AN: Hey nonnie - sorry this took so long! I hope you all enjoy this fluff. I decided to go with the new/younger avengers for this, as I thought they'd find babysitting more of a handful.

“So, we’re going to Rezdôra, and we should be back by 11pm. He has his bath at 7.30pm, water temp should be 98.6 degrees, and don’t forget Ducky. Then he can have his bottle whilst one of you reads him some stories.”

Tony counted the points off on his fingers.

“Don’t forget to burp him, ensure his sleeping bag is properly fastened and then turn on his singing night light. If you’re lucky, he’ll drift off during the stories, but don’t worry if he doesn’t. He generally goes to sleep fairly quickly after. Oh, and…”

Peter walked up behind his husband, wrapping his arms around the older man’s waist.

“Tony, stop fretting. They’ll be fine. Ben will be fine. It’s only a few hours. And it’s not like it’s the first time we’ve left him.”

Tony turned in the embrace, raising an eyebrow as he regarded Peter.

“Yes, but the first time it was May who had him, and last time it was Clint and Laura. They know what they’re doing with babies.”

“Hey!” Yelena’s outraged cry had the two men turning. “I’m right here, you know. If you’re that worried that Kate, Joaquín and I can’t handle this, why did you ask us?”

Tony opened his mouth, but was stopped from speaking by Peter clapping his hand over his mouth.

“I don’t think you ought to answer that, honey. Come on. Let’s say goodbye to our Bubba and get going, or we’re going to be late, and I’ve been looking forward to this evening-out for months. Months, I tell you.”

Taking the lead, Peter pulled away from Tony and crossed to the playpen. Reaching down he heaved the wriggling and smiley little boy into his arms.

“Hey, Bubba. Dadda and Papa are going out for a while, but Auntie Yelena, Auntie Kate and Uncle Quín are gonna look after you and pop you to bed. You be a good boy, yes?”

Ben burbled and took hold of a handful of Peter’s curly hair and tugged on it.

What was Papa wearing? He should be getting his bath ready.

Peter winced, but smiled at his son and pressed kisses to the chubby neck in front of him, blowing raspberries and making Ben laugh. Tony crossed the floor, tutting, and plucked the boy out of his husband’s arms.

“Peter, don’t wind him up so close to bedtime. He’s supposed to be calm and winding down.”

He reclined the baby in his arms, running a finger tip down the small nose. With his caramel eyes, and messy chocolate locks, Ben really was the spitting image of his Papa.

“Dadda will see you later, Benny baby. Miss you already.”

Ben looked up at him, quizzically. Dadda was also dressed strangely. He didn’t like this…

Tony could feel the prickling of tears in his eyes as he looked down at his precious boy. Yelena walked over to him, and Tony reluctantly passed his baby over. He gave her a weak smile as she jiggled her precious armful.

“Don’t worry, Stark. We will take good care of this little one. We’ll see you in a few hours. Now, go. Scram.”

It took a further ten minutes for her, Kate and Joaquín to actually ‘shoo’ the couple out of the door, but finally Peter and Tony were gone. Ben watched with wide eyes.

This was different…

Kate sat down on the plush penthouse sofa with a sigh, next to Yelena, who was bouncing Ben on her knee.

“He’s so cute!” Kate leant forward and tickled the adorable little boy under his chin, causing him to giggle. Joaquín strode out from the bathroom, drying his hand on a towel.

“The bath water’s ready, and I’ve triple-checked the temperature.”

Kate stood, slapping her palms onto her jeans clad thighs.

“Right, let’s get on with it. There’s three of us and one of him. How hard could this be?

Ben babbled to himself. They had no idea…

At 11.15pm the elevator doors opened and Tony practically dashed out, followed by Peter, who had a wry smile on his face and was shaking his head in amusement. Tony stopped short in the main living area, expecting to see the three babysitters taking up residence on the sofas.

“Where on earth are they? I swear, if they’ve left him alone I’ll…..”

Peter took hold of Tony’s hand, uncurling the fist that had started to form.

“FRIDAY, where are our guests? I’d like to stop Tony from having an aneurysm.”

“They are all in Master Ben’s room, sirs.”

Tony hurried along the hall, Peter following leisurely along behind, his hands thrust in his pants pockets. However, as Tony rushed into his son’s room, he stopped short, taking in the chaotic scene in front of his eyes.

There was baby powder everywhere. Several clean, but screwed up diapers were strewn across the floor, in the vague vicinity of the nappy bin and three or four damp towels littered the path from the bathroom to the nursery. Ducky looked up from between the folds of one of them.

Ben giggled from his cot, beaming up at his parents, his chubby hands wrapped around his empty milk bottle. Peter bypassed his shocked husband, tip-toeing through the carnage, and lifted the boy from his cot.

“What did you do, mister? You broke the babysitters, didn’t you?”

A raspberry was the response from the little boy, but Peter thought he looked very pleased with himself.

He retreated from the room, Ben in his arms, and dragged Tony with him, quietly trying not to wake Kate, Yelena and Joaquín, who were dead to the world, surrounded by books and cuddly toys. Joaquín was crashed out in the nursing chair, a dirty burp cloth on his shoulder, and Yelena was leaning against the opposite wall, Kate draped over her legs.

Ben giggled again. His plan had worked perfectly - he’d won the battle against the ‘not Dadda and Papa’, and he got to sleep with them tonight.

i'll admit i don't understand something about the fan presence arkane has as a member thereof: the disparity in fanworks and cultural presence compared to their other releases. compared to prey, and deathloop (i'm not going to even bother with the other one), it puzzles me a whole lot.

dishonored is almost 11 years old as I'm writing this, and while dh2 is newer they're both a bit aged in terms of fandom lifetimes. this is not a criticism, to be clear — age and quality are not causative, and many of my favorite things are older than i am. that said, it's odd to me that it still gets regular art, fics, posts about it, etc when the stuff for prey and deathloop seem to have dried up (save a few intrepid souls persisting, some of whom i am lucky enough to be personal friends with, whose work i adore, y'all know who you are). to me, prey in particular has just as much to chew on, just as much impact, and just as much of... all the things that make arkane games special as dishonored does, and yet there's a marked difference in how much presence each has in the present in discussion and creative works. for deathloop it's even starker, though i suspect the more linear, pared-down world and experience in that game plays a role.

again this is not a condemnation or complaint, i love dishonored and i am very glad there seems to be a steady stream of people discovering and falling in love with it, or returning to it, or having never left it. it's nice that it keeps space in the mind like that, and it holds a place in my heart and has since i visited its display at PAX 12 prior to release. however with that said, it leaves me wondering: why don't its younger siblings, and why is the disparity so apparent? what is it about dishonored (and its fanbase) that differs so greatly in impact? i'm aware there's some overlap - i love DH, Prey, and DL all at once myself - but it's a real headscratcher regardless.

thoughts and comments welcome, perhaps someone sees what i've missed. ultimately i just wish they all got about as much continual love as dishonored does, not that dishonored got less.

Hiii!! Do you happen to have the pdf of a starker fic where Tony is an alpha who just moved to a neighborhood and he instantly falls in love with Peter so he kidnap him and locks him in his house. They have two kids (Morgan and Harley) and Bucky is the the police officer that finds him many years later. I think it even had two alternate endings. I read it but I think the author deleted it and I am just so desperate to read it again.

Also, could you give any other recommendations about fics like this??

In defence of Ron Weasley - or: why Weasley is our King!

I have noticed that in the last decade so-called Ron-bashing has almost become a sport in the Harry Potter fandom, or at least in certain corners of the fandom. And that makes me quite sad, because in my eyes it is unjustified and a product of circumstances that have nothing to do with the canon character. People depict Ron as a laughing stock, a truly incompetent wizard who is nothing but jealous and petty. Even in fanfics where Ron is an adult he rarely outgrows his teenage character. I believe this has to do with a few thing I will get into here.

First and foremost, we have to take a stance and decide if we believe that redemption is possible or not. If you think that once a fruit shows signs of rot it is better to throw out than to salvage it, stop reading here. If you think there are parts that can be saved and possibly restored, you are probably a Draco fan as well 😉 and you're welcome to read on.

So first of all, everything we see the characters do in the books they do as children and teenagers. Adolesence is a time of great changes, physically and psychologically. The prefrontal lobe of our brain still develops until our mid-twenties. It is a time to experiment and to make decisions, even if they are objectively the wrong ones, and to learn from that and to evolve into well-adjusted, open-minded and self-reflecting adults. So it isn’t even necessary to ‘redeem’ oneself for what you did growing up, it is just imperative to evolve. I have been working with teenagers my whole professional life and I am always amazed by what happens between the ages of 10 and 20/25.

So Ron is a child in the first books and an adolescent in the final parts and we actually see him grow and evolve. Not everyone is as perfect as Hermione and we sometimes forget that people can be flawed in small ways (not only in big ways such as ‘oops, I’ve taken the dark mark and commit war crimes’). I think people tend to hate on Ron because of this. He is so normal in his jealousy and his envy. We see a lot of ourselves in him and that is uncomfortable. We turn to fiction to experience the extraordinary in both good and bad, but we rarely want to see our very common shortcomings reflected in the characters. Because then we could just read self-help books and do something about it. But we don’t. We just want to escape reality and enter into worlds where everything is starker in contrast, emotions are deeper and stakes are higher.

And Ron is not such a character. He is a mild grey. He is not the hero, but he is also not the villain. Ambiguity and nuance have very little place in fantasy. But I think that is exactly what makes Ron such a great character and the books (despite JKR’s bigotism) so fascinating.

So what I see people do in fanfiction is to push his character to the extremes – mostly make him an antagonist. Interestingly, this usually occurs in in Dramione or Harmony fics. In Drarry fics or others where Hermione and Ron stay together, he usually gets to grow up into a reasonable and well-adjusted adult. And I get it. I love Hermione and I get what she sees in Ron (stability, a deep understanding, loyalty, common values, a wise mind that complements her academic one etc.). But in stories where we pair Hermione with other people we need to get Ron out of the way. Because we cannot, for the love of Merlin, make Hermione be the problematic one in the relationship (she is the queen of the books - she cannot be touched). So of course we have to make sure that Ron is the reason why their relationship fails. And to make their breakup believable, we antagonize Ron so that there is no chance for them to get back together. From a storytelling viewpoint this makes absolute sense. But it does not do Ron’s character justice. Canon Ron is a truly amazing character. The movies did him dirty and depicted him as the slightly stupid one with the punch lines and this has often clouded our image of him. Book Ron holds much more power in the trio's friendship. He is the one who introduces Hermione and Harry to all things in the Wizarding World. He is smart – even though he is not as zealous as Hermione, he is a good student and a brilliant wizard’s chess player. He is genuine, kind and loyal. I won’t reiterate all the smart things people have said about his character before. If you are interested you can check some good arguments here:

Everything he is and everything he goes through makes him a hero in his own way. He is the character with the biggest development and the biggest potential. He overcomes his own shortcomings again and again to stay by Harry's side. Especially in the last books he struggles, makes decisions he deeply regrets and faces his insecurities.

I could go on and on about this… but leave it at this for now. I hope this makes you see Ron in a better light! Fight me in the comments or sing along my praise of Ron!

tl;dr: Ron is a truly interesting character but the movies and fanon have skewed his image in a negative way.

Ugh just imagine Happy and Tony both trying to woo Peter. It starts off with your typical stuff, flirting, buying him flowers and chocolates. Then it leads to buying him clothes and gifts. A lot more expensive gifts

Then they’re like, “Well, who’s the better cuddler?”, so Peter is spending each night with them, alternating between nights. Then it’s, “Who’s the better kisser?”, and Peter *melts* when they kiss him for the first time

And all up until this point, Peter just can’t decide, he says they’re both great. So Tony and Happy take a step further. “Who’s the better fuck?”, and Peter’s like ???

Cut to the next night, they’re both fighting over who gets Peter first, and they obviously play rock paper scissors for it, as grown men do. Tony sulking next to Peter as Happy fucks him. Then it’s Tony’s turn, then they switch. And then they switch again and again

Happy and Tony both laying next to Peter, everyone’s out of breath, “Alright”, Happy breathes, “Who’s better?”, Tony asks

Peter caresses their face and says, “Both of you”, they just groan but begin kissing Peter. And then it also leads to them kissing each other and woah that’s so hot

Peter jerking of as he watches them kiss, then fucking each other

Yes, actually! And entirely out of spite! :D I used to be a hardcore Spideypool fan (I still am tbh just less core), and I once made a post about Spiderio that somehow drew Starker antis into my ask box?? Someone literally came to tell me how terrible it was and shame me for just mentioning it in my post, and before that moment I had had no interest AT ALL in Starker, it didn't do anything for me. But after that I made it my literal mission to post about it as much as possible, and now I'm more of a Starker fan than a Spideypool fan, so :D Thank that poor angry asshole for all my Starker fics ✨

13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character (Yoichi)?

He has the will and capacity to kill. He's a paragon of moral virtue but sometimes the moral thing to do is kill. BUT Yoichi also shares his brother's bloodlust, I believe this wholeheartedly. It just tends to be directly almost solely at his brother rather than the general populace :) He's in Izuku's ear like "Kill his ass, Ninth" and Izuku, full of similar bloodlust somewhere in between Yoichi's and AFO's, rabidly complies 🙏 He's just as insane as AFO just in a different way I believe this wholeheartedly.
