Just friends: stray kids smau.
Get to know the characters/story set up.
pairing: lee minho x f!reader - roommate!skz.
genre: fluff, angst, smau, (maybe smut in the future idk yet, may have written parts as well) roommates au.
notes/set up: boys are non idols, but some still do music/dance + other jobs. they all live together in a big ass house that's owned by richboy!felix's family. chan, minho, changbin, and y/n were college friends. chan and felix are cousins. felix, hyunjin, han, seungmin, and innie were college friends. literally all college dropouts which is what they all bonded over. ended up living together by association basically. chan, bin, and han are still 3racha, and are known, just not famous.
↓about them↓
chan: nicknames- channie, dad, pops, paparacha, sometimes gets called chris but usually only when someone's mad/serious. producer for social media musicians/small time musicians, and 3racha. almost always at the studio. group dad. supportive, sweet, helpful, responsible, overworker, protective, peace keeper. loves his friends more than anything, also loves music, romcoms, running/jogging, working out with changbin. well off but not super rich.
minho: nicknames- min, catboy, grumpy, twinkle toes, dancing queen, loverboy, hoe. choreographer/dance instructor. cold on the outside, squishy in the middle. doesn't express his feelings well, but tends to be softer around y/n. loves cats, movie nights, night walks/drives, and true crime podcasts. social weed smoker and drinker. hardworker, sarcastic, flirty, funny, makes inappropriate jokes. he likes to pretend he doesn't care, but secretly does.
changbin: nicknames- binnie, bin, binbo, crybaby, muscle man, beefcake. personal trainer, duh. loud. straight up himbo. his appearance scares people but he's protective, kind, caring, and will cry at cute things/when he's happy. absolutely loves cute things, y/n's cooking, cheesy TV dramas, rapping, working out, and affection. all around soft boy until you piss him off.
hyunjin: nicknames- hyune, hyunnie bun, jinnie, gorgeous, rapunzel, punzie, bob ross. he's rich. also sells his art. sarcastic, blunt, artistic, boujie, addicted to shopping. also likes to pretend he doesn't care, but probably cares too much. loves painting, drawing, and being lazy with his friends. a little in love with felix, no one can tell if he's serious or not. will absolutely start painting on the walls, floors, or ceilings just because he can. everyone loves it though.
jisung: nicknames- hanji, ji, hannie, babygirl, smokeshow, bud, han yolo. does random odd jobs and makes a suspicious amount of money from it + sometimes streams with felix. stoner, great friend, supportive, anxious, hyper, has mad adhd, loves anime, rapping, and sweets. he's a little weird but in a good and cute way. loves sharing his weed with his friends. also loud.
felix: nicknames- lixie, lix, pixie, sunshine, golden boy, richy rich, brownie boy, angel. also just rich, part time streamer. literally sunshine ofc. social butterfly. always trying to drag y/n or one of the boys somewhere. sweet, generous, kind, happy, excitable, loves cute things, baking, video games, and also anime. him and ji bond over it.
seungmin: nicknames- seungminnie, minnie, puppy, bitch, dickhead, devil. luxury dog walker (started his own dog walking business). sarcastic, sometimes rude, easily annoyed, but overall a great friend. likes dogs more than people. protective af but tries to hide it. will 100% shut off his rude and sarcastic comments if his friends really need him. loves pranks, coffee, singing, writing, and scary movies.
jeongin: nicknames- innie, in, babyboy, coffee boy, bigmouth. barista at a fancy coffee shop. wants to make his own money and not live off of his wealthy parents. sweet, kind, generous, can be sarcastic when he wants to be. loves animals, coffee, video games, asmr, and singing. can't keep a secret to save his life. plays innocent but is definitely not. once smoked weed and and cried because he couldn't remember how to make a latte. never smoked again. he's the only one of the boys who calls y/n noona.
y/n: nicknames- bug, bubs, princess, tiny, sweetheart, pretty, feisty, attitude, noona. has lots of secrets and trauma. no one knows what she does for work. she refuses to tell the boys and any time they have tried to find out she catches on and puts a stop to it. they just know she's getting paid well. sweet, kind, funny, people pleaser, messy. has an attitude sometimes and can hold a grudge. when in a fight or flight situation it's 50/50. she'll either punch you in the face or run so far her legs turn to jelly. acts confident and bold: isn't. just a great actress. gets sad often but pretends she's not. loves cooking, ghibli movies, plants/flowers, cuddling, fire, and her friends. hates her family. smokes with ji a lot but is a social drinker. she grew up really poor so she tends to get anxious about spending money/people spending money on her. 100% gets princess treatment regardless.

Random Hatchetfield headcanons in no particular order.
In honor of Cinderella's Castle being fully funded, have my silly little thoughts about Hatchetfield and it's residents (A few of these I yoinked from Tumblr so they're mine now :3)
Richie and Pete are both autistic. Grace is too but she has lower functioning autism.
Pete’s special interest is horror movies/special effects. Grace and Richie's special interests are…pretty obvious. But Richie also loves Godzilla and Grace loves the supernatural.
Jon Matteson said that Paul might be autistic, so I take that as canon. On top of that he has undiagnosed depression and anxiety.
Paul has two siblings. One being Gary, his little brother. And his older sister, who he lives with, who is actually Richie's mother. Richie's father died when he was very young so Paul stepped up to help his sister and nephew financially, and he’s the closest thing Richie has to a father figure.
For someone who used to tell Gary and his sister that he'd never have kids, Paul adores Richie and tries his absolute best to be the father he never had.
Boy Jerry is Paul and Gary’s cousin.
Ruth and Richie probably met when they were really young & both were lonely & in need of a friend. Like walking up on the playground “you wanna be friends?” “Yeah!” type of deal.
Paul and Charlotte were friends in middle school-high school.
Gary decorates his house like a suburban white mom, those rustic white letters in the kitchen, everything labeled in slightly stretched text, that type of thing.
In the proshot for NPMD, Ms. Chasity uses the correct pronouns for Ziggy. So I headcanon that The Chasity family, despite being hardcore christians, respect the LGBTQ community.
The most lethal weapon in all of Hatchetfield is Grace Chasity’s puppy dog eyes.
Charlotte’s sweater was a birthday gift from Ted. He made her swear not to tell anyone it came from him. He has a reputation, y’know?
Paul uses his phone like a grandma, he puts on the glasses to read and everything.
Gary knows how to play the piano.
Ted loves Steph and treats her like his sister. He's so proud of Peter for not only pulling one of the most popular girls in school, but that same girl is helping him with his self image and confidence.
Charlotte does yarn crafts (like knitting and crochet and cross stitch and shit) to get her anger out because stabby stabby.
Barry Swift is fully, completely, absolutely, 100% gay and in denial about it. Also he and Gary are childhood friends (to feed the Attorney in a hurry fans).
The people who went to Sycamore are, in no particular order; Paul Matthews, Charlotte Sweetly, Sam Sweetly, Gary Goldstein, Barry Swift, Karen & Mark Chasity, Dan Reynolds, Nora Beanie, and Melissa Nolastname.
Grace is the type of girl who says she hates drama and gossip but she knows all the drama at Hatchetfield High.
Like Paul, Gary is also autistic.
Paul drives Richie, Steph, Pete, Grace and Ruth everywhere. Paul likes all of Richie's friends even if they're a little weird (he finds Grace a little obnoxious though but he's not gonna say it)
Steph says Paul’s aesthetic is “Cardboardcore”
Pete is just the most attentive and perceptive partner ever. In every sense of the words. He picks up on every little detail. Steph had a bad day? Pete instantly knows how to cheer her up. Steph is excited about something and needs to talk about it? Hey babe what’s up tell me all about it. Pete’s the type to start keeping snacks on hand because he knows Steph’s internal clock and that she always forgets to eat and then gets hangry after a few hours.
When Stephanie is exhausted she literally makes no sense, she babbles the most nonsensical bullshit.
Barry Swift has ADHD and OCD.
Gary wears those blue pinstripe pajamas. With the lil hat too.
Paul has the most unorganized and dirty room for some reason, like he never even bothered decorating it.
Sam and Charlotte were high school sweethearts and kinda rushed into marriage soon after graduating.
Gary wanted to buy a Wiggly doll for Richie.
Steph’s ripped jeans had small holes in them when she bought them and her dad made fun of her for buying something already broken so she made the holes bigger out of spite.
Grace has asked Steph, Pete, Richie and Ruth at least 3 times if they would still love her if she was a worm.
Gary unironically refers to Facebook as "the book of faces”

Can you do 2023-2024 bill Kaulitz with thirteen year old daughter reader with ADHD headcannons and has similar personality to Rory keaner from Mbav and Richie Tozier from IT 2017 and she's very very sassy and hyper and can roast people + humbles people like how north west does to Kim K + how the uncles (Tom,Georg and Gustav) would react to her
ᡣ𐭩 bill w teen daughter p2
headcannons down below!
bill might have to keep a leash on you at all times when the two of you are going out because you can’t ever seem to stay in one place at a time
“y/n, what do you think of— Y/N!?”
found you looking at fucking trinkets. more importantly, MARBLES.
you always keep your dad in check, but he will sass you right back
“baby what do you think of the blonde?” “i think you look ugly.” “well you look like your OTHER father/mother, HIDEOUS.” “hey, you choose them, not me” “…”
literally has to bribe you to do anything for him, even if it involves your own benefit.
“y/n, can you get me my wallet i’m ordering take-out” “nuh-uh” “y/n, my wallet.” “make me.” “honey, i’m literally feeding you. “food!?”
you constantly make fun of bill, but when push comes to shove you will stand up for him if necessary.
you and uncle georg are quite literally neck and neck with each other.
“y/n, you stink, go take a shower,” “i bet your mom doesn’t think so uncle georg!!!”
with uncle tom, it’s even worse.
“y/n, can you tell uncle tom which one will look better, the blue blouse or the black blazer?” “either one will make you look fucking hideous” “y/n!! language!!” “sorry dad..”
you made tom cry btw
you and uncle gustav are chill. tom and georg don’t understand, bill doesn’t either. but you and gustav have this connection.
“what’s up y/n!” “hi uncle gustav” “i don’t know how he’s doing that..” tom scoffs, “it’s definitely voodoo magic, has to be,” georg ponders what a cornball
bill cannot put you to bed, so he just puts up with it.
let it be pillow fights, movie marathons, and food feasting, you name it.
you’re pretty open with bill when it comes to the concepts of relationships. although you may be young, he doesn’t stop you from experience life as it is.
when you spot someone of interest, it is your immediate and number one goal to make them yours.
“dad, i can’t go inside.. it’s filled with weir—” target spotted. “i want that one.” “but baby you don’t even know their na—” “i don’t give a SHIT dad i want that one.”
he got distracted for a second and lost you, again.

my #autism has led me to listen to about 1000 different podcasts + read alongs of IT and one thing thats always weird to me is how a lot of people don’t understand what makes richie a loser. there’s always a big discussion of like ‘lol wearing glasses does not make a person oppressed this is poorly written’ and how everyone else has a defining loser characteristic while he doesn’t
like did we not all instantly read him as neurodivergent then. im not even saying that in a headcanony way i truly always thought that’s what king was intentionally doing with his character? so many ways he describes his richie-isms are just word for word adhd symptoms and he goes into a fuck ton of detail on how that socially outcasts him. obviously everyone has their own interpretation but the fun of richies character is you’re meant to dig into his layers and that’s a big one imo and idk it just IRKS ME!!!!

Author's Note: This didn't take as long as I thought it would. I'm not completely happy with how this one ended up, but here you go. Also, so I messed up a bit and can't find the original ask, and I can't remember who sent it, but here you go. Thank you for the request. I hope you like it
Masterlist
Prompt List
--------------‐-----------------------------
Tumblr media
Colby's always been the baby of the family. So when his parents decided to adopt a 13 year old girl, he wasn't sure how to feel about it.
But as soon as he met her, he knew she was going to bring a lot of energy and sass into their lives.
The girl's name was Y/N, and she was half South African and half Brazilian. She had tan skin, curly dark hair, and big brown eyes that were always filled with mischief.
Colby (and later his ftiends too) was very interested in learning about her heritage and all of the different traditions that went with it.
Y/N had been diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, and it was clear that she had a similar personality to both Rory Keaner from 'My Babysitter's a Vampire' and Richie Tozier from 'IT 2017'. She was sassy, hyper, and had a knack for roasting people with her quick wit. She was also quick to put you in your place if you were being stupid or mean.
She often used this to defend her new big brother from people who tried to bully him.
Y/N was fearless and brave, never afraid to speak her mind or try new things. And she was also incredibly fast. Whenever Colby tried to catch her when she ran away, she would sprint faster than a cheetah, always managing to stay one step ahead of him.
Once she started going on adventures with him and Sam he had to chase her down alot...
But despite her wild and energetic nature, Y/N had a kind heart and always humbled people with her words, just like North West does to her famous mother, Kim Kardashian.
Colby's friends were apprehensive about her at first, not really sure what to make of her.
Sam, I feel, would be the first to warm up to her. Also, he likes the fact that she causes Colby almost the same amount of chaos as what Colby causes him...
I feel like Jake would get along the best with her when he's warmed up to her. The reason for this is I think their hyper energies would just compliment one another, and they'd love paying pranks on each other and the others... Mostly Colby...
Tara loves her, too. She likes how honest and witty she is.
Johnnie gets along with Jake so I'm sure he'd get along with her as well.
Corey likes to play pranks on everyone with her. She comes up with the BEST prank ideas. She's also a pretty good dancer, so he likes to dance with her.
Brennen gets along with her. He thinks she can be a little childish sometimes, but hey, she's 13.
All in all they were all eventually rather taken with her. They loved her sassy attitude and her fearless nature. They were also impressed by her ability to stay calm and chill, even when someone was yelling at her for doing something mischievous.
Colby says he sometimes thinks that they like her better than they like him.
One day, Colby and Sam decided to go to a haunted house and take Y/N with them as well as taking a few other friends. Y/N, of course, was ecstatic about the idea and couldn't wait to explore the spooky place. As they walked through the dark corridors, their friends dared Y/N to do something embarrassing. Without hesitation, she accepted the challenge and did it with confidence and sass.
Colby and his friends couldn't help but laugh at Y/N's fearlessness and her ability to always stay true to herself. They admired her for being unapologetically herself and never letting anyone dull her shine.
Y/N had quickly become a beloved member of their group, and they couldn't imagine their lives without her.
As for Colby, he was grateful to have Y/N as his adopted sister. She had brought a whole new level of fun and excitement into his life, and he couldn't wait to see what adventures they would embark on together in the future.
Y/N was not only his sister but also his best friend, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

i made a silly little family tree that im gonna go more in detail with
Tumblr media
ok so paul and gary 100% brothers
paul is the reserved older one while gary is the more successful annoying younger brother
paul is obsessed with christmad but hates all the musical commercials that come with it
paul also hates that gary watched musicals just to spite him
paul has 2 Christmas trees, one that is plastic inside that he wraps lights around and one tiny little one, think of that charlie brown tree, thats outside and he just sets ornaments next to it because they won't fit on the tree
he has a million inflatable decorations
paul is also richie's legal guardian
gary 100% constantly calls paul bothering him about little things
gary also watched richie a lot whenever paul stayed after work
he is the only attorney in the town and has to run across the courtroom and argue against himself(i stole this from someone else but forgot who)
he loves musicals, he first started watching them in spite of paul but then he grew the love them, his favorite is phantom of the oprah
jerry is a distant cousin to gary and is hated by almost everyone in their family
jerry metions abstinence constantly during family gatherings and everyone is sick of it
jerry also bothers paul wheneve he finally introduces emma to his family about how important it is to be celibate
richie is paul's nephew
richie only realized that gary was his uncle whenever he turned 16 and asked why gary was at every family event
he thought that gary was just a weird friend paul had
he is close to both gary and stopwatch
stopwatch is his cousin on his mom's side
stopwatch liked to hang around a lot before he went into the fighting ring
richie started missing stopwatch and tried to get into contact with him but couldn't for months
when the ring finally shut down stopwatch finally called richie back and they became best friends again(if no one died)
(if richie died) stopwatch would try to get into contact with richie but couldn't and he finally asked paul about it and found out that richie died and he stayed stuck inside for a while not feeling motivated to do anything
richie would try to hide the bullying that he endured from paul but paul found out and comforted richie the best he could by showing that he went through the same thing
richie and paul are autistic while gary has ADHD and they all infodump to each other constantly
when gary found out that richie was getting bullied he tried to use legal action but richie stopped him
also gary and ruth immediately clicked whenever they met each other and are very chaotic friends (both tease the shit out of richie)
this turned into headcanons very fast but oh well

richie getting diagnosed with ADHD (or hyperkinetic disorder or ADD or whatever you get the point) as a child but since doctors are... doctors... no one really ever explains it to him and he spends his entire childhood thinking he has the "loud annoying disorder" instead of actually understanding what ADHD is and why it makes him feel/act the way he does...
richie thinking ADHD is something you grow out of and as a result of that + losing his memories of having friends he was comfortable unmasking around, beginning to mask heavily as an adult to fit in with his peers... only showing his ADHD traits in small, palatable pieces for the sake of a self deprecating joke....
richie always feeling like theres something crawling under his skin and letting out the energy in harmful ways because the alternative is any number of heavily stigmatized behaviours he's only seen in gags on TV and he's already dragging under the weight of what people will think of him if they find out he's gay, he doesn't need anything else for them to pick at
richie forcing eye contact until he feels like his insides are going to become his outsides, richie in the beginning going out to open mics every night to try to make it even though he feels like he's going to melt out of his skin if he has to mask for another minute. richie's throat blocking up when he's anxious and him losing the ability to say anything other than canned jokes he's been doing since he was 13.
richie getting mike's call and experiencing a sudden and intense skill regression as a result of his returning memories, suddenly finding himself completely unable to deal with things he "dealt with" (not really) before, richie finding he can't bring himself to look his friends in the eye even though he's been forcing eye contact for years, richie bouncing his knee so hard he shakes the table, richie finding himself unable to get out of bed after the jade because he's so drained socially (+ the other stuff lol), richie stimming vocally while they're looking for the clubhouse and freaking out over it and looking at all his friends for their reaction.
he doesn't know why he's acting this way, why he suddenly can't just suck it up and deal with it like he's been doing for nearly 3 decades, and he's already freaked out enough as is with the clown, and he wants the losers to like him as an adult so bad, why is he being weird, and he's so overwhelmed by everything and he has absolutely no means of dealing with it because he's been pushing everything down for his entire life and can't even name what he's feeling.
post it 2 richie going to therapy to try and deal with the clown trauma and coming out of it with a new understanding of what ADHD is... post it 2 richie learning to be easy on himself when he's overwhelmed. richie unlearning all of the stigma thats followed him his entire life and learning to be okay with himself...
oh btw eddie is also in therapy and his therapist suggests he get screened for ADHD. to no ones surprise he does in fact have ADHD. despite richie having been diagnosed with ADHD decades ago it is very much a simultaneous learning process for them. they're like reading articles about ADHD on the computer together like "hrmmm... OH that makes so much sense" they find out about common experiences for people with ADHD and text the other like "lol this you?"

This is Stan's list of ratings on who's the best Loser to go birdwatching with
Ben: 8/10 a safe bet. Pros: Is always quiet and tries to be attentive when Stan points birds out Cons: He honestly gets bored quickly out there and is too nice to say anything about it. Stan knows this and usually doesn't bring him bc he knows Ben wouldn't say no if he offered
Bill: 6/10 it's a mix bag Pros: Bill will always doodle the birds Stan points out and it's just sweet- Stan has a whole collection of them Cons: while Bill can be quite once they get there but Bill is an absolute clutz and makes a complete racket as they walk so when they finally find a spot, most of the birds are scared off. Also he whisper yells.
Richie: 3/10 but ironically still not the worst Pros: He can sometimes make funny puns with the bird names Stan tells him...that's about it Cons: Silence makes Richie nervous so he feels the need to fill it and sitting still for too long makes him jittery. Overall it's just bad for his adhd and for Stan's patience
Mike: 9/10 but still not the best Pros: He's quiet and always brings a homemade picnic! He listens nicely to Stan and asks questions about the birds, make Stan's interest in them feel validated. Mike is also just an animal lover so he's genuinely interested in what Stan has to say about them Cons: There's not much except for the fact he can sometimes get too excited and ask too many questions, and talking too much can scare the birds away
Eddie: 0/10 never again Pros: HA yeah right Cons: Eddie hates birds, he thinks they're germ filled things and he has no problem telling Stan this. He brought Eddie once with him and that was enough to never do it again. He loves Eddie, he does, but he'd rather not hear about how many diseases the birds are carrying half yelled into his ear in that frenzy way Eddie can only talk in
Bev: 10/10 she is an absolute angel Pros: She likes to curl around Stan and honestly just takes a nap as once they get settled somewhere most of the time, her head laying in his lap or on his shoulder. It's such a quiet and tender time in the early mornings that Bev doesn't often get but she feels at peace when she does with Stan. And Stan? He just honestly enjoys having a thing that's just his and Bev's, it brings them closer together Cons: Not really a con but she isn't a morning person so that's why she sleeps a lot, especially if they're under a sunny spot
Fun Fact, Bev and Stan's rating is based on a scene from this fanfic by the @the-angry-pixie

I just finished watching NPMD for the first time, what are some of your favorite headcanons/theories?
OHHHHHH THIS ONES HARD
ok story strap in. im. im normal about them. i have more somewhere probably i just dont know where
- richie is (was?) hoh. deaf in his right ear. i have no basis for this but i saw someone use it once and i fell in love like nobodies business
- grace, pete and richie are all autistic. grace doesnt know it, richie was diagnosed young, pete gor peer reviewed
- adhd steph my love <33 the spotify line? are you kidding? im right
- ruth wouldve smoked weed had she lived long enough. she told me herself
- max's dad gives him beer and such for parties. something about having a social life
- max is not in love with grace, and he doesnt even really have a crush on her. its the thrill of the chase, nothing else.
- max has gotten really, really good at lying to himself
- im pretty sure that ted is gone. time bastard timeline, i think. sometimes pete gets stopped on the street by the homeless man, who begs him to listen. this is scary, hence richies "he gets pretty scary sometimes." line
- had it not been for shapiro, the hfpd totally wouldve opened an investigation on clivesdale
- im a "they gave up more than they think they did" truther tbh. im pretty sure that had grace not participated in the deal (her virginity to max) she would never have gone on her rampage, it wouldve been whichever half of lautski lived
- the nerd trio met in tap class. my reasoning? 2/3 of them make references to dance/tap and richie gets shoved into that also
- at least one of max's posse + stacy and brenda is trans. who? i dont know and i dont care but one of them is. probably kyle. maybe stacy. one of them. max is actually completely normal about this (as normal as he can be anyway. hes max)
- pete has a lot of allergies. food, environmental, medical, you name it, he probably has it. for this reason hes a vegitarian
- grace had never had short hair before junior year. she came to school with like a foot and a half cut off and people genuinely didnt recognize her. she prefers it short
- the "i am jägerman, i am god!!!" line was special to him getting with grace. it was the final bang of his career, in his mind. hes normally pretty quiet during sex and the like
ok some of these are crazy wild out there but i dont even care anymore. you asked :]

Peter headcanons! Not sorted!
Grief/denial cw. NSSI (not suicidal self injury mention.) needle mention
- Was a “gifted kid” who’s parents expected too much and said backhanded things. “That B+ is nice but you could get an A next time, couldn’t you.”
- He is trans and binds all day. Ted lectures him on that.
- was diagnosed as autistic and with adhd at 12 years old
- when Richie and Ruth died he still had the habit of telling ted he was going to hang out with them.
Pete: “I’m going to Ruth’s for a movie night. I’ll be back by 8:30.”
Ted: “Pete, you know Ruth’s gone. You’re going to Steph’s, right?”
Pete: “…Yeah. Force of habit.”
- Peter has BIIIGGG stims. (Flapping hands, kicking legs, throwing hands out, etc.)
- Bites hands HARD when understimulated. Pulls hair when overstimulated.
- Never had been a picky eater
- sucks at chess
- Resting nervous face
- gets carsick
- the kid who was allergic to everything
- also the kid who threw up on the carpet in the middle of class
- asexual!!! (Demons told me)
- hums to avoid passing out when getting shots
- tries to forget about the jagerman incident until Richie and Ruth’s funerals. Couldn’t forget anything. Cried like a baby, understandably
- saves up those stamp cards for a free drink for beanies.
- met the obnoxious teen getting tickets for a Star Wars movie.
- unironically reads newspaper (likes the comics in the back like Dennis the menace or Garfield.)
- photographic memory
- never wears glasses unless out of the house
- ted was only polite to Pete if it was serious.
- Peter only spoke up about Ted’s teasing when Richie died. Pete was aggressive about it “Why the hell cant you leave me alone for five minutes? I’m asking for one fucking thing.” Something to that effect
- ugly crier. Snot dripping, that sharp squeaky inhale, red puffy eyes you get the gist.

Jared Kleinman for the character ask :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First impression
He was actually way meaner than I expected tbh. The glimpses I'd gotten of him through whatever fandom posts made it onto my dash in 2017 made me expect more of that "He's an asshole, but he's our asshole 💖" character type a la Richie Tozier (a perception not helped by knowing that the novel used almost that exact phrasing for him) , but Jared is genuinely such a jerk in his first few scenes that it took me a bit to click with him.
Impression now
Babygirl. Birthday boy. Blorbo from my shows. Poor little meow meow. Microwave brain fork. Gay wrongs. Wow that's so sad Alexa play No Children by The Mountain Goats. He's my Weird Barbie. He's my gender. He's my inner child. I would hate him if I knew him in real life. His last name means "short man" and that is literally another way of saying "little guy."
Favorite moment
And you SAY WHAT YOU NEED TO SAY. And you PLAY WHO YOU NEED TO PLAY. And if somebody's IN YOUR WAY, CRUSH them and LEAVE them BEHIND. Well, I GUESS if I'm NOT OF USE. Go ahead, you can CUT ME LOOSE. Go ahead now, I WON'T MIND.
Idea for a story
IDK if I'll ever write it, but I do have an outline for a banger fic that I nicknamed the Abortion Road Trip AU.
Unpopular opinion
He actually did touch a boob at camp and he cried about it for 20 minutes after it happened
Favorite relationship
C'mon.
Favorite headcanon
He's in love with Evan. He's trans. He has ADHD. He's a film bro.

Opinions about the movie it: Specifically, about Richie and Eddie and their whole deal. and How they defeat Pennywise the first time.
Also have you read the book?
SPOILERS AHEAD, in can you could not have guessed.
Okay so IT. IT is one of my top 3 movies of all time (if not all time) in which I watched it about 5 times in a week when I first got into it. (I also have not read the book yet but I have been planning on it for a while, just need to get my hands on it.) I really enjoyed it personally, and I don't think it is that scary anymore, but I was originally scared shitless the first time I tried to watch it years ago when I was not into horror yet. Even though it was made in 2017, it still has that 80s horror feel to it that I love, and I love the dynamic between the group of 7 in the first movie.
Now buckle up, because I am about to go full on special interest on this ask and yap about its inherent queerness and how it affects the story line and how it could've been used more.
Richie, Eddie, and the inherent queerness between the two. It was very clear that Richie, if not Eddie as well, were very much implied to be interested in each other.
But more specifically Richie. I honestly wish they did more with them, but it was very clear that they were a duo; a pair within the original group of 4. Putting it out now: I have not actually seen IT Chapter 2 all the way through as I kept crying over Stanley's death, and I honestly was extremely disappointed in how they handled the film as a whole, and the decline in quality. So, my information may not be entirely correct, but in the end of IT chapter 2, we see a clip of Richie carving he and Eddie's initials into the bridge. As well as I believe when Eddie dies later in the film, Richie tries to go back to get his body/doesn't want to leave him behind. Richie was obviously head over heels for him from the start to finish, and you could tell. From the constant bickering; teasing; borderline obsession that he had for Eddie. In the book, I believe Richie would also call Eddie "Eddie Spaghetti" multiple times, don't quote me though. All of this to say, Richie loved Eddie. A LOT. To the point that in the second movie Richie was out as gay but STILL hadn't found a lover, whilst we see both Stanley, Bill, and Eddie married, as well with Beverly with a boyfriend (in the beginning of the film, at least). I am not saying that some of these relationships are healthy by any means (especially Eddie's which I will explain soon), but it goes to show that many of the people from the core 7 found relationships, and yet Richie did not.
Now Eddie is slightly more complicated, as all throughout IT we see the toxic relationship between his mother, and how she gaslit him into believing he was sick all the time. This would then later end up with him marrying someone else very similar to his mother who treated him very much the same. Then, at the end where he ends up dying, it ends very tragically where his whole life he had to live with people being very controlling over him and him never getting to experience that freedom he deserved. I bring this up because in IT, we see near the end where Eddie is told that his medication are placebos, and he tells his mother he's tired of her trying to keep him away from his friends. He realised there that he was happier and more free when he was with his friends, and (though not said) specifically Richie as well in my opinion. Richie was unabashedly himself, and wasn't afraid to be weird with his friends. I know it is strongly theorised that Richie is ADHD as well, which could also play a part. All the while both Stan and Bill are more reserved in my opinion, both as Bill was self-conscious because of his stutter, and Stanley being bullied for being jewish (both of which we see happen in the beginning of IT). Eddie felt more comfortable around his friends, and specifically Richie because he truly did not care enough about acting weird. Though I believe it is never actually shown that Eddie had a romantic interest in Richie, I strongly believe it could've been something if the writers allowed it.
Now, Eddie and Richie's interactions with each other (in the first movie, because as I have said I have not seen enough of the second movie to speak on it much). Many times, we see specifically Richie and Eddie interacting. To be honest, they are probably the 2 people we see interacting the most throughout the entire movie. One scene I want to bring up specifically, which took me multiple watches to catch, is that at I believe the Derry festival, Richie comes back with 2 ice cream cones, and gives one to Eddie. Now, whether Eddie had directly asked him to get him a cone, or Richie just buying it for him, I think it shows just how much Richie did care about him. I think it shows a little bit of how they interact with each other when we don't see them (on camera). And sure, you can buy ice cream for your friends, but would you not also either ask if anyone else wanted one? You could make the argument that he couldn't carry it but it doesn't disprove the fact Richie specifically bought ice cream for Eddie, which shows how he cared for him.
Richie and Eddie are also constantly bickering back and forth. From when Eddie is trying to help Ben after getting stabbed and him telling Richie to shut up with the silly voices, or in the sewer scene where Richie constantly bickers to Eddie about him being afraid to enter. You can obviously see Richie being the comedic relief, but always more-so to Eddie. To me, I interpret this as him seeing that Eddie is almost always on edge, and trying to distract him to make sure he's happier. And while we do see Eddie get annoyed at Richie, I don't think we ever truly saw him get angry at him or be upset, other than slightly annoyed or exasperated.
I know l am yapping, but to answer your next question about how they defeated pennywise the first time, I think Richie and Eddie's relationship still play a fairly large role. They learn that in order to defeat Pennywise, they have to stop being afraid. We see Richie constantly worry about Eddie when in the house, and basically stuck to his side. In the scene where they are in Bill's garage and watching the projector, when Pennywise shows up on it, we see in the background Richie grabbing onto Eddie, and Eddie grabbing onto him. In a moment of fear, they automatically reached towards each other. This to me they they feel most safe when they are together/close. This makes me think that Richie was really the one that helped Eddie be brave enough to face Pennywise and defeat him. While I think Richie was able to be brave enough to defeat Pennywise because he not only cares about the group but also wanted to keep Eddie safe.
All of this to say; Richie and Eddie were very much implied to be queer (in the movies); even more-so when Richie was confirmed to be gay in the second movie. I really wish that we got to see Richie and Eddie get together to not only have that queer representation, but because I honestly think it would have been a healthy relationship, like it was in the beginning. Richie constantly distracting and teasing Eddie; then comforting each other in times of fear; doing little things for the other. They both cared about each other a lot and I am truly disappointed on the fact we never got to see a happy ending for Eddie, where after years of being in an abusive relationship where Eddie is made to be dependent on the people that are supposed to be your most trusted, he just, dies. We never get to see him get out of those relationships and find someone better (AKA Richie). I truly think the story of Richie and Eddie after IT Chapter 2 could have been its own movie or mini series/book (even though it wouldn't have been). To see Richie be in contact with Eddie again and maybe help him realise he's in an abusive relationship and help him get out of it. At that point it doesn't when have to be romantic but just a deep and intense love for wanting the other to be happy. It would have made a great ending of 2 characters finally finding happiness in each other again after years of struggling.
So there. You asked about my opinion of IT and here it is. This took me like an hour as I immediately started writing after getting this ask, but I enjoyed it. It's nice to finally put my thoughts on this movie into a (hopefully) coherent analysis. Even if like 1 person reads this lol I am happy I got the opportunity to yap about my all time favourite movie. :D Thanks for the ask, and again, sorry about the excessive yapping.

hey i’m not sure if you’ve gotten this question before but do you have any random carmy headcanons?? i feel like talkin about the best boy in chicago :)
omg no one has asked me this before ty! i spend all my time thinking about carmy so i would love to talk about the bestest boy <3
ok assorted random messy carmy headcanons:
• he’s got undiagnosed adhd and i’ve got an entire list of justifications for this headcanon if anyone cares
• carried round a little teddy bear when he was a kid because i mean he’s literally called bear someone bought that kid a teddy bear.
• his favourite meal he’s ever had is something mikey made. probably the braciole
• got some jokes made at his expense by the international staff at noma for being italian american. “you don’t know how to make real authentic italian food, your family makes american garbage” kind of stuff
• probably had one dickhead teacher at school (everyone’s had at least one) who wanted him to stand up and read aloud in spite of his stutter. got shit for that and for not making eye contact with the class when he spoke. poor boy suffered so much at school :(
• first thing he ever learned to “cook” as a tiny little baby was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. he doesn’t remember this bc he was too young but mikey put him up on a chair in the kitchen and showed him use a butter knife
• more of a mikey headcanon, but little mikey *did not* want another younger sibling. was not into the idea at all. then carmy was born and he immediately loved his baby brother more than anything in the whole entire world 💔
• the idea of virgin carmy is very endearing to me and just makes sense given the combination of his anxiety, the way his self hatred manifests in him just not allowing himself like anything good at all, and his lack of social life. but even if he has had sex before he’s still like had zero relationship experience but i mean that part’s canon.
• i like the idea of his angels tattoo being the very first one he got since it’s for sugar and mikey
• i don’t know when and i don’t know how but he gets that denim jacket he sells in the pilot back. me and jeremy allen white are in agreement on this.
• his mommy issues fascinate me. i don’t think she was ever abusive to carmy but between trying to run the beef and raise three kids on her own she probably didn’t have as much time for him as she wanted to and when she was around she was stressed and agitated and not great company. like her sons she probably had some undiagnosed mental illness going on and that had a big impact on carmy. probably worse than it did with mikey and sugar since they had their dad around longer. and i imagine carmy’s probably more like his mom than he ever wants to think about.
• speaking of his dad, i think carmy hates himself so much he probably sometimes thinks “oh maybe if i hadn’t been born maybe my dad would still be around. maybe one more kid was just too much and if it had only been mikey and sugar it would be fine.” he’s wrong of course, but this is the same boy who blames himself for mikey dying.
um ok i probably have a million more carmy thoughts but this is running long so here you go anon!
also if anyone ever wants to come into my ask box and talk about carmy (or sydney or richie!) please do i love to hear people’s thoughts!!!

Richie Tozier & Will Byers Werewolf Metaphor Post
@pinkeoni's old What's up with all the werewolves? post and its further discussion made me think of a lot. Seriously, it's lengthy.
Tumblr media
I wanna preface this by saying I don't actually believe everything is connected or intentional, as it would be a huge reach. However, it's rather interesting to draw connections even where there were intended none. Proceed at your own peril.
As we all know, the Duffers originally wanted to write Stephen King's IT remake. Naturally, we also know they took some inspiration from King's various work, so for me it was a really small leap from werewolf references in Stranger Things to Richie's werewolf in IT.
Richie Tozier Was A Teenage Werewolf
In the book, Richie goes to see a horror double-feature, which includes movies I Was a Teenage Werewolf and I Was a Teenage Frankenstein (both 1957). Let's read the excerpt from the novel.
The Teenage Frankenstein was suitably gross. The Teenage Werewolf was somehow scarier, though… perhaps because he also seemed a little sad. What had happened wasn't his own fault. There was this hypnotist who had fucked him up, but the only reason he'd been able to was that the kid who turned into the werewolf was full of anger and bad feelings. Richie found himself wondering if there were many people in the world hiding bad feelings like that. Henry Bowers was just overflowing with bad feelings, but he sure didn't bother hiding them.
Now, this quote contains a lot of information to suggest that Richie at least empathizes with the character, but we don't actually see him relating to Tony until Richie comes face to face with Pennywise — for the first time, or so he thinks. During this encounter, It takes the form of the Teenage Werewolf and chases Bill and Richie out of the house on Neibolt Street. His appearance is described in great detail and mostly doesn't contradict the original movie, except for the werewolf's silk jacket.
It was black with orange piping — the Derry High School colors.
And a bit further on:
It was the other thing that made him feel as if he might faint, or just give up and let it kill him. A name was stitched on the jacket in gold thread, the kind of thing you could get done down at Machen's for a buck if you wanted it. Stitched on the bloody left breast of the Werewolf's jacket, stained but readable, were the words RICHIE TOZIER.
In the movie it's Tony's signature jacket that allows others to recognize him in his werewolf form, so it only makes sense to assume Richie's scared because he's forced to recognize himself in the monster. The implications affect him so deeply that he considers giving up his own life.
Bad feelings
It provides a bit of insight into Richie's head and makes us question what exactly he considers “bad feelings” within himself, if not anger (he doesn't seem to be an angry person). Some speculate it has to do with growing up and becoming an unstable, hormonal teenager in the future. Others link it to his possible undiagnosed ADHD, self-hatred and the ever-present fear of being ostracized for his differences, both visible and not. Being a queer person in the 50's would also fit the narrative pretty well. For those who are interested, I strongly recommend reading expanded analysis on the matter here (werewolf as a symbol in IT), here (bisexuality viewed as “monstrous”) and here (Richie's fears explained).
Not his fault
Obviously, none of the aforementioned reasons justify putting such strong labels (monster, werewolf) on a literal child. Richie seems to understand he's not at fault for whatever makes him a target, but he also believes in a strong possibility someone can inflict this inhuman identity upon him. Despite already being bullied, he fears his situation can take a turn for the worse. And despite having a wonderful support system, he somehow knows it's not enough. If someone or something decides to “fuck him up” and exploit his vulnerable state, they will, so he cuts down on the amount of vulnerability. Heavily. I can't believe I'm still not talking about Will Byers.
Hiding stuff
As ironic as it sounds, Richie Tozier is canonically good at hiding. Other people find it difficult to make up their minds about his personality and actions — the most famous instance being, perhaps, this quote.
He had known Richie Tozier for four years, and he still didn't really understand what Richie was about.
Richie uses his Voices and “numbers” both as a shield and a weapon. He shows raw emotions only when he considers it absolutely safe. He takes “refuge in absurdity”. To reiterate @/jasperathrifteddoll's werewolf symbolism post, Richie 1) is confusing; 2) tells half-truths; 3) puts up facades; 4) “through his concealment of his inner thoughts to the reader, seems almost aware of his status as a book's narrator”.
All of Richie's fears are connected to or based on public perception. “But he knew well enough” has earned a meta post in and of itself.
Will Byers Has Werewolves In His Closet
So what's the meaning behind this werewolf costume in the Trick or Treat, Freak episode? Maybe it's a manifestation of one of Will's fears, or maybe there's no hidden message. After all, even if Stranger Things and IT are connected, I Was A Teenage Werewolf has nothing to do with ST… Unless we consider it left a huge legacy and inspired The Cramps to write a song of the same name — the one that introduced Eddie Munson to the audience in S04E01. Frankly speaking, I don't think this was an easter egg the writers were actively trying to include, but it doesn't take away from the parallel. It's still fun to compare Will and Richie, especially because on a surface level they're so unlike.
To execute Stephen King's werewolf metaphor, one would need:
a character with enough emotional baggage,
who is afraid of being perceived as a monster,
especially as a result of trusting an authority figure,
who breaks his trust and exploits his vulnerable state,
potentially making him dangerous in the process.
Let's see if Will ticks all the boxes.
Bad feelings
Will's otherness is easy to pick up on. It's either “being a sensitive artistic kid who grew up to be gay in the 80's” or “being a child who was abducted to a horrific dimension and is now attached to it”. Arguably, we don't even have to choose: these two plots are closely related and can become one through the AIDS metaphore. Not to mention the whole “growing up poor with an abusive and neglectful father” thing. Simply put, Will Byers has plenty reason to experience “bad feelings”. On a rare occasion, we can hear about his struggles firsthand.
Bad feelings = self-hatred
So far, Will has internalized a variety of epithets:
“Zombie Boy”
“Freak”
“Stupid”
“Mistake”
We can see each of them affect him to some extent.
In season 2, during multiple heart-to-hearts with Jonathan, Will expresses his desire for everyone to stop treating him different, like there's something wrong with him. Meaning, he himself doesn't think there's something wrong. He stubbornly insists: “Yeah, I am. I am [a freak],” but he's quick to be offended when Jonathan agrees. It reads as a defense tactic, not his own opinion. After all, when you pointedly address yourself in a hurtful fashion, shouldn't those words stop holding power over you?
When drawing the Zombie Boy, Will essentially tries to reclaim this identity in a way that's true to him — by using art. He doesn't want to passively accept the label, he wants to strip it of its negative connotations. But then again, when a kid deemed as dead comes back to life, it's a pretty dumb reason to bully him. Will probably knows it's dumb, so he fights back. His homosexuality, though, is a harder pill to swallow.
There's no denying he feels guilty for his attraction to Mike (well, boys, but Mike specifically). Guilty and other things as well, a mixture of shameful, jealous, hurt, confused and angry. In seasons 3 and 4 he learns that even the tiniest portions of his affection and his sincerest attempts at salvaging a friendship can be neglected or misconstrued. It cuts deeply.
Then there's, of course, the van scene. Will says he feels like a mistake sometimes. Not all the time, he clears up. Mike makes him feel better for being different, and yet Will cries after the speech, knowing full well his differences don't make his life any happier or simplier, or better.
Bad feelings = past trauma
Still, all of it pales in comparison to plain old trauma and its prolonged effects. This anon ask and @/heroesbyler's answer have summarized it better than I ever could. Here's a quote that I can't not mention:
His trauma is one of the most if not the most multifaceted in the entire story, and also he literally is the main character foil to the big villain. Saying that Will hates himself for being gay is such a gross oversimplification of what we see. It's haunting to know that people want to project a stereotypical situation to his nuanced one.
Additionally, there were theories that Will is a victim of CSA, and I'm not only referring to the ones about Vecna/MF/UD allegories (these I very much agree with) but those about full-on CSA by Lonnie. While I'm still on the fence about it, I acknowledge this is also a possibility.
To sum up, our boy Will has been through a lot. Emotional baggage? Check. Susceptibility to “monstrous” labels? Check.
Not his fault
Up until this point I was being ambiguous about whether my theory is applicable to S2 only or other seasons as well. I have to admit, right now the werewolf costume guy is no more than a little foreshadowing of the S2 plot. However, given the fact that S5 is promised to take inspiration from S2, some of its key elements or plot points may be reused, albeit probably in a different fashion. Additionally, new information might be revealed, meaning that the metaphore has potential to grow into something bigger in the future.
For now I'll focus on the S2 events mainly and compare them to I Was A Teenage Werewolf.
___
Movie: Tony Rivers embodies a typical delinquent from the 50's. He's a troubled rebellious teenager with anger issues. He exhibits such violent behavior that he's advised to seek psychological help.
IT: Richie doesn't fixate on the anger part and instead uses “bad feelings” wording to convey broader (or perhaps, entirely different) meaning. Ultimately, we're led to believe that it doesn't matter what character traits Tony possessed. What's more important is 1) he had psychological issues; 2) he was advised to seek out professional help.
ST: Will has a lot of unresolved trauma from his experience in the UD, which manifests in “bad feelings”, so-called flashbacks and coughing up demonic slugs. He's advised to undergo medical supervision/scientific surveillance at Hawkins Lab.
___
Movie: Dr. Alfred Brandon embodies the classic mad scientist archetype. He conducts experiments on people by using hypnosis and medication in unconventional ways and claims it's for a greater cause. He draws out Tony's traumatic childhood memories during their sessions. Brandon has an assistant, Dr. Hugo Wagner, who comes across as compassionate and humanistic.
ST: Dr. Martin Brenner is affiliated with multiple scientific projects that conduct experiments on people by using sensory deprivation, psychedelic drugs and various abuse/manipulation tactics. He, too, claims it's for a greater cause. Also works with traumatic childhood memories, e. g. the whole NINA project. If twelvegate is proven true in S5, these parallels will become positively unhinged. Brenner repeatedly works with Dr. Owens, who on the outside seems more sympathetic towards main heroes.
___
Movie: Tony finally accepts Dr. Brandon's help after a Halloween party gone wrong. He decides to trust everyone's opinion, goes through the procedure and ends up becoming “possessed by wolves” (= made into a werewolf).
ST: Will accepts the fact that he's spiraling and needs help on Halloween night. He decides to trust Dr. Owens, Joyce and Bob that his visions are just PTSD-related episodes. He follows Bob's advice and ends up possessed.
Ultimately, this is the moment when Will's trust is broken. Although it's definitely not Bob's or Joyce's fault, a collective authority figure represented by Hawkins Lab fails Will. It fucks him up big. And one can argue, Owens' incapacity to protect him wasn't a simple negligence but an extension of Brenner's politics. @/runninguplenorahills suggests the following:
If Owens knew about Brenner being alive and deliberately kept that information to himself (which he did), and if Owens knew about Henry and everything that happened (which seems to be the case too)……. Well….. doesn't that make Owens' inability to help and protect Will in s2 a deliberate choice?
Regardless, it isn't Will's own doing that turns him into someone dangerous — it's the Lab's fault.
___
Movie: Dr. Brandon and his assistant argue about the necessity of transforming Tony because it might be harmful or even fatal to him.
“But you're sacrificing a human life!” ”Do you cry over a guinea pig?”
ST: Dr. Owens argues with other scientists over attacking the UD vines/tunnels and potentially harming Will in the process.
“And if it kills the boy?” ”Then quite frankly, Sam, it kills him.”
___
Movie: In his werewolf state, Tony kills a bunch of his classmates, a random dog, Dr. Brandon and his assistant.
ST: While being possessed, Will leads the soldiers into a trap and gets them killed because they've upset the MF. Owens ends up injured, and Bob gets killed. We can view them all as Brenner's “assistants” to different extents.
All in all, I'd say the metaphor fits. But wait, there's more!
Hiding stuff
Once again referencing @/pinkeoni's posts, there's a long history of Will hiding his feelings. Fascinating how the conversation that basically establishes this trait of his, aka his exchange with Joyce, happens in S2 and specifically in relation to his not-actually-PTSD episodes. But the motive of hiding, be it in a literal or a figurative sense (as in hiding parts of himself), is integral to Will's character. It is continually present troughout seasons and is supported by in-show elements and costume design choices alike.
Billy Hargrove And Henry Bowers Are Overflowing
Parallels should be drawn between Henry and Billy, too. This section is small, but nonetheless I like it — it's a finishing touch to the story and a cherry to top it all off.
Richie completes his train of thought by contrasting Tony and Henry Bowers, accentuating how the latter “didn't bother hiding” his bad feelings, e. g. his anger, bigotry and violent outbursts. The same could be said about Billy. Both of them killed people under the influence (Flayed!Billy, Pennywise-inspired!Henry) and definitely were capable of assault regardless. For both of them a relationship with one's father seems to be an instigation of their descent into madness, although Billy hates Neil, whereas Henry appears to have a more complex, effectively love-hate attitude towards Oscar.
It's also noteable that Billy is a foil character to Will, who is mirroring him in many ways, while Henry and Patrick may be seen as foils to Richie and Eddie when it comes to handling “their same-sex attraction”. And by the way, if sexuaility and attraction is consired “bad feelings” within Will's mind, one particular part of this post becomes all the more relevant. To quote and paraphrase, “Billy wears his sexuality proud and openly”, yet Will's sexuality is suppressed — another case of hiding versus overflowing.
I'd love to TL;DR this post into something concise and coherent, but I fear I'd just end up repeating my points and wording. I'd rather say I have more thoughts on Richie and Will's similarities, so there's gonna be a short post about it sometime down the line. Thank you to anyone who decided that this was worth reading!
