The first of the Hallowen fics I’ve written, inspired by @catdadeddie‘s moodboard here. I hope this is a fun kick-off to the spooky season... this ended up having a very mythological/fairytale feel to it and I hope that’s fun for everyone.

oops I forgot to mention that uhh the new wand is done!! it’s been finished for a while tbh, I just procrastinated on gluing it all back together and taking a semi-decent pic. there’s only a couple key changes I made - re-doing it so it has the zig-zag bend ofc and coating the copper base part so it doesn’t tarnish and stays shiny :)

anyway THIS is as close to canon as I can make it!! I’m glad it’s done and I’m very proud of it but also I am never doing this again lol

not sure if i ever spoke of fnaf here, but i am following the franchise still, cus im too deep in the sauce to quit...

ive been really irritated by the new dlc coming out. i wanted to turn my brain off, but there was too much nonsense in contrast to sense, that it pissed me off. didnt expect the story to have such a first-draft feeling to it...

mainly, wth was up with circus animal merch a few months back? those characters didnt appear anywhere in the game, why was there merch of them then? did i hallucinate them or something?

#for all the funny people in the audience - the story of fnaf is already sheer nonsense; yes #the new stuff however is more nonsensical #they tried to present some sort of mystery without letting people on some basic worldbuilding #whats the point of a mystery; if i dont even understand how they built a building on top of another building #who fucking does this? and now the dlc also has a fucking cave system before the entrance to the underground building?? #a fucking cave system with fucking waterfalls and fucking glowing green mushrooms? #which appeared there ONLY a year after the above-ground building collapsed on itself? #these games have no concern for anyone's sanity #and to top it off - the ending sequence is trite to begin with #we are going back to that stupid ass underground pizzeria again. like we did in the main game... its so uninteresting #at least make your Bull Shid exciting and new.

you know, it really IS something that after moving out of my old mold-infested apartment... my mental health VASTLY improved.

what was essentially a low level psychosis is just... 90% gone. resolved! no longer an issue!

#it did also really help that in a last ditch effort to try to treat my gi stuff #my old doc prescribed me an anti-fungal/anti-mold medication #was on that for a few months right around when i moved #and while it didn't help my guts much because it wasn't treating the right issue #it was exactly the mold purge my body needed #and while the... increased sanity... does mean i have been very disconnected from my witchy practice for quite some time now #it's definitely for the better. because i'm not feeling so unsafe that i'm looking to things i don't even fully believe exist to help me #i was SO convinced that apartment was frequently haunted #and i am SO terrified of ghosts #i don't WANT to believe in them but i feel i have to in order to protect myself from them #but that said i don't feel afraid in this apartment like i did in my old one #and when i first toured this place... i immediately felt safe here. i felt it welcome me #it was the only place i saw. only place worth seeing. #and i've been here almost a hear already #i love this apartment so much #personal

ok just had my dr appt and am feeling a lot better.

we’re going to increase my dosage of the meds + do a diagnostic test on friday to see if my fallopian tubes are blocked (and i guess the test itself can improve conception rates after because of the type of dye they use?). the cost of the test is within the range i felt i could afford so that’s good too. most importantly she was really reassuring about the “if you have 3 failed cycles IUI won’t work for you” advice that is allllll over the internet. her take is that the research focuses mostly on heterosexual couples who likely had difficulties conceiving naturally for a year or more before seeking fertility care... meaning they’ve typically gone through 15-16 unsuccessful cycles (12 of trying to conceive naturally + 3-4 with IUI). in that case there’s likely some other reason things aren’t working and so it makes sense, timing wise and financially, to move on to the highest-tech option (ie IVF). but for single women and/or lesbians who are trying to conceive, those 3-4 IUI cycles are their first and only attempts. and if the medical history looks good and the person is responding well to the medication, then it might just be a timing and luck thing. so she says if everything looks good on the test we’re doing friday, she recommends that i try six cycles before we reassess. and if i can balance the costs and don’t want to do IVF, she says there’s no reason why i couldn’t follow the regular guidance for couples trying non-medicated cycles ie a full year of trying (although at that point i might decide the financial / emotional cost isn’t worth it).

Quite a few people liked my Adult Ghost/ Shade Lord mortal form so here's some flats and some ref sketches I made for myself. I also need to give Hollow and Hornet new designs, but at least the growth chart is done.

Some Extra notes under the cut

After Absorbing the radiance, poor Ghost had a lot of soul and their body started growing pretty quick as a response. While it wasn't over night, it only took maybe 6 months for them to molt into adult form. The change had other consequences with mobility as they had to get used to getting taller and taller and the perks and drawbacks of that.

Ghost's Adult outfit is a travel outfit and is a mix of preference and need. The back is open to allow the void tendrils to freely be used without damaging the fabric, and the cape opens up for the same reason. Hornet and Ghost designed the outfit together once they were sure that Ghost was finally done growing and had a handle of how their body reacted to things. The other outfits were a mix of friends and travellers trying to find comfortable wear for the rapidly growing Ghost.

They will go full Shade Lord if under enough duress, both physical and emotional. They have to summon the void and their dead siblings out of the abyss in order to get the size and full power, but they still pack a punch by themselves.

They grew heels because they wanted to be as tall as Hollow. They almost made it, lol.

Some notes for their growth First Major molt: addition of proper hands and fingers, and is definitely welcomed. Horns are thicker, more resembling their two siblings now. They're just a bit shorter than Hornet. Second Major Molt: Taller now, and their horns start to take a more unique shape. The heels also start to form Third Major Molt: Their least favourite as they just just constantly growing and it was suffering.tm. The feet are curling up, the second set of horns are growing, they literally have growing pains. This one was Pain.tm Final Major Molt: Sweet relief as they finally get to their adult form and stay there. (There is a secret molt, and that's eventually they will get butterfly wings!)

#rat rambles #starve posting #I didn't change it too drastically but I did change the lunar and shadow aligned skills a bit and replaced certain skills #for the alignment stuff I decided that if burnie gets to be a planar entity so does abby cause fuck you #also because I think thats not too game breaking for her either due to her much lower health #I also gave the twins some soul link shit so now when wendy is below half health abby will take 50% of damage given to wendy for him #I think its fair game given that willow gets spells lol #I also decided to go fuck it and slap a abby gets to have 3 elixir effects at once skill on the elixir branch #I also decided that fuck it the previous skill is double length of effect now instead of 50% longer #the sisturn branch remains fairly untouched but the alignment based sisturn skills have actual concepts now 👍 #I also decided itd be fun to add some actual wendy skills but specifically for sanity aura related stuff #its his token 'not rly worth it most of the time but it's an option you could take advantage of' skills lol #basically I have 4 skills abt different types of sanity auras with the simplest just being stopping night sanity drain #the other 3 are creature auras landmark auras and equiptable auras #notice how I say sanity aura and not sanity drain. this is where I tap into kind of risky territory but also kind of cool territory #basically my thought is that these would be situational admittedly but also rly powerful sanity control tools #basically making it so youre theoretically in near complete control of wendy's sanity levels at any given time #I say theoretically and near because theres still a lot of sanity effecting things that arent auras or nighttime #I also think it's the best compromise Im willing to make with making a wendy skilltree that has actual wendy centric skills on it lol
