Tendou and Nail Polish

@darthferbert's ask: For the doodlehead game, may I have Konoha Akinori and nail polish? If he's too much of a side character, how about Tendou Satori? Thank you! This is my first ask

Headcanon:

❥ Tendou was a nail biter, it’s how he originally started to paint his nails, however instead of funky colours it was with that disgusting tasting clear polish.

❥ Little did he know that this would start an obsession

❥ You can’t convince me that his two favourite colours to paint his nails are red (to match his hair) and black.

❥ He likes to change his nails as often as he has the time, his job isn’t kind on his nails or hands

❥ He also likes to have them painted for special occasions, sometimes he even goes out of his way to do small nail art drawings or swirls on his thumb nail.

❥ He loves to paint your nails when he can’t always keep his painted due to his work, always going out of his way to give you the funkiest patterns and jewels.

❥ He even managed to convince Ushijima to get his nails painted by him, although he only allowed either white or black.

❥ Despite not having his nails painted as often as Tendou, Ushijima likes to bring him new fancy colours that he finds on his travels and he keeps them all in a drawer even after they go out of date <3

until late at night in the shiratorizawa common room, they did the spicy ramen challenge.

man. shiratorizawa sure was scary on the court, but once you get to know them, they're an uNHINGED GROUP.

ojiro aran headcanons bc @luminouschaotic asked me if i had thoughts (which was. a while back) but i'm out of town for two weeks in a couple days and won't be on much so i wanted to get this done before then so LET'S GO!!

aran has like spidey-sense Chaos Instincts™️ honed by years of taking care of the miyas so much so that on his first day at inarizaki he feels a tingle down his spine and turns around just in time to catch akagi michinari falling out of a tree

aran, being the kind soul that he is, goes over to help. because if there's anything the miyas have taught him it's that if you don't intervene early on there WILL be even more severe consequences down the line than if you'd just helped them in the first place

it basically goes "hi i'm ojiro what do you need me to do and how much plausible deniability can i get from this"

don't worry akagi had just been get a paper airplane bc he might be a little shit but he's a little shit with morals who cares about the environment

he didn't get the airplane the branch broke before he could

akagi tells aran that he's going to try one more time and asks aran to stand under the tree so that aran can catch him if he falls again and aran's dreading the day akagi and the twins will finally meet

i actually think it WOULD be funny if kita and akagi had been childhood friends or something previously bc a) SOMEONE had to have been akagi's handle before high school and b) it just makes sense in my head

also i think a fundamental aspect of the shiratorizawa and inarizaki rivalry that we're overlooking is reon and aran bonding

like. they get it. they know what it's like. loving a place that does not always loves you back. having a home that does not always feel like a home. it can be hard, sometimes. but if there's one thing they agree on it's that their teams ALWAYS have their backs

(lev and liam my lovelies i have NOT forgotten about you)

also this just makes the whole "aran's irrational fear is tendou satori" a thousand times funnier

since it's established that aran references older pieces of media i like to think that means he sits down with like idk his grandparents probably and they watch all kinds of things together

sometimes the only other people who get aran's references are people who ALSO sit down and watch things with their grandparents (kuroo, kageyama, kita. . . )

the haikyuu club of good grandchildren . . .

anyways so that's how kita and aran become friends!!

oh my god . . . do you guys think his sister had those small kid puppy crushes on any of his friends . . . .

my vote is akagi or the miyas do you know how funny that would be

i think a bit that akagi does with aran is saying "oh my god this is just like [insert fictional media here]" when something (usually an Event™️ involving the miyas) happens and aran going "STOP SAYING THIS IS JUST LIKE [??] AND HELP ME"

when the third years graduate aran gives gin a gift and tells him not to open it until he gets home

when gin does open it he finds a booklet titled "how to survive the miyas: a comprehensive guide by ojiro aran" and it's at least a hundred pages long

the first page is an emergency contact list with the numbers of the miyas' parents, aran's parents, and every hospital/clinic within a fifteen-mile radius

definitely prefers a real newspaper to a digital one

i think the whole of the inarizaki third years are tech-averse tbh if you took them to one of those restaurants with the little robot servers with screens for faces they'd slow blink at it like really confused cats

this sucks especially for suna bc every time he gives his phone to one of them when he wants pictures of himself with someone or something they always come out blurry or too much exposure or some shit

i think aran and oomimi go hiking with each other on the weekends and are always pestering everyone else to go with them

they win when they promise everyone, yes, we can go out for brunch and boba after

(do the twins fall into a stream while trying to cross it? yes. did they still go to brunch afterwards, sopping wet? also yes. aran doesn't think he's ever laughed harder in his life.)

- right when you start to get up, he will literally pull you back and squeeze your stomach, making you almost punch him in the face. “Tendou I need to pee. So fucking bad please let go of me.”

- “I’m ok. You can suffer tho :)”

- you tried squirming but tendou was too tired to let you go. And also he needed cuddles right that second. What could he say? His needs were very important 💀 he finally let you go, and he found it absolutely HILARIOUS how fast you ran to the bathroom.

- “BAUAUSHUDHDUSHEUDHIDHDIDJF YOU RAN LIKE A FUCKING CHEETAH KDBISBSUDHIFBFFJ”

HAIKYUU READING HEAD CANONS —TENDOU SATORI!! ☆

Tendou is the type of person who has three different secret languages that he can fluently speak and write in. If he doesn’t know a word he’ll make up a new one and use it from now on or make what he calls a ‘temporary lexicon arrangement’ where he makes a new word only for that occasion. He’s really proud of it but never told anyone about it. Sometime he speaks to semi in the language and just loves seeing him get frustrated like ‘I swear I’ve heard you say that word last week what does it mean.”

Also, when he’s bored with studying, he’ll put the most brain-rotting words in place of the important nouns: “okay so if I’m getting this right the peppa-pig is located in the ohio-level three gyat. It’s function is to rizz the memory, intelligence and the…one-two-buckle-my-shoe..? Sounds about right.”

(this is also another language he understands, and it helps him understand the material)

a/n: today i present horndog boyfriends being just barely controlled because you’re so damn hot and they don’t know what to do. also kuroo’s is probably where i needed more restraint lmao

ushijima:

there was something in the air that day and he couldn’t quite figure it out

you weren’t even doing anything particularly... scandalous?

or at least, to you

to you, you were just simply wearing one of those tee shirts for staying at home and shorts

but to wakatoshi those shorts hugged but barely covered your ass and he could not stop looking

throughout the day you become increasingly aware of heavy hands on you

maybe you were in the kitchen preparing something and you’d feel his large hands suddenly rest on your waist and linger there as he stood behind you

“hi toshi” you’d giggle as he rested his chin on your shoulder

“hi darling” and those hands on your hips would just give the slightest squeeze to remind you where they were

or one of these other moments it’s a hand resting on the nape of your neck, giving you a slight massage

or hands trailing up your arms

or maybe you’re both aimlessly watching tv and his large hand is on your exposed thigh

he had already pulled your legs so that they’d be resting over his lap instead of -- anywhere else

as you glance over to look at him, you see that his gaze is fixed on your legs, the one hand on your thigh casually trailing up to dangerous teasing territory

“are you trying to hint at something, toshi?” you casually ask

his eyes snap to you and you see his cheeks starting to tint pink

he tries his best to deadpan a solid “no” but something hard resting against your calf says otherwise

you can genuinely feel the weight of his gaze on you

he won’t even say anything

but here you are at home in pajama pants and a tank top that hugs you so damn perfectly

your hair was tied up too (or if it’s short, it was simply pushed back away from your face) so really, everything was kind of on display (to him)

he could barely contain himself

but you’re his anyway, so who’s going to deny him the pleasure of looking

you were working on something in the kitchen and you accidentally dropped your pencil

you could still feel his gaze as you bend down to reach for it

when you looked back at him he was unabashedly staring with his jaw clenched

he even makes his way to the table where you’re actually trying to get work done and he pretends to scroll on his phone

he’s just sneaking more glances i can’t with him

this one time you catch him, “eyes up here satori” you chuckle

even when you get up to get a glass of water you see his eyes scan you up and down without a single ounce of shame

just this devious smirk plastered on his face

he’s completely fine if you don’t want to actually do anything - in the event that you aren’t in the mood

but he’ll damn well let you know about it, just so you’re aware

so you were watching a movie

perhaps your were wearing nothing but one of his large shirts because they’re basically a dress on you anyway

you were feeling particularly touchy and so you were sat between his legs, mainly wanting to be close to him

you didn’t realize that this position would leave you so vulnerable to his antics

“kitten,” he says into your ear, “you look so hot right now”

at first you thought he was joking, after all, what you were wearing wasn’t that flattering - to you

you chuckled in return, jokingly batting his head away, not really giving his words much thought

“i’m serious,” he says, voice much lower in your ear, “i want to bend you over this couch”

suddenly, you’re feeling much warmer even though you aren’t wearing much

but he continues, arms wrapping around your middle and pressing your torso against his

hello i once again return with some headcanons no one asked for B)

what if some nerdy boys found out that you were also a nerd?? I feel like when I tell people I like manga or video games it somehow changes their perspective of me so I tried writing it :)

when he hears you’re a gamer, he lights up so fast; like a cat when you open a can of food

if you’re talking to someone else, he’ll pretend he didn’t overhear, but really he’s hanging on to every word you say

if you’re talking to him, he’ll begin asking you your favorite games with a sparkle in his eye

if you ask to swap friend codes he’ll gladly oblige

once you accept his friend request he’s immediately scanning through your library to see what you’ve played

if he sees that you play a lot of games that he plays as well, he’ll get butterflies 💕

in the future he’ll definitely be more open and trusting towards you, since you’re a fellow nerd

will send you video game news and announcements through text, asking if you’re going to get the new game or whatever

he definitely loves it when you send memes or geek out about a game, no matter how much you may spam him he’s reading all of it!!

if you ask him to put his minecraft bed next to yours (even as a joke) he might malfunction for a bit

congrats you now have a high level friend that can carry you on all the hard bosses

he’s also the type to give you a bunch of high level items and money when you play an online game together (because he's absolutely enamored 😳)

if you tell him you read shounen jump he’ll probably fall in love on the spot

ok maybe not that fast, but he’s definitely excited to finally have someone to talk to about weekly chapters

he’ll ask to swap numbers too so you can send each other memes and theories about the mangas being serialized

sends a “good morning!” and “goodnight!” everyday to you with a meme or cool fanart related to the manga you’ve been discussing

he absolutely loves it when you ramble about characters, storytelling techniques, how the good the anime adaption is, and other extremely niche nerdy details

if you cry when your favorite character dies, he’ll think it’s so cute and endearing

he’ll tease you at first, but will comfort you nonetheless without being condescending or judging you

he will subtly try to act like characters that you simp for

tendou worries that your reputation might take a hit if you’re seen hanging out with him all the time, so he asks you if it’s okay

“of course it’s fine, talking to you makes my day more fun! plus, who else would I cry to about fictional characters?”

he’s frozen for a moment before bursting out into laughter with heated cheeks

if he hadn’t fallen for you already, he definitely knew this was the final nail in the coffin 💘

tsukishima kei

ok i’m imagining a gecko or bug that accidentally got into the classroom and no one wants to touch it because they think it’s gross

tsukishima would, but he doesn’t want to attract any unnecessary attention so he just sits back and watches his classmates scramble about

until you show up and gracefully scoop up the lil guy with tenderness and adoration, carefully heading towards the door to release it outside

he probably already thought you were cute, but now he has a reason to talk to you that doesn’t seem forced

he stops you before you get out the door, asking to see the creature in your hands

you ask if he wants to hold it, he’s a little surprised but will say yes

when your hand brushes his, adrenaline explodes in his body but he makes no outward indication about how nervous he really is

you excitedly ask if he likes creatures too, which leads to a wonderful conversation about how bugs and stuff are actually really cool

until you both remember that he still has a bug in his hands that needs to be outside

you continue chatting while heading towards the door and it might seem like he’s not listening; responding with one word answers and nods, but he’s just trying to keep his cool

if you exchange numbers, he’ll send you pictures of bugs or reptiles he finds outside that he thinks you might like

if you have any pets that require tanks (fish, bugs, reptiles, amphibians etc) he’ll subtly ask to come over so he can check them out

“hey, we should study at your place sometime.”

“you know you can just ask me if you wanna see my pets lol”

He gives this sweetest hugs. They’re just absolutely perfect, it’s always like ur hugging a very soft pillow.

The reason for his delicate hugs is that he wants you to feel all the love he didn’t get the pleasure to experience growing up.

My sweet redhead boy was bullied cuz of his cute little bowl cut. I’m a firm believer that he didn’t receive many hugs and it made him so sad cuz all the other kids got to hug each other

When ur in a bad mood he brings u his homemade chocolate and u two watch movies.

Idc what anyone says, tendou's main love language is physical contact/affection.

Sometimes he'll strip just for the purpose of feeling his skin on yours, its not even sexual. he just wants to love on u

okay but imagine tendou gets his buzzcut on like the last 2 weeks of school and so everyday he has to deal with all his friends either touching or rubbing his bald head

Sometimes they’ll gather around him in a circle like they’re going to sacrifice him or something and they’ll all just vigorously ruffle his head for about 10 minutes

semi especially likes to grip onto tendou’s head like it’s a basketball, while ushijima has developed a new stim where he rubs his cheek on tendou’s head to calm himself down, and yamagata hits tendou on the back of the head any chance he gets

he pretends to be all mad about it, but you know he's just joking around

so when you're gone, suna has to physically hOLD HIMSELF BACK FROM CALLING YOU EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY

"she wouldn't want a clingy boyfr— husband." he corrects himself

yeah, he calls you anyway.

when you pick up, you say, "hello, my tarō! how are you?" in that sICKENINGLY KIND TONE SUNA HAS OH, SO MISSED 😭😭

you've only been gone for three days

"please come home. i miss you. please." did he just say please twice?

when you're finally home, it takes every inch of sanity left in suna so as not to drag you away for cuddles

the expression on his face tells you everything, and you giggle. "i'll just shower first, then we can cuddle." and his face LIGHTS UP

IWAIZUMI HAJIME

"even oikawa's said some terrible jokes, but this one is by far the worst."

"nope! it's not a joke, baby."

when you're gone, iwaizumi is so upset because you'd usually give him a little kiss goodbye whenever he goes off to work :((

so now he's extra grumpy while coaching the national jpn team.

"oi, hinata! you should've been able to get that one!"

"if you can't hit it right, another hundred laps for you, ushiwaka!"

"suna, stop slacking off, or i'll have that old captain of yours come back and scold you!"

suna knows iwaizumi's threat was only towards him, but that statement got even ATSUMU AND ARAN SHIVERING.

SO THE TEAM IS ALL LIKE "???" BECAUSE WHO PUSHED IWAIZUMI'S BUTTONS SO EARLY IN THE MORNING 😭

"which one of you is it. come on, fess up!" hoshiumi hisses

"i believe bokuto lost iwaizumi's pen the other day." ushijima states

"wow, are we just throwing each other under the bus now?" suna snickers

"it was an accident! i didn't know he'd get this mad about it!" bokuto tried to defend himself, "come on, tell them, atsumu!"

"i was in cafeteria with grey." atsumu lifts both hands up, metaphorically waving the white flag

"you all are insufferable." sakusa groans

you can imagine how confused the team got when after three months, iwaizumi's mood was no longer grouchy since you had finally come home

back when they first played shiratorizawa aran didn't know what to do bc tendou kept yelling weird shit at him and aran was, quite honestly, frightened for his life

tendou: "watch this i'm going to intimidate their ace so hard he won't be able to play properly and we'll win!" semi: "okay, what are you going to - " tendou, putting his hands around his mouth for the whole stadium to hear: "HEY NUMBER EIGHT, GET READY FOR ME TO PISS IN YOUR PANTS" semi: "dude what the fuck"

the twins are SO ready to fight and they probably would have if kita hadn't stepped in

kita didn't even have to do much he just stared down tendou with all the energy of "your most respected/favorite teacher is disappointed in you and you're going to cry bc of it" and tendou backed off

(for all of five minutes. then he started dumping on akagi but akagi gives what he gets so what the hell, kita let it slide)

this might be considered bad sportmanship tbh but it's funny as fuck so whatever

i think bc aran's the ace and court captain people try to follow his lead at school or ask him to make the final decision on things and such and he HATES it. it's soooooo much pressure and he really doesn't want to disappoint anyone!!

like no he does NOT want to be the tiebreaker for what their class should do during the school festival he just wants to walk around and eat a crepe. no he does NOT want to choose what paint color looks best for remodeling the garden fence why the fuck are you even asking him he's part of the volleyball club!!!! he always texts kita for help when this happens LMAO

and even if he DOES mess up the other students are always like, "ah, of course ojiro-san would do that!! he totally did that on purpose!! of course it's because [insert farfetched excuse here]!! why didn't we think of that either!!!"

if anyone's ever seen or read handa-kun (light-hearted prequel/spin-off to barakamon <33) it's basically that LMAO

kita's surprisingly good at telling scary stories

not just that but he tells normal stories in such a way that most people think he's telling a scary story first and then he says some totally mundane shit like "and that's why we no longer store our towels under the bed" and people are like. damn guess i'm not doing that either!!!

every day suna texts his sister one funny zero-context quote from practice. his sister has collected all of these and set up a twitter account for them.

gin thinks atsumu is going to get his ass kicked for not knowing when to shut the fuck up. atsumu thinks he's going to get his ass kicked because osamu paid someone to do it

osamu insists he wouldn't tho bc then he'd just do it himself for free

akagi, aran, and kita tease oomimi for being younger than them and make a running joke of ruffling his hair like a little kid which oomimi actually finds really comforting bc people usually shy away from being tactile with him. like guys come on oomimi is a sweetheart i love him so much

i’m having a mini tendou brain rot rn. like im just thinking of you trying sleep in your shared bed & he’s banging around in the kitchen (you’re half certain he’s cooking meth) & he comes up with a tray of weird food combos that he thinks are completely normal & tells you it’s a “midnight snack”. it also just so happens to be 2:47 am.

idk abt you guys but i’d probably take the ‘reasonable’ snacks & try them before making him put the tray downstairs & demand cuddles cuz he’s been keeping you up with his shenanigans. i’m sure he’d try & goof off in the bed too but by then im setting him straight by telling him he will have to sleep on the couch if he keeps it up.

i’m sure he will comply bc he loves you & what not, but gee that man is no good for people who acknowledge the existence of sleep.

Uh, yes I can do my best, lol! Tendou and f!Reader bestie headcanons below!

-So, firstly, I think Tendou would be a menace of a friend. Assuming he's taller than you, he'd take books out of your hands and put them on top of the lockers in the middle of the conversation and then pretend he hasn't. He'd refuse to give it back and you'd have to rope in Reon to fetch it for you.

-Tendou would love going out to get ice cream with his friends, including you, and he'd never pay ever. (However, if you're having a bad day or you've got bad cramps, he'd buy ice-cream and more)

-He would get you into all his favourite manga series and you'd share a mismatched series of all your favourites.

-He never approves of your partner and insists that they're all boring, no matter how interesting they genuinely are. He's just biased and believes that no one deserves to date his awesome best friend :)

-You both get in loads of trouble when you sneak around the respective boy/girl dormitories to meet up.

-Tendou tells you ALL the volleyball gossip and you share any gossip he's missed (he always enjoys telling you about the latest fight Semi and Shirabu have had)

-If you're in the years below him, he insists he will help you out with your foreign language courses and just ends up doing your homework for you because he'd find it easy.

-You bitch about his dad together.

-You once nearly got a suspension when you punched someone who was trying to pick on him (he made your favourite cake as a thank you)

-He tried teaching you how to bake but it went badly.

-You go to as many volleyball games as possible and always cheer the loudest when he gets a point until other students around you are glaring at you for not shutting up. You don't entirely care

Idk how this went because I've never done any reader based things before so I apologise if this isn't what you expected? Also I just woke up and it sucks lol

✤ He has been called a monster, a creep and every name in the book, whether it may be in the past or the present, to his face or behind his back. He can never escape them, so this precious boy's self-esteem is at a negative 100.

✤ So imagine his surprise when you confess to him one day that you like him.

✤ For a minute, he felt that you were playing a prank on him, the meanest prank that anyone has played on him. He liked you, yes. You were kind, sweet and cute. You were one of the few people that really knows who he is. But he always felt that he wasn't good enough for you, that he was dirt stuck under a shoe; worthless and disgusting.

✤ It took him a moment to realize that you weren't joking around, that you were telling the truth. You genuinely did have feelings for him.

When you are in a relationship!

✤ You will need a lot of patience with this man.

✤ Not because he's super high maintenance, no. It's because, as stated above, this precious boy is overflowing with insecurities.
