Some of the beautiful illustrations by S.D. Schindler from Brother Hugo and the Bear by Katy Beebe.

The book is based on two real medieval figures: Hugo, a scribe who added a self-portrait (pictured above) to the end of his copy of Jerome's Commentaries on Isaiah, and a bear who appears in a letter from the abbot of Cluny Abbey to a neighboring abbot asking to borrow a copy of The Letters of St. Augustine, "for a large part of ours has been accidentally eaten by a bear."

I definitely think that middle-aged Steve with his first iPhone would find out be taught by his twelve-year-old how to change his lockscreen, and promptly changed it to a selfie that Robin took with Steve and Eddie's seven-year-old daughter Hazel (because he likes it and it's a good picture and it makes him smile and who the hell gives a shit about what his lockscreen is, anyways?)

Eddie sees this a few weeks later and, unsurprisingly, he has things to say about it.

Eddie: …….You know, people probably see that and think Robin is your wife.

Eddie: And your kids’ mom.

The moment I laid eyes on @madfantasy 's Severus I thought "that's him".

Inevitably, after a lot of indecision and pondering if I should sort out my priorities instead, I gave myself a little treat and ordered my very first art comission 🥰

What I wanted was for the artwork to convey the feeling of home.

Not a place, but a person.

Absolute calmness, quietude and safety.

In this artwork, Severus is calm, his mind is tranquil, and he is comforting as much as he is being comforted.💚

I have no words to express how Mani is such a professional and kind-hearted artist. I have sent (probably too many) guidelines, body position references, art references and written requests (I was a nightmare). And you know what? Every single one of them were attended and merged into something that translates into pure tenderness.
