New Year Countdown: Dec 6
CRAP, I forgot to post this yesterday!!! And I was particularly excited about this one because it's a Sandbridge callback! (I randomly rolled "Restaurant AU" and couldn't not do it!)
If you haven't read the Sandbridge AU before, first of all, I'm not sure why you even follow me. And second of all, you probably do need to know before clicking through that Tony and Bucky have 2 daughters in that series, Billie and Livvy.
Dec 6 - Winteriron - Restaurant AU - Sleigh
Bucky was whistling “Jingle Bells” under his breath as he turned his truck into Dockside’s parking lot. Christmas was just around the corner, Billie was home from school on holiday break, Dockside was enjoying a brief surge of business as local families decided it was easier to eat out than cook for their holiday visitors, and he’d actually managed to finish all his holiday shopping before the mad rush of Christmas Eve, for a change.
He looked around to make sure neither his husband nor his daughters were immediately present, then unlocked the toolbox on the side of his truck and pulled out his last few packages, bustling them into the garage before anyone could appear. Even Livvy knew that he hid everything in there, under the old stack of inflatable pools that probably didn’t fully inflate anymore, but none of them would peek.
“Papa!” Speaking of the devil... Bucky ducked out of the garage before Livvy made her way around the corner of the building.
“Hi there, Briar Rose,” he said, reaching out to ruffle the preteen’s hair. “What’s cookin’?”
“Uncle Steve is,” she said, grinning, but grabbed his arm and pulled. “Come on, down to the beach!”
Bucky followed along gamely, though he’d need to get into the kitchen to help with prep soon. “Why? What’s going on?”
Livvy giggled and let go, running ahead of him.
As soon as Bucky cleared the corner, he saw what Livvy was so wound up about. Tied up at the dock that gave the restaurant its name was a smallish motorboat. That by itself was not too unusual, though this particular dock wasn’t really the ideal location for it, being more of a pier for fishing than a true dock.
But someone -- and Bucky was laying money on his husband -- had somehow decked the boat out to look like Santa’s sleigh, the side panels situated so the “runners” of the sleigh skimmed just about at water level. It was an elaborate illusion, including dozens if not hundreds of lights and a platform above the motor that was piled high with what Bucky fervently hoped were fake presents, lest any of them topple overboard. A couple of the presents featured Dockside’s logo prominently; Bucky suspected that Steve had helped with that paint job. Billie and Nat were in the boat with Tony, helping with something, while Livvy danced excitedly at the end of the dock.
Laughing, Bucky ambled down the beach and out onto the dock, arriving at the end just as Tony clambered up the rope ladder that was hung there. Bucky reached down to help Tony up and pulled him into a kiss that they might have prolonged somewhat just because Livvy was clearly so impatient for them to stop.
“So this is your top-secret project,” Bucky said when he finally had to take a breath. “Santa’s going by water this year?”
“Not a lot of chimneys in Sandbridge,” Tony pointed out, his eyes sparkling. “But lots of boat slips.”
“There’s a parade!” Livvy announced. “On the 23rd! We’re definitely going to win!”
Bucky raised his eyebrows as he helped Nat and then Billie up onto the dock. “A parade?”
“Yes,” Nat said firmly. “We may not win, but I think we will make a good showing.”
“It’s a nice sleigh,” Bucky agreed, eyeing the boat. “But I reckon I might miss the reindeer.”
Nat traded grins with Billie.
“A water sleigh doesn’t need flying reindeer, Uncle Bucky,” Billie said. “It needs flying fish.”
“That’s what all the presents on the back are for,” Tony put in. “After we get our fish attached to the front, we’ll add ballast to the presents to counterbalance them. Thank god the parade won’t go at more than five knots the whole way, or our whole boat would probably sink.”
“Send me the details on this parade,” Bucky told them as they headed back up the dock toward the beach. “I’ll get Victoria to sub for me so I can come watch and cheer you on.”
“Great!” Billie enthused. “That means I can ride with the boat instead of staying on shore with the bug.”
Livvy pushed her way between Bucky and Tony, “And then we can all go out for ice cream after!”
“This is required,” Nat announced before Bucky could respond. “If we win, we must have ice cream to celebrate. And if we do not win, then ice cream shall console us.”
Bucky laughed and put his arms around Billie and Livvy, tucking one hand into Tony’s back pocket for good measure. “It’s a date.”

Meet the Fiance
During their reunion, Tony takes the opportunity to introduce Bucky (his fiance) to Jan.
Inspired by tisfan and 27dragons’ Nights in Sandbridge series. Bucky is wearing the same weird tux/suit outfit that Tony is, but is sporting slicked back hair and feeling like a fish out of water. I don’t think he knows how to handle Jan’s exuberance.

any winteriron blogs you'd recommend? kinda new to the ship 👀 thanks!
absolutely!! i can’t promise that all of these blogs are exclusively winteriron, but most of them are my go-tos for buckytony stuff!!
writing:
@riotfalling:  Riot does all of it, crack, fluff, angst, and has some of the most delicious nsfk stuff (her kinktober last year is actually how we met). She’s currently doing a buckytony bdsm series with @therollingstonys (Stella)
@anthonyed: Ana’s stuff is the stuff of legends. she does both drabbles and longer, bigger fics and both of them are so brilliant. ive been in love with her work since forever
@imposter-human: absolute gem to the mcu fandom, and particularly to the buckytony fandom - brooklyn churns out fics faster than anyone ive ever seen. she could single-handedly run the content for the fandom and we’d never run out. i think she’s got upwards of 100 fics on her ao3?? which should tell you just how much she writes
@wintersoldierland: Kat is currently on a hiatus (she’s on a sabbatical in the witcher fandom) but she has the most delightful stuff
@iam93percentstardust: Alle is possibly one of my favourite people in the whole world, and only a small portion of that is how talented she is. all of her fics deserve an incredible amount of love
@kimannhart: one stop shop for your buckytony needs. absolutely amazing and i love Jo endlessly
@hddnone: i dare you to find a fic by OP that’s bad. its just not possible
@deathsweetqueen: Simi has a special place in my heart because she writes Indian Tony, and all of her fics are so rich. they’re beautiful, and all completely binge-worthy
art:
@monobuu: OP has this adorable style that always makes me 🥰 because they capture Tony’s bambi eyes so perfectly
@anthon-e: OP is largely stevetony but they have some amazing buckytony pieces (one of which i commissioned so check it out)
@beir: if OP’s art doesn’t make you feel warm and fuzzy inside i have no idea what will
@catalus208: i only very recently discovered OP but they have some very cute pieces!!
@gayspacesprinkles: absolutely adorable style. i love everything OP comes up with
@seijishun: OP currently has a dancer series going on that is the sole provider of my serotonin
also, im going to drop in a couple of names of people who i think are fandom staples!!
@27dragons and @tisfan: both authors have separate works, but they tend to collaborate together a lot on a whole plethora of buckytony fics (the Nights in Sandbridge series is the stuff of myth and legend. its a fandom staple.
@hawkbucks: some of the most well thought and detailed AUs ive ever read in my life, and also does art occasionally!!
@aurumacadicus: OP writes for a whole plethora of fics, and is a very good place to go for rarepairs - but also has some amazing buckytony stuff!! (im partial to Yield, but there’s a whole bunch)
@lovelyirony: Jess also dabbles in a lot of rarepairs, but her buckytony stuff is the *chef’s kisses*
@NaturoRox: i have to be very honest, i don’t actually know if OP is still in the fandom, but they have the most amazing fics
@not-close-to-straight: a fandom great. ‘nuff said
@rayshippouuchiha: i think it might be illegal to mention buckytony without mentioning the absolute queen herself
and if you’ll indulge me for a second, im going to rec my absolute favourite buckytony series of all time (that i am still hoping will one day be updated because its just so beautiful)
We’ll Meet Again (Some Sunny Day): @tangodancer91 (four part series)
Stranded in the past, Toni Stark builds herself a new life, far from superheroes and corporate expectations
those are all my recs!! welcome to the buckytony fandom, we’re not extremely large but there’s a lot of us to go around so this is by no means an exhaustive list. i hope you enjoy your time!!

winteriron slow burn pleaseeee?
Thats the good sh*t :)
buckytony:
Meet Me Again, Time After Time  verse - 54k - favorite buckytony fic ever
The meetings between Tony and The Soldier throughout their lives.
REBIRTH SERIES - 300k
If you think of life and death on a continuum, finding the point where it tips is complicated. It cuts across all political lines and gets to the root of our humanity. It requires faith informed by years of intimacy that you’re doing what’s right for your loved one.
But Tony is just a man. And there’s only so much he can do.
(Or that time when Tony does what is necessary to survive just so that he can continue to fix things and makes extremely rash decisions; because even if Steve may have left him behind, doesn’t mean Tony would do the same. Kind of.)
Such Sweet Revenge - 167k
When the Rogues are back in the States after being pardoned, the New Avengers want nothing to do with them and as far as Tony is concerned, if he never speaks to them again, it’ll be too soon. After all, he didn’t spend the last year putting himself (and his family) back together only for his former co-workers to ruin all of his hard work.
But then he gets a hand-written letter from the Winter Soldier himself, apologizing for the events that transpired and an off-handed comment from Rhodey about Rogers failing to take care of an obviously miserable Bucky Barnes sets in motion Tony’s new, oh-so-evil plan to get some payback.
After all, what better revenge than to steal the Winter Soldier away from his best friend?
The only problem: Tony sucks at being vengeful, but apparently he’s an expert at inadvertently falling in love.
Fractures (Filled With Liquid Gold) - 63k
Ultron happened. The Avengers left.
Tony is fine with being alone again. He always worked better as a Lone Wolf than a team player anyway. He’s not sleeping or eating or resting or… living, but it’s fine. It’s good. It’s okay.
And then there’s James.
Illuminate Me verse - 136k
Tony isn’t a healthy man. He’s fine with that, really. It makes perfect sense. Unfortunately, he has a job to do that kind of has his health as a major requirement. So he unmakes himself, remakes the Accords, protects every single child super that enters his field of view, and hopes ferociously that the Avengers never come back to the US. He doesn’t spend any time at all rebuilding Bucky Barnes’ life. Not a single second. Anything he does that contributes to him is simply an accident.
Bucky is a patient man. It’s ok if Tony wants to ignore him for now. He won’t be able to forever.
(Somewhere in the world, a sense of dread crawls up the back of Tony’s spine)
Nights in Sandbridge verse - 576k - never read but ive heard good things
Tony dropped out of college to get away from his abusive father. When his longtime boyfriend reveals similar tendencies, Tony refuses to endure another moment of it, running away with nothing more than the cash in his pockets. He makes it to Virginia, where he’s taken in by Bucky, a restaurant owner looking for an extra hand who’s willing to be paid cash under the table.
Bucky’s been struggling for years: to keep the beachside restaurant he inherited from his parents above water (both financially and literally); to live down the fact that he’s gay in a small southern town; to get over the man who’s owned his heart since he was fourteen. But he’s never had to struggle as hard as he is now, to keep his hands off Tony.
Tech Support - 31k - c ute
When Tony decides to personally answer tech support queries to find ways to improve the next Stark Phone, the last thing he expects is to grow weirdly attached to one of the callers. The man is clearly not accustomed to modern technology, but his determination to get better is both admirable and adorable, and Tony can’t help prolonging their conversations. Before he knows it, they’re exchanging numbers.
Talking to James — be it over texts or the phone — soon becomes the highlight of Tony’s day and he might just be falling in love, though he tries his best to deny it. He knows nothing can happen — not while James thinks Tony is just some random tech guy at Stark Industries rather than the man who owns the entire company. And, as if that wasn’t enough, there’s also Iron Man and the Avengers to consider. Tony would have to reveal everything before a relationship with James would be possible, but he’s not sure how to do that without also risk scaring him away.
It therefore comes as quite a surprise when Tony finds out that James has been keeping similar secrets of his own
Scars - 26k
When Tony tried to urge the homeless guy sleeping on the steps of the Tower’s loading dock to move, he never expected that he’d found Hydra’s pet assassin—James “Bucky” Barnes.
Now, after months of keeping his presence a secret from the Avengers and helping Barnes learn to cope with both his returning memories and the modern world, Hydra is back for their favorite toy and Tony must call in old friends to save the life of the man he just might have come to care for a little too much.

Top 10 Books of 2018
Been watching too many book recommendation videos on Youtube so I couldn't resist listing out 10 of my favorite reads of 2018! I organized them by genre, but are otherwise in no particular order. The titles are links that go to book page on goodreads.
Fantasy
A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab
This book got me hooked on all things Victora Schwab writes. It's the first in the series, but can be read as a stand alone (basically, doesn't end on a cliff hanger). Kell & Delilah are wonderfully written characters, where Kell can traverse across the different parallel Londons (grey - nonmagical, aka our world ; red - magical, white - magical & decaying, black - already lost) while Delilah is non-magical trying to find adventure in her own dream to become a modern-day pirate (of sorts). Great adventure for all involved!
The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty
World-building. Just, wow. You start in the 18th century Cairo and follow along with Nahri as she discovers that true magic does exist - it's not just tricks she uses to con people, not when she accidentally summons an ancient djinn warrior. They travel to the legendary city of brass, where there's a ton of schemes and politics and agendas at play. There's so much depth in the details, with complex characters that I loved and hated in equal measure. Looking forward to the sequel!
Spinning Silver by Noami Novik
A re-telling of Rumpelstiltskin but also it's soooo much more than that. So much more. There's 3 female characters that you follow (one poor, one middle class, one rich) who each have their own stories, and how everything comes together is fantastic. Super fun read!
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
On my list to re-read so I can catch up on the series! Re-telling of the Russian fairy tale of the Winter King. It's such poetic writing, I can barely handle how pretty it is. There's so much added to the fairy tale to build up the world, and it's simply fantastic. Beautiful and soft, but also meant to be read in the winter because it makes me feel so cold.
This Savage Song & Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab (YA)
Two books in the same series, which is a touch cheating but I'm totally counting it as one. I love this series because it's so clever. Here, monsters are born out of violence and have overtaken the city - that doesn't mean that humans agree on how to handle the monsters, though, and so there is the North side run by a mobster and the South run more para-military style. How the style of monster fits the crimes that create them, how humans handle their disagreements even with a common enemy - I just love this set up and Schwab's handling of it. The characters are fantastic, too, and I just love everything about this.
Scythe by Neal Shusterman (YA)
This is a world where humans have solved all the world's problems : poverty, disease, aging, etc. To prevent overpopulation from people living forever, there are Scythes - people whose job it is to decide who dies, and then kill them. You follow 2 teenagers chosen to be Scythe apprentices, as they learn about the power (and isolation) that comes with the job -- and what happens when people let their power get out of control.
Contemporary
Nights in Sandbridge by Elizabeth Brooks & Lynn Townsend
Andy is running from an abusive ex and needs a job that won't ask questions, while Scooter is just trying to keep his beach-side restaurant afloat and needs a dishwasher who doesn't mind getting paid under the table. They also need each other a WHOLE LOT MORE THAN THAT as they eventually discover. Seriously fucking good romance (and queer!!). Everything I could ever want out of a southern beach-side romance. (p.s. probably won't find physical copies in bookstores so here's a helpful link)
The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan
A mobile library in the English country-side with a recently unemployed librarian who just wants to recommend the perfect next book to patrons. It's cute, it's happy, it's full of books. Did love!
In Dog We Trust by Beth Kendrick
It's the fifth book in the series but can be read stand alone (I didn't know it was part of a series when I picked it up!). Lots of dogs & doggy moments, a well-done poke at the divide between the rich who have summer homes and the locals who try to survive, and a touch of the enemy to lovers trope. Quick & fun read!
Thriller / Mystery
The Lies We Told by Camilla Way
How this story came together, from the past!events and present!events and how the stories & people crossed paths... it kept the pages turning. I have a hard time describing it without giving it away, so I won't but. Loved the twists, the characters felt real, I definitely enjoyed the journey!

Why the decision to have Alexander Pierce as an abusive lover for Bucky instead of say Brock or an OC? Just curious on your thought process.
To be fair, Brock is also one of Bucky's ex-lovers in the Sandbridge series, and also treated Bucky very poorly there (I forgot to mention him in the previous response post, sorry). But Bucky was never really in love with Brock the way he was in love with (or thought he was in love with) Pierce.
Tisfan and I swapped around canon villains a lot, slotting them into our various AUs wherever they seemed to fit, pulling from both MCU and comics canon. I'm honestly not sure we ever used an OC for a villain, except in the "nameless minion of Hydra/AIM/Other Evil Organization" kind of way. Pierce does turn up in our stuff quite a lot, mostly because he was so beautifully evil in CA:TWS. Also because Bucky doesn't actually have a lot of his own canon villains; he mostly ends up just helping fight someone else's main villains. (As @monobuu says, Pierce fucked Bucky mentally in MCU canon; we just added dicks, lol.)
And also, to be quite honest, because when tisfan and I were growing up, Robert Redford (the actor who plays Pierce) was The Hotness.
Pierce was good for Sandbridge because (in MCU canon) he's older than Bucky, and he's in a position of political and social power, and we wanted to examine that situation, where the abuse is less outright violence and more gaslighting and (nonconsensual) power and control. Which makes it much harder for Bucky to recognize as abuse.
There's a fair amount of abuse in Sandbridge (most of it in the past or offscreen) and part of the story is the characters learning to recognize and cope with and heal from their various traumas. (I could go into the full list but I'm sure I'd forget something.)
If you want to talk about it more, I'd be more than happy for you to hit me up in messages. It might be easier with actual back-and-forth.

Any kidfic recs where they have a lil kid but not a teenager? 🥰 Love ya!
Definitely! Kidfics tend to be very hit or miss for me since child development can be very hard to get right but the ones that I do like, i tend to positively love and frequently reread
You didn’t specify a ship so I went with Stevetony, Winteriron, and Stuckony, but I’ve separated them by ship so you can easily pick and choose which ones you want to read:
Stevetony
Of Strippers and Snow Shovels by @betheflame
Tony has some questions about what Peter's dad does for a living after Peter draws an ... interesting picture about why his dad is his hero.
Practically Perfect in Every Way by @betheflame and @hogwartstoalexandria
Tony Stark is a lot of things - billionaire, former playboy, professional philanthropist - but a few years back he added two more titles: widower and single father. As Peter keeps growing, Tony can't seem to keep a nanny. Thankfully, his employee James Barnes has a solution.
Art therapist Steve Rogers is really tired of living grant cycle to grant cycle, but is wary when he gets an opportunity from his best friend's boss to be his child's live-in caregiver. He hates Bucky's boss. But then he meets the kid and then he gets to know Tony and then...
And then they all live happily ever after.
Rockabye by @bladeofthenebula27
Cute alphas didn’t appear out of nowhere to help ruined omegas. That was a widely accepted fact.
Tony Stark had always known his life wouldn’t be easy as a genius omega in an alpha’s world. But not even he predicted getting knocked up and forced to move to a small town in the middle of nowhere.
Some things can’t be hidden by @s-horne
“What?” Peter sat up in the booth, suddenly alert. “Dad, what is it?” He followed Tony’s eyes right to a man in the doorway of the restaurant. A big, blond and young man that even Peter could admit was attractive.
“Is that him?” Peter asked. “He’s young.”
“He’s 32,” Tony argued, though he was still pale and didn’t shift his gaze.
“Have you actually seen proof of age? Because he looks young, Dad. Like not that much older than my age. Have you checked his ID? There are some good fakes out there, just warning you.”
“Will you be quiet?” Tony hissed, lifting his hand and waving to the man. “He is perfectly legal, thank you very much.”
Peter watched as the guy lit up as soon as he noticed Tony, awkwardly dodging the lunchtime crowds as he tried to make his way over to their table.
“Hi,” he said when he reached them, a beaming smile on his face. He made a motion to kiss Tony before his eyes flickered to Peter and he changed his course, pressing his lips to Tony’s cheek instead and stepping away quickly.
Adventures in Babysitting by @s-horne
Bucky babysits Peter for the first time on his own. There are cuddly toys, tears, cupcakes, and bedtime stories.
It Takes a Village (or a team of superheroes) by aven_garde
Three months after the Chitauri attack, Tony received a phone call that changed his life. (Or, the one in which a group of remarkable people come together and balance battling villains and raising a child).
In Trouble Deep by @festiveferret and @sirsapling
"Whoever did this has a reason, and Stark needs to be with someone who can protect him. He won’t exactly be able to protect himself like this.” Fury looked at the baby consideringly. “No, it’s you, Steve. Besides, he likes you. Suck it up, soldier, you’re stuck with him.”
Tony, Please by @festiveferret
Steve is doing just fine nursing a painful crush on his most captivating client. That is, until his babysitter has an emergency and drops Steve's six-year-old daughter off at his work. Somehow, everything goes off the rails.
like-like by nanasekei
Morgan doesn’t really know Captain America.
And honorable mention cause even though it’s just a pregnancy fic right now, I’m holding out hope for a sequel with a baby:
Baby’s Breath by @s-horne
Wow. Tony’s mind went blank when his eyes moved involuntarily and focused in on where Nurse Rogers was pointing something out on the computer screen. It was nothing, really. It was a blob roughly the size of a jelly bean. The picture wasn’t even clear. It was black and white and so ridiculously grainy that Tony couldn’t see clearly.
Oh. Actually, the reason he couldn’t see clearly was because of the tears in his eyes.
“Wow,” he said, voice breaking on the short words. “That’s…”
“Your baby. Right here.”
Tony fell silent again, just taking it all in. That was his baby. His child. A whole little person living inside of him, ready to grow and stretch and make his body do all kinds of weird things. Nine months of his baby inside of him and then eighteen years of them living in Tony’s house.
Somehow, it already didn’t seem like long enough. Seeing it on a screen wasn’t enough either. Tony wanted to reach out, to trace the tiny image with his fingers and try and feel what little extra he couldn’t inside of him.
After a long moment, he licked his lips. Shit. He was having a baby.
“Steve would love this,” he breathed out.
Winteriron
High Noon in Sandbridge (part of the Nights in Sandbridge series and does rely on some of the other works in the series, so make sure you read those first if you haven’t already) by @tisfan and @27dragons
Life is pretty good for Bucky and Tony these days. The restaurant is doing well, and they’re happy with their little family. Then Bucky’s sister meets an untimely end and Bucky and Tony are suddenly guardians to a niece they’ve only met a handful of times. Their attempts to make a home for the bereaved child are complicated by Tony's mother, Bucky’s ex-lover, and the man who claims to be Billie’s father. But whatever her parentage, Billie is a Barnes through and through -- stubborn and hot-tempered and not remotely interested in making a life in the one place that her mother had sworn never to return. Will she ever learn to call Dockside and Sandbridge home?
Place in Your Heart by potrix
They try to hide it, Bucky can see the effort they all put into making him more comfortable, but Bucky isn’t stupid, he knows they’d rather have him somewhere else, somewhere far away from their home, the place where they’re supposed to feel happy and safe.
The Long Way Round by potrix
“Maybe we shouldn’t see each other anymore,” Tony blurts out in a rush. “It’s—I think it’s for the best. If we stop.”
It takes a moment for the meaning of the words to register, but when it does, Bucky turns cold, stomach sinking. “Are—are you breakin’ up with me? Tony—”
“You didn’t do anything wrong,” Tony hurries to reassure, reading Bucky’s mind. “You were perfect, Bucky, I swear you were. Are. This. It’s not. It’s really not you,” he says with a small, humourless chuckle, “it’s me.”
Bucky looks at the tense line of Tony’s shoulders, at the sad set of his mouth, the defeat in his eyes, and he knows it’s the truth. Or, at least, what Tony believes to be true.
Or; sometimes, people mean well, but that doesn't always mean they know best. Bucky and Tony, unfortunately, have to learn that the hard way.

‘Til the End of the Line by Avengers_Whore
“Steeeeeve!”
“There’s the lil devil now,” Bucky murmured fondly. “Lemme see ‘im.”
Steve laughed and nodded his head, walking out of the kitchen and heading towards the bedroom. He opened the door and sighed when their omega was nowhere in sight on the bed. He made his way towards their closet and opened the door, pointing his phone at the brunet curled up in all of the clothes.
Fennel Root & Super Soldiers by @betheflame
Peter hasn't stopped crying for weeks and Tony is nearly at his whit's end. Thankfully, Steve and Bucky have a plan.

Reunion
Tony and Jan reuniting after years apart. These good friends would never forget one another.
Inspired by tisfan and 27dragons’ Nights in Sandbridge series. I have no talent in fashion, so Tony has a weird mix of a tux/suit, but I still like how it came out. Jan’s dress is meant to look rather floral with petaled skirt, plus ribbons to add a more feminine look (not that she needs it).
Ink on printer paper. Line art.

Kind of.)
Nights in Sandbridge verse - 576k
The Joys of Step-Parenting verse - 148k - meh
Steve’s life is going fantastic; he’s got the best friend a guy could ask for, his art is better than ever, and every night he gets pounded into a very lush mattress by the richest man in the world. However, good is only good for so long. When Howard’s teenage son Tony comes to stay the summer after graduating from MIT, Steve’s suddenly thrust into the role of step-father to a boy who can’t even spend 10 minutes in his own father’s presence without screaming profanities. It’s now his job to make father and son get along again. When did his life become a Hallmark movie?
stevetonybucky:
The Path Beneath Your Feet - 44k - god I LOVE. ending is a little bit open.
A Star fell, and in its wake, Soulmarks appeared.Smaller than a person’s palm, centered over their sternum, and a greater risk than when the Stars gave mankind Guilt, the Marks were to be Humanity’s eternal guides. The gift gave the Stars a way to direct their children. The Stars would watch, and wait to see what a person needed in their life. They waited to see what would bring them the greatest joy, then they could give them a token to find that path and keep them true.***All three share a Mark.
But Steve and Bucky have each other.
And Tony has Iron Man.
HOLLOWNESS - 63k
It feels like a hollowness, when Tony first realizes. First sees. And the first thought, the first thought his useless, traitorous, genius brain can come up with was “At least this time when he leaves, it wasn’t your fault.”
Carrier - 48k - meh kinda boring
Tony swept his gaze over the jacket. It was well used, heavily worn down, but not in a bad way. The fabric felt softened over years of use, and the slight discolorations seemed to suit it. Tony could see the marks left over from the previous owners. A small patch, sewn perfectly in neat little stiches on the inside breast pocket screamed of Steve’s steady hands, while the fraying on tails remained as evidence of Bucky’s impatient tugging.
Or, Steve and Bucky gift Tony with their jacket that survived from the 1940’s.
Turns out that wasn’t the only thing that survived.
