i think a big part of why shadow likes teddy back is cuz of teddy's confidence tbh. like, historically, whenever shadow hasn't known what's going on or what do to, he follows the most confident person in the room (even if that person is a freaky black alien with a giant eyeball).

so, when shadow's having his teen boy hallmark moment(TM) and attempting to navigate this whole romance thing, he feels comforted by teddy and his self-assuredness. cuz teddy's whole thing is love! if teddy was any less experienced, shadow would probably be unwilling to engage in it.

just cuz, shadow doesn't know what he's doing, right? so, if teddy ALSO didn't know what he was doing, then it would be this whole mess of hesitancy and cringe and shadow has an ego to tend to, you know! i can't imagine he'd be thrilled about looking foolish.

shadow is willing to try new things like holding teddy's hand precisely because there's none of that awkwardness. of course, teddy still gets flustered sometimes, but overall, his main concern is making shadow happy... and while shadow may still be new to this, he can't deny how much easier it is to smile when he's with teddy

We were already pretty damn lucky to have Jim back for the second movie given how he normally feels about sequels, so the script for the third movie must really be good

I still can't believe this happened. They casted one of the most well-known actors on a live action adaptation of a videogame he never heard of , and instead of phoning it in, he got weirdly attached to the project and developed such a deep understanding of his character despite doing zero research.

And apparently he finds that character and his evolution compelling enough to not only break his "no sequels" rule, but to go back from retirement to play him a third time.
