I was thinking about the joke people make about Speedwagon Foundation agents dying all the time, and started really thinking about it, and dangit they're all so incredibly brave.
At least in part 2 when they charged into battle against vampires, while still super dangerous, they had UV lights for protection.
But Stands, on the other hand... they are basically powerless. They can't see or touch the Stands, there is no way to fight against them unless you were really smart about it and caught the Users off guard, like Hayato did. Most of them don't have Stands, they know the Joestars' enemies have Stands they won't be able to fight against (and who even knows what those Stands can do, they could all be horribly killed or injured) and yet they keep helping them. They tracked down Dio's location and risked their lives by getting as close as they can to spy on him just to help the Joestars, and many have probably died for that, like the poor guy who spied on the 9 Glory Gods leaving Dio's manor.
They flew all the way to the desert to drop off a dog who might not even help them, and some extra cargo the Crusaders needed for the journey. They probably knew they could die before they even did. The Crusaders were basically at constant war. Enemy Stand Users could attack at any moment. They weren't idiots. And they still helped.
The Foundation ambulance was there once the battle was over, quick enough that Jotaro was able to bring Joseph back before he lost enough oxygen to be declared brain dead. That meant they came rushing into the battle not knowing if Jotaro won or not. If Dio had won, they'd probably be the next to die. But they were there. They were there for Joseph and Jotaro.
And they were the ones who helped with the process of reviving Joseph too, even though they were risking tampering with Dio's body. They might have died if Joseph was actually possessed and Jotaro could not protect them but they did it anyway, for the desperate boy who wanted to bring his grandpa back. And for the chance that it could actually happen.
That agent in part 4 was ready to throw hands with Akira when he was in the cabin. He could have run. He couldn't even see Red Hot Chilli Pepper, he could have died. But he kept trying to tell Okuyasu that Akira was the enemy Stand User and was going to kill Joseph. He was determined to keep Joseph safe.
They didn't get to do much in part 5 but that Arrow Hunt Jotaro and Polnareff went on... it was probably with the Foundation's aid too.
And you bet your ass they probably tried to forge a truce or alliance with Passione after Giorno took over.
I haven't had time to watch much of part 6 yet (I WILL SOON) but I know they helped a lot there too
Many of them probably don't personally know the Joestars. They didn't have to help them. But every single one of them do. Whether they do care for the family or they just want to keep the world safe and understand the Joestars are capable of fighting those battles, they risk their lives for all that. They're all normal humans plunged into Stand madness and they're all still ready to fight and be even the slightest bit useful. Every single one of them.
Very much like their own founder, who did the same for Jonathan Joestar so so long ago.

I made another Jojo fanfic! The story is called:
"Big Trouble in Little Malaysia"
Just as the Crusaders finally found some respite after dealing with two enemy Stand users in Singapore, they found themselves in another bind when their train to India suddenly had to make an emergency stop in Malaysia's capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
To make matters worse, another one of DIO's servants had followed them by train, only this time this particular Agent seems to have a bone to pick with Joseph Joestar and one of the surviving sailors from the SPW Foundation.
The following story takes place right after the "Yellow Temperance" arc and before the "Emperor and Hanged Man" arc and takes inspiration from the Greek legends of "Jason and Medea".

@caestusvulpes said: 👫 LETS FUCKING GOOOOO
Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship // accepting.
001. // Hikari gets periodic updates on how the basil plant is doing, because Hachi wants to make sure she knows that it is getting the utmost care following Hikari's advice. When the plant gets big enough Hachi starts bringing snacks/small meals for Hikari that use the basil as an ingredient and every time she's just like beaming with pride. Hikari did you notice there's basil in here did you notice how it tastes so fresh. :)
002. // Hachi bringing Hikari warm drinks and thermoses of soup in the colder months when she sees her working outside… Friendship is stored in the broth.
003. // Other agents at the SPW Foundation getting so used to seeing Hachi following at Hikari's heels in the Foundation building after Hikari starts helping her with her stand (and maybe also just helping her with self-defence in general?) to the point where if Hikari shows up alone people ask her where her little apprentice is. Frequently bought together do NOT separate them.
004. // Women spend raucous afternoon validating the fuck out of each other (real) (weekly occurrence). Like between Hikari's stated confidence in Hachi being able to do something even when Hachi herself has her doubts and Hachi's earnest and wholehearted reassurances whenever Hikari gets a little sheepish post-infodump that she likes hearing Hikari talk at length about the things she feels strongly about, that she always learns something from it even if she might not fully understand it all... Very important for both of them to hear these things methinks.

    nobody asked but here is the   official timeline   of kakyoin’s work with the speedwagon foundation .   mostly for my own reference ,   but it’s important to know where he’s at in each verse !!
Tumblr media
1989-91 :   BASIC TRAINING .   kakyoin balances going to university full - time with his initiation into spw .   this era includes his orientation   &   a very basic introduction to the mechanisms of the special operations department ,   specifically   stand research ,   since this is his specialty .
1991-93 :   FIELD TRAINING .   with his certifications for lab   &   desk work mostly complete ,   kakyoin begins conditioning to be a field researcher   &   special operations agent ,   choosing to complete the program offered in   south korea .   much of what he endures during this time is   classified ,   but the bulk of it sees him furthering his potential with his stand   &   completing a series of missions   (   solo ,   partner ,   &   group   )   to get a feel for what field work actually entails ,   &   how dangerous it can be .   with a starting class of 105 ,   only 45 students complete the two year program .   kakyoin graduates with the highest rank .
1993-99 :   FIELD RESEARCHER   /   SPECIAL OPS AGENT .   in light of completing all his training ,   kakyoin begins his field career .   he maintains a home base in korea for two years ,   returning to japan in 1995 .   during this era ,   he travels the world extensively for work ,   taking on assignments varying in severity   &   duration ,   but regardless ,   he is away from home for months at a time ,   causing his mother great distress .   in late spring of 1999 ,   he requests to go to morioh to aid in the upcoming investigation .
1999 :   THE MORIOH SAGA .   kakyoin wishes to stay in morioh long - term ,   but as he rises in rank at spw ,   his list of responsibilities grow   &   he is needed for other tasks .   eventually ,   he manages to convince the current department head to allow him to stay full - time ,   finally able to dedicate all of his energy into helping jotaro ,   josuke ,   &   the others uncover the stand - wielding culprit behind the gruesome attacks threatening the women of the town .   he is instrumental in uncovering the secret behind yoshikage kira’s stand ,   as well as unveiling his identity .
2000-02 :   HEAD OF STAND RESEARCH DEPARTMENT .   for his outstanding work in morioh ,   as well as his indispensable contributions to the special ops division during his career thus far ,   kakyoin is promoted to department head .   this sees him doing less field work ;   only set out for major assignments or to assist where things have gone awry in the field .   he spends most of his time overseeing and assigning missions   &   handling domestic affairs ,   such as stand users being held in custody .   he also becomes responsible for all of the foundation’s information on   dio ,   &   virtually anything relating to him as more information   &   remnants come to light .   in 2002 ,   he spends several months in italy following up with the new passione headed by dio’s son ,   giorno giovanna .   in light of their ensuing bond ,   passione   &   spw’s special ops division form an unlikely alliance that is   the first of its kind .
2002-09 :   DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL OPERATIONS .   following his forging a bond between an organization led by one of   the most powerful known stand users   (   not to mention passione’s existence as a crime organization   ━━━━   forming such a relationship had been   no easy feat   ) ,   kakyoin is promoted once again to a leadership role over the entire special operations department .   at thirty - one years old at the time of his acceptance of the position ,   he is the youngest person at speedwagon in such a powerful role .   his responsibilities have increased tenfold ,   however ,   with infinitely more to oversee   &   weigh in on .   with young child at home ,   kakyoin begins to yearn to spend more time with him   &   his husband ,   but he’s also worked incredibly hard to get to this position   &   is incredibly passionate about his work .   he manages to maintain something of a balance for seven years ,   before ultimately electing to step down from his role in favor of taking a civilian job as a professor .   though sad to see him go ,   his colleagues understand his ambition to put his family first ,   &   his affiliation with the organization is everlasting ,   as well as the respect he has earned   throughout his career .
2011 :   EMERGING FROM RETIREMENT .   with his family   &   life falling apart at the orchestration of dio’s   last remaining lapdog ,   kakyoin makes the choice to temporarily return to his role at spw in order to assist jolyne   &   the others ,   &   to keep watch over jotaro ,   staying by his side as he works from the shadows to supply jolyne with resources   &   support .   his connections also allow him to bring   giorno giovanna   &   josuke higashikata   into the fight to turn the tides to their favor ,   snuffing out what seems to be the last of dio’s ideology for good   &   returning to their normal lives .   for now .

~Aswan, Egypt~
After the Oingo Boingo brothers were defeated, the boys had just picked up Avdol from the Hospital and are ready to hit the road, Kakyoin had to stay until his eyes recover(with help from the SPW Foundation of course). Meanwhile Medea, a Agent of DIO who was taken in by the Crusaders to be their mole, was appearing strangely cheerful. Polnareff took notice and became curious.
Polnareff: Hey uh, Medea. Are you ok?
Medea: Yeah, what's up?
Polnareff: You're not upset with us over whatever happened to the brothers are you? You seem to be good friends with them.
Medea: *Pouting* Well I am a little irritated that they were defeated, *smiling* but I heard that their injuries weren't too serious and will recover shortly, so I'm glad they're ok.
Polnareff: Alright, but just so you know that we'll have to kick their asses if they try anything on us again.
Medea: That's fair. *Picks up a small cardboard box and follows Polnareff to the car, they sat in the backseat with Jotaro and Iggy. She took the middle seat while Polnareff took the window seat, she puts the box down*
Polnareff: *Sees it* What's that box for?
Medea: Oh just something for the road.
Polnareff: *Shrugs* Ok.
Joseph: *In the drivers seat looking at the map with Avdol* Alright, according to the map, we'll be able to reach Cairo just by following the Nile River.
Medea: *Still smiling* That's correct, Mr. Joestar. Just ask Avdol, he's a local there.
Avdol: She's right, historically speaking Egypt's capital has always been by the Nile river since ancient times. We'll get there faster by car, but we'll have to take a rest stop at Kom Ombo for food and gas.
Medea: Sounds like a good plan.
Avdol, Jotaro, and Polnareff: *Confused*
Joseph: *Also confused* .................Hey you're oddly cooperative this time around, Medea. *Smiles* Did we finally knock some sense into you?
Medea: Not really, I just have high faith that the other Glory gods would take care of you.
Joseph: *Smirks pridefully* Hmph, not if we have anything to say about that, Missy. *Gives the map back to Avdol* So far we took down three of them without even trying, *Starts the car* we're on a roll!
Medea: You wish.
Jotaro: *Looking at Medea suspiciously* ..........
Joseph: *Drives away from the hospital*
Polnareff: *Smells the air* Did Iggy fart again?
~On the highway to Luxor~
Medea is still smiling ear to ear, which was freaking out Jotaro. Meanwhile, Iggy who was resting on Jotaro's lap decided to get up and walk on people's feet.
Jotaro: Oi, what are ya doing, Iggy?
Polnareff: *Irritated* You better NOT be pissing in the car, ya shitty mutt.
Iggy: *Sticks tongue at Polnareff and continues to wonder around*
Polnareff: *Offended* OH!
Avdol: At least he ain't farting on our faces.
Iggy: *Wondering around when he sees the box Medea brought over by her feet* ????
Joseph: *Stops car* What the?
Avdol: Huh? A traffic jam?
Joseph: Oh come on! *Honks car*
Jotaro: *Looks over* Hold on, there's a checkpoint over there.
Joseph: *Looks over to* Why would there be a checkpoint on a highway?
Avdol: *Remembers something* Oh that's right, there's been reports about a drug bust that occurred in one of the apartments in Luxor a few days ago, so now they're checking everyone's vehicles to make sure no ones bringing in more drugs there.
Medea: *Still smiling, but this time she looks like she's about to snicker but is holding it in*
Polnareff: Oh I get it, they're nipping the problem by the bud, right?
Avdol: That's right.
Iggy: *Smelling the box, suddenly, he started acting weird* O_O
Jospeh: Well it's a good thing we don't have drugs on us then... wait are Jotaro's cigarettes illegal?
Avdol: No, they're legal. But it is illegal if you're under 18.
Joseph: *To Jotaro* You heard the man, you better keep your cigarettes put away.
Jotaro: Good grief -_-'''
Iggy: *Starts laughing* Hehehehehehehehehehehehe....
Jotaro: Hm? What's with him?
Polnareff: What are you laughing at, Iggy?
Medea: *Her smiling started to contort into a snicker*
Avdol: *Turns around to see* Strange, I never seen him laugh like that before. *Picks him up* Iggy, what's wrong?
Iggy: Hehehehehehehehehehehehe....
Joseph: *Checks him and sees that his eyes are dilated and bloodshot* Oh my god! Iggy's stoned!
Avdol, Jotaro, and Polnareff: !?!?!?!?!?!?
Medea: *Snickering*
Avdol: Stoned!? You mean he's been exposed to Marijuana!?
Joseph: Yeah, *points at Iggy* look at his eyes!
Polnareff: How is that possible!? There's no Marijuana in the car!..........*Looks at the box* Unless....*Looks at Medea with horror on his face* Medea, what's in the box?
Medea: *About to lose it* Nothing~
Jotaro: *Angry* Oh my god, you didn't! *Takes the box and opens it, there was lots of baggies filled with Marijuana* I FUCKING KNEW IT!
Joseph: *Sees it* YOU PLANTED DRUGS ON US!?
Medea: *Loses it* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
Avdol: *Horrified* Oh no!
Jotaro: *Grabs Medea by the hood* You bitch! You knew about the drug bust and tried to get us arrested, didn't you!? *About to use [Star Platnium]*
Medea: Try and punch me, Jojo, but just so you know that we're by the checkpoint where the police are, and there's cars full of witnesses in front of us and behind us.
Jotaro: *Stops himself* Dammit.
Polnareff: *Devastated* I can't believe you would do this to us! Where did you even get all those drugs?
Medea: While you gobshites were picking up Avdol, there was a drug dealer nearby, and since it's illegal to have weed in Egypt well.... I got a little creative*
Avdol: You do realize that you're gonna get yourself arrested to, right?
Medea: I know, but it would be worth it because I finally stopped you asswipes!
Joseph: You little shit.......Hmmmm...
~A few minutes later, at the checkpoint~
Policeman: *Checking the inside of the car and sees everyone present, their faces are soaking wet, Medea seems to be squirming in her seat, Iggy has calmed down and is resting on Avdol's lap, and the box is missing* ............... *Steps back* (Arabic: Alright, you're clean, but you outta do something about your air conditioning in the car, it's hot in there.)
Avdol: (Arabic: Sorry about that, it broke sometime ago, we do have some water bottles to compensate though.)
Policeman: (Arabic: Alright, you people have a nice trip.)
Avdol: (Arabic: Thank you so much, sir.)
Joseph: *Drives away fast* .................. *Makes sure the coast is clear* Alright, we're good!
Polnareff: *Uses [Silver Chariot] to open up the car seat and pull out the box of drugs, he gives it to Jotaro*
Jotaro: *Summons [Star Platinum]* Get rid of it.
[Star Platinum]: ORA! *Throws it outside the car so hard that no one can see it fly, it was also so hard that it went as far as the other side of the Nile river, leaving it out for the buzzards to pick at*
Joseph: Awesome! *To Avdol* Nice save with the air conditioning excuse, Avdol.
Avdol: *Waving his finger that is on fire to hide the smell of Weed* It's easy to hide [Magician's Red] that way. *Looks down at the sleeping Iggy* I'm also glad Iggy sobered up on time to.
Iggy: *Conked out* Zzzzzzzzzzz....
Jotaro: *Drinks water from a water bottle* Ahhh~ *offers it to Polnareff* Water?
Polnareff: *Takes it* Merci. *Drinks it*
Medea: *Struggling* Mmmm! Mmmm! *Revealed to be wrapped up head to toe in [Hermit Purple], which is only visible to Stand users* Mmmm!
Polnareff: *Turning away from Medea, pouting and mad at her* Don't think you're getting out of this, Mademoiselle, you owe us and apology for doing us dirty like that.
Medea: Mmmmm!
Jotaro: Can't hear you. *Moves a vine from her mouth*
Medea: FAT CHANCE, YOU DOUCHEBAGS!
Jotaro: *Covers her mouth again* I outta bury this bitch in the desert sand.
Joseph: Please do. *Drives past a sign that reads "Kom Ombo - 30 miles"*
- Medea tries framing the Crusaders for possessing drugs
*In real life: while it is true that having weed in Egypt is illegal, it is not as heavily enforced as Medea made it out to be as people still consume it, as well as law enforcement being lax with it, you're just not allowed to do it out in the open.
*This is actually loosely inspired by a Stand-Up Comedy bit: "Road Trip" by Gabriel Iglesias

It's around ten in the morning when the weight of something small wakes Giorno up. The first thing that comes into sight are his sons' faces. Both toddlers squeak and laugh upon the sight of him awake, climbing off him and scurrying to the other side of the bed between giggles and rushed words.
“Hey,” he mumbles, sitting up with a soft grin, strands of messy hair sticking to his forehead. “You wanna play, boys?”
Jovi shakes his head, grinning as he climbs off bed with a little bit of help from his twin who remains sitting by his side. “Come!” Dante screams, following Jovi into climbing off bed, this time with the latter's help.
Reaching a hand out to make sure the boy doesn't fall off, Giorno sits by the edge of the bed, fixing his shirt and trying to comb his hair, already noticing the absence of Lena in the room. “Where's mommy, boys?”
The twins grin, exchanging looks and, before he has the chance to repeat his question both turn around and run to the door, stopping aside through little giggles and jumps. “Come, come!”
“Okay, okay!” Imitating their cheerful tone he stands up, slicking back his hair on the way to the door and, turning the doorknob, he watches with a wide grin as they run out and into the hall, stopping again by the stairs, looking down and then stepping back, having been told to be careful around stairs and to wait for any of them —him, Lena or anyone of their uncles and aunts— to help them out.
“Come here, Dan, Jojo.” Kneeling to their level, Gio offers one arm to each, waiting until both stand by his sides to lift them up in one arm, effectively carrying both. As he walks downstairs, the music coming from the kitchen already tells him what's going on.
Coming into the kitchen, he stops by the door, grinning as warmth spreads through his chest —there, his team and friends sit having breakfast. Even Ari, Rohan and Ellie are there.
“Well, good morning.” he greets when everyone turns to look at him, kneeling again to let the boys down. Both run up to Lena, who's standing beside Giuseppe —from the look on the chef's face, Giorno could only think she was asking for something foreign to him.
Tugging at her skirt, Dan and Jojo grin, pointing at him. “Mommy! Daddy's here!”
Lena looks back and both boys laugh, already waiting for the usual good morning peck they've always seen.
Walking up to her, Gio takes his time greeting everyone with short pats to their backs and waves —by the time he's before her, he leans in and pecks her forehead earning laughter and cheers from the twins and the soft chuckles from those around them.
Pulling back, his hand instinctively reaches out to the bump, leaving a little caress before he pulls back with a: “Gotta brush my teeth, be right back.”
“Hurry, Ari and I made breakfast!”
***
Leaving the mansion after such a sweet scene feels strange. Even the ride there feels strange —Westwood's nervous looks through the mirror and Lena's silence makes his stomach turn in anxiety.
But it had to be done.

SPW Naples branch. Containment Unit Office. 2:11 PM.
It's been months since Chrono had been inside of the glass box the Foundation had locked it in.
Now, the prophet lays there, mouth still sealed —the red eyes that open above its closed lips roam around the office, noticing it has been translated from its UV chambers to an office that resembles one of a CEO: white walls and a simple desk where its glass box resides beside the laptop. From the shadows by the door, it knows there must be up to three or four SPW agents trying so hard to guard it in case anything happens.
Ridiculous.
The door opens and Chrono closes its eyes, choosing to use them later for a special surprise.
There are many things they don't know yet. Future included.
The woman that comes in sight is exactly who it knew would come sooner or later —the man trailing behind her is not a surprise, though it means her reaction has overstepped its suppositions.
Helena Giovanna and of course, her husband, Giorno Giovanna.
Chrono's ears pick on the way he's so silent, probably busy quietly watching over his wife — the prophet's aware Giorno knows Helena like the palm of his hand: knows her wrath is silent and calm, pure terror to those not familiar with. It's almost funny how he's made it his mission to not cause her rage and if someone else did, to help in the quest to destroy her enemies. Possibly under the 'the enemy of my wife is my enemy' logic.
Perhaps Giorno didn't expect things to happen this way —not when his wife's pregnant, tired and not when they have just made it out with the twins' stand fever— but all those things are the ones that make things interesting enough for the fake god.
Its senses pick up on her footsteps and the fact she's quiet and careful as she takes the chair before the desk, rolling it back slowly and, when the sound stops, sitting and getting comfortable with the bump. Only there her eyes fall on Chrono, who can feel her stare. Judging from its visions, it already knows the usual brown tone of her eyes has been replaced with pitch black and anger.
The next events go on just like it knew it would: standing by her side, Giorno's warm palm runs over her shoulders, trying to help her calm down. Then, his free hand reaches out to take out the nails keeping its mouth sealed, leaving his hand resting on her shoulder in the form of a calming presence.
The clicking sound of the nails meeting the wood resounds through the office and soon, Chrono licks and smacks its lips like a hungry newborn would, except for the fact this is just a habit.
Running its gray tongue over its cracked yellow lips, Chrono speaks up. “My, my. Look who's here: the Matriarch of Souls,” its eyes finally pop open and under Passione's bosses surprised glances, those vermillion-colored eyes look down at the bump, “and the Matriarch of Shadows.”
In a blur a hand reaches out, catches Chrono's tongue and a golden hand pops up, taking the pen aside.
Pain pierces through Chrono's tongue as the pen pierces through its flesh and pins the appendage to the table underneath, splashing green liquid around the desk, the floor and on Giorno's shirt and hand.
Before it can produce any other sound, Giorno's already there, using his free hand to keep it from doing anything by pressing down, squishing it against the table without a care of how much strength he's using or the table underneath.
The Don's voice drops a few octaves as he leans over his wife's shoulder to whisper right into the creature's face, green eyes darker like he's turned back into the merciless mafia boss Chrono saw around thirteen years ago. “Watch your mouth or I'll get that eye out with my own fingers.”
Pulling back, and making sure Lena's okay, Giorno retrieves the pen, pressing down and then forward as he does so in order to inflict more damage —the wicked dark grin that crosses his features for a second catches the prophet off guard— without batting an eye when the green liquid splashes his shirt. When he pulls back, Chrono's eyes widen, realizing he did not allow a single drop of blood to fall on his wife's clothes, listening to his final warning:
“Let her talk.”
Taking a deep breath in and leaning back against the chair, Lena speaks up, tone neutral. “Now I can tell that you've never been true to me.”
Her words reach its ears and stroke its ego: the chilling sound that comes out of Chrono's throat makes them freeze in their place —its laughter holds something none of them can name nor have ever heard of before, something new and unwelcome.
It's a fight or flight instinct: one both ignore as Chrono replies with a wide grin, sharp teeth and green liquid that keeps bleeding underneath. “Don't use such strong words —it makes your weakness all the more apparent. Why would you trust me, did you forget how I got here?”
Lena frowns, reminiscing the root of the problem, “I separated you from Matteo because you’re basically a parasite to anyone you decide to possess.”
“You took me out, yeah!” Chrono grins, red eyes trailing between the couple as the green liquid stops bleeding out and instead lays there already coagulated. “Just because you separated us doesn't mean I'm not your enemy still: and before you say anything, I was playing along with this game of mistress and pet.”
In a second, Lena's expression changes —from confusion to calm, the kind that would make anyone freeze and stutter: but not Chrono, who doesn't care about fearing humans.
“I figured you'd say that.” she says, eyes closed and lips curling up into a small smile. Right there, a red haze surrounds her and the rustling of chains emerging from the ground makes Giorno step back, hands behind his back as he watches the scene unfold before him, eyes dull of emotions, hardened with cruelty and rage.
Reaching a hand out, Lena finally looks at Chrono as a chain wraps around her arm and Wire Requiem leans forward, meeting its eyes. “Then, there's nothing else to do with you. Since you can see the future,” taking it out of its box, she holds the yellow, rectangle shaped prophet in her hand, raising it above her head, “Then I don't have to say it.”
A scream resounds through: futile and deafening, echoing through the now empty space they stand in. There, Chrono looks down, sensing something different, feeling something familiar, like an old sensation coming back.
He's residing in his own body. The one he's always been in before possessing someone.
Looking back, the Donna stands before him but what makes him step back is Wire, who looms behind her. In this dimension, the soul reign which he's only heard rumors of, Chrono knows there's nothing he can do: to start off, if he's back on his body that only means she—
“Hey, the soul or the body, Chrono?" Wire starts and the dimension around them lights up in red, like a fire and he's the moth about to dive in. “—which do you think came first?”
Stepping back, Chrono gasps when he's unable to move more: looking down, dozens of hands have emerged from the ground to hold him in place, tugging at his robes and limbs until he gives in, kneeling before Wire and Helena, bent downward and forward, almost drowning him into the red waters underneath. There, Lena speaks up again: “Answer.”
Pondering his reply, Chrono's reply comes in a whisper —unable to see the future, like his abilities have been canceled or taken out of his grasp. “The soul,” he says, “The soul should exist before the body.”
Looking back at Wire, Lena's eyebrow quirks up as the stand moves forward to face Chrono, who's still held down.
“Wrong,” the Matriarch of Souls says, coming to stand before the prophet and, as she curls a finger over itself his face twists up to meet her glance, the coral lightning in the apparent infinite and unlimited soul dimension reflecting off the side of her face. “The body is the soul and the soul is the body.”
With a snarl Chrono trashes against the hands keeping him down, sharp teeth flaring pink under the lightning and red eyes a brighter and wild tone, “You, woman!” staring straight into Lena's eyes, Chrono ignores Wire as he screams. “You want to understand humanity so badly, yet you're still human! You will never know the truth—”
“Don't use such strong words.” Lena quotes, hands behind her back and a calm, chilling smile lifting the corner of her lip, “It makes your weakness all the more apparent.” her smile disappears as she keeps going, “You must know where you are, don't you? This place,” she looks around and the lighting around them makes her eyes look golden. “Here, your powers don't matter: a stand's core is the soul and since this is the soul's reign, anything I don't wish to see will not be available. You claim to be a god, but right now, right here, I alone am a goddess.”
Looking down, Chrono's teeth break through the skin of his lips and as he looks back he makes sure to keep some sanguine fluid pooling at its tongue so the moment he faces her again, the brute force of his tongue moving when he yells splashes her clothes, “Insolent little human, thinking you can fight and compare to a god like me!
She blinks slowly, definitely ignoring the blood stains in her dress —and instead, the calm tone she uses makes him groan, fed up: “You are not a god, not even close. You were named that after the mythological god, but you know, most religions are just fiction. If you were a true God then I wouldn't be able to keep you here. A true God is nothing physical: if god exists then it's probably more like an entity present only in mind. Besides, calling ourselves gods can be considered a sin to anyone who's really deep into that kind of fandom, you know.”
Trashing against the hands holding him back, Chrono snarls and spats multiple unintelligible words between grunts and insults. Soon it all dies as another presence joins:
“Talking about insolence yet you're still the one underestimating your very noticeable stronger enemy. You're truly something else, Chrono.” a deep voice, calm and collected: turning to the direction it came from, Chrono gasps as his eyes fall on Giorno, who's standing there with his hands inside his pockets and Gold Experience Requiem's eyes looming over his shoulder. “You think she doesn't know what she's doing, but if someone understands souls, that is Wire. Just because you fooled us once does not mean it will happen again.”
“Chrono,” Wire calls and the hands that had been keeping him down force him to stand, restraining his legs, arms and torso from facing somewhere else except for her as the Matriarch walks up to him, “You despise humanity but you yourself have human traits,” standing before him, Wire reaches out, hand cupping his jaw, where her thumb and index keep him from talking by pushing his cheeks together, making his lips seal. Like that, the marks from the nails that had been keeping his mouth shut are noticeable, like the scars from damaged tissue during a failed piercing procedure.
“I know you were never true to me or my mistress, but still I wanted to give you a chance to serve her. Now I can't give you another chance,” her free hand comes up, three fingers pressing down onto the orbit of his left eye, dangerously hard, “Because she has already decided over your existence.”
Chrono's screams bounce off the walls, green blood gushing out of his now empty orbits, staining the red water and turning it brown: the eyes he had been keeping a secret lay on the floor by Lena's feet, floating in the water.
“How does it feel, to know your existence lies in the hands of a human?” Wire asks, fingers toying with his robe, “To know she's sentenced you to the worst torture of all?” pouting, the stand tilts her head aside, a twisted grin lifting the corners of her mouth, “If only you had listened. Now you'll join him in your eternal torture.”
As the stand keeps going on her rant, Giorno walks up to Lena, letting Gold Experience approach Wire to watch over her. Standing beside his wife, Giorno asks in a whisper, “who’s that soul she’s talking about?”
Looking up to meet his eyes, Lena uses the same tone to reply, pondering the impact of her answer before she replies, slow and calculated, “Diavolo. Wire's gonna torture Chrono for a while. But…she says she's seen his soul around here.”
Looking forward, Giorno stops to think, trying to understand the implication behind her words, mouth slowly opening to ask, “So that means she gets to know every soul who has left their body after death?”
”Mhm. And see them leave to go back to reincarnate. The only souls who will never leave this place are his (though she says Diavolo’s soul has never left his body completely, because Goldie stops that from happening completely) and from now on, Chrono. There are probably plenty of others, but Wire refuses to let me know.”
Giorno hums, quoting the stand. “Something us humans will ever understand?”
“Exactly.” Looking forward, and watching over the grotesque scenario before them, Lena frowns, seeing Chrono's head turned in their direction: despite the lack of his eyes, he still makes sure to face the place he last saw them standing in.
The grin that spreads through his face even when Wire tears his arm off makes a chill run down her back as Giorno's arm extends up across her middle, intending to protect the baby: as both wait for the fake god to talk, Wire stops, reinforcing the hold around his legs and torso.
“So,” Chrono speaks up, voice hoarse from screaming, “What's the issue? You sealed their stands, didn't you? Why must you do this?”
Lena frowns, not moving from her spot behind Giorno's arm but leaning in to reply, tone firm: “You could have just said the truth and none of this would be happening.”
Chrono's grin widens and he chuckles, laughing loudly and uncontrollably: “That's the fun of this, Mistress! Your desperate attempt to have a normal life being stand users and criminals is ridiculous!”
Shaking his head no, Giorno looks back; “Don't talk to him, he's just trying to mess with—”
There it goes again, the same hoarse voice, broken from screaming and laughing though this time his question goes to Giorno;
“Bruno Buccellati! You couldn't save him, right?”
Stopping and turning back to face him still with his arm up in a protective stance, Giorno's jaw remains so tense Lena can hear the sheer strength he's unconsciously using to clench his jaw as she steps closer, hands shaking upon the mention of one of the names written in the memorial in their garden back home.
Grinning, Chrono trashes against his bindings, where the metal has turned red and his skin has started to bleed. His wicked grin widens and he leans forward, spitting the words across the soul reign and straight into Giorno's and Lena's faces.
“The girl you're expecting will do what you couldn't. She will inflict the spark of life back and build an army of her own—” listening to the couple's sudden silence the prophet laughs, loud and numbing and opening his mouth to speak again, Wire's already there, silencing him with a flick of her wrist: his larynx in the palm of her hand bleeds and paints the water under their feet with only the sound of said constant drop as the only sound left after the confession.
“Sorry, Mistress.” Wire speaks up, slow and calm despite the grotesque scenario behind her, “I will deal with him. Please, get some rest.”
Pale and slightly dizzy, Lena nods and with a snap of her fingers, the soul reign disappears along with Wire and Chrono.
The silence of the office, where they stand back again, brings uneasiness to both, hands and legs shaking, disoriented and worried.
Gold Experience Requiem circles the couple, pink eyes big with curiosity and intrigue as he asks, “Master?”
Blinking and coming back from the shock, Giorno retrieves the chair from the desk, offering it to Lena: “Don't worry, Goldie.”
The stand's eyes remain on his user, observing his features and watching over him as he extends a hand out, helping her sit and then, slowly, kneeling before her.
“Interesting.” Gold Experience Requiem says, intrigued with Giorno's almost automatized actions. Knowing that anyone who saw that would freak out: to see one of the most powerful men in the world kneeling before his wife, it truly meant he saw her as his equal.
Slowly fading back into Giorno’s soul, leaving behind the faint smell of flowers and honey, the stand's pink eyes linger on the couple, making sure the baby inside her remains healthy.
Silence settles in as Giorno leans his head in her lap, arms around her hips —and her hands leave soft caresses to his back and shoulders.
The first to talk is Giorno, who's voice comes out muffled: “Lena, why did you give Chrono an opportunity? couldn’t we just finish it off back then?”
Tensing up, she leans back to rest her back against the backrest. “A soul can’t be killed, it must follow a cycle of reincarnation until it no longer can and then it should be resting forever, but it will keep its memories and experiences within something called core… I wanted to give him an opportunity because Matteo wouldn’t have been able to do everything he did for you if it weren’t for his powers.”
“Then, what about death?”
She presses her lips together for a second, slowly opening them back again to reply: “death as a concept is only part of this life. What we call life does not end with death, because death is reserved for those alive. When we die, we don't disappear. If a soul has completed their cycle, then they go to a place called Nirvana...”
Silent, Giorno looks back then back down, slowly resting his head in her lap where he rests for a moment, thinking about her words and remembering everything they’ve lived for the past two years since Matteo’s return, feeling her fingers toy and comb over his hair.
Sunrays make their way through the curtains, bathing them and, when Giorno looks back, his hair, eyebrows and lashes shine golden, green eyes that for a second seem gold look back into soft brown ones when he states. “Chrono or not, Matteo is a man of justice. He would have done the same for me in return.”
She smiles, sad and troubled —guilty— and only there Giorno notices the way the sun makes her eyes look amber and her curls to shine in a much lighter brown, freckles standing out like stars in a clear sky despite the clear difference between her smile and her hurt eyes. “Maybe. But I still wanted to. I guess I was wrong.”
“Gratitude doesn’t equal failure. You were just trying to preserve a part of his soul…” standing up, he offers a hand out, ”Instead, why don’t we spend more time with Matteo, let him know what happened?”
Accepting his help, she groans a bit as her back protests from the exertion. “That would make me feel better, yeah.”
As he guides her to the door, his eyes drift to the stain in the carpets and desk, finding none of it: and as he holds the door open and his eyes peek at his shirt and her dress, the green stains are gone too. Ignoring that, he speaks up again. “Do you think he's home?”
“Dunno? But we're showing up uninvited, so we definitely need to bring something.”
Closing the door, both stop the conversation momentarily turning to the SPW agents who stand there, tense, waiting for Lena's orders
“Chrono is no longer with us,” she says, walking before Gio and into the door's direction, still talking to the agents. “You will have a report in three days. Until then, I'm gonna need you to be discreet.”
Both agents nod and the couple leaves, now standing by the lobby.
“Gio,” she calls, holding his hand. “Do you think Esme…?”
Entwining his fingers with hers and spotting West coming to them, Giorno leans down to reply, “I don't think I've processed that yet but I'm sure Matteo or Mr. Polnareff can help us out.”
“Yo,” raising a hand to greet both, Westwood comes to stand before them, a coffee cup in his hand —the exhaustion from past days evident from the way he blinks slowly. Still, the man doesn’t seem to mind as he takes another sip from his beverage. “Where to next?”
Gesturing forward, Gio and Lena walk past him and Westwood follows after them immediately, holding his coffee by the lid. As the automatic door slides open and the three of them stand under the sun, Giorno turns to him:
“First, we’re ordering takeout and then we’re visiting Matteo.”
***
Matteo’s home is not big: instead, it has enough space to be called home and host both him and his nephew Angelo. A safespace after all the violence and blood, as Giorno had described it on the way there.
Standing there with multiple takeout bags in their arms and nervous smiles, Westwood rings the bell, hand coming back down to support the bag he's holding as the sound of the doorbell resounds through the living room inside, met with silence.
Turning to Giorno, Lena hums inquisitively and before her mouth opens the door does. There stands Angelo, messy hair and pajamas —a pair of yellow shorts and a basic red t-shirt —- his jaw hangs open upon the sight of Passione’s bosses: after a moment of wide eyes and a gaping mouth, he curses:
“Oh, shit. Uh,” looking back inside, he steps aside, leaving the door open. “Come in! Sorry, we spent the night awake and we’re, just, uhm…” Standing by the couch, he leans down, takes a bundled up blanket and tosses it behind the couch, pretending to have done it without their eyes still on him. “We just woke up, uncle Matteo should be here soon.”
“Yeah,” setting the bags down, Gio stands back up with a small smile, “Sorry we showed up like this, but there’s something we’d like to talk about with you both.”
“Ah, then I’ll call him.” Turning around, he walks up to the door, presumably the one connected to a hall leading to the bathroom. “Please sit down, I’ll call him. He was taking a shower.”
From her spot by Westwood’s side Lena speaks up, “Do you need help with something around the house?”
With a loud gasp, Angelo turns back around, pointing at the baby bump with a finger and a warm smile and a joke on his lips: “You, miss, are not doing shit around this house. Only rest.”
Laughing, she sits back down slowly, hands up in surrender. “Got it, got it.”
Shaking his head and chuckling, Angelo leaves and as he disappears behind the wall the sounds of birds chirping in the distance fill the silence. Looking around, Westwood silently sits in the couch beside Giorno and Lena, setting his elbows on his thighs: his eyes look around the room, catching on every detail: from the photos hanging in the walls, the vintage decoration and the tv in front of them, to the single dry stain of what he assumes is coffee in the carpet between his feet.
This feels like home, he thinks, back to the days his mom was still with him and his father and they were still a family, happy and uni—
“Good afternoon, GioGio, Lena, Agosto.” The man before them looks younger —healthier than before and definitely happier. The only thing that makes Giorno frown are the dark glasses that sit on the bridge of his nose, hiding his eyes.
Standing up, Gio crosses the living room in three long strides, offering a hand out for a handshake: instead, Matteo, steps in and grabs at his arm, pulling him in for a hug: rubbing at his back and then, slowly, letting him go with a few pats to his back:
“I’m so glad to see you again.” Walking up to Lena, he offers a gentle hand out, grinning: “Hey, Lena. Are you feeling okay?”
Nodding, she accepts his handshake: her smile grows and her cheeks turn pinker as she rubs a hand at the bump. “Yeah, don’t worry. We’re doing fine.”
“Good,” turning to West, he asks a final question as he offers a handshake to the bodyguard: “I take it it's a girl?”
Westwood’s handshake comes a little bit tighter —a warning— as the couple falls silent, still not over the earlier events.
“I know he’s gone,” Matteo starts as he sits before the three of them, making space for Angelo to sit on the armrest of the couch he’s in. “In fact, I do know some things.”
Sighing, Gio leans back. “Let’s start from the beginning: how do you know it’s a girl…?”
Humming, Matteo ponders his reply for a moment, trying to find the best order to his words and troubled mind. “One of the last visions I had involved her. Right now, I really want to keep the rest of what I saw, because I know you’re excited to meet her and, you know, I’m not a killjoy: you should meet her like every parent does. Besides,” raising his hand, his finger wraps itself around the bridge of his glasses, swiftly sliding them down to reveal his eyes: almost like nothing had ever happened, the hourglass shape on the sclera of his left eye gone, replaced back by his brown orb. “Waking up like this only gave me a clue, but seeing you here confirms my suspicions. You must have done something: you two are, how do I say this, kinda crazy.”
Silence settles in, with the sounds of birds chirping in the small garden filling in the tension.
“Well,” Westwood says, leaning back with a hand over his eyes. “That makes things easier, boss.”
Lena sighs, leaning back with lips sealed and eyes roaming around the floor like it’s the most interesting thing even if she speaks up, slow and almost inaudible. “I didn't want this to happen, Mr. Morte. I wanted to, uhm, honor your will. For all you did for Giogio...”
“Jesus,” Matteo sighs, laughing right after: “You two, how many times do I have to repeat this? You,” he points at Giorno, “You were just a kid! Being a kid is not a sin and it shouldn't condemn you to eternal gratefulness. You need to drop this and just keep going.” Opening his arms to emphasize his surroundings, Matteo grins, knowing his words will soothe them both:
“To me, having you here is enough to know my actions were right: knowing all the blood in my hands was worth something in the end.”
Smiling, Lena nods, wiping a single tear with her finger —by her side Westwood shifts, taking a napkin from the bags and offering it to her as Giorno laughs, hands up his hair.
“Okay,” the Don says, “Then that makes everything easier: we were worried you could have been hurt. Or angry.”
“Oh, no.” Matteo shrugs, standing up and walking to the kitchen, “If I look like this ‘s because we spent the night watching a 98’s series. Knowing Chrono will not hurt anyone is a good thing to know: he's not the type of stand you could consider an ally.”
“Really? Which one?” Eyes following him as he leaves, Giorno grins from his spot, fully agreeing with everything he said regarding the parasite —focusing instead on watching Matteo disappear into the kitchen and emerge back with clean dishes, setting them on the table.
When Matteo looks back his features have turned calmer, serious, like he has deciphered the couple's tense stance and the reason behind it: “Before we keep going, is there something bothering you? My experience with Chrono has been enough to know he never misses an opportunity to mess with others.”
“Now that you mention it,” Lena says, having calmed down already. “He did say something strange: something about Esme.”
“Mhm,” sitting back on his spot, Matteo rubs two fingers at his chin. “So her name’s Esme… What did he say?”
Feeling a chill run down her spine, it takes a moment for her to reply, sensing everyone’s eyes on her by the time she looks back: “That she’s gonna be a necromancer.”
Whistling, Angelo rubs the back of his neck, “Yeah, that’s gonna be problematic.”
Pondering his reply for a second, and only after studying Girono’s and Lena’s faces, Matteo shrugs, “Then that only means your stand powers mixed somehow: if anything, I’d suggest contacting someone specialized enough. You should have someone, right?”
Sharing a look, Gio and Lena look back, slowly nodding in unison.
“Then,” Taking a dish and opening the takeout bag, Matteo looks back, a look of disappointment starting to emerge as he notices the couple’s sad, apologetic look: “At least eat a little bit before you go?”
“Sure,” Gio nods, calmer and at peace now that West sent the request to Fugo, “I promise we’ll come back with the boys and share a meal.”
Grinning, the sadness disappears from Matteo’s eyes as he starts to serve the first dish, “The twins! Are their stands active?”
Taking the dish offered to him, West chuckles: “That’s how this started.”
Laughing, Matteo nods, “Then tell me all about it.”
***
An hour later, as Westwood pulls up by the front door of the mansion, Mista stands outside with a nervous look on his face and sweat clinging to his brow.
Helping Lena walk upstairs, Giorno meets the gunslinger halfway, frowning: “What’s wrong?”
Scratching his head, Mista looks back inside, letting Giorno know the door is open. “Did you call the division zero?”
Nodding, Giorno looks between the open door and then back at him. “Yeah, around an hour ago. Why?”
“Dude,” taking his hat off, Mista uses the fabric to wipe his sweat, feet moving furiously from side to side, “He showed up almost two hours ago!”
“Oh?” peeking inside still from her spot, Lena smiles, “He’s here?”
Freaking out, Mista puts his hat back on, running back to the door and trying to block the view. “Why are you happy, Helena?!”
Lena grins, trying not to laugh: “Calm down, Stampede.”
Giorno blinks, eyeing someone standing behind Mista: the gunslinger, sensing the presence, turns around and backs away.
The man in the doorway remains silent, with his usual scarf wrapped around his neck and mouth: his mohawk adds a few centimeters to his full height and the dark circles under his eyes and pale —almost gray— skin give off just how much time he spends in his underground house.
“Hey, Corvo.” Lena greets him, walking up to pat his arm and then inside. The man bows, closing his eyes as he does: then, he waits until Giorno walks up to greet him with a slow blink and a nod.
With Mista deciding to stay outside to 'keep the perimeter safe', Giorno closes the door, turning to the man.
“Sorry I called you like this,” He starts, gesturing at the couch. “But there’s something we wanted to ask.”
He nods three times: an indicator that he already knows that.
Giorno nods, noticing Lena’s gone —probably upstairs to greet the Kishibes and the kids— and looking back, he goes straight to the point: “Does your Empress know of my daughter’s powers?”
Melmoth ‘Corvo’ De Angelis had not always been like this. At least not for the last forty years —until then, he had been a normal, functioning man. After a particular accident where his life had been about to end, something had refused to pick him and guide him to the afterlife.
The something in question being Death itself. She had fallen for him and his gentle heart from the moment she saw his soul drifting between both worlds and instead of following her orders, she had decided to let him live and grant him the ability to never leave the human world, offering her protection.
Corvo had questioned her judgment many times before: but the answer was always the same: she had found it enthralling, to know he and his stand allowed those in the afterlife to communicate and help their souls find peace —with the high price of losing his voice, too. Death had fallen for him, someone she deemed worthy of her eternal care.
His days in Passione were still few, probably just five years: having been found by Paolo during one of his experiments somewhere in Rome, Corvo didn't’ really mind and so, he ended up joining and working under Giorno as the only member of the division zero: a special, secret unit reserved only to lost causes.
The one man division.
To him, not having missions was not a problem at all, since this allowed him to spend less time under the sunlight.
“Melmoth,” Giorno calls and he blinks, snapping out of his thoughts. Nodding, the man reaches for the notebook and pen he keeps on his pockets, writing down his message and then showing it to Giorno:
‘My Empress knows. She does not mind. However, she thinks the girl should receive special education.”
Sighing, a weight disappears off his chest: nodding, Giorno says: “She will. We’re not sure who’ll teach her, but… Worrying about that right now won’t help.”
Melmoth nods, eyes drifting around like he's thinking —then, slowly, he picks the pen back again, gesturing at Giorno to wait.
Leaning back, Gio watches the way the pen slides against the paper: hears the sound of it scraping against the fibers and then, his eyes follow the piece of paper presented to him. Taking it from Melmoth, he reads over the phrase twice:
‘I will be her teacher. My Empress could help, too.”
Looking back, Giorno's reply comes stern and fast, like an automatic response: “Sure. But only when she's older. We will work on suppressing her stand for a few years until she's able to understand life and death.”
Nodding twice, Melomth stands up, knowing his presence is no longer required: bowing one last time, he walks up to the door with Giorno following him.
Hopping on his motorcycle, he puts on his helmet, properly securing it around his head. Turning to Giorno, he makes a 'peace and love' sign as the engine starts. Only when Giorno nods he speeds up, disappearing from his view in a few seconds.
Coming back inside, Gio stands in the middle of the living room, eyes roaming around and taking on the calm aura: the one he had missed the past days. Feeling his phone buzz in his back pocket, he grabs the device and opens the new message from his lockscreen.
When the message loads, a soft grin lights up his face and he walks over to Lena to share, showing her the screen. She glances down, shoulders relaxing when she sees the image: Dante and Jovi have Eliana between them on the couch with huge grins, each holding up their favorite toys out to the photographer.
Tearing up a little, Lena wipes at her eyes and leans onto Giogio’s shoulder a moment. “Make sure to text them thank you. We’ll have to print a copy of that for the boys’ room.”
Giogio nods, leaning in to kiss her forehead. “I’ll go call Kishibe and make sure everyone is doing okay.”
Lena watches as her husband exits out the front door, holding her stomach carefully and feeling Esme kick to meet where her hand rests. Closing her eyes, she considers the words Chrono spit out before being silenced.
Matriarch of shadows.
Life and death was something Helena was no stranger to considering, especially with Wire Requiem’s powers. But thinking about someone so small with the power to bring life or inflict death gave her chills.
Pressing against Esme’s kicks, Lena uttered a silent wish, that the shadows would be protection instead of darkness, that Esme’s view of life would be bright and kind, and that all the children and their stand powers would turn out alright.
As a stand user, it could be easy to forget that the powers they all held weren’t common knowledge or normal traits. Becoming a stand user meant shouldering a responsibility to humanity–to use your powers wisely or face the consequences of misuse. Esme would have considerable power, but in the same measure, an extraordinary burden.
Please be merciful. God, universe, death. Whoever you are, pulling the strings. Tip fate in our favor.

Sirens Call Arc 1/3
Tumblr media
“You remember the plan right.”
Shard just nods, having heard it multiple times from the airplane ride to Italy, and the many meetings from the past month.
The plan was simple. Izzy was going to bid at the Siren's Cove secret auction, (with the SPW footing the bill of course) in the hopes to purchase the Stand Bow. It’s unknown what the bow can really do, but it’s speculated that it's just as powerful as the Stand Arrows. So, of course, the Foundation doesn’t want that kind of power in the wrong hands.
So they sent out Izzy, (and some other disguised SPW agents to the casino, as backup), and Shard (who was hired by Izzy to be her bodyguard). To retrieve it.
If the auction were to go wrong in any way, then they had permission to take action as they saw fit. He was hoping that this job would be simple. Oh how wrong he was.
The two approach Siren’s Cove Casino. A fitting name for the famous casino that’s known for dragging people into debt. Leading many of the guests who enter, to become prey to the many unsavory individuals inside. Making it a perfect feeding ground for the loan sharks lurking inside.
“Alrighty then, let’s do this! I think the entrance is over here. Maybe afterwords we could gamble. I’ve never done that before!” Izzy cheerfully exclaims, as she drags the larger man inside. Shard still baffles at how such a small woman could have such enthusiasm.
Still he couldn’t stop worrying about one thing.
There was the problem of a certain vampire not being with them. The SPW was very adamant about Ardram not being able to join this mission in particular, and were somehow able to separate the two for long enough, that Izzy was able to get on a plane without him.
Shard grimaced under his mask just thinking about it. Adram ought to be furious, and would probably find his way here soon enough. If anything were to happen to Izzy on his watch-
He shook his head, this wasn’t the time to start thinking about that now. He had to be focused to make sure that nothing happens.
Looking around, he saw that the casino was teeming with excited gamblers. With the whole floor being themed as if one was under the sea. Vibrant blues and greens flashing all about from the machines. With a large aquarium in the center. Even the members of staff were dressed to the theme of the casino, them either being pirates, fishermen or mermaids
The two soon found themselves at the highest floor available to the average gambler. Where Izzy spotted a door off to the side that was almost hidden from view, and gestured for Shard to do his thing. Rolling his eyes he knocked on the door in a strange pattern, and said in practiced fashion, “The pull of the sea was too much for two.”
The door creaks open allowing the two to step inside to a spiral staircase leading up to the next floor. At the very top floor, the two are greeted to the sight of a large theater that would host the auction. With other guests already inside ambling about.
Izzy walks over to one of the staff, awkwardly smiling. “Excuse me, but how long until the auction begins? It’s my first time doing this”
“Not long Miss. it’ll be a few minutes at best. You’ll need this.”
She thanks him giving him a tip, as he hands her a cue card. “We’re all set. Now all we got to do is find a seat.” Shard was already eyeing a row, and with a nudge they settled down in their seats.
A few minutes later, a young woman sat next to them, and nervously started a conversation with them. “H-hello. Umm what was it again, oh right. Do you like frogs with top hats?”
Tumblr media
That question itself was a code by the foundation for this mission to figure out who were spw members without explicitly saying it aloud, and Izzy immediately replied with the code phrase to affirm her status. “Oh yes! I really enjoy it when they wear a tiny mustache too. It’s so adorable. I’m Izzy by the way.” Izzy extends her hand in greeting with a large smile on her face.
Haven’s tense posture visibly relaxed at her response, and tentatively shook Izzys extended hand with her gloved one. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, and uh is he with you?”
Shard nods curtly answering “Yes, I’m Shard.”
“I’m Haven. I’m new to all this, so please be patient with me.”
While the two began to chat as they waited for the auction to begin. Shard looked over the woman, and couldn’t help but find her…strange. Especially her gold necklace that appeared to have eyes engraved on it. He’s certain that he’s seen that before, but couldn’t remember where at that moment.
When he was about to ask her, most of the lights turned off and the lights on the stage brightened.
The auction finally begins.

Passione's Bizarre Adventure
It is an AU that I've been writing for a while. Unfortunately, I lost all the chapters I had written, but I found my old notebook with all of my thoughts about this fanfic. So I could do some incorrect quotes that fits the story or write bits of it as fake chat prints.
I had a lot of fun when writing this back in the days. I'm planning on re-write it one day.
You must read the settings of this AU so you won't be confused afterward:
Phantom Blood: [138 years ago (part written 5 years ago)]
- Jonathan survived but was turned into a vampire. Unfortunately, Dio took his body and left our dear sweet Joestar as a flying severed head. Because of it, he decided to stay hidden in the shadows since he didn't want to scare his friend and wife.
Battle Tendency: [64 years ago (part written 5 years ago)]
- Caesar lives.
- The four (4) pillar men lives.
- Joseph still loses his hand tho.
- Jonathan reappeared only to Robert E. O. Speedwagon. After some talk, he turns his friend into a vampire who helps him deal with Dio later.
- The Speedwagon Foundation is the only one who knows about them. The organization also helped Robert fakes his death.
Stardust Crusaders: [24 years ago (part written 5 years ago)]
- The crusaders' crew lives, with some scars and injuries but still alive.
- Jonathan appears to save the day. He manages to get his body back.
- Dio still lives, and now he's under SPW's care.
- Most of the foes are now under SPW's care.
Diamond's Unbreakable: [5 years ago]
- Everyone lives but Josuke's grandpa.
- Kira lives. He manages to convince everyone that he isn't a serial killer and that he only has a realist silicon hand for his pleasure. Still, he's under SPW's watchful eyes.
- Kishibe Rohan became interested in the Joestars' history. After some talk with the SPW and the Joestars, he gets permission to write a manga about them called: "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure."
- Rohan changed some things for artistic and aesthetic purposes.
- Posteriorly, the manga would become a series, and most of them would be interpreting themselves.
- The pillar men are now members of the SPW.
Vento Aureo: [3 years ago]
- Everyone lives but Polpo.
- Diavolo was underage when he became a father (14-15 years old).
- Donatella Una was 19 years old. She didn't know her one-night stand partner's age.
- After roughly ten (10) months after the baby was born, Donatella found Diavolo and gave him his daughter, claiming that she couldn't raise the baby. Posteriorly, Diavolo would erase everything about his past and disappear with the baby, now named Trish.
- At 14 years old, Trish got curious about who her mother was. Diavolo ordered Periculo to take his daughter to Donatella. Trish wasn't allowed to tell her about him.
- Almost a year after, a rival gang tries to kidnap Trish. Donatella's sent to the hospital for recovery.
- Diavolo ordered Bucciarati's team to escort Trish back to him.
- Giorno Giovanna did a deal with the Boss and became a Capo.
- Almost a year after, the SPW got in touch with Passione. Diavolo surprisingly agreed to be a public world-known figure.
- At the end of the Vento Aureo's part, Giorno become Passione's Underboss.
Stone Ocean: [1 year and 11 months ago]
- Everyone lives.
- Jotaro married Kakyoin a couple of years after divorcing Jolyne's mother.
- Dio stopped Pucci and convinced him to become a member of the Speedwagon Foundation.
- Dio manages to get a new body.
- The criminal crew plus Emporio lives with Jotaro and Kakyoin.
- Jotaro adopted Foo Fighters.
- Annasui's just 1 year older than Jolyne.
- Annasui and Jolyne are dating. Jotaro doesn't know how to deal with it.
- The info about Annasui's criminal record is a mystery. Everyone knows he killed someone but, who, how and why he did it is unclear. Besides some agents from SPW, Jolyne, Weather and Emporio, no one really knows the context behind his actions.
Steel Ball Run: [1 year ago]
- Everyone lives since the entire story of this part was created by Kishibe Rohan.
- SPW found them individually.
- Diego Brando's a distant relative of Dio. He's a famous English jockey.
- Johnny Joestar's a distant relative of Jonathan. He's a famous American jockey.
- Gyro Zeppeli's a distant relative of Caesar. He's a doctor who occasionally participates in races as a jockey.
- Lucy Pendleton is 18 years old.
- Funny Valentine's an ex-soldier who's still psychologically recovering from when he was held captive by guerrillas.
- Valentine's the same age as Diavolo and Kira. 33 years old.
- Valentine's reserved, keeping himself distant from everyone, and seems to be unapproachable. The majority of the SBR crew is unfamiliar with his past, Scarlet is the only one who knows about.
Jojolion: [currently]
- As SBR, it's an mostly original creation of Rohan. So everyone lives.
- Yoshikage Kira and Josefumi Kujo aren't Josuke Higashikata.
- Yoshikage isn't related to his namesake.
- Josefumi's a distant relative of the Kujo, he isn't from the Joestar bloodline.
- Josuke's a distant relative of both Higashikata and Joestar bloodline. Since he and part 4 Josuke has the exact same name, he's called Gappy or just Josu.
- The Higashikata family are close relatives of Tomoko.
OCs - Squadra del Drago captains:
- Rodrigo Castro Alves (33 years old), also known as Rodie. Formerly an elite soldier from Comandos (1° BAC - Brazil). He's one of the roughly 150 militarily trained stand users from Passione's Boss' security team "Squadra del Drago" (dragon team), known as "I Diavoli" (the devils). He is responsible for the security of the base they are on, he also acts as an infiltrated agent, easily blending in rival gangs to obtain information for his boss Diavolo.
- Vikhrov Viktor Zakharovich (36 years old), also known as Vitya, Vik, Vitcho, or Vitty. Formerly an elite soldier from Vympel (Spetsgruppa Vympel - Russia). He's mostly responsible for elite covers as an sniper but can also be a infiltrated agent on rival gangs as Rodie, thanks to his unexpected KGB training. Also a stand user.
- Heiner Kohlhase Wernz (37 years old), also known as Hei. Formerly an elite soldier from KSK (Kommando Spezialkräfte - Germany). They're mostly responsible for rescuing important targets in rival gang areas but they're mainly focused on planing strategies and collecting information through digital equipments. Also a Stand user.
- Heiner, Viktor and Rodie are the Squadra del Drago's leaders. They are always close to Diavolo.
OCs - Non criminal ocs... Yet:
- Yngvar Pris (20 years old), also known as Sir Sickness, is a childhood friend of Narciso Annasui. He works as a bartender at nigh clubs and sometimes as a freelancer writer and translator. Recently he gained Passione's attention through Annasui since his stand abilities could be well used and developed on la Squadra di Esecuzione.
- Myra d'Imperio (23 years old), also known as Imp or Myr, is a close friend and roommate of Yngvar. She's a freelancer stylist and makeup artist. She became Annasui and Jolyne's friend since they share some common aesthetic opinions. She's also a Stand user.
Notes:
- The villains are the main characters.
- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is Rohan's masterpiece, the series and manga is the same we all know from Araki but on this AU the “true story” is mostly different.
- Besides Diavolo, Dio and Kars, no one knows that Kira's a actual serial killer.
- Diavolo has a thing for blond guys.
- Diavolo, Kira and Funny are close friends even if FV doesn't know much about Kira.
- The ocs' infos and stand details will be added later.

Arden, Caius and Jotaro arrive at the abandoned manor after hours of walking. The trio knew that this was where Darius was hiding and they knew that this had to be quick. Caius scouts the area with Seven Nation Army in hand and notices that there was no one inside the manor at the moment. “It’s clear.” The SPW agent says, signaling his comrades to enter. He then notices that the basement door was open and gets strange vibes from it.
Arden however decides to go down to the basement without fear, thinking that their target was down there. “Alright, shit face! Come out!” He yells, only to end up finding several patchwork humans.
Jotaro enters the basement too and sees the bodies. “What the hell?” He has heard about this kind of experimentation from the workers at the foundation after Thunderstruck got caught, but he never thought that they were real. As Raines and Arden follow him deeper into the basement, the marine biologist hears something. “Halt.” He stops walking, signaling the others to do the same.
Arden looks around to see what’s wrong. “What is it, Kujo.”
“Trouble.”
At that moment something walked out of the shadows right in front of the trio. A large humanoid being with pale skin, blood red eyes, razor sharp teeth and two large horns. As soon as it sees it’s prey, the beast roar and lunges at them.
To be continued...

I finished the drawing I promised, this took longer than it should've because I've drawn Polnareff fully before nor have I've drawn Avdol, I worked really hard trying to get these two accurate, that and I got distracted by the internet again. That being said, onto the story(I think I created a "Pulp Fiction" scenario with it).
This drawing is a prequel to this: Link, which fully explains how she ended up in the hospital as seen here: Link The drawing here also takes place after this: Link ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After their run in with Mariah and Alessi, the Crusaders and Medea drive back to Aswan from Luxor to rest and tell the hospitalized Kakyoin about their experiences(and poke fun at Medea for her plans backfiring).
During their down time, Medea returns to the hotel to take a shower and get some fresh clothes because she got dirtied up when Jotaro dropped kicked her during the fight in Luxor, with Avdol and Polnareff keeping her company since she's not allowed to be alone(what with being an agent of DIO and all). While in the shower, the body foundation Medea's been using on herself got washed off, revealing a bunch of bite-like welts on her back and her neck, which hurts every time she showers in hot water.
During which, Medea starts getting a bad feeling that something isn't right, she can't explain it but she feels like something bad is about to happen to her, and [Flogging Molly] urges her to get help, but she refuses to...
It wasn't until she started feeling hot and tired that the feeling start growing worse, and it only escalated further when she starting feeling dizzy, breathless, and cold to the touch, as well as [Flogging Molly] starting to fizz out. That's when she got out of the shower and looked herself in the mirror, she sees that her skin's becoming mottled and pale, and the area around her welts have become redder and darker, she panicked when she realized that these are signs of Blood Poisoning.
Medea started screaming for help until Polnareff overheard her and was shocked to find her in such a state, Avdol even saw the welts and identified them as Vampire bites. They took her back to the hospital and once inside, Avdol told the others that Medea's sick and needs help.
While examining the infection, they found out that this was caused by DIO(thanks to the SPW Doctors testing the blood and Iggy smelling the bites) as it has Vampiric properties, so Joseph and the SPW Doctors started taking care of this problem until about an hour later, they were able to remove the Vampiric properties with Hamon and stabilize the infection so now it can be treated normally, saving Medea's life. Afterwards, the Crusaders came together and theorized how did this happen and why DIO gave her Blood Poisoning, eventually coming to the conclusion that he infected her with it as a fail safe in case she fails her Mission similar to a fleshbud, and that someone must've ratted her out about her failure(Spoiler Alert: it was Hol Horse but it wasn't his fault), meaning she's no longer useful to DIO.
When they told Medea this theory, she finally breaks down crying and admits to them how she truly feels about DIO:
She only joined his side just to get revenge on Jason and because she felt bad for him being hurt by Jonathan, but she's more scared of him than she is loyal to him, she never wanted to be involved with his century long grudge nor witness the horrors caused by him and his agents in the first place.
She also admits to losing her chastity to him months prior, which explains the Vampire bites and why she has to hide them with makeup, she didn't want anyone to find out and calls herself a filthy slut(Polnareff: Don't say that! You're not a slut!).
After hearing this, the group realized that Medea is in serious danger and in pain, so they have to admit her to the hospital with Kakyoin. While Jotaro commented that they now don't have a mole, Avdol mentions that her safety and recovery is the highest priority right now, they would have to find DIO's Mansion by themselves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Medea King belongs to me

wait so (regarding paradox giorno) what happens when giorno gets yeeted??? do people panic?? is the passione still a thing????
passione is in fact still a thing! and people DO panic. "people" meaning mista, sheila, fugo, trish, polnareff—it's kept really tightly under wraps when it comes to the rest of the gang.
basically like. giorno flat-up disappears right in front of jotaro and a few members of the speedwagon foundation. jotaro then contacts polnareff, who contacts giorno's most trusted circle—mista and trish freak out the most since they saw GER in action and even they don't know what exactly it's capable of even though they're the first giorno reports to if he finds something new
so it's mostly just: giorno disappears for a few weeks or so. yes, people panic, but only a very small group of people. passione then gets managed by mista and fugo until giorno's return. (fugo takes over handling interactions with the spw foundation and with most of the paperwork end of things while mista monitors field agents and such)
thank you so much for asking !!!!

(Headcannon- Vampire Kakyoin sometimes goes on highly top secret, extremely dangerous missions for the SPW. Like some freakin Mission Impossible shiz.) Kakyoin: “Come in HQ. Over.”
SPW: “This is HQ, what is your status? Over.” Kakyoin: “I’m in position, and the target is in sight, but……… the sun came up… so I’m a little stuck…..” (And then he spent the rest of the day under a bush.)
Kakyoin: I was able to reposition myself some place a little less conspicuous. Over.
SPW: Where are you now? Over.
Kakyoin: A port-a-potty….O-over...

A Shining Shield
Kakyoin x Reader
This is a Part 2 to. A Helping Hand requested by the lovely @lilsushicinnamonroll a while back. Sorry it took so long, Angst isn't mt forte.
Warnings: Angst, Death. MEGA PART 3 SPOILERS, Dio's Simp House, let me know if I missed something.
You're going to want some confort food. I cried writing this.
Let's go.
□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■
You and Kakyoin had been dating for about two weeks now. After that night in the desert, the two of you became inseparable. Except when you stayed in a hotel. In that case, you got your own room while Kakyoin shared with Joseph, who kept him bound to the bed by Hermit Purple. Neither of you minded, though. As long as you two were together and as safe as you could be while on the hunt for a hundred-year-old vampire, you were happy.

Both of you were injured in the fight with N’Doul. You promised to meet up in Cairo when you were discharged from the hospital. The hospital staff was kind enough to let you stay in the same room, although you did get scolded for being too loud. You were both released on the same day and hightailed to Cairo.

You were on your way to the rendezvous spot when You ran into Iggy, the newest member of the team. He was bloody, bruised, and missing a leg. Kakyoin patched him up and had him lead you to the others.

You followed Iggy through the streets of Cairo, dread building with every step. Soon enough, you found them. They were happy to see you, but the joy was short-lived. You still had DIO to defeat.

          You made it to the doors of DIO’s simp house, and the gates were wide open, oppressive and ominous like the awaiting jaws of a horrible beast.

          Kakyoin pulled you to the side before you could enter the gate. “Y/N-”

          “Don’t even say it.” You cut him off. “No, ifs. We will make it out. We all will.”

          You saw tears prick the corners of your beloved’s eyes and struggled to suppress your own. Kakyoin pressed a kiss to your forehead and pulled you into a sincere hug.

          “Yeah. We all are making out. No, ifs.” He repeated. “DIO’s ass is ours.”

          You chuckled despite the heavy weight in your chest. You knew better than to believe such far-fetched fantasies, you both did, but it gave you a sense of power like everything wasn’t about to end horribly.

          Kakyoin pressed his forehead against yours and whispered, “Ai shiteru.”

          You gasped a little at that. You knew how strong that phrase was in the Japanese language, and that married couples could go years without saying that to each other.

          “Ai shiteru.” You repeated.

          And with that, the two of you released one another. Taking Kakyoin’s hand, you walked side by side together through the gates of hell.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          Within minutes, you and Kakyoin got separated. He was pulled through a portal while trying to save Jotaro and Joseph, while you were left with Avdol, Iggy, and Polnareff.
          The four of you set off to find DIO. Avdol used Magician’s Red to search for any people while you used Magenta Sunset to search for any long-ranged Stands. You all noticed it was too quiet.
          In an instant, your Stand reacted to an unseen force, pushing Avdol out of the way. Whatever was attacking you took a big chunk of your upper arm. You used your Stand to locate Vanilla Ice. Still, even with the combined force of all four of you and damn near twenty minutes, it took stupidly walking into the sunlight with his new vampire form to beat the purple-clad Stand user.
          You encounter DIO on the staircase to the next level. He challenged Polnareff to take another step up the stairs, only to have the Frenchman brought down a step or two. The World, DIO’s Stand, managed to paralyze you, but you could still see what he was doing.
          You were about to manifest you Stand against the vampire, but a voracious yell from the other side of the wall startled all of you. There was the sound of cracking stone, and the staircase was flooded with late afternoon sunlight as Star Platinum punched his way into the building.
          DIO fled to his tower with your team hot on his tail. You could feel Kajyoin’s eyes on your wound. Polnareff wrapped it up, but it still hurt like a bitch.
          DIO was finally cornered at the top of his tower. The burning hatred and malevolence emanating from the vampire was almost palpable. You flinched as you felt yourself lose feeling throughout your body and cursed inwardly as DIO’s eyes snapped toward you.
          “Strange~” He mused. He sent Avdol and Iggy flying, knocking them unconscious against the wall.
          You felt his hands on your face, but no muscles twitched against his touch. His hands slid down your frame and came to rest on your hips.
          Feeling returned to your body and you summoned your Stand, but DIO retreated faster than you could attack.
          “Y/N~” DIO purred. “You’ve come so far. I believe that you’re finally ready to join me at the top of the world. I’ll forgive you for your… rebellious phase.”
          You glared daggers at the vampire. “Like Hell I’d ever join you again. I was naive in the past, but no longer.”
          DIO chuckled. “You know that the only alternative is death, right? Come on~ Beauty like you shouldn’t be wasted on such a finite life span. I’ll treat you better than any man you could ever be with.”
          “Leave her alone!” Kakyoin yelled, launching a stream of razor-sharp emeralds at DIO.
          The vampire easily deflected all of the shards and took a moment to look between you and Kakyoin before bursting into a roaring laugh.
          “Oh, Y/N! Don’t tell me that you fell for him? This sorry excuse fo-Urk!”
          You cut him off with an attack of your own that sent him crashing into the coffin at the center of the room. He was mere centimeters away from the beam of sunlight streaming in from the window.
          “Don’t talk about Nori like that again, or I swear I’ll rip you limb from limb.” You growled.
         “Oho? I’d like to see you try.”
          With that, DIO lunged at you, claws fully prepared to rip your throat out. Hierophant’s coils wrapped around your waist and yanked you to the side and into the light of the window.
          You were safe for the moment while you powered up your Stand, but the sun was sinking fast, and you knew the light would only protect you for so long.
          “Quickly! Out the window!” Joseph yelled, slinging Avdol over his shoulder.
          Polnareff grabbed Iggy and dashed toward the window. Jotaro took Kakyoin and pulled him towards the exit. You leaped out the window and slid a bit before catching a ledge.
          You dropped the rest of the way and prepared to catch whoever was next. Joseph used Hermit Purple to lower Avdol into your waiting arms before jumping out himself, followed by Polnareff and Iggy, Jotaro, and finally, Kakyoin.
          Deciding it was easier to leave Avdol and Iggy behind, they were gently left in the arms of an SPW Foundation agent who was called to the scene just before you entered. The plan was to split up and attack DIO from both sides. Naturally, you were paired grouped with Kakyoin and Joseph.
          Kakyoin had managed to surround DIO with the 20-meter Radius Emerald Splash when it happened. You could tell DIO was about to use his Stand after he deflected another round of emeralds.
          As you felt your limbs go numb, you could only think of Kakyoin. You knew DIO was at the end of his patience with your beloved, and you doubted he would survive his next encounter with the vampire.
          You desperately didn’t want that to happen. You begged and pleaded with your body to move as DIO sauntered closer to Kakyoin. He raised his arm, fully intent upon piercing the stomach of the smaller male. Suddenly, something inside of you snapped.
          “Don’t touch him!” You roared.
          You managed to get between DIO and Kakyoin while the former was stunned by your newfound ability to move in stopped time. DIO hesitated but only slightly. At first, you couldn't feel anything. You could tell you were flying backward, but you weren’t sure from what. Then the pain hit you. It was a burning, ripping, throbbing pain in your stomach.
          You collided with a water tank on a roof behind you. You coughed up blood, and you started to lose feeling in your extremities. You thought you heard Kakyoin yell your name, but you weren’t sure. Everything sounded so far away under the water.
          You could feel something lift you up. You tried to focus your vision on who was touching you. You saw a patch of red and a blur of green. Struggling to make eye contact with lavender orbs, you realized it was Kakyoin. You could see he was crying and you knew you were too. You cried out as a sharp pain was pressed against your wound.
          “Y-Y/N, love.” He managed to stutter out as he tried to apply pressure to your wound. “No… You can’t-”
          “Hush, Nori.” You shushed him. “There’s no point. Listen to me. Keep living, keep fighting. Find love again. I can only hope and pray that you’ll be able to live without me. I’ll be waiting for you on the other side with open arms, but your ass better be over fifty.”
          You chuckled a little at your small joke. “I love you.” You barely managed to get out. You strained and pressed a kiss on his lips.
          The kiss was heavy and impossible to describe. You never imagined a kiss could feel this way, and you felt terrible for Kakyoin for having to continue living with the memory of this feeling.  You could feel your life force slipping away, and you noticed, while slow and painful, you were at peace. At peace with your actions, your choices, and those you loved. You thought back to your misadventures with the StarDust Crusaders and your time spent with the love of your life.
          The kiss broke, and Kakyin pressed his forehead to yours before whispering, “Ai shiteru,” as he felt your body go limp.
          Ask Noriaki Kakyoin about the Battle of Cairo, and he’ll swear the sky wept for the passing of his beautiful, strong, amazing, shining shield.
          Your funeral was on a grassy hill surrounded by trees outside of town. The whole community showed up. It was a heavy day upset by the obnoxious cheerfulness of the sky.
          Kakyoin shared tears with your mother and cried harder when he met your little sister. He threw his arms around her and couldn’t stop apologizing. She apologized, too, for making him feel the need to apologize. She was only eight years old and already acted so much like you.
          Those two never left each other's side that day. Kakyoin promised to never let anything happen to her, and she promised to never let him be sad again. Everyone cried when you were lowered into the ground. Avdol had to leave with Polnareff, and Jotaro allowed a single tear to trail down his cheek.
          As the sun started to droop, the members of your community begun to trickle away, only the Crusaders and your remaining family stayed.
Joseph clasped a hand on Kakyoin’s shoulder before leading a weeping Holly away down the hill, who came to thank you for going on this treacherous journey and sacrificing for her sake. Jotaro pulled the redhead into a full hug and patted his back, quietly offering his condolences before following his family. Iggy, who hadn’t gotten the chance to know you well but could still sense you were a good person, gently headbutted Kakyoin’s leg and refrained from rolling his eyes when he crouched down to pet him. Avdol and Polnareff later caught the teen in a group hug, apologizing for not being able to protect you.
Your mother came up to him last, with your little sister at her side. Kakyoi picked her up and accepted her tearful kiss to his cheek. Your mother embraced your beloved and promised there were no hard feelings and that she would always consider him her son.
Then, she too, made her way down the hill. There they sat, a heartbroken and devastated teen, and a lost and despaired child, clinging to each other like their lives depended on it. Kakyoin set your sister down before falling to his knees beside the freshly disturbed soil. Your sister wrapped her arms around him, comforting him. In a way, you were still there with him.
“Do you think she’s sleeping peacefully?” She asked out of the blue.
Kakyoin sniffed before responding. “I hate to say it, but I’m sure she’s harassing the man who killed her in the afterlife.”
“An afterlife well spent, I guess.”
Kakyoin chuckled at the thought of you tormenting DIO for the rest of eternity. Your mother called for your sister to return to her, leaving Kakyoin alone on the hilltop. He called out Hierophant Green to allow it to say goodbye. It curled up by the headstone and didn’t move.
Kakyoin sat on the ground and looked to the sky. The sun was now low in the air and was turning the atmosphere pinks. A Magenta Sunset, he noticed. He tensed as a strong wind blew across the hill, carrying with it a distinct and familiar smell. Kakyoin chuckled and raised his hand to let the wind wrap around it before whispering, “Ai Shiteru.”
          And all around him, the world repeated it.
19. wow, an update!
(prolly could’ve updated anytime between July (the last update for anything) and now but i think most people who stumble upon these lps realize i work during the summer and then spend fall/winter surviving university
so instead just insert a joke about a) it being over a year since polnareff’s revenge; b) the update coming on a Friday; or c) “wait you’re updating now that part five is a thing WAS THIS YOUR PLAN ALL ALONG”
Tumblr media
(The Submarine Route starts us off inside a shelter/Speedwagon Foundation base. The destination is Sundarbans, found somewhere to the southwest. It may be a bit of a doozy getting there.)
Tumblr media
(This is a bit annoying but does make some sense considering what the enemies are.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(There’s a few things we can buy. It’s always good to stock up. The bazooka launcher being there is hilarious to me because I just imagine Crash Bandicoot.)
Tumblr media
(We’re accompanied by Stroheim and Speedwagon. Stroheim will be there packing heat with all his weaponry,
Tumblr media
while Speedwagon mainly provides a supporting role while having a few attacks of his own.
Incidentally, you might be wondering, “Can the Submarine Route be done without running into Stroheim and/or Speedwagon? The answer is yes, actually: if you don’t befriend them, then you’ll be accompanied by two characters (allies/members of the SPW Foundation) named Galahad and Miriam, who fulfill a similar role to Stroheim and Speedwagon respectively.
They’re original characters in a sense, but are references to the SaGa series – of which this game has a lot of. I only vaguely know of the series but there’s some implications that they may even be the Galahad and Miriam from that game.)
Tumblr media
(The map is very large, so it’s not a bad idea to save from time to time. The Japanese wiki advises doing this, actually – especially after battles.
Fun fact: the BGM for this area is actually from SaGa 2 (AKA Final Fantasy Legend II). To be exact, it’s “The Legacy”.)
Tumblr media
(Most enemies will be at (L) range, so it can be quite annoying if you don’t have a Long-ranged Stand. They often do have weaknesses to some elemental attacks, so a Stand like Miracles would probably do fairly well here. Lastly: they have a fairly good chance at dropping Rations. Always nice to have.)
Tumblr media
(On rare occasions you’ll get some (S) range soldiers. Fleeing Soldiers are another enemy and they are very weak.)
Tumblr media
(From time to time you’ll run into Snipers. Supposedly they have a chance of one-shotting anyone they hit when they attack.)
Tumblr media
(Apparently these things have the equivalent of Shift Gear/Agility, which is a bit odd to imagin-
Tumblr media
-wow these choppers sure aren’t messing around)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(It’s been a while since I played this but I believe this is a fairly rare encounter. It’s also, at least for me, cause for an instant reset because there’s no way I’m winning a fight like this.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(While I haven’t gotten some good screenshots, it’s worth noting that you cannot control what your other party members do. For the most part their AI is fairly competent, though Stroheim does tend to burn through his low SP, mostly because he seems to prioritize using his bazooka launcher. And Speedwagon is – generally, unless you took the time to grind – just too low leveled that trying to grind levels for him here can turn into an exercise in frustration when he keeps getting KO’d…)
Tumblr media
(But if you have the patience for it, he’ll start carving out a nice niche for himself as a healer.
This is actually a pretty damn useful skill for Speedwagon to learn! Burn some SP to recover 50HP. If anything it cuts back on the items that you’ll have to use. You can just recover SP using bottled water if you’re like me and farmed up a lot.)
Tumblr media
(Also, at random intervals, bombs will fall from the sky and damage the party. You’ll also notice a small chopper sprite behind Emi. On the field will be those and tanks. Running into them procs an encounter.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(This is not Sundarbans (which is the town on the other side), but if you come here with a support Stand or Carpenters and talk to the doctor in the lower corner, you can choose to help out and spend a day to lose some bad karma.)
Tumblr media
(So, after battling through dozens of soldiers, fleeing from army machines and reaching Sundarbans, we find it has miraculously remained unharmed despite all the fighting.)
Tumblr media
(We need to head to Saudi Arabia, but we won’t be able to at this point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sundarbans may be at peace, but in the middle of a conflict zone like this? It is pretty strange.)
 (…So I’ll take some time to ramble on since I did some grinding. This isn’t strictly necessary, but I wanted to do it a) to show off some of the skills Speedwagon learns, and b) make things easier on myself for the rest of the route.
Tumblr media
Tanks are fairly uncommon encounters, but they are there. They come at (M) range and are apparently susceptible to electric and earth attacks as well as status effects (which gives some funny imagery at one point when I used Agent 3’s solo attack and got a nice ‘Tank (M) was sent flying!’), but it has a lot of HP and hits fairly hard. If you ask me, the G/Exp reward for beating them isn’t worth the effort. Likewise with the choppers.
Tumblr media
While raising Speedwagon’s levels, Stroheim got a couple as well. He has a high Power stat. Getting numbers like those, even if it’s a critical hit and not a regular attack, is still nice – and this is on the lower end of the damage variance! I’ve seen him dish out over 100+ damage when dealing critical hits.
Tumblr media
Speedwagon picks up some other skills. Kowtow is another status-inducing move, while Flamethrower is apparently a physical multi-target attack that unsurprisingly can set enemies on fire. First-Aid Kits are items that heal 250HP – it’s basically Ointment++. And we now have it as a skill. At this point, Emiko’s max HP is just a slight bit above that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fruits of grinding. If you use the Foot Soldiers for level grinding (and you will, because pretty much every other enemy is a pain in the ass on a first-time run) you’ll start stockpiling a lot of Rations. Not that that’s a bad thing when those soldiers aren’t going to be using them anymore.
In the next part, we’ll investigate Sundarbans a little more closely.)
It was not, in fact, my plan to update once the part 5 anime was confirmed.
I haven’t touched this game in a long while. It’s nice to revisit it and even do some updates. I mostly started doing lps as a way to practice writing/commentating/quipping, although I can’t deny I always get some fuzzy feels when someone likes them. (I had a few asks and mentions on an irc chat I’m part of wondering if/when I’d ever update this or play another rom hack...)
I dabbled a bit with the demo for Fate is Unbreakable as well and I’m really looking forward to that.
*queues next update for one year later*
Okay, so at the end I decided to do refs for my JJBA main OCs but in chibi ;v; I wanted to add them to my reference masterpost but it would be even more long that it’s already, so better separately TvTb
Click on them for better view!!
HC and comments under the cut!
Battle Tendency:
The first one is the main outfit of Rafaella.
The second one is her alternative outfit.
The third one is the one she used in her dates with Caesar, a more formal outfit with a matching cloche hat and black evening gloves. Also, in this one, she had a slightly darker lipstick.
The last one is another alternative outfit for winter times, like when she moved with Mina to Genoa.
Stardust Crusaders:
The first one is the one Karina uses since her first appareance in Singapore (ep.8) until she left momentarily the gang for looking after Avdol (ep.11). Also, during the first moments, she used make-up to hide her birthmarks, but she showed them since Joseph didn’t recognize her at first, and she didn’t hide them anymore since then.
The second one, her main outfit, is the one she wears since she returns with the crusaders in Karachi (ep. 16) until the end (ep. 39).
The third one is the one she uses as pijama during the journey. Her braid more loose than usual for more comfort (she ends up with her hair untied in the morning anyways) and no make-up at all.
Diamond is Unbreakable:
Karina is just a minor character in DiU so she wears only this outfit during all her appareances. The outfit Rosa wears in this with her mother is the one she wears in their first appareance (ep. 13), also in a little appareance at the end of ep. 22 when everyone reunites after... well..., and in the last episode.
The second one is the one Rosa wears when she met Reimi, since she was with Koichi that day (ep. 17).
Rosa wears the third outfit in ep. 27 and during a briefly apparence in ep. 26.
The last one is the one she wears during eps 31 and 32 when confronting  Kanedaichi and Super Fly.
Stone Ocean:
Karina only has a briefly appareance during ch.75 when confronting the SPW Foundation for letting Rosa go to a dangerous mission.
Rosa’s first outfit is the one she uses since her first appareance in ch. 62 until ch.95, since she went to Green Dolphin Street Jail to help Jolyne disguised as a guard.
The next one is the one she wears after her re appareance in ch.103 when she parts with Weather and Annasui, until her death.
The last outfit is the one she wears after the events of SO in the Nobody Dies AU in which she lost her left arm against Pucci instead of dying, so she has now a prosthetic arm due to this. She rarely wears the SPWF uniform even if she’s an agent,but she wears a clip with its symbol that was a gift from Esther. Also this is the outfit she would wear in canon before the events of SO but without the prosthetic arm ofc.
Nobody Dies AU (After SDC):
The fist one is the one she normally uses, so yes, you can say her main outfit in this AU.
When her belly started to grow she uses the second one for more comfort.
The third one is her wedding dress! She wasn’t sure about it cos her scar is visible but Avdol told her that she was pretty anyways. Suzi Q did her hair.
Last pic is an alt hairstyle she wears in between the SDC braid and the DiU braided ponytail. She would wear it during 1990 -1996 aprox.
Miscellaneous (aka secondary characters):
Mina’s and Juan’s outfits in SDC.
Billie’s outfits in both AU!after BT and AU!SDC.
Juan is 190cm, so that’s why he looks so much taller (even in chibi) in comparison with Mina and Billie who are both around 165cm.
