「 ☆ 」   It’s been a taxing few weeks for all of them. Emotionally and mentally draining, Shuichi struggling to keep his head above water while wave upon wave crashed over. People breathing down his neck, clawing at his reputation— rushing at the chance to bring down the renowned detective —and throwing anything they can at him to make things more difficult. They know. He KNOWS they do. At the very least, highly suspect Shuichi hasn’t been entirely forthcoming about the facts of the case and the mysterious massacre involved. 

But he hadn’t budged. If anything, he dug his heels in more firmly. Dirtied his hands further with ‘ information ’ he had tucked away ( precisely for moments like this ) about superiors, fellow investigators, anyone and everyone who posed a risk to him or anyone he was protecting. He wasn’t upfront about it. Never giving specifics. Never giving them anything they could use to incriminate him. Not that he can entirely stop the backlash of blackmail. But he knows. And they know... And no one else has to.

And... it’s worth it. Whatever he has to do is worth is, so long as it helps Seto.

Uncertain why the other man had wanted to meet him, Shuichi’s nerves had been going awry since he first received the message. Wondering what had gone wrong, what he had missed, what he needed to fix... Quick mind had thrown a million scenarios his way, each one more nauseating than the last. But reality was NOTHING like he had expected. Shuichi had tried so hard to keep from dwelling on his confession to Seto— not that it worked —that he hadn’t let himself even consider that he’d ever get a response to it.

But now, with the last lights of day streaming away to welcome the solemn night, he is.

As Seto speaks, Shuichi feels a weight in his chest, suffocating him with its familiarity. More than aware of what it can be like to not have safety guaranteed. To need to accept certain- realities... just to ensure a home and someone willing to give it to him. To feel cared about, even if it’s in a way that doesn’t feel entirely right. At least it’s SOMETHING. At least they can be considered something. To have people telling them what is best. To believe it. To NEED to. Because if they don’t... That just brings even more confusion and even more pain.

Feeling like their worth lies in what they can provide, and not who they are.

Overcome with an urge to wipe away Seto’s tears, he manages to keep his hands to himself, not wanting to make any unwanted contact. It’s hard though. Resisting the urge to touch him. Hug him. When Seto grabs his hands, Shuichi’s breath catches in his chest, wide eyes glossed over with tears he hadn’t wanted to shed. Trembling, his hands hold onto the other man’s, Shuichi shakily exhaling as he finds himself unable to break away from Seto’s gaze. He wants him... Seto wants him. He actually wants him? Heart pounding in his chest, he can barely hear Seto’s words over its internal racing... but he still hears them.

Tensing at the tease, he should have expected it, gaze briefly flits down to Seto’s lips. So close and yet keeping their distance. Letting Shuichi have that small shred of comfort. Skin flushed with a heat that doesn’t stay on his face where it belongs, Shuichi shakily swallows and tries to speak through light breaths. But words fail... Only able to be forced out when he tears his eyes away, looking to the side, watching the colors that have overtaken the sky,  ❝  I... I know what it’s- like... to feel your only worth comes from what you can- ... give people.  ❞  Hold on Seto’s hands grows a bit tighter, as if reassuring them both that it’s actually there.  ❝  But you... You don’t make me feel that way. You make me feel like- ... I’m enough.  ❞  

❝  Not my talent. Not my looks... Just- me.  ❞

Tongue flits across his lips, Shuichi swallowing a lump in his throat,  ❝  I trust you... and- ... I want you. All of you.  ❞  Colors fading into night, they reflect against ebony hair, illuminating the Detective with the final touches of day. Retreating in on himself, hair starts to further fall across his uncertain expression, a silken curtain that golden hues peek through as Shuichi looks back at Seto. Words quieter, he admits despite the unease settling in his gut,  ❝  And I want you to have me too... In- every way.  ❞  Honestly? He’s scared.

He’s so, so scared... 

But there will also never be a better moment to take this chance. Seto wants him. Really wants him. Than to TRY. If he can’t give himself to Seto- if he can’t... make good on his word. Prove that he trusts him. When will he ever be able to? He has to. Meekly looking at Seto, Shuichi can’t bring himself to say anything else. Gaze pleading for the other man to understand, for him to somehow make things alright, he just waits to see if Seto was serious about his words. Or if it was merely another tease, same as all the others. Did he mess this moment up?

Does anyone else feel like scene has been sort of sanitized recently? It’s really weird seeing people claiming to be scene but then having shit like “freaks dni” on their blog or kid-ifying the scene.

Like I remember original scene being FULL of drugs and drinking and sex. Groups of scene girls thirsting over celebs using the term smexy, kandi having pills strung onto it to smuggle it into clubs, shows like Black Butler and Ouran High School Host Club and Death Note being staples, Ke$ha being basically a god to us.

It’s bizarre and tbh kind of gross to see people sending death threats to scene and emo folk for doing stuff like have “bad” ships or posting about their self-harm, or freaking out when someone mentions drugs or drinking or sex being involved in the culture, especially early on. Like you guys were the ones bullying us for wanting refuge in this culture in the first place, what the fuck are you doing trying to be part of it now?

first of all - a key plot point would be that chuuya and dazai had a falling out - and i mean an actual falling out like they cant stand anyone bringing the other up

anyway here are what i think some of the characters would be like

chuuya: 

- he rose to fame as a teenager - he’s wildly known for his good music and his smexy face 

- a good portion of younger artists like his music and look up to him

- he likes writing his own music but sometimes feels conscious about more dark/personal songs

- had a falling out with dazai at some point becuz of this he does not like ppl listening to the music that comes from dazai’s friends but he does secretly like a lot of their songs

- has secret social media accounts to stalk dazai

- has cried becuz he convinced himself at some point about dazai ‘being with’ almost everyone at the agency (at different time periods) and was not right even once

- every single one of his friends knows that half of his music is obviously about dazai but no one knows how to bring it up

- every one’s favorite thirst trap

- you know how a product will appear for a .000000000000000001 sec w/ a bts member and immediately get sold out ?? yeah thats how it is for him

- he’s very strict about crediting ppl - like someone will say like two words to him that’ll inspire him and he’ll credit them as co-writer

- im not sure if i want him to be a singer or not but he’s definitely involved in other aspects such as writing producing etc

- HATES chuuya

yeah so the thing about Price is his eyes are a different shape than the other members (yes im aware they ALL have different eye shape bear with me here), his eyes are more round and shorter, so that's what I like to take note of whenever i draw beeg Price

you can see the red lines that kinda shows the general shape if we compare his eye with Ghost's ones for example

also I tend to draw his eyelid covering like half the eye just for the smexy effects lol

although he aint THAT old yet but i always add the crow feet and eye bags sometimes, more so when i draw non-chibi Price

i remember when i was in the homestuck fandom, i was so used to the naruto fandom where like..sure it's huge but i had established myself in a corner of it and it felt very like... it was a community! and in the homestuck fandom i didn't feel like that at all. i felt swept out to sea and it was very lonely tbh aside from the friends id manage to drag with me into it, but i always felt a certain dissatisfaction from my time in it

anywho. from there it's kinda like..he really just grew on his own. new ideas, new inspiration, new experiences shaping this or that. now i can write him without touching him for years like i just picked him up yesterday. he's that wormed in my damn brain at this point. he's basically his own person sitting in my head telling me what to do with him/what he'd say

so yeah at first? it was just me trying to write a very accurate 2012 movie onceler with a few tweaks. and then he just grew organically into what he is now. that's still his root and so that's still the default direction i try to take, but he definitely has a lot of things that make him his own person at this point too. even on his main blog.

as for why he's so stupid goofy. well. that's because i like drawing dumb expressions. the end. and in the end i'm glad his main blog remained super unserious and lighthearted because it really helped me mentally a bunch (those random spikes in activity? yeah it was for my own mental health LMFAO he helps me...a lot...because of the escapism and comedy)

bonus: as for truffula flu entre. i don't remember if something in particular inspired me to make him the ender of the world. i just felt like it'd be a fitting story for the once-ler for him to be in that spot. and from there i just approached him how i thought someone like him would react were he to find himself in that position.

my goal was always to make him as human as possible. like he's technically the villain of this story, but he's also the protagonist. yaknow. so i wanted to really interweave those two ideas interestingly into his character (and now im obsessed w it)

originally i thought of truffula flu as everyone doing their own storylines. i didn't expect at all that everyone would adopt MINE as all of THEIR canons. that was LKFJSLDKF a big surprise for me i was like wait what. i guess it seems silly now in retrospect that i didn't expect that, but i was just like "well this is entre's story. ppl can do whatever else they want tho" but suddenly entre's story was everyone's story. and it's pretty cool i can't lie
