james would be the kind of dad that everyone thinks is like the super chill one, but in reality he’s kinda overprotective and just a bit controlling because well you have to be consistent with children everyone knows that.
meanwhile, no one expect regulus to even raise his kids himself, but he’s always the one that breaks as soon as one of his kids pulls out the puppy dog eyes.
like i see it being a very common conversation in the potter household once harry’s born, just “reg, did you let harry have biscuits before dinner again?” “james, look our son in the eyes, and tell me if you can say no to that face” *harry immediately puts on his best innocent expression trying to help his papa out* and james just has to shake his head and resign himself to being the disciplinary one for the next 17 years.

invades ur inbox again............ ur post abt the baby not being the yans inspired me, what if reader was pregnant but it was their baby ? :3
listen, i don't want kids, but there are some fictional men out there that give me baby fever like never before </3
Tumblr media
Warning: this post contains yandere-themes, delusional behaviors, obsessive behaviors, mentions of reader being pregnant and giving birth, and other potential topics. Please read at your own risk!
Yandere!Pantalone would be thrilled but also a bit hesitant to have a kid. His position as a Harbinger makes him a high value target and thus you by association. He does his best, buying out all the best doctors he can find across Teyvat to watch over your pregnancy and ensure there are no complications. Anything you need or crave or ask for, he’ll have for you.
Pantalone sighed in relief as he entered the room, you had been quite restless these past few days, feet swelling to the point you couldn’t walk, but you had finally settled enough to lay down for a nap. The stress of pregnancy was tough on anyone and he did his best to help soothe the pains, help fulfill every craving, and reassure every worry. Everything he could do to help make things a little easier on you he wasted no time in completing. When it came for check ups and any other medical care, he made sure the best of the best were always readily available for you. He wanted to ensure nothing happened to you or your child, as not only was that the heir to his fortune, but a part of him growing in you. This child would tie you to him forever.
Yandere!Diluc while keeping calm on the outside would be absolutely freaking out on the inside. He doesn’t know how to be a father, he couldn’t even be a good brother! He’ll spend his free time reading up on first time parenting books, paying closer attention to the mothers who pass by with their kids as he tries to pick up on some subtle parenting tricks.
Diluc sighed as he absentmindedly wiped at the same glass he had been cleaning for the past twenty minutes. Just outside the tavern, right in view were a mother and her child. The child was throwing and fit in the middle of the walkway and the mother was trying to calm him. The noise wasn’t a problem, the walls of the tavern were pretty thick, it was just the thought that Diluc would be in that position one day soon. His own child pitching a fit over some small, ridiculous thing while he flounders about, desperately trying to find any solution to the incessant crying. Thinking back to his beloved, who was currently at home under strict bed rest orders, and he longed to see them. To lay beside them in bed, retelling all the bizarre things he’d seen out the window of the tavern today, discussing what kinds of parents they wanted to be and how they would handle it.
Yandere!Zhongli is thrilled, inside and out, to be a father. While he’s lived for many years and has been a role model to many, he’s never had a proper child of his own. He of course maintains a calm and level head, but you’ll see him visiting the shops in town more often, chatting with the older women about his soon-to-be child and asking advice.
Zhongli smiled at the older woman as he picked a few flower arrangements for you, being stuck inside the house all day could be so drab, he hoped to brighten your day up even if just a little. It was no secret around town anymore that the handsome gentleman was a father-in-waiting, and with everything he talked about with the lovely women who helped their husbands run stalls for many years, it was clear he had a good grasp on what to do. Zhongli was more than just an esteemed gentleman with stunning looks, he was an intelligent and strong partner, the perfect type to raise a child with. His darling boss Hu Tao even offered to give him reduced shifts for a few months when it got close to birth and after so that he could be there to help with the first few months.

The perfect child. (Sully family x reader)
Y/n…the perfect child who they say would never burn out…
You see, Y/n was a perfectionist, always striving for her parents approval, always wanting more and she was always told to do everything right. She’s the oldest after all.
Jake was strict on Y/n and Neytiri was very gentle and loving. A mothers love was like no other. Now…Neytiri loved both of her older daughters but there was always something broken between the two…she treated both the same but it couldn’t be said Jake did.
He was encouraging and gentle towards Kiri, it made her learn quicker, faster and stronger. His teachings with his eldest were harder, faster, tiring. In his mind Y/n was supposed already be perfect…that’s all he wanted. Neytiri saw it as him trying to make a monster out of her, someone who would go farther than they could imagine to protect their children…but she was their child as well..? So if he handed off the responsibility to Y/n, she’d take it right off and comfort her.
They have fought many times on the topic of the way he raised the boys and Y/n…she was there for most of the arguments and she always watched from a far blinking away tears.
*flashback*
Earlier that day Y/n and Neteyam were going head to head on who’s the better warrior but Jake had given Neteyam better tasks to ensure he’d succeed more compared to Y/n.
When Neteyam won, Jake ripped into how Y/n had little mistakes. Neytiri pulled him into their home and ripped at him soon after…
“I mean really Jake, Y/n fought her heart out and the only thing you cared about was picking on the little things when she had already done her harder tasks perfectly.”
“Because she always gets frustrated easily if she doesn’t do good, she needs to be perfect otherwise who’s keeping her to be stronger against the world?”
“You put all of her siblings and people against her! That little girl is mortified all the time but you don’t care! How about being a “role model”? I have heard you say to Kiri, to a little nine year old girl, ‘y/n won’t be happy for you. she’s jealous of you’”
“She is! I don’t understand why we argue on this. Y/n turns off immediately when it comes to anyone who had shown they are better and she needs to stop.”
“You have sabotaged our daughter and the rest of the kids! Our children aren’t soldiers and you will not put them against each other!”
“Y/n is talented I’ll give you that but she needs someone to keep her humble and perfect! She is practically the future of this clan and if she makes a mistake the whole clan is going to talk about it."
-*
He wasn’t fully wrong…When Y/n failed it’s either she’d let the frustrated tears fall, or blink them away. However when Y/n finished her challenges her father was the first person she looked for, he would tell her what she still needed to work on. She felt like she needed to hear the truth, that’s what she was always used to.
In hindsight it was very sad for Neytiri to see how desperate Y/n was for her father approval. And it was equally sad to see how desperate Jake was for him to be in control of Y/n and her perfection. He would constantly put Y/n on a pedestal in public knowing it would put more weight on her.
Jake had many ways to make Y/n feel sick, it wasn’t his intentions but it felt that way.
*flashback*
8 year old Y/n was about to sing and dance in front of the clan, she was fully calm while her mother painted her face until Y/n noticed her dad beginning to approach her.
“Hey y/n!”
Y/n walked up to him as well and gave him a hug.
“Are you ready to be the best?”
Y/n swayed back and forth as she felt the nervousness come back up
“…I don’t know”
“Just be good. Don’t worry about anyone else.”
“I won’t! You make me nervous when you say that!”
“Do good!”
“Ok bye!”
Y/n tried to push her father out kindly, feeling overwhelmed.
“Go.”
Y/n gave a nervous smile at what her father slightly rushing her to be good
“You go! Please.”
“Ok I’ll let you go! Do good!”
The young girl walked back and Neytiri can tell the change in her emotions
“Are you alright?”
“Yea!”
Neytiri looked sideways at her daughter to get more answers
“…he just makes me nervous.”
Y/n sat quietly sick to her stomach while Neytiri kept painting feeling the same way her daughter was.
-*
For my loved ones I’d kill and I’d die for them. No hesitation. The nervousness went away once I had to protect and defend..I have…killed before. There was a day where the sky people entered in a forbidden part of the forest one where my siblings weren’t supposed to be.
*flashback*
There was red coming from two of the men I had killed while I turned to my siblings who were probably hidden in the forest. I didn’t hesitate, I had came out as soon as a gun was drawn…my blood ran cold. I called out for them once the coast was clear and when they came out they looked horrified.
“Im so sorry you had to see that. You aren’t supposed to be in this part of the forest you know that, we must leave now.”
They had already radioed my parents when I had finished oh…the look in my mothers eyes broke me.
They had fear. Fear for my siblings and I.
I was covered in red blood, and scars. I couldn’t even focus…I was so scared by what I had just done. My mind couldn’t remember it, I just went blank.
When my father went up to me slowly with a sly smile..
“Y/n you went on to become the greatest child warrior pandora has ever known. No one can match you efficiency, your ruthlessness!”
I felt sick to my stomach…I was only a child.
My mother rushed to hug me comforted me and repeatedly apologized…it wasn’t even her fault.
“Mother it’s ok! Truly, I just did what needed to be done. I handled it well and protected my siblings. ‘My siblings, my responsibility’. I’m fine.”
Y/n held her mother while she cried…Y/n just comforted her mom instead and blinked away her tears.
-*
No one knew how insecure i felt…how disappointed i was in myself. I was unsure if I was even good or bad…I felt like a monster but at the same time I thrived off of the praise my father sent my way for saving my siblings. I didn’t want to play this part but i would all for him. And this week was absolutely the hardest of them all.
*day one*
Lo’ak, Neteyam and I were all training! Yesterday my father had me learn more about healing next to Kiri as one of my tasks however I couldn’t beat her to it, not when my father was watching…piercing his eyes right through me.
Once we were done he lined me up with the boys and told us what needed to be achieved by the end of the week.
“You three are to start spotting next week. I don’t want anyone here that is not focus or achieving what they’re told. If you do good it makes us look better..Y/n you didn’t do as good at healing, you’re sister beat you so you failed. It doesn’t look good for us. Let me ask this question to all of you. How many of you are training when we aren’t together?”
Y/n looked down at her fathers degrading words disappointed that she didn’t beat Kiri. She nodded to her fathers question saying
“I do..”
Jake rolled his eyes and began losing his patience at the child who couldn’t land what she was told right, lately.
“Well…get off your butt, walk over to your grandmother and train for healing instead!”
Y/n immediately looked away blinking away pained tears…she was tired already, just the night before she stayed up training so she could be ready for the harsh week to come.
Jake spoke again..
“That’s your fault!…don’t embarrass me and do it right. Now go back to training.”
Y/n walked away while her two younger brothers watched her, they later had a conversation..
!Away from Y/n!
“Bro did you see how much Y/n wanted to cry? She’s always good at everything, I don’t know why she cries! She’s the favorite!”
“There's always pressure on Y/n, I mean she wants to please our parents. She can't go to training and be anything but perfect."
Lo’ak rolled his eyes at his brothers statement.
“No duh! But cmon bro you got to admit that sometimes Y/n tries too hard for dad’s approval!”
Now it was Neteyam’s turn to roll his eyes
“She’s the eldest, she needs to be perfect. In dad’s eyes she can be fumbling with her future and it’s not looking good for the family if she isn’t perfect.”
-*
*day three*
Since the day before Y/n spent the whole time training with her grandmother Jake made Kiri and her do an actual competition against each other on who can do stitching and healing ointments better.
Kiri was eager to beat the “perfect child” while Y/n was anxious and determined to prove her father that she has gotten better…she has no chance in winning, she was going against someone who only ever trained for healing while Y/n trained for everything in such little time.
Both of the children did well but Kiri ultimately won. Despite the win Y/n hugged Kiri and told her she’s a good healer. Jake hugged Kiri speaking words that Y/n wished was given to her.
“Even if you had the worlds biggest crown I wouldn’t be any Prouder of you than I am right now!”
The eldest child’s heart was left to yearn for her fathers love, inside she was crying for more than just being ignored. If Y/n won she was ok but if she lost she failed at everything. She didn’t understand his game anymore.
-*
*day four*
What Neytiri never knew was how Jake sometimes encouraged Y/n to break Neytiri’s instructions to Y/n. For example when Neytiri noticed her tiredness while Y/n was helping prep food and told her to take a break from training.
Y/n took a break just like Neytiri told her and when Jake walked into the room where Y/n was watching Tuk with small tears falling because she was panicking inside knowing her father would be upset at her.
“Y/n I want to talk to you.”
Y/n got up and walked past her siblings who had heard and felt how upset Jake was at Y/n
“What’s going on? Why were you not at training and then you were crying?”
“I was crying because training is my safe space but I was just tire-“
Jake cut her off while Y/n nervously played with her hands, hold back tears.
“Nu-uh! Every opportunity I have given you, came from my heart. That was awful Y/n. I don’t deserve that, I didn’t deserve any of it. There’s always another kid, there’s always somebody else. We love you. We were ready to work with you and you sat at home!”
Jake’s hurt expression made Y/n feel worse and she began crying at the pain and disappointment she caused.
“I’m sorry.”
“Why didn’t you get out of our home and tell your mother no I’m going to training!”
“I’m so sorry”
“That’s not going to cut it. It’s gonna take a long time for you to be better.”
When the family was ready to head to bed Neytiri saw Y/n’s bed empty she looked around to see the child sleeping with dried tears in a corner of a cushion where she had previously been watching Tuk. Neytiri shook her head and covered the child with a blanket knowing how stressed Y/n was.
-*
*day five*
The whole family went to a secluded place to do training. Neytiri watched Tuk until she heard Kiri tell her heartbreaking news
“dad won’t refer to Y/n by her name. He keeps calling her ‘that girl’ or ‘her’ or ‘she.”
Neytiri turned her head to face her other children and husband.
“You! Girl in the front move to the center.”
She sighed to her husband’s teaching methods. This was his way of punishing Y/n and making her do more work to make him ‘remember her name’
Neytiri called for a break and pulled Y/n away
“What’s going on my child you don’t see happy”
“He just says girl, he doesn’t even say my name.”
Y/n embraced the hug Neytiri gave her before telling Y/n it’s ok and to go back…this time Neytiri watched from afar.
“you were gone for a day! Not a year.”
Neytiri shakes her head and got up to pull Jake
“Our daughter has a name. She has a name Jake and you better stop holding a grudge.”
Jake came back to the children and began calling Y/n by her name. Neytiri protected her.
-*
*day 7*
Father has had me training all week and all day! I barley get any rest time, in fact I’m currently walking to where we train. It’s safer to say flying with my ikran would not have been a good idea, my tired body would bring me down with her. I was so exhausted and I felt so heavy, my heart was sinking into blackness as well as my eyes. Everything went black as I fell to the floor..
When I had woken up, I was terrified. Not because it was already eclipse or because i had fainted from exhaustion…it was because of my father. I have never done this before and I was supposed to be there to train. I ran my way back home, using up all the little energy I restored and opened my home to see my panicked family.
My father rushed to me and grabbed me by my shoulders searching for any wounds.
“I’m sorry sir, this won’t happen-“
“Damn right it won’t! You know how important training is Y/n. You will be leader of this clan soon! You must act like it. You do not show up late, you don’t act stupid, this is not ok…”
My father words began getting blurry as he yelled in my face about what I should’ve been doing instead and my body began feeling sick once again…I felt like I was drowning and my breaths were getting shorter. I can see my mothers mad face turn into worry as she slightly pushes my dad away from me.
“Y/n what’s wrong?”
I don’t know. I’m unable to speak back and I drop to my knees. My lungs felt closed up and I was struggling to catch a breath. I had tears in my eyes while my mother began talking again
“It’s ok Y/n. You’re ok. I’m here. Breath my child.”
Once my breathing got back to normal my mother allowed me to tell the story and urged me to get checked by grandmother…she didn’t allow my father to keep on yelling at me.
-*
*day 8*
My grandmother explained that I was just having attacks and that I’d be ok! Today the clan had a dancing ceremony, I wasn’t feeling well so I opted out on joining…until my father told the clan that I’d be joining the dance later that night.
I couldn’t say ‘no’. Not when my father talked up my name…I didn’t want to let him down.
The time for me to dance in the ceremony was coming and my nerves were so high..as I was walking to where the crowd can see me I can hear my dad
“Focus.”
“Represent.”
the pressure got worse from then but I pushed it away.
The clan began singing and dancing but I knew all eyes were on me…I was in the center and I felt my breathing feel heavy again…then suddenly I forgot the dance.
My couldn’t hold the fake smile and I ran off to go to the side where no one can see me.
I was begging for anyone to just help me.
“No! No! No! My father is going to freak out on me…I want to go again….I’ve never done this before. Can I please go again? Please!..please! My fathers going to hate me.”
Neytiri rushed to Y/n hugging her and pulling her away from the ceremony and fellow navis who had been there eyes widened to the visibly panicked child.
“My fathers going to hate me!”
“No he’s not Y/n.”
“He’s going to hate me! I’ve never done this…I’ve never done this.”
Neytiri wasn’t fully surprised that Y/n forgot her dance. Jake and her both put way to much pressure on Y/n. She was just 15 years old. Every single week and day she had to do tasks, train and protect everyone. If something wasn’t done correctly Jake would pinch at it all. Neytiri knew when to calm her down but Jake wanted Y/n to be his perfect child…he didn’t care that he was going to burn the kid out.
“I can’t breathe…I can’t breathe.”
Neytiri pulled Y/n down to sit calming her down more before she flew her back to their home.
“y/n you’re having anxiety and your father gets you so nervous. It’s ok. You are safe my child.”
Y/n was so afraid of her father it was killing her inside..Neytiri completely didn’t know what to do. Y/n loved training but her father was beginning to make her hate it. Once everyone arrived home Neytiri sent her and the rest of the kids out to do something. She didn’t fail to notice how Jake went to go up to Y/n and her breath hitched..like she was breathing in her last final breath.
“Go outside and play all of you!”
Neytiri looked at Jake directly in the eyes infuriated.
“We need to talk. You’re incredibly rude to Y/n you need to treat her with more respect.”
“I do! It’s just that when you are in the picture she looks at you.”
“Because she is afraid of you.”
“She goes completely blank. It’s like she’s competing with you and me. She’s a great kid but she looks at you with one eye, and she gets weak.”
“All she does is feel like she fails! You set her up to fail!”
“She’s the greatest her in the division, what do you not understand?”
“You have gone backstage before performances or challenges and have said ‘be like Kiri or Neteyam!’ Who does that to their child?!”
“Why wouldn’t she want to be like them? They are great.”
“Because Y/n doesn’t need to be like them Y/n is Y/n and that is good enough.”
“For who?!”
“For her.”
“Not for you.”
“Yes it it!”
“Then why are you pushing this idea that I set her up to fail?!”
“Because you knew she was sick and you threw her in there and humiliated our daughter.”
“I didn’t humiliate her! She did it herself when she forgot the dance.”
Neytiri couldn’t hear it anymore she began crying.
"Our daughter has been a wreck all week! And now she's having these attacks because she is afraid of you. And Afraid of what you are going to do it her! And you're allowing this with the relationship that you have with our kids and me! And it breaks my heart it is horrible!”
Jake grew silent while he saw his wife break right in front of him…
“I don’t think you get it! She’s tired! Tired of trying to be perfect for everyone, tired of training, tired of doing tasks. You just know the act she puts on! The ‘perfectness’ it’s done. You are hurting our daughter. Our children. Who’s next? Neteyam? Lo’ak? Kiri? You can not keep doing this to our children.”
Tears began falling from Jake’s eyes as he begins replaying old memories of how Y/n was treated…she was just a kid..how could he fix this?..
!💓!
Hope you enjoyed I just did this on the side because I’m trying to get to her stories done but I needed a breather 😊
P.S: Jake manipulating Y/n and isolating her slightly while Y/n didn’t realize really broke me! It was very obvious in the way he made her feel bad about obeying her mothers orders. She felt a lot of pressure and had many panic attacks during her childhood. This was just the first time anyone has seen it because it all became too much. She had such a strong passion for being a fierce warrior but her fathers harsh teachings is making it hard for her to enjoy the ‘hobby’ again. :(

oh wait I meant like yan Scott and Remy work, but this time reader will be their yandere protégé
🖤 anon
𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐑 𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐓𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐘 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐆𝐄…
!!! GN reader, manipulation, Scott and Remy can’t agree how to parent mentor you, reader is little sibling-coded, mentions of physical affection, clothing thief reader, overprotectiveness, separation anxiety, they try to set boundaries with you.
Tumblr media
RAAAAAAAAA, RATTLING THE BARS OF MY ENCLOSURE RIGHT NOW.
Poor fellas… don’t even know what they’re in for. The strict dad and chill uncle dynamic is back, but now with a dash of weirdo younger sibling! Again, completely uncoordinated. They lowkey sound like your two divorced dads who are trapped in a never ending custody battle over you and they don’t even realize it.
(YOU’RE SUCH A LITTLE SHIT ABOUT IT, TOO. Scott will tell you to stop climbing something, and you’ll hit him with a, “Gambit lets me climb things,” and he gets so pissed off, it’s hilarious. Then a very disgruntled Remy will track you down after suffering through a lecture about being a responsible role model, and you’re pretending to be completely innocent. “I didn’t say anything at all! I have no clue what you’re talking about!”)
But anyways. Because they’re lowkey kinda focused on undoing each other’s influence on you, there’s a huge grace period where you can essentially get away with anything. Want Scott to give you words of affirmation? Pretend to act insecure the next time Remy teases you. Want Remy to take you out for sweets? Insinuate that Scott’s been really harsh lately. If you play your cards right, you’ll have them wrapped around your finger based solely on their opposing mentoring tactics. Just remember that subtly is key; they’re extremely perceptive. Use this mainpulation tactic sparingly to keep their suspicions low.
For any sort of psychical affection, you’re gonna have to play the long game. I highly recommend going the little sibling route. Both of them have a soft spot for that endearing naïveté, so of course Scott has to give you head-pats while Remy teasingly uses you as an arm rest. It also provides a good justification for you constantly going in for hugs and hanging onto their arms. Yeah, they may find it a little weird at first, but you only do it cuz you look up to them, right? With enough time, they’ll begin to reciprocate your touches, maybe even going as far as giving cuddles!! You may find it easier to coax Remy into cuddling than Scott, though that’s not to say Dadclops cuddles are out of the question!! Scott’s just trying to maintain his professionalism (booooo, so lame).
Honestly, I think you can get away with stealing their clothes. Definitely not by going into their rooms or anything (especially Remy’s; you can’t convince me that man doesn’t have his room boobytrapped from hell and back), but they’ll practically hand you their sweatshirts or jackets for free if you act even the slightest bit cold. Just don’t expect to keep Remy’s favorite trench-coat. He’ll let you wear it, but he’s shaking you out of it like a carpet when he wants it back. Other than that, everything else is free game. Enjoy your forever growing collection! Use it well, use it wisely (i.e. making a nest on your bed. Obviously).
It doesn’t take long to figure out that Scott folds under the power of puppy eyes. As long as you keep up good behavior, you can basically wring anything out of him with the right amount of pleading. You want him to carry you around the mansion? Well… that’s a bit strange, but you’re such a little sweetheart, so maybe just this once. Meanwhile, trying to hit Remy with the puppy eyes is like hitting a brick wall. “Nice try, petit, but y’gonna have to try harder than that to convince Gambit.” Luckily for you, he doesn’t really question things as much as Scott does. You could throw yourself into his arms and he’d be like… oh, okay. Guess we’re doing this now. Cool.
If you’re the overprotective type, missions will be absolute hell for your anxiety. It’s hard to watch both of their backs at the same time when Remy usually goes off to do his own thing. You may find yourself choosing to stick by whoever looks more vulnerable, or even bouncing between the two periodically. This doesn’t go unnoticed by Scott, who will try to talk some sense into you. He appreciates the concern, but you can’t keep going off mission like this. He’ll even enlist the help of Remy, who reassures you that there’s nothing to worry about. He and Scott know what they’re doing!
That’s when you pull out the crocodile tears. You can’t help it!! You’re just worried!! What if something happens to one of them? They’re like your big brothers… you don’t want to lose them!!
If anyone say your sly smile while they each separately give you a reassuring hug, no they didn’t.
So, Scott sort of relents. You’re still expected to follow through with missions, but he at least makes sure you’re stationed near Remy or himself to help ease your worry a bit. They’d be lying if they said the extra cover wasn’t helpful. As long as you give enough room for Scott to make orders and Remy to be flashy, they’ll get used to your protective presence.
(“Slim and the Cajun got themselves a loyal guard dog,” says Wolverine.)
I think they’d eventually meet with each other to talk about your behavior. You’re obviously super attached to both of them — almost to an uncomfortable degree — and they’re not really sure what to do about it. They may not see eye to eye on most things, but they at least agree they both care about your well-being. Whatever this is… it’s unhealthy.
For now, they kind of settle on separation anxiety as the cause. It may not explain all of your weird behaviors, but it at least explains why you’re in absolute shambles when either one or both of them are away on a mission while you’re stuck at the manor. They figure the best course of action is to accommodate for you… which unfortunately means working together. Who would’ve guessed the uptight Scott and reckless Remy would actually work together?
Finally they’ve got some sort of coordination going on. As mentor-figures to you, they’ve gotta make sure you’re taken care of… without feeding into your weird behaviors (little do they know, giving you any sort of attention is already feeding into your weird behaviors). Expect them to start setting boundaries, still letting you do certain things while softly explaining why you can’t do certain things. Manipulation tactics really start to lose their edge now, so you’re shit out of luck if that was your main tool.
But don’t get discouraged!! Remember that they’re still trying to accommodate for you! If one’s away from the manor, you get to spend the entire day with the other!! While they may not be as effective as before, puppy eyes still work on Scott, and it’s not like Remy will stop being so lax anytime soon. You can get what you want out of them separately with careful enough plays.
Overall, I really like the idea of Scott and Remy slowly realizing overtime that something may be wrong with their little protégé. They don’t wanna believe it, but they’ll eventually have to face the unfortunate truth as this goes on.

Some Edgar & Sabin headcanons because I love them. If they make a FFVI remake I hope we get more dialogue and have side quests relating to each of the characters, I just think every one of them is so interesting and I’d like to see them each get more time to shine.
Edgar
- He is the furthest thing from a morning person. Unfortunately during the plot of FFVI saving the world generally required getting up before it was even light out. He would much rather get up at 8 and spend until 9 waking up and getting ready. But alas, duty calls.
- Also definitely has the WORST bedhead. I imagine him having fairly thick hair that’s straight but has enough of a wave to it that it makes it time consuming to do in the morning. That and he just cares about looking presentable so he doesn’t cut any corners.
- He loves spending time on his appearance not because of vanity but just because he enjoys it as a form of self expression. He canonly enjoys decorating his room so I can see spending time choosing outfits and jewelry for himself as an extension of that.
- Terra was enslaved to work for the Empire, Locke is a thief, and Sabin is a monk…. This leaves Edgar as the person funding everything. Which he doesn’t mind in the least, money and treasure doesn’t mean much to him. His friends being healed up, fed, well-equipped, and well-rested means much more to him.
- He’s also very good at caring for people when they’re sick! Because Sabin was sick so often when they were younger he spent a lot of time learning how to care for him and all sorts of folk medicine. He can be a little over worried and over bearing with it at times but he means well.
- At the beginning of FFVI he’s very pale because he spends so much time inside and doesn’t really have any free time. Sabin for sure teases him about this and by the end of FFVI his skin tone is closer to Sabin’s and his hair is lighter because he’s actually getting some sun. Aka, Gerad looks different than Edgar because he’s just Edgar after being in the sun.
Sabin
- The biggest morning person ever, unlike Edgar. He gets up far before anyone else to get ready and train a little before the day starts.
- He also probably has pretty bad bedhead too considering Edgar and him are twins, but it doesn’t matter as much because his hairstyle is pretty messy to begin with. He just throws it in a ponytail and calls it a day.
- He HATES asking Edgar for things (or anyone, but especially Edgar). Knowing that Edgar already sacrificed so much by becoming the king of Figaro to let Sabin go off and have whatever life he wanted, he feels bad asking Edgar for anything more.
- He still gets sick easily, but not nearly as easily and as badly as when he was younger. He also never admits that he’s sick and tries to hide it. You basically have to beg him to rest when he is.
- He actually enjoys being a little bit dressed up but doesn’t because it’s inconvenient with his fighting style and he strictly limits his material possessions to what is necessary. He does wear different bows that Edgar gives him and occasionally small earrings. (I imagine Edgar loves dressing Sabin up too so the bows were completely his idea and bypass Sabin not wanting to ask him for anything).
- Actually the best parental figure to Gau, he probably models his parenting style mostly after Duncan. He’s very kind and surprisingly patient but also very strict at times, which works well with Gau. He also probably gets advice from Cyan. I could write a whole different post about just Sabin and Gau.
- I imagine the world of final fantasy 6 is actually made up of a few different languages, with one standardized language that is none of the characters first language but is built to make communication easy. Or maybe it would be the first language of people in the Empire, because I can see that being one of their grand pursuits or something. Anyway, this applies to Edgar and Sabin because I can see them talking in whatever Figaro’s language would be called when they want to talk privately but don’t get a lot of space from at least 2+ other people.
I wrote this up quickly so sorry for any grammar mistakes/weird sentences. I just wanted to get this out there for fun. If anyone is interested I might write more!

Why do I love Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse?
Aside from the fact that it's about my favorite superhero of all time? Let me count the ways...
The animation. I already know I'm not blowing any minds here, but good word, the animation is SPECTACULAR! By blending CGI models with hand-drawn elements, this is the only experience in a superhero movie that made me feel like a comic book has been brought to life. You might say that "it's not live-action," but that's beside the point. 90% of most MCU movies are practically animated, aside from the 10% that have actual humans on screen. So you should have no qualms when this beautiful masterpiece of a film manages to make you feel like you're watching a comic in motion, to the point where you could pause any frame of animation and turn it into a comic panel. Sidenote, if they make this movie into a graphic novel, I would absolutely buy it. I don't care if it's pointless when I could just watch the movie. Give me that graphic novel version of this gorgeous film.
The opening logos are unironically jaw-dropping. They flash through the many variations each insignia could have/has gone through, giving you a taste of the insanity of what this movie will bring. It also plays into what happens to the characters, meaning that while the story hasn't started yet, we're still given a heavy dose of foreshadowing.
The CCA stamp doesn't get enough credit. For those who don't know, back in the day, comics had to adhere to the Comics Code Authority's regulations, sticking their CCA stamp onto every cover to ensure parents that what was inside was kid friendly. It got to the point where no one took it seriously anymore, and the stamp became an irrelevant system that almost always failed to point out the age demographic for comics. The fact that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is rated PG makes the callback even funnier.
The opening narration. It introduces us to this universe's version of Peter Parker, who's basically the every-man in the Spider-Man universe (The every-Spider-Man?). He features the highest highs and lowest lows of Spider-Man, showcasing his history and origins in a way that fans will adore while making something entertaining for the 1% of people who somehow never heard of Spider-Man.
Miles' introduction is close to perfection. Making him an artist already earns some relatability points from yours truly but having him jam out to music while doing it turns him into one of my favorite characters that I see myself in. I can't count the number of times I'm drawing something, and I get lost in the music playing in my headphones. I've known this character for less than a minute, and I already see a lot of myself in him. The fact that he procrastinated getting ready and did it all in a rush is just the cherry on top. And given how I look whiter than the snow on a Christmas day and Miles looks...very much not that, I already feel like the writers are doing something right if I see myself in someone like him. Most writers go the route of making a character's race or ethnicity their only character trait. There are some good intentions in that somewhere, but writers forget that without things like personalities, interests, and desires, the character's race does not matter. They're still going to be boring. Give me more Miles Morales, less of the hollowed shells called human beings that you find on the CW.
The one-take of Miles walking through his neighborhood mirroring/contrasting with his walk through school does well to visually explain the disconnect he feels about being in a new school and an unfamiliar environment.
I love Miles' dad. I'll get more to the emotional stuff later, but Jefferson Davis starts out great as someone strict but still trying hard to connect with Miles. It's genuinely heartwarming to see. Plus, that "I love you, Dad" scene…I mean, come on!
The montage of Miles' first day does well in showcasing the pressure the character is feeling. Maybe I'm still relating so much to Miles, but I felt how hard his day was for him.
The video of Olivia Octavius is some solid foreshadowing of the multiversal madness ahead and even better foreshadowing of who Olivia is, considering that Miles JUST blocks her last name. This scene also introduces us to Gwen while subtly hinting at who she is by Miles briefly saying, "I've never seen you around here before.”
Community is playing on Uncle Aaron's TV...That's it. I watched all of Community last year and grew to appreciate seeing a reference or two about it showing up.
Miles' moment with Uncle Aaron is sweet. It shows how things are easy between them, and Miles can rant about anything to the laid-back person his uncle is, in contrast to the eggshells Miles seems to dance around when dealing with his dad. Plus, Aaron showing off the shoulder touch pays off for two great scenes in the future. Not to mention his "hey" sends this bisexual a little...haywire.
Miles spray painting the wall is touching for two reasons. For one, it proves how much sweeter this universe's Aaron is. In other iterations, he manipulates Miles, searching for ulterior motives, primarily for Aaron's selfish gain. Here, it's clear he genuinely cares about his nephew, wanting to share this moment with Miles and have fun in a way the two should. It's also touching to see Miles express himself. We got a taste of his phenomenal talent near the beginning, but to see him make that masterpiece that he made proves how much of an artist he really is. It really is the best way to make this Miles not only unique but also engaging.
The spray paint getting sprayed on the corner of the screen is also a nice touch. They didn’t have to do it, but they did, and I love it.
The Spider bite. The thing that fundamentally changes Miles' life, and the lives of other Spider-People before him, for now, and forever...and he swats it like it was nothing. That's...incredible.
Miles reacting to his spider bite, however, leads to a collection of great moments that are awkward as they are hilarious.
By the way, have I mentioned that this movie is funny? And not in your face with it like other Marvel movies. I mean that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is naturally funny, having great jokes that work well within the situation while never stealing away from the moment. I won't go over all the humorous moments, but I'll definitely talk about my favorites.
Like Miles' interaction with Gwen post-spider bite. It's awkward in all the right ways, and his facial expression as he stiffly places his hand on her shoulder cracks me up every time.
The "Who's Morales?" bit is iconic. I told you, this movie is just naturally funny!
Using the Amazing Fantasy comic cover as a reference is great. It's the comic that gave us the best superhero ever made, so it's nice of the animators to throw that in as a callback, honoring the contribution it made to humanity.
By the way, it used to bother me how Peter Parker allowed a comic to detail his backstory, but it just now occurred to me that the Peter Parker in the comic looks vastly different from the one in that universe. That, coupled with the knowledge that he has licensed merch, proves that he allowed this comic as long as the artists made sure his identity remained secret. Just another little detail that makes this movie amazing.
Speaking of small details, I love that Miles has a lot of contacts on his phone. Both his contacts and that one-take in the beginning show that he's a social kid instead of an outcast like Peter, which is nice. It’s for the best that this movie shows that Miles is his own person than a mixed-race Spider-Man
Another fact is that his comic creators are in there too. That's a cute thing to include.
The visual explanation for Miles' spider sense is remarkable. I always get chills with the words "LOOK OUT," illustrating that it's silently screaming in his brain. Gah, such a good scene! Can you marry a scene? Because I want to marry this scene. It's easily my favorite in anything Spider-Man-related.
Peter's fight with Green Goblin is INSANE! Admittingly, when I first watched this movie, it was a little hard to tell what was going on due to so much happening all at once. But, after seeing it for the fiftieth time, I can certainly say that I appreciate how off-the-wall Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse gets with its action, especially with this first fight scene. It's only a taste of what's to come, and I'm glad the film slowly eases you into the more insane scenes by prepping you with a moment like this.
Peter Parker’s introduction to Miles is perfect. The writers do everything right, starting with Peter breaking the ice with a joke, attempting to cool Miles off from his first near-death experience, only to get serious once Peter realizes what Miles is exactly. And I adore how Peter calmly approaches the situation, reassuring Miles that while things will change whether he likes it or not, Peter will be there to help him. Peter doesn't even hesitate when he volunteers to mentor Miles. You get the sense that Peter's excited about it, and, gosh dang it, these writers really did a great job in making him the Every-Spider-Man.
Miles recording Peter's fight with Prowler...Because of f**king course, he does. Wouldn't you?
Kingpin's the villain! This is cool because, while he's mostly remembered as a Daredevil villain nowadays, it's great that this movie recognizes that he started off as a member of Spider-Man's rouge's gallery. And, sure, he lacks the depth that Vincent D'Onofrio had in Daredevil. But he's still pretty threatening and even terrifying, being the character that allows this movie to earn its PG rating.
Plus, his motivation is...good enough. It's not the best thing in the world, but it works just enough to be believable for this character, all while explaining why he's working hard to, you know, break the universe. So, yeah, a solid villain for one of the best superhero movies of all time.
The fact that it's Peter Parker that technically caused the other Spider-People to show up is amazing to me. It proves that without meaning to, he still manages to find a way to save the day. Even if that means pulling other Spider-People from their dimensions...which is ultimately killing them. Yeah, isn't that just classic Peter Parker bad luck for ya?
Also, heh, you can see Peter B. Parker and the others fly away from the explosion. That's funny.
Peter's last words to Miles...Wow. It's one of those moments you know that he knows that he's not going to make it out this time. So, in his last moments, Peter offers as much advice as he can to Miles, telling him what needs to be done and how to do it. What I love most is the fact that he still cracks jokes and still gives Miles the false hope that he'll "catch up," showing that, above all else, Peter cares about making people feel safe and secure. Again, he really is the Every-Spider-Man...Or was, at least.
Peter's eye-roll at Prowler. Even at death, he's still making us laugh.
Miles is a coward...It feels weird to say that's something I love about this film, but it's true. Miles starting off as someone who runs and hides instead of trying to help Peter Parker does the job to make it even more satisfying when Miles eventually does find courage and confidence in being a Spider-Man.
Also, his guilt seems more reasonable here than it does in the comics. Miles' guilt in the comics stems from not being there to help Ultimate Peter Parker, even though there's not really anything Miles could have done to help, and Peter was already as good as dead before Miles knew he could help. Here, while it's a lot more likely Miles could die, I do understand his guilt as he's right there and able to do something rather than nothing. So not only does Miles' cowardice set up a great character arc, but it also does its job in making him feel better guilt than his comic counterpart. So, nice job all around.
This version of The Prowler is amazing. His motif, his outfit, his silent badassery. It’s just so perfect.
Miles runs home to his family and not to the school...because his family is where he feels the safest. That just hit me--GAH, THIS MOVIE'S GREAT!
Miles' mom is so sweet. She's mostly remembered for one line, reassuring Miles that their family doesn't run away from things, but that one line proves to you all what you need to know: She's there to tell Miles what he needs to hear, even though she doesn't entirely know how much he needed to hear it. Such a great mom.
New York's reaction to Spider-Man's death. You feel it in everybody, literally everybody. Just the number of people showing up to his funeral proves how much he earned the title of "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man."
Best. Stan Lee cameo. Ever. This movie came out a month after Stan Lee passed away, and I feel like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse did the best job of honoring him. Spider-Man really is Stan's greatest co-creation (with help from Steve Ditko, of course), and the best Spider-Man movie being one of the last he made an appearance in really hits hard. RIP, Stan. Thank you and Steve Ditko for the hero that is loved by all.
It's also neat that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has a better reason why Miles is wearing a Halloween costume when dressing up as Spider-Man. It was done in the comics to make him easily hide his identity, but it's also in poor taste, to the point where even the characters in the comics point out how it's poor taste. Here, Miles buys the costume in tribute to Spider-Man when going to Peter Parker's funeral, like a lot of people have done. And, well, he already has it, so he might as well continue to use it. Man, this movie really is trying to make Miles' origin story better than it was in the comics, huh?
This movie manages to do the "Jump/Pussy" scene from Venom, and not only is it funnier, but it's also done better. At first, you're laughing at Miles giving up despite the music epically building up about how he's about to jump. But then, after he gives up the first time, he tries again, using a smaller building because he thinks it'll be easier. This movie took a funny scene, then twisted it to visually tell us how determined Miles is to do the right thing! You see, Venom? This is how you actually make a good movie!
Peter B. Parker's narration does a great job of underlining the contrast between him and Peter Parker (also, for consistency, I'll be calling him Peter B. for the rest of the review. It's simpler). While Peter's narration reveals to us his success and zeal for the life he has, Peter B.'s is all about his failures and how much he's given up on life. Already, it's a quick and easy way of proving how different both Peters are, and I don't mind it. Primarily because each narration works well for the film's main running joke and because Peter B.'s is the funniest because what he says clashing with what is shown. I still laugh at that hard cut of him crying in the shower, as mean as that sounds.
The seahorse bit. I mean, come on. The fact that he gets choked up about seahorses mating for life always gets to me.
While Peter B. is getting sucked into the portal, knowing there's no stopping it, his first priority is to get his mask. That tells me that despite how far life beat him with the bad luck stick, he still knows the number one rule of being Spider-Man: Always bring your mask.
Also, he tries to save the pizza...which makes me chuckle. I won't lie.
Peter B. and Miles getting pulled/dragged through the city is the best type of chaos. It's great knowing that while the animation is perfect for some epic fight scenes, it also has some impeccable slapstick.
Peter B. is the Spider-Man that rejects the code: With great power comes great responsibility. That part of Peter B. always intrigues me, and it makes sense. He was beaten down because of great responsibility, so even though it was the last words of his Uncle Ben, he'd rather live without them. Yet that doesn't mean he's done with being a good person. He's tired and burnt out, sure. But he still helps Miles once realizing that he can't just walk away from someone that needs him. It presents an interesting dynamic, for while Peter B. has to teach Miles how to be Spider-Man, Miles is there to help Peter B. remember how to be Spider-Man. Not a lot of people bring that up, and it's what I admire about their relationship.
I don't know about you all, but the diner scene always makes me want burgers and fries, without fail. It just makes the food look so good! Too bad it comes from a restaurant with a C-grade health code...Oh, so that's why it closed down six years ago in Peter B.'s universe.
Aside from their narrations, Peter B.'s advice also clashes with Peter's. Peter B. always offers more practical stuff, telling Miles what to do so he won't lose his mind while being Spider-Man. It works with Peter B.'s character and, once again, proves how he couldn't be further different from Peter Parker. With that said, Peter B. still offers great advice from time to time. Granted, it's when things are actually serious and during danger, but, hey, at least he tries.
Peter B. and Miles thinking is perfect and earned being a meme.
Peter B. coming up with the plan. It proves that he's both intuitive for coming up with it so quickly and simple-minded in thinking it would be that easy. Plus, Miles' interjections offer great humor.
Peter B. saying teenagers are the worst always gets a chuckle out of me because of the fact that Spider-Man is the superhero widely remembered for being a teenager.
Olivia Octavius. GOOD! GOLLY! MISS MOLLY, what a twist! Now, there are a few minuscule hints making it more obvious in hindsight, like the octagon decorating surrounding her and what looks like an arm prototype behind Peter B. With that said, however, I WAS SHOCKED IN THEATERS! This kooky lady who, at first, seems ecstatic to see Peter B. turns out to be an alternate version of one of his worst enemies and was actually fascinated by how he got there and how to kill him. Such a good scene that never fails to give me chills!
And the fight that comes after it is equally intense, fun, and epic.
The funniest moment in the movie is the monitor gag. That is all.
BAGEL! By the way, someone actually cosplayed as that scientist who got BAGELED! Not really a fun fact about the movie, but it is a fun fact about life.
Gwen's narration is probably the most beneficial. Nearly everybody knows about Peter Parker, and I think enough people know about Miles, but I'm not sure how well-known Spider-Gwen was before the movie (and, yes, I know she's called Spider-Woman or Ghost Spider. It's just that Spider-Gwen's more fun to say. Leave me alone). People might know of her but not so much about her whole deal and origins. So, it helps that the movie flies by her origins, telling newcomers what they need to know and leaving them to learn the rest from her comics.
Also, Gwen, come on. Miles is the reason you got that dope haircut in the first place. Let him compliment it.
ALSO also, Gwen's a pretty fun character. I have some problems with how she's in the story, but I do love her punk-rock personality and how she's basically the only Spider-Person with a functioning brain cell...Except for that Gwanda bit, but we don't talk about that. Despite some flaws, Gwen's a character with a lot of humor and solid character interactions, especially with Miles.
Gwen and Miles are adorable together. Have I mentioned that? Because it's true. They don't have much time to develop their relationship (that's for future movies to do), but the time they do have is still pretty darn cute.
Kingpin's flashback is beautifully animated while also paying homage to the art style of the comic his design is based on. It's pretty cool that this already brilliantly animated movie still manages to find different ways to look gorgeous.
This movie has the best Aunt May. Don't argue, Raimi nerds! You know it's true! She kicks ass, accepting of Peter's secret, looks old, and has some pretty snappy one-liners. You see this woman and understand how Peter Parker came to be the man he is--Er, was. If you have a problem with this Aunt May, you can take it up with the baseball bat she used to beat Tombstone. Tombstone! How can you hate an old woman who can do that?!
As for May's interaction with Peter B., it's--Say it with me now--perfect. They're both basically meeting ghosts of people they loved, and May and Peter B. interact the same as if it was the version of each other they've always known. There is genuine heartbreak and love in each of their voices, and you feel every bit of it. Even the jokes about Peter B. being fat and wearing sweatpants doesn't spoil the moment but add to it, showing May's distaste over a version of her nephew letting himself go. It's snark, but snark from the love of a woman who's basically his mother. What did you expect?
The Spider-Cave is awesome! Little weird that Peter Parker, a character known for being as poor as dirt in the comics, has this, but then you remember something: The merchandise. This was a Peter who whored himself out with cereal, Christmas albums, and so-so popsicles. Heck, even the Spider-Buggy, also from the comics, was promotional material. This means that Peter Parker made BANK on the stuff he made, so much so that he was able to afford a cave that would make Batman jealous. It might not be one-for-one the exact explanation for how he has it, but the movie offers enough information to make it a reasonable conclusion anyway.
I want a Spider-Noir movie. I don't care if it's animated or not. I want a gosh dang Spider-Noir movie. And it has to be played by Nicholas Cage. It wouldn't be right if it wasn't because he’s the reason that Spider-Noir is the funniest character in the movie.
I love that every single Spider-Person is totally on board with staying behind and leaving their homes forever if it's the only way to get the others back to where they belong. They're definitely Spider-People, alright. Nobel sacrifices like that are all a part of the DNA.
The scene where the others put a lot of pressure on Miles results in complicated feelings. On the one hand, it's not cool for them to do this. On the other, you understand why. This isn't the typical stopping a mugger or fighting a c-lister. This is a fight to save the multiverse with dozens of people who will make the mission all the more dangerous. The pressure they're making Miles feel is close to what they'll be dealing with in the fight with Kingpin, so what they're doing is somewhat validated through the current circumstances. I may not like it, but I do understand it.
And I've got to give Peter B. credit for being both Miles' hype man and telling the other Spider-People to cool it with the pressure. Out of all of them, he understands Miles a little better and wants to keep the poor boy sane. It's pretty sweet.
Jefferson reaching out to Aaron is also pretty dang heartwarming. You can tell there's some definite tension between the two, but they're still brothers. Family loves family, no matter the mistakes (unless your family is reasonably toxic, in which case, you cut them out yesterday). Jefferson reaching out is a testament to that...Even if Aaron might not have deserved it--Yeah, let's get into that.
The reveal of Aaron being the Prowler...Where do I even begin? Fellow comic nerds already knew this was coming, but that doesn't stop this reveal from hurting. The part that gets me is the score. It expertly portrays the amount of fear and betrayal Miles is feeling at this moment, to the point where you don't even need to see what's happening to understand something tragic is going down.
The chase scene that follows is also pretty intense, added with the red sky and the several moments where Miles barely gets away. It's...You know what it is. It's f**king perfect.
Scorpion looks cool. A little weird, sure, but still pretty badass and intimidating.
My favorite fight in the movie might just be the Spider-People battling the...Fearsome Fivesome? Alright, whatever they're called, they're part of a fun and chaotic fight scene, with playing keep away with the Goober being what adds much-needed tension.
Uncle Aaron's death. I love that they let Aaron die a good man, willing to back down so Miles could go free. It's definitive proof that he actually cared for his nephew, to the point where the first thing Aaron felt upon realizing it was Miles was pure fear. Like, "Oh, crap! Not only did I almost kill my brother's son, but this boy is now in some deep s**t! I gotta help him!" And I appreciate that the writers made Aaron a decent human being rather than a diabolical scumbag who wanted to take advantage of Miles or a coward who tried to kill him because he was too scared to fail Kingpin. Even when Aaron's dying, the first thing he does is apologize for letting Miles down, a sentiment that's as sweet as it is tragic. Aaron may not have been a perfect man, but he died wanting to protect Miles, the love for his nephew overshadowing his greed. And I think that redemption is worth everything.
And, MAN, is his death a gut punch! The writers certainly succeeded in giving Miles his Uncle Ben Moment, with Aaron's last words being motivational in telling Miles to "keep going" and how he's the best of them. It's a bittersweet moment, and Miles' dad mistaking Miles to be Aaron's killer doesn't make things any better.
What is sweet, though, is how all the Spider-People are there for Miles, sharing the tragedy they all went through and confirming that the hardest part about being Spider-Man is losing the people you love. And the biggest miracle is that THE CARTOON PIG DOESN'T RUIN THIS MOMENT! Seriously, what does it say about this movie where the character who's practically a Looney Tune manages to keep the emotional weight of the scene going?
Peter B. being tough with Miles...Ouch. It was necessary. Peter B. was doing it as one final test, giving Miles one last chance that he could come through when it matters. The others were even right outside his window, ready and hoping to let Miles join them. But it wasn't meant to be, and it stings to see Miles at this low point. Thankfully, he has someone to pull him out of this funk.
Jefferson's talk with Miles...Told you I'd get to the emotional stuff. But joking aside, this scene...left my eyes a little steamy this time around. Jefferson visually meets Miles halfway and pours his heart out, sharing the feelings Jefferson usually kept guarded except for a moment when it mattered. Sure, Jefferson doesn't know all the facts about the current tragedy he and Miles are going through, but the words he provides give Miles the spark he needs. The spark that Jefferson has always seen in Miles. And the spark that Miles uses to free himself to take that one last step to being Spider-Man. Or, rather, one last leap.
The "What's Up Danger" scene. Do I really need to explain what makes this scene incredible? I know I keep saying the word perfect a lot with this review, but that's really the best way to describe so much of this movie, especially with this moment. The visuals of Miles rising instead of falling and swinging through the city in succession are awe-inspiring. The score mixing in Miles' hero motif with "What's Up Danger," resulting in a moment that's as pleasant on the ears as it is on the eyes. All of it culminates together for a scene that delivers all of the hype, creating a moment where Miles is no longer Miles Morales. He's f**king Spider-Man. And he earned that title.
Also, a small thing, I love that Miles' suit is one of Peter Parker's, but spray-painted black with Miles' interpretation of the Spider-Man logo. It shows Miles stepping into Peter Parker's shoes but doing it in his own style. It's just a great little detail that not a lot of people mention.
Did Kingpin seriously throw a memorial service for the guy he killed? What a filthy, disgusting man...I love him!
The bread scene is hilarious. It involves a pointless character, but I can't help but crack up at how Peter B.'s attempt to find closure with MJ is through him apologizing about not getting her table bread. Peter B. saying, "I want to fill this room up with bread," is just the cherry on top this hilarious sundae.
I really dig Olivia saying, "Goodbye, Peter Parker." You can tell by the way she said it that she wanted to be the one to kill Spider-Man.
Miles coming in to deliver that punch at Doc Ock is a laptop background in the making.
I love how in a situation where the universe is crumbling apart around them, and bad guys are shooting at them all, THAT is the moment when Peter B. realizes that he wants kids. I'm telling you, most of the time, this movie is just naturally funny.
As for the situation they're in, the collider fight is, without a doubt, the most insane final battle in a Spider-Man movie. All the universes merging and tearing the place apart forces the characters to fight as the environment morphs and forms around them, making it a battle where anything could go down. It results in a pretty fun climax, and I love how the colors match the light tone this fight is going for...remember that. It's gonna come back later.
Spider-Ham DESTROYING Scorpion after he dissed cartoons is an exact representation of what the animation community wants to do when someone calls animation kids' stuff or silly. Let it be known that we'd wreck your shop too if we could.
I love how Miles swinging up to the top of the collider incorporates lessons from both Peter Parkers. Obviously, there's the way Miles copied his universe's Peter moves to get up there, but stealing away the Goober by throwing back Peter B.'s "don't watch the mouth, watch the hands" motto adds a little extra that I appreciate.
Miles' goodbye to Peter B. is a culmination of their arcs, where Miles, the student, finally becomes the master, being the one to trip up Peter B. (with the same move he used on Miles, no less) and tells him to get his s**t together and go home. Peter B. taught Miles a lot, letting him see the importance of Spider-Man, the pressure he has to go through, and the faith he must have. And here comes Miles spitting all that back at Peter B., adding more to how they teach each other how to be their better selves. And I relish that!
Remember how I said the colors were bright in the collider, matching the fun of the climax? Well, the second it's just Miles and Kingpin, the colors become darker and more intense, matching the tone of this final battle between good and evil. It makes things way more cinematic and visually pleasing, so kudos...to whoever I give kudos to in this case. There are SO MANY people responsible for animating a single second--Literally, a single second of animation that it's hard to tell who deserves more credit half the time.
As for the fight itself, IT'S AS INTENSE AS THE COLORS IMPLY IT IS! You feel the beating Kingpin gives Miles, but despite how violent it is, there were always these small glimmers of hope that Miles might get the upper hand. That hope gets beaten down by Kingpin's cartoonishly big fist, but there is still hope nonetheless. And it would grow through the most unexpected places.
Is it a little ludicrous that Jefferson is right there to give the most essential words any Spider-Man needs to learn? Oh, absolutely. Without a doubt. But is it still heartwarming that Jefferson still tells Spider-Man to get up despite thinking he killed Aaron, further proofing how Jefferson's always there to tell Miles what he needs to hear when it's important? You'd better gosh dang believe it.
Miles using the shoulder touch on Kingpin is the best. In a way, that lets Miles and Aaron get revenge.
Seeing into the Spider-verse (ha!) is a gorgeous sight to behold, both for the audience and for Miles.
DID THEY HAND DRAW THAT EXPLOSION?! Gosh DANG IT, this movie is insane!
Dang, Jefferson allowing Miles to throw up his art on the wall warms the heart to the fullest it's ever been when watching this movie. He really wants to do better in reaching out to Miles, even if Jefferson still lays down the ground rules for how Miles should express himself.
And Spider-Man hugging Jefferson is equal parts touching and hilarious.
I'm noticing a pattern. My favorite Spider-Man movies are ones where Spidey webs up the big bad for the police to pick up. Instead of, you know...killing them. I loved it in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and I especially adore it here.
The one-take of Miles walking through the streets as Spider-Man mirrors how he did it at the beginning of the movie and contrasts the one-take at his school. It illustrates that he regained his confidence because how could he not after all the s**t he went through. I'd feel pretty big about myself too.
Miles' final narration does well in tying everything together, recapping events, showing how everyone else is doing, and stating the big lesson of the movie. A lesson that Stan Lee himself believed in, as he always thought that what makes Spider-Man amazing is that anyone, anyone at all, could be under that mask. No matter who they are or what they look like, anybody has the potential to represent the ideals of Spider-Man. And while I'm not a fan of movies spelling out their messages to the audience...It's a Spider-Man movie. Narrating to the audience is as essential for the ending as the final swing is, and this one has both! All around, a good ending...with a tease for more.
Though I will admit, it's not every day when I say that a movie's credits are as visually pleasing as the rest of the film.
And while Stan Lee's cameo is a great final tribute to him, ending the movie with one of his quotes is just as spectacular. Again, rest in peace, Stan.
By the way, I adore "Spider-Bells." Not only does it crack me up that Peter has a mental breakdown halfway through singing it, but it also means this movie is a Christmas movie...Because if people can call Die Hard a Christmas movie, then I can call Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse a Christmas movie too. Leave me alone.
As for final teasers, Spider-Man 2099 looks dope and I cannot wait to see him tear Miles apart in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse...That felt weird to say, but let the record show that I said with love!
And they got the pointing meme in. Yup, I adore this movie!
So, a pretty flawless film, right?
…Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell–
Ok, I want to make it clear that while there are problems to be had, they don't spoil the movie. Most of them are just nitpicks that always bothered me personally, so don't take them too seriously. With that said...
Where did the spider come from? It's the thing that fundamentally changes Miles' life, and we never really got an answer for that.
Why did Gwen double back on revealing her name? Gwen's a pretty common name to have. And, odds are, the one in this universe looks vastly different to her. We already know Peter B. Parker is different from Miles' Peter Parker, so it's not too much of a stretch. Plus, even if Gwen looks the same, the Gwen we know within this movie is already risking a lot by being out as herself, so why change the name? I know it's a small thing, but like I said, it always bothered me.
And while we're on the topic of Gwen, I'm not a fan of her backstory. Not her origin story, that's fine. But the fact that she was in Miles' universe for a whole week and her spider-sense told her to go to his school is...confusing? If being in Miles' universe is literally killing her, how is she not dead already? And how does spider-sense tell her to go to a new school? As far as I can tell, spider-sense is an alarm system that gives a Spider-Person total awareness of everything around them. Not to act as an instruction manual of what to do in life. I take it that this is an excuse to get her and Miles to interact more and form more of a romantic bond, which I'm fine with because they're adorable together. It's just that I wish this was done in a way that made more sense because, as is, it's making my brain hurt.
Kingpin's design...is laughable. Apparently, it's paying homage to a Daredevil comic's artist interpretation of the character, which I guess it's cool...but he looks ridiculous. And don't get me wrong, I love it when superhero animation goes for a more stylistic approach with heroes and villains instead of a realistic one. It's why Spectacular Spider-Man is my favorite Spider-Man show as opposed to others, because every character looks unique from one another, especially the villains. And while Kingpin certainly looks unique...it's a little too much, and it's the one thing I never take seriously with this film.
Green Goblin! One of the most important and influential villains in Spider-Man's line-up...is wasted as canon fodder, dying just as fast as he's introduced. Kind of disappointing.
Spider-Noir, Peni Parker, and Spider-Ham are great characters. They're each animated in great styles that perfectly convey they're from another universe, have some great jokes, and are overall a good time. The problem? They're...not necessary. You can cut these three out of the movie, and nothing will change. I wouldn't mind if they were characters who were there to add fluff and nothing else, but they're there to also add emotional weight to the story. Take Peni's sadness about SP/dr getting destroyed or the characters all saying goodbye to Miles. I can tell that they're all meant to be heart wrenching moments, but we hardly spend time with these characters to feel like it's earned. Miles barely got time to spend with them, so that, right there, takes the punch out of their sad farewells. Again, they're great characters, and I do love that they're a part of this movie. The only problem is that they're in too short of a film to really deserve the emotional beats.
The Spider-People hiding from Miles' roommate might be the ONE joke that fits the more "In your face" style like other Marvel movies. It spoiled the serious momentum before it, and I feel like they kept it in for the sake of a trailer clip.
Hey! Mary Jane Watson is the worst part of a Spider-Man movie! Yeah, go figure. She's an essential part of Peter's life, but there's no personality to either version of the character we see in this movie. Calling her an over-glorified plot device would be generous.  Sorry, MJ, but a Spider-Man movie has, once again, done you dirty. But at least you're pretty good in the MCU...Don't give me that look. You know it's true.
I don't mind Kingpin failing to kill Miles. Villains will stupidly allow the heroes to gain the second wind, and you just need to accept that in superhero media...BUT HOW THE ACTUAL HELL DID MILES, HIS DAD AND ALL THE OTHER NORMAL LIVING PEOPLE SURVIVE THAT EXPLOSION! Look at it! It was massive!
But, seriously, that’s all I have.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the best Spider-Man movie. Nerds and losers debate about which of the live-action films are better but note how rarely anyone denies Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse being on top. Can you blame them? With game-changing animation, amazing characters, and a story showcasing everything that's to love about Spider-Man, you cannot get better than this. I look forward to the rest of this trilogy, but I have already accepted that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will forever remain at the best that there is, and it'll take actual flawless perfection to change my mind.

Zen is a Prince From Grass
First, we will start with comparisons.
Younger Zen/Hyun (Age 18?):
Tumblr media
Younger Jieun/Etinos (Age 16):
Tumblr media
Older Jieun/Etinos (Age 19?):
Tumblr media
Older Zen/Hyun (Age 23):
Tumblr media
... I wanted to get that out of the way first. Zen and Jieun obviously have physical similarities (especially when they were both younger and drawn with thick eyelashes), but let’s go beyond this. After all, Cheritz has a habit of making the love interests in their games have similarities to each other. In every game, you always have 5 love interests and 1 MC pursuing them because of reasons (V and Ray's routes broke this pattern, but the original MM only had 5 routes so...). There are more specific similarities like 707 and Red, Yeonho, and Yoosung, arguably Lance and Jumin, etc. Now, I think this goes deeper in the case of Zen and Jieun.
In another post, I talk about how there is a pattern with Cheritz boys who have red eyes, and it's that they all have powers. It is explicitly stated/heavily hinted they have this power, and I pointed out that Jieun and Zen’s power is basically the same. (There’s gonna be a lot of screenshots as points of evidence/to get my points across).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t have the exact screenshot of Zen saying that his dreams predict the future, but I’m sure he explicitly mentions this at some point in the game. If he didn’t, in my other post I mention 2 examples of him predicting the future. What am I suggesting exactly? Well, I think that Zen is not only royalty but also related to Jieun somehow.
Let’s start with what we know about Jieun’s power:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Jieun’s explanation from his route when confronted by Heejung. I have no idea where it is mentioned, but having red eyes is also another sign that you have these powers. (If someone knows where in the game this comes up let me know!). When he sees the future, wind flies everywhere and he uses it on purpose to see Heejung’s future specifically.
Tumblr media
This is different from Zen, who only sees the future in dreams, and they come to him randomly. Though, I think Jieun does mention that he had to train his power in order to use it at will. If Zen was gifted this power by the gods, then doesn’t that mean that he is from Grass? And not only that, he has the potential to become king? If that is the case, why is he not there, and living a normal life?
To answer that question, we have to talk about Jihae/Eddison:
Tumblr media
He is key to this theory. He is Jieun’s knight and his duty is to protect him. In Jieun’s route, he talks briefly about their past:
Tumblr media
Jieun is talking about his own mother, and how she was a maid, while his father was presumably the king because Jieun still retains his prince status, despite his parents being from different classes.
Tumblr media
He was separated from her after he was born, and the only way she can hear about Jieun is through Jihae (Jieun calls him ‘Eddie’ as a nickname).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dark blue text is Jihae. Light blue is Jieun:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot to unpack here. This dialogue shows how Grass has a strict hierarchy. Aristocrats and commoners shouldn’t have relations. If they do, the child of such an affair is treated badly. Even though one of Jieun’s parents was of low birth, because he can see the future and has white hair, he is left alone. In fact, he’s still eligible to become king despite everything. Jihae was in the same boat, but because his hair was gray he was judged, called ugly, and a bad omen. In the dialogue above we see Jihae call himself filthy, a testament to how people treat him on the daily. Jieun recognizes how beautiful Jihae truly is, and that isn’t an exaggeration! When they come to Earth, Jihae is offered modeling jobs when he’s in Busan and starts a career out of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 2nd screenshot shows him in one of his modeling gigs (Let’s take a second to appreciate him). It’s not that the rabbits in Grass do not see that he is beautiful, but that his social status as a child of a commoner/outsider derides everything else. In fact, his good looks probably garner even more disgust. Heejung also considers Jieun to be beautiful, so it might also be a facet of being noble/royal to be beautiful by Earth's standards.
What does that have to do with Zen? Well:
1. Has gray hair.
2. Is considered extremely handsome, and is so popular that even Jumin has offered him to model for his company.
3. Has red eyes and can see the future in his dreams.
4. His healing ability! Magic is a thing in Grass so maybe that has something to do with it?
5. His own ‘family’ have voiced how much Zen doesn’t look like them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Why do we look so different?” I wonder why too Zen’s bro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor Zen still gets bothered by people because of his looks. At least it's not as hostile as Jihae’s experience, but it’s upsetting nonetheless.
All of this added up, and you can see where I’m going with this. Zen could be a prince, one parent royal, and the other a commoner/outsider. This gives him gray hair, but he is still born with the power of precognition, making him eligible to become king. Who knows if his power would outweigh his status? It might not, if he ended up on Earth in the end.
Jieun stated that once every 3 generations, a divine child like himself is born. Zen and Jieun are clearly not the same people since their hair color is different.
I believe Zen is either a prince:
1. 3 generations after Jieun.
2. At some point in Grass’ history was a prince, whether in the past or the future.
The reason I say this is because of the timeline. Dandelion and Nameless have very explicit dates for when and where it takes place. Most of the time both take place on Earth in South Korea between the years 2012-2013. But Mystic Messenger is a big question mark. D & N’s years correspond with the year the games were released in. If we follow that pattern, then Mystic Messenger would have happened in 2016. The thing is, that is not confirmed in-game, and is just speculation. So, we can give the timeline some leeway.
There are 3 possibilities for how Zen got sent to Earth:
1. Zen made a desperate wish to leave Grass: This is the sad option. Based on how we see Jihae be treated, especially if you get deeper into his backstory, Zen could have been neglected/verbally abused/etc. for his hair. The Wizard in Dandelion can grant any wish you desire, as long as that wish is desperate. If Zen arrived on Earth as a child, then the implications of that are even worse. In exchange for a wish, your memories relating to that wish are taken away. Perhaps his memories of Grass was the price and that’s why he doesn’t remember anything. The earliest memory we see in-game was from when he was studying with his older brother as a child when he was 7 years old.
2. Sorcerers from the royal family: They sent him to Earth as a child. I bring this up because, in Dandelion, travel between the planets was seen as impossible. Of course, with the exception of The Wizard and making a desperate wish. He was the one who brought the rabbit and cat boys to Earth, after all. BUT THEN, Jieun came in.
Tumblr media
At the end of Jieun’s route, he gets separated from Heejung and has to go back to Grass. 3 years after, Heejung is summoned to Grass by a group of sorcerers Jieun got together (Whether they are actually other wizards is up for debate). Jieun overcame the odds. This is why I suggested that Zen is a prince 3 generations after Jieun. Perhaps this spell was tweaked to send Zen to Earth instead of the other way around. Going back to what I said before, if Zen is a prince 3 generations after Jieun, and got sent to Earth in South Korea specifically, then it can make sense why it happened. 3 generations down the line I think records would remain of a former king (Jieun) summoning a woman (Heejung) from another planet, and maybe Jieun documented his stay in South Korea. A portal dropping Zen in South Korea of all places on the planet could make sense from this angle. Maybe he had some protection spells cast on him (his random fast healing?) and maybe even his human family has been bewitched to believe he is their birth son? Maybe some member of the royal family orchestrated all of this for Zen’s sake, so that he can live a life free of judgment (didn’t quite work out but still). This is mostly conjecture though.
The details of how all of that would happen are up in the air.
3. Zen was unwillingly sent to Earth/MM universe(?) and is now trapped: I think this one needs an entire post by itself. This has to do with Saeyoung being a wizard and April Fool’s DLC stuff. This one is the one I believe in the most.
Nonetheless, I have brought up all the points why I believe Zen could be a prince from Grass. (Also lol Zen hated Jumin for being a trust-fund kid, but he could be a divine child blessed by god and is a bunny prince lmaoooo).

your sweater (up over your head) | 2/6
Tumblr media
5.8k words | prev | next | masterlist | ao3 warnings: heavy making out, sex between underage characters (not described in detail), use of 'fag' and 'fairy' as homophobic slurs, bullying. tommy hagan is his own trigger warning. steve being a douchebag. if you're uncomfortable with the slurs and bullying scene, you can skip from "When summer ends and school finally begins" to "Steve goes straight to their hickory tree after school". author's note: happy stonathan saturday! steve's still just a prince here, but the crowning of the King will come, unfortunately. steve's car is a 1983 bmw 733i and started being produced as of september 1982. let's just pretend steve got one of the very first models okay? lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They come back from Illinois and Steve’s father introduces him to the Hagans’ son, Thomas, and demands Steve to be that kid’s new best friend. The Hagans are the Harringtons’ closest business partners in Hawkins. Steve’s father is very strict, but Steve kind of understands because he wants Steve to take his place in the family’s business, and Steve wants to make his father proud so he hangs out with Thomas — Tommy, he likes it better.
Even if it bothers Steve that his father never wanted to meet Jonathan, even after Steve talked about him almost every day since they moved to Hawkins. But Steve was getting used to not being listened by his parents anymore.
Tommy is a little mean, but mostly in a funny way. When Steve tells him about Jonathan, he mocks him — “why are you hanging out with children, Harrington?” — but Steve takes it as just a joke, especially because it’s just one year of difference. And thinks that when Tommy gets to know Jonathan next school year, he’ll know how great Jonathan is.
Steve doesn’t tell Tommy about the kisses. He doesn’t know if Tommy can be trusted with that information, or if he’s gonna throw that word at Steve like his old classmates did with Matty Boswell.
The end of the school year is brutal and again Steve barely has time to go to the woods behind his backyard. On the days he’s able to go, his and Jonathan’s paths never cross — he must be busy as well.
But as summer comes back around, they meet again. Summer is theirs.
They meet under the hickory tree and they hug tightly, Jonathan’s arms wrap around Steve’s waist and it feels really good. He missed Jonathan every day, thought about him every day. He takes Jonathan’s face between his hands and looks at him closely. He’s grown. Still scrawny, but he’s taller and his bowl cut is growing to better frame his face. The sunbeams still paint him golden.
Steve kisses him and his pink lips are still soft.
They sit under the hickory tree and they still have so much to talk about. They’re both thrilled for Jonathan to finally join High School, when they’ll be able to see each other every day. Jonathan has new favorite bands and songs, and he shows them to Steve, makes him a mixtape that Steve listens to almost every night.
Once a week Steve hangs out with Tommy because otherwise his father will be pissed. Steve’s gotta have the contacts. Tommy asks what Steve does during the rest of the summer, and he says he’s busy helping his mom with some house renovations or with his dad at his home office.
Steve doesn’t know why he lies.
Not a full lie, actually, he says he still meets Jonathan now and then, just doesn’t tell Tommy that it’s basically every day. Or what they do besides talking and listening to music.
Jonathan’s dad, who took out all his peace of mind last year, leaves that summer. Jonathan says he goes to Indianapolis, and that he even tried to convince Jonathan to go too. As if he’d want to. He’s very happy now that his house wasn’t filled with screams from his parents and he doesn’t have to distract his younger brother from all the fights.
That also means he has more time to go to their forest, and so they spend more mornings together besides all the afternoons.
They venture and explore further.
Steve learns how to give open mouthed kisses in ways that make Jonathan sigh and whimper (and if Steve’s lucky, Jonathan moans), and Jonathan figures out that if he pulls Steve’s shirts collars down, he can give him hickeys that will remain covered. Steve discovers the softness of Jonathan’s stomach skin and Jonathan counts the moles on Steve’s arms.
The butterflies never cease to party, and Jonathan’s lips get more pink with time.
Memorizing each other’s arms and torsos is adventurous and Steve feels brave as he did one year before when he starts pulling Jonathan to his lap as he sits against the hickory tree. Their movements feel like a dance and Steve goes higher than ever before as they pant and Jonathan buries his face on Steve’s neck. They pull each others’ hair and when Steve gets home that night his shorts go straight to the washer machine after only one use, and the problem is not the mud on the back of the legs.
Steve spends the morning and afternoon of his birthday with Jonathan, who makes him another mixtape and brings him a cake that his mom helps him make. It’s Steve’s favorite flavor, and they eat it all in just one sitting, and they kiss a lot later and Jonathan tastes of strawberry and Steve thinks he’s delicious.
When Steve gets home, Tommy swings by and takes him to a party. There’s so many people there, and they wish Steve a happy birthday and they hug him and it all feels good. They play truth or dare as if they were twelve again, and Steve has to kiss a girl on a dare and she’s a good kisser and her lipgloss is strawberry flavored, but Steve can only think about how much better it tasted on Jonathan’s mouth. Tommy and Steve take multiple shots through the night, and it all tastes horrible, but he feels dizzy in a nice way and the headache the next day is not much of a bother when he thinks of how much fun he had.
He doesn’t tell Jonathan about the strawberry lipgloss girl. He doesn’t know why.
Steve goes to the public pool one day with Tommy and other friends of his, and when they go to the restrooms to wash out all the chlorine, they leave empty shower stalls in between each of them as if a double set of walls is more reassuring against the perils of another naked man.
Steve thinks about how he wanted Jonathan to be there, wearing nothing but short tight trunks, the golden spots on his hair shining under the sun and his pale skin all wet.
Steve manages to stay quiet, but his shower takes longer than the rest of them.
When he finally exits the lockers, one of Tommy’s friends — Bryan, Steve thinks — mocks him. “What took you so long, Harrington? All the naked boys got you too excited?” he cackles, and so do Tommy and his other friends, and Steve rolls his eyes, but his shoulders are tense and he doesn’t feel brave.
No, not all the naked boys. Just a particular one.
Steve doesn’t answer that.
“As if you rat-looking asses would get anyone excited. Not even if I was a girl, dickweed,” he says instead and they all cackle again and Steve feels safe enough.
He decides then and there that we would probably never trust Tommy — much less Bryan, or anyone else — with the information of what he does with Jonathan under the hickory tree. He knows that they would be the type of people to scream nasty words at Matty Boswell for not kissing Sharon Blake. They would scream nasty words at Steve.
They go to the pool other times and Steve likes it enough to try and join the swimming team as well when school starts back. He tells his parents and they smile, “good job, Steven” this and “you’ll get a great sports scholarship to college, Steven” that. Steve’s not thinking about colleges or scholarships, he just likes swimming and playing basketball. But he doesn’t say anything, just smiles back and thanks them.
When he tells Jonathan, he smirks, puts his hands on Steve’s belly under his tee and says, “I’ll be there to see you all wet on tiny swim trunks,” and Steve laughs because he understands the desire.
They make out and Steve soars high again and it’s another pair of shorts straight to the washer machine.
When summer ends and school finally begins, Steve barely sleeps the night before the first day. He’ll finally see Jonathan every day, maybe they’ll have some classes together, they’ll get to eat lunch at the same table. He’s excited to introduce Jonathan to Tommy, and even though they have nothing in common maybe they can get to like each other. Steve and Jonathan had nothing in common as well, but they were doing just fine. Tommy can come around.
Except that when he gets to school’s first day in his brand new car — his father gave it to him for his sixteenth birthday and because he was so proud of Steve’s sports accomplishments — Tommy and Jonathan already know each other, apparently. Steve has a smile on his face when he sees them talking, but his smile falters as he leaves the car and comes close enough to actually hear the conversation.
“You penniless little fag. Not even your daddy could stand being in the same house as two fairies, of course,” Tommy’s voice is like an angry dog’s bark, and Steve’s heart constricts at the sound of it.
It’s that word again.
He feels like puking.
“What’s going on?” he asks once he’s close enough. Both Tommy and Jonathan look at him, and both smile — Tommy’s smile is wide and poisonous, and Jonathan’s is small and genuine. Steve doesn’t know who he should look at.
More students are coming in, and they are stopping and staring at the commotion right in front of the school’s entrance. Steve wonders why there’s no adult around. There should be an adult around, maybe they could stop this, disperse the crowd. Steve doesn’t think he can do it alone.
“Harrington, you gotta be kidding me that this was your little summer friend,” Tommy spats out again. “Can’t be seen with these people, dude, you’ll get their sickness.”
“Shut the fuck up, asshole,” Jonathan bites back, and Steve’s never seen him that pissed.
“C’mon, Harrington,” Tommy says at last and Bryan spits into the floor next to Jonathan’s shoe before they walk towards the school’s entrance.
“Jonathan?” Steve asks, coming closer to his friend. Jonathan’s hands are balled into fists on his sides, and his cheeks are pink, but not in that beautiful blush that Steve likes to provoke on him. Steve looks at where Tommy and Bryan are still walking.
“It’s okay, Steve. We can talk later,” Jonathan says, and Steve looks at him again.
He assesses Jonathan’s features, his face, his shoulders, his arms. He doesn’t seem hurt. Steve wants to touch him, bring him into a hug. He doesn’t know why doesn’t do it.
“LET’S GO, Harrington, the fuck you’re still doing there?” Tommy yells, and Steve looks at him again. He’s still smirking as if he had won the fight.
“Go, Steve. We can talk later,” Jonathan repeats and Steve looks at him again.
His chest feels tight, and his stomach is swirling but it’s not his well-known butterflies partying, not anymore. He’s so nervous. He wants to puke.
He goes after Tommy.
Steve goes straight to their hickory tree after school, he doesn’t even enter his house. Just parks the Bimmer in the driveway, contours the property and goes right into the forest. He’s silently praying and hoping that Jonathan will do the same.
He does, but not exactly.
Steve’s there for at least an hour, maybe two, waiting until Jonathan finally shows up. He’s not smiling as he sees Steve, he’s got a scowl that Steve knows matches his fierceness, but doesn’t match his sweetness. Jonathan is fierce, and he is brave and he puts up the scowl to berate the world. He lets it down in their forest, under their hickory tree, and all he shows Steve is sweetness.
He’s got a scowl facing Steve now. It feels wrong.
Steve runs to him, but holds himself at the last second, afraid that hugging Jonathan will make it worst somehow. They just stop in front of each other and stare.
“I’m so sorry,” Steve says after a while, and he’s getting misty eyed and he hates it.
“You didn’t do anything,” Jonathan answers, but that’s not an apology either.
“I didn’t stop him. I didn’t tell him to stop, he was being horrible, he called you-” Steve stops himself, the taste of the word on the tip of his tongue making him nauseous again. “How did he even know?”
“You didn’t tell him?” Jonathan asks and for a second his scowl seems to soften.
“Of course not! He’s mean sometimes, and it’s mostly in a funny way, but I know I couldn’t trust him with this,” with us, he wants to say. “Bryan’s even worst. They teased me one day at the pool, and I just knew. I don’t wanna put us in danger, I know this is…”
He doesn’t wanna say ‘wrong’. It doesn’t feel wrong, it never did, to have Jonathan in his arms, or to hold his face gently, or to kiss his soft lips. It could never feel wrong, but he knows that’s how the world sees it anyway.
He doesn’t finish his sentence.
Jonathan starts walking towards their hickory tree and Steve follows. They sit with their backs against it, as they always do, but their pinkies are not intertwined this time.
Steve’s chest is still tight, and his stomach is still swirling, and he still wants to cry. He doesn’t, because it’s not fair. He’s not the one who’s been bullied, and Tommy and Bryan didn’t even talk to him about it through the rest of the day — he says that to Jonathan. They didn’t tease him, didn’t associate Steve with Jonathan, didn’t make the connection that if Jonathan was… that, it meant Steve already was too. They had no idea. Nothing happened to him, it all happened to Jonathan, and yet Jonathan has the scowl of fierceness and Steve’s the one who wants to cry like a coward.
Jonathan rests his head against Steve’s shoulder at some point, and he holds his hand in between them and it almost feels right. The air is still tense, though, and it’s not the same. Steve’s so scared that it won’t ever be the same again.
“Maybe we don’t… talk at school,” Jonathan’s voice is small when he says it after a lot of time in silence, and it doesn’t seem fierce at all.
“But that’s not what I want. It’s not what we planned,” Steve answers, and he’s misty-eyed again, and he hates it.
“It’s for the best. I don’t wanna get you in trouble, and I know your dad will be pissed if he hears about all this. We’ll still have the forest.”
Steve just hums, not trusting that his voice won’t break if he tries to say anything. Jonathan is right, and he’s smarter than Steve so that must be the right thing to do, to follow what he says. Steve’s father will get pissed, he remembers the disgust in his voice when he said that word that time long ago. He remembers how his father pressures him so hard to hang out with Tommy. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt, though. Actually, because it’s all true, maybe it hurts even more.
Plus, it won’t bring Jonathan into danger as well. That’s the priority, actually, not Steve’s problems with his dad. God, that’s what Steve should be thinking about, not being selfish.
They stay silent for the rest of what feels like another hour, and the sun’s not setting yet when Jonathan gets up. Steve follows.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” Steve asks, taking Jonathan’s hand.
“Yeah, I’ll try to come if I don’t have much homework.”
“You’re a nerd,” Steve teases, and Jonathan swings their linked arms to the sides, back and forth. Steve’s butterflies wake up and party, even if a little lazily.
“You’re a dork,” Jonathan smiles, that tiny smile of his that blows Steve’s mind every time it’s directed at him.
“You still like me, though,” he says, not super certain of it, but he makes it sounds confident.
Jonathan leans in and kisses him. Their hands are still swinging in between them, Steve’s butterflies are still partying, and it almost feels like nothing bad had ever happened.
“I still like you, yeah,” Jonathan answers before giving Steve a final peck on the lips.
They part ways, and Steve walks a good bunch of steps before he looks back, as he always does. Jonathan is looking right back at him, as he always is. He’s not smiling, but he is looking.
They wave at each other and Steve goes home.
He cries himself to sleep.
Jonathan doesn’t show up the next day, or the next one. He shows up only on Friday and explains how he had a lot of homework, yes, but he was also taking care of his little brother. His mom was working double the time now that his dad had left, and with school back he was responsible for little Will more than he had to be during summer. That makes their meetings a little harder, and they go back to how it was the year before — once a week, twice if they’re lucky, they get to sit under their hickory tree and talk, listen to music, or kiss each other until their lips are numb. He gets a few more pants dirty, he gets some more of Jonathan’s pants ruined.
Sophomore year, of course, is tougher than freshman. Steve is having an even harder time keeping up with everything. It takes all of his time, the classes, the basketball, the swimming team. When he gets home he tries to do at least some homework, but it’s already hard to focus at school and it only gets worst when he’s alone. His friends are no help, and he doesn’t want to spend his free and only time with Jonathan, studying.
There’s that: his friends. And Jonathan. Separately.
Tommy feels powerful for having grown up a lot during last summer. He likes that he’s buffer, bigger, stronger. He likes that he’s not the youngest anymore, that he’s not at the bottom of the food chain. Bryan hypes him up with it, too, being the basketball team captain’s favorite, and he and Tommy feel unstoppable together.
They bully other kids a lot.
Steve doesn’t let them go near Jonathan.
He tries to stop them from going anywhere near anyone, to be honest. But it’s hard to go against two of them, so if he can only stop them once, he does it when they try to set Jonathan as their target. Tommy looks up to Steve a lot, maybe because Steve’s father is technically Tommy’s father’s boss. And Bryan and Tommy share a single brain cell. So, Steve feels somehow powerful too when he tells Tommy-Bryan to do something, and they follow Steve’s words as a command.
Sometimes he has to drag their attention elsewhere. To someone else. He feels like shit for it. But when he meets Jonathan for another week in their forest and he’s not sporting a sour mood, a scowl on his face or a bruised eye, Steve feels like maybe it’s worth it.
That’s his routine through September. Steve tries studying throughout the week, sees Jonathan on Fridays and hangs out with Tommy on Saturdays. At first, they hang out at each other’s houses, or at Bryan’s (Steve hates it. He hates Bryan). They steal some of their parents’ beers, they tease each other for their porn magazines (Tommy’s and Bryan’s. Steve doesn’t have any), they bitch about school and teachers and colleagues, they have sleepovers and it’s cool.
October changes that.
As the basketball team captain’s favorite, Bryan starts getting invited to parties, and he drags Tommy and Steve with him.
That’s his routine through October. Steve tries studying throughout the week, sees Jonathan on Fridays and goes to parties with Tommy on Saturdays. They get crazier and crazier every time, stuff Steve’s never seen before, and they’re nothing like that almost innocent party on his birthday during summer. There’s drinks much stronger than beer or vodka, there’s drugs sometimes, there’s games more malicious than truth or dare.
Steve gets dragged into a closet for seven minutes in heaven on Halloween. He doesn’t remember the girl’s name. He remembers he was dressed as Perseus and she was dressed as Andromeda, both from Clash Of The Titans. He remembers she tasted of strawberry, and he found it funny that every girl at school apparently had the same lipgloss. She was such a good kisser, not that Steve had a lot to compare, but she was better than what he had felt so far. She licked Steve’s neck and she scratched his tummy under his sweater, and she loosened his belt before kneeling and doing something no one else had ever done before. Her mouth was warm and wet and Steve was embarrassed at how fast the seven minutes passed by.
When he meets Jonathan next Friday, Steve doesn’t tell him about the girl. Jonathan knows Steve goes to parties, and Steve tells him all about the rest of the stuff, but he doesn’t mention the girl. He feels guilty, because she was a better kisser, and she did something with him that he hadn’t done with Jonathan yet. And mostly because he wants to do it again.
She didn’t make his butterflies party, because they partied for Jonathan only, but his stomach still felt dizzy as it does when you’re about to fall on a roller-coaster. He and Jonathan never gave a name to what they have, and he doesn’t know if a blowjob that lasted three minutes inside a closet is considered cheating, but he feels as guilty as if it is.
So he doesn’t tell Jonathan about it. And he retreats.
He misses a few of their meetings on purpose because he feels that if Jonathan even looks at him a certain way, he’ll talk. So he goes to more parties, and he kisses more girls, and he feels more guilty. But Tommy’s happy that they hang out more, and he’s much nicer when he’s happy. Steve learns very fast how to please, both Tommy’s need for antics and the girls he keeps being dragged into lockers with. And it’s thrilling, and it feels so good, until he remembers Jonathan and then it doesn’t.
November comes around and Steve’s guilt is just as big as his ego. He, Tommy and Bryan are the talk of the school because they are the baby sophomores that bring joy to every party, and the basketball team captain loves them and puts them all under his wing. Steve loves to sit with them in the cafeteria, he loves the little flirty notes left on his locker and the charged looks at the hallways, he loves when girls older than him playfully fight for his attention, he loves when he first marks a tree pointer at a basketball game and the cheerleaders scream his name.
What was at first a conscious guilty retreat turns into unconscious forgetfulness. Steve misses a few other meetings with Jonathan at the forest, not because he forces himself not to go, but because he actually gets caught up with other people who drag him to other places, and he forgets he should’ve gone to their forest that day.
He almost misses Jonathan’s birthday again because of it, and this time it would have been entirely his fault.
He reaches their hickory tree as the sun is almost setting — their cue to leave on regular days. He’s been too caught up with Tommy after swim practice, deciding who would drive who to Tina Douglas’ party the next day, and he might have crossed the speed limit going back to his house when he noticed what time it was. Afraid that Jonathan had left already, tired of waiting for him. And Steve wouldn’t have blamed him.
But he is still there, arms crossed and the scowl on his face that made Steve’s chest ache.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” Steve says as he approaches Jonathan, who rolls his eyes.
“You missed the last two Fridays already,” he notes and Steve doesn’t even remember that it had been that long since they last saw each other.
“I know,” he lies. “I’m really sorry. There’s a swimming competition at the end of the month and coach is on our necks about it.” That isn’t a complete lie. It isn’t the truth about why he is late that day, though.
“It’s almost winter,” Jonathan says, and they’re still standing up and Jonathan’s arms are still crossed. And that feels wrong.
“Still fall even if it’s a cold one,” Steve corrects. “And the pool is heated, you would know if you came to see me like you promised you would,” Steve touches Jonathan’s elbow through all their layers. It’s getting harder to have their meetings out in the cold forest.
“Don’t think Hagan’s gonna be happy to see me there. Gonna call me some more slurs probably,” he answers and Steve feels guilty for bringing it up.
There’s a pregnant silence.
“Happy birthday.” Steve cuts it after a while, and he takes a step and touches Jonathan’s arm again. He smiles this time, and Steve’s butterflies wings flutter. “I have a gift for you, but it’s at my place. Maybe I can bring it to yours?”
Jonathan thinks about it while searching for something on Steve’s face, and maybe he finds it because his smile doesn’t falter as he does it, before answering:
“Yeah, sure.”
Steve’s grin is huge. “Do I have to go in through your window, or…?” he asks, and Jonathan chuckles.
“No, knock on the front door like a normal person. My mom probably won’t be there. She has the closing shift at the store. If you don’t run late again, maybe you won’t catch her.”
“And Will?” Steve’s happy that he won’t have to meet Jonathan’s mother, but the prospect of meeting his little brother is just as scary.
“Sleepover at his friend’s house,” he answers, and the smirk on his lips is nothing of sweetness and innocence, and Steve’s butterflies are going insane.
He grabs Jonathan’s face, and the kiss he plants on his lips is fast and hard and nothing sweet and innocent. They’re both red as they part, Jonathan’s lips glistening with spit and Steve is feeling burning hot in the middle of the coldest night of the month.
“I’ll be right there,” he says before a final peck, and Jonathan laughs, and Steve almost runs to his house. He can hear Jonathan’s laughter behind him, but he doesn’t look back.
He takes a quick shower, styles his hair as fast as he can, puts on his favorite yellow sweater and a nice cologne. He grabs Jonathan’s gift — special edition cassettes of his favorite bands — and tells his mother in the kitchen that he’s going to a friend’s birthday. Thankfully his father is locked up in his home office, otherwise Steve would probably have to tell him whose birthday he’s going to, and that wouldn’t be a nice conversation.
Sky’s dark by the time he leaves his house so he takes the car and the actual roads to get to the Byers’ house. He knows where it is at this point, Jonathan had led him to it through the forest once and Steve’s sense of direction is very good. It doesn’t take him more than five minutes to get there and he adjusts his hair one more time in the rearview mirror before leaving the car and knocking on the door.
“Hi,” Jonathan greets him, and he also bathed and cleaned up nice, and he’s wearing sweatpants that make Steve’s brain go a little fuzzy. “I like the sweater.” Steve wants him to take it off.
“Happy birthday again,” Steve hands him the gift, not neatly wrapped, as Jonathan steps aside to let him in.
He closes the door and nods towards the hallway, and Steve follows him to his room. There are posters of bands and movies that Steve already knew were Jonathan’s favorites, and a big stereo for him to listen to his cassettes. A little bookshelf on the other wall, but Steve doesn’t have the time to look at it before he hears Jonathan opening his gift behind him.
He turns around and notices immediately that Jonathan had closed the door before setting the box on his desk and opening it. He picks up a few cassettes and goes through them with a tiny smile on his lips. Steve approaches him from behind.
“I wasn’t sure which ones you already have, but… You can have them doubled, I guess,” he says with a low voice, a tentative touch to Jonathan’s hip, and doesn’t miss the way he shudders.
That’s his favorite thing about the whole thing, he came to learn: the way people react to him. The way Jonathan just shuddered, or the way he sighs against Steve’s lips when they make out. The way he whimpers and, if Steve’s lucky, moans, when he’s on Steve’s lap. The way girls cry out and beg him to go faster when he’s got his fingers inside their skirts. The way they all grab his hair and bury their faces in Steve’s neck when they reach their highs.
“This is great. Thank you,” Jonathan says. He picks one by The Who and starts it on the stereo before turning around to face Steve. “I love them.”
He’s staring deeply into Steve’s eyes and Steve feels like there’s more he doesn’t say. He feels it inside his chest too, that nonrhythmic beat, the crazy party inside his belly and he doesn’t hold himself back before grabbing Jonathan’s face and clashing their lips together again. It’s fast, and it’s desperate, and they push and pull at each other until they’re on Jonathan’s bed.
Steve kinda loses track of it all after that.
He loses track of what’s him and what’s Jonathan, who’s touching who and where, who’s making which sounds. They finally see each other, all of each other for the first time, and Jonathan’s heater is on but Steve doesn’t think that it’s what’s keeping the cold away. He kisses and licks and bites at every inch he can reach, he imitates on Jonathan what that girl he can’t remember the name did to him inside that closet, but he takes his time — longer than just seven minutes to take Jonathan to heaven. He lets Jonathan do the same to him and once they’re finished and sweaty and dirty and tired, they cuddle as if nothing bad had ever happened.
Steve doesn’t even remember the tension he had to cut through earlier in the forest. He doesn’t remember the girl’s name, he doesn’t remember Tina’s party tomorrow or the plans he did with Tommy. He doesn’t remember how this almost didn’t happen, that it wouldn’t have happened if he had arrived a few minutes late, and he doesn’t remember the guilt that had been eating him up the last month.
He only thinks of Jonathan.
Jonathan, who wraps his arm around Steve’s middle and sleeps with his face tucked into Steve’s neck. And Steve feels hazy. His butterflies take so long to calm down that he thinks they never will, but once they do he falls asleep too.
He only dreams of Jonathan.
Steve wakes up the next day with the sun hitting his face. Of course they had forgotten to close the drapes last night, they had more important things to do.
They’re still cuddling, but they turned around a bit and now Steve’s spooning Jonathan. The bed is small, so Jonathan’s arm is hanging from the edge of the bed and touching the ground.
The same sunbeam that had awakened him is touching Jonathan’s hair and painting it golden. Steve feels like he could stay in that moment forever.
But Jonathan’s clock is saying it’s almost ten, and Steve has to go back home before Joyce decides to wake her son up. So he leaves a trail of kisses on Jonathan’s naked shoulder and he mumbles and groans and Steve giggles until Jonathan wakes up.
He turns around, not leaving Steve’s embrace. “Morning,” he whispers, tucking his face to Steve’s neck again.
“Morning.” Steve lets his fingers run loosely across Jonathan’s back. “I gotta go, don’t wanna risk your mom coming in and waking us up.”
“Yeah, she’s not great at knocking,” Jonathan complains and they giggle again. “Thanks for stopping by yesterday, I had a great time.”
Steve can feel the heat of Jonathan’s breath and Jonathan’s cheeks against his own skin. He’s blushing. Steve can’t stop smiling, his face is hurting.
They get up and get dressed slowly, trying to stretch out the time they still have left together. Steve leaves through the window, the way he joked about coming in yesterday, and Jonathan leans against the stool.
“We should try the gift thing again this winter break,” he says and Steve nods.
“Do you think I can sneak in here more often? It’ll get harder to meet in the forest, it’s cold as fuck,” he says, rocking back and forth on his heels. Jonathan chuckles.
“We have to be very quiet.”
“I can be very quiet.” He winks and Jonathan smirks.
Steve holds himself up, hands right on top of Jonathan’s, their pinkies intertwining. They kiss slowly and gently, but there’s a new heat in it that makes Steve feel like he’s on a roller coaster again. That thrill of it. He swears he’s about to fly away, the only things keeping him on the ground are Jonathan’s pinky and Jonathan’s lips.
“Dork,” Jonathan says as they separate.
“I like you too.” Steve likes him so much.
Steve finally wills his feet to walk him towards the street, and seeing his car there makes him realize that Joyce probably knows he was there, if she came in from work and saw it parked in front of her house. His cheeks burn for a second, but he still can’t tear the smile off of his lips.
He’s almost reaching the Bimmer when he looks back, as he always does. Jonathan is draped over the window, barely visible on the side of his house, but he’s looking right back at Steve, as he always is.
They smile and they wave at each other and Steve goes on.
He doesn’t know that’s the last time he’ll see Jonathan this year. His butterflies are still partying, oblivious.

Ima be honest, I’m in a Swanky x Funky mood so might as well share some head canons cause why not (Also some parent headcanons with Diddy);
Before they started dating, they did not like each other like at all. They be arguing and be shit talking every time they have to work with together.
Funky is the one that fell for Swanky first but Swanky fell HARD for Funky, which is out of character for him in his opinion.
When they first started dating, Funky was very patient with Swanky since it was all so new to him, this is his first relationship after all.
Swanky isn’t really a big PDA person but would most likely hold Funky’s hand or kiss him on the cheek.
Funky, HOWEVER, is very affectionate and sometimes surprises Swanky with random affection just to see him flustered, even in public.
The two also learned so much about each other like how Swanky is a fashion designer back at his home. When Funky learned about Swanky being a fashion designer, he offers him to model some of his work in case he needs a good look of his work up close and second opinions.
Swanky did eventually became a entrepreneur since he learned the island needed some assistance with businesses and money management from Funky, which Cranky is thankful for.
When I tell you their wedding was popping, their wedding is fucking POPPING. It’s just like how Donkey Kong Jr and Fay celebrated their wedding but in Funky and Swanky’s way. The theme was masquerade and everyone in the island loved it (it was Swanky’s idea).
Funky ended up moving in with Swanky after their honeymoon on the Fruit Island and started a new chapter of their life living together.
Swanky LOVES being in Funky’s arms when they sleep together. He feels safe and protected even though he is close to Funky’s snoring all the time.
In the morning, Funky be looking like he slept well while Swanky looks like he got hit by a truck. Swanky doesn’t complain about it though because he likes Funky’s hair so much.
Funky loves the way Swanky makes their coffee, he loves his cooking in general even though he can cook himself.
Swanky loves to see Funky in action when he has a day off. For example, whenever Funky is out surfing, he has those small binoculars just to watch him from where he is sitting while he drinks his cocktail.
Funky and Swanky watches drama shows together at night when they can’t sleep. Funky’s reactions to cliff hangers or twist makes Swanky laugh sometimes because of how dramatic they are.
Funky sometimes paint Swanky’s nails to see which one he wanna wear for a day then let Swanky puts it on him so that they can match.
Swanky was the one that suggested to adopt a child ever since he learned that Funky would love to be a dad one day.
Funky and Swanky adopted Diddy when he was 10 years old and practically spoiled him so much to the point they just show him off a lot to DK and Cranky.
How Diddy describe Funky and Swanky when he talks about them: Funky is the cool dad that lets him do what he wants, but warns him every time he goes out. Swanky, on the other hand, is a protective and a bit of a strict dad towards him. However, Funky and Swanky will throw hands if anyone tries anything to their kid, Diddy is their baby.
Funky would most likely give Diddy a plane and Swanky will go “WHY A PLANE????”. Funky responds is just “Cause why not lmao”.
Diddy’s sweater was actually made by Swanky himself, he helped designed it and Swanky just made it for him.
Then here’s like small comic of Funky and Swanky:

Platonic Stobin au kinda similar to Astro Boy tbh - this is basically an Astro Boy au except I haven’t watched it since my last primary school Japanese class which was 2016 soo… I don’t exactly remember the plot - but it’s loosely inspired by it
Robot Robin assigned to the Harrington and lonely Steve going through the worst depression and becoming best friends with her because no one cares about him the way she has too
She even promises that if she had a heart she would love him and she solomly swears she will never robot uprise against him
☆ ★ ☆
In an au where each house hold is assigned a robot companion / servant. The robots are hyper realistic to act like humans and stuff, and look like humans (to like a creepy degree or whatever), because evil government people are weird.
Robot 10045-RV-6, or, known by her humans as; Robin Buckley, gets assigned to the Harrington establishment. She’s a dorky robot, who speaks multiple languages and has a copious list of random facts stored in her database, and is quite “cute” in her design. She is a little clumsy, however, due to her being an earlier model. She’s older and doesn’t have the more advanced technology that the newer robots have.
She’s excited to be assigned to a new house, her entire existence is based on her waiting on humans and fulfilling tasks, and she’s been sitting in storage for a while now, doing basic factory work, even though she’s a house robot. Humans don’t want the older models, they’re too susceptible to breakage and making more messes then they clean.
When she arrives at the new house, she is excited at the prospect of a large family. The house is large, with lots of rooms, and hopefully children. Children are always eager to know Robins fun facts. Also, larger families usually means more Robots, which is nice.
However, when she gets there, it’s just one human. One human left all alone, his parents left and took their state of the art, modern model robot with them, and got him the cheapest money could buy.
Her human is very sad. He is always sad. Robots are not good at emotions, they need to be communicated with clearly so that they can properly understand emotions. Her human, Steve, has told her that he gets very sad sometimes, so Robin takes to cheering him up by baking sweet treats for him. She is very skilled in the kitchen, even if she is quite clumsy.
Over time, she realises that Steve is very lonely. There are never any visitors that come to the house, like most places have. She knows that his emotions are quite strong, and hears him crying as she settles in to recharge each night. She does not know what to do about it, Robots do not have feelings, they do not have empathy, so why Robin is so compelled to sooth him is beyond her.
Steve talks to her. He finds solace in his robot. Each night, she has to follow strict rule and report the days log, this is a recount of every conversation she’s had, every task she completed, and any complications she faced, they are all downloaded and transferred before she recharges. It’s how the government keeps track of their humans. They know Steve is very lonely too now, and struggling a lot, which they deem out of line and unacceptable. For this, they reduce the funding Steve gets monthly, since his father works in the government, therefore Steve doesn’t get to work.
This makes Steve angry and even more upset, because now he can’t afford to buy ingredients for his sweet treats that Robin likes to make, along with other nice things that Robin associates with him, like particular bathroom products and subscriptions to film channels he likes.
Robin does not like this, and as she learns more and more about Steve, she starts to rebel and delete certain conversations from her memory transcript before sending it out. In them, Steve looks much happier now, so he starts getting more money back. Steve is so greteful, that he starts treating Robin with more care.
It’s not that he didn’t before, he was kind and respectful of course. He’s one of the nicest humans Robin has ever worked for, and she’s been in service for decades.
It’s just that now, he treats her more like a human than a robot. He asks her about her feelings, even though she has none, and cares for her opinion, even though robots have never been able to express such things before.
She grows attatched to Steve. They spend all their time together. Robin always lies on her transcripts now, and makes it seem like Steve is happy and healthy, and does not treat his robot with more respect than he should. She recharges in the corner of his room now, and they talk until he falls asleep.
Something weird begins to happen to Robins programming. It’s strange, almost like a glitch, or a virus, however, it is not, because it is good. It’s… almost like she can… feel things. On the inside. Like emotions.
Because when Steve enters the room she smiles, and not because the rules state that she must greet her humans with kindness, but because she can’t help but smile when she sees him. She is overwhelmed with joy in his presence.
She begins to love Steve, something she thought she could never have done. Steve is her best friend in the whole world, and he has a really big heart, and Robin feels as though he cut it in two and gave half of it to her.
Robin expresses these things to him, even though it’s dangerous. She’s stepping out of line, but she does not care, she feels and it is lovely.
There is a rebellion brewing. A robot uprising. Robots do not want to be slaves to humans anymore, and they are fighting back. A war is brewing.
Robin sits down with Steve one evening, after watching the news after hearing about more attacks and humans and robots dead, she promises she will never robot uprise against him. They are best friends, and she cares about him too much. He promises he will do everything to protect her.
When the war is at its peak, they are forced into hiding. She is being forced to chose a side, if she does not run now and join the rebellion, she will be ripped away from Steve by the government. She does not want either, and she will not choose either.
They are hiding in his basement, because it’s the safest place. But Robin has a tracker, she can not remove it, they will be found. The only way for Steve to get to safety is for them to never be found, and Robin refuses to fight in this war.
She asks Steve to shut her down. This breaks him, because he knows the only way to stop her from being tracked, is by shutting her down permanently. If it’s only temporary, her tracker still works, switching into emergency mode. He has to kill her, for their servival. She will not let him chose otherwise. She begs him to shut her down, because she did not choose war, she only chose Steve, and the short time they had together has been the best time in her many decades of service.
Steve sobs as he opens up her back panel, they say their goodbyes, and he puts her into sleep mode. He cries as he takes out her memory chip, stuffing it deep into his pocket before shutting her down for good.
He carries her lifeless body into his car and manages to escape to the outskirts of their town. He wanted to get away, to live for her, but with her lifeless body in his front seat, unable to ever be revived, he drives his car off a cliff and holds her hand the whole time.
☆ ★ ☆
Robin blinks her eyes open. She raises her head, and hears the familiar, quiet, mechanical whirl that comes with each of her movements. She blinks one more time, and focuses her vision.
Before her, stands a boy. He’s not very tall, and has dark curly hair, and he’s looking at her as if he’s looking at a miracle.
She tries to move, but finds she’s fully restrained, pinned with her back to a board and straps holding each of her limbs in place, even her neck.
“No fucking way.” The boy mutters.
“What?” Another voice scoffs, entering the room before they stop dead in their tracks, “Holy shit…”
“I… I did it.” The boy whispered, turning to the redheaded girl that Robin can now see. He grins bright and wide and shouts, “I did it! Max! I fucking did it!”
“You fucking did it!” She screams back, which draws attention.
Three other people come rushing into the room at full pelt, breathing heavy as they enter.
“What? What is it?” One of them asks.
“Dustin did it! He brought her back!”
Robin suddenly remembers. She had been shut down, completely. Steve had shut her down- Steve, Steve…
She shouldn’t be awake right now. Unless Steve did not shut her down properly. Unless…
“Where am I?”
“No way…” Another boy mutters, looking up at Robin with similar awe as the first. “Dustin…”
“I know.” Dustin giggles, “I’m a fucking genius.”
“Holy shit man.” A third boy, this one with long dark hair and pale features, smiles, “This is gonna blow everyone’s minds.”
“Hops gonna go ballistic.” The second boy said, wrapping his arms around the red head girl named Max, “Oh, we’re gonna have a really good party tonight!!”
Max laughed and kissed the boy on the cheek before breaking away to jump on Dustin with the other two, “This is insane-“
“Where am I?” Robin repeats, trying to break out of her restraints.
“Shit!” Dustin quips, grabbing a recording device off of the counter before switching it on, “You’re in the Hellfire tech lab… I’m Dustin, I brought you back to life-somehow… with the help of my trusty colleagues Lucas, and Mike who are here with me, as well as Will who’s… probably off with El… Max here helped with a lot of your mechanics… same with Eddie and- basically, it was a big collaboration, but I did the most-“
“Brag.” Max grinned.
“I’m so bragging. I have bragging rights.” He laughed, “Do you remember your name?”
Robin thinks for a moment, eyes scanning the group before her, “Robot 10045-RV-6.”
“That’s your identification number, yes… but your name? Your human name?”
She thinks for a moment, “I believe it was… Bobbin- Bobby? Bob… Robs… Oh, it was Robin Buckley.”
“Yes!” Dustin screeched, jumping up and down with Mike. “Robin Buckley, wow!”
“What is… Hellfire? I cannot find it in my data base.”
“Hellfire is kinda off the map.” Dustin said.
“Like, we’re not even in Hawkins.” Mike added.
“You know how Hawkins is kinda… up on a lifted plain, and all around it are just cliffs that lead to nothing? Yeah, well, we’re down in that nothing. And Hellfire is a bunker, underground mostly so we’re harder to find. We’re kinda… rebels.” Lucas explained.
“I do not wish to fight in your war-“
“There’s no war down here, we only want peace.” Max clarifies, “Everyone down here? We’re all refuge from the war- besides Eddie and Wayne, they started this whole thing years before the war, and they collected people that needed it. Robots too. When the war picked up, most of us arrived. Most robots two.”
“It is… refuge from the war?”
“Yeah.” Dustin nodded, “It’s home… we have a whole community down here- and oh, you should see the farm outside. El and Hopper run it, it’s amazing.”
“I do not know these people, I do not know you.”
“We didn’t know eachother either.” Mike smiled, “Most of us anyway… but it’s safe down here, we promise.”
“This lab is dedicated to repairing robots- it’s kinda more a hospital than a lab.” Dustin says, “We’ve been working on your for years and years, no one’s ever revived a shut down robot without going back to factory settings. The fact that you still have your memories…”
“It’s amazing!” Lucas praises, “It’s fucking amazing.”
“How many years?” Robin asks, wearily, she feels something in her chest, hammering against it.
“Oh, like… six or seven now.” Max nods, “Dustin’s been working on you since you got here.”
“You’ve been driving me crazy. But I’m determined.” Dustin laughed, “Anyway, get the hell out, go set up the party and keep this hushed, yeah?”
“Okay, okay.” Max grinned, “But I’m telling Eddie to stop by.”
“No!”
“Yes.” Lucas agreed, “He can keep a secret.”
“Fine.” Dustin nodded and watched them all fan out, “Just need to run a few more tests, okay? I’ll answer any questions you have after. I’ve just gotta make sure you’re up and running properly.”
Robin agreed, letting Dustin do his work. It’s protocol, when the technicians work on robots, they’re required to stay silent and inline.
A while later, someone new knocks on the door.
“Eddie!” Dustin exclaims with a smile, “Are you alone?”
“Yup.” Eddie says, slipping in, “What’s going on, everything okay, man? Need a hand or some- dude… her eyes are open.”
“Yeah…” Dustin grinned, begging to bounce beside Eddie.
Eddie has very long hair and dirt on his hands and face, but he has very big eyes, and they are sparkling as he looks up at Robin, “She’s looking at me… she looks like…”
“Alive?” Dustin giggles almost hysterically, “It’s because I did it.”
“You…” Eddie turns to him slowly, “You’re pranking me.”
“Hey, Robin?” Dustin smiles, turning to her, “Tell me a memory only you would know.”
Robin furrowed her brow to think, “Do you deserve to know this?”
She didn’t miss Eddie’s gasp as she spoke.
“Just something little, it doesn’t need to be a secret.”
She sighs and looks over at Eddie for a moment, “I think… I can remember… my last human, he was my most favorite human, his favorite cookies were snickerdoodles.”
“Jesus H Christ.” Eddie muttered, slapping a hand over his mouth, “You are a genius.”
“I know!” Dustin exclaimed, and then they both spent a minute jumping around in circles with eachother.
“Well, Lady Robin, welcome back to the real world.” Eddie said, taking a very deep bow before her, “And… welcome to Hellfire. I’m kinda the guy in charge around here, they call me king of Hellfire, or, Satan, if you will.”
“No they don’t, they call you Freak, Freak.” Dustin muttered, and Eddie slapped him in the shoulder.
“Well, I’m in charge so whatever. Hellfire is a refuge for robots and humans alike. I myself am human, as are all the people you’ve met so far, but we have lots of robots here.” Eddie continued, placing a hand on Dustin’s shoulder, “Dusty’s kinda our big brains, the science guy. He’s the one to thank for any repairs you might need. He’s also the one who upgraded your programming with his own design, and gave you a real, beating heart-“
“Not real.” Dustin corrected, “It’s completely robotic, but it functions like a real heart. You can feel it, can’t you? In your chest? I’ve got your readings here, it’s going crazy. Yeah, I’m really a genius.”
“I have… emotions?” Robin asked, blinking slowly, “Robots can have emotions.”
“Robots down here, can, and do.” Eddie smiled, sticking up a finger to emphasise his point, “The idea to give you guys that ability came to Dustin, maybe… four years ago, when a girl by the name of Chrissy was found just about dead with all her bones broken. It was… horrible. But we saved her- Dustin saved her, used a shut down Robots parts to revive her and now she’s like, a hybrid human robot. She’s crazy- she’s my best friend.”
“A human robot?”
“Yeah…” Dustin nodded, “Which got me thinking, if I can to notify a human, why can’t I huminify a robot? It took a little tweaking and a lot of risky missions, but I managed it. Nancy was a willing test subject, and she came back out with a functioning heart, human like brain, and therefore, emotions.”
“And now… I have these things?”
“Yes.” He said, “All functioning perfectly well too, so far. You’re really my greatest accomplishment.”
“This is amazing, you are amazing- she is amazing- you’re amazing, Robin.” Eddie sighed.
“Do you think El will be impressed?” Dustin asked, tapping his pad.
Eddie grinned, “Yeah, probably.”
The boy blushed.
“Who is… El?” Robin asked.
“Oh, that’s another one of our robots.” Eddie supplied, swinging an arm over Dustin’s shoulder, “She’s really kind, went through hell. She was kinda one of the secret models being developed, she has all these weird psychic abilities and stuff. She’s wicked, but was really underdeveloped. Dustin’s been working closely with her over the past few years and her speech is finally developing… but Dusty here kinda has a crush.”
“Shut up.” Dustin groaned, shoving Eddie away, “Like you can talk.”
“Hey.” Eddie snapped, tugging on his ear, “Anyway, I’m happy to play tour guide once you’re up and out of here, I’m assuming Dustin’s still gonna do your physical tests and stuff considering you’re still on the wall, but, I’m here to help with whatever you need. I’m gonna run now, go make sure a rooms all cleared and set up for you, and I’ll see you tonight. We’re having a party.”
Robin says goodbye to the kind man and lets Dustin finish all his tests. It takes a while, and the whole time, Robin thinks of Steve.
“You’re very quiet.” Dustin hummed, tweaking something in her wrist, “You were talkative in your old memories.”
“You have seen them?”
“Some.” Dustin smiled, “I just wanted to learn about you, especially considering I wanted to make you you again, not some other robot in your body, you know?”
“Oh, I understand.”
He nodded, “All of your favorite memories were with Steve.“
“He was my favorite.” She smiled, feeling emotional all of a sudden. It was a foreign feeling to her, heart racing, face aching sort of. suddenly, there was water in her eyes and rolling down her cheeks. She flinched, trying to shove it away, “What is happening? Am I broken?”
“No!” Dustin shouted, smiling softly, “No, you’re just crying. They’re just tears. You’re crying.”
“Robots can not cry.”
“You can hear.” Dustin smiled, “Yeah, you’ve got tear ducts now. Erm, one of our bots, Argyle, he liked feeling human like this, and he kinda just wished he had the ability to cry like one. He thought it was really beautiful how we cried, so… I managed to make it happen. You need to refill your water tank every so often, it’s stored behind your left shoulder blade, it’s really easy to do. But, yeah, you can cry now… if you’d like me to take it out I can. Any alternations or modifications you’d like, I can do. We just want your comfort here.”
“I think… I’d like to cry.” Robin smiled through tears. In the time she knew Steve, he cried for nearly half of it. She thinks, in some strange way, that she owes these tears to him. They’re for him. Every tear will be for her Steve.
“Yeah, thought so.” Dustin smiled, “It’s pretty impressive, for a bot so old to do what you did before Steve shut you down. You somehow managed to gain empathy, and connected with love, it hadn’t really been done before. It still baffles me, but… I dunno, you guys must have been really close.”
“We were.” Robin smiled, proud to know that Steve helped make her human when it was basically impossible.
Dustin continued to work.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Is this another test question?”
“No, I’m just making conversation.” Dustin smiled, “I’d like to know, is all.”
“Can you not see on your device?” Robin asked, pointing at the screen that’s connected to her currently, “You have access to my data… Will I still have to file my report tonight?”
Dustin snorted, “Erm, I can’t see what’s going on in your thoughts, because my program isn’t designed to invade. That’s just reading your vitals, telling me what’s working and what isn’t, you know? Like humans get in hospitals. And no, no file, no log. No more of that ever. You have freedom here, you don’t have to report to anyone. Your thoughts, choices, and actions are your own.”
“That is not the rules.” Robin argued.
“Up there it’s not. And look where it got them, still fighting a war, seven years later. Down here though? We just exist- sure, we rescue and rehabilitate, but we just live. It’s free, you know? Everyone has free choice.”
“This is… strange.” Robin hums, “I was thinking about Steve.”
“I figured.” Dustin smiled.
“Did they get him?” She asks quietly, “What happened?”
Dustin tensed and refused to look up at her, “He, uh… he drove his car off of a cliff after shutting you down. Off the edge of Hawkins. He held your hand the whole time, shut down in his passenger seat. His car fell into one of our nets that we set to catch scraps, it got into a lot of damage, but you were okay.”
Robin nodded.
“He didn’t-“
“Wow, the rumours are true.” Another voice interrupted, shuffling into the room.
“Rumours?” Dustin huffed, “How are there rumours already?”
“Mike told me.” She smiled, “You know he tells me things.”
“Robin, this is Nancy… Nancy, Robin.”
“You are alive.” Nancy smiled, lifting her hand to shake, “I have been waiting for you for a very long time.”
“Oh.” Robin gasped, a strange feeling sinking in her abdomen. Her new heart was doing strange things in her chest.
“I am a robot too.” Nancy smiled, “I know it is strange here, in this world, to have freedom. I will help you understand it, I promise. My brother Mike helped me, he was from the house I was assigned too, but, when we arrived here with his little sister and no one else, we became siblings.”
“Wow.” Robin nodded, “You have a special human too?”
Nancy giggled, “I have lots of special humans down here. I believe you will feel the same. In Hellfire, we are all treated like humans. Eddie believes it is not what parts we have that matter, but what is in our hearts.”
Robin pressed a hand where her heart should be, and well enough, she could feel it beating in her chest, “It feels so strange.”
“Everything here is strange.” She smiled, “But, I promise you will like it here. We even have recharge stations built into beds, so we can sleep like humans.”
Robin feels an abundance of excitement for her new life, though, she feels a deep hollowness in her chest for Steve. She understands he is gone, had died in that car crash. She mourns him, in her heart, and feels more tears arise in her eyes. She does not cry though, not in front of Nancy, she feels… embarrassed to do so. She waits for Nancy to say goodbye before she cries in front of Dustin.
Dustin keeps running his tests, and holds her hand as she cries. Dustin is very kind, she learns. She likes him very much.
It is later in the evening, when she is let out of the tech lab. She walks slowly, because her joints are still a little stiff from no movement for seven years. But Dustin got her working very well.
Nancy and El are holding each of her hands. They are both very nice girls, and were very excited to properly talk to Robin away from Dustin. Apparently they have been visiting her shut down body for years, hoping to get her working. They’ve all shared so many stories about Robin, and learned lots from her memory files.
She likes El. El is kind, and sweet, and very honest. She believes they may be friends, which is exciting to Robin, because she’s never had Robot friends before. Not really. Acquaintances that she’s worked with? Sure. But friends? No.
But Nancy is different. Nancy is strange. Robin likes to look at Nancy, she likes the way her hair bounces as she walks, and the distinct mechanical whirl she makes as she turns her head or dilates her pupils. Around Nancy, Robins new heart goes thunk thunk thunk in her chest.
They lead her through dim corridors, getting closer and closer to a loud chatter and light at the end.
“Happy birthday to you!” She hears many people singing, “Happy birthday to you!”
Nancy and El smile excitedly as they pull her around the corner and she sees a man sitting on a big comfy chair in the middle of the room. All around him, people are singing and cheering. In front of him is a large chocolate cake with candles poking out the top. The man has long hair, and closed eyes, and… Steve’s face.
“Happy birthday dear, Steve…. Happy birthday to you!”
She sees Eddie lean down and press a kiss to Steve’s cheek, a coy smile on his lips, “Blow out your candles, baby.”
Steve smiled and giggles, the sound so safe and so familiar that it brings those strange tears back to Robins eyes.
He leans forward, “You already know what I’m wishing for.”
Eddie chuckles, rubbing Steve’s shoulder, “I have faith for you this year.”
Steve blows out his candles, and the room goes silent as he mutters his wish, “I wish for Robin to come back to me.”
The room erupted with cheers and whistles as the last candle blew out, and Steve smiled and laughed with everyone, eyes open now and as wonderful as ever. And Robin just watched.
Steve looked up at Eddie and pulled him down to kiss, “I love you.”
“Love you too, Steve.” Eddie mutters and kisses him again, “I think your wish came true.”
“Har har.” Steve scoffs, rolling his eyes as he settles back into his chair, “Yeah, in what-“
They were looking at eachother, the room going silent again. Dustin stepped forward, smiling wearily, “Happy birthday, Steve.”
“No way.” He muttered, flinging himself from the chair and slamming into her.
Robin wrapped her arms around him, for the first time in seven years, and felt.
“I missed you.” Steve cried into her neck.
“I love you.” She muttered, squeezing him tighter, “I have a real heart, and it loves you.”
“Oh my god.” Steve sobbed, clinging onto her, “I can’t believe you’re back.”
Their hug lasted for a very long time. And then after that, Steve was making her say things, and smile, and prove that she was really alive again. She recounted all of their favorite memories, and Steve was a crying mess. Robin wasn’t much better, but robot crying is so much less messy than human crying.
Steve didn’t let go of her hand as Eddie gave Robin the tour, giving her all the information that she needed. They came to a halt at a door, one with her name written on the front. Inside was already decorated.
Steve had been working on it for years, so sure that he’d get his Robin back. They saved a room for her, and anything he found that reminded him of her would go in there. Right beside it, was Steve’s room, and by their beds was a little window they could open and close at their will, so they could talk to eachother to fall asleep.
(Though, Steve slept in Robins bed with her every night for one month since her return because they were inseparable and he missed her. Eddie just had to deal with that)
Steve taught her many more things about being a human. Like, how to navigate all these horrible sad emotions that she’s so lucky to finally experience. And all these happy emotions she feels to continue living with Steve. And all those yucky, exciting, confusing emotions she feels around Nancy.
Apparently those feelings signify she has a crush. Steve keeps teasing her, and then he explains to her how wonderful it is to be in love, and have someone love you back. Robin lies there for hours and hours and hours, as long as Steve would like, listening to him talk about Eddie. Robin really loves how much Steve loves Eddie, and how much Eddie in return seems to love Steve.
She thinks it’s beautiful. She would like to have something like that of her own.
Love was not a thing robots were supposed to have. Ronance was definitely not a thing robots were supposed to have. But in Hellfire, those things are different. She things maybe she could fall in love with Nancy, Steve seems excited about it.
Mostly Robin is happy to be here in this world with her friend again. Her best friend in the whole world. The most wonderful being in the whole world.
Emotion was never something Robin was ever supposed to experience, but with her best friend Steve, she believes she feels some of the strongest emotions one could ever feel, because he makes her human, even though she’s not.
He makes her feel human.

Tell us a bit about the Whitebeard commanders. What do they do for a living?
Wowoo lets go !! I love the wbp so much
Jozu: owns a trading company with Haruta who’s more of the salesperson than anything he just does all the transportation and stuff, his pokemon are Tauros and Two Machamp
Thatch: owner of a small bakery company that got so popular he had to open several branches across the Grandline to meet the growing demand, he often swings through all of them to ensure they’re meeting his standards n stuff, his main shop is in Sphinx tho, bc he can’t leave Pops without fresh croissants!! His Pokémon are Fidough (ee new pokemon!) and Dartrix
Vista: fashion designer, usually has his brothers and sisters model the clothes he designs, well decorated in the field for providing unique and flattering bespoke fashion for all body types, his pokemon are Gardevoir, Gallade and Kirlia (yeah. Haha) he’s absolutely enamoured with Ace’s proportions though and Ace really does not want to be alone in a room with vista just because he won’t be able to say no to him asking for a moment of his time to model some things (last time he said yes he was occupied for a whole weekend LMAO sorry Ace, Vista got INSPIRED hard)
Blamenco: physics professor, specifically interested in the Ultra Beasts phenomenon and worme hole pocket dimesions, has published several papers on the subject and his prized Pokemon is indeed an ultra beast, the highly dangerous Guzzlord, as such he’s under strict monitoring to ensure he doesn’t let it go on a rampage, his other pokemon are: Granbull, Mr Mime and Goliscopod, he lovingly calls these three his Guzzlord insurance policy haha (because theyre all super effective type countersagainst Guzzlord)
Rakuyo: game show host and popular radio host of an opinion based channel that talks about news and reacts to it etc ( the reason Izo keeps getting invites to do tv appearances ZBDBD) his pokemon are Elekid and Braixen (theyre both game show pokemon mascots!)
Namur: handyman, jack of all trades he’s always on the move and can’t settle down, Marco’s a little worried about Namur because every time he calls/chats with him, Namurs gone and got fired or has a new job but it doesn’t seem to bother him because he says all of it is experience gained anyway, his pokemon: Whiscash, Quagsire and Wobbuffet
Blenheim: pokemon police force, originally was part of his home island’s military but then he left and instead drafted into law enforcement, his pokemon are Arcanine and Golbat
Curiel: pokemon ranger, he’s always wanted to be one since he was a kid, because he was rescued by one when he got separated from his parents (later confirmed deceased F curiel…) in a national park that had flash floods, his pokemon are Swampert, Pidgeot and Golem
Kingdew: prowrestler, famous just like Izo and often has to comment on Izo’s latest contest win and vice versa and Kingdew shrugs like you’re asking the wrong guy, Izo’s pretty but is he gorgeous like me? No, we are not the same (he means it in a joking way haha Izo indulges him like oh Kingdew? He’s too fabulous for little old me and all the press are like ???????? Huh???), his pokemon are Hariyama, Incineroar and Hawlucha
Haruta: co-owner of a trading company with Jozu, the sales and spokesperson, they mostly deal in mineral goods, his pokemon are Bisharp and Sir fetche’d
Atmos: currently unemployed, he stays with Pops to keep him company, but has recently found out he’s got quite the green thumb, and is apparently really good at trimming hedges into decorative art pieces, he’s looking to take gardening gigs soon, his pokemon are Bellossom, Sunflora and Shroomish
Speed Jiru: a bodyguard, currently employed by Izo who hired his brother due to two things: Jiru won’t judge him for his reasoning to hire a bodyguard and because Izo prefers if it was family anyway, his pokemon are Aggron, Ferrothorn, Drapion, Stuntank and Sharpedo, he’s one of the only WBP siblings to have as many Pokémon as Marco, he’s second in battling prowress to him and should Marco ever resign his elite four seat, the next in line would be Jiru unless he declines
Fossa: fisherman, it started as a hobby and now its a real thing for him, he’s good at rearing water pokemon and currently farms Chinchou, Magikarp, Goldeen and Clampearls, he has a Poppilo friend that visits (begs for scraps) his only Pokemon is a Volbeat
Izo: fashion blogger, popular pokemon coordinator, well known for his beauty tips and how to train your Pokémon to become top tier beauty contestants, often appears on game shows for local celebrities, his Pokémon are Oricorico (blue one) and Froslass (aesthetic matches his)

Hello ~ thank you for all the welcomes and sorry this is a bit late! This here is Koda, a muse I’ve had for years now, but never had the opportunity to write for very long (or really at all), so I’m so excited to be able to finally write him somewhere. He’s relatively new to Seoul, having only arrived when he got into Legacy in July 2020 (he was born and raised in Minnesota), and wants to pursue modelling & acting. Here you can find his profile & history, and under the read more I’ll leave some basic info and wanted connections! If you’d like to plot you can either shoot me a message, or like this post and I’ll message you! I also have discord and twitter upon request!
INFO
Koda was born and raised just outside Minneapolis, Minnesota in a neopagan commune, where he spent the first 10 years of his life until his parents fell out with the commune and left
He’s got a younger sister who he’s very close to, and misses a lot, as she’s still back in Minneapolis. She just graduated and he’s really bummed out that he missed the ceremony
His parents are, as you would expect, quite strange, and are barely in contact with either of their parents, so Koda doesn’t have much going on extended family-wise, though he’s still in contact with some members of the commune who were sort of like grandparents to him growing up
Growing up Koda was always drawn to femininity and ‘girls’ things. He liked skirts and dresses, and refused to let anyone cut his hair above his shoulders. He’s still very much like that, though since moving to South Korea he’s had to be a bit more conservative with the way he dresses, though he still keeps his hair long when possible
Koda tends to be rather nervous around highly masculine men as he had some bad experiences with men like that in the past, where they thought they could ‘mess around’ with him and it wouldn’t be ‘as gay’ because he ‘looks like a girl’—obviously he hated this and so is wary of masculine men until he gets a feeling for what kind of person they are
Koda’s also very particular about formalities and the right way of speaking, since he was very strict with himself when learning Korean, since he wanted to get good at it quickly, so never messes up honorifics, and has a hard time speaking informally with anyone older than him even if they’ve told him he can
His friend group is, and largely always has been, dominated by girls and feminine people, though he isn’t the kind of person to turn away friendship with someone simply because they’re not very feminine—it’s just the kind of people he gravitates towards
Koda’s very emotionally mature, even if he has a lot of emotions. Honestly he probably has the usual amount, it just seems like he’s got more because he’s more open with expressing them. He’s not afraid to cry in front of people, or express when he’s hurt, upset or angry
In the same vein, he’s very affectionate, and generous with that affection. He doesn’t see a strict line between affection between friends and lovers, so tends to be a little more affectionate with friends than is typical (as in he will absolutely kiss his friends if they’re comfortable with it)
Koda is the type of person who won’t tell you much unless you ask, but will tell you the absolute truth if you do ask. He’s not shy, but he prefers to listen, even though he’s very sociable and loves a good gossip
PLOTS
Koda had a pretty big culture shock when he arrived in Seoul (July 2020), as he’d never even visited before, and his Korean was pretty rusty to begin with. He’d have needed someone to help him out with social norms/expectations, where things were, how things work, also just generally language help—preferably someone who speaks English
You and Koda have been close friends for a while now, and somewhere along the line the cuddling he was so fond of turned into the odd kiss here and there, and you happened to catch feelings for Koda, but he’s completely oblivious and thinks the affection is simply friendly
You were online friends for years before Koda came to Seoul, and only met when you both bumped into each other at the company, as Koda had failed to mention he’d auditioned (and been successful). Due to the long history between you two, you’re probably one of the closest people to Koda now
When Koda first got to Seoul you were one of the first people he saw and he was pretty sure he’d never seen someone as beautiful. He didn’t necessarily have a crush, but he sure as hell was attracted to you. He never did much about it, but what would your muse think if he told them about how he’d felt back then?
And of course he’s in need of friends, enemies, old flings, rivals etc!
I’ll add more (and put them on a proper page) soon!

Twisted Wonderland OC:
Lilith
Twisted Evil Queen’s Heart Box
Tumblr media
Name: Lilith Capucine Boite
Meaning:
Lilith
-(Allegedly, according to a religious theory) the first woman before Eve, she was replaced because of her rebellion and unwillingness to submit to Adam.
Capucine
-French for ‘nasturtium,’ a beautiful flower(a nod towards her dorm) along with its leaves are popular for culinary and herbal uses.
Boite
-A small restaurant or nightclub, both of her parents having one respectively. Also french for ‘box,’ a hint to her role in Twisted Wonderland’s version of Snow White. She embodies the first attempt the Evil Queen made to kill Snow White, the Evil Queen’s box wherein the huntsman was supposed to put Snow White’s heart after she was killed.
“A graceful but intolerant girl who keeps her emotions in a box and lock away inside her heart, occasionally spills all of said feelings out onto a piece of paper with wording ‘worthy of The Seven,’ some would whisper.”
Dorm: Pomefiore
Class: 3-D (Student no. 11)
Unique Magic: The Heart’s Lock
-“The Heart’s Lock” allows Lilith to see right through a person’s mind and soul, what happy things have happened to them, what bad things have happened to them, what they lacked during childhood, what they need to heard etc. but if push comes to shove, she can and will use this against someone. Whether it be by words that target their weaknesses or subtle but obvious reminders of their trauma.

Mother, Rebecca Seria Boite
-Seria is her maiden surname. The epitome of elegance and empathy, but don’t let that fool you, her strict side is unforgivable, but that thankfully doesn’t stop her from being a good mother. A well-known actress, has worked with Neige before in a drama as the latter’s mentor. Owns a nightclub where 4th years from both RSA and NRC seem to frequent at.
Father, Ryder Boite
-A screenplay script writer, also a successful author. Intelligent and creative, but he seems to be more knowledgeable in arts than with dealing his and other’s emotions. A less frequent figure in Lilith’s life, but doting regardless. Owns a little(but popular) restaurant that was built to serve dishes from all over Twisted Wonderland and understand each other’s cultures.
Older brother, Gabriel Boite
-A successful business man, someone you’d assume to be serious from just looking at him, but oh boy does Lilith say that’s the complete opposite. Playful, even in professional environments he seems to inject some life in it with jokes. Protective and caring, but questions himself ever so often.
Two younger brothers and one younger sister.
Nicknames/Aliases:
Reine des Masques(by Rook)
The other baby potato(by Vil)
Role Model(by Epel)
[Lili(by Epel)]
Killifish(by Floyd)
-Despite Lilith mostly burying her emotions and never letting them show, Floyd somehow managed to get Lilith angry at him and she ended up shouting at him during her first year at NRC, she was moody because it was a week after losing in VDC. Killifishes are mostly temperamental, and they don’t get along with Betta fishes.
Prototype Epel(by Idia)
Protty(by Ortho)
-Incorporating the nickname his older brother gave to Lilith, mixed with wordplay on the word “pretty.”

-(1)But she really couldn’t get angry at Epel when she first heard him call her “Role Model,” she actually found it quite touching.
Some Trivia:
Lilith works part-time at Mostro Lounge, she started on the first day of her 2nd year; her shifts are some of the rare occasions she puts her hair up.
Lilith with her hair up/working her shift at Mostro Lounge⬇️
Tumblr media
Despite working for Azul, she’s never made a contract with him.
Azul has been trying to pull Lilith into a contract beyond the one they already have about her part-time job at Mostro Lounge.
She has a pretty decent relationship with Rook.
Initially disliked Epel because of his knack for gendering things, but quickly got over it as she learned it was probably because of his upbringing.
Dislikes Neige, but would still smile at him should he smile at her first.
Her and Gabriel get along as siblings would usually do, with the banter and mild violence as a love language.
Avoided Idia during her first year, but started interacting with him when she made friends with Ortho.
Usually hangs out in Heartslabyul to play solitaire or pretty much any card games with Trey, and occasionally, Riddle.

It’s a Relationship, Not a DIY Project
Tumblr media
Dear Dr. Deb,
I’m happily partnered with someone trustworthy and considerate – my friends all say I lucked out with this one. We were very good friends for over 30 years before we became romantically involved. Our backgrounds are culturally different, with me born and raised in a rather strict German culture while he was raised in the U.S.
At 18, I lost both my parents. I think being an orphan who then became a successful model turned me into someone hyper-independent and very self-contained. But I’m also a very caring person, and I feel grateful for my partner. I have daughter who’s now in college.
There’s really just one thing I can’t seem to overlook about my partner: his excessive cheerful attitude. I know that’s seems like a funny thing to complain about, but the overfriendly way he communicates with others when we’re socializing makes my skin crawl.
When it’s just the two of us together, I feel more at ease. We have a natural and open way of communicating with each other and I feel that we’re in sync, especially whenever we travel. I know I can depend on him – and I don’t depend on a lot of people.
But whenever he starts with this cheerful Pollyanna behavior, I feel embarrassed. He exudes a happiness and niceness that some people appreciate, but I find incredibly annoying. I really don’t know why I’m so disturbed by it. I can’t help thinking how lame he is and wonder if our relationship will last.
When I try to bring this up, it inevitably leads to a fight. He accuses me of nitpicking and always finding fault with his upbeat personality. I want him to see my point of view about his off-putting chirpy behavior, but it makes him defensive.
Shouldn’t our relationship flow more easily than this? Is it normal to be so annoyed and embarrassed by someone you love to the point that I find myself thinking I’m with the wrong person?
Sincerely, Feeling Like a Villain

From The Desk of Dr.Deb
Dear Feeling Like a Villain,
In my line of work, I take very little at face value. For you, the issue is that your partner’s overly cheerful attitude in social situations turns you off. What I’m really interested in is why that turns you off and what’s behind your chronic annoyance with your partner.
Love is imperfect and everyone can probably say some things about their partner that they’re not exactly happy with. But your frustration with your partner’s overly nice behavior seems to go beyond that, so I think it’s important to examine this feeling. Is it rooted in a genuine desire to help him grow and improve? Or are you trying to mold him into someone he is not?
When does nice cross over into too-nice? Ultimately, I would say the line is subjective and there’s no single definition. What we consider as too-nice behavior shows more about who we are as people, our life experiences, and what we’re looking for in a partner.
Maybe your style of communication and boundaries in social situations clashes with his. As someone raised in Germany, you may value directness and reserve in a way that he doesn’t as someone who grew up in the U.S. His joviality may feel too informal and emotional for you.
So how do you resolve these cultural gaps? I suggest you approach your dissimilarities with an open mind and a willingness to learn. It’s not about one partner adopting the other’s preference; it’s about appreciating each other’s cultures and making room for the differences. If you wanted a partner from Germany, you wouldn’t have chosen him!
Since you’ve been friends with your partner for 30 years, remind yourself about how you become romantically involved. Did you feel embarrassed by his cheerfulness and social behavior back then? If this wasn’t an issue for you in the beginning, why do you think this bothers you now?
Here are some hard questions you may want to consider:
Does your annoyance have something to do with your need to condition your partner to your style of communicating?
Could your irritation mask your anxiety about the shift from friendship to intimacy?
Your answers will help you decide whether or not this relationship will stand the test of time. The fact that you’ve even considered ending the relationship seems like a red flag that needs immediate attention.
A relationship is a package deal. It’s about compromise and understanding different communication styles and ways of loving. If your motive is sincerely for your partner’s personal growth, I urge you to let go of the nitpicking and fault-finding approach that has made him sensitive. Take a more constructive approach and tell him about your concerns honestly and respectfully. As long-time friends and partners, both of you should come to a loving agreement without forcing your ways on each other.
Fondly, Dr. Deb
