Still not over the fact they gave us the scenes in the crypts between Sansa and Tyrion, up to such a gentle and loving gesture in the form of a kiss on the hand, and D&D chickened out of it.

Like they could have been so good. And them not being together at the end doesn't ruin it- nothing in canon at all says they can't be together a few years or so post GoT and thats great. But still, of all the things D&D failed at with season 8 I think not including more of a hint at what that relationship could look like in the future was one of them.

Thinking about Sansa finding Tyrion again, the only non-related man in her life with any real respect or care for her, makes me so happy for her. Cause that, on top of her home, and family being safe? She will hav achieved everything she really ever wanted. And Sansa does very much deserve that.

I think it's fascinating that the quotes:

...and both categories manage to be a poignant statement about the nature of war and what it does to the people in it.

#everyone always talks about the more dramatic bits of rvb with the speeches and the 8+ seasons of plot development as the anti-war part #but the comedicization of the violence and death that the characters go through. the tongue-in-cheek gung-ho attitudes. #the way that they're so desensitized to the idea of death or gruesome injury to the point that it's!!! a comedy show!!! #all of that is just as much a statement of the fucked up nature of war!!! #it's like Col. Flagg and Frank Burns in M*A*S*H. they're so simultaneously into and detached from the war and it's a STATEMENT #idk I'm just. thinking about my favourite anti-war media. drawing mash-rvb parallels. and suddenly had to scream about it #might reread the paper on rvb being anti-war media. for enrichment. #not video games #late nights with ali #ali watches rvb #rvb #red vs blue

I want to point out that Aziraphale tries to stay. His first response to the Metatron's offer is, "I don't want to go back to Heaven."

I feel like people think he's going into this somewhat enthusiastically, but that's just not true. You can see the weight of his actions on his face, especially on the elevator at the end. He's not as ignorant or naive as people think. He's just in too deep.

He tries to say he doesn't want to go. That he's made a mistake (right before they leave, he says, "I think I--"), but he cuts himself off. I think this is because of two reasons.

Aziraphale is too scared to say no to an angel who outranks him (both because of who he's talking to, and his overall behavior when talking with other angels). Speaking to the Metatron is literally tantamount to speaking to God. Aziraphale is fully aware of this. He doesn't want to say no. Both out of fear, and because now, he has to save the world again.

He has it in his head that he has to fix Heaven. Not for the world, the other angels, or even for himself, but for Crowley. Even though Crowley said no and rejected him, Aziraphale doesn't know the real reason. He probably thinks that if things change, Crowley will be willing to join him again. But it isn't Heaven or Crowley that really stops Crowley from joining him. It's what already happened. Coming back to Heaven wouldn't erase God's mistake. It would only cover it up. This is what Aziraphale needs to learn. As well as the story of Crowley's fall and what it truly did to him.

But I don't think he really wanted to go. I think he knows exactly what this means, and I think the implications will be very interesting to see when season 3 comes out.

look none of the corporations in s8 were functional but octagon will always be by far the funniest to me. at least most of the other places had like......... living comforts. octagon was just two guys slowly losing their mind alone in a fucking Shape for the entirety of the season. they showed up and immediately got abandoned by rens broke hippie brother. they lived in a sewer. they got manipulated by "the viewers" into building a fuckoff big lightning rod noise machine directly outside of their house. ren called the octagon "the most pimp building in hermitcraft history" and doc agreed with him. octagon ate osha for fucking breakfast. they barely even made any sales. that place was a nightmare and i love it

Whoever did Reginald's costuming in particular... I'm obsessed with them. The progression from the softer colours and fabric, sloped shoulders, etc. in the earlier episodes: ep 3 especially the cream, wool jumper which was so un-Reginald and went far in making him seem fragile and elderly, that (despite Colm Feore being 63) Reginald never reads as. But as the season progresses and he weans himself off of the pills, his choices swing back to stiffer, darker fabrics and much sharper shapes. You barely even notice while it's happening across episodes but comparing them side by side and it becomes so obvious he was reverting back to himself, conveyed just through costumes AUGh
