ms paint. you know her. u used her age 8 to make loads of rainbow ovals all over the canvas and then scramble it with selection tool. now u will know her true powers with my handyrandy tips under the readmore. some will be pretty basic and others are very special.
this post has 8 cool trix to learn for you. enjoy and i may do another in the future if i remember/learn more stuff
some of it might be common knowledge. but its got some deep cuts. all tips have gifs to show process easily.
🙂 enjoy and i hope this encourages you to fuck around in mspaint more
soundtrack for this post (loop it while you learn for advanced learning experience)
TIP 1) the right click trick
Tumblr media Tumblr media
left and right mouse click correspond to col1 and col2 respectively, which u can see in the top bar. this applies to all brushes and the fill tool like above. when using shapes col2 will be the fill colour (if you have solid fill selected). right clicking with shape maker will reverse the colours use on the shape.
TIP 2) right click eraser
Tumblr media
this one is extremely helpful for lineart or add shading. the eraser always uses col2. so your eraser can technically be any colour. but here's where you get powers: right clicking with eraser will only erase onto col1, with col2.
TIP 3) transparent selection change a guy destination
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the beloved transparent selection tool works based on what is selected as col2. so long as you have the correct colour as col2 you can make any image transparent and put it on top of anything else. and yes this works with photo bg as you can see.
TIP 4) the gradience
Tumblr media
this one is a little more complex. you want to start off with any canvas size, and make as many diagonal coloured bands as you want. (protip: holding down shift makes a perfectly diagonal line with line tool)
then you need to resize the canvas to a width of 1px (make sure you resize by pixels, and do not maintain aspect ratio). then resize again back to its original width (or a different width i cant stop you). you will have your lovely gradience.
TIP 5) superimposter
Tumblr media
so. you got a cool gradient and wanna put a guy on it. heres what i do:
i open a 2nd mspaint with same canvas size and draw whatever i want on there. i then pick a completely unrelated colour to my entire piece, and set that as the bg. you could use white, pink, geen, whatever you want as long as it doesnt appear somewhere else in ur drawing. copy the guy.
go back to your gradient tab. ensure that col2 is set as that bg colour you picked (lilac for me). have "transparent selection" enabled. paste your guy in. cue fanfare
TIP 6) advanced superimposter
Tumblr media
the great thing about this method is u can put multiple gradients in multiple areas of the image. this is where it gets all japanese printmaking type of shit. ukiyo-esque
all you need to do is make another canvas with a new gradient, ensure col2 is set as the colour you want to replace, then paste your original piece onto the new gradient. now my guy has a soft fade. you can do this as much as you want. (you could even make a canvas with a texture or photo and paste your drawing onto there)
TIP 7) "sketch layer"
Tumblr media
so as you now know, col2 is what is removed when you click "transparent selection". which means you can also remove any instance of a colour from ur drawing. which means you can have a unique colour for sketch layer and remove it from the drawing later. i admittedly dont do this but it is a great trick to have.
now combine this with lowering your dpi for smoother lines. may seem obvious but it helps. its like a free stabiliser whenever u want.
TIP 8) rainbow art
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now this is where you can get dizzee rascal "bonkers". check out my small and shitty rainbow trick. you can select anything and hold down shift, then drag with left mouse, to turn that selection into its own brush. i even did it with a guy. and you can of course do this with a photo as well.
🙂well that it for now. hope you liked it thanks for reading now back to your regularly scheduled tgcg programming

U.A. High School Field Trip Around Japan: Day 1 Translations
To celebrate My Hero Academia reaching one hundred million copies worldwide, Shonen Jump is releasing special illustrations in the newspapers of Japan's 47 prefectures, calling it "U.A. High School Field Trip Around Japan." It's being rolled out daily across one-week.
The schedule is:
April 4th, Day 1: Hokkaidō & Tōhōku regions
April 5th, Day 2: Kantō region
April 6th, Day 3: Chūbu region
April 7th, Day 4: Kansai region
April 8th, Day 5: Chūgoku & Shikoku regions
April 9th, Day 6: Kyūshū & Okinawa regions
April 10th, Day 7: Nationwide release
You can see the illustrations on their website here, where they are released digitally the day after their newspaper release, so Day 1 and Day 2 are available right now.
The illustrations depict charming scenes between Class 1-A about something related to each prefecture's culture or history, so I thought it would be really fun to translate them and share a little bit about Japan.
Here we go!
Note: As I mentioned, the illustrations are available on the official site, but they are all rather small, which makes them hard to read, so in this post I have included photographs from fans which I used for my translations. Every photo was available publicly on twitter and I have credited the posters, but please be respectful and don't draw undue attention to these fans. If anyone contacts me wishing for their photo to be removed, I will do so.
Hokkaidō Region
Hokkaidō

Iida: "Heroes! Be ambitious!!' Aizawa: "I'm leaving you behind."
Iida is standing in front of the statue of William S. Clark at Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, a scenic spot in Sapporo. Clark worked with the Japanese government to found Sapporo Agricultural College (now Hokkaidō University) in 1876; he is a very famous figure in the history of the region. The statue is inscribed with a quote attributed to him as he left Japan: "Boys, be ambitious!"
Tōhōku Region
Aomori

Dark Shadow: "Fumikage!! I GOT ONE!!" Tokoyami: "The allure of forbidden fruit which tastes so sweet..." Dark Shadow: "One simply cannot resist!" Asui: "Tokoyami-chan sure likes apples, huh?"
Agriculture is huge in Aomori, and specifically they are famous for their apples, contributing about 60% of Japan's entire apple production. Raw apples, jams, juices, desserts, etc., they are everywhere in Aomori, and fyi, they are all absolutely delicious. The sweetest, richest, freshest apples I've ever had in my life were the ones I had here! Dark Shadow is right, one simply cannot resist!!!
Iwate
Tumblr media

Todoroki: "I can have as many bowls as I want, right?" Endeavor: "SHOUTOOOOO!!!" Kouda: "Todoroki-kun!! Your dad said he wants to eat with you, too!!" Todoroki: "Check, please."
Todoroki is eating wanko soba, a specialty from Iwate where it's basically an all-you-can-eat. The soba is served in many small bowls, and you slurp them up and immediately get served more. The verb he uses, ikeru, is one people also use for "holding your liquor well," which I personally found hilarious. "Oh yeah, I can hold my noodles."
Miyagi
Tumblr media
Ashido: "Teacher, what's wrong? You keep lollygagging about!" Aizawa: "Kittykittykitty..." Shouji: "Anybody suspicious around? Nothing has come up in my search for enemies." Iida: "We're leaving you behind, teacher."
Miyagi is famous for being home to Tashirojima, the so-called "Cat Island" where cats outnumber people. Iida gets revenge!!
Akita
Tumblr media
Hagakure: "Namahage faces are so scary!!" Kaminari: "Looks just like Bakugou, don't it." Bakugou: "THERE'S NO RESEMBLANCE AT ALL, I'LL SEND YOU FLYING!!" Sero: "He's a rotten kid who looks just like a Namahage!"
Namahage are frightening folkloric figures from Akita's New Year's festival. Men wear big demon masks and straw coats and wield a (fake) weapon; they march through the streets or knock on doors to scold misbehaving children, asking if there are any "warui ko," (naughty/rotten/bad kids), which is what Sero calls Bakugou.
Yamagata
Tumblr media
Yaoyorozu: "Oh, tranquility! Penetrating the very rock, a cicada’s voice." Kaminari: "Jirou! How about you put your earphones on that rock?" Jirou: "Are you stupid?"
Yaoyorozu is reciting a famous poem by Basho Matsuo written when he visited the Buddhist temple, Risshaku-ji (also called Yamadera, meaning "mountain temple"). This translation is by Helen Craig McCullough. Risshaku-ji, a National Historic site, is home to a number of beautiful buildings and statues built into the mountainside; temple history claims a lineage back to the 9th century. The trail up to the temple consists of 1,015 steps; I visited in winter, which made it quite the precarious climb!
Fukushima
Tumblr media
Kirishima: "This right here is what I should be aiming for!!" Aoyama: "A fateful encounter~!" Bakugou: "When I said 'just being able to keep standing through anything makes you crazy strong,' this ain't what I meant!!"
Kirishima is looking at rows of okiagari koboshi, which are traditional papier-mâché dolls popular in Fukushima's western Aizu region. They are weighted so that no matter what you do to them, they pop right back up to standing!
That's all for Day 1! I'm still translating Day 2 and collecting Day 3's as they roll in, so please look forward to those. :D

So at first, this was a reblog of a different post, but I am now making it an original one for greater reach. Be warned that it's going to be quite long.
So, we all know and love the promotional comics of our Wii boxers, like this one about Glass Joe:
Tumblr media
You might have never questioned its origin, and neither did I when I first encountered it a year ago. I just assumed that Nintendo officially published it in a guide, because that's what every source about them that I've read was implying.
But then I learnt that these translations aren't official at all. They were apparently done by the Tumblr user @boink-the-joiner in 2013, whose blog seems to be unfortunately deleted.
And then I was informed of the existence of this image by my friend @fan-mans (Charlie):
Tumblr media
He said he originally found it on Tumblr, though he didn't give me the link to where he got it from. (It happens to be included at the very start of this post.)
But this supposed "original version" seemed fishy to me for several reasons:
If this is the "original" Japanese version, and no "official" English one exists that was published alongside it, why are the sound effects written in the Latin alphabet?
Why is the authorship at the bottom in English? And isn't that the exact same font as in the well-known English version?
Why is it read left-to-right? Shouldn't it be flipped from the English version? Wouldn't it make more sense for Mac to punch him with his right arm and for Joe's hair to be more often on his right side than the left, and to first put on the left boxing glove, and hold the coffee cup in his right hand?
Why is there a red rectangle in the middle right?
Charlie said that all of this was because Nintendo was catering to an American audience, but never actually published the guide outside of Japan. (Apart from the red rectangle, which was apparently a part of the website that image originally came from, but he didn't have a link to that either.) I didn't believe it at first, because it just seemed like an incredibly stupid pair of decisions to me.
But today, I found this webpage. It's a blog post talking about strategy books for Nintendo games, and includes this image:
Tumblr media
This is it! This is proof that Nintendo printed the comic to be read left to right in the original Japanese version!
There was that little bit of doubt in my mind though. What if the copy that shows the actual pages of the comic is in English? The quality is so low...
Tumblr media
...but the kana here are clear enough.
That isn't the end of the story. Shortly afterwards, I came across this webpage:
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE ORIGIN OF THAT JAPANESE VERSION OF THE JOE COMIC ABOVE! The red rectangle was, indeed, holding up a textbox.
Anyway, the full website can be found here, and includes a few other materials, such as this part of a guide on Title Defense Von Kaiser:
Tumblr media
Sadly, the website only includes Joe's comic, and I haven't found the original Japanese versions of anyone else online, so currently, you'd have to own the guide to know what they look like.
Also, out of curiosity, I decided to use the Wayback Machine to see if the site has ever been modified, but it just wasn't archived there at all. Not even a single snapshot. So I went ahead and preserved what it currently looks like.
The website itself seems to belong to the company that published the guide, Enterbrain, a division of Kadokawa Future Publishing, which is a part of the Kadokawa Corporation. The names "Ebten" and "Famitsu" seem to be related to it as well, but I have yet to figure out exactly how. The full Japanese title of the book is パンチアウト!!完全クリアーガイドブック, and its ISBN is 978-4-7577-5067-8. At least according to these listings.
Not all questions about the comics have been answered. For instance, we still aren't quite sure why Nintendo (or Enterbrain, anyway) decided to flip them. And our translator Boink had to have the copies of all of the Japanese comics, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to translate them! What if they are reachable somewhere else, and we can ask them if they still have the original scans?
More information might come as I (and hopefully others) research more.

;Where to read Enstars! Mainstory/Events/Scouts stories
Because I am a bit bored today and doesn't have the motivation to get back writing, I decided to share this a little information where you can read the Ensemble stars english translations that were taken down due to some copy-right and shit. I am fully aware that some of you must be absolutely devasted as hell, especially the newcomers who is still new to Ensemble stars. You will be grateful for the assistance I am about to give you, saving you the time it would take to search Enstars english translation, Anyhow- shall we get started fellas?
(1) Okay, In order to find the English translations, you must first search "Wayback Machine" this is where you are going to be able to read the translations (You can also read Enstars!! here, however the translations hasn't been finished because it got removed)
Tumblr media
(2) Once you are on the website, the next step is you should do is search for "Ensemble stars wiki fandom" the english one okay? not that one from japanese one etc. Ehem- after you've done the search, the next thing you got to do is copy the link
Tumblr media
(3) After that, you simply need to paste the link into to the search bar like in the image above. Then, for obvious reasons, you must click "Browse History."
Tumblr media
(4) The moment you click it, you will be directed to this. It will display the years, months, and days that the Enstars fans updated the English wiki, along with any translations.
Tumblr media
Step Five: Click the year 2021
Tumblr media
(5) Scroll down to August, after that. the next thing you have to do click is day 18.
Tumblr media
(6) Once you click the day 18, you will see this. then the next thing you have to click again is- 00:33:08. Please click the top option, okay??
Tumblr media
(7) Blah, Blah, Blah. Once you've clicked '00:33:08' this will appear on your screen, click story, then click Ensemle stars(!) or Ensemble Strars(!!) Then it will show the mainstory, Event & Scout story and so forth. At that point, you could read the entire english translation of Enstars! with your heart contents, there is no need to struggle and hurriedly seek the translations on Google, pretty neat :DD
Tumblr media
It will show you this when you clicked the Main Story
Tumblr media
And then it will show you this if you clicked the Event & Scout story, all events and scouts are complete in Ensemble Stars! I think? Oh and btw you can read the Reminiscence event or scout in "Timeline"
(Note): That's all I have for now. I hope this was helpful and that I was able to explain it well. Let me know if you have any more questions. Please feel free to enquire in my blog. Goodbye!
(Edited Note): In all honesty, you don't need to follow all of these steps considering that I've provided the Link, Lmao. How stupid of me~ By the way, when you have a poor wifi connection, Way Back Machine frequently takes a long time to load. therefore I advise you that you need to have a high-speed internet connection.

Ranking the books I read in Japanese this year
It’s the end of the year and I don’t think I’ll be finishing any more Japanese books this month, so I thought it would be fun to rank what I read! I read twelve novels in Japanese this year, hitting my goal (but not quite reading one a month). There won’t be twelve rankings here, though, because I read multiple books from the same series and will be combining those.
9. コーヒーが冷めないうちに - 川口俊和: This book just didn’t do it for me. I listened to it on audiobook in February for a target language listening challenge and got stuck in a vicious cycle of not paying attention because the story was boring me and being bored of it because I wasn’t paying enough attention. Most other people I’ve seen who have read it in Japanese also thought it was boring, though, so I’m not mourning any loss.
8. 宝石商リチャードの謎鑑定 - 辻村七子: I really wanted to like this series but the negatives outweighed the positives so much that I only read the first volume. The most damning part of this for me was that I couldn’t stand the writing style. It was extremely confusing, and having a language barrier on top of that just made it miserable. I’m really glad I read this with others because I was not the only one who found the writing style to be ridiculously confusing for a book that doesn’t even handle confusing or difficult topics. Seriously, the writing was so bad that I considered continuing the series in English. But the characters were good.
7. あん - ドリアン助川: Now we get into the books that I enjoyed, just not as much. I liked this book well enough, but it was just a bit middling. I wasn’t overly invested in the characters or story and I found myself wondering how on earth this story could go on for another hundred pages. It was sweet, but ultimately I don’t think the story will stick with me at all.
6. ちょっと今から仕事やめてくる - 北川恵海: This was another audiobook read and although I know I enjoyed it, I really don’t remember much about it. I’m also not sure if the twist, which I did think was really good, actually happened or was something I misunderstood (I’m pretty sure I understood it though). Overall, this one goes on the to-reread pile, just as soon as I can find a physical copy of it.
5. 旅猫リポート - 有川浩: This was an adorable story perfect for cat lovers, but the end had me a little bored. Honestly though, it was quite the experience to go from being a bit bored to crying my eyes out in the span of ten pages. The writing style and the main cat’s perspective was super charming as well.
4. 人間失格 - 太宰治: This was my first classic in Japanese and wasn’t as difficult as I expected. Dazai’s writing style is a pain in the ass, but I will admit that it started to grow on me as the book went on and now I find it endearing. It also wasn’t as depressing as I had heard it was, and I really enjoyed getting a perspective of that time period.
3. 美しい彼 - 凪良ゆう: I only read one volume of this, probably exclusively because I suddenly couldn’t stand romance when I had fifty pages left of this. What can I say, I love a good toxic gay romance. The writing style is chronically readable and the story is super engaging.
2. No. 6 - あさのあつこ: I’m a fan of the anime for this and the novels have not let me down. I’ve only read two so far, but the story and characters are super gripping. I really love the emphasis on dialogue in this series, I really feel like it makes the characters pop more. The only problem I have is this odd quirk in Asano’s writing style, where the majority of the series is told from third person point of view, but will suddenly switch to first person point of view for a single sentence. It’s not enough to deter me, but it is a little odd to see.
1. キノの旅 - 時雨沢恵一: My number one favorite read in Japanese this year and no one should be surprised. I’m a massive Kino fan and read three volumes this year. I love books that I can analyze the hell out of and this is exactly that. Additionally, I think the writing style and the way both Kino and Hermes are characterized adds so much to both the stories and the underlying meanings that Shigusawa is trying to get across.

what we used to be | XV
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eli Moskowitz x Fem!Reader
Summary: You didn't think joining Miyagi-Do would end your friendships. But thankfully, you're making new ones.
Warnings: dojo rivalry, karate training, swearing, mentions of heartbreak
Word Count: 1.8k
A/N: A short chapter but its a good one! Have ch 16 done but I'm gonna give it some time to post cause then it'll give me time to edit ch 17. But we're closing out season 2 with ch 17 and season 3 is next! I already have up to season 4 planned out and a little written, still brainstorming for season 5 and even s6 lol!
Thank you to those who already reblog and comment, I see you and I love you all for it!
I don't consent to this work being copied, translated or reposted.
You frowned as another message to Aisha and Tory went unread. A few days ago, they were blowing up your phone, asking if you were okay. You were guilty that you didn’t respond, but you were going through so much heartbreak. You didn’t want to bother.
Now that you were part of Miyagi-Do and you felt happier, you decided it was time to reach out, the only thing—your friends weren’t responding.
Defeated, you walked through the dojo, phone pressed against your ear as it rang. Relief filled you when Aisha answered.
“I’ve been worried sick, you guys haven’t been answering,” you began.
Two voices scoffed.
“So now you’re worried?” Tory asked in disbelief.
“Of course, I am,” you furrowed your brows. “You guys are my friends.”
“Funny, I didn’t know traitors are classified as friends,” Aisha accused.
Confusion filled you. “What are you talking about?”
Tory muttered under her breath and she was annoyed, allowing Aisha to answer.
“We saw you hanging out with Miyagi-Do the other day and we confirmed with Moon that you joined,” Aisha said.
“We thought you just left Cobra Kai, but joining the enemy?” Tory questioned, disappointment filled in her tone.
“I didn’t think I was going to join Miyagi-Do,” you defended.
“So what? You accidentally joined?” Aisha scoffed. “Sorry about you and Hawk breaking up but joining Miyagi-Do is a low blow. Enjoy your new friends,” she said before hanging up.
You stared at your phone in disbelief.
“Everything alright?” Sam asked, holding onto the punching bag to stop it. She glanced at you with wonder, her brow raised and blue eyes sparkling in the sunlight.
“Aisha and Tory completely blew me off, some friends,” you shook your head. “Sorry, I know you don’t like Tory.”
You frowned, knowing their history. But after what had happened, you didn’t like her so much either.
“Don’t apologize, if they can’t see you’re trying to be better, then that’s on them,” she shrugged before going back to her warm-ups, her punches becoming stronger.
You shrugged off your backpack, warming up alongside her until the rest of the guys showed up.
Mr. LaRusso was nowhere to be seen and with the summer heat, you all made it under a tree in the dojo. Still, the shade wasn’t enough to keep you from burning.
“Oh God, it’s so hot out,” Demitri gasped. “I’m sweating in places I didn’t even know had pores,” he wiped his forehead against your shoulder.
You grimaced at the sweat, shrugging him off.
“Alright guys, get out from under that tree. It’s time to work,” Sensei said.
You all groaned as you got up, the small movement troubling in the excessive heat.
“Mr. LaRusso, it’s like 100 degrees out,” Robby complained. “Can’t we take it easy today?” He was saying what you were all thinking.
“Are you kidding? This heat wave is a gift. Today you are going to experience Shochu-Geiko,” he smiled.
You arched a brow.
“Like the car insurance?” Chris asked.
“Shochu-Geiko is a Japanese exercise where you train during the hottest days of the year,” he explained. “It’s about pushing yourself to the limit. The fight isn’t always gonna come when it’s 75 degrees and breezy.”
“Aren’t we supposed to avoid the fight?” Sam questioned.
You nodded. The whole reason you joined Miyagi-Do in the first place was to stop fighting.
“Sometimes you can’t,” he sighed. “Someday, the fight might come to you. And I want to make sure you’re ready,” he gazed hopefully. “So today, we’re gonna see what Miyag-Do is made of.”
That’s how you found yourselves formed in a circle out front. The sun beating down as Robby stood in the center, waiting for Mr. LaRusso to call out a number.
“Two!”
One of your classmates ran towards Robby but he punched him right in the chest, sweeping his leg and sending him to the ground.
Everyone reassembled.
“Five!”
Sam blocked Robby’s kick before spinning around and landing one straight on his abdomen. “Got you,” she smiled, their gaze lingering.
You sent Demitri an amused glance, one he didn’t match as he let out a groan.
“Alright, Demitri’s turn. Come on, Demitri get in there,” Sensei encouraged.
He reluctantly sighed before going in the middle. He raised his fists before Mr. LaRusso called a number out.
“Three!”
It didn’t take much for Chris to punch him in the stomach.
Figuring it was just a rough beginning, you waited for the next number, which happened to be yours.
“Seven!”
You lunged towards him. You wanted to give Demitri a chance to fight you off but it was so easy sweeping your leg and watching him fly to the ground.
“I hate this!” Demitri groaned.
“Alright, get up!” Sensei encouraged.
You offered your hand, helping him up. “Sorry, Demitri.”
He reluctantly forgave you, putting his weight on you as you made it back to your spots.
“Can we please take a break? This heat is brutal,” Sam sighed.
You all agreed.
“You guys want to cool off?”
“Alright, I think I can accommodate that,” he grinned.
You were hoping for a trip to the pool, not a freaking freezer storage.
“So, you couldn’t take the heat of Shochu-Geiko, perhaps you’ll find Kangeiko more to your liking,” he smiled with that same grin from earlier.
You shivered as you stood in the middle of the room, regretting you wore a tank top today.
“There are no “geikos” that take place in a spa?” Sam asked, the cold evident in her breath.
“It’s not about the heat or the cold. It’s about adapting to the environment around you and using that to your advantage” he said. “Look around, what do you see?”
“Frozen London Broil?” Chris asked.
You snickered.
“No, not the meat, look past that. I see the exhalation of breath,” he pointed to Sam. “The twitch of a muscle,” he glanced at Robby. “The shift of a stance,” he pointed to Demitri. “If you lean into the cold, it will heighten your senses,” he said. “And then you’ll anticipate the moment before your opponent strikes and you’ll always be ready,” he concluded.
You understood what he meant, noticing signs too.
His phone began ringing, hesitating to answer before he told you all to circle up, taking the call.
Now ready, you stood in your place. You watched Sam move about in the circle, looking out for obvious clues. She blocked Chris’s strike before Robby’s turn. They both battled, neither hitting the other and they stopped as they got lost in each other’s eyes.
You used to look at Eli that way. Your heart ached, memories flooding through but they were interrupted when Mr. LaRusso interrupted.
“All right, let’s get Demitri in there,” Mr. LaRusso said.
“Alright, here goes nothing,” he sighed. “Literally.”
He got kicked right in the stomach.
You sighed out in slight disappointment, knowing he had it in him.
“I can’t do it, Mr. LaRusso. Between the cold and the shouting and the hole in my sock. I’m not sure when that happened but it’s really uncomfortable,” he began complaining.
You rolled your eyes. Knowing your friend, he always had something to complain about.
“Demitri, you are the most neurotic person I know. You always expect the worst,” Sensei approached him.
Demitri sighed in agreement, a bit reluctant about it though.
“But you can use that to your advantage. It means you anticipate. Think of it like a spidey sense,” he stated.
“Actually in the comics, they call it Spider-Sense,” your friend corrected.
“Look, Demitri, this isn’t about who’s fastest and who’s strongest. It’s about instincts, using what’s in here,” he pointed to his head, your friend getting it now.
With some confidence, he took his stance, raising his fists.
“Two!” Mr. LaRusso called out.
Demitri noticed Chris, blocking his first strike and his second before he punched him in the gut.
You cheered for your friend, and the rest of the class too.
Unfortunately, he didn’t get the next person.
“Baby steps! It’s alright!” Mr. LaRusso reassured.
You patted Demitri on the back, the rest of the class crowding around you.
~
“Sam and I are more like acquaintances than friends,” you said.
It was unexpected to have Moon reach out. Knowing your situation with Aisha and Tory and now barely knowing Sam, it was good to have a friend.
“I’m sorry about telling Aisha that you joined Miyagi-Do, I didn’t think this rivalry was that bad,” she said, frowning as she sat on her bed.
“Don’t worry about it, I guess I would’ve had to tell them sooner or later,” you shrugged, sitting across from her.
“Listen, I’m glad we’re doing this, I really meant what I said about being friends. I did want to give you space though,” she offered, tipping her head to the side.
“Thanks, Moon,” you smiled.
It’d been a few months since she apologized before the All Valley. You never considered reaching out, still hurt that she wasn’t true to her word about showing you she was serious. But now she is and better late than never, right?
“So how are doing? With the breakup and everything?” She searched your eyes.
“Heartbreaking,” you hummed self-deprecatingly. “Eli was the first boy I ever loved, love,” you corrected. “I have karate as a distraction, but honestly, sometimes I just want to reach out,” you sucked in a breath. “Am I crazy?” You glanced at her.
“Not at all,” she shook her head. “It’s normal to experience that after breaking up. And considering how long you’ve known Hawk, your souls are connected. Best friends, boyfriend-girlfriend, first loves,” she listed, growing giddy. “I can’t imagine having a close bond with someone and it would suck to be apart even if it’s for the best,” she explained.
“That makes sense then,” you raised a brow. “The longest I spent without Eli was when he’d go to sleepaway camp with Demitri. That was only for a few weeks, this has been almost two months,” you hummed, shocked at the realization. “Thanks for being a friend,” you smiled genuinely.
“It’s nothing,” she giggled. “But as a friend, I have something I want to give to you,” she said, reaching under her bed and pulling out a wrapped gift. “I had this saved for the right moment. You’re right when you said talk is cheap,” she handed it to you.
You hesitated, eyeing her weirdly before you took it and unwrapped the gift, finding a lime green sketchbook.
“Moon, you didn’t have to,” you gasped slightly.
“I did,” she stopped you. “I hurt you, Y/N. I destroyed your property and I can’t undo what I did, but I want us to start new,” she sincerely said.
You grinned, leaning in to hug her and you felt happy as she returned it.
“Thank you,” you beamed. “It does mean a lot.”

Currently Watching - January
aka The Masterlist
Because I love a good little list - in alphabetical order! 😊
Regularly updated during the month, latest update 27.01.2024
A little link to my favorite bl-tropes-collection 💙
I am happy about gif-requests 🌼
Here you can find all of my gifs.
And if you want to show me something, just let me know with #josistag
At the end you can have a look at what we can expect in January with a MDL link and a link for a trailer (if avaible).
This is guaranteed to contain spoilers!
1. Cherry Magic (7/12 on Viu - Thai)
I love the japanese version and I try to not compare those two with each other. And I really like this version. I love TayNew together and the chemistry is so chemistrying. Even though I don't like GMMTV and the japanese network for their contract and copy right shit, I appreciate the english subtitles on Viu so we international fans still can enjoy the show. And I do enjoy it so much!
2. Cityboy_Log (11/? on Youtube - Korean)
Soon-to-be Idols, actors and models vlog their days of photo shoots and meetups and how they fall in love with each other. It is surprisingly good and the acting is excellent. It really feels like a "real" vlog and that is what we are all here for. I really enjoy those four men on my screen.
3. Cooking Crush (6/12 on Youtube -Thai)
I have to admit beside Not Me, I am not the biggest fan of OffGun. Their slapstick humour is just not mine. The episodes got quite better with time. It is not a much watch for me, but I like it.
4. Dead Friend Forever (1/12 on iQiyi - Thai)
Do I like horror? Nope, not at all. But so far I had fun with the first episode. Everytime there was some suypence I just looked away and as long as there are no creepy sounds I am good. The plot gives such a typical highschool/college horror vibe and I kind of like it.
5. For Him (1/12 on iQiyi - Thai)
I don't know if I will keep up with this one. Actingwise it is not that bad. We have to wait a bit for a deeper story. Right now it is just friends with benefits and I really hope there is something more to come. But a safe-sex-policy! I like that. And I forgot about this one... Guess it was a little bit much these past weeks. I don't know if I'll drop this at the end of the month or not...
6. Happy Ending (1/3 on Youtube)
In Strongberry we trust. Do I have to say more? I enjoyed the first episode. It is a miniseries about two highschool classmates who obviously like each other. One of them is remembering their time together in school as he is scrolles though his old diary. It has a nostalgic feeling.
7. Love for Love's Sake (6/8 on Gaga)
Oh I love this one so much! I missed a good korean bl! And now I wish I could have waited until it finished airing so I don't have to wait for them to finally fall in love. And I loooove Tae Myung Ha's voice so much! I love is character. And the plot is something unique and I am really interested where this is going! Just so good!
8. Pit Babe (11/13 on Youtube - Thai)
Ladies and Gentlemen! We have an Omegaverse! I am still in shock! I usually don't dive into the omegaverse, but I did read some webtoons. I am curious how they'll play it out. What the hell was this conversation about wanting kids? Is there mpreg? Why do I have to think about such stuff... It would be something different indeed. And as far as I can tell, this is going a direction I never thought I would go, but I go down that road anyway.
9. Playboyy (9/14 on Gaga - Thai)
I am intrigued! I needed to call my best friend and tell her about what I have seen. Not just the amount of sex and masturbation and wet dreams, but the way it is filmed. I am intruígued! It looks like a romantic dream combined with porn. It is so artsy and it feels like watching a ballet. In it the dance explains the plot and here the sex, the camera, the lightning and everything around the plot describe the plot. It is so good!
10. Sahara Sensei to Toki-kun (5/8 on Gaga - Japanese)
Toki is a little bit over the top for me, a little bit too goofy, but the obverall first impression was not that bad. And to be honest who didn't have a crush on a teacher during their school time? Mine was my german teacher in 10th grade. He was young and he wore leather pants. He was cool and really good at his job. I loved learning at that time.
11. Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka (2/10 on Gaga - Japanese)
Love at first sight and a confession in the first episode. I hate the MDL comment section, saying Soga isn't pretty, and having a not so good looking actor playing that role seems interesting. What is wrong with people? First of all: He is damn pretty and second: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I liked the first episode and I am looking forward to the next one.
12. The Sign (10/12 on Youtube - Thai)
This series is so stunning. Visually very pleasing and storywise interesting. Does the latest conflict bewteen Phaya and Tharn was solved too smooth, to easy? Yes. Do I hate the doctor? Yes. Am I rooting for Phaya and Tharn? For sure! But I want more of those mystical creatures!
Finished in January
Series
BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita: Crank Up Hen (3/3 on Gaga- Japanese)
I loved this one so much! This series gave me so much joy! I wasn't expecting this being so funny! It is hilarious, a little bit cringy, but for the right amount and not over the top. The characters are lovable and the managers are the best 😂 I want a spin-off please! This is a 10/10 for me
Twins (12/12 on Gaga - Thai)
It started strong for me, but after the main couple got together and there was this whole plot with Sprite not telling First the truth and Zee being a total asshole and this whole story, it lost me a little bit. I love a good enemies to lovers plot and til them became lovers, everything was fine. And they did reconsile really fast... it felt too rushed. But I still like the show. So I give this a 7 out of 10 for now.
Last Twilight (12/12 on Youtube - Thai)
I really wanted to love this til the very end. I really want to give this series a 10. I really only want to say nice things about it 😭 I loved everything about this series, he acting, the story, the main couple, the side couple, everything... until episode 11 happend. It just lost me. First I thought it was because of me, because I was a little bit cold hearted that day, but no. The feeling didn't go away that everything was to much... to over-emotional. And then episode 12 aired. And I yelled Fuck You at my screen. And every good emotion I had about this series was gone in a second. Perhaps I just pretend that the series ended with episode nine and Day going full blind and they managed their life together as a happy couple and their normal obstacles to overcome. 10 out of 10 for episodes 1-9 and 4 out of 10 for episode 10/11 and 1 out of 10 for episode 12.
Movie
Short Film
Dropped/On-Hold in January
7 Days before Valentine (1/12 WeTV)
I only watched the first episode and I couldn't stand Sunshine. After that I didn't come back. Perhaps I'll give it a try when it's finished airing. I don't know yet...
Looking forward to in January
Ossan's Love Returns (Jan 5th)
Time - Trailer (Jan 9th)
Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka (Jan 11th)

who’s excited for stats so far?? i bet none of you are but i’m inflicting them anyway! ...under a cut.
so far, though, we have 198 separate submissions across 166 works!
so far the longest submission piece is 551 words long! wow! there are also another 3 submissions that are over 300 words long, and one piece has 797 words across 7 submissions! the shortest submission, to contrast, is 5 words long! that’s also great!
there are currently 4 artists that have had 3 pieces of art each submitted, and 8 artists that have had 2 pieces. that means there’s currently 137 other artists! oh sorry, while i was drafting this post we got a fourth submission for one of the four.
how about things anyone can go look at? there are currently 7 pieces of public art that have been submitted! four of them are from canada (and 3 are from the calgary specifically), one is in the netherlands, one is in spain, and one is in new york. the fourth canadian one also has copies in spain, japan, and arkansas. there are also 3 submitted buildings! two are in spain, and one is in thailand!
gender! we’ve got 122 pieces from male artists, and 32 pieces by female artists! yes that doesn’t add up to 166, the other 12 are either multiple artists, unknown artists, or i felt like a creeper trying to trawl through their tumblr/website and it wasn’t in their bio. sadly, we don’t have any openly trans, nb, or otherwise genderqueer artists submitted (where openly is “i could find it in the same 5 second google search to determine nationalities”)
even more niche stats! the largest submission (that isn’t a building, a cave, or public art) is 2.15 m (7 ft 1 in) x 34.14 m (112.0 ft) and weighs 4 tons! close behind it is another that's approximately 3.7m x 25.2m (12ft x 72.9ft) but weighs significantly less! i did not feel like mathing which had more square footage. the smallest submission (that is, a physical piece in real life, digital art can be insanely small) is 5.9 x 6 cm (2 5/16 x 2 3/8 in.)!
how about locations? excluding the multiple copies ones, there are 32 pieces located in the united states, 9 in spain, 8 in france, 6 in canada, 5 in england, 4 in italy, 3 each in russia, australia and mexico, 2 each in the netherlands, wales, scotland, and ireland, and 1 each in israel, finland, germany, portugal, poland, japan, austria, ecuador, thailand, latvia, singapore, belgium, and argentina! i know that doesn’t add up but there’s a lot of pieces in private collections, owned by the artist, or we just couldn’t find their location, sadly.
artist nationalities get a lot more variable! i did my best to look up every artist i could and include their birth country and the country they did their works in! except john singer sargent because he just didn’t want to settle down and i didn’t want to give him like six different countries.
starting off, we have 43 submissions by american artists! 18 by french artists, 17 by english, 8 each by canadians and italians, 6 each by russians and spaniards, 5 each by chinese, irish, and germans, 4 each by dutch, mexican and belgians, 3 by latvians, 2 each by finnish, polish, scottish, malay, serbian, and armenians, and 1 each by portuguese, japanese, austrian, ecuadorian, thai, swiss, argentine, cuban, kazhak, colombian, danish, and iranian!
i do not currently have stats for jewish artists for you, because i forgot to write it down my first time through wiki, and now i have to go through all ~140 articles and websites again. relatedly: there are 8 works by known-to-be-gay artists, but i’m already running into wikipedia going “well he sure did a lot of male nudes but he also might have had relationships with women” and i am feeling uncomfortable poking through people’s private lives so... i hope you don’t mind it i stop... counting..... i mean if they’re open about it i’ll write it down still.
how about the ages of works? there are 4 things from before the 1400s, 3 from the 1400s, 6 from the 1500s, 3 from the 1600s, and 2 from the 1700s! 5 from 1800-1850, 4 from 1850-1880, 10 from the 1880s, and 9 from the 1890s! 9 from the 1900s (that is, 1900-1909), 5 from the 1910s, 5 from the 1920s, 4 from the 1930s, 4 from the 1940s, and 6 from the 1950s! 3 from the 60s, 4 from the 70s, 7 from the 80s, 15 from the 90s, 12 from the new oughts, 17 from the 2010s, and 13 from the 2020s! and three ongoing projects!
and to wrap things up: there are 101 paintings, 12 sculptures, 17 what i’m calling installations (they’re often mixed media or unusual media, i would give examples but i feel like i would bias submissions), 6 photographs, 2 pieces of textile art, and 21 digital arts, drawings, or comics!

Y'ALL, LOOK WHAT CAME IN A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO!!! :3
Tumblr media
It might not look like much, but...
☆(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ* MAGICAL TRANSFORMATION!
Tumblr media
As you can see, the box is actually a collector's box with 4 CDs + a bonus case with a few alternative covers!! ((o(*>ω<*)o)) The included CDs are the Persona 3 Original Soundtrack, the Persona 3 FES Original Soundtrack, Burn My Dread -Reincarnation Persona 3- and the Persona 4 Original Soundtrack! This collector's box was limited to Amazon and Sony Music Shop in Japan, so it's a rare item! Ever since discovering it, I had been stalking it on Surugaya and lost a previous chance... When I got that e-mail a month ago, I started tapping at the speed of light to make sure I would get it this time (and I did uwu)! This is the Amazon version of the box; the Sony Music Shop version is a black box with white letters. I would have been okay with either one, but this was the one I preferred!! \(^o^)/
The other two CDs, which I bought separately, are Persona 3 Original Desktop Accessory (an enhanced CD that, in addition to two music tracks, has wallpapers, a screensaver, and a few voice clips for most of the characters in the game and was given out as a pre-order bonus for Persona 3 in Japan) and the Persona 3 Portable Original Soundtrack! I've already messed around with Persona 3 Original Desktop Accessory, and let me tell you, it is a PAIN IN THE ASS on Windows 10! (•ˋ _ ˊ•) I guess I should have expected as much from a 2006 CD meant to run on the Japanese version of Windows XP, but all I could get copied was the two tracks and most, not all of the voice clips. The wallpapers just straight up refused to copy. I went as far as to download a Windows XP virtual machine... only for the CD to not even be recognized by the VM??? So, I— gracefully— give the fuck up.
I won't be sharing these CDs because, except for Persona 3 Original Desktop Accessory, they are by no means hard to get (or just download elsewhere xD). If you don't want to deal with importing, they're on Amazon, CDJapan, eBay, the English Suruga-ya website, and Goods Republic, among others. If you're familiar with importing, these CDs pop up on any Japanese website you can get CDs from. They're not doujin, and DEFINITELY not in any danger of being lost.
THAT SAID, I'M SO HAPPYYYYY!!! ^^ Gonna go rip the tracks from the rest of the CDs now!

Keroro Movie 4 Deleted Scene: Shion's Prologue
Back in spring 2009, the Keroro movie was about to release in theaters, which left the fandom outside of Japan, myself included, to wait for the DVD release before we could see it. However, at this point I had been learning Japanese for a good few years and decided to import the book through a specialty shop I sometimes went to so I could try reading it.
However, when the DVDs finally released and I got to see the movie itself, I noticed two scenes I had read in the book were missing, one of which was particularly surprising since I had seen fully animated footage from it in the previews that were edited into the opening credits.
I don't remember if there were other deleted scenes, perhaps I'll do a full translation of the book someday (yes, it's the story of the movie, but there's some nice flourishes), I'm not sure where my copy is, but the preview for the e-book version includes both scenes.
This scene in particular takes on an interesting tone when you consider that Shion means "Aster"; both that her nickname is flower related (possibly because of her friendship with Momoka), and that this specific flower signifies regret at how things turned out, but also means grace & wisdom.
For now enjoy the first of the two deleted scenes below the cut, this one was right at the very beginning of the film:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
One year ago. On the outskirts of Paris.
Beneath the lead coloured, overcast sky, church bells chimed and echoed sadly. The time for partings had come.
It was a lavish funeral for the Dracoon family, a noble and ancient, ancient European bloodline. The gathered crowd of attendees spoke in hushed tones about the remaining family.
Ultimately, they were idly gossiping.
Things like "The Dracoon family fortune will go to her, can she manage it?" or "What can she do as just one person?" or "Even though she lost her parents, she doesn't shed a single tear, such a cold girl" Amongst this group, there wasn't a single person you could let your guard down in front of.
The remaining family....
Standing before her parents' gravestones was a young girl, only about 10 years of age. She had been left alone as her parents journeyed to heaven. Lead by the hand of her brawny butler, the girl placed flowers on her mother and father's caskets. The girl kept her lips pressed in a firm line as she looked forward.
While she felt like a gaping hole was opening in her heart, she kept up a brave front, despite seeming as if she could crumble at any moment.
"Lady Felicitashion" Her butler, having read her feelings, leaned in and whispered "It is acceptable to cry during sad times".
"No Pierre. I must not cry, for I am the head of the Dracoon family"
Even if she felt alone, she would not cry. No matter how lonely she was. Even if she she felt unbearably lonely. Even if because of that she became unable to smile.
This loneliness was....
The loneliness of being completely isolated, because nobody could understand how you felt. If she could forget it all, how nice it would be....
And so, our tale begins with the always unchanging everyday life in the Hinata household.

To recount a twitter story, Kenny Lauderdale posted this very normcore review of the English release of Gainax VN Princess Maker 2 from the May 1996 edition of the (Michigan) Times Herald:
Tumblr media
It includes some great quotes, like Japanese professor Etsuko Yamashita believing its existence is a step back for feminism - very amusing given how gender-equal the player base for these games is today! Time marches past us all. Sometimes for the better - it cost $140 in Japan on release!?
But what I found interesting was the art featured - because that isn't Princess Maker 2?
Tumblr media
This is PM2, that girl above is not our player-named protagonist.
Turns out that is art is from Princess Maker 3:
Tumblr media
You can see specific scenes like the beach as well, in case you had any doubt. This is weird though because, well, Princess Maker 3 came out in January of 1997? More than half a year after this article was published! Which means they somehow had access to promotional material for Princess Maker 3? Which to be clear absolutely did exist at the time - in fact, Princess Maker 3 was bought up by Sony as a limited release for their brand-new console the Playstation. PM3 was actually featured on the cover of the first ever volume of the Dengeki Playstation magazine, released in January of 1995 (the PS1 coming out in December 1994):
Tumblr media
Alas I haven't found a copy of this scanned online, so I can't say what it contained. This being two years before the game's release does honestly point to some development hell drama, the timeline for a game back then should not be that lengthy. Man, wonder what was happening at Gainax in 1995 that might have been a distraction...
Still, we have a question of how this American newspaper article got their hands on them. It also seems worthwhile to note that this article is syndicated - it was published in a dozen newspapers across the country around this time, but with different titles and photos to fit each paper's needs. And other papers do have correct Princess Maker 2 screenshots on them!
I have no grand answer here or anything, sorry guys, but I think we can infer it. The article itself actually mentions that a "third one" is now in the works, which is something they would have learned from the publisher of the English version, IntraCorp (they weren't reading Japanese press magazines in 1996!). IntraCorp likely wanted them to mention it because they themselves were going to hopefully license it, assuming the first (well, second) one was successful - this was their first foray into this specific licensing niche, previously making action games like Witchaven II: Blood Vengeance. In early 1996 they sent out copies & press kits to reviewers, and I am guessing that copy almost certainly included - perhaps poorly labeled - promotional material for Princess Maker 3 as well that Gainax had provided them, so they would mention it in the article and seed hype. The harried layout editor at The Times Herald opened the wrong folder and threw them on the page by mistake - after all the author didn't work for him, he worked for the Associated Press. He had no experience with the game to know his error.
We will never know because this is a niche curiosity from almost 30 years ago, sure, but we will also never know because the game being reviewed above...was never released! IntraCorp declared bankruptcy soon after the publication of this article. They were not the localizers themselves - a team of 4 people called SoftEgg were - but their contract with them was binding enough that it left the virtually-finished translated copy in perpetual legal limbo. Eventually it was leaked onto the internet as a form of abandonware a few years later. The hard-working men of America never got to be "Sim Dad" in 1996 unless they were intrepid enough to be UseNet Forum users hunting down and running Japanese-language romhacks.
Which is not a hypothetical, that was occurring. I will leave you all with the opening quote from the rec.arts.anime group's User Manual for navigating your Nihongo copy of Princess Maker 2, preserved still in the roms you can download today:
We all know of Gainax as being the wonderful company that brought us Wings of Honneamise, Otaku no Video as well as multitudes of garage kits and other paraphenelia. However with the release of Princess Maker 2, one might think that their true calling is in computer software! This band of self described otakus which managed to lose almost all their profits in the anime business have come back by releasing several computer games (some of which were on display at Anime Con).
...written, of course, in 1994 :)

student 21's villain academia, pt 1
so. not twst bully!au part 4. it's not canceled don't worry; i'm just having a couple health issues at the moment and this one was closer to being done. i've literally been working on it for 5 days, so... it was time.
this one is a bit slow to get started, as in it still hasn't kicked into action yet, but by part 3 or so you'll see my vision. this is an x gn!reader, so anyone can read it, and no, aizawa is NOT one of the love interests. i'd rather die than ship him with a student. i have no idea if this au has been done before; you don't have all the information yet so don't jump to conclusions about me copying so-and-so. this idea has been rattling around in my brain for like a year so i'm super excited to finally get it out! genre: gn!reader, fluff, found family, romance coming eventually, canon-typical angst trigger warnings: reader has a panic attack word count: 2004
You didn’t really consider yourself one of those ‘crazy anime fans.’ No, you were more subdued in your interests. You didn’t own hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise, nor did you insist on watching the latest episodes right when they aired. And above all, you would never try to force your passion onto others.
Lately you’d been really into a rather popular action anime by the name of Boku no Hero Academia, or My Hero Academia in English. It wasn’t perfect, but something about the characters just sucked you in. They were just kids, only fifteen years old, and suddenly they were faced with enemies backed by a villain even the strongest hero struggled against. Thus, you couldn’t help but feel little ashamed of yourself as you fell asleep to the ending song of the latest episode.
When you woke up, it was very abrupt. You were certain you’d been asleep on your couch, but suddenly you were standing in the middle of a busy street. Not wanting to be stuck there when the light turned green, you hurried to the other side. Was this a lucid dream? You’d never had one of those before, but there wasn’t another plausible explanation.
Taking in your surroundings, all the signs definitely weren’t in English, but somehow you could understand them. Was that Japanese? Huh, all that anime must be rubbing off on your subconscious. You caught sight of a TV inside an electronics store displaying the news. You didn’t know where you were supposed to be, so maybe that could give you a clue.
“Hinata here, reporting in from Musutafu News,” a young woman announced, “just this morning, up and coming villain Bakugou Katsuki wreaked havoc on a suburban neighborhood, completely destroying 8 homes. Can you believe he’s only 15?! Goodness, what has society come to? Fortunately, there were no casualties, but our experts believe it’s only a matter of time. And now, for the weather forecast…”
You tuned out the rest, in a complete state of shock. Bakugou is a villain? What sort of dream is this? Sure, he’s loud and violent and tells people to die on the regular, but he’s not a criminal! Is this some sort of joke? Is your subconscious playing some kind of trick on you? There’s some sort of nagging feeling in the back of your mind, like you should know something about this situation, but you just can’t recall.
You decide to keep walking, instead of staring blankly at the television like an idiot. Maybe you’ll find someone or something that can explain what’s going on. With luck, it’ll be one of the main characters. If you’re really unfortunate, you’ll find someone from the League. But who knows, maybe they’re the good guys here.
After about 10 minutes, it hits you. This is one of those alternate universe thingies! Your cousin, who’s far more invested in the fandom than you are, was trying to explain them to you at a family gathering, but you were only half listening. Now that was a mistake. Even worse, she seemed convinced that some people actually got transported into the worlds of anime! No wonder you weren’t paying attention. Clearly she had a screw or two loose. Yeah, there was simply no way something like that had happened to you. This was a dream, plain and simple.
But then the building right next to you caught fire. You were sure there was nothing before, but there was a fire and it was very, very big and very, very hot. Suddenly this all felt too terribly real. Was it a villain attack? Oh no, you were doomed. You were going to die- you’d only just gotten here and you were already going to die-
“It’s going to be okay,” you heard a gruff voice say.  It was probably Japanese, but you could understand it all the same. “Take deep breaths, one at a time. The heroes are already here, they’re apprehending the villain right now,” you heard him say softly. You did your best to follow his advice. In, pause, out, pause. In, pause, out, pause. After a while, it wasn’t so hot, and you could turn to look at the person who had calmed you down. You weren’t one to judge, but he looked like he needed some help- holy cow that’s Aizawa!!
Okay, you were not expecting that. Sure, you were hoping you’d run into a friendly canon character, but you didn’t think it’d happen that easily! You knew you needed to say something though, or this would be painfully awkward. “I, um,” you spluttered, “I’m a huge fan, Eraserhead. Can I get an autograph?”
“A fan, really? I don’t have too many of those.” He looked pleased, but also a bit confused. That was to be expected, considering he’s an underground hero. “Sure, do you have any paper on you?”
Ah. That was a bit of a problem. You searched your pockets, turning up absolutely nothing, not even your phone. “Nope. Nothing. Guess I won’t be getting that autograph, huh?” You were disappointed, of course, but it wasn’t the end of the world. As messed up as this world seemed to be, you were probably better off not meeting any more canon characters unless they were saving your life. This was just a lucky chance.
“Ah, well, that’s too bad. Hey, kid, you don’t seem like you’re from around here. Are you lost?” Aizawa asked. You did a double take, wondering if it was really that obvious. Kid, though? How old were you?
“Um, yeah, I’m pretty lost, I think. I’m not really from around here,” you vaguely expressed. Even you weren’t sure where here was. You were beginning to fear that this might just be your new reality, but naturally you couldn’t just accept that out of the blue. A large part of you was holding out hope that this was just a crazy dream. Because if Bakugou was a villain in this world, then what did that mean for the rest of the characters?
“You think? Did you hit your head or something? I can take you to the hospital to get it looked at,” he offered. You were pretty sure a concussion was the least of your worries, but sticking with Aizawa seemed safer than being alone in a strange place, at least. He did appear a little suspicious of your condition, but you were only telling the truth. You had no idea what was going on either.
“That might be a good idea. Thank you,” you agreed with a nod. While the doctor wasn’t likely to find any brain damage, you could at least see if you had the quirk factor gene thing or not. The odds were next to zero, but if this was a dream, you might just turn out to be super overpowered!
Yeah, right. Even if you did suddenly find yourself being up to par with some of the main characters, there wasn’t much you could do with it. Public quirk usage was illegal, and it’s not like you’d end up in a hero school with zero documents to prove you actually existed.
You and Aizawa walked in silence, presumably to the nearest hospital. You really hoped he wasn’t also a villain in this world. But if he was, then why would he have helped to calm you down? So, you were probably safe. For now, at least. You couldn’t cling to him forever.
When you reached the hospital, Aizawa took you to the emergency room. You didn’t think you were that much of an emergency, but you couldn’t provide much of a counterargument without revealing too much. What were you supposed to say, anyway? “Oh, hey, by the way, you’re just a character from an anime I watched back home, except for some reason the timeline got really messed up and now Bakugou’s a villain?” As if! He’d think you were crazy!
So instead, you went along with it as you were brought back almost immediately. You weren’t sure if it was because they thought you had a head injury, or because you were with a pro hero. Either way, it wasn’t fair to the other people waiting, those who actually needed help. But again, there was nothing you could do.
Several annoying and probably unnecessary tests later, a doctor came back to your room to speak with you. “Well,” she began, sitting down on a stool, “I have good news and bad news. The good news is that all the tests came back normal. The bad news is, well, none of our staff could find any information on you. Are you sure your name is in our system correctly?”
You knew this would happen, unless the universe magically decided to cover for you. “Yes, they’re correct. I just, I don’t really remember anything else. I know that and some basic information but that’s about it. I don’t even know where I come from, just that it’s not here,” you told her, trying to be as calm as possible. You’d had plenty of time to think about what to do while you were waiting on the results, and you figured amnesia was the best option.
It was true, in a sense, that you didn’t know where you came from. You were beginning to be convinced that this was reality, but you didn’t know how. Was this some sort of parallel universe? You didn’t know how all that physics stuff worked, but that sounded the most likely.
The good news about the timeline being messed up was that you didn’t have to worry about your presence messing things up. You were basically free to do whatever you wanted. You were, however, severely limited by the fact that according to the government, you weren’t a real person.
The doctor and Aizawa shared a look. “Well, I’m going to step out and have a chat with the doctor here about what to do next,” Aizawa said in a tone that didn’t betray anything. That made you nervous. Were you in trouble because you’d said you were his fan? Were you going to be interrogated, or worse, sent off to Tartarus, never to see the light of day again?
No, you’d be fine. Everything would be fine. You just had to focus on your breathing, and try not to think about everything that could go wrong. From what you knew about him, Aizawa wouldn’t turn on you so quickly. You hadn’t done anything wrong.
After a surprisingly brief amount of time, Aizawa re-entered the room alone. The doctor must’ve left to go see other patients. “Hey kid, it sounds like you’ve been through a lot. So until we figure out what to do with you, you’re welcome to crash at my place. I’m guessing you don’t have any school to attend?”
“I don’t know, Mr. Aizawa,” you mumbled. What else were you supposed to say, anyway? Who knows, maybe you could go for a career in acting after all this was over. You’d have plenty of practice by then, that’s for sure. You felt guilty for lying to him, of course, but what choice did you have?
“I figured as much. I’ll talk to the principal at the school I teach at and see if we can’t get you enrolled when the new school year starts two weeks from now,” he supplied. You tried not to let your surprise show on your face. You were going to go to UA?! Nezu would still have to agree, but this was beginning to sound like a classic main character development. You didn’t want this hero academia; especially not when everything could be messed up!
“In the meantime, I’m sure you must be exhausted. Come on, let’s go home,” Aizawa said. Home. That was a nice sentiment. Here you were, in a new world all by yourself, unsure of what was the same and what had changed. But at least you had a place to rest your head.

Part 4: Idiot (Raphael x Reader)
i am free from writers block, but now i cannot stop writing.

——————
You were beyond exhausted, and hunger gnawed at you. The last time you had a proper meal felt like a distant memory. You used to share meals with Tiger Claw in what used to be the mess hall, but you had both grown apart. He favored the mutant version of you, the one he had actually fought alongside and trained with during her formative years. You couldn’t blame him; you were just a mere copy.
Despite your weariness, you summoned what little energy remained to leave headquarters and rendezvous with the turtles. You spared yourself the rooftop acrobatics and ventured through the quiet streets of Chinatown. Most businesses were closed for the night, and you remained concealed in the shadows, clad in your uniform – the only clothing you possessed.
You eventually reached a dimly lit block that seemed nearly abandoned, adorned with graffiti and litter. Amidst this urban decay, a small Japanese-themed restaurant stood untouched. This was the address that Raphael had given you.
“Murakami,” you mumbled the name on the sign, searching for a hint of recognition. When it didn’t ring any bells, you pushed through the Japanese-style doors. The interior was dim, a familiar setting for you. It appeared deserted, except for an elderly man in the corner, diligently sweeping under the tables. His pitch-black glasses revealed to you that he was blind. He greeted you without turning his head.
You were starting to doubt your memory. Was this really the right place?
“Hello…” you trailed off, briefly reconsidering your assumption, “Mr. Murakami?”
“Ah, yes,” he replied, smiling, “that is me.”
You nodded as though he could see it and continued to linger by the entrance. You debated whether to leave or wait for the arrival of the turtles when your stomach growled loudly. Slightly embarrassed, especially when the old man chuckled at you, you decided to sit. “I’ll be right with you,” he announced just before disappearing into the kitchen.
You selected a seat at the bar. You felt entirely out of place as an armed Foot clan member casually sitting at the bar in an old man’s restaurant. You couldn’t even remember the last time you had eaten at a restaurant. You began peeling your mask off of your head when you heard the back door open and then shut, the bell above it ringing sweetly.
It wasn’t long before a familiar bara appeared. Like clockwork, his name rolled off your tongue before you stood. Your mask was long forgotten on the table.
Raphael uttered a short greeting of his own as he came to join you at the bar, sitting one stool away. You cautiously resumed your seat.
Amidst the silence, except for the old man’s humming and clattering in the kitchen, both of you could smell the delicious aroma of a meal being prepared, even though you hadn’t placed an order. You counted the seconds until the silence became unbearable, then spun your chair to face him, only to find that he had done the same.
He broke the silence, “You got a name or somethin’?”
You smiled at him for the first time. ”Or somethin’,” you playfully mimicked his Brooklyn accent. He started to turn away just before you responded with your actual name. He repeated it, and you couldn’t help the way your heart fluttered. It had been so long since you had heard your own name.
“Where are your brothers?” you asked.
He jammed his thumb over his shoulder, and your eyes followed suit. To your surprise, three turtles were comfortably seated at tables near the front door.
Two of them were crammed into a booth, one in orange and the other in purple. You recognized them as Michelangelo and Donatello. When you locked eyes with the terrapin in orange, he smiled and playfully waved his three fingers at you. In response, you stiffly waved back, and he rested his head in his hand, sighing dreamily. His brother was too engrossed in something on the device in his hand.
In the booth behind them sat the turtle in blue, whose piercing blue eyes practically bore into your skull. He seemed uncertain about you and wanted you to know it. He was just as intimidating as his brother, Raph, if not more.
The turtle beside you spoke up again, “We need ya to help us with helpin’ you.”
You gave him your attention once more. It sounded like they had already come up with a plan. “Let’s hear it,” you told him. Instead of Raph speaking, however, the brother in blue spoke for him.
“Karai is eventually going to find out who is giving out intel, and it isn’t going to be pretty. Eventually, you’re going to deliberately be given false information, and we’re not sure if we can save you from her wrath,” he explained, now standing even taller than his brother, “so we need you to help us come up with a different plan.”
As you took in what he had said, Mr. Murakami returned with water for you and sodas for all of the boys except Leo. He received a steaming cup of tea. You all thanked him and waited for him to dip back into the kitchen. You took a sip from your glass, wondering what the story was behind the turtles and this old man before asking what they had in mind.
Leonardo and Donatello took turns explaining their plan to obtain a full layout of the Foot headquarters in order to sneak in and put a stop to Stockman’s experiments, which they believed to be the first step in defeating Karai. You had already considered this and promptly shot down their idea.
“You would be outnumbered and out-planned,” you told them, looking at Raphael. He had been avoiding eye contact and was awfully quiet.
“Outnumbered, perhaps, but out-planned? Please,” Donnie boasted, “they’ve got nothing on us.”
“It’ll just take some time,” Leo added, blowing into his cup.
Still not entirely convinced, you tried to engage Raphael, asking for his thoughts as the leader. Your fingernails drummed against the bartop in anticipation.
He visibly tensed before lobbing his head back with closed eyes. You could see his fists clenching and unclenching in his lap.
It wasn’t long before there was sniggering and then outright laughter.
Leo plopped down on the other side of you, his shell facing the counter as he smiled smugly at his younger brother. You were a little embarrassed, feeling as though you were being left out of some inside joke.
“W-What is it?” you stuttered, looking between the two turtles for clarity.
“Sweet-cheeks,” Mikey giggled, “Leo is our leader.”
“And the oldest,” he piped up beside you. His smug demeanor was a stark contrast to the serious and no-nonsense aura he had just displayed minutes ago. “Did Raph here tell you otherwise?”
You spared the red terrapin further embarrassment and denied his claim and admitted that it was merely a lapse in judgment. Despite your denial, Leo knew otherwise judging from his brother’s initial reaction. He also saw the thankful look Raph sent your way before downing his drink to further cool off.
When Raph slammed his cup back down, he looked between his brothers and remarked, “You guys are ridiculous.”
The subject was quickly dropped when the old man made a reappearance, this time with a tray. There was a bowl of hot ramen, and plates of gyoza.
You were served first, the ramen being yours. There were already a pair of chopsticks at the ready. The boys all received the gyoza.
You bowed your head and thanked Mr. Murakami, the others following suit. Once he disappeared, the boys began to dig in. Raph was several bites in when he realized you had yet to touch your food.
“Not hungry?” he asked after swallowing.
You sheepishly stirred your chopsticks in the bowl, “I don’t have any money to pay for this…”
He chortled, “S’on the house.”
You didn’t have to be told twice.
___
Unfortunately, you were unable to come up with a plan on the spot. It was agreed that it would take time, however Donnie still tasked you with learning more about Stockman’s projects. It would give them the upperhand in the end if they knew what to expect.
You agreed to go through with it, happy to be a spy for the turtles if it meant you didn’t end up becoming an abomination. You answered all of their questions truthfully— and there were many. In the end, the turtles seemed to be more trusting of you which was appreciated. The time to part came, however, Raph lingered behind as per usual, telling his brothers that he would catch up with them at the lair.
Eventually, it was just the two of you.
You both ignored the elephant in the room and made small talk instead. You felt as though you were the one carrying the conversation, but you could feel his desire to learn more about you. It was only natural, you two had encountered one another for many nights, and you were one of the few people in the world who weren’t the absolute bane of his existence.
Plus, you weren’t trying to kill him and his brothers.
“How long are you gonna stay with the Foot?” he asked, taking initiative this time .
“Hopefully, not long at all,” you answered, unsure. There was no ‘leaving’ the Foot. They would hunt you down until your last breath.
“Whaddya plan to do after?”
You remained silent, lost and unsure of yourself. The future was a mystery, and all you could envision was a bleak one, filled with the looming threat of death, both figuratively and literally.
Raphael sensed your emotional turmoil and regretted bringing up the topic. "If anything," he began, swallowing hard, "I'm sure we can help ya figure it out..."
You thanked him but decided not to stay any longer. You picked up your mask and hurriedly left the restaurant.
For some reason, your sudden change in attitude bothered him. He stormed out of the back door, reflecting on the things he could have said and how you might have reacted. He thought about the small lie he had gotten caught up in and how it might have altered your perception of him.
He felt like an idiot. He felt like an even bigger idiot for even caring to begin with.
His brothers were only going to make him feel worse when he got home.

Hanzō quietly picked up the pen that Aizawa had earlier and activated his quirk, copying the exact way Aizawa had spun it around in his hand earlier. Aizawa didn't know this, but he had greatly inspired a troubled soul that day with his words.
As you followed Eraserhead up the stairs and throughout the school, you made sure to take in everything around you. Which turns led where, how long it took you to get to certain areas, the views, and more. So, much more.
So this was the school that was so well known across all of Japan. It was odd for you to actually be on the inside of it yourself. Yes, you had seen pictures of the school from random students' socials (it was natural that a good chunk of students wanted to brag when they got in). But those were merely glimpses compared to actually walking the hallways that those above you had once, and looking out the windows that many others had at one point as well. You wondered just how many people stood in your spot at one point in time, once being a teen themselves. It made you feel peculiarly nostalgic.
The whole school was just as immense as the outside, to which was a pleasant surprise. The doors completely dwarfed your body as you followed Eraserhead throughout the halls, and the windows made you feel as though you were flying everytime you looked out, as they stretched from floor to ceiling and were crystal clear, almost transparent.
It was surreal, almost dream-like. You felt as though you were floating rather than walking, due to wake up any second and have your reality be revealed to have just have been a complex illusion. Sighing somberly, you wished that it was all that simple.
No matter how you hoped for this to end, some small part of you knew that this was your reality now, and that no matter what you did there was no escape. That you were powerless once again. Constantly pushing away that thought was a dangerous game to play, but you didn't think you could bear the weight of anymore dead thoughts weighing atop your shoulders.
Normally you weren't so risky, never being one to play stupid games that only ended in temporary joy from foolish ignorance, but your whole world had toppled over, taking down everything that you had built up with it while all you could do was watch. All you could do was watch. . . You didn't think that there was anything left to risk since it was all gone, so pushing away what hurt was all you had left of you sanity.
You were becoming increasingly disappointed as you followed Eraserhead up more and more sets of stairs, and down more and more hallways. You slightly enjoyed getting to see the school in person as you had always had the curious thought stuck in your head, but you wanted to see everything. There was nothing left to look forward to in life now, so you craved the tiniest crumbs of stimulation and excitement that were tossed in your direction, desperate to satiate the eternal hunger that consumed your mind.
Everytime you walked past a door you couldn't help but feel a piercing pain of curiosity seize you as you wondered what potential it held behind it. A training room? A storage where they held their supplies? Documents? Even a regular classroom? Worlds of discovery were left covered from your pleading eyes as you pushed yourself past what felt like dozens upon dozens of doors.
Eventually you followed Eraserhead up another flight of stairs, but instead of going up even further, he walked down the hallway away from the stairs, and you followed due to the fact that your curiosity was begging your impulse control to release the restraints of discipline in order to ease the self-built tension that was eating away at your mind.
You walked down a few more doors, but eventually made it to a large wooden door with large red letters that cleverly spelled out 'Class 1-A' with the window, and was a tad larger than the other regular doors that you passed as you had to crane your neck back in order to see how far it reached up.
Clinking and clicking into place, Eraserhead turned the keys once they were in place in the lock and with a light groan (whether it out of exhaustion or the weight of the door, you didn't know), he pushed open the door with such a swift yet casual movement it made you wonder just how many times he had done that exact thing. Possibly years, every single morning, and every single afternoon and night.
Once the door was open, you maintained your composure just enough so that it cleverly concealed the bizarre tension of curiosity that the unruly side of your mind has conjured up, to the unfortunate dismay of your disciplined opposite side.
Waiting until after Eraserhead had stepped in you followed and gained your first insight as to the classrooms of U.A. As you looked around, you felt that it looked rather average for a school as important as U.A, but then again it did have a small futuristic feel to the room. The desks were arranged in neat orderly rows, and a podium for speaking was closest to them in the front, to which a teacher's desk sat right behind (though it was closer to the edge of the classroom by the windows- possibly so it wouldn't be in the way). There were more windows on the edge of the classroom, not quite as large as the floor to ceiling ones in the hallway, but still open enough for anyone to get a satisfying view of the world outside.
Tumblr media
This is the actual seating arrangement in the show, the only difference being you'll sit where Hagakure once sat (the empty spot). I don't know where she'll sit, but I won't dwell on that for too long...
*Also that small rectangle is the podium, and there's two entrances to the class, along with two large windows on the side, and two large cabinets at the end of the room.
The room smelled odd, like a light mix of burning plastic and heavily scented lotion or perfume, and although it wasn't bad (in comparison to other smells you knew of), it was a little nausea-inducing during the first few minutes. It was spotless like all others, and you could immediately feel a sense of kinship and connection. You gathered that the feeling came from the little bits of each personality that made a presence in the room, helping to build up the image of a close-knit group.
This worried you a bit, as most groups that you've seen that were extremely close weren't the most open to outsiders, and in worst case scenarios they were able to work together to ask turn against anyone that even a single group member saw as insufficient. Ability to work together strengthened a team's attack, and even if they did let someone new in, they would never have the same bond that the others did. They'd be subjected to loneliness of a different kind, one where they're surrounded by people, yet the group's empty affections would never be enough. . .
Upon further inspection, your started to notice smaller things about the classroom that you were led to. For example, how you noticed the surface of the desk that sat right behind the desk that was on the upper corner next to the windows had odd ashy-looking black marks that were accompanied with a few scratches as well on the chair.
Along with that you noticed that on one of the desks that was in the same row (second row from the front) all the way on the opposite side had odd marks on it as well, like chemical burns, along with random doodles and scribbles on it. Another had some glitter on it, and you saw a little rainy umbrella sticker on a desk as well. It made you wonder... Who sat behind these desks, what were they like?
Your thinking was cut off by a gruff voice suddenly speaking from behind you.
"You know, I don't think I've ever seen you around here. D'you know Shota?"
You quickly spun around, causing the man in turn to jump a bit at your sudden yet silent move, clearly not expecting that response. The man was a complete stranger to you, wearing what you believed was an odd mixture of clothes. He had on a cowboy hat with a large "S" and matching cowboy boots, additionally with it a long red cape that partially concealed his upper torso. What made you a bit wary was the gas-mask like covering that hid his face, only letting out his dread locks from the back.
Tumblr media
Note: Here he is! :-)
"She's new Snipe. Listen, it's a long story that I still have to explain to everyone, but long story short; she's living under my care for now."
Eraserhead tiredly explained, and you were able to sense from his response that he wasn't in the mood for having to give that explanation a number of times more.
"New, huh? How long d'you hafta' watch her for?" The man -who you learned was called 'Snipe'- asked while casually leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed. When he spoke you noticed that he also had an odd accent that you've heard from a few people that were from mainly rural parts of Japan.
Eraserhead sighed, trying to juggle getting some paperwork that he had left in his desk while answering Snipe, along with watching over you.
"I already said it's a long story, Snipe-"
The man cut him off politely while nodding.
"Yeah, I get it, no worries. I've gotta go now, have patrol. Just... Don't pile too much onto yourself, 'lright Shota?".
And after a nod from Aizawa, the cowboy stranger walked off before Aizawa could answer, and you could hear his boots clinking down the hallway as he walked, getting quieter with each step.
This school was full of surprises, and you haven't even been in it for no longer than an hour.
You heard Eraserhead huff out a breath, possibly too overwhelmed with what all he had to do and plan, before explaining to you.
"That was Snipe, he's one of the teachers here. He's a nice guy when you get to know him, just understand that he doesn't like to mess around." Eraserhead said, still reading through a few of his folders that he had. Most of the papers that he needed were already put into his work bag. He gave up and just put the whole folder in his bag, promising to look for the papers he needed when he got home.
Once all of his things were gathered he looked over to you and wondered what he was going to do next, not really having any sort of plan set in his mind. It wasn't really like him to act with such freewill like this, but once things started to spiral and spill out of their borders of predictability and control Aizawa lost his grip on his normal sense of rationality. Time and expectations flowed freely out of his hands as if he was trying to grasp sand, and no matter how much he struggled, it continued to fall.
However, he was used to this. Growing up, life beat him hard with various scenarios and events that marked him with an unrelenting pursuit of invasion of the senses and memories. Over time it hardened his soul and mind, and helped him to grow wise in many different aspects that those older than him still struggled to grasp. Nevertheless, wisdom often comes at a price, and Aizawa was still paying that price and would continue to until his end.
And so, that wisdom and intellect that was gathered over years of vigorous training and taught responses and discipline helped him to maintain some sort of normalcy. He was going through all this this with no plan and no frame of an idea of what to do, walking through life's tightrope without a harness. While it was risky and downright dangerous, he couldn't help but admit that doing something without putting in an overwhelming amount of effort and paranoia to create a plan was sort of freeing in a way. With no harness holding him down, he finally saw what it was like to walk life on his own.
And so this sense of rationality that Aizawa had gathered helped him to fill in the blanks where the plan was empty, and that's what led to you being shown around UA, the very school that you'd have to go to whether you wanted to or not.
Smaller footsteps matched the pace of the larger ones that they were following, both pairs of feet oddly silent when walking due to the vigorous training and discipline that was instilled in the both of them when learning how to behave stealthily in certain situations.
You didn't know what possessed yourself that day, but you unwillingly found yourself doing as you were told without as much complaint and more compliance than you originally had expected of yourself. You believed it to be the sensible thought that informed you to behave since you were at the heart of where heroes were made; i.e mess around and find out.
And you certainly didn't want to find out. It wasn't so much fear as it was more so the rational knowledge of where you stood when it came to power level. It didn't matter how well trained you were, - quirk or not- you understood that you just wouldn't last in a fight with dozens of well-trained professional heroes whose jobs were to take down villains that were similar to you.
You were brought all over the school, starting with the main classrooms of your age (first years), while Eraserhead did his best to explain all the details about the school and how it ran, along with anything else that he believed would help you out and ease the discomfort of jumping into a routine without any knowledge of what awaited you inside. Curiosity was good, but sometimes it was simply downright painful to endure.
You got to see first-hand the places where students were trained, and you were able to somehow spiritually feel the power that radiated from the potential that was already created or undergoing development. Hero schools always intrigued you, as it was an odd thought to think about students (not even adults yet) being trained in mass to fight and protect society and the people it held.
You wondered why it was this way, as for one to become a police officer they'd be required to be an adult and put in years of training to get certain qualifications, but here were young students being trained to do an even more dangerous job that lost many more lives than police officers did. You supposed it was the best course of choice since heroes were in constant demand, positions opening and closing repeatedly. The everlasting hunger for fame and justice was an impulse that was nearly impossible to resist for many, although you believed that those many seemed to have the idea of being a true hero faded out over time.
"... and over this floor we're on is Recovery Girls office, which I suggest you keep memory of as you're most likely going to need to go here at one point- though you better not be like one of my students and constantly get sent in for healing because of stupid decisions."
Suddenly aware that Eraserhead was talking once again you stepped out of your thoughts and decided that it'd be in your best interest if you at least knew some things about the school. It was better to be prepared than to feel the pain of a plan going down the drain due to lack of knowledge and understanding.
Following Eraserhead up the stairs once again, you realized that the nurse's office was indeed exactly above the area you once were, making it stand in the middle of the building, most likely for easy access up or down.
You were met with a kind old lady greeting you both once Eraserhead opened the door, and your tension dissipated a bit upon the warm feelings of tenderheartedness- which didn't go entirely unnoticed by Aizawa.
"Oh? Is this the lovely Y/N I've heard so much about, Shota?" The old lady asked immediately after you both entered. She slowly hopped down from the stool where she was sitting and previously doing some work on the computer, and your eyes widened a bit as you realized just how... tiny she was.
If you were being honest, you found the small elderly lady quite darling, and your thought on this grew further when you realized that she had a cane that looked like a giant syringe that she grabbed to walk over to you.
"Welcome to UA, dearie. Hope Shota wasn't too hard on you yet, goodness knows how strict of a teacher he can be sometimes.. hehe" she spoke, laughing a bit when Eraserhead cleared his throat to gain her attention that he was still there.
"No, I'm not that cruel. Besides, it's all for good measure, you can't make a hero without proper discipline- "
Aizawa was cut off by the little lady swatting his ankle with her cane (she was even more charming because of that personality), causing him to grunt a bit in surprise rather than pain as one would think it was.
"Tch. You act as though I haven't been working here longer than you've been alive. I know what makes a good hero by now. ", She 'scolded' him, Aizawa muttering a 'sorry'- though he wasn't one for her shenanigans.
"If you ever need something, then feel free to come on down, dear. My room's open anytime, and I'll never hesitate to help you the best I can.", Walking over to you, she grabbed your hand and patted it,
"I understand you're probably overwhelmed with everything right now. It's okay if you ever need to pop in my office for a breather every now and then, or if you'd just like to get something off your chest. Don't hesitate if you need anything, dearie."
She stated genuinely that time, and for the first time you believed that someone was looking out for you without any expectations back.
An odd warmth blossomed in your chest, but to you it hurt, and instead you felt like it was a harsh sense of pressure that you struggled to contain. You wanted to push it away, however the warmth spread up your torso and to your face, and you were worried that you'd cry out in the open. You didn't, and the warmth that risked tears simply turned into a pain that pressed on the back of your throat from you exerting energy to keep the tension from overflowing.
None of this was noticed by either of the adults in the room, as you had learned to do that a million times throughout your childhood until it eventually became a regular habit of yours. So you thought.
After greeting the nurse lady (Recovery Girl- there were way too many names that were thrown at you to remember), you followed Eraserhead through the halls since he said that he'd be showing you the teacher's lounge, office, and the principal's office next since you were close.
You got to see the teacher's file rooms where they kept their records (don't get too excited, it was just a room with a bunch of filling cabinets), and the teacher's lounge, which was also simple as well. With just a couch, TV, and other minimal things like the sort, it provided an open yet clean atmosphere.
As you walked you kept an idea of a map of the school as you were shown what was where, internally marking places that you saw on the map that you had nabbed before you departed.
Upon looking at the map, you inferred that you would most likely be brought to the working office next, seeing as it was only a few floors up compared to the principal's office which was farther away.
You were right, as Eraserhead stated what you had thought exactly without knowing the logical train of thought that led you to it.
However, before opening the door, Eraserhead turned to you and discussed what you might see or run into behind it.
"Look, there's most likely going to be a few extra teachers working on the weekends, it happens sometimes. Now, not all of them are clued in as to who you are or your situation. I'll explain the best I can, just don't be alarmed, ok?"
You remained silent, simply giving him a nod of your head in order to let him know that you heard. Aizawa sighed a bit at your silence before opening the door and having you follow him.
The room was large, with rows of desks with computers placed in neat rows. You decided that UA must really like large windows, as there were more floor-to-ceiling windows near the back.

Before you could take in anything else, an unknown voice startled you.
"Now, who's this little cutie, Shota~?", A woman's smooth voice rang out from behind one of the desks. Alarmed, you swiveled your head a bit, but found where she was soon enough.
However as soon as you saw her she was already up and walking towards you and Aizawa- well, more like sauntering. You took in her appearance and noticed that she was fairly attractive looking, and she looked quite young. Her black hair covered her back, sticking out in random spikes, and her mask and lipstick matched in the same rich red color. What stuck out to you was how casual she was with wearing a skin-tight outfit that although revealed nothing didn't exactly help to hide the imagination of curious onlookers.

Aizawa sighed, realizing that it was going to be awhile before things settled. Steering himself to contribute to work towards that goal, he attempted to briefly explain the situation at hand the best he could to Midnight.
You ignored their conversation, still looking around. Looking at all the desks made you wonder if there was a person to fill each seat, or if those were just extras. There weren't many people, but it seemed that everyone that was originally working had gotten up to join Eraserhead's and the lady's conversation.
There was a man who looked like a block of concrete that you (somehow?) didn't originally notice, along with a skinny man with deep-set eyes and blond hair that had two main locks sticking out. You squinted your eyes at the second man, him looking too familiar than you were comfortable with.
However, once again your thinking got interrupted as Eraserhead abruptly put his hand on your shoulder to help lead you out so he could get on with his plans of helping show you around. He didn't initially notice you flinch and tense when he initiated physical contact for the first time, nor did he notice the way you sightly shook and glared with your eyes wide open. It took you a lot of self control to not have automatically grabbed his hand and flip him over your shoulder as you had many times before with many others.
The instinct was burned into your brain, and for a good reason as it had saved you from too many close calls. Though, you knew if you were to randomly attack one of the teachers or students here then you'd create a world of unsolvable problems.
He was facing the other heroes, trying to ease his way out of the conversation because he knew he could be stuck there for hours, and he wasn't in the mood for that.
"Uh, Shota?", The blond-haired man spoke up, pointing his skinny index finger towards something behind the tired pro.
"Look, I'll answer all your questions later, I promise. I just need to-"
"That's not it, your... kid... isn't looking too good"
Eraserhead, confused, turned around to check on you, only to be greeted with eyes that seemed as if they were trying to drag him into the fiery depths of the underworld. Your arms were stuck to your sides with your fists tightly clenched until they turned white, and you were as stiff and tense as a board. Looking directly into his eyes, it seemed as if you could clearly see his soul through them.
Upon thinking you were scared or sick he quickly retracted his hand, only becoming more confused when you settled down- though you were still seething.
Aizawa was a rational man, one who was able to put together whole stories with small bits of evidence or minimal observations. It took him only a second to realize that he had already made you unconformable, by none other than his touch. It was something that was so ingrained into his being, whether it was herding his class outside for training, or talking to Mic, or helping out civilians, touch was and had always been there.
It immediately hit him that you'd probably have bad memories or learned instincts that made physical touch a big issue for you. He didn't know much about you or your past, but he understood that kids living on the streets- ones that were vigilantes especially- most likely had stress related trauma from it.
He internally cursed at himself for not coming to that conclusion any sooner. With your background, it was pretty much thrown into his face, yet he didn't realize it until too late. Against better judgement, he settled that there was no use in crying over spilled milk, so he decided that he'd learn from that and try to make you comfortable in other ways.
After that incident, Aizawa noticed that your tension had returned, but more importantly you were keeping yourself on guard more consistently. He sighed, wanting nothing than to just open your head and take a look at what ran on the inside, as all of this clue piecing was making him feel as though he was getting nowhere. You certainly were a mystery to him, but he was willing to do whatever it was that he needed in order to truly understand you and your ways of thinking.
As you followed him through the halls to the principal's office you noticed that Eraserhead kept a steady pace a little further than he had earlier, along with the fact that you kept seeing him glance over at you from the sides of his eyes constantly. You met eyes with him a few times (to which you returned a glare off annoyance), but he didn't seem irritated or shaken the slightest as others had when you did the same in the past.
The feeling that you were losing yourself and what had made up your being started to rise, small and unassuming at first. You knew it was coming, but you ignored it, hoping that without admitting knowledge of its existence it might fade back to where it came from. A brainless thought, you knew that. But you didn't know what else to do, and the idea of asking for help passed you by entirely.
As you walked the hallways, you couldn't help but feel that you were underestimating how serious your situation had gotten. The realization that this was happening and it wouldn't go away never fully cemented down, the thought simply floating around with a flimsy restraint that threatened to snap any second. It road the waves of your subconscious, in constant danger of being drowned by the thoughts and battles you held internally. It virtually didn't hold any importance in the universe of your mind, with there always being bigger stars, stronger explosions, and better ideas.
A snapping brought you back to the surface and you realized that you had zoned out rather heavily. Eraserhead had to snap his fingers in front of you a couple times because you didn't respond to anything he said, without even a shake or nod of your head like you normally did. He wondered what it was that you were thinking of that made you get that far-away look on your face sometimes. You looked like you weren't even in the same reality, but rather somewhere distant, a far away land of thought.
Reading the large sign that sat above the rich brown door, you realized that you had automatically followed Eraserhead all the way to the principal's office.
Once you both entered, you noticed that the room also looked as impossibly clean as all the others. It was wide and open, with a feeling of authority that filled it out, along with the fact that it also smelled sightly of some cleaners that only strengthened the clean feeling it gave.
You noticed that the chair for the large desk in front of you was empty, as you didn't see anyone sitting in it. Putting on a gallant mask of indifference, you mentally straightened yourself up in order to prepare for meeting whoever was in charge of UA. This person would most likely have a heavy amount of authority over you, seeing as they were Eraserhead's boss. What you were most wary of was flexibility of your actions depending on how this person thought and acted. Stern and demanding? Then you'd act in compliance to make yourself less of a threat. Suspicious or cautious by your presence? Then you'd act in order to gain sympathy so they'd believe that you were only a child and that. You had to be flexible on order to shift so you wouldn't fall deeper into this hole that you already found yourself in.
"Ah! Nice of you to pop in, Shota!"
You heard a friendly sounding voice but didn't see anyone, and the situation was made even more odd when you traced the source of the sound coming from the desk. Maybe it was a prerecorded message or something of the sort? Silly, but you were confused and needed something to blame answer the problem.
The chair to the large desk slid back, causing your face to sightly contort in confusion once more. However, that was nothing in comparison to the face you made when you made eye contact with what looked like a tiny polar bear animal in a fancy little suit wearing sneakers.
You struggled, but somehow kept most of your composure, however Eraserhead being the ever so observant one noticed your slight slip-up. He chuckled before going to introduce you.
"Sorry to be a bother, Nezu, but this was the student I messaged you about the other day. "
Ah, so this was the Nezu he was referring to.
The Nezu in question turned to Eraserhead first, "Oh, you know you're never a bother, Shota!"
Then to you, and when he went to look at you directly you noticed an unusually large scar covering the face that wore such a bright smile. It looked painful to have gotten, seeing how much of his eye it covered.
He noticed you staring, but didn't speak anything of it, greeting you kindly nonetheless.
"So you must be the Y/N I heard Shota took under his wing. Quite a rare event to take place, but I know Shota has a soft spot under that heart of iron."
He politely grabbed your hand to shake it, and for some reason you weren't put off by it. You didn't know whether it was due to his friendly demeanor, or how he clearly marked his actions so you knew what he was going to do. Either way, you were glad that you didn't have to deal with a stuck up business man who just sat yelling orders all day, much preferring this Nezu character instead.
"I'm very glad to have the pleasure of welcoming you as a new student of UA!"
Upon noticing a slight grimace making it's way on your face after he said that, Nezu quickly added onto it to reassure you.
"Rest assured, I promise that everyone is going to work diligently on making sure that your transition is smooth and without complication. You aren't required to start school for up to a month in order to get yourself situated with your new lifestyle, but that'll be entirely up to Shota there when he'd like you to start, since he's your caretaker and all."
Eraserhead turned his attention to you after Nezu finished, adding on to the information.
"I already have your schedule, but I'll let you have up to a week to yourself until you'll have to start going to class. A month is a bit unnecessary as I'd still have to watch over you here at U.A, so you might as well get some learning in while you're here."
Your eye twitched. For some reason it didn't take much for Eraserhead to get under your skin, although he wasn't really helping all that much. You didn't want to go to this school, and if you had up to a month of free time before having to go then you didn't see why he was only letting you have a measly week to yourself.
"And you don't have to worry too much about keeping up with the rest of the class, we understand that you didn't exactly have... proper schooling prior to the last three years, so you'll be given content that's more appropriate to your level- however we have to test you in order to find that level."
A nice way to call you stupid, you supposed. You knew you had a fair amount of knowledge, and when you were in school you were at the top of your JH2*1 class- although you never finished it, you knew the potential you could hold. What you were going to do with it, you hadn't a clue.
Nezu responded after Eraserhead, and you wondered if everyone at U.A just did that thing where one talks and then the other as they've been doing that a lot.
Nezu went up and shook your hand again.
"Welcome to U.A, Y/N! We look forward to having here."

A/N:
Since I thought I took too long to post part 5, I decided to make and post part 6 as well!
I'm going to be honest... This took me a lot longer than I originally thought it would, it took me all day to do both (I did it in increments).
I'm sorry I haven't posted a lot, I've just been very busy and when I do have free time I normally try to write a little before I rest or go to sleep.
If you see I reblogged something, then that means that's all I could manage to do. I've been trying to rest to get my energy back up so I can write more than before, but I still just ask for a little patience!
Reblogs and other feedback is very much appreciated! In fact it'll help motivate me a little, so if you'd like to do that I'd very much appreciate it! (๑¯◡¯๑)
Requests of course, are still open, so feel free to pop in and place an ask whenever (I just ask for you to please stray from asking about the War Arc since I haven't had much time to pick up on it.
That's all I had to say, thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day! (*´ω`*)
