Why the Bridgers(Rebles) were less then perfect parents.

After watching Ahsoka, I was reminded of this post I never finished.

I do not respect these two, for one main reason. Ezra was never they're priority.

The Bridgers didn't get much screen time but what we learn them about them is that they

Had a secret radio station in their basement form which they would spread Reble messages.

Were Ezra's parents.

Would eventually get arrested before Ezra hit double digits.

Lead a jail break, refused to leave until everyone else did, leading to their deaths.

Let's start at the beginning, the Bridger's Rebellion. Being a Reble is good, but my problem is that they were participating in Reble activity when they had a VERY young son. These two were fully aware of the consequences if they got caught and what that would mean for their son, but they chose to literally bring the Reble fight into their home.

Well, maybe they knew Ezra was force sensitive, so they were trying to protect him?

There is a chance they knew or suspected their child was force sensitive but that makes being a Reble even worse! What did they think would happen when if they got arrested? The Empire gets another force sensitive with no home to return to. If they were aware of Ezra' force sensitivity the best option would for them to help Ezra hide it and not draw attention to themselves.

Don't get me started on the jail break! So, the Bridgers hear that their son by the grace of God avoided to be taken by the Empire and is now a Reble (They have no clue where or what he was up too for the past 7 years) which inspires them to lead a prison break. But in an act of selflessness, they make sure everyone gets out before them, which leads to their deaths. The Bridgers, even though they know they have a son waiting for them, a son who they last saw when he was seven chose to put everyone else above themselves.

This is selfness to the detriment of their son. They know Ezra is still alive, still waiting and still out their but they put the rebellion and everyone else before him.

TL:DR For all of Rebels the Bridgers never put Ezra first, they never put their family first. They sacrificed themselves for what they believed but that also meant constantly screwing over their son at every turn.

They were good people but people who should have never had a child because they would never prioritize that child.

Don’t lose hope, dear Sabezraites. They didn’t cast an actor as gorgeous as Eman Esfandi and then have the audience accept that Ezra and Sabine are like brother and sister. The deceptive Cowboy Hat Man whose name we do not speak is the father of lies, or at least of narrative misdirection.

Keep the faith, and don’t stop shipping Sabezra. I have shown you The Way you must believe. Do you still have faith?

Man Ahsoka was amazing. It felt like Star Wars. I was so happy to see my blorbos back on screen 😭

Hera and Chopper were perfect. Their banter is so on brand. Wish we got Jacen but I know he's coming.

SABINE WREN! NLB killed it as Sabine. Her entrance was *chef's kiss*. The loth-cat 🥺 JabbaSkrunkles my beloved (iykyk). Girl is pinning hardcore.

Ok yes I did not like the 'sister' line but hear me out. The way he says it and his actions are strange, like he doesn't believe what he is saying. He kinda laighs at the end and so does Sabine, because it was clear from episode 1 that he has a crush on her. My theory is that he says that to protect Sabine's feelings because he doesn't know when/if he's coming back or he truly doesn't think she reciprocates those feelings. Based on the tower of pinning, clothes in his favorite colors, dedication to his home, and dreams/nightmares about him I would say she definitely feels more than just friendship. She's dedicated a decade to him just saying

Ok the lightsaber fight with Shin, intense. We know Sabine can fight with a lightsaber but I think she is fighting with her emotions. That droid took the one lead she had on Ezra and destroyed her notes on it. That would make me mad. Also she goes straight for the lightsaber instead of her blasters, and that was before she knew she would be fighting someone with a lightsaber.

Huyang, I love you. His banter with Sabine killed me.

I think based on the conversation Sabine and Huyang have at the hospital it's safe to say that the odds of Sabine being Force sensitive are low.

The mural scene 😭😭😭 the way Sabine strokes Ezra's face, I died.

The music was stellar. I cried hearing all the familiar music from Rebels. The end credits are gorgeous. Sabine's theme/suite/catharsis is one of my favorite scores and I am so happy to hear it.

Overall I loved these episodes and I am anxiously waiting for next week.

Imma get serious heat for this, but at the same time, I'm about to make a point that'll make others even more heated.

Found families are a magnificent trope, when you gather a group of strangers together and live with one another as a family. But the problem with that is claims of absurd bs like incest.

If the papers haven't been made, let others ship characters of a reasonable age gap who are part of said family, but DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE GO OUT AND DECLARE IT INCEST!!

Me and my buddies are trying to have fun with the Ahsoka series cuz we're also massive Sabezra shippers, but if y'all are one of those people who wants to claim certain characters as incestuous, you've got a fucked up mindset and in desperate need of a reality check.
