Here is my (very disorganized) analysis of Bienvenidos a Edén/Welcome to Eden. I usually avoid getting spoilery in these but this time it's unavoidable. I'll try to keep it to things either shown or implied in the first two episodes.

First things first, if you're watching BaE and suddenly wonder like, "wait, I feel like I've seen this before" – it's because you have. It's called The Wilds and it streams on Prime. The premise and a lot of the mechanics are pretty much the same. That said, BaE manages to keep it interesting (though not as well written) and inserts some verrrry pleasant variables.

Such as the very, very, very spoilery thing I shall yell about in the last paragraph of this analysis.

On the other hand, the story itself is paper-thin and some characters are either caricatures or badly built/written, and the writing stumbles on its own big brain-ness a couple of times.

I find it funny how Netflix Spanish shows always have an Argentinean actor (Alta Mar, Sky Rojo – Wendy ❤️ –, Élite, La Casa de Papel).

I managed to start and end BaE unspoiled and am very glad. Tbh I came for Bel's abs (I called her Abs at first) and the horses, stayed for a lot of other things. The first couple of episodes – first one especially – are the hardest ones to get through, but I genuinely think BaE is worth a watch: it has a diverse cast, the big baddie is a total MILF (we love evil women in this house); some characters are lovely – when Maika, Charly, or Bel smile, you smile; the love between the sisters, Zoa and Gaby, is beautiful to watch, even when they're apart; and the mystery surrounding Edén is intriguing.

The way they portray environmental awareness is dodgy at best. I get what they're trying to do: replicate The Wilds's Gretchen – "yeah she's evil, but is she wrong?". The thing is, as loath as I am to say this, there is a difference between putting kids in mortal danger to prove a point and actually killing them – even worse, having the kids you trust kill the ones who rebel, and making it part of a reward system. So when it's Erik and Astrid saying those things, it's worse. Also, Gretchen's is more the crazy, psychotic type than Astrid, who is calm, cold, analytical. Those things as well as its insulation from the main plot play a part in making BaE's portrayal of environmental awareness dodgier than the feminism in The Wilds, which weaves it directly into the character-oriented story it tells.

I like how BaE subverts some character expectations – Nico at the center of this –, but would oh so appreciate it if África stopped making googly eyes at Edén Dad. Bel is by far my favorite character, and not just for the abs or being a lesbian – yes, she has her flaws, and SPOILERS her recklessness has led to tragedy (she told Fran to wait though!), SPOILER OVER but she's selfless and compassionate and she is trying to effect lasting change, but still finds it in herself to pause her plans and help others.

Oh also I just realized Begoña Vargas (Bel) is also Verónica from Alta Mar and now that I've seen her freckles I need them to never be hidden again. Her freckles are beautiful.

Also love Zoa, Maika, Eloy, and Charly.

There is a surprising amount of mlm/wlw solidarity, even if I think it's not intentional. And you can really see the bond between some characters (Bel and Eloy, Maika and Charly, Zoa and Gaby, Cláudia and Fran, Astrid and Erik).

And also, HORSES. SO MANY HORSES. The horse lover in me was LOVING THE HORSES.

Despite the issues I really look forward to the second season, because I can't not know what happens next and I love some of the characters. However, I don't see this show having enough of a story to run for more than two seasons.

And finally, where this gets really spoilery.

THE LESBIAN ACTIVITY 🙌❤️

For me it's the way it started out as Bel having an apparent straight girl crush and then she and Zoa actually became the main couple ❤️

And Nico being manipulative at first but actually liking Zoa but then turning out to be an irredeemable psycho? Fuck. Yes. This isn't a love triangle, my dudes. It's a lesbian romance with an evil psycho trying to get in the way.

And also- QUEER WOMEN STAY WINNING 🙌

That said, I fear the season finale painted a target on either Bel or Eloy (or both)'s back. I really really hope neither of them, least of all Bel, dies. I really hope the writers see Bel as key for the revolution and don't kill her 🥺 I think she's more useful alive than as a martyr.

Lali Espósito: "La industria musical te exige sonar todo el rato y yo necesitaba parar"

Su apodo se lo puso su hermano, trece meses mayor que ella. De ahí que su verdadero nombre, Mariana, aguarde en el baúl que abrir para recodar de donde viene, y que, sobre Lali, haya creado un huracán ecléctico entre la música y la actuación. «Lali se transformó indefectiblemente en mi nombre», confiesa en su entrevista con El Independiente.

Lali Espósito (Buenos Aires, 1991) comenzó a actuar de niña en diversas producciones de Cris Morena, como Rincón de luz, Floricienta o Chiquitas sin fin, y más tarde se haría conocida por interpretar el personaje de Marianella Rinaldi en Casi ángeles, y ser miembro de la banda pop derivada de la serie, Teen Angels. «Empecé en la televisión de mi país, en series de televisión que por entonces no se veían en España. En la mayoría también hacía música, es algo que siempre ha ido de mi mano. Realmente mis comienzos son curiosos, mi hermana me llevó a mi primer casting a escondidas de mi madre, a los días me llamaron para volver a verme y se quedó en shock, claro, pero luego fue ella quien empezó a acompañarme. Al principio era un juego, me reía y me divertía. Luego fui consciente de que era mi trabajo y debía cuidarlo como tal», señala la actriz y cantante, que siempre tuvo la percepción de que «este mundo» no estaba hecho para ella. «Crecí en un barrio de gente humilde y muy currante. Ahí se genera un pensamiento inconsciente de que los espacios públicos de arte son para otros y no para uno».

Pero la argentina ha logrado hacerse un hueco en ambas industrias, y hasta cruzar el charco. Lali acaba de terminar el rodaje de la tercera temporada de Sky Rojo, la serie de Netflix creada por Álex Pina y Esther Martínez, que visibiliza a las víctimas de la trata y la prostitución; y, con tres funciones sold out en Argentina, anuncia ahora las fechas en nuestro país de Disciplina Tour, la gira del que es su quinto álbum de estudio. «Nunca lo imaginé. Me ha costado mucho llegar hasta aquí, hacer mi música como a mi me gusta. Este disco ha sido un proceso creativo de tiempo que necesitaba y que he encontrado en la ficción. La industria musical te exige estar sonando todo el rato y a veces eso no es lo que te define. A mí, como latina, se me han exigido cosas que no era. He reconectado conmigo misma y he logrado trabajar con los sonidos que me representan y me gustan. Estoy muy contenta del producto final, sigue teniendo mi esencia, pero mezclado con algo nuevo».

Muestra de ello son los temas Disciplina, Diva, Como tú o N5, su último single, la primera entrega de su nuevo sonido, una explosión sonora con tintes house y llena de energía que se atreve a mezclar incluso con guitarras flamencas y que dice, en España, ha calado «muy bien». «España permite una estabilidad económica que no te da otro país y creo que junto a Argentina son un buen tándem en lo musical y también en la ficción. España es un sitio muy ameno donde hacer ficción y que se ha transformado en un epicentro del cine iberoamericano, pero en la música, es un país que ha salvaguardado su cultura aún fusionándola con otros estilos, como Rosalía o C. Tangana».

'they clearly want to capitalize on the success of LCdP' - pina does this a long time ago tbh... his new series (only watched sky rojo which was very bad but others said White Lines wasn't good either) offer nothing extraordinary. i honestly don't even know why netflix invest so much money in his shows. in berlin's case: i only care about this show for the input of pedro tbh, had enough of A.P.

Maybe I was harsh with the "capitalizing on the success of LCdP", even if it might be true. It's his right, everything in life is about money whether we like it or not, and the guy does seem to like the character of Berlin so props to him if he wants to explore him even further.

Netflix ultimately wants to make money; they used to cast a very wide net in the hopes of maybe catching some gems, and with LCdP they did - it's why seasons 3-5 were commissioned, and undoubtedly why the spinoff got greenlit as well.

As for being sick of Pina's shows-- besides LCdP I've only seen his Vis a Vis and Sky Rojo and I've noticed a couple of trends in his projects, specifically related to his treatment of women, that don't make me at all excited about his shows. I think there's one woman on the writing team for the spinoff (I remembered the event) but her IMDB credits are all Pina projects so I don't have high hopes tbh.

Lightning Show

Carlos Madrigal x Reader

Genre: Fluff

Summary: You were gazing up the sky trying to get a glimpse of an upcoming comet passing but only to be surprised by another bizarre phenomenon.

A/n: Have you ever known what a lightning show is?

This is actually a personal experience for me that I kinda wanted to write it down as a fic. The name lightning show just popped out from my head when I first saw this phenomenon and it was way back years ago. And guess what, I got to watch it with an old crush of mine IWHSKSHESIHS it was kind of sweet lol.

Idk what this occurrence really called but I had to tell you, it was strikingly beautiful. Anyways enjoy!

"This is odd." You muttered confusingly as you looked down on your telescope.

You stood upon the roof of your home gazing the sky through the telescope your parents bought you. You were kind of a astrology enthusiast, kind of I mean, succumbed into the overbearing animosities of the vast wonders outside your planet. The stars, constellations, rockets, planets and anything that is out of this world. You were drawn by the beauty of the dark spread of the sky to which you drowned yourself in learning every aspect of them. Your heightened fascination of these wonders had just reached its peak as you were attentively track down an upcoming event that would likely make you hold onto the edge of your seat.

"It was supposed to be today." You muttered mostly to yourself as you scattered all your books and news articles about the upcoming comet, Halley's comet. The comet that was said to travel pass earth every 76 years, and this would be the first time of your life to see it. "Did I get the dates mixed up? Was it supposed to be next year? How was this possible? It said that its today." A cast of tirades flowed upon your lips as you fumble around your papers and books.

An annoyed groan was heard right beside you as you swirl your head around to the noise. "If you're that worried, you could just look up to the sky all year ends if you wanted to see that stupid comet."

"Excuse you, I only get to have limited time outside at night and I would not attempt myself to ask my parents to let me stay out cold dead of the night all year." You didn't mentioned earlier that a particular Madrigal had been hanging out with you all night long just to see the comet.

"Then why not just have a year worth sleep over at Mirabel's room or Dolores' or even mine?" The boy said raising a brow.

"I doubt my parents would accept me to have a sleepover with you of all people." You scoffed rolling your eyes playfully. "They might."

"They won't."

"They might."

"Won't."

"Might."

"No."

"Yes."

"No they won't Carlos."

The boy in the red ruana had been in a pickle with you as you were one of the smartest people that had ever stood out in the sea full of strangers of his life. He too is kind of the math and science genius, but he wouldn't really opt to compete any contest that the school would hold. He would just compete with you since you were an easy rival. Easy my ass. You were always a point ahead of him in every test and quiz to which you always look at him with a smug smile, it made his blood boil and curdle to think that he had yet overtopped you.

You were his lab partner once in a science project, and since then he had been tailing up on you with every annoying thing he could muster just to get under your skin. It wouldn't bother you at first but as the project goes on, the rivalry between you arise as every argument, debates and banter was all around as you two quarreled to whom is better or correct even though you two were working on the project together.

"We've been together for over a year already. Isn't it time for them to loosen up a bit? I mean I already proved to them that I'm serious about you." Carlos scoffed as he laid back onto the roof tiles gazing up to the sky. "We're just seventeen, mi rojo." You giggled as you looked back into your telescope.

After the science project, you thought that that would be the last time you will hear about Carlos Madrigal. But boy were you so wrong, he would meddle into your life as the everyday reason why it went topsy turvy. He would pull countless pranks and tease on you just to get a reaction from you. You were annoyed of course but as the months passed by, you got to used to his attitude and somewhat made it tolerable.

And when he got to the point where he knew it didn't bothered you, he pulled out the greatest stunt he could muster. He kissed you right by the lips in front of everybody at school. It was supposed to be a prank, but he thought that it wasn't anymore. Right when he felt the sweetness and softness of your lips against his, he never would've thought it would incase himself into the deep abyss of your taste. He felt like his stomach jolt into a somersault, but as to you, you were too shock, too bewildered by his deed.

"Even so, I'm dead serious about it." You sighed and shook your head from his childishness. "Dead serious about the sleep over or us?" You smirked.

You wouldn't be surprised that the whole incident turned your life 180 degrees to think that the Carlos Madrigal kissed you right in front of everyone else to see. It was embarrassing for you and to him as he realized what he has just did. It was the talk of the town as everyone would whisper your name as associate with the red boy.

It hadn't been long until you tried to get a word out of him. You already had enough with the gossips and whispers about you and you had to get a hold with the situation since it was getting worse and worse, especially when the boy avoided you right after the word spread.

"Both." Carlos spoke with tone of sternness. You looked back at him with a gentle smile as he stared into your eyes full of seriousness. "Maybe when we get older." You replied holding onto one of his hand while you looked up at the night sky.

You could remember that time when you cornered him by the end of the hall. He always had the scowl masked over his face as he saw you. He couldn't escape now that you blocked his only exit. The only way out is to tell the truth and the whole truth only. Then and there he confessed, then and there he told everything, then and there he told you, that he fell in love with you, and then and there your relationship bloomed, quite chaotic as it seem yet so beautiful to see.

"When we get older." The boy echoed.

Upon looking above, you always felt nostalgia everytime you were with the Madrigal. Above the roofs of Encanto, just looking out onto the dark sky full of stars and clouds. He would always accompany you to whatever event, even from a measly hang out to a whole night star gazing session. He kinda like the way you were passionate about what's quite too far to reach, yet it didn't stopped you from learning more discoveries about the wonders over the world. He would follow you onto your journey as though to support you with all that he can. Would always be with you and beside you, for your world revolves around the sun, his world revolves around you.

Your eyebrows furrowed as you squint your eyes to look over the cluster of dark clouds from afar. "What's that over there?" You questioned as you scoot closer to the telescope once more to look closer. "Is it the comet?" Carlos ponder.

"No, its a cluster of clouds." You stood up on the roof tiles gazing over the horizon seeing the dark looming clouds coming closer. "Maybe a storm is coming, we should get back." The boy sauntered holding your hand gently as he sat up from his spot.

You frowned at his words, shoulders deflating thinking that you wouldn't see the comet passing. "There wasn't even news of an upcoming storm." You turned to him trying to pursue him. "You know they're weren't always right."

"I talked to your tío and he said that the sky would be clear for tonight." You looked back at the cluster of cumulunimbus clouds, streaks of lightning shown every now and then with a chaotic strikes of light. You gasped upon realization. "There are only lightning, not any rumbles of thunder. It can't be your mami since it came way over from the east." You pointing towards the direction as Carlos stood beside you.

"If it's not a storm then what is it?"

"I don't know either." Seeing the bright clored lights streaking over the tall plumes of dark menacing clouds as if it was swimming over the vast waves of gloom.

Yellow, magenta, white and blue. A sea full of lights looming over the dark sky like a skyline show. The wonderment you felt as flashes strike over the sky silently, not a roar of rumble could be heard, just pure beauty.

"It's actually cool." Carlos mutter as you stared at it in awe. "It is." You smiled softly feeling his fingers thread between yours.

"It look so chaotic yet so beautiful." You turned to the boy, neglecting over the sonders around you. He held your hand over his lips to kiss the back of your hand. "Just like us."

Anyways, I tried to make the story quite accurate to the astronomical constituency since I had been a science/star geek myself, Hahahahaha.

Halley's comet was last seen in 1986 to which I tried to associate with the time period of Encanto. But I forgot that the story would go through around 1950s, 30 years before the comet was seen again. And yeah, you could just ignore that for the sake of the story since I only mentioned it there BWAHAHAHHA

De niña promesa a diva del pop. Con su quinto disco recién aterrizado, la argentina se prepara para el verano más intenso de su carrera y nos habla de cómo afronta el éxito.

Lista, enérgica y con ganas, la actriz y cantante (Buenos Aires, 1991) empezó a explorar su talento artístico con siete años en televisión y, desde entonces, su carrera ha sido un 'non stop'. La conocerás por su papel de Wendy en Sky Rojo, la exitosa serie de Netflix que habla de la trata de mujeres. Y el pasado mes de abril llegó su nuevo disco, Lali. Con trece temas, "es mi trabajo más personal y sincero, y con él pongo el lazo a una etapa de mi vida que acaba, para dar comienzo a la siguiente", cuenta. En marzo se convirtió en la primera mujer de su generación en llenar un estadio en su país, el Vélez Sarsfield de Buenos Aires, y este próximo verano protagoniza una gira internacional con gran presencia en España (Madrid, Alicante, A Coruña o Valencia son algunas de sus paradas). ¿Sigues igual de arraigada a tu país?

Siempre hay dentro de mí una gran nostalgia porteña. Nací y crecí en esa ciudad, mi familia y amigos están allí, y siento que me representa esa cosa medio cabrona argentina. Hay gente que huye de sus lugares de crecimiento, yo siempre necesito volver a mis raíces para volver a encontrarme y descubrir algo nuevo. En Argentina eres un referente para todas las clases sociales.

¿Venir de un barrio humilde lo empuja?

Creo que hay algo que sobrevuela a un trabajo o a un disco, y es la empatía. En Buenos Aires saben muy bien de dónde vengo y cómo curré. Se cumple eso de "si vos pudiste, yo también". Muchos niños y niñas vienen a mis conciertos y les ves esa intención, que yo también la tuve en el pasado con otros artistas que me gustaban.

Llenaste el mismo campo de fúbol que Mercedes Sosa cuando se celebró el fin de la dictadura. ¡Guau!

Lo mejor de esto es pensar que se ha podido abrir una ventana para que un aluvión de mujeres puedan seguir llenándolo. Eso me hace hoy muy feliz, y seguramente es lo que más orgullo me va a hacer sentir cuando eche la vista atrás dentro de 20 años.

¿Eres de las que cree en el "si quieres, puedes"?

En la edad adulta te das cuenta de que no siempre que uno quiere, puede. Así que esta filosofía puede tener un punto cruel. Está claro que es mejor creer que sí puedes, pero son muy importantes las circunstancias de fuera, ¡y mucho también de la suerte!

De hecho, tus inicios fueron un golpe del destino.

Exacto, yo iba a un casting pero me confundí y entré en otro dirigido por Cristina Morena, la creadora de muchas de las series que todos veíamos de pequeños. Cuando me di cuenta del error, decidí seguir con la prueba. Resultó que esta mujer me daría la oportunidad de mi vida. Trabajamos juntas más de 20 años.

¿Eres una caradura?

(Ríe). A falta de recursos, caradura. En mi niñez había que serlo. Al final es confiar en una misma. No creía que porque no fuera tan linda o talentosa como otra iba a tener menos oportunidades: confiaba y me centraba en lo que yo tenía para dar.

¿Y qué es lo que has dado en tu nuevo disco, al que has llamado igual que tú, Lali?

Dudé mucho con la elección del nombre, pero se trata del trabajo que más emana mi ADN, tanto a nivel de sonido como con las letras. Cuento cosas muy mías (se ríe). La Lali que todos conocen, aquella niña de 7 años que arrancó, cumple un ciclo, y me parecía bonito poner el lazo a esa etapa con un álbum. Además, hay muchas estrellas pop que cuentan con un disco homónimo, como Britney Spears, así que también era una forma de rendir mi homenaje al pop.

¿Hay alguna canción con un significado especial?

Todas tienen sus porqués, pero hay dos temas que son mis favoritos. Uno es Sola, con tintes del house, que te coloca en un lugar de alegría, como en un sunset. Su letra habla de algo sencillo: el disfrute con una misma. Describe a una chica (a ella) saliendo sola, conociendo gente, siendo vulnerable ante el mundo y gozándolo.

¿Y la otra canción con mención especial?

Se llama Incondicional y habla de cómo entiendo el amor. Me planto ante frases con las que crecimos tipo "no puedo respirar sin ti" para hablar de que justamente lo que hace que estemos enamorados es elegirnos cada día, y de no dar por hecho al otro. Ahí está la mandanga y lo que nos da miedo ver. Era muy importante para mí en este disco hablar de la libertad de la vida, y, sobre todo, de la libertad en el amor.

En la serie El final del amor, donde eres protagonista, también se hace una reflexión parecida...

Me interesó tanto formar parte de este proyecto porque la autora del libro en el que se basa la ficción, Tamara Tenenbaum, se atreve a incomodar. Con su visión desarma el mito del amor romántico, cuestiona qué es la dependencia emocional y hasta la religión. Es una serie preciosa que arroja luz a muchas de las preguntas que empezamos a hacernos a los 30.

¿Y para cuándo la siguiente temporada?

No me dejan decir nada (comenta mientras se ríe y mira de reojo a su representante).

También fue tu primer proyecto audiovisual como productora. ¿Qué tal la experiencia?

Me sirvió para generar otros diferentes que vendrán y, aunque no haya nada oficial, sí te puedo decir que estoy inmersa en ideas que creo que necesitamos que existan, especialmente nosotras. Hacer por que se vean más letras empoderadoras, más personajes femeninos incorrectos o que nos permitan más ser protagonistas.

Cine, disco, gira... Estás ya en la cima del éxito. ¿Cómo haces para mantener los pies en la tierra?

Hay una imagen que lo resume todo: siempre te tienes que bajar del escenario. Se acaba el show, se apaga la luz y vuelves a la vida, donde puedes tener a alguien que te dé un abrazo. Soy hija, hermana, amiga, tía... Y me dedico a esto. Si te defines sólo por el trabajo, quizá falte una tarea de introspección como persona.

¿Utilizas la terapia como herramienta de ayuda?

La practico, aunque debería haberla empezado antes. Siempre te pones esa excusa de "no puedo". Cuando me animé, entendí por qué es necesaria. Te ayuda a acomodar emociones, incluso las buenas. Y o las transitas o corres el peligro de convertirte en un robot.

Pero Lali Espósito parece que puede con todo, ¿no?

Como buena Libra, tengo dos mundos muy marcados: por un lado, soy muy para fuera, supersocial, pura energía, y voy buscando siempre nuevas sensaciones. Pero por otro, soy muy vulnerable. Y justo ahora estoy en ese tránsito de aceptar cosas de mí que no me gustan.

¿Ese está siendo tu mayor aprendizaje personal?

Sí, y que la vida es ahora, aquí, ya. Esa es la enseñanza más heavy, también por circunstancias no tan agradables. Hace tres años falleció mi prima hermana, que era mi aliada, un año mayor que yo. Cuando te pasa algo así, piensas: "Si no disfruto ahora, ¿cuándo?". Así que así es la Lali de los 30, queriendo conectar todo el tiempo con ese disfrute de la vida y de las oportunidades. Y esto es lo que elijo cada día.

Tu familia te acompaña a muchísimos conciertos.

Están ahí siempre. Cuando miro desde el escenario y veo a mis hermanos o sobrinos, hay algo que no se explica. Sé lo que piensan, y sé que saben que parte de lo que hago es por ellos. Para mí el éxito no es mío, es algo colectivo. Con ellos, con mi equipo y con el público.

También he leído que eres "aprendiz de feminista".

Sí, lo prefiero antes que autoproclamarme feminista. Me gusta sentir que no sé nada. En los últimos años he aprendido muchísimo de colegas mujeres que admiro enormemente. Las escucho, me lo quedo y luego veo cómo lo aplico. La vida es ser una aprendiz todo el rato.

¿Y quiénes son esas musas que te inspiran?

Hay un grupo de artistas, actrices y músicas en Argentina con las que hice piña y me voló la cabeza. En 2020 nos unimos a la lucha para que se aprobara la ley del aborto. Desde nuestro lugar de privilegio, con acceso fácil a cámaras y micrófonos, se armó una movida realmente grande en la calle con los pañuelos verdes (símbolo de la lucha por el derecho al aborto).

Además de abanderar movimientos feministas, también eres icono LGTB+. ¿Te sientes referente?

Tengo amigos y amores dentro de la comunidad, y siento que soy una más. Así que no me veo tanto como un referente sino como que formo parte del colectivo. Quizá sí puedo funcionar más como un espejo, ya que puedo servir de altavoz para que ciertos mensajes lleguen a más oídos y de varias generaciones.

¿Te costó hablar abiertamente de tu bisexualidad?

No me costó decirlo pero sí te admito que ponerlo en palabras de una manera relajada aún no me sale natural (dice titubeando ligeramente). Hasta hace no mucho, cuando hablaba de este tema lo pasaba un poco por encima, dependiendo de con quién lo estuviera tratando. Y eso que corro con una ventaja, y es que mi familia me abraza en esto. Así que no me quiero ni imaginar si no cuentas con esa suerte…

Este verano vas a estar mucho en España. ¿Formarás parte de alguna actividad en el Orgullo?

¡Ay sí, por favor, me encantaría! (grita entusiasmada). Como no es mi país (el año pasado enloqueció las calles en la Marcha del Orgullo porteña), estuve preguntando al equipo español con el que trabajo para ver si había alguna forma de aportar, más allá de salir de manera anónima. Ojalá pueda hacer algo en esa celebración tan grande. (Al cierre de esta entrevista, Lali no lo podía confirmar todavía).

Y por cierto, ¿qué opinas de la hipersexualización de la mujer, sobre la que tanto se debate?

Creo que hay una gran confusión. Hay mujeres que se exponen demasiado, por llamarlo de alguna forma, porque no conocen otra manera: la sociedad les contó que esa es la vía para conseguir cosas. Y hay otro lugar que tiene que ver con la libertad de expresión, de cómo querés mostrar tu cuerpo, no para agradar al otro, sino como una forma tuya de manifestación.

Y tú, ¿te has sentido juzgada por incendiar escenarios enfundada en trajes de látex?

En mis shows tengo vestuarios que son más osados porque quiero jugar a ese personaje, al igual que tengo canciones que hablan de lo sexy, del cuerpo o del sexo. Yo lo elijo y varío con una parte mía más relajada. Si siempre estuviera inmersa en ese rol exagerado, me preguntaría si lo hago porque de verdad quiero contar eso o porque me lo están exigiendo. Madonna ya se mostró así en los 80, y no siento que se estuviera hipersexualizando, sino que así era su arte.

Y antes de acabar, háblame de Madrid. ¿Es uno de tus amores?

Mira, la mitad de este disco está escrito con vivencias madrileñas: N5, Obsesión, Incondicional... Así que imagínate la importancia que tiene esta ciudad. Me ha dado mucho. Un empuje a la introspección que no había tenido nunca, amores, amigos que parece que conoces hace una década y una apertura de mente a nivel artístico brutal. ¡Siempre quiero volver!

Y cuéntame, ¿en qué lugares podremos bailar contigo durante las próximas semanas?

Voy a desfilar por muchos festivales. Algunos de los confirmados: Big Sound Festival (Valencia), Granca Live Fest (Gran Canaria), Morriña Fest (A Coruña), Concert Music Festival (Chiclana de la Frontera), Arenal Sound (Castellón), Boombastic (Fuengirola y Alicante) y el Coca Cola Music Experience (Madrid). ¿Vendrás, no?

I don't think they were trolling us with the tudum thing, more likely that Pina doesn't have a clear idea about the direction of his show, that's why he said nothing concrete. And let's be honest, him writing while filming wouldn't be anything new, happened with lcdp, but if I remember correctly the actors of sky rojo also mentioned this. (let's hope berlin won't be sky rojo quality)

I know this is his writing process (didn't know about Sky Rojo, am not surprised) but they have to have something. The Tudum bit seems to have been filmed around the start of July - and while I don't know about the intricate process that is filmmaking, I know they at least have to arrange for locations, which takes approvals and so on to set up - and Pedro mentioned filming would start around the end of September, so not a lot of time in between. Not even thinking about actors' availability; and if he has a main cast in mind, he's bound to have some ideas on how to use them/what the main plotlines will be. So I'm thinking they must have a rough idea of the plot, and maybe rough drafts of episodes - even with LCdP they still had scripts when they started filming - the fact that they had a direct line from the writers' room to the set is another thing.

You may have a point; what they gave us is not exactly specific. "Love and heists" could apply to LCdP as well, and the whole "trip throughout the golden years of Berlin, stealing all over Europe, madly in love, stealing with an old gang" could apply to the Viking gold heist and that whole time period, given what Tatiana said when she left him. I'm intrigued by the seeming conclusions (more like additions) from Pedro, which are in no way specific - "feel-good movie, thriller, white collar stories, suspense, travel, and humor" - because it's obvious they talked about it. GOD the world of Pina-led shows, where you don't know if the main actor(s) have talked to the head writer about the show they're about to film in a couple of months. XD

Either way I'm hoping they presented the spinoff in a facetious manner; as in they made us think it's one thing, but when we watch it we'll see he took things in a completely different place. The "feel-good" might be anything but, since Pedro said Berlin will "keep suffering" (IMO a lot of Berlin's suffering is his own making but mkay) so he may have been sarcastic? Overall I agree, I feel like we got a bunch keywords that aren't exactly specific, but I'm hoping that Pina still has an idea - maybe not the execution just yet (or when they filmed the Tudum bit).

So I finally decided to create a writeblr blog, and believe me: I've been stalking a lot of you for a while... so hi. I'm Rossa, 21 yo, argentinian (not from Buenos Aires, thank u), writer and obssesed with stories... all my life.

ABOUT ME

I write in Spanish, but I know quite a lot of English, and I plan to study English in college next year. I'm planning on being a translator. And maybe doing it freelance right now.

In my teenage years I wrote like 20 short stories, and started a lot of novels —only ended one, at 12/13 yo. Yikes.

Between 2016 and midst of this year I focused in learning theory on writing and storytelling, because I'm a perfectionist and a couldn't write out of fear (yay!), but right now I'm writing again (not sarcastic yay!)

Before my stories were like a YA Black Mirror, but right now I'm doing more adult dark fantasy, magical realism, contemporary fantasy, surrealism, and just messing around. Genre or litfic? Idk, maybe I'm wrong but I think most of the world doesn't have those categories, we just read and write lol

I'm in this crisis of not knowing what to read —I want to read local stories (hispanic or latinas) but the market isn't as diverse as in English countries, and people (at least in my circles) only read the classics. I also recently left YA behind, but fantasy is still my thing. I'm really looking for the adult book version of Studio Ghibli movies.

Most important, I'm trying to create a platform and community to help hispanic people to write. Knowledge on storytelling isn't much in Spanish, so I'm trying to share in my language what I've learnt these years in English. But I really like the community here, so this is kind of a bonus.

WHAT I'M WRITING

the short stories I've been writing so far.

“love of darkness or night. finding relaxation or comfort in it” — basically I always knew I love night, but recently I found that 11 of my 13 ideas (at the time, now I have more) take time during night. So it makes sense to publish a short story collection based on that.

I'm just at the beginning of it, and just two of the drafts are readable. "Cielo Rojo/Red Sky" and "Nada ni Nadie/Nothing and Nobody".

I really want to share my experience writing short stories after five years of not feeling able to!!

juana, a very character driven novel or a series of short stories.

magical realism or very very soft magic system in a low fantasy scenario.

chaotic found family of a small town in somewhere we can assume is Argentina travel to some big city to become artist and influencers. The problem is that our main girl doesn't want to but can't say no... and she sees the ghost of her dead aunt who never met buut has the same name as her.

I'll start writing it after I feel more comfy with short stories.

I'll probably use instagram, megustaescribir, wattpad, sweek, inkspired and maybe booknet and medium for my essays and blogs and all that hispanic stuff. I'm not sure.

I would like to be traditionally published one day.
