“If you know in one glimpse it’s legendary…what we thought was for all time was momentary…”

You tilted your head to the side as you watched the young man mumbled the lyrics to a song, his head resting on his forearm on the table. He was holding the glass of soju on his other. His voice had a certain melodic tone in it, and you were certain that he could be a singer had he wanted to. But now, he was a man that was too drunk to sit straight.

“Still alive killing time at the cemetery. Never quite buried…”

You blinked from your seat across him before turning to the doctor beside you who was busy grilling meat. Kim Seokjin appeared to not be bothered by how his brother was acting, only flashing you a smile when he saw you looking at him. He added another one on the pile of grilled meat he kept on placing on your plate. Meanwhile, Jungkook’s was almost gone and Seokjin still prioritized your plate over his.

You leaned closer, your voice barely a whisper amidst the din of the restaurant. "Is he going to be okay?" you asked, your gaze never leaving Jungkook's slouched form as he continued to sing. The noise inside the tented restaurant made it harder for him to hear you. It was like he wasn’t thinking too hard for the first time since you came barging in his life as he leaned down his head to hear you, his ear almost touching your lips from his proximity.

This seemed right, he thought, to be near you. It was like he was finally following his urges, letting his control slip for just a little for you.

And for the second time that night, your heart beat so loud it was a miracle that he couldn’t hear it, or that you didn’t go into cardiac arrest.

“Hmm?”

You cleared your throat before repeating your question. “He’s singing Taylor Swift’s new song. The album only came out this morning and it seems like he already memorized it…Is he okay?”

Seokjin looked up to watch his brokenhearted brother who was now unstealthily stealing meat from your plate, unaware of both your eyes on him. “Talking rings and talking cradles………I wish I could unrecall-“

Jungkook sniffed before eating the meat. It would have been hilarious to watch the tears falling from his eyes as he chewed, except that he looked like a child that was abandoned by the way his lips were pouted. The tattoos and the lip piercing did nothing to make him less endearing. You thought he was really just a charming person. But now he was just sad, as though he lost something he could never get back.

“-how we almost had it all.”

And then cue the endless tears.

Seokjin sighed, his eyes trained on the younger man he claimed to have raised on his own since he was thirteen. It was rare to see him cry. He always toughed it out, always had this innate need to prove himself to his older brothers despite the repeated assurance they gave him that they were tough so he wouldn’t need to. But he was stubborn. And in turn, he became a hardened man, a no-nonsense CEO and a violent leader of the underworld.

Well, until he married her. Suddenly, the sun seemed to have finally shone on his world. Seokjin could remember how happy and giddy Jungkook looked when he put the ring on her finger. He could remember how excited he was to come home to her everyday, even going as far as telling them how wonderful she was, or that cute thing she did for him, or how her cooking was the best he ever had.

Spoiler alert, though, she was the worst cook. She didn’t know that there was a distinct difference between a sugar and a salt, and no, just because they looked the same didn’t mean that they tasted the same.

See what love did to Jeon Jungkook, the pickiest person when it came to food?

Well, until she left.

“It’s not his birthday today,” Seokjin finally answered. “And eat. You’re far too thin.”

“Excuse me! I’m not!”

“Uhuh,” he said as he rolled his eyes. “Are you even eating three times a day?”

“Wh- well. N-no! Who has the time?” you sputtered, cheeks warming up from the attention you were getting from him.

He raised his brows at that before pointedly looking at your plate, making a mental note to ensure that your schedule from now on wouldn’t be so tight that you forgot to eat. Or better yet, he would personally visit the head of your department to berate him for not ensuring your well-being!

“And what do you mean that it’s not his birthday?”

“It’s his wedding anniversary today.”

Huh? Your eyes automatically went to his ring finger, only to find a tattoo that you didn’t notice before. It was a name. You thought that he must have been so in love to have permanently etched his wife’s name on his skin. However, another question popped in your mind.

“Then why is he here instead of with her?”

“She left her more than a year ago. He doesn’t know where she is right now.”

Your heart went out to the young man. He seemed to be so heartbroken evident from his tears and the sadness in his doe eyes. He was too young to be this sad, you thought. Seokjin’s eyes were on you as you looked at Jungkook. You were so soft, he thought. You wore your emotions on your sleeves, genuine concern etched on your face and he couldn’t help but marvel at your capacity for compassion despite only meeting him today.

“That’s so sad. No wonder he’s crying his heart out,” you mumbled, reaching out to pat the younger man’s broad back in display of silent support. “I don’t know how anyone can carry it.”

He nodded, “I don’t think I’ll ever have to know.”

You blinked owlishly at his statement. And when you turned to him, his eyes were dark. He was now looking at the glass of soju, twirling the liquid contents slowly.

“Why?” you asked what you shouldn’t have.

He smirked before drinking. His movements were languid before turning his dark and cold eyes to you. “Because, sunshine, I don’t think I have it in me to allow my wife to leave me.”

That should have been your first warning.

And to Kim Seokjin, that was his first warning to himself.

He didn’t avoid you. No.

But for the following week, he was distant. He smiled at you when he saw you, but other than that, he did not engage. He greeted you when you greeted him, but other than that, he claimed to have an urgent appointment every time.

See, one step forward was two steps backward when it came to him, you thought. And perhaps, it was for the better. Had this progressed beyond a harmless crush, you would have been hurt. You would only bring him down with you. So for the next days, you threw yourself at work, saying yes to whatever assistance your colleagues needed, even going as far as offering your help to their research.

What? It was an overtime which equated to overtime pay!

That was what you reasoned to yourself, and nope, it was not because you were avoiding excess time to think about that handsome doctor.

Perhaps, what deviated in your work was the amount of free meals the department was getting. It even came to the point was when you didn’t go out of the office for lunch, the department head himself went in and demanded you to eat. You were confused as you followed him out and wondered why he looked a bit terrified. Other than that, you week was calm.

This was good, you convinced yourself as you waited in line for your turn to order, less time with him meant that whatever crush you had for him would die a natural death. You certainly weren’t hurt that your last interaction meant nothing to him when he claimed to have wanted you there with him. You nodded to yourself as you thought that Seokjin looked like a walking heartbreak just waiting to happen.

“Come on, just admit you like her! Why else would you reallocate the budget to cater the food for their department?!”

Seokjin rolled his eyes at his Doctor Seong-min and his obnoxious voice. The two doctors decided to step out for the afternoon to grab a decent coffee. He shifted impatiently in line, silently willing the people ahead him to order faster so he could physically separate himself from his colleague and escape the conversation. He had yet to forgive him for almost getting the coffee his sunshine got for him.

Wait, what?!

His?

See, this was why he needed coffee!

“I heard our branch in the far province desperately needs a resident surgeon. Maybe you want to transfer there?” he asked quietly, the tone of threat not even hidden as he smiled at the man. The mention of transferring to a far-flung province was a thinly veiled threat, one that Seong-min knew Seokjin was all too capable of carrying out if pushed far enough.

“Damn, dude. Chill. If you don’t like her, just say so. I’m just 307% sure that you do-“

“We can’t have doctors that are bad at math! What do you mean 307%?!-“

“Oh, is it 400% now?” he blinked innocently at the man who was berating him, his voice increasing and his ears reddening from his emotions. It was fun to see him like this, Seong-min noted. He was always calm and collected even in the face of emergencies. Seokjin seemed to always know what to do in every situation, and now, one mention of your name and he became like this.

With a forced smile, Seokjin turned to face Seong-min, his voice low and tinged with frustration. "I don't know what you're talking about," he muttered, though the denial rang hollow even to his own ears.

Seong-min merely chuckled, unfazed by Seokjin's attempt at deflection. "Come on, Jin. It's written all over your face," he teased, leaning in closer as if sharing a secret. "You can't fool me.”

He glared at him and Seong-min felt a shiver down his spine as though he was facing a dangerous person and not the peace-loving and hardworking doctor he knew since they were in university. “Fine! I just asked because my friend saw Doctor Y/N and asked me to set her up with him! I was just being a good friend to you-“

What?

See, the mention of another man was what finally pushed him to the very edge and he could feel the fragile sanity of his breaking. However, what he didn’t expect from his genius brain was stupidity.

“Seong-min, are you even using your brain? Why would I, the perfect and genius Doctor Kim Seokjin, ever like someone as bland as her? I have taste. And she could never reach my taste in women. She’s not the same stature as me. She’s so far below me that it’s embarrassing to even insinuate that I feel something for her. Besides, I only entertain her because she’s funny-“

Seong-min’s eyes went in front as the line moved, and it was because of you.

With the steaming cup of hot coffee in your hand, you turned to them. You didn’t say anything. You just watched as Seokjin continued his tirade, completely unaware of your presence, adding lashes to your heart and ego.

God, you were so embarrassed. How could you have thought that he was anything but a rich man who looked down at people beneath him? How could he hurt you where it hurts?

“Honestly, the least she could do is to move faraway from me. She’s nothing-“

It was only when Seong-min pushed his shoulder that he finally noticed you and your tear-filled eyes. He blinked repeatedly as though he was just starting to understand of your presence here, that you were not just a figment of his worst nightmare came to life.

He called for you.

He knew he did.

But instead, you stalked away from him as you tried to salvage whatever was left of your dignity.

“Seriously, Seokjin, you’re an idiot,” Seong-min said, shaking his head in disdain. Seokjin had no choice but to agree.

He was the biggest idiot.

bts as musicals

simply put, bts as staged musicals i'm familiar with. a very random list and post i wrote up at 3am. it's not to be taken too seriously of course, and this is just my sleep-deprived opinion and take

namjoon - hamilton

i feel this is self explanatory for anyone familiar with both hamilton and nj

hamilton, entirely self written about a self-made man with the weight of the world on his shoulders who needed to prove himself, all while being completely in homage to rap legends through and through

HELLO????

hamilton is also a musical very centered around loss and i can really see that in joon

loss, rap, and the eternal internal struggle!!!

he'd have so much fun with it but it'd wreck him

satisfied especially

also i hate to make this point but when it comes to the hate that these two receive, sometimes it’s clear that it’s really forced hatred

seokjin - hairspray

the ladies choice amiright ladies?

obviously there’s link, the very attractive man who everyone wants

who is hopelessly in love with a plus sized beauty <3333 so jin

jin has often expressed his love of being “unserious” and we all know he can be like that mostly on camera, but he definitely has that more serious side that really is the basis for his character

isn’t that vaguely reminiscent of hairspray too though?

we often think of it as this unserious musical but it actually has more layers than one might remember, discussing prejudice, body image, individuality, self-image, integrity

i think all of those things matter a whole lot to seokjin

yoongi - les miserables

fuck the system

really, all about rebellion and revolution

but also let me break your heart a little

and let me make you remember that you’re actually living life

very similar themes across both yoongi’s solo work and les mis - injustice, class, tragedy, loss, to name a few. while also being so sympathetic towards its varied characters, reminiscent of yoongi’s sensitivity and mindset

shit think of how yoongi might react to 'i dreamed a dream'

hoseok - wicked

I think jack in the box just solidifies this as my pick for hoseok tbh

because there’s the childlike wonder side we all see and know (wizard of oz, j-hope of bts)

but then everything that surrounds it and the real story behind it (wicked, jitb)

both wicked and jitb offer a look into a “character” we think we’re familiar with, but it turns out we really aren’t

when we finally see them tell their story in their own words

elphaba struggles with her “role” and so does hobi, literally spelling it out for us in jitb

they both feel trapped, and thus reclaim and reinvent themselves

It’s a very identity-focused musical/album that still links back to prejudice in our world, too and "where they fit in"

jimin - chicago

sex

chicago is a look into fame/celebrity and corruption and ambition, and i think jimin has quite strong values when it comes to that

to me, it seems as though he finds those topics very interesting to think about

and also, how that all intersects with sexuality and gender

it feels like the crux of what chicago is as a musical but also who jimin presents himself to be

taehyung - west side story

i wanted something that’s a bit of a more classic musical for taehyung, and out of the ones i am familiar with, wss seemed the most fitting (tho i have a sneaky suspicion that one of the ones i am *not* familiar with might be more him)

taehyung is a romantic and, like nj, he almost romanticizes his losses and spends time looking back and reflecting on his own relationships and even his relationship with 'love' as a whole - layover proves it

so of course wss makes sense, the dance numbers, the longing, the risk of it all, the fact that it's story about "the power of love"

i think it'd leave quite the impact on tae, if he hasn't seen it yet

despite being a retelling of romeo & juliet (which tae would LOVE) wss also set the precedent for many musicals to come, much like tae did. looking back, it was very innovative for its time in so many different ways

musically, it's very taehyung. i could see him wanting to do covers of the songs. maria, tonight, and something's coming (he'd always go back to this song)

in every iteration of it, it's also very cinematic and very personal at the same time, which means it is very taehyung

jungkook - grease

I didn’t WANT to pick grease and feed into that stereotypical ‘bad boy jk’ idea

but like i can’t not

and it’s not so much that it is representative of who jk is as a person

except aesthetically (the dazed cover is proof)

but that i can see jungkook himself enjoying the musical numbers and poking fun at john travolta, imitating him in his dance moves

i think he’ll particularly enjoy “you’re the one that i want” and might develop some sort of ‘corruption’ fantasy of turning a good girl bad

this might be me projecting that i want jk to do to me shhhhhhh

oh and he will go through a phase of calling his car “grease lightning” and sing the song every damn time he gets in it

yeah it'd be hard as fuck to get jk to get rid of his john travolta impression

7. Jeon Jungkook - I'M SORRY. But this scrunchy bunny can build all the muscle he wants and drive whatever motorcycle he wants he is a SOFTIE. He is not scary at all, 0/10 scary level.

6. Min Yoongi - he can say whatever shit in his raps he wants, this man has admitted that he's never seriously yelled at anyone in his life. the scariest shit he'll do is say he's disappointed in you and you'll feel like crap for a hundred years. 1/10 scary level.

5. Kim Taehyung - he LOOKS scary on stage but i am pretty convinced it's just stage persona and he's not actually like that even when angry if the cameras aren't rolling. strikes me as more of a pouty, indignant whining angry bread boy. will threaten to shoot poison darts when mad - it's cute. 3/10 scary.

4. Kim Namjoon - quiet scary. gets TOO quiet and you're like oh shit, he's quiet. 4/10 scary level.

3. Jung Hoseok - can be 9/10 scary level but it only happens during dancing and never in ~the wild~ so it puts him in third.

2. Kim Seokjin - i dont need to even explain, do i? we've all see the looks. the LOOKS. can shut my obnoxious ass up with one (1) bombastic side-eye. 9/10 scary.

1. Park Jimin - WILL cut you, WILL fuck up your life and you will NEVER SEE IT COMING bc this sweet beautiful literal angel on earth tucked you in when you fell asleep on the couch yesterday 10/10 scary.

Oh, it was Wooyoung. Even though I’m more of a casual fan of Ateez, they were one of the first groups I liked and I immediately fell in love with Wooyoung... Iike loud people.

2. Between 2 and 6, who are you more attached to?

Jin was my first kpop bias, so it’s definitely him. He’s my comfort idol, he is so similar to me and I’m just super attached to him. Even now that I don’t listen to BTS as much, he’s always in my mind, and I miss him :(

3. If you were to spend the day with either 3 or 1, who would you choose and what would you do?

THIS IS SO HARD!!!! DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE

I guess Jun, he’s my #1 and we also are so similar. I would love to hang out with him, talk about animation movies, go out to eat spicy food (I can definitely keep up with him) and just talk A LOT. I also think he would probably know some cool and fun places that are totally my style. If I can cheat, I would ask him to bring Wonwoo with him 🫢

4. What is your favorite physical feature about 9?

I love the mole under his mouth! It what made me recognize him when I first got into treasure. I also need to say that his face overall reminds me of Gerard Way.

5. What is your favorite part of 6's personality?

I love everything about his personality, but I think his humor is just what I love the most... he is so unserious and I love that. I like that even when he is being serious, he is able to be calm and even joke around to ease the pressure/tension.

6. If you were to tell 8 anything you wanted, what you would you tell them?

I want to tell him that he is doing great, that I hope he keeps true to himself, no matter what. I also want him to know that I admire him so much for all the effort he puts to be better at what he loves and also that I’m a harry styles fan just like him.

7. Between 1 and 2, whose closet would you raid?

ignoring the fact that i’m waaaaaay shorter than both of them, I think I would go with Jun’s closet... there are a few pieces that I’m obsessed with. I also think both of them have a pretty chill style, which I like.

8. What is a style that you want to see 3 try?

i have two things in mind, either a classic rock vibe, like a rock ballad or more of an emo/pop-punk vibe, with raw vocals and relatable lyrics... i also have to say that i’m super biased because i want that for almost all my biases lol, but i really think it would suit wonwoo the best

9. Between 5 and 4, who are you closer to in height?

anyone in that list is way taller than me. these two are almost the same height, but it’s yunjin. apparently she’s 1.72, which is almost 20 cm taller than me lol

10. Between 10 and 9, whose music do you like the best?

this is such a tricky question. i think I’ll go with treasure, I LOVE their style and I just enjoy most of their songs. i rarely get into a group first just because of the music, but i did with them.

it’s so funny that you ask this because I literally just started to rewatch bv3 yesterday, now that weverse has an amazon fire tv stick app lol! it’s been a hot minute since I watched season 1 and 2 though, let me think…

okay so the absolute highlight of season 1 was taehyung and his dramatic, unhinged ass AHDJJG him getting lost in the middle of nowhere and just having the time of his life????? that man hasn’t had a single care in the world while everyone was worried about his whereabouts 😭😭😭 and when he trolled jimin, seokjin and jungkook (?) by using the director’s ear piece to listen to what they said on the mountain 😭 and that whole twisted role play thing they had going on on that train?? with his passport being apparently lost?? I cried they were SO unserious but taehyung was really the worst 😭 but they were also super cute moments, like when they all cuddled up in that camper van, or this tiny yoonmin moment 🥺

as for season 2, obviously jungkook and his one (1) shirt and grubby face 😭 he looked like nature has nearly taken its claim on him. and of course my taegi babes on their hawaiian date night 🥺🥺🥺 also when they all made up their iconic nicknames!! and the dancing on that same night!! ah I miss bon voyage so much it’s really my favourite format I think 😔

Hiiiiiiiii, I stumbled upon knocked the other day and it was such a good read, which lead me to your masterlist. I had a huge feeling I would like what I find but didn’t expect for your writing to be that good! Knocked was just a taste of what was to come!!. First of all I just want to say that, you have brought me to tears reading these two fics which is something because I rarely cry reading books/fic. You just have a way of describing what your characters are going through that feels so raw. Like when yn cried and felt embarrassed because Taehyung read her diary. I don’t know if that was your intention but yeah had me shedding a few tears here and there. My two faves are Mixtape and The Iron Ring. Which is so funny to me because I usually dont like reading these tropes and I especially avoid Soulmates tropes/au like the plague 😭😭

But the way you build it up was just chef kiss. When she felt the pull for the first time, I really thought it’s because her grandma was associated with the Fae world, my mind didn’t even go there. Tbh I went in reading TIR not thinking too much and was sucked into this world you created just like yn a bit. I was just blown away how you built this world and normally I have difficulty imagining fantasy beings, like its hard for me to visualize a mental image but Jimin was so clear in my mind. I could see/imagine the hair, the outfits and even his eyes and teeth. There’s so much I wanted to say, like how I think Dreadwolf/jungkook is actually really cool and bit scary at first tho. Also Khioneeeeeee omg I want to know more about her plssssss. When she was talking to yn before the battle you could tell she lived and witness so many things and wow your mind is incredible for writing all of this actually! I just want to say that TIR!yn was so unserious at times, the way she started giggling because seokjin asked her to bow that was sooo 😭😭😭😭 and the amount of references to GOT and ATLA . No i like her so much. Also the “checkmate” “that’s what she said” were just soooo 😭😭😭 I’m sorry but I laughed so much at these parts! Honestly would not mind a drabble of yn making jokes from her world while jimin is just ???? Okay I’m sorry this ask is all over the place but just wanted to let you know you’re an AMAZING WRITER and IM REALLY HAPPY I FOUND YOUR BLOG!!!!!!!! 💜💜💜💜

Ahhhhhhhh okay well HIIIII welcome to the chaos. I am so glad you found me! Knocked is definitely not what I would consider my usual writing, I'm definitely more fantasy/supernatural leaning but I am so glad that you liked it and that it brought you to me!

Mixtape is probably my favorite, just because it was the first series that I did on here and I absolutely fell in love with the friendships that I wrote for it. Reader's friend group holds a very special place in my heart and I really enjoyed writing gentle and patient Yoongi.

The Iron Ring is another fun one! That took AGES to write and there is a ton wrong with it/it's far from perfect but it's the first big fantasy piece that I put together so I am suuuper fond of it. I'm so glad that you felt sucked into the world because honestly, that is the number one thing I want to happen when I write fantasy. I want people to feel immersed and like reading the details is easy yet wonderful? I might revisit that world one day but there are sooooo many things I want to write.
