sebastian vettel x reader where y/n comforts him after his difficult time in ferrari. fluff to smut maybe hehe x
Red to green
Sorry if this isn't exactly what you wanted , I got carried away with the dialogue as I usually do , it does have a sexual ending but not quite smut as I just wanted to get this out
Not edited or proofread
Warnings: mentions of sex and sexual things , sad seb ig , probably incorrect use of German words , a crap ton of dialogue
Wc:738 words
You're replacing Checo at force India and I had to find out through the f1 Instagram page" Y/n asked storming into the room where her husband sebastian was
"It's Aston Martin now , but yes I am" he said not daring to move out of his chair as she seemed calmer than she should be and he was scared she was going to try and hurt him if he got up
" Still doesn't answer the question of why you didn't tell me you're own wife" she said crossing her arms over her chest as she stared at him waiting for his answer
" I didn't want to tell you Schatz because of how bad my ferrari season went , if I told you everything would've went bad" he explained hoping for sympathy
" I thought I was your good luck charm though?" She fake pouted and wrapped her arms around his shoulders as she sat sideways on his lap
"Don't give me that face , you know what I meant leibling" he laughed
" It's just like when you start dating someone so you don't tell anyone cause once you do they start to not like you anymore , I get it seb. I just wish someone atleast told me so I could've stopped buying ferrari merch"
"You look so good in red though" he teased as he traced up and down her arm ( I literally don't know how you describe it )
"Flattery will get you very far with me mr.vettel" she tried not to cringe as she said that but with of them both laughed
"You can go back to being mad with me how" he told her as he gave her a flirty push
"Well daniil isn't there anymore so you don't have to fight him , but bottas is and he did basically cost you the championship lead , but I'm sure you'll do great" y/n said holding his face and kissing his cheek
"Such kind words , you forgot when me and Lewis had contact in Belgium 2018 and I dropped to the back of the grid" he said looking sad at remembering the memory
"Didn't want to bring that one up since lewis is becoming a bit more of a madman when it comes to having contact with people"
As sebastian sat looking like a kicked puppy Y/n couldn't help but feel bad I mean she did bring up some of the bad things that had happened while seb was in ferrari but she was trying to uplift him in a joking manner , which clearly hadn't worked.
He assured her he was fine but even stevie wonder could see he was anything but .
Y/n tried to mention some highlights in his career like his red bull prime, but seb would just hit back with two other mistakes that happened whilst he was in ferrari as if everything bad that happened was his fault
"You know not everything is always your fault right? You tried your best in ferrari but it wasn't the right fit for you and that's okay"
"But ferrari is one of the best teams in the world and I was terrible, Charles even outnumbered me in Japan" her husband answered head in his hands
"Thats not the end of the world , you even said yourself that charles has a gift and Japan is only one race so why does it matter. Plus I wasn't there to give you any of my good luck"
"So it was your fault I did so bad?" He questioned half a grin showing
"I guess so yes all the bad things we're all my fault" she said with a michevous twinkle in her eye hoping they were on the same page
"Oh yeah ? Guess we're going to have to do something about that then aren't we" oh they were definitely on the same page , same sentence even
"What're you going to do ? Punish me for being so bad or something?" Y/n said stading up and walking slowly backwards towards the stairs that lead to their room
"Don't start something you can't finish" he warned stalking after her
"We both know I can make you finish, just depends where you want to" she giggled as she increased the speed she was walking at as he was hot on her heels
He only ever mentioned his sad ferrari memories after that if he wanted to either annoy his wife or get some

Can Anybody See Me? Part 13
*cackles in evil author*
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12
*
When Eddie and Steve showed up for school the next day, Steve was called down to the office to speak with Mrs Hall again.
“Mr Harrington,” she greeted coldly. “It has been brought to my attention that your parents aren’t home, is that correct?”
Shit, Steve thought. He was technically a minor and CPS could be called.
“My father had a business deal in Japan this week, my mother went with him,” he said slowly. He deliberately left out the part where from Japan they were going to South Korea and then India before coming back to the States in a month.
She nodded grimly. “Only parents and legal guardian can excuse any absences. Last time I checked Wayne Munson was not your legal guardian.”
Steve nodded. “I didn’t ask him to. I was feeling really sick, like unable to move sick. So I called Eddie to get my school work for me only to find that Eddie was sick, too. I didn’t even know he had called in until you told me,” he lied smoothly.
Mrs Hall sighed. “It’s clear that you will not head my warning to stay away from that boy. And as your parents are currently not reachable the principal has asked Mr Munson to stand in loco parentis any time your parents are away.”
Steve blinked. He knew that Principal Higgins hated Eddie for being out, loud, and proud about well...everything really. So for him to ask Eddie’s uncle to watch over Steve, either it was a front or Eddie got his silver tongue from Wayne.
Which all things considered, Steve would bet one hundred percent on the latter.
“That’s nice of Principal Higgins and Mr Munson, ma’am,” was all he said on the matter.
“You will just have to sign here, saying you agree,” Mrs Hall said, handing him a paper on a clipboard.
Steve carefully read it several times before signing it. He hadn’t it back to her and she looked at the signature.
“Mr Munson will also be put down as alternative emergency contact,” she said.
Steve nodded and briefly thought about how much it would take to bribe the school secretary to call Wayne first, before he discarded the thought. She would let it slip somehow and make things worse for everyone.
“Thank you, Mrs Hall,” he said demurely, looking up at her through his eyelashes.
Mrs Hall sighed. “I know you mean well, Mr Harrington and it must be hard when your parents are away all the time, but all this is stressing the school’s very limited resources, so please try not to make any more waves, yes?”
Steve nodded.
She dismissed him back to class and he went willingly. He walked back to Mr Vinke’s class feeling relieved for the first time in a long time.
Eddie looked up at him in askance and Steve gave him the thumbs up. Eddie relaxed and went back to doing his school work.
Mr Vinke smiled at Steve. “It’s good to see you looking a little less like death in my classroom, Mr Harrington. I hope this has taught you a lesson about staying home when you are sick, instead of trying to push through it.”
Steve nodded.
“Good,” he said and turned back to grading his papers.
*
At lunch, Steve told Corroded Coffin what Mrs Hall had told him.
“My uncle did what?” Eddie asked.
“Yeah,” Steve said. “Came as a shock to me, too. But this is good.”
Everyone nodded.
“So whacha doing after school tonight?” Gareth asked.
Steve blinked. “Homework, I guess. Why you guys got something going on?”
Eddie grinned. “Well, you see, big boy, the Corroded Coffin boys just got their first real gig at little dive bar called ‘The Hideout’.”
Steve’s eye went wide. “Holy shit, guys! That so fucking awesome. Of course I’ll be there.”
“It’s at eight and will run about an hour,” Jeff said.
“They’ll card you at the door,” Brian said. “But they’ll let you in if you’re underage. They’ll just put black marker on your hand so the bartenders and waitresses know not to serve you alcohol.”
Steve nodded excitedly. “I read you loud and clear. I’ll try to get there a little earlier so I don’t miss it.”
Eddie chewed on his lip. “You sure you’re not going to be missing play practice?”
He shook his head. “Today they’re running through the song ‘The Lees of Old Virginia’, so I’m not needed.”
All the boys relaxed.
“We wouldn’t want to get you in trouble with Miss Lucy,” Gareth said. “We know how important the play is to you.”
Steve grinned. “That’s sweet of you, but I wasn’t going lying when I said I didn’t have anything. If I had practice, I would have told you I had practice.”
“What about swim practice?” Eddie pressed.
“Not until tomorrow,” Steve said with a half shrug. “I talked it over with Coach Hall. I’m still swim captain and will still compete just not to the extent it was last year. So I’m co-captain with Ezra Wincott. They’ve all been really cool about the play and the concussion and everything.”
Eddie visibly sagged in relief. “Sorry about the third degree, man. But you did have a life before Hargrove smashed your face in, and all of it can’t have gone to the shitter.”
Steve smiled. “It’s okay. I wouldn’t lie to you. If I had practice, I just would have cut out early.” He winked at him.
Eddie blushed.
*
Steve was looking at his closet woefully. He really didn’t have anything that wouldn’t make him stand out in the crowd the Corroded Coffin boys would draw. He pulled out the black t-shirt he bought for Halloween and the dark grey jeans. He’d still stand out, but not as badly.
He wandered into his parents’ room and went picking through the necklaces. Steve finally found a small chain that didn’t have any pendent on it and put it on. He also looked at her rings, but he knew none of them would really fit. He sighed.
This was just going to have to do.
He grabbed his coat, wallet and keys and went out to his car. As he was driving he thought he saw his parents’ car drive past him, but that couldn’t be right. They weren’t due back for at least another week.
Steve let out a slow deep breath and decided, fuck it. If that was his parents then that was on them. He wasn’t going to wait for them to come home every night like some heroine from some trashy romance novel.
He was going to go out and have a good time with his friends.
*
Steve arrived at The Hideout about twenty minutes before they were supposed to go on. He had a fake ID he could have got in on, but he knew he was driving home and really shouldn’t drink. So he used his own and when he saw that Marty, Janice and Gethin were there all with little black crosses on their left hand, he knew he had made the right choice.
“Hey, guys!” Steve greeted as he bounded up to them.
Janice eyed him up and down. “Looking good, Steve-o. But here, this will prefect the look.” She took off her flannel shirt and wrapped it around his waist, tying it.
She stepped back and admired her handiwork. Gethin and Marty nodded their approval.
“I think the only thing that would make it even better,” Marty said, “was if you had one of your ears pierced.”
Steve shook his head. “I know they have to stay in for two weeks before you can remove them and if my parents came home during that time...”
“You’d be grounded for life?” Gethin suggested with a grimace.
Steve sneered. “Something like that.”
He got himself a coke and settled down to wait for the band to start.
Then the house lights went down and the stage lights went up to reveal the band. Steve wolf whistled and cheered.
Eddie’s head snapped up, immediately clocking the other boy in the crowd. He could see his other friends were there, too. But holy hell. Steve put some effort into blending in tonight and the things it did to the insides of Eddie’s rib cage...shit.
He closed his eyes. He wished Uncle Wayne could have seen him but the older man worked.
But Steve was here. And that made up for it. It wasn’t the same, but a different kind of good.
Eddie stepped up to the mic and said. “Hello, Hideout! I’m Eddie and we are Corroded Coffin!”
He stepped back and began to play. The crowd almost instantly began to bob their heads to the music. And then Eddie began to sing.
And Steve started screaming. Eddie was amazing.
*
The show ended and the four of them went out back to meet them.
Steve rushed up to Eddie. “Holy hell, man. You guys were awesome!”
Eddie grinned. “Looking good, Stevie!”
Steve did a little twirl. “You like what you see, Munson?”
Eddie groaned. “I think we’ve established that I like you in those jeans.”
Steve laughed as their friends watched this great interest.
Eddie yanked on the flannel shirt around Steve’s waist, pulling him almost flush against each other. Eddie removed the flannel and tossed it vaguely Janice’s direction. “I’ll drop off some of mine, if want to keep coming to these concerts, pretty boy.”
Steve chuckled. “Feeling a bit possessive there, sunshine?”
Eddie growled and moved to step back. He didn’t mean for it to come out like that. But before he could get too far, Steve was pulling him back.
“Joke’s on you,” Steve murmured. “I like it.”
The only thing that kept Eddie from kissing those deliciously pink lips was the fact that everyone was watching. “Later,” he promised.
Steve nodded.
Soon they were being swarmed by their impatient friends wanting to congratulate Eddie and the rest of Corroded Coffin. They celebrated with sodas and cheese fries.
*
Eddie followed Steve back to his house, because they really needed to talk about this fragile thing blossoming between them.
Only when they got back to the house, that shiny silver beemer was out front again and Steve’s stomach dropped to his feet.
Eddie was out of the van in a heartbeat and by Steve’s side. “What do you want me to do?”
Steve’s breaths were coming out fast and shallow so he just shook his head.
“Do you want me to stay?” Eddie asked, gripping his arms and looking up into his eyes.
Steve nodded.
“Tell you what,” Eddie said gently. “If everything is all right and you don’t need me, turn your light on in your bedroom. If I don’t see it come on in ten...” Steve shook his head. “In fifteen minutes, I’ll come running, okay?” Steve nodded again.
Eddie gave him a kiss on the forehead. “I’ll be here.”
Steve took a deep shuddering breath and walked toward the door. He turned back and looked at Eddie, who nodded.
Steve opened the door and walked inside.

I Can't Stop Thinking About Mr. Grizz In Space
I'll preface all that I am going to say with the fact that Return of the Mammalians as a story has a lot of problems. Its pacing is kind of wack and basically all of the actual plot happens literally at the end. I think I like it more than most, certainly more than a lot of other high-profile Splatoon blogs here, but there's no denying it has a ton of flaws.
It did, however, leave me with a lot to chew on, and perhaps one of the things it has had me thinking about the most is actually just a little gag in the credits
Tumblr media
About three minutes into the credits, Mr. Grizz is shown slowly orbiting around earth, given so little thought that the credits roll right over him, but I genuinely think this is one of the most poignant and evocative images in the whole game.
Now, Mr. Grizz wasn't handled very well in this game, primarily as a consequence of that whole "all of the story happens in the ending sequence" thing, but I think that conceptually he is about as perfect of a villain as they could've made for the supposed "finale" of the story they've been building up to now.
One of Splatoon's primary themes, especially with its villains, has been the dangers of clinging to the past. Octavio is a bitter old warlord stoking the flames of a long-gone conflict mostly to satisfy his bruised ego. Commander Tartar is obsessed with an idealized version of the past and seeks to remake the present when it can't live up to that ideal, even when that ideal never existed. Splatoon 3 even went further, revealing that inklings, octolings, and all the other land-living sea life are in fact humanity's truest successors, and Tartar tried to wipe them all out anyway.
Mr. Grizz continues this trend and takes it maybe as far as possible because he doesn't just want to reshape the present, he sees it as something unnatural and wrong on a base fundamental level, a mistake that can only be resolved by restoring the status quo, giving the planet back to the mammals. Coming as close as possible to literally turning back time. With Splatoon's focus on youth culture and pop media, it's hard not to read this theme as an allegory for the ways that older generations can cause immense harm in rejecting the new and in making futile attempts to grasp a world that once was but never can be again.
But Splatoon isn't trying to tell us that the divides between us are unmendable, far from it. Over the course of the first two games we see how inklings and octolings grow closer and closer until it's a complete afterthought in the third game, and even Octavio, when push comes to shove, is willing to bury the hatchet for the greater good. Calamari Inktantation 3MIX is perhaps the purest expression of this, a mix of old and new, a traditional folk song turned into a pop song, complemented by three artists that each pull from completely different cultures (Frye = India, Shiver = Japan, Big Man = Brazil) all mixed together by a 100+ years old DJ. Calamari Inktantation is old and new, pop and traditional, Inkopolis and Splatsville, octoling and inkling (and manta ray), in a chaotic, messy, beautiful swirl of sheer ecstatic joy. As a song, it is peak Splatoon, clear and simple.
But this isn't about Calamari Inktantation 3MIX, as excited about that song as I am, this is about Mr. Grizz, and after spending so many games exploring the dangers of clinging to the past, Splatoon 3 uses him to show us what happens when you cannot let go.
Mr. Grizz could not accept the present he found himself in. To him it was wrong, it was offensive, and he fought tooth and claw to bring it back with him, into the past, to the glory days, and he fails. Of course he fails, you can't stop time, much less turn it back, and the people of the present will always fight to protect their future. So where does that leave him?
Alone. Gazing down at a planet he was born on but can no longer recognize. From his orbit, he can see thousands, maybe millions, of little lights along the coastlines, each one an entire city, buzzing with life and all of its eccentricities. It's a world that would probably welcome him, if he gave it the chance. But he didn't. He rejected it and sought to return to a time and a place that no longer existed, and in so doing, all he achieved was isolating himself. And now, as he circles the world, all he can do is watch as it moves on without him.

There is 58 years between the first plane flight, and a human going to space.
Technological advancements happen very quickly, so yeah that argument is mute. Even if you believe Santos Dumant was the first person to do it, that's still 63 years between his flight and a human going to space.
Also I'm not sure in which universe is democracy a widely American concept.
Even before Ancient Greece in the Vajjika Republic in 6th century bce India is widely considered to be the first example of a democratic Republic.
Also democracy is literally only in Republic City, which didn't have real democracy until the end of Book 1, and the earth kingdom who was suffering under a bad case of fascism. And Queen Hou-Ting, what ever godamm name was, sucked dick and was a terrible ruler.
The water tribes kept their chiefs, they just get to vote on it. The northern water tribe chiefdom is hereditary. The fire nation kept their firelord
Korra did not spread democracy everywhere, unlike where you claim they forced it.
Poor earth kingdom citizens, they must miss being a selfish queen who never did anything to help them, and let theives go wild, and then the facist dictator, who put people into concentration camps.
In HISTORY leaps in technology have happened fast. In a STORY you need to be careful not to make the whole thing feel like it's set in a different universe - and when we go from rudimentary industrialization, some of which is openly treated as a PROBLEM by the original's shows narrative because nature's worth and it's key role in keeping balance are a central theme in several episodes, all the way to Ford 1s everywhere, big ass factories that would obviously cause a lot of polution, lightningbending going from rare to something common that is used to give everyone electricity, all because the writers wanted to change the aesthetic from Meiji Era Japan to Prohibition Era New York, I'm gonna say that shit went a bit too far.
I didn't say americans invented democracy, I'm saying it's very common for american writers to push their own way of life as the only correct one, because there's literally over a century of the government spreading propaganda about "The american dream" and "the american way of life" to EVERYONE, including people in the USA, where the writers were raised - which is why the city that is supposed to represent the all four nations suddenly goes from "Very obviously east asian" to "Very obviously USA stuff that was never present in the old show." The character of Korra isn't running around saying "The US is inherently better", but the show very much is by making the symbol of balance and harmony so PAINFULLY american.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Bryke or anyone involved in the making of Korra was actively trying to make propaganda, they were just influenced by it and repeated some of it without even realizing it - and so did you with the bizarre leap in logic of "If you criticize the way americans, knowingly and unknowingly, tend to push their way of life as the default/superior one in stories, that means you think the fascist villain had a point/is not that bad"
If you like Korra as a show, including the whole concept of Republic City, that's fine. It's none of my business. But as someone who literally had to study American propaganda pieces and the long lasting influence it had in media, there is NOTHING you or anyone can say to me that will convince me that is not a reflex of propaganda that breaks the world-building that had been very coherent and consistent in the previous show. Either deal with that, or block the tags/my blog.

THE BEATLES - NEVER BEFORE HEARD RINGO STARR PERSONAL TAPE RECORDINGS FROM 1966 TOUR - SAMPLE CLIP.
Two Philips C-90 cassette tapes and one Philips C-60, two with handwritten labels (very likely in the hand of Ringo Starr) 'INDIA' and 'MAHARESHI' the third with a sticker affixed bearing handwritten label 'MANILLA (sic) INDIA'. All three contain recordings made by Ringo Starr, likely on a personal tape recorder (see here for image of Ringo returning from tour carrying what appears to be a tape recorder), of various events throughout (mostly) 1966. All recordings have very likely never before been published. Approx 248 minutes of recordings across the tapes. At one point Ringo describes the tapes as 'a talking record of our trip to Germany and Japan'. Across the three tapes, which contain hours of candid conversations with The Beatles, Brian Epstein and others within the inner circle during that period, a small selection of 'highlights' includes: - Brian Epstein discussing how to avoid paying tax/import/export charges when leaving Japan. - Numerous humorous interludes with Ringo recording his thoughts on the tours - often in an array of voices. - Band discussions of the set list for the Japan tour. - Recordings from the Budokan concerts (segments of 'If I Needed Someone' and 'Day Tripper') possibly from stage or close to stage itself, seemingly more likely from the band listening back to the recordings, whilst still in Japan. Also John asking Brian Epstein what he thought of the show. - Recordings from Manila inc thoughts on the hotel ‘pretty crappy’. - Extensive recordings from July 1966 whilst in India including the group experimenting with Indian musical instruments. - Extensive recordings of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi - possibly recorded later than ‘66- approx 38 minutes worth. - Recordings of Ringo solo with piano performing ‘Don’t Pass Me By’, an early version without full lyrics. - Recordings of Ringo at piano performing two likely unreleased demos - one with refrain ‘have you seen the tulips grow’ and one seemingly a version of 'I Bought A Picasso' Provenance: purchased by the vendor as part of a collection of Beatles memorabilia. By repute - the original owner had been an acquaintance of Ringo Starr during the 1960s. Accompanied by CDs containing copies of recordings.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* 🦁LEONA BIRTHDAY SSR FLOWER ANALYSIS* 🦁*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
*Mandatory reminder that I’m no flower specialist, which means these are all very subjective opinions. Take everything with a grain of salt!
Before I can talk about Leona’s flowers I quickly want to give a bit of a deeper look into the colors of his bouquet and how they affect its meaning – with the reading of yellow flowers ranging from friendship, joy, and hope in Europe and America to honoring the dead in Mexico and Egypt to sacredness in China to representing royalty in and around India. Generally speaking, in Asia the meaning of wealth, royalty, hope and disappointment, abundance, and jealousy, are most likely what the cards’ artist was going for so keep that in mind while reading this!
In the Victorian Language of Flowers yellow roses were symbols of jealousy and greed – which is also true for their Japanese and Korean meaning, though in traditional Mexican culture they more commonly symbolize remembrance. By gifting someone yellow roses one would show a decrease in love, or subtly tell the recipient to “try to care more”, though nowadays they stand for friendship, happiness, joy, innocence, and appreciation, and are typically sent during birthdays, promotions and graduations. However, they could also be an apology for previous wrongdoings.
The more orange flower I believe to be a gaillardia or blanket flowers, which on one hand are associated with charm, abundance, aristocracy, and modesty, or on the other hand, with joy, optimism, and happiness. Because of their ability to thrive in all conditions, they stand for resilience and strength, courage, fearlessness, and even were a symbol of bravery and hope in the Victorian Language of Flowers.
While hibiscus flowers are associated with positivity and joy thanks to their vibrant colors, they’re also symbols of wealth, generosity, hospitality, and the upper class. They’re reminders to live in the moment and to seize opportunities as they come. In Chinese culture they’re gifted to represent how short lived the beauty of glory or fame is since they have a relatively short vase life.
Gerbera Daisies, or African Daisies, typically represent either beauty, or a happy life. They symbolize friendship and happiness, but mostly are gifted to someone recovering from an illness, or to cheer someone up. In Japan they stand for ultimate beauty, hope, and a way forward (often with a romantic connotation). Notably, in ancient Egypt they stood for a closeness to nature and devotion to the sun.
Zinnias are associated with endurance, remembrance, and thoughts of absent friends/friends you haven’t seen in a while. They bloom even in draughts or when plagued by bugs so they’re the perfect gift for someone with a strong mind.
Since crocuses are early blooming flowers they symbolize new beginnings and rebirth, though they’re also linked to wealth, power, and divinity. In Asia and the Middle East they stand for hope and a prosperous future.
The yellow flower with the thin leaves is a pincushion flower or protea which represents transformation, diversity, and courage. In the Victorian Language of Flowers they stand for unfortunate love, and in hanakotoba (the Japanese Language of Flowers) they mean “I have lost all.”
Finally, the dark purple/red flower in his bouquet is a cymbidium orchid. It stands for morality and virtue, as well as beauty, strength and opulence. Being gifted such a flower is an honor since they’re difficult to grow and care for. They hold a reputation of being luxurious, and are a symbol of power, respect, and admiration – in the Victorian Language of Flowers one of supreme luxury and wealth. They also convey a feeling of strength, absolute power, or authority.
Naturally, these are only my un-educated guesses considering I’m by no means a flower specialist so take everything with a grain of salt, and feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong/what flowers I might’ve missed.

I love how Aang's fans want so badly to defend and respect his "culture" even though him and hia creators didn't. Because if they did, they shouldn't want him to get in a relationship. HE IS A MONK!
because aang isn’t an actual tibetan monk, he is a fictional, caricaturized version of one (especially given the tibetan influences atla pulled from for the air nomads has been criticized by actual tibetan people), which is why it irritates me when people act as though criticizing the atla characters equates to criticizing their real life counterparts. first of all, it’s fiction. and second of all, atla has mixed up so many influences from so many cultures that even if each nation is primarily inspired by a singular culture, it’s impossible to call it an even halfway accurate representation of said culture.
the fire nation alone cherry picks cultural influences from imperial japan, southeast asia, china and india. the title of the whole goddamn show is from sanskrit. there’s a stereotypical indian character who seems to belong to no nation at all apart from being an honorary air nomad. aspects of hinduism are used for both air nomad and fire nation culture. i’m sure i’m missing out a lot more, but off the top of my head it’s already clear that the show was not setting out to create accurate 1-1 rep.
and look… it’s a fantasy show. i’m not against them mixing influences from different real world nations for fake ones, so long as they did the proper research to make sure it was written respectfully (which… nope lmao one day i will finally make that post on hinduism in atla and how disrespectfully it was handled). but just because people saw themselves in these characters — and i’m really happy for them that they did — doesn’t mean those characters actually hail from the same cultural and religious background as its viewers. atla was created by two white men and an almost all-white writing team, and it shows. and though it’s not wrong to see yourself in it, neither is it accurate to assume that it’s the pinnacle of asian representation. go to actual asian creators for that.
conflating fictional fantasy cultures that were created and depicted through an extremely american lens with real-life ones is illogical at best and idiotic at worst, especially when you’re using it to harass actual poc viewers who could very well hail from the same cultural backgrounds you’re claiming to defend.

tldr: bitches want gay shit, not het shit, with data and numbers to back it up; bonus Bible’s booty
so thinking about @discluded‘s essay on Mile and Apo’s upcoming historical drama, and Thailand’s bid for soft power got my brain thinking thoughts. I’ve talked about Thailand noticing the soft power of their BL media before along with why I think Chinese, South Korean, and other East Asian media (from television to novels, etc) are popping off in popularity in the last 5 years or so. Idk where those posts are and I’m to lazy to link them thus is life
The point! The point is tho reading discluded’s post made me think about F4 Thailand. Ironic, I know, since F4 is a het drama based off Boys Over Flowers a shojo manga from Japan that was released in 1992 and ended serialization in 2008.
Firstly, Boys Over Flowers FACINATES me b/c the god damn chokehold this series has on various Asian countries. I told a friend it’s comparable to like, Romeo and Juliet, in that it’s been adapted, remade, re-adapted, re-booted, re-imagined, and so on over and over and over again. Like there’s audio dramas, there’s films, there’s multiple live action TV shows, there’s an anime. Japan’s made two feature films, and two seasons of a TV. Taiwan had two seasons of a TV show, Korea had a tv show, China had two versions of the same show (one was a remake), Indonesia had two tv shows, India had a tv show, and finally Thailand was the latest to adapt it into a TV show in 2021 - 2022. The legacy of this story can’t be denied.
Now, my point? Okay so my point is I witnessed online the marketing for F4 Thailand in real time. It was interesting to me b/c I very rarely - and have not since - seen a ton of talk about a Thai drama that wasn’t BL or a horror or action film.
When it comes to the Thai film industry, the three genres I see discussed are: BL, Action, Horror. You can see this in what Netflix (America) offers in regards to Thai series specifically what ones they dub which shows like: Girl From Nowhere (which Netflix invested in a s2 and is a thriller/horror drama), The Whole Truth (a horror film), and Thai Cave Rescue (which they also have a documentary based on). Netflix is still (STUPIDLY) reluctant to purchase a license for any SK or Thai BL content (I know Semantic Error would blow the FUCK up on Netflix you idiots!!!) probably b/c investors are like, hmmmm but would gays of color sell? I would say they also have Your Name Engraved Herein but that’s an easier sell b/c its a drama and has more of that classic gay Oscars vibe (this isn’t an inherent bad thing don’t come for me).
Okay back to my point I s2g I have one.
So marketing for F4 Thailand was interesting b/c I actually saw it. I don’t see marketing cross over into my international waters for Thai het dramas. What helped this, and I fully believe this was done purposely, is the casting of Bright and Win who gained international popularity from 2Gether. Like, it seemed pretty obvious to me that casting Bright and Win was a bid to peak the interest of the international market, combined with casting them specifically in an adaption of one of the most famous and well known Asian romantic dramas of the last 30 years or so. This show was set-up to be A Hit.
But I don’t think it really worked internationally; bare with me, numbers time.
Now, ratings for F4 averaged at .441% on Thai TV, higher than Bad Buddy (which aired on the same network) which averaged at .121% and Kinnporsche which averaged at .314%.
I compared F4 to these two shows specifically b/c they aired in a similar timeframe (all three shows aired over the course of 2021 - 2022 except KP which only aired in 2022) and arguably Bad Buddy and Kinnporsche were the biggest BL shows in Thailand in those respective years.
F4 also did well in the Philippines, and ended up dubbed into Filipino, and it’s scheduled for re-broadcast in 2023. Honestly, it’s difficult to see how well F4 did internationally as there’s not a ton of information available on it. When I google “F4 Thailand reception” there’s not a lot of results, if I google “boys over flowers Thailand reception” I get this:
Tumblr media
ngl I think it’s pretty funny that one of the top four most asked questions is if F4 is BL and again, it’s def b/c of Bright and Win’s casting. But given that there’s not a ton of information available, I glean that F4 didn’t do great in the western (American/Latin American/European) market. Not to say it didn’t do well.
On Google ratings: F4 Thailand lands at a 4.9 rating with 2619 reviews/ratings and Bad Buddy stands at a 5.0 with 1085 reviews/ratings
On MyDramaList F4 has a rating of 8.5/10 from 11,982 users, and Bad Buddy has a 8.5/10 from 26,445 users
On IMDb: F4 has a rating of 7.8/10 from 2.3k users, and Bad Buddy has 8.8/10 rating from 5k users
This isn’t a comparison about quality, but activity. I’m not here to make judgements on either shows quality, but rather international impact and relevancy. Outside of Google, Bad Buddy has more active users who left a rating or review on the website than F4, almost double in fact.
If you go to GMMTV’s official Youtube page and look at the most popular videos on the channel it’s majority....2Gether. Like my god so much 2Gether the CHOKEHOLD this show had on y’all:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More date and a comparison of F4 and Bad Buddy’s international numbers below, we’re getting into the meat now.
Now the actual F4 official trailer has 3.7 million views on GMMTV’s channel. Bad Buddy official trailer, also on GMMTV’s official channel, has 2.7 million views. Both are set at 1 year ago so they’re within the same or similar time frames for comparison.
To throw in there, the Kinnporsche official trailer was released 10 months ago and has clocked 7.1 million views total on Be On Cloud’s official channel. To keep up with the comparison, F4′s OST Who Am I clocked 21 million views at 1 year, while KP/Jeff Satur’s OST Why Don’t You Stay has clocked 36 million views at 8 months.
(completely unrelated sidenote but Vegas/Bible’s ass has 3.4 million views and I just find that fucking hilarious, the man’s booty got more youtube views than other studios episodes. The power of Bible booty)
You can watch episode 1 of F4 on GMMTV’s official youtube channel, but only episode 1 the rest are just previews for other episodes. Idk why, other series whether het or BL they have all the episodes available. There’s apparently 80 videos that are hidden, I’m wondering if you have to pay Youtube premium to access those. Since I only have episode 1 to compare, for comparisons sake, we can look at those numbers of F4′s ep01 and Bad Buddy’s, both of which are clocked at 1 year each, are as follows:
Bad Buddy ep01 [1/4]: 9.6 million
Bad Buddy ep01 [2/4]: 5.4 million
Bad Buddy ep01 [3/4]: 4.9 million
Bad Buddy ep01 [4/4]: 5 million
F4 Thailand Begins ep01 [1/4]: 1.7 million
F4 Thailand Begins ep01 [2/4]: 848k
F4 Thailand Begins ep01 [3/4]: 3.3 million
F4 Thailand Begins ep01 [4/4]: 747k
If you crunch these numbers, Bad Buddy’s total view count for episode 1 is around 25 million views. F4′s total view count is around 7 million views (if I’m doing my math correctly a bitch doesn’t work in maths).
Now, I don’t know what the premiere numbers for either of these series was. BUT, this shows that one series, Bad Buddy, has legs and the other, F4, didn’t.
Either way that’s a pretty sizable gap and a lot of international fans use Youtube as a means to legally watch and support these shows as shown in the availability of subtitles.
F4 has subtitle options in: English, Korean, Chinese (Taiwan), Portuguese, Turkish and Spanish
Bad Buddy has subtitle options in: English, Turkish, French, Indonesian, Spanish, Chinese (Hong Kong), Korean, Chinese (Taiwan), Vietnamese, Arabic, Portuguese, Polish, Italian, Burmese, Chinese (Simplified) and Bulgarian.
Bro, BULGARIAN.
As far as I can tell, IQIYI doesn’t release streaming data that I could find, so idk what the numbers are for Kinnporsche. I do know that Kinnporsche, since airing, has never let the sites Top 10 list which is an impressive feat after ending months ago.
So like, what does all this information mean~ exactly? Am I saying F4 Thailand was a flop? No, not even a little bit lol I don’t have enough data to really say definitively F4 was a flop nor is that really the point here.
The point here is about international impact, and the fact that in my humble ass opinion, Thailand’s het shows ain’t hitting internationally all THAT much. Not as much as their BL shows are and have been.
Objectively, going by Thai ratings, F4 did a lot better than Bad Buddy, but internationally? Internationally there’s a pretty visible gap from everything I’ve seen.
I think what GMMTV was hoping was by casting Bright and Win they’re pull in that international audience they had cultivated with the 2gether series. But het dramas are high key a dime a dozen in American/European/Latin American audiences. Folks go to Kdramas or Cdramas for het dramas (and I have theories on why those hit, namely Cdramas for the high fantasy aspects that Europe and America doesn’t deliver on and kdramas for being unashamedly high quality produced romances. Also the one-and-done factor).
Given the juggernaut success of Kinnporsche, not just in the west but also in other Asian countries I imagine that’ll influence other studios to try to follow suit even more to gain even a half-slice of that visibility and profitability. Kinnporsche, imo, is an outlier, it’s success is sorta like 2gether and TharnType in that there were a lot of factors outside of the show itself that led to it’s individual success.
Like, flat, argue with the wall, 2gether is NOT a good series. But, it was released right when lockdown began (literally, ep01 aired Feb 21, 2020), in a way 2gether was like Animal Crossing, GMMTV didn’t expect it to do THAT well especially internationally but it did partially b/c what the fuck else we people gonna do in lockdown? Watch a simple but cute gay romcom which there was a gap for - Love, Victor wouldn’t air it’s first episode until June 17th, 2020, and that was marketed less as a queer romcom and more as a queer coming of age story. There’s also the factor of The Untamed having ended - final episode August 20th, 2019 - and folks catching on to the growing and active existence of international queer media that wasn’t boxed in and tied down by American conventions.
I think what we’re going to see is the “next era” of BL. We saw the uptick in overall content post 2019/2020 with the success of 2Gether and TharnType, following the success of series like Why R U, Love By Chance, 1000 Stars, Lovely Writer, etc along with other countries getting in more on the game (namely South Korea) and the overall uptick in the amount of BL (and now GL!) shows across the board.
After 2gether we saw more BL shows, I think after Kinnporsche we’re going to see higher quality BL/GL shows. And I think we’re already seeing that. Semantic Error was a nice change of pace for SK b/c it was longer than 15mins, I think going forward given the success of SE we’re going to see SK branch out slowly into developing longer shows (no longer than 30 to 35mins tho to keep costs down) and better workshopping (some kisses in KBLs...my guys). While for Thailand I think we’re gonna see better quality shows. Not Me dropped the ball in some regards but visually the show was great. Cutie Pie’s story was incoherent sure but visually? Hot damn that was a good looking show. We’re also getting more interesting concepts out of Thailand too; like that Prince/bodyguard show coming out, the fact Kinnporsche did eventually get made and MileApo’s upcoming historical film.
this all got away from me but whatever, bitches want gay shit, peace

sometimes it's not about having all the rights and liberties. sometimes it's about being happy despite not having them.
Like, yes, it's really great to have legal rights. But that's a long fight and it shouldn't mean that your happiness should be put on hold till then.
This is about QLs, btw.
Most of them are made in conservative countries. Only Taiwan has the legal right to marriage but does that mean that only Taiwan should get to make queer media?
I mean, murder is illegal everywhere and yet it being shown in everything isn't complained about. But QLs are constantly criticized coz the country they are made in doesn't have marriage equality or social acceptance. Have you wonder why?
Why can't Thailand, S Korea, Japan, etc make these shows without being labelled fetishistic? Despite the fact that they are not, despite how many people discover their own queerness through these shows, despite how it offers a refugee to queer people, one of love, something that's rare in the rest of the world?
Have these people wondered that living in a country with legal rights is a luxury? That it's not like that for 90% of the world? Have they gotten so comfortable with it that they've forgotten that they didn't have it less than half a century ago?
I'm Indian. The state of the country about queer rights is abhorrent but BLs have gotten popular. Maybe it's the older BLs that give a comfortable feel and people venture into the more heavier/queerer ones. Maybe you just enjoy the queer ones there are. Because let me tell you India doesn't make these. The Western shows are too steeped in their own pop-culture for an average person to truly understand and thus enjoy it or it's too raunchy/sexy for many to be comfortable with. But S Korean BLs, chaste Japanese BLs, soft Thai BLs, India gets that. India can understand that. India can talk about that.
So while you sit on a moral high horse please try to understand the rest of the world does not share your perspective. It does not share your freedoms. And claiming these to be fetishistic only makes people who are already uncomfortable even more so. It makes people not want to explore these stories and parts of themselves they want to understand.

there’s an episode of SHWEP where earl fontanelle (still can’t believe the guy is named like a thomas pynchon character) interviews a scholar of hellenistic astrology and practicing astrologer, and it’s an interesting discussion, about, like, how astrology was probably practiced historically and the role and development of birth charts, and how that specific kind of astrology was spread from the eastern mediterranean to far-away places like india and china and japan.
but, like
okay, the thing that kills me about astrology specifically as a form of divination, beyond all other forms of divination--all of which are ways of trying to reduce anxiety about the world by increasing the amount of knowledge (we feel) we have--is that haruspicy or yarrow stalks or cartomancy or oneiromancy, those all have a stochastic element to them, right? it’s an aid in pattern-matching, and it makes more plausible, as a diviner, that the information you obtain could be somehow tailored to your specific situation or question because it’s not determined in advance. i mean, the underlying mechanism is still nonsense; there is no mechanism; but “there is no mechanism” and “the mechanism is opaque” are, from the outside, sometimes difficult enough to distinguish in practice (especially to our pattern-matching brains) that it is, from the realm of normal everyday experience, plausible.
but astrology is... the exact opposite of this! since the planets reached their final orbits early in the formation of the solar system, their behavior has been predictable for millions of years in advance. there are No Surprises there, not at the length of human lifetimes or civilizations. ancient astrology was protoscientific in a way that other forms of divination were not, because even without understanding the keplerian laws of planetary motion or having a good theory of gravity, or even a decent model for the solar system as an object, you can make extremely accurate predictions about how the planets move, in a way that is anathema to the basic mechanism of almost all other forms of magic and divination, which must leave room for ambiguity so as to permit belief.
it’s consistent, i guess, in that if you ask the system the same question twice you will get the same answer, but as a method of divination, it completely lacks even basic plausibility. patterns so regular they can be predicted literally thousands of years in advance shouldn’t be something you can plausibly argue the reality of; they should scream at you from every corner of life experience. they should show up in every statistic ever compiled, on any subject. and not just the big stuff, like your sun sign, but all the little details about aspect and rising signs and what not, and moreover, it should be possible to determine which astrological system is correct.
this problem seems so basic that even many ancient astrologers, in both mesopotamia and the greek world, seem to have discounted the divinatory potential of astrology, and treated stuff like the zodiac as modern astronomers do, as simply a form of celestial reference. it is sufficiently different as a practice that even people who thought chicken livers were a good mechanism for inquiry into the future looked at it and said “i dunno, this smells like bullshit to me.”

i remember you talking about some bls blowing up enough to leave the bl bubble (kinnporsche) and i kind of noticed bad buddy getting similar attention (eg reaction channels who usually only do western content checking it out) and i was wondering why you think bb in particular was able to do that. ik it was huge in bl fandom but (i guess at least for me) what made it stand out was the show calling past tropes out - which would obvs be lost on non-bl watchers. so.. what was the special sauce?
I'm not sure Bad Buddy was ultimately as successful as KP in this particular regard (reach). But I take your meeting so far as tendrils outside immediate fandom is concerned.
Tumblr media
I think where Bad Buddy is actually weakest (as an ambassador) is where the narrative is overly BL trope reliant. Especially in the region of campy humor and the war between the friendship groups. There's certainly some supporting elements that are quite weak (narratively) and too scenery chewing for a western audience.
Which is not a critique of Bad Buddy, it's one of Thailand's best university BLs but it is very much still a BL.
I think, like 2gether it did particularly well in Japan, which is often Asian content's first target market outside of home country. And that's where the tropes and camp worked in its favor.
KP managed to jump the shark market-wise and geographically, because it jumped the shark BL-wise. It was so wild it became the Sharknado of all romance for a while. It became the Rocky Horror Picture Show of BL. It hit the gay camp vibe.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, I don't think KP is the bellwether we should compare BB to. I think 2g is.
Sorry, I know a lot of people don't want to think about that show. But KP is an outlier. Which means the scion of BB is actually My School President. (GMMTV's #1 in views for 2023 by a landslide)
Tumblr media
So the real question is (putting aside KP) what makes specifically these GMMTV shows so successful on YT, and in Thai BL's highest hitting export countries - Thailand+surrounding, Japan*, India, America (all of it - English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, & French speaking), and Europe - probably in about that order.
The answer?
They remain closely tied to Yaoi roots, especially with regards popular character archetypes
They apply classic BL tropes
In classic BL settings (high-school & uni, baby)
They have lightness and humor in them
They are of a higher quality of production than most other Thai BL
They are pretty
They are well-acted (by Japan's standards)
(Incidentally the wildly successful non-GMMTV Thai BLs also have many of these qualities + HIGH HEAT. Bed Friend, Why RU, TharnType)
* Before you ask, I am 90% sure we don't see Japanese subs on YT because those are territory restricted and sold into Japan for redistribution... they're like that there.

Chapter 205 Trivia
How does a baby, with their chubby little fingers, snap them? Ryusui was obviously gifted with strong, dexterous fingers from a young age…
The flashback makes it seem like Ryusui is remembering the event, however: babies start walking between 6-18 months and Ryusui is being carried, speaking clearly is 12+ months, and memories like this one would only start from around 2-3 years onward.
Thus, this isn't Ryusui's memory.
(He was probably told about it, however remembering the 20 digit number as part of a memory is pretty impressive…)
Tumblr media
Speaking of, well, speaking: baby Ryusui sure learnt the word "desire" quickly, however pronunciation is harder. The baby speech is present in both languages, with the Japanese version saying "欲ちい"(hochī) rather than "欲しい" (hoshī).
Tumblr media
If we assume Ryusui is about 1 year old here for the reasons I listed above, that means that Sai is only 3 years older.
Because of Ryusui's various petrifications, Ryusui's aged about 3 years over that time.
I'm not sure who's the older brother now…
Tumblr media
Everyone's mental math methods shown here are references to the chapter 18 bonus story, when Chrome and Senku had the arithme-battle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ryusui's fangs seem a lot more prominent this chapter, I guess he's really sinking his teeth into getting Sai on board with their plan!
Tumblr media
This man here is Ryusui's uncle, who's been shown in a few flashbacks before. Where Ryusui and Sai's parents are is anyone's guess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The game character is wielding a gun and a sword, and wearing an outfit that looks like Ryusui's.
Or is Ryusui wearing an outfit that looks like the game character's..? 🤔
Tumblr media
The airplane Sai takes is based on a Japan Airlines Boeing 747-300 (or a 747-400, the difference isn't visible from the image). Both types are currently retired, the 300 in 2009 and the 400 in 2011, meaning Sai was still fairly young when he fled to university.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
None of Sai's code appears to be indented, but at least it's commented.
The specific integrated development environment (IDE) is hard to identify because most IDEs are highly modifiable and I believe almost any of them can be laid out like this.
Tumblr media
Semiconductors take weeks to make even with all the technology we have now. Trying to replicate those numerous steps in the stone world will be, as Senku says, hellish.
Tumblr media
The moon here is the exact same one shown in chapter 204, before the KoS arrived in India (literally the same, I superimposed them haha). It's a waning crescent, so it's around October 20th at this point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We've still seen no proof of Sai's mathematical ability apart from the flashback which could have been an exaggeration by Ryusui, so it's fair that Chrome and Chelsea seem to doubt his capabilities.
Tumblr media
Senku says they need "someone" to be ready 24/7 to do quick calculations, however forcing someone to stay up for 24 hours to do stressful math is asking for a disaster. They would have always needed more than one person doing math for safety reasons, even to just compare answers.
Tumblr media
(Also the concept of Whyman threatening them and/or attacking them even in space gets me excited!)
Thanks to Sai's petrification scars, he probably doesn't even need his charcoal pencils wrapped since the stain from the dust wouldn't show up on his hands!
Tumblr media
Also, Sai is ambidextrous!
Tumblr media
The code is mostly base16/hexadecimal (a combination of numbers between 0-9 and letters between A-F), however one of the panels seems to be base32 or something else since the letters M and K are present.
Another code, perhaps? 🤔
Tumblr media
Low-level programming languages like machine code and assembly language are difficult to use. Even Inagaki agrees!
This change already happened last chapter, but Chrome's cross-body bags got an upgrade!
Tumblr media
There's some old Norse runes carved into the sword, however at least two of the letters are flipped and trying to translate the rest seems to result in gibberish.
In Dragon Quest, the lettering usually simply reads "DRAGON QUEST" so maybe this somehow says "DOCTOR STONE"?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, the characters drawn here are inspired by real Dragon Quest characters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The gaming system shown is the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES): the Famicom. If you remember a differently-shaped NES, it's because it was replaced with a newer version for American markets.

I feel like the reason why people are pointing to JM akgaes is because there are more people in the current process of becoming JM akgaes, because the breaking point for a bunch of superbiased Jimin-biased Jikookers was the Face v. 7 comparison. Felt like this 'turnover' point for KTH akgaes from Tkkrs was 2017-18. The mistreatment rhetoric was everywhere and even today the Burn the Stage documentary is the holy grail of mistreatment for KTHs.
I wanted to ask you, BPP, what do you make of V's reduced streaming numbers in USA? I was surprised. Does this represent Army's true power with JM / JK's numbers being an additional cherry on top (or whole sundae on top) because of GP / casuals / solos ; or is this a sign of the 'split focus' so-called OT7s with a bias towards members who are central to BTS' image in the USA; or have KTHs done permanent damage to goodwill among Army?
I know you're not V biased but if you have a breakdown to offer I would be greatly interested. (Vminimin bias here).

Ngl, this reminds me of the discourse about the difference in streaming performance between JITB and Indigo, where RM's streaming numbers were more than Hobi's in the US (and globally). Hobi akgaes thought it was weird considering Hobi had just done Lollapalooza and had a huge turnout. Just like back then, people discounted just how much the fandom shows that everyone here really just does what they want, how people's music preferences show up in their streaming habits, and they aren't coerced to stream like mindless orangutans in the fandom. Tae's album, just like Hobi's album, is really good, but it's also not in a genre a lot of people find accessible, very enjoyable, and can withstand streaming incessantly.
Look at the difference in streams between Yet to Come and RUN BTS.
All that aside, my perception is that the maknae-line have many people who bias them from the USA, but far as I can tell, Jimin has the most dedicated fans in the US, UK and Korea + Japan; Jungkook in the US, India, France and Japan; and Taehyung in China, SEA, and to a lesser degree, Japan and the US. I recall I've seen a few surveys here and there a few years ago (before 2019) that showed popularity rankings in various regions, but those rankings are no longer reliable as they've been gamed to hell by akgaes (usually Taehyung solos based on the instances and call-outs I've seen).
So, coupled with the fact not a lot of people care to constantly stream V's sleepy, vibey, but admittedly tasteful album because it's not their taste, it's also possible Taehyung has fewer heavily-biased fans in the US to compulsively stream his album, compared to Jimin or Jungkook. The fact any of the members show up on the charts at all is because of OT7 ARMYs, who have the absolute numbers to place the members high enough to chart even if each ARMY only contributes a handful of streams. Any group of akgaes who have been trying and failing to rechart on the most exclusive charts will tell you the same thing. It's literally a numbers game and ARMYs simply have the numbers.
Those who are biased generally push for the members they bias more, other factors like the genre and listenability of the song influences how the wider fandom responds, and the core of the fandom remains OT7 ARMYs who push each project in any case, and are the reason any of these projects can get those sort of recognitions to begin with.
These aren't comparisons that matter to me for any member, not for my biases and not for the maknae-line, because I do think they're unhelpful, generally very reductive, and only serve the purpose of inflating the egos of various akgaes who weaponize this data to show other members in the group are less deserving of their accomplishments and/or any support those members receive.
It's not like Tae's doing bad either lol.
