2. Aesthetically...I MEAN...It is insane how gorgeous the whole scene is. Crescent moon, and Ulquiorra's final form. He is beautiful. And I don't state that easily. He belongs to the high Greek tragedies, but is also a sheer symbol of rationalism and nihilism of our modern times.
Ul is beyond beautiful. Biblical. Loyal. Fallen creature.
I won't compare him to Satan because nobody is a better Lord of Pandemonium than Aizen (Chef's kiss) (I haven't finished Bleach yet but I think that's what Aizen is modelled after)
3. Heart of the matter: Ichigo and Inoue (hero and heroin with same one brain cell 😭) are people who believe in strong ethics of fair fighting and mercy.
And so Ichigo went: you can cut my arm and leg too! (Preposterous and hilarious, and not to mention extremely dumb)
Time and again, Ichigo has been told to let go of this hesistant moral side. But 👏he 👏simply 👏doesn't 👏
Now there is a way to look at it:
This "merciful" side is very unique to humans (so like 4 people in the show). Soul society does it, but not always. In most cases, they stop fighting when the opponent is weak as a sign of power.
But in Ichigo's case, it is never arrogance. He's not a soldier even if he tries to be. If Inoue will heal their enemies, Ichigo would cut himself up to make sure the fight is fair. It's the same idea: even though you're my enemy, you have a right to exist because hello, we're not barbaric.
BUT ALSO, ASIA'S BELOVED MIX: Self-sacrifice ✨
/Selflessness and Asian plots deserve a thesis and not a Tumblr post/
4. Conclusion:
I was stunned. The pauses. The disappearance. It was heartbreaking (well, literally for Ul). He's like Icarus. Flew too close to the sun (Inoue/heart) and couldn't take it.
I know that most people hate Orihime. It is understandable because Bleach is homage to Japanese art of war and royal military history, and Orihime can come across anachronistic. She's the only female character (so far) who is so relevant to the fight but cannot fight. However, as a character, she's a metaphor and not a fighter. She represents the sun/hope/heart. In terms of plot unity, I'm not sure if that's a great fit, because the message of hope/heart unlike Naruto is built up in a VERY scattered manner. Instead, fighting styles are valorized. So it's not an easy fit.
Having said that, I think it's a necessary fit. It's writer's safety barrier so that they may not go overboard with romanticization of fighting styles, which is essentially what makes Bleach.
Just fighting styles and aesthetics cannot make a plot, it would need a heart, sooner or later.

Hey, maddy! It’s been awhile, I’m currently writing this at midnight because while I was tinkering here and there and also simultaneously doing my assignments and projects, a sudden thought came into my mind. The causes of female character hate. The first thing that would come to ones mind will always be misogyny and sexism but as I was hanging out in Twitter, Facebook, and Tiktok, I’ve come to realize that the very thing that uplifted women all these years is now tearing itself bit by bit, feminism or to be precise, toxic feminism.
We’ve come to an age where people would scream “pro-choice!” “my body, my rules” but when women chase after a man, do the first move, or pursues the man they actually want instead of waiting for a damn old lady to transform into fairy godmother, they would criticize her for her choices, saying that she has either poor judgement or bad taste. Sakura chose to be with the guy she likes and she would never end up with him if she simply stood there. Doing the first move actually gets you the guy you like, not in every situation the guy you like actually likes you back, this isn’t some fantasy book.
They would want women to just sit still and look pretty but that’s what 90’s women did but that didn’t stop them from ending up with abusive husbands. They would tell you that being a housewife is not the problem, that it’s okay and not bad, they would tell you that it’s okay to be a housewife but deep inside even these women possess internal misogyny— that while it’s okay to be a housewife it’s still BETTER to have a job, carry the pants in the family, make your husband basically your slave and that it’s nice if he’s under you instead of striving for a healthy relationship where both partners are heard and stand on equal ground.
Seeing post here on Tumblr about Sasuke being jealous has started to irked me. People are now starting to romanticize jealousy as if your partner getting jealous is a good thing, people automatically equate jealousy to “I’m afraid of losing you” instead of “I’m insecure, I’m easily replaceable, I don’t know who I am and where I stand in your life”. If Sasuke is jealous that simply means that Sakura hasn’t reassured him enough and we both know she has. I know Sasuke isn’t the jealous type, anyone wouldn’t want their partner to be looked at as if they’re somewhat being undressed.
I’ve also come to have realize that the other reason why SasuSaku works so much is how Sakura is the type to always extend her hands to anyone, I remember how she would notice Naruto is sad or down (one in the Chunin Exam and one after the Pain Arc) how she tries to comfort him, cheer him up, and set asides her own feelings even though she needs the comfort herself. The thing is I like how Sakura can’t fully fathom someone (she can understand just not fully, she isn’t a robot who’s heartless after all) but she tries, she tries to understand him or them, not just to Naruto or Sasuke but to anyone because that’s just the kind of person she is, the kind of girl that Kakashi is so proud of. This is why I like SasuSaku because Sasuke has moments where he meets Sakura half-way, how he told her that he’s the only who could kill him (Itachi) there were times where he would try and reach out for her hand but would stop and take it back again and this is why I think their relationship works a lot because there’s Sakura who’s extending her hand, willing to help and then there’s Sasuke who tries to reach out to her hand half-way and I just love that. I like how Sakura is so independent and free in their relationship that I feel like Sakura could never get if she ended up with Naruto. Hear me out, Naruto thinks Sakura is strong, okay? He cares about Sakura a lot and believes in her but he would rather not risk it, he oftentimes worry about not being able to save someone, about someone important dying because of him or he failed to protect them and it seems to be the cause why he’s not that willing to risk Hinata or Sakura’s safety in battle or anyone for that matter, he would rather risk his own life that someone else’s.
While Sasuke does worry, he chooses to trust Sakura. I think that the Uchiha Family is heavily bounded by trust. How Sasuke trust Sakura and vice versa and how they trust Sarada and her capabilities. Despite there’s an obvious power imbalance between Sasuke and Sakura (strength wise) they stand in equal ground in there relationship and Sakura surely isn’t submissive, I actually find it comical how people say she listens to anything Sasuke says when Sakura this entire time hasn’t been following what Sasuke wants in the first place. Then they say she’s being forceful but she never demanded him to love her nor did he outright rejected her either. Not to mention, due to Naruto growing up alone he seemed to have grown accustomed to not relying on anyone else, he seems to prefer doing things alone or by himself because reading Shippuden made me see that there were numerous times Sakura wanted to help Naruto but Naruto never wants it, he doesn’t mind doing things all by himself, Naruto isn’t willing to meet Sakura half-way and accept her help which makes their relationship looks one-sided but it never was.
It’s been a while, I’m currently writing this at midnight
What a coincidence, I'm currently answering this at midnight :D
The first thing that would come to ones mind will always be misogyny and sexism but as I was hanging out in Twitter, Facebook, and Tiktok, I’ve come to realize that the very thing that uplifted women all these years is now tearing itself bit by bit, feminism or to be precise, toxic feminism.
I know what you mean, and that's partly the reason why a few years ago, I stopped identifying as a feminist, and instead chose to identify as an egalitarian. The toxic femininity was derailing what feminism at its core was supposed to represent. By no means was this the only reason for my switch, but it was becoming increasingly noticeable.
Yeah, it seems that a lot of them often have progressive values in some areas like employment, and traditional values in other areas like dating, which is annoying because it's very contradictory. It's like how they appear to have modern values because they insist they have good jobs and can take care of themselves financially, but then when it comes to dating they expect the man to pay on dates. Why?
Regarding the criticisms you mentioned, one of the most annoying ones for me has always been when women often call other women "desperate", just because she decided to make the first move or take some initiative in her relationship. You're literally just letting someone know that you're interested in them, where's the desperation in that? It's like some of these women think they're devaluing themselves when they make the first move, it's ridiculous.
Sakura chose to be with the guy she likes and she would never end up with him if she simply stood there. Doing the first move actually gets you the guy you like, not in every situation the guy you like actually likes you back, this isn’t some fantasy book.
Tumblr media
Some of them then like to fall back on that typical and lame excuse - "if he doesn't make a move, then he's probably just not that into you", as if that's the case in every possible scenario.
I actually kinda saw that happening with Hinata. I saw a lot of comments beginning with something along the lines of "it's obviously okay for Hinata to be a housewife, but...". To which they'd proceed to put her down in comparison to Sakura and Ino due to their professions. It was kinda transparent.
Definitely, someone could have all the faith and belief in the world that their partner wouldn't ever leave them, but that still doesn't mean that they'd be okay with someone making any gestures towards them which would overstep their boundaries.
Sasuke was definitely bothered by Jiji's actions, and who wouldn't be? He didn't want someone inappropriately touching his wife. But the way people are now using this to insinuate that he's the jealous type, and insecure, and possessive is just irritating.
If Sasuke was actually as jealous and insecure as some people are making him out to be, then quite frankly, I'd just feel bad for Sakura. For him to still feel this way after over a decade of marriage? After all the times that Sakura had made it clear how much she loves him? How much more would the girl need to do get it through to Sasuke that he is her one and only? That's not a positive look for their relationship, so I dunno why this thought is so appealing to them.
Yeah, which is part of the reason why I'm always so puzzled whenever antis like to hate on Sakura for apparently never even trying to understand Sasuke. They constantly say that all she ever cared about were his looks and never tried to actually know who he was, but it's just as you said - even when she didn't understand fully, she tried. During her first confession, Sakura was hurting because she wanted to know more about Sasuke, she wanted to understand him better, but Sasuke was closing himself off:
Tumblr media
This is why I think their relationship works a lot because there’s Sakura who’s extending her hand, willing to help and then there’s Sasuke who tries to reach out to her hand half-way and I just love that.
That's a very good analogy, it reminds me of the way in which they held hands in the Forest of Death, because it was a good representation of a recurring theme of their relationship - Sasuke suffering and being in a dark place, and Sakura being there and offering him love to illuminate his dark life.
I actually find it comical how people say she listens to anything Sasuke says when Sakura this entire time hasn’t been following what Sasuke wants in the first place. Then they say she’s being forceful but she never demanded him to love her nor did he outright rejected her either.
Exactly, Sakura and Naruto both went against Sasuke's wishes for the majority of the story. And yeah despite Sakura never demanding that Sasuke love her back, you get these extremists spouting how Sakura apparently "begged" Sasuke to love her, and I always just wonder where the fuck they get that from.
This is a tough one, because while Naruto has indeed shown that he often prefers to do things by himself and on his terms, such as the time he told he peers that he alone will fight Sasuke:
Tumblr media
The series also made it a point to highlight the fact that Naruto is, among other things, Ashura's reincarnation, which means that he inherited Ashura's philosophy which dictates that cooperation and relying on the help of those around you are what allows someone to attain strength and achieve your goals:
Tumblr media
So I dunno, I can see your point with Sakura though. It's just that when speaking in general terms, it becomes a little harder to make conclusive judgements about Naruto when it concerns this topic. Naruto is supposed to be all about accepting the help of others, but he's shown that he doesn't always do that. Well, that's only human.

I think a lot of people lose sight of the fact that at the beginning of Naruto Sakura is a 12-year-old (just like her teammates).
Her behavior towards boys and Sasuke in particular is very much on point for what actually happens to kids at that age (judging by my middle school years at least). It's okay for kids to be stupidly obvious and persistent when in love.
If she were an adult, her infatuation with Sasuke would have probably been short-lived. After all, reasonable adults stop pursuing relationships after being rejected.
But Sakura is a teenager experiencing her first love. She hasn't had the chance to learn from failed relationships and her standards are pretty low. So when Sasuke keeps ignoring and rejecting her it's easy for her to romanticize the situation anyway.
Even at the end of the series she's still only 17. And who on earth expects rational and level-headed choices from a 17-year-old?
As much as I wish Kishimoto would have given Sakura an arc of realising that she deserved more than what Sasuke had to offer her, there's a ton of real life examples of people proceeding to marry a person who's not all that interested but has a "why not" attitude. So I can't judge her for believing that Sasuke is going to make her happy.

Tinngun, Armyjoe, Palmnueng.... If we won't get Morkday dancing slowly to soft jazz in Day's room I'll burn Gmm building (I'll be satisfied with puentalay slow dancing at their wedding too <3)
PUENTALAY /AND/ MORKDAY SLOW DANCING SCENES OR WE NARUTO RUN INTO THE GMMTV HEADQUARTERS AND TAKE THE BUILDING BY STORM THEY CAN'T STOP ALL OF US (for legal reasons this is a joke) [.....kinda]
you've really read my mind with this, anon, because the SECOND i saw joe and army slow dancing in the warp effect i was like. well, okay, at first i was busy being happy for them because i do love them a lot too, BUT THEN!!!!!! my very next thought was THIS IS THE THIRD PAIRING THAT GETS A DANCE SCENE IN A GMMTV SHOW IF THEY DON’T GIVE ME ONE FOR PUENTALAY AND MORKDAY TOO I WILL RIOT
LIKE!!!! puentalay literally invented romanticism so they (AND WE) deserve to have a dance scene (preferably at their wedding but im fine with anything as long as we get it) where they touch foreheads and smile at each other and exchange i love yous and are so deeply intertwined and enthralled by each other that everything else just falls away and we're just sitting there witnessing the most intimate and beautiful thing in television history!!!!!!
and as for morkday, just thinking about day being very reluctant about dancing at first because he always believed it to be a strongly visually oriented art form but then learning that he can actually experience it through touch and mork being the one to help him realize that makes me want to RUN INTO THE WOODS AND HOWL AT THE MOON CONTINUOUSLY FOR A FORTNIGHT. and we always get dance scenes that are very focused on the eyes and the characters looking at each other, so i think it would be really nice to have one that takes other senses into account as well: mork leading day into the middle of the room by holding his hand and softly describing each movement to him (‘take a step back. now one to the left. one step forward, and one more to the right. let’s do it again. that’s it, you’re dancing’), day getting dizzy from how mork’s smell and voice are surrounding him completely and being hyper aware of mork’s hand holding his waist and then sliding to the small of his back to pull him closer…….
THERE’S LITERALLY SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR A DANCE SCENE FOR BOTH PAIRINGS GMMTV IM IN YOUR WALLS

Fic Ideas (Or WIPS I will probably never get back to): BNHA Version
I've got so many ideas and I honestly have them as WIPs in my Google Docs but I-
How can I continue working on them if I can't stop thinking about t h e m.
Villain/Vigilante BAMF!Inko (because I had a period in my life where motherhood was romanticized so heavily that I project my lack of ass-kicking capabilities onto her) -> Aizawa is her crime fighting nemesis -> Retires when she's preg with Mido -> Enters Mido in self-defense courses = confident and confrontational child -> UA!Arc for Mido -> Skip to Baku Rescue & Villain!Inko is at. the. scene! WOOP WOOP! -> UA Dorms, Aizawa & A/M meet her, Aizawa figures her out and they both wait for Mido & AM to have a "secret" talk outside and cOnFrOnTaTiOn WoOoO -> SHE DIES AT THE END (I have it written down... I just like my closure in my fics, and this one is wonderfully, depressing)
Soulmates AU! Where they are bound to hate, detest, absolutely loathe each other -> It's not a well-known fact but like everyone has just that person they cannot stand
Amnesiac!Inko -> Inko-centric, no one realizes something's wrong, especially since Midoriya is at UA and dealing with villainy (Post-UA Dorms), Meets villains & proceeds to dismantle the LOV through the power of god and anime on her side (+ and a little of friendships w/ a Custody Battle bc I stan Lawyer!Inko) [Crack-Fic]
(Is this fruity? Is admiring Midoriya Inko in a position of power fruity? [does it help that I admire Mirko? Am I gonna have a crisis about this? Of course not])
Uni Professor(Quirk Research)!Midoriya -> LOV is in a downlow, Shigaraki joins his class as Tenko -> months/years pass and blackmail's him to join LOV -> Oh no, look at that he doesn't want to kill heroes- BAM, have a nonconsensual quirk transfer that makes you ferally berserk (Naruto as pre-kurama w/ chakra poison cloak, feral fucker) -> Kills heroes, debuts as Jester (royal, entertainer to the big boys) -> LOV & Precepts alliance -> ERI- oh no, Mirio died- oh damn, Eri has OFA- huh
Eri!Timetravel Fic, Mido rescues her from Mid-OFA v AFO battle after AFO tries to go after her (I do not question the quirk capabilities nor limitations but Eri somehow does not disintegrate herself and ends up near Toddler!Mido (Infant Baku v Mido at the park scene) -> Lost and exchanges with Mama Mido to babysit Baby Mido for temporary housing until she can find an apartment, get a stable job & financial stability -> Tries to find Younger!Eri, does and oh look, Baby Eri is gonna delete her father- oop nope, Future!Eri stops it ("I recommend you get some help from Aizawa Shota, his quirk is erasure and under his supervision Eri could control her quirk") -> Somehow, she goes years without touching her Younger!Self so it ends with her patting her head kindly and just disappearing- INTO BABY ERI'S MEMORIES
This is bad, I did paragraphs but I need to get these on here so some poor wandering soul could adopt them and give them the life they deserve. Grow little ones, be one with society and flourish with your mistakes and ambitions. Take your potential and yell it out to the world, silent and echoing since all that should be loved by you is your own existence.

hey uno! question on whim but do you have any theory of why the hyuuga marks hizashi with the birth cage? i mean, hiashi and hizashi are twins and sons of the previous head, marking one of them to the lesser doesn't seem right?
thank you for the question!
quick tw below: mentions of child abuse, pedicide, prolicide, hyuuga slavery.
Tumblr media
in japanese culture and historically, it's relatively believed that having twins is abhorrent/evil because "a person is only supposed to give birth to only one child" and anything that goes against this is not the norm and therefore, ostracized.
either one of the twins is put up for adoption or historically, killed. or in the hyuuga clan's case, establishing one of them as "lesser" than the other. hizashi is also the younger of the twins, hence why he's considered as "lesser" than his older brother, hiashi.
sadly, as horrible as it sounds, that's really just the reason for it.
this is actually one of the reasons why i try to educate as much people about japan before they move there. in japan, anything that deviates from what is considered as "normal" is ostracized.

you don’t need trauma or some pity sob story to be a strong or “interesting” person.
not everything you do or like is a trauma response.
trauma and mental illness doesn’t add “spice” to your character.
