Spotter boxmech. Unarmed, this particular loadout is geared towards marking and improving the accuracy of allies. Most often they'll be deployed alongside a sniper unit where the pair will exert control over the battlefield at a long range.
Spotters are often assigned to solar warriors as punishment duty. While exceptionally useful on the battlefield, and easy to earn respect in, there's no real glory to be had in painting targets for your allies. Furthermore, the lack of weapons makes any close encounters with enemy mechs a terrifying experience.

"Captain, I recommend War Emergency Power."
"I concur. I authorize War Emergency Power for the duration of the mission, and should I become incapacitated I authorize you to complete the mission, save the crew and protect yourself in that order."
If one ever finds themselves onboard a human ship and hears the above exchange, they may be wondering what is going on. Clearly something serious is happening, but just what is War Emergency Power and why do the Ship and the Captain exchange those words?
As mentioned in previous entries, humanity is old, and has been in space a long time. Even before that though, humanity fought on their own planet. They learned all too well that safety limitations can be hindrances during a true emergency. Limiters and fuses are set to protect equipment and prevent catastrophic failure. If one is at high risk of dying from enemy fire anyway, the catastrophic failure of a generator is secondary.
As a result, all human starships, of all shapes and sizes can - with the agreement of both the AI who is the ship and the human captain - authorize the use of War Emergency Power.
When authorized, all of the limiters on the power reactors, weapons systems and life support systems are disabled, all fuses are removed and the equipment will be able to run at a far higher power output than before.
For a short amount of time.
If War Emergency Power is left on however, the lives of the systems and reactors of the starships is greatly reduced, and in some rare cases, can detonate themselves, destroying the ship and anything in the general vicinity.
War Emergency Power enables human starships to do extraordinary things while it's in operation though. They can engage their wormhole generator and link from point to point multiple times in rapid succession, they can fire their weapon batteries extremely rapidly and in a head to head battle, can take on ships nearly twice as large as the human ship.
There are reports of wormhole generators linking themselves out of the ship, of slug launchers melting and exploding and of life support systems over pressurizing the ship, but still, all human ships come with the ability to enable such a large and reckless use of power.
When asked about why it's still on all human starships, most humans will respond with a variation of "when you need it, you need it."
Why the clarification of what the ship is to protect though? Through hard lessons with the very first AI ships, it became apparent that clarity of speech is the most important when giving what might be your last order. Human captains will state the priority of the AI if they are incapacitated and can no longer issue orders.
Complete the mission - if possible, do the thing they came there to do.
Save the Crew - if the mission cannot be completed, then do what is necessary to keep the crew alive and able to fight another day.
Protect yourself - Do not sacrifice yourself in the process of completing the first two orders. Selfless sacrifice is dramatic and makes for good stories back home, but surviving to fight again wins wars.
There are many instances of a Captain issuing the War Emergency Power order and being incapacitated and the ship successfully completing the mission, furthering the cause and earning a commendation.
There are just as many instances of the ship being completely destroyed.
When onboard a human ship, and you hear the Captain and the AI in charge exchange the ancient words and authorize War Emergency Power you should seek safety and be ready to follow the orders of any human who approaches you.
Even if they ask you to man the guns.

'Big Box' Heavy mech in use by the solar warriors. A heavily armoured breakthrough unit, positioned at the front of units, its goal is to draw fire while wrecking anything it gets close to. Although slow, clever squad-leaders can co-ordinate fire from archer and sniper variants to limit movement of enemy forces so it can close the distance.
Although it eschews ranged weaponry entirely, the big box is still capable of inflicting ruinous destruction from its pneumatic hammer. The sheer power of the weapon lets it punch through armour interrupted, and the shock from such hits can dislodge vital internal systems, stunning the target and opening them up for follow up hits, if they don't crumple immediately.
