i imagine that it wouldn't be a common thing at all but mixing all of this ancestries it's really fun i love doing it, even if they end up kinda op,, sometimes that's the fun of it yknow

I would prefer to not refer to them by any percentages, because that feels extremely uncomfortable, but yes I have oc legacies who are also direct descendants of deities. I talked about Anton in a previous ask (legacy of Mars, child of Ceres), and I have a legacy of Summanus kid in the works who is also a direct descendant of a wind god, but I haven't decided who exactly yet and I only have one doodle of them because they are a Literal Baby and that one doodle is them as a toddler being tiny and babey.

So let's talk about some rogues I've been working on!

These are my waterfowl lesbians. They are born out of me learning that in some myths, the Graeae can turn into swans and I thought it'd be fun to make an Enyo & Nemesis duo who can both turn into waterfowl, plus I also wanted to make an Enyo & Lua combo kid who can just telekentically throw weapons around, because that's cool. Also just playing around with Enyo kids having fire eyes/demigods with nonhuman traits, because Yes Please. It's just fun. Knives ended up with an Odile/Black Swan theme, just cause I thought it'd be neat and I wanted her to look cool. Anser has some swan Valkyrie theming kinda sprinkled in there just for flavor, ergo the Thor legacy (also just fun for her being super loud + a personal hc of mine about Norse rogues being more common) even though she's a goose, not a swan.

I have plenty of other multi-legacy demigods as well, just not ones who are direct descendants specifically, because a.) I always find it fun to think of how powers and themes would mesh, and b.) I actually have a very specific headcanon that multi-legacies are super common in the First and Second cohorts, due to the whole their-families-are-more-likely-to-live-in-New-Rome thing.

I've actually been bouncing around an idea recently of Roman demigods who are children of lares, because there is mythological precedent for that and technically they are house gods. It's just the mortal parent is probably a New Rome citizen and that's sure to get awkward quick some way or another. There's no way a lar parent can not end up awkward, which is hilarious. I also have a fun OC whose concept is based on the idea of two mortals who moved to New Rome with their demigod partners but one way or another ended up single again and then married each other and had a completely mortal kid who just. Grew up in New Rome and joined the legion anyways. I'm just a big fan of getting really funky with riordanverse ocs.

Like obviously the whole "they're just doing [x] for attention!" is completely asinine because humans are social creatures who need attention to some capacity, but also... in your narrative, does everybody do things specifically for your attention? When somebody does something drastic or shocking, is it not because they're desperate for help but just because they crave your attention specifically? Does the sun rise and set at your command as well?

IM GLAD YOU ASKED (although things have changed up a bit since the last time I talked in depth about her ahaha)

SO this is Sunni Dayes!! She's a fellow high school student of the group, she's an aspiring meteorologist who loves studying science + the weather (a small perk of her being a Descendant of Light), and has a teeny weeny tiny crush on Jay. Despite that, she puts it aside to work on being friends with Jay because of how much she admires him, and due to a school assignment the duo get closer during S2.

In S3, Nya and Jay break up for various spoilerific reasons, and Sunni's one of the people helping Jay pick up the pieces. During the following summer (in which S4 takes place), she interns at the same tv station where Jay is filming his game show, allowing them to spend more time together. When Jay heads off to the tournament, Sunni is part of Nya's rag-tag group that heads off to go "rescue" the other EMs.

Post-S4, she and Jay do start dating, but by S6 (or, during it, haven't decided), Jay cuts it off because he finally puts together the pieces about his own shortcomings (and, obviously, the fact he's still into Nya), bit it's something he wouldn't have figured out had he not taken the shot with Sunni, which Sunni herself is pleased about.

Thus Jay is able to use the experience of not being hyper-focused on Nya to reflect upon himself, how he pursues his relationships, and what it is he truly wants out of his life, while Sunni gets the reverse character development of focusing on herself beyond Jay (or even romance itself), though they absolutely stay friends \(*-*)/

(and then Sunni goes on to be one of the founders of the League of Jay during Prime Empire, along with Miranda and potentially Fugi-Dove snksnkskfhfs)

(And after that, Post-Merge she does achieve her dream of becoming a meteorologist/weatherwoman, though reporting on realm-changing quakes was not in the vision but at least she's able to make a difference and help out with her weather work <3)

I haven’t looked in on the unfinished side of our basement in a while and… my dad’s hoarding has actually gotten significantly worse. And we just heard from my grandfather last night that he’s pretty sure my grandmother is going to pass soon. And when that happens, my father’s hoarding is absolutely not going to get better. So. That’s a lot. I brought it up to my mom and she told ME to research psychiatrists that specialize in hoarding. It’s a very eldest daughter kind of day.

#it will be a relief when my grandmother passes mostly because it has been causing my grandfather so much pain to care for her like this #she’s been in decline since 2016 and has been in basically a vegetative state for the past 2 years #so we’ve already made our peace with that and started that grieving process #but I am the most worried for my father #he’s been in therapy for a couple of years #but he still doesn’t have many coping skills #his binge eating has gotten worse his hoarding has gotten worse #so we’re absolutely headed for a breakdown if intervention doesn’t happen NOW #and my mother has kind of resigned herself to it happening which means it’s all on me to make sure it doesn’t #because apparently I’m the only one in this house that actually gained coping skills #‘your parents trauma isn’t your responsibility’ i can hear my therapist saying #but Ashley I still have to live in their house so if I want to stay sane while living here #it has to be somebody’s responsibility #and like many times in my family history: nobody else is willing to do it so if I don’t do it it won’t get done #thank you for coming to my ted talk #taking a friend to see a movie later because his mother just had emergency spinal surgery and can’t walk #and she’ll be in a rehab facility for over a month #*heavy sigh* #eldest daughter syndrome

I don't want to mock NCIS in front of my mom, because she seems to enjoy it, but it does have the feel of a show whose writers were raised in complete isolation and they're only let out of their rooms to write more NCIS episodes and the only human people they're allowed to interact with during this period are other isolated NCIS writers.
