i’m so obsessed with the way nova garon in survivor is build in total opposition to ilum in jfo (spoilers incoming) even though they come at the same point in the story / game and they both serve as a changing point in cal’s perspective while also making him face the past and how he chooses to continue the jedi legacy / cere’s legacy

right before he steps out of the mantis in jfo he says “it’s time i find out who i am” and ends the ilum section more powerful and certain and centered than ever; on the other hand, right after nova garon his character seems so lost and conflicted after experiencing the dark side. the exact opposite, he loses himself in the rage and the pain caused by bode and everything that happened on jedha.

and it’s such an amazing way to indirectly come back to cere’s warning - “we will always struggle, but that is the test” - because in order to remain true to himself cal must come to terms with what happened and accept that, accept his reaction, accept his failure and push forward for the bigger mission cere had, continue her legacy (legacy being such a major theme on ilum too).

remember at the beginning of tkm, right after andrew gets discharged? neil is grabbing his binder from the car and he accidentally bumps into andrew. do you remember what he thinks?

okay, now i want you to think back to the library scene in trk, when neil’s talking to nicky. nicky is telling him about erik, and why he loves him. it’s a really sweet scene.

but do you remember what nicky likes so much about him?

“He's stronger than I am, and I like that. I feel like I could lean on him all day and he wouldn't break a sweat.”

we’ve all seen the posts calling neil oblivious for not realizing anything about his and andrew’s relationship. this isn’t one of those, just so you’re all aware.

but i think it’s so sweet that neil, before he ever had any romantic feelings for andrew, was using the same descriptions that nicky uses for erik.

nicky and erik, who are so in love. erik, who nicky trusts completely.

andrew and neil didn’t have any sort of relationship yet. it wasn’t even a thought in neil’s head. but you know what they did have?
