now that i have you here:
blue collar workers, fast food workers, service industry, retail employees, everyone who is overworked and underpaid
11/5/23
We hold the power of the world in our hands. They depend on us, but show us none of the gratitude.
Why do the top 10% of people make 90% of the money? That's not a fair system, none of this is right.
11/5/23
We all know it sucks, but we're still just dealing with it. The 2020's have been full of orchestrated plans made by the government and elite, why don't we make some of our own? We might not have the money, but we have the supplies.
It's time we show them that we're not gonna take it. It's time to bring back punk rock in a very tangible way.
11/5/23
This November 5 (because it has to be, obviously) no one go in to work. They can't fire us all. Cities will shut down entirely and they will realize how necessary we are and how seriously to take us. It won't take much.
Then, we compile our resources. We share what we can give. You work in a store and someone wants something for free? Let them have it. This product seems to be defective, guess i gotta "throw it away."
Remember remember the fifth of november
There's enough of us for real change. Forget the electoral colleges, screw capitalism and everything it stands for. Get as many forks as you can, because we're going to EAT THE RICH
and here's the Eagle Nebula so Tumblr knows this is an astronomy post

"Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. "There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. "And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? "Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. "Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. "More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you, then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. "But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot." -V, V for Vendetta

At the end of the day say what you like about November 5th 2020 but something fundamentally changed that day and I am happy we already have a poem about 5th November that tumblr has basically commandeered from Guy Fawkes Night and thats good because I will never ever forget that date I will be 90 years old in some underground bunker or in a floating space capsule long after capitalism has destroyed planet Earth and I will STILL be watching the destielputinelection 5th November video on repeat.

Today in Politics
23/10/22
Rishi Sunak has confirmed that he is running for leader of the Tories.
The Victorian Scarecrow Haunted by a Rich Victorian Industrialist, Jacob Rees-Mogg, has announced that Boris Johnson will also run for leadership.
No word from Boris, who still lacks the number of openly declared nominations to run. Rishi is up to 146.
Johnson-backing MP for Buckingham Greg Smith has told the BBC's Politics South programme he has had two calls with the former PM and has been assured he will run a very different Downing Street administration. "I think all of us lost our patience over the Partygate issue. But I think he has genuinely learned from those mistakes. He is pledging a very different, tighter Downing Street if he’s prime minister again," Smith says.
Gosh, has he learned from his mistakes? Finally? After all those times he had to apologise to the House for all the things he did in his first go at PM? If you believe this, please get in touch - I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.
Lord Mervyn King, former Governor of the Bank of England, has said, "[...]what we need is a government that will actually tell us honestly there is a reduction in our national standard of living because we've decided to help Ukraine and confront Russia and that means that all of us are going to have to share the burden, we can't just put all of it on our children and grandchildren."
Finally, someone of sense!
Good news! Human horror show, Suella Braverman is not running for the leadership. Yay! She is supporting Rishi Sunak though, and will be hoping to get a government post off him. Boo!
Tory leader candidate, and current Commons leader, Penny Mourdant, denied she is speaking to Johnson's camp over a potential deal.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer called again for a general election, describing the Conservative Party as a "chaotic circus".
He's not wrong.
There's a protest planned for 5th November, demanding a general election. Gosh, why does that date resonate? What happened, historically, on 5th November? Can't remember.
Apropos of nothing, there are strict laws about the purchase of gunpowder in this country.

During those difficult and crucial years for European security, in Italy there was an inept ruling class of whom Berlusconi was the leading figure. Many will remember that insult - “unfuckable fat-ass” - to Angela Merkel in 2008, but few will recall “who the hell is this Lukashenko guy?” as spoken by then-minister of defence Ignazio La Russa, nowadays the President of the Senate, who ignored the Belarusian dictator’s very existence. [...]
“Medvedev and Putin are a gift from God”, claimed Berlusconi on September 11th 2010 before an audience of Russian and international diplomats and politicians during a Forum titled, somewhat slipperily, “The parameters of democracy”. Everyone laughed: “Politically, a low level, unsuitable to an important country’s prime minister. But we had fun”, one of the participants commented.
Berlusconi is no more. But his personalistic and opportunistic approach to international relations has left a deep mark. In 2015, shortly after the invasion of Crimea and Donbas, the cavaliere sent a letter to the Corriere della Sera in which he argued it was a mistake to isolate Russia and force it to competition witht the West. In sum, Vladimir Putin may as well have started an invasion but you have to understand him, he’s got his reasons, and you cannot think of solving the Ukrainian crisis without taking the Kremlin into account. These are the same things we’ve been hearing for months from the supporters of appeasement with Russia. They are the same things Berlusconi reiterated on February 23rd 2023 when he claimed that Putin’s goal was to “replace Kyiv’s government with decent people”.
- Matteo Zola, “È morto Silvio Berlusconi, l’uomo che consegnò l’Italia al Cremlino”, EastJournal, 12 June 2023, my translation.
