“What do you mean there’s still so much biphobia in fan spaces? Bisexuals are like some of the most popular characters!”
Yeah, and they either get treated like this:

LGBTQ+ Disabled Characters Showdown Round 1, Wave 5, Poll 10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A character being totally canon LGBTQ+ and disabled was not required to be in this competition. Please check qualifications and propaganda before asking why a character is included.
Check out the other polls in this wave and prior here.
Quinni Gallagher-Jones-Heartbreak High
Qualifications:
Quinni is canonically autistic and a lesbian!
Quinn is a lesbian and is also autistic
she is autistic and sapphic
She is a lesbian and autistic
she is canonically autistic and canonically a lesbian
Propaganda:
Quinni is honestly the best. She is such a fiercely loyal friend and such an open and understanding person. Her fashion is everything! She gives way more chances to people than they may deserve. She is autistic and is very open about this. She also gets a romantic storyline. She's got great friends who stick with her through everything, especially her best friend Darren. The actress who plays Quinni is autistic and does a fantastic job with the role! She means a whole lot to me!
She is just the best ever I love her so much :) such a ray of sunshine! and the actress who plays her is also autistic so the rep is great!
quinni is canonically a lesbian and also autistic. while being autistic is an important part of her storyline it doesn’t define who she is as a character. same with being gay. quinni is a queen!
just a bubbly teen with autism who loves fantasy novels, bright makeup, wearing Crocs and girls(!!) <3
she is played by an autistic and queer actor who advocates for this kind of representation, she’s genuinely the best representation i’ve ever seen of autism especially when it comes to sensory issues and meltdowns, she also dates a girl and is an important main character
Anything Else?:
I mean look at her, the cutest ever (Submitter 2)
Ricky Potts-Ride the Cyclone
Qualifications:
he canonically has an unnamed degenerative disease and cant talk/walk without mobility aids (fuck the new script, we reject the new script, ricky is and always will be disabled) and, while not stated in cannon, is so extremely queer and trans coded
Propaganda:
the fandom all collectively agrees that his ass is NOT cis or straight, but we still fight over his exact identity (to this day ive never seen anyone who doesnt see ricky as trans), hes a badass autistic-coded silly guy who can play like 5 instruments and day dreams abt fucking alien cat women in space, and hes a big symbol for disability and ableism in theatre

Hopefully, this ask won’t get you in trouble. If you feel it does, then feel free to disregard this. Or if you don’t feel comfortable or confident talking about it, cause it does involve talking about ships.
But it somewhat feels like Horikoshi for the later chapters seems to be catering for same sex pairings, like Midoriya always being around Bakugou, or Ochako’s most significant moments now being around Toga. At least to me.
And the fact he seems to be focusing on same sex pairings certainly isn’t the problem.
The problem is the fact is the pairings he’s focusing on are f****** shit!
BakuDeku is an angry asshole bossing around and being a d*****bag to a boy that has been conditioned to think so highly of his abuser. This is a hop, skip and a jump away from Stockholm Syndrome.
Togachako, imo, is slightly worse than BakuDeku (but not by much) simply because it’s a very one sided relationship where one partner always has to cater to the problems of the other with no sign of returned love or reciprocated love. I wouldn’t trust Toga to know when she’s had enough of my blood. Why should I believe she would know where to stop drinking Ochako’s blood? And despite the images throughout their fight, like Toga GROPING Ochako, Horikoshi, for some disturbing reason, tries SO hard to paint this as a CUTE couple. (Hell, the dude could be showing Toga literally EATING Ochako and somehow paint it as an endearing thing…)
Why is Horikoshi banking on these toxic forms of love for the LGBTQ when he’s had more HEALTHIER couples?!?
TodoDeku? Tsuchako? IidaDeku? Minachako?
Hell, there are other pairings that were literally already there!
MomoJirou!
Mirio and Amajiki!
It’s just…it’s baffling why BakuDeku and Togachako are paraded as these fantastic M/M and W/W ships when they are anything BUT.
I have a sapphic couple in their wedding dresses as my pfp and my user is sapphic-agent... I'd honestly be impressed if someone could accuse me of homophobia😆Feel free to submit any LGBTQIA asks :)
In the case of TogaChako, I just think Toga herself is queer-bait. Among BakuDeku and other queer ships becoming popular, good old Hori probably thought to himself, "What's the best way to capitalize on this?" without actually putting any thought or care into it (like with Bakugou's redemption once he started to become popular). So he made Toga canonically bisexual (I'm like 90% sure she wasn't originally intended to be bi as she was way more infatuated with Izuku than Uraraka initially). And she's bad rep to boot. Horikoshi is making his only canonically queer character a predator... that's not a good look.
I even like Toga. Or, I liked how much potential she had at the beginning of the series. She was original and I liked her quirk. He could have given her a lot of depth, but nah let's just make her creepy and a predator mfers will eat it right up... And he was right unfortunately.
What makes it worse is that Uraraka has to be at the center of Toga's advances (again, WHY THE GROPING PANEL). Idk if it's because she's the main girl or what, but she deserved better than this.
(Tbh, I know she's Izuku's LI, but her and Tsu are way cuter and a lot healthier than her and Toga)
BakuDeku I feel like is part of that queer-baiting. Look, the fact is that it will never be canon. We know it, the shippers know it (even if they feign delusion), and Horikoshi knows it. But that doesn't mean Hori isn't milking it for all its worth. Do you see how the shippers go nuts when Izuku and Bakugou are in the same panel together? The entire MHA feed will be filled with it here on Tumblr for weeks. They eat that shit up and Horikoshi knows that. That's part of the reason why he forced reconciliation between them, so that he'd have more content for them to froth at the mouth over.

Overall rating: 10/10
I can't do a traditional pro cons list because I can't think of a thing I would have wanted different, outside of topics I cant "review" of course (more on this later). However before we get too far I need to lay out the setting so you know what you are getting into! This is a graphic novel about magic realism set in 1930s Mississippi. It follows women (and two girls) of color and their attempt to make cash doing illegal broom racing to make their lives, well easier for one, but also safer.
This isnt a utopia, magic is woven into the racism of the era. No slurs are used but subtle racism is depicted. There is a hierarchy of legality of who can use magic and what kind. It's a underdog story of solidarity and love, it has that "one last job and we retire" energy. While the young girls learn to harness their magic the police patrol, they are supported by a type of found family along side their blood family.
There is a happy ending I will at least spoil that much.
The blending of era and magic is lovingly crafted. For instance one character, Loretta, works as a laundress, she, like a lot of women in the time and place struggle with money and finds work where she can. Magic here isn't like the cheat code for easy living, she cant just magic the cloths clean and mended. It's a muscle to train and partner with not a deus ex eject button for every little thing. Each character reveals so much yet so little of themselves to us and there is an epiloge of sorts that delights the mind to want more of these characters. So I guess my point is, yes magic but also hardships and I've never seen it done like this before.
So all that said let me pull back on all the other things about this story and answer the question...
Hows the fat rep?: The characters come in many sizes, Loretta seems to be the biggest of her friend group. Her weight is never mentioned, no jokes about how a fat person could ride a broom! She's got a loving husband (no jokes about the size difference!) Billie Mae is the second biggest of the main cast perhaps more musclar than fat but is distinct imo in body shape and build and its my review so...she's different from Loretta, Lor is femme leaning and Billie is butch and here too there are no jokes it's simply a part of her design, shes the only woman on the team to wear pants. There are background and unnamed fat characters! You'd be suprised how hard that is to find.
This is very much a situation where weight is not brought up, it exists as a thing and thats it. And I appreciate that because fat peoples lives shouldn't be all about our weight, we deserve to exist with hobbies and interests and jobs.
Additionally: You might have seen that trend where people list off rep of a book and don't even mention the plot? Well I hope my introduction was enough to cover story and such because this comic has: visible and invisible disability rep, sapphics, a trans main character, and remember how I gushed about unnamed characters? There's also physical disabilities. The attention to detail while designing otherwise nameless characters is appreciated.
My limits as a reviewer:
I can't say if there good enough representation for Black women btw. For me this was obvious but I'm adding it just in case.
A main character is Deaf and due to the limitations of the medium the artist and writer had to imply signs. Consideration for the eye line of this character is given, she will bump and nudge people to turn towards her so she can read lips. I cannot say if this is a good compromise or not.
The issue of cultural appropriation could be had. It is mentioned that the author worked with the language experts from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, and in story residential schools are mentioned and briefly depicted. Was this respectful or enough research I cannot say.
You mighy find additional concern with the trans rep, it is mentioned that an outside source was consulted to bring authenticity. Related, a person was consulted about the Cantonese depicted. Was this enough I cannot say.
Individuals will each have their own feelings about own voices vs researched stories. There's no one perfect answer but I can only provide the info that's in the book to help you make informed decisions.

Currently circulating critical discussion of JRWI:
(all times are in AEDT) (i apologise in advance if there any errors in summation, quotation or image descriptions)
A FORMER POST THAT MAY BE RELEVANT ON POC IN RIPTIDE (JUNE 30TH 2022)
Captain Lizzie (Riptide)
@ / notferinweII on Twitter Feb 1st 8:07AM READ HERE
as a black lesbian this stinksss
Tumblr media
“people will tell me, the creator of the character, that im wrong” the same guy who “never meant to imply Lizzie was POC” the same guy who compared her skin tone to kylie jenner AND rihanna (rihanna who is a black woman herself) , said she was a pale white pirate woman but also
Tumblr media
has olive skin but also has tanned skin but also grew up pale blonde hair that darkened in the sun throughout her time on the black rose pirate ship . a very long and insightful thread about the lack of poc characters in jrwi was posted in JUNE with the singular black npc
being announced on november 13 2022 for episode EIGHTY SEVEN of riptide . on the same day , you wrote a post about wanting us the viewers feel comfortable , REPRESENTED , and respected . lizzie’s skin colour absolutely changes her character because she could be strong WOC rep .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now lesbian lizzie has been a very strong headcanon throughout the community for a very long time (i’m going to ignore pistolwhip’s influence for a second this is just about lizzie) due to the extreme lack of lesbian or even sapphic rep in jrwi as an entire podcast .
Tumblr media
you yourself stated you want all to feel represented in your campaign . and yet whenever you’re asked about lizzie’s sexuality you brush it off and say “it doesn’t matter” maybe to You but it very much matters to lesbian jrwitwt who are often left grasping at crumbs and battling
intense lesbiphobia (not lesbophobia 😉🥂) from the community in general . a canonical lesbian would be big for lesbian fans !! we love and adore lizzie as a character and we would love to see really ANYTHING about her canonized but it’s always silence .
now back to pistolwhip . i can understand the resistance to making them canon as it could take away from the action of the story (im really trying to see the other side here i’m trying) however the way you constantly dismiss the ship
but still milking fans for fan service… what happened to "u guys dont want pistolwhip" when lizzie called jay sunshine. or when lizzie winked at jay and told her to "be safe"? the way you constantly insists that "you guys dont want this to happen" while simultaneously egging
fans on is tiring for all involved TLDR : canonize lizzie’s skin tone and stick to it . if she’s white , say it. the lack of canonization while being upset fans “take the character and say i’m wrong” is a weird thing to get angry about considering little about lizzie is canon

representation that is left up to interpretation is not representation. you are asking the viewer to imagine the representation is there, without actually committing to including it yourself. be better.
Disability
@jayferins Feb 4th 11:20AM READ HERE
An anon asks about what Grizzly had said about a disabled character in PD, also adding in their own notes about Drey's disability. To summise their notes: it's surprising Drey is the only disabled character in Riptide; his diability is primarily a punchline for jokes; Drey is treated as being unfit to fight due to his disability, which can easily be remedied in fantasy through use of mobility aids that can also be altered to make for cool magical weapons. I myself would like to note that Chip has a prosthetic finger, which makes this choice even more strange.
To summise the response: meeting a former villain who's now a wheelchair user, the characters ask what happened; Dakota (played by Grizzly) reacted extremely poorly and said to their face they, "deserved it," and that, "you had it coming, karmas a bitch," in reference to being disabled; being disabled is not a punishment or a sin, it's just something that occurs, and this mindset is a bad one to have; Grizzly defended the decision to play the character this way when he recieved criticism about it.
Neurodivergency
@jayferins Feb 4th 5:21AM READ HERE
An anon comments, to summise: the amount of jokes made about schizophrenia and the psychotic comments aren't it; the way they treated Vyncent's character with the Greats wasn't that great; the jokes are treated like nothing which is frustrating knowing the amount of harm perpetuated stigmas cause.
@colestyle Feb 4th 5:30AM READ HERE
To summise: there's good moments with the plurality in PD but others that aren't to point of op skipping them; Dakota (played by Grizzly) made jokes that were especially bad; despite the plot relevance it's still irking, and it's upsetting how it just goes away by the end of S1.
@herethereverywhere Feb 4th 5:52 AM READ HERE
To summise: op watched PD aware of Vyncent being plural and anticipating it, only to be upset by stereotypes of people with dissociative disorders being reinforced, and psychotic disorders being casually demonized; expectations weren't high but still not met; op reasonably states, "i cant say that i trust this show with these topics going forward unless the boys demonstrate an sensitivity that i have thus far not been privy to".
General Comments
@swordswaltz Feb 4th 2:28AM READ HERE
Insight that I feel should be quoted in full based on my own agreement and consensus amongst other users too:
i might have missed something but i'm just so unsurprised by jrwi's (mainly grizz's) lack of response to the lizzie thing. charlie and bizly have both made apologies for things that i think were considerate and they actually changed, but i feel like grizz and condi just kind of don't learn. grizzly's conveniently timed deleting of his questions page just adds to the feeling like, to him, it's not about actually growing and more about avoiding "being cancelled" i could be wrong (i hope i'm wrong) but past actions and words are usually indicative of future actions and words. i've had this small, growing frustration with jrwi the past maybe four months which sucks because i love this show. i do. i just want them to Improve. i feel like there's a lot of talk of improving and not a lot of progress.
I have already gotten worn out so sorry I haven't included more, but if you have any other comments or relevant posts feel free to add on.

(sapphic lucemond) aemond takes luke w her to the gym or something, luke mostly just spends a solid hour like this watching aemond 🤯🤯😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Aemma never lets Luce catch her breath. Whether she's fucking Luce to her third orgasm of the night, or just standing still, so beautiful it makes Luce's chest hurt. She can hardly breathe.
She doesn't know why she expected Aemma would be any different in the gym. Usually, when Aemma invites her downstairs to their condo's workout studio, Luce rolls over in bed and pretends she didn't hear her ask.
That morning, she lifts her head and asks if Aemma would wait for her to get ready. Her smile alone is almost enough to make getting up early and exercising worth it. She likes early afternoon breakfast and after dinner walks for activity.
They get downstairs and are fortunately the only people there.
"I like to start with cardio." Aemma says. Luce likes cardio. Cardio is sex and jumping rope.
Aemma, apparently, doesn't like fun cardio. She starts them both on treadmills. Luce is out of breath after thirty seconds of sprinting on a speed that looks like a jog to Aemond.
"Fuck you." Luce pants. "And fuck your long legs."
Aemma laughs, not even breaking a sweat.
"Don't be a baby. You haven't set an incline yet." Aemma jokes. Luce blows a raspberry and immediately regrets using her extra air.
Aemma finally gives her mercy after a marathon. Dramaticized only the tiniest bit, Luce steps off the machine and lays on the ground.
"All done?" She asks.
"You wish." Aemma laughs because she's a gloating show off. At least she walks away with her back toward Luce. She deserves a little ass for her mocking.
Aemma takes them on an intensive workout. Each exercise hurts more than the last and she doesn't stop for a snack even once. Luce is huffing, puffing, red, beyond wet, and committed to never working out again when Aemma reminds her that she does this five days a week.
Luce's only consolation in feeling like a failure is the consummate magnetism that is Aemma's strength and competency. She adjusts Luce's form a few times and each time it feels like they're in the beginning of a porno.
"No. Like this." She breathes into Luce's ear at the rowing machine.
Luce shivers and turns her head back for a kiss. Aemma indulges her, wet and messy for only a second. Then, she finishes adjusting Luce and sits at the machine next to her.
It takes everything Luce has not to trap her on the machine, sit in her lap, and make her carry Luce up to bed. The rowing machine is the only one she almost keeps up with Aemma on. She imagines them in bed together, meeting Aemma's movements and matching her speed.
She feels the overexertion when she stands up. Her legs shake and Luce sits down to keep from embarrassing herself.
"I think I'm gonna sit this one out." Luce eyes the barbells Aemma sets up at their next activity. "I'll cheer you on, though."
"You better." Aemma winks.
Luce crawls to a better spot on the ground and barely blinks through all of Aemma's reps. She's been thrown around more than a few times by her girlfriend, but watching her squat her weight and Luce's together with only a few of the sexiest grunts she's ever heard, she has to lean back and give her lungs room to expand on her deep breaths.
"You're amazing." Luce breathes out as Aemma racks the weight.
"I know."
"Since you've got a big head about it. I take it back."
"Really?" Aemma leans her head back and squirts a long pull of water into her mouth. Watching her throat work, Luce thinks she might be the amazing one. It takes a person with amazing will power not to jump her right fucking there.
"Time to hit the shower?" Luce asks hopefully. Aemma raises an eyebrow.
"Done already?"
"I was done after the treadmill."
"I like to finish with more cardio."
Luce rolls her eyes. She'd haul Aemma out of there herself if she wasn't sure her girlfriend's sweaty arm would slip out of her grasp and give her enough reaction time to strap Luce back into the rowing machine or something equally horrific. She's done working out.
"There are other ways to do cardio." She ducks behind Aemma and puts both her hands on the small of her back and starts pushing her toward the exit.
"Like what?" Aemma laughs. Luce appreciates that she lets herself be pushed. If she fought back, she has no doubt she'd be flattened in a moment. She's seen it happen to Aegon and Jace in real time.
"I'll show you in the shower."
They don't even make it there. Aemma has Luce's heart racing and her leg over her shoulder before either of them are out of their sweat-wicking leggings.
Aemma never lets Luce catch her breath.

How did YOU get into 911ls rachel? 👀
if you could write one episode of season 5, what would it include? (back atcha)
what is your favorite cuisine and one food in that cuisine you hate; and what is your LEAST favorite cuisine and one food in that cuisine you LOVE
what's your favorite pastime/hobby outside of fandom? (back atcha)
what is your favorite season 👀 is it... winter... *shot*
more photos of cats please! 🥰
How did YOU get into 911ls rachel? 👀
okay so i started with OG 911, i watched from the very beginning when season one aired until season 5 and just became uninteresting (season 5 was... bad...) but rewatched spring 2023 because my sister wanted to watch it. and enjoyed it much more that time around. and then over the summer i was sick and couldnt leave my house for a week so i decided to watch lone star AND MY LIFE WAS FOREVER ALTERED. (i realize im a very late fan pls forgive me)
i was hesitant to watch lone star because some people in the OG 911 fandom are very mean towards this show and it's fans. (i've distanced myself from those people. i adore this show and have met the loveliest people on here because of this show.)
if you could write one episode of season 5, what would it include?
okay this is gonna be all over the place. marjan has a comphet realization and does some self discovery and we get some sapphic rep from her. not saying they have to make her have a girlfriend, but just some realization and being an openly queer, muslim, female firefighter in texas would be EVERYTHING to me.
nancy backstory. i've written a little about my thoughts on her backstory and want to write more. but i say she comes from a rich, influential family, but they're distant to her and put alot of pressure on her growing up and her sister is the only one she stays in contact with.
for tarlos. let them fuck nasty. (okay i realize we can't have that on network television).
realistics. carlos gets injured on the job or while trying to solve gabriel's murder and we get him in a coma in a hospital bed and tk is anxious and crying by his bedside (WE DESERVE IT. CARLOS HAS BEEN IN THAT SPOT TWICE. IT'S TK'S TURN)
what is your favorite cuisine and one food in that cuisine you hate; and what is your LEAST favorite cuisine and one food in that cuisine you LOVE
okay, so fair warning. white woman, who grew up in a small town, and still lives in that small town. and my mom was a terrible cook. im slowly trying to immerse myself in foods from other cultures now that im an adult. but there is not an option for restaurants of anything other than americanized chinese and theres no ethnic grocery options here either, so i try my best. and i feel like finding recipes is so hard. i never know what to look for as a beginner.
i really don't know if this counts as a cuisine, but my aunt always cooked Pennsylvania Dutch foods (which is kind of a derivative of german so that i guess?) but my least favorite of that would be scrapple or pickled beet eggs. both are 🤢
since that probably doesn't count, italian. i love chicken/eggplant parm or lemon risotto (im probably offending so many italians rn)
i can't say i have a least favorite cuisine? i'll say the one i've least delved into. i hope this doesn't upset you, but .... indian ... I KNOW IM SORRY. I REALLY WANT TO TRY MORE THO I NEED TO FIND SOME BEGINNER RECIPES TO TRY AND HOPE I CAN FIND THE INGREDIENTS HERE. but i do loveeeee chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. like the most basic answer. im so so sorry tessa. :(
what's your favorite pastime/hobby outside of fandom?
i love music and everything about it. i go with my sister to live events quite a bit. we love concerts but also going to sporting events. mostly football and baseball!
what is your favorite season 👀 is it... winter... *shot*
hahahah. fall! i miss real fall, like when i was younger. now it just goes from being super hot to cold. not much fall anymore. :( as much as i hate living in a rural area, its beautiful here in the fall <3
more photos of cats please! 🥰
okay it’s mostly pepper because she’s attached at my hip and puffy is more independent lol

i’ve said this before and i’ll keep saying it—the mass-cancellation of wlw IPs right now is the new bury your gays: a pattern that affects wlw disproportionately even to other lgbtq stories and emblematic of the underlying mentality that our stories are not important. that they can just be thrown away.
it’s the same feeling i had in spring of 2016. wary of getting too attached to any wlw characters or storylines because we’d been conditioned over and over again to expect it to end in heartbreak.
i don’t know if warrior nun is the lexa of canceled series but at some point something’s gotta give. i just cancelled my netflix subscription and gave warrior nun as my reason, and i suggest everyone that wants this to change does the same and instead spend that money on a vpn subscription and torrent anything you don’t want to miss out on. same goes for prime.
enough is enough. we deserve to have our stories told in full.
‼️‼️ no bc they saw the result of what bury the gays trope did. it made the whole gay movement in which we just flocked onto another show bc of the sapphic couple. they saw this and they used it to their fucking advantage bc now they know we would watch anything even with the most little screentime of our reps. they saw that we would support and give money/time to that type of media.
in turn they also noted that we would move onto the next show with the same rep after the current one is no longer producing content. so they did what greedy fuckers do and used it as an excuse to make wlw centered media - to then cancelling it - to then making another show with said rep.
they give these series a dollar and a cent for production and no promo and in return they get millions from it. its their best investment yet. bc now they can cancel it with little to no financial lost and start a new one knowing they will get double the money they initially put in.
they never cared about continuity or consistnecy with their shows when it comes to wlw representation. NEVER. the fate of those shows was decided the moment s1 gets released so they can move onto their bigger shows.
i fear we always stood on low chances bc this is just their strategy. to use people seeking for representation and reeling them in only to dispose of that representation so they can start over again.

It kinda pisses me off how everyone's talking about how this is "the golden age of queer reprsentation" or whatever, and everyone talks about how many queer shows, (and movies if you count Red white and royal blue) are popular right now. But it's only really mlm representation or mlm centric content. Like Heartstopper, Interview with a vampire, Our flag means death, Good Omens, and Young Royals are all mlm centric shows, and sapphic shows usually either get canceled or they never reach the kind of popularity. I think the only one I can think of is Arcane and I think that's because it's got so many other moving parts that are so fantastic snd interesting that even the straights love it. And Cait and Vi's relationship isn't really overt yet, so to speak.
And the thing is we all know why this is happening. We all know what this is about. Or at least I thought we did. But when you bring this up you often get people being like, "oh stop causing conflict between wlw and mlm!" Or "stop trying to pit queer people against each other!" Like.... no I'm not doing that, I'm pointing out that misogyny and lesbophobia exist.
Honestly I am literally begging queer men to care about sapphics for once. Like please acknowledge that misogyny exists and we are affected by it. Please acknowledge that the way we are percieved and treated is different from you because we experience the intersection of homophobia and misogyny.
Sorry for ranting. I'm just so tired.
Never apologize for ranting!
Well it’s undeniable that queer representation has gotten better over the years, we are nowhere near in the golden age of queer representation! Where are the lesbians, the trans/non-binary characters, the poly characters?
And yes we have shows like Yellowjackets and Arcane who have main character lesbian rep and haven’t been canceled and are quite popular, they still haven’t reached the levels of popularity of mlm shows.
I’m very happy for my mlm friends for finally getting the representation they deserve! I am only hoping that wlw can see that kind of representation for themselves.

Wednesday: What I'd like to see in S2 and the inevitable Wenclair disappointment.
With the announcement that Wednesday has been renewed, I thought about what I'd like to see in season two.
Prior to season two, get Jenna Ortega into the writers room. From everything I've seen and read, Jenna understands Wednesday much more than the writers do. She needs to be in the room so stupid situations like the love triangle, or Wednesday gushing over a dress will never happen again.
During season two, both Enid and Wednesday should come out. We all know Netflix loves to cancel shows that have sapphic girls as the main characters. However, if there's one show that can subvert the trend, it's this one. This show is insanely popular. Maybe it would lose some viewers if they came out, but surely not enough to have much of an impact. I'd also like to believe the majority of people would be fine with it. (Or maybe I give humanity to much credit).
In fact, given the times we live in, having Wednesday and Enid come out would be such a positive message for gay people, and may, in some small way, help other people become more tolerant. The whole point of the show is about being an outcast and how that's not a bad thing, so actually reflect this by making Wednesday and Enid gay, because we are actually treated like outcasts. Just imagine, for one second, a struggling queer kid finding the confidence to be themselves, because the iconic Wednesday Addams is gay.
Now, if the show runners, writers and executives absolutely refuse to have a queer Wednesday and/or Enid, at least have some significant queer representation. I'm sorry, but having minor characters be your only rep doesn't cut it nowadays. We deserve characters that actually matter. Eugene's moms being in two scenes isn't enough.
No romance for Wednesday, at least for season two. I think we should have a season where it's not on Wednesday's radar. Lets have one teenage character that isn't interested in romance, or being pursed by a love interest. I think that for season two, the focus should be on Wednesday's growing friendships with Bianca, Xavier, Ajax, Yoko and Divina. I would also love to see Eugene become even more of a surrogate Pugsley.
However, season two also needs to start pushing forward the romance that makes the most sense, Wenclair. I don't actually want, or expect, romantic Wenclair in season two, but season one established that these two girls are very important to each other, much more important than their male love interests (whether the writers intended it or not). So, season two should be about them growing closer. Have them spend more time together, have the bond they established in season one grow deeper. Have Wednesday become increasing more comfortable around Enid (which still maintaining her Wednesdayness). Have them end season two closer than ever. Then season three can be about them realising their feelings are changing and we can have fun, messy situations/interactions where they're both dealing with their newfound crushes.
Give Tyler and Xavier some much needed character development. Tyler got a tiny bit at the end of season one. However, for most of the season, 90% of their personality revolved around Wednesday. The other 10% was daddy issues. These are not interesting characters and given how prominent they are, they should not be this one dimensional. Have them interact with characters other than Wednesday. Give them some motivation that isn't wanting to date Wednesday Addams. Do something, anything, with them. Give poor Hunter and Percy something to do.
While proofreading this, I've been hit with the certainty that this is going to be one of those situations where two girls would be absolutely perfect for each other, but the writers decide they're just going to be friends. They could have all the chemistry in the world, all this unbridled electricity, obvious sapphic undertones to their relationship, have 90% of the fanbase (and the stars of the show) desperately wanting it, but it's all ignored because the writers have their own story and aren't good enough at their jobs to adapt, change and write the better, more obvious, clearly superior story.
It's especially crazy to me considering these aren't real people. Yes, Wednesday is an established character, but I'm pretty sure she's been too young in previous iterations to have a clearly defined sexuality. So, the writers could make them whatever they wanted. Wednesday is psychic now, Enid is a werewolf! But the two of them being gay is somehow a step too far.
This has the potential to be the best, most popular, sapphic ship I've ever seen. With a show this big, this kind of representation could literally be life changing for people. But I'm now starting to feel that this will be the biggest disappointment and missed opportunity. I really, really hope I'm wrong.

🦇 The Fiancée Farce Book Review 🦇
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
❝ She was a total fucking goner. Whatever magic Tansy was made of, Gemma wanted to drown in it, revel in the honeyed heat burning her up from the inside out. It was better than the finest bourbon she’d ever had the pleasure of sipping. ❞
❓ #QOTD What was the best sapphic novel you read this year (I need recs!!)? ❓
[ Find my review below or on Goodreads | Storygraph | Literal ]
🦇 After losing her parents and a traumatic romantic experience as a teen, Tansy Adams focuses all her time and energy on her late father's bookstore. To dodge questions about her love life, Tansy invents Gemma, a fake girlfriend inspired by the stunning cover model on a best-selling romance book. She never expected that real-life Gemma would step into her life, play along, and announce they were engaged, imploding that white lie into a full-on farce. Gemma van Dalen, the outcast of her wealthy family, needs a spouse to inherit Van Dalen Publishing; her grandmother's legacy. In exchange for Tansy's hand in marriage, Gemma offers to save Tansy's beloved bookstore before it's sold off. Can their marriage of convenience work, or will Gemma's scheming family get between them?
❝ "As for feeling like you’ve failed, well, failure is an inescapable part of life. But failing doesn’t make you a failure. And I’m sorry your father made you feel like the two were synonymous. You are more than your achievements, Gemma. You are brilliant, and ambitious, and you are good, do you hear me? And what you do or do not achieve in this life has no bearing on your value.” ❞
💜 Oh. My. Goddess. That's right: goddess, because that's exactly what these two cunning, sassy women are. Alexandria Bellefleur has taken the generally predictable "marriage of convenience" trope and turned it into an emotional, powerful story about finding the love you don't realize you deserve. Both Tansy and Gemma are full of so much pain, their family trees full of broken branches (and in Gemma's case, poisonous barbs). For them to find love and family in one another so unexpectedly (for them, at least, because, come on, that's what we're here for), so flawlessly...it's not only swoon-worthy and sweet, but a relief. It's the insane, instant, undeniable chemistry between Tansy and Gemma that empowers their every interaction from the start, but unlike other marriage-of-convenience stories, smut doesn't drive their relationship. What starts off as a business relationship blossoms from a friendship to a true partnership. Gemma is sweet and giving as she navigates her first real relationship, while Tansy comes out of her shell to defend Gemma when no one else has. These goddesses support one another, even when the relationship is only a farce, until it all becomes real. The character development between them both is a flawless example of how empowering love--and having someone by your side--can really be.
🦇 As much as I loved every interaction between Gemma and Tansy, it's difficult to love everything that happens outside of their sweet sapphic bubble. The toxic men--namely Tucker, Gemma's cousin, who manipulated teenage Tansy and shared underage nudes of her--seem unrealistically cruel. Tansy's step-mother goes from a social ladder-climbing step-Bridzilla to suddenly sympathetic. None of the secondary characters have real layers, making them no more than pawns to the story's plot progression. Because of that, none of the conflicts or twists are surprising. The boardroom scene/resolution seemed beyond unrealistic, regardless of how sweet the gesture was. You may need to expand your suspension of disbelief and focus on the sapphic sweetness for this one.
🦇 Recommended for fans of Stars Collide, Cleat Cute, and Love at First Set. This heartwarming sapphic romance is full of feels; a stunning addition to any shelf.

Ok guys, just finished watching Dragon Age Absolution and I present to you…my thoughts: (warning, mild spoilers down below)
Miriam is my baby and I love her and I would kill for her. She gets to have all the complexity I like in a character and she ACTUALLY gets to be angry and bitter without being demonized for it! YAAAS QUEEN, POP OFF! And YAY, SAPPHIC REP!
Cinnamon roll Qwydion must be protected at all costs and I desperately hope she gets a blanket and a nice boyfriend (or girlfriend) that deserves her, but she’s only shown interest in dudes so far so yeah.
Dragon Age, if y’all kill Roland I’m gonna fucking riot. He’s the gay uncle I always wanted (I had a bit of a crush on him until that bubble was popped…but oh well, you can’t have everything you want).
These writers are fucking TALENTED as hell, cuz Rezaren legit had me fooled the first couple of episodes. I’m over here thinking “oh, morally grey wizards, my fave kind.” But no.
The way Lacklond was pretending not to give a shit when he so CLEARLY gave a shit will never not be funny. Like sir, just admit you care why don’t you?

You know what’s an underrated LWA Brotp? Akko and Andrew. I mean, their dynamic is kind of interesting.
Oh, they are DEFINITELY underrated ! Honestly, I find it really disappointing how fandom in general, but especially whenever gay ships and rep are concerned, will fight any and every thing that they fear might "come between their ship" or "take the spotlight away" from the characters they feel deserve it more, regardless of the quality of the storytelling.
That's what, I'm afraid, led to Akko and Andrew's friendship being "demonised" by the fandom : the fans were so afraid that LWA would be one more anime where the main girl falls in love with a random hot guy instead of going along with the sapphic vibes she has with her narrative foil that they all dunked on Andrew like they never dunked on a character before. Even two eps before the finale they were still afraid there'd be a confession or kiss coming out of left field and I honestly didn't understand what this fear was about : we would have had hints of it way before that if the anime had been going for it ! It was irrational and only after the anime had ended did Andrew finally get some slack. Poor boy.
Sorry for the rant, your ask just reminded me of how much I appreciated their relationship in the show and disliked how antagonistic the fandom was toward Andrew for being "a threat to their ship" when he was just minding his own business and having a character arc of his own with the help of his friend, goddamnit.
But yeah, Andrew and Akko's friendship is one of my favourite relationships in the whole anime ! It's just really nice to see stuck-up Andrew learn to let loose thanks to Akko and look so much happier afterward, but also braver, more outspoken, especially against his dad and his school, just trying to do the right thing and make people happy like his friend taught him. And I think it's important for Akko too, to realise she managed to touch his heart, because touching people and making them happy and brave is basically the essence of her dream and what she wants to achieve as a witch. They both deserve the best.

Ok but maybe I'm just noticing this but notice how in first kill with wlw theres more of a chance youd get sex scenes happening and with mlm it's never there since straight girls like to fetishize mlm relationships but with wlw it's with some men sexualizing.... like bruh. I'm tired 💀I just wanna watch a fun cute vampire show w sapphics 😭😭 each show (heartstopper and first kill) both have amazing rep but like first kill getting cancelled is just so annoying to me 😭😭
its not always the case but more often than not, you're right anon and its honestly exhausting 💀 like yea, first kill didnt have stellar writing but it was such a breath of fresh air where the problem didnt revolve around their sexuality or whatever, they were just lesbians in love being sexy with each other along some angst in between and we deserved that 😭😭

My Hero Academia Pride Headcanons (Miscellaneous)
This list is for other characters that didn't fit into the other categories.
If you'd like to see the 1-A kids plus Shinsou, that post is here!!!
If you'd like to see some Pro Heroes, that post is linked here!!!
Finishing My Hero Academia off with some miscellaneous peeps. Which includes some of the villains and some of the kids from the other classes. I'm only going to talk about the ones I have personal investment in or ones that absolutely bear mentioning.
Disclaimer: These are my own thoughts and opinions. This is how I’m choosing to engage with this media in this post. There are other ways to engage with a chosen media and neither way of engagement invalidates the other. Art is subjective. Fandom is ultimately for fun! Don’t take me too seriously!
Now that introductions are out of the way, here we go!!!
Shimura Tenko | Shigaraki Tomura (he/him): Aromantic
He's never been romantically attracted to anyone. Doesn't really want to be, either. He's got better things to do anyway. Like destroying heroes.
Todoroki Touya | Dabi (he/him): Gay
He likes men. I don't think he thinks much about it. He just wants to take his abusive old man out in the most dramatic, theatrical way possible. If he catches a little bird on the way, that's simply a plus.
Toga Himiko (she/her): Bisexual
Actually Canon?? There seems to be some debate on this matter. Even though I think it's pretty cut-and-dry
I... don't particularly like Toga. I've just never vibed with her. And I do think her character leans a little too heavily into the depraved bisexual trope. But I understand her appeal and... it's representation right? Right??
Bubaigawara Jin | Twice (he/him): Pansexual
Gender isn't important in who he loves. And this man wants to be loved. Very badly. Give this man a hug now.
Magne (she/her): Trans
Actually Canon and deserved better.
Magne was not handled well. I don't think it was malicious on Horikoshi's part, based on his track record, but it is a problem with how rep is portrayed in media. I won't get into it too much. Glad she's here. There are still problems, but I don't think it was born out of hatred but more to just ignorance.
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu (he/him): Bisexual
He likes men, women, in-between and beyond. And he is very in love with Kendo. Everything she does makes him very happy. He is very whipped.
Kendo Itsuka (she/they): Bisexual
Tetstu and Kendo are that meme that's like "a totally hetero couple... unless?"
Kendo appreciates the feminine form as much as the masculine. An alternate pairing I really like is MomoKen, because... Sapphics!!!
Monoma Neito (he/him): Queer
Monoma is Not Straight! And he'd be offended if you thought he was. He didn't put that much effort into his mannerisms and his fit just to be mistaken for.... heterosexual (derogatory).
Hatsume Mei (she/her): Pan-Demi
Gender doesn't matter. What matters is the emotional connection between one-another....
oh and if you'll let her run some experiments on you and she'd really like if you tested out one of her babies, and it'll only hurt a little bit. At worst it'll feel like a mild heart-attack-
And here ends Boku No Hero Academia!!
I super enjoyed doing these and I hope you enjoyed reading them!!!
Next time: I take on a Colossal project.
