Hi there!

chimera: So I did dye my hair precisely once, in high school (and Xi can corroborate this, she helped). It took 4 boxes, and was a burgundy color. The highlights were a wine red and the lows were purple. But you couldn’t tell until I was in bright, direct sunlight. My mother didn’t notice for 3 weeks. XD centaur: Uh, not sure? I wear corsets and bodices and act like a pirate and I have 4 inch heels because I’m short and sandals because wow who would wear those very day. My “aesthetic” is a blend of nerd shirts, designer pieces, and cosplay/costume elements. It’s whatever I feel at the time, though it’s not always stylish or comfortable. LOLcentaur & siren I answered but horses and “all”, pretty much. LOL

He told only his closest friends where he was going, leaving all others to think he had vanished without a trace. He placed fences and signs, warning away casual passers-by. He stocked up on books and supplies and seedlings, so as to reduce the times he was forced to leave his refuge.

Of course, a werewolf is only actually dangerous one night a month, and even then not really. But it made for an excellent excuse.

"C'mon. I thought you weren't scared of anything."

"Turns out I am terrified of being murdered by some backwoods pig farmer. Have you never seen American Horror Story?" Natasha pulled away from James's grasp and planted herself in place. "We don't go onto property where we can be murdered by savage hillbillies."

"You're such a killjoy. We can totally take on hillbillies. We have the best shooting skills in the world. Legitimately." Bucky was waving his arm toward the trees beyond the sign.

Natasha stood adamant with her arms crossed and shook her head. "And they have pitchforks and insanity. But, James, insanity always wins."

He'd been mostly aware when they'd trained him to be the Winter Soldier. He wasn't sure at which point they'd tried to inject any sort of magic into his system. If he could create purple fire in his palm, could he also throw a ball of fire at his enemies now?

No time like the present to find out. BOOM Okay, then.

@buckybarnesdeservestobehappy - Bucky opens his hand and watches as the purple flame licks over his palm. Before he can process it, it morphs into his mother and then his dad before giving way to the Howlies, Steve, and finally Schmidt and Zola. Closing his hand, he smiles at the feeling of squishing his tormentors. "Take that, you bastards," he growls.

@rebelmeg - the winter soldier having fire powers gives me interesting thoughts about art therapy with ice sculptures

@ribbonsflyingoutthewindow - Bucky looked into the flame of purple energy coming from the woman's palm. "Clea Strange, you said?"

"You haven't forgotten what I said."

Bucky didn't take his eyes off the purple light. "And you're offering me this ability? What's the catch?"

Clea smiled and cocked her head. "What makes you think there's a catch?"

Bucky shook his head. "I've been around for more than my fair share of time and no power comes without payment and repercussions. I think you should keep your gifts this time. Thank you."

(For anyone unfamiliar, Clea Strange comes from the Dark Magic side with Dormammu. And she and Stephen are married.)

But maybe this time Clint is trying to prank Bucky? As if Bucky won't know it's him the second he's within 50 feet of Clint in that ridiculous costume.

@buckybarnesdeservestobehappy - Bucky had promised Natasha he'd wear the sunglasses as part of his costume. What he didn't tell her was that he was going to the party as a ghost. At least he'd kept his promise, but that didn't seem to matter if the thunderous expression on her face was any indication.

bucky: "i don't even wanna go to this dumb party, so if my ghost costume isn't good enough, i am perfectly happy to stay home."

clint: "don't you dare let nat hear you call her masquerade party stupid."

@rebelmeg - alternatively, tony's arranged a very elaborate haunted house experience for morgan, and he's got all the avengers chipping in to help. bucky got off easy, actually, seeing as how steve got talked into being a zombie and has been shuffling around moaning for the better part of two hours

@ribbonsflyingoutthewindow - "You drew the short straw, didn't you?" Natasha asked Sam as he leaves over the fence.

Sam didn't budge from where he was propped on the fence in his ghost costume. "You got to be a ballet doing mummy thing. Bucky’s out there being a vampire. Steve's a little too realistically make-up'd zombie. And what did I get to be? A boring, dead white guy."

bucky just chuckled as he scampered away. just wait until sam saw what he'd done to the blow-up ghosts...

@ribbonsflyingoutthewindow - The thing is that Bucky had never been to a Spirit Halloween store so considering Halloween was his favourite holiday and there was so much to buy, Bucky handed over that little black SHIELD card and let his grabby hands and grabby heart do the shopping till he had bought everything he could possibly fit into the truck he rented. The Avengers' compound's lawn looked amazing. The skeleton's outside Steve's window were even recreating the moment he told Steve what he had done.

@buckybarnesdeservestobehappy - Bucky already had issues with fancy coffee, but this was just too much. The barista was entirely too creative, and he needed to spend his time creating art that lasted instead of drawing ghosts in Bucky's coffee.

@huntress79 - Halloween not only meant literal gallons of Pumpkin Spice Latte being sold at the coffee shop, Peter, Sam and Bucky also had their annual Coffee Cream Art Contest, with Clint, Carol, Nat and Darcy as the judges. During the whole month of October, the three drew all kinds of spooky things on the cream, but in the end, Bucky's ghost that ended up on the latte for one Pepper Potts won.

@ribbonsflyingoutthewindow - The thing about having a relationship with an artist is that they wanna put art everywhere. And Bucky just wants his coffee. So here Steve goes creating the damn near coolest coffee Bucky’s ever seen and now Bucky can't even drink it. Does Starbucks deliver?

The other man glanced up at him. "And a Happy HallowThanksMas to you too," and tipped his hat.

@lbibliophile-mcu - Bucky looks down at the blob of white foam innocently surrounded by brown. Usually he is good at latte art, it is one of the things the cafe is becoming known for. And he'd wanted this one in particular to be really nice. But he'd looked up at just the wrong moment, seen the cute guy waiting on the other side of the counter smile at him, and then... this. Taking a deep breath, he uses his drawing stick to create three brown dots in the white, then passes it over. Maybe the man has a sense of humour?

@buckybarnesdeservestobehappy - Something wasn't right, and Bucky knew that because the hair on the back of his neck told him so. Glancing behind him, he tried to figure out what was hiding in the shadows, but whoever or whatever it was could hide really well. Walking a little faster, he made it to his door and unlocked it just in time to slip inside and shut the door firmly behind him.

@rebelmeg - my brain is throwing out exactly two things. "awooo" bucky or drunk and/or sleep deprived bucky slurring, "why's the moon pink?"

@ribbonsflyingoutthewindow - I am watching American Horror Story and it's the season where the blood moon causes the bad stuff to start happening.

@huntress79 - Of course, the "perfect" moment for Bucky and Sam, his hunting partner, to strike against the vampire's nest had to fall in sync with the current blood moon. Every hunter worth their salt knew that vampires were exceptionally aggressive around that time. Nonetheless, they both grabbed their gear, Sam said a prayer, and off they went to stop the nest, once and for all.

@ribbonsflyingoutthewindow - Steve's been jokingly howling at the full moon quietly every lunar cycle ever since they watched a series of old werewolf films a year ago. And tonight when Bucky spotted the blood moon, he caught himself doing it too. Mid-Mission. So Natasha and Sam turned and looked at him like they couldn't believe it had really just happened. The next time Bucky sees Steve, he's really got it coming, that dumbass bitch.

@rebelmeg - avengers and co. pumpkin carving party, complete with hot chocolate, lots of desserts, and a spooky movie to watch later with their pumpkins all lined up and glowing.

@wolfarrowepz - Bucky surprising Clint with Halloween decorations after finding out Clint loves Halloween as much as he does.

@book-dragon-13 - Bucky dresses up as the headless horseman for Halloween, including a jack o lantern to serve as the fake head

@huntress79 - Halloween at the Avengers Tower almost had a military character to it - something that Bucky (and not just him) totally blamed on Maria and Pepper working together in the planning phase. Either way, while Nat, Darcy and Pepper herself were responsible for all kinds of make-up on the guests' faces (with quite some surprising help from Clint), Bucky, Steve and Bruce ended up in one of the communal kitchens, a small field's worth of pumpkins in front of them, waiting to be carved.

@ribbonsflyingoutthewindow - Despite everything, Steve is an artist at heart. And Natasha has a surprisingly creative side that helps her in both ballet and in the field. But Bucky? Anything creative about him was probably stamped out by his father at a pretty young age. Everything in the Barnes household was done with military precision. Their schedules were calculated to the minute. Their beds were made as if they lived on a base. Even Bucky's haircut had always had to be standard regulation. Unfortunately even these days that means when it comes to ideas for the jack-o-lantern, Bucky's only idea is to make one classic and exactly perfect. Luckily with his knife skills, it's as easy as pie (which is exactly what Bucky makes himself as a reward).

Clint Barton

With a normal person, this might count as blackmail material, but a) this is a case of mutually assured destruction if ever there was one, and b) Fury is immune to embarrassment. Not just in the regular, Tony Stark way, either, oh no. Things that could possibly end up being embarrassing to Fury get somehow warped and changed until they go from mortifying all the way over into useful and/or good for his image. It’s like a superpower.

Carrying Clint’s small child self around on his shoulders more than once has probably already hit the interagency rumour mill as an example of Fury’s innate awesomeness: good with rocket launchers and small children.

Bruce Banner

As Tony began to pace around the hole in the road to keep himself from shooting repulsors at the nearby buildings in a fit of rage, Thor began to study the nearby area. There was no sign of either the Hulk or Bruce Banner beyond the crater. The surrounding area, aside from the rubble of the fight, held no clue as to their friend’s location.

“Guys, he’s gone,” Tony growled into the communicator on their private line, drawing Thor out of his darkening thoughts. “Someone tranqed him and took him. He’s gone.”

Honorary mention goes to the Responsible Science series by @letteredlettered - the stories don’t have the "Avengers Team & Bruce Banner" tag, but they could, and they are amazing. The best Bruce Banner writing I've ever come across.

This one may seem like it’s vaguely on time, but I was literally five minutes away from posting this for you, @writingamongthecoloredroses. I legitimately started to laugh because your timing was that brilliant. Anyway, here’s one of the many that I owe you, and thank you for the tag!

He didn’t seem too bothered by her panic, either, or how her expression changed so suddenly into one of panic; copper burning at her mouth, her tongue weighted and heavy while ice crawled through her veins, and eyes so, so afraid.

I probably need to touch this one up a bit, but. This is from one of the concept paragraphs of “Everglow.” It features a sort-of mundane girl in a supernatural world, watching best friends dying, having the literal weight of the world on her shoulders, and slowly being driven insane by a sort of unreliable cousin. Elena isn’t having a fun time right now, is what I’m saying. She probably won’t be for a while, honestly.

You can blame @rebelmeg for this! We were talking about bots and fills and suddenly she accosted me with the idea of Eve and Wall-E being friends with Tony’s bots. We made a deal then. Summary: Tony really shouldn’t tinker after watching a movie and running on little to no sleep. Albeit… Maybe he should do it more often.

Word Count: 735 (Fill below the cut)

'Oh... whoops?', Tony thought as he stared blurry eyed at a square-ish robot chirping and rolling around his workshop. DUM-E was seemingly attached to that yellowish bot’s metaphorical hip and in the corner Tony could see a white hovering oval-shaped bot quietly exchanging beeps with U and Friday.

“FRI, baby girl, where do those bots come from? Do I have to pay someone to keep this shush shush?”

The slight static rumbling indicated his girl’s chuckling. Tony felt a wave of pride flooding him when she replied cheekily, “Only yourself, Boss. And maybe the rest of the family.”

Tony tried to look put out by this reply, he really tried, but when the yellow bot came to him and blinked with it’s big eyes, he couldn’t stop the big ass grin.

And if he cooed, that was no one's business but his.

“Hello, hello. And who are you?”

“WALL-E,” answered the small bot, outstretching its claw and reaching for Tony’s stained jeans. As soon as the name registered, the engineer realized what he had done.

“Oh. Oh god. Note to self, never watch movies with robots in them while running on 2 hours sleep for 57 hours and an unholy amount of coffee.”

“You want me to mark that done, Boss?”

“Na, it’s fine, Baby girl.” Then Tony turned back to the bot, who still looked at him with big, oh so gullible, eyes. ‘Gosh this bot is going to be the death of me.’

“Hello, Wall-E, you’ve already found friends here?”

“Wall-E!”

“Dum-E and you are probably best friends by now.” The happy chirp sound coming from both bots was confirmation enough. Tony loved his bots dearly, and adding one or two more didn’t seem such a bad choice now that the engineer got to talk with one. Just as he decided that yes, he would find room for the two new additions to his bot family, the second one, Eve if he remembered correctly from the movie, came over.

Tony watched and waited, curious to see how they bots interacted now that he was around.

Eve made a smiley face when Wall-E chirped at her and then turned to him, saying, “Hello Ton-E. I’m Eve. Thank you for housing us.”

Tony was taken aback by Eve’s articulation skill. None of his former bots had been that expressive. But alas, none of his bots had been programmed to act quite like Eve either.

So, after collecting himself, he smiled gently, reaching out his hand until Eve touched it in a mimicry action. Only then did he say, “You’re most welcome Eve. I hope you and Wall-E will come to love it here. But fair warning, I’m a bit loud sometimes.”

“That, boss, is an understatement.”

“Hey!”

The equivalent of laugher was heard from all corners of the shop as all the bots chimed in.

It ended in Tony sitting sulkingly on his chair mumbling, “Betrayal, from my own blood! How dare them all. That snark, that sass! Unbelievable.”

But all the bots knew he didn’t mean it, and those that weren’t sure, like Dum-E and Wall-E came rolling and doing what equals cuddling to him until Tony was laughing with them.

Throughout the day Tony managed to sort out a section for Eve and Wall-E to stay at, without the other bots intruding on their space because, -”No Dum-E, Eve and Wall-E’s space is their space because they are like me and my love. No interrupting while love time.” - and get to know the newest additions to his family.

In the evening he asked into the room, “What do you all want to do?”

Yes Tony had to do some SI stuff, and Avengers gear updates and -tomorrow waits for no one, love- , but he had decided that spending time with his family was more important. Seeing as his love wasn’t around at the moment, he sure as hell could spend his free time however he wanted.

In the end, they all watched a movie together. Wall-E and Eve, as the honorary new siblings, had picked it. The name was Big Hero 6.

As soon as Tony's eyes lay on the marshmallow like bot; as soon as Friday commented that he looked oh so lonely, Tony's head filled with schematics.

If a bit later his love told him "Tony no!", well seeing his bot family happy was worth whatever loving scolding he would gain.

SCRAP SPOTLIGHT!

Prompt: Bucky is a bit of science nerd. He’s not a genius like Tony or Bruce, but he can often be found lurking around the lab, just watching them work. Sometimes when he can’t sleep, he goes down to the lab and tinkers with some of the simpler maintenance bots. Tony knows, but he hasn’t told anybody about it.

WIP:

Bucky was brooding in the corner again, and Tony cheerfully ignored the cybernetic assassin while he went about constructing…whatever it was he was constructing. He wasn’t even really sure what idea he’d started with; he’d just started tinkering. Scientific engineering was a wonderful thing, and at three in the morning, it really didn’t matter what he was working on, just that he was doing something.

He was only aware that Bucky had moved because DUM-E started beeping excitedly. But Jarvis hadn’t sounded any alarms, so Tony kept tinkering. He lifted the gadget up to eye level and stared at it critically. He was pretty sure that he was building what might possibly be a bomb, and he grimaced, setting it down carefully and making a mental note to very carefully deconstruct it later.

Captain America Steve Rogers/Modern Bucky Barnes, identity porn; romance novel tropes and themes; minor character injury, didn't know you were dating a celebrity

Summary: Mechanic Bucky Barnes doesn’t realize that his hot boyfriend Steve is actually Captain America until he agrees to go to a “work event,” which turns out to be the Met Gala.

Steve Rogers meets the hottest mechanic in Brooklyn, who doesn’t seem concerned about him being Captain America. It’s a refreshing change. When Tony strong-arms him into not only attending the Met Gala, but introducing his boyfriend to the Avengers, Steve brings Bucky as his plus one.

Avengers (except Thor and Tony) have a level of fame similar to Tony Hawk - they aren’t recognized out of uniform, even with hints Each section starts with a tweet from one of them, with a Tony Hawk style interaction

Peter Quill detects SOS, goes off on own to investigate after Rocket insists it’s some sort of trap. It is --- Candarians take Peter prisoner - put in cell with Tony who was kidnapped from earth a few months ago - passed from ship to ship as pet/slave engineer (neglect > torture except for the current assholes. Peter snuck stuff in to facilitate escape - “No reason this can’t be fun,” as takes off shirt. Tony responds “Sorry sunshine -- the spirit may be willing, but the flesh is weak.” “Everyone out here thinks human armpits are disgusting - it’s a great place to hide stuff. Peels off patches of plastiskin -- comms, mini weapons, explosives, ??

Tony is actually ripped as hell from metal working and stuff, so the first time anyone sees his torso, they’re all shocked because he doesn’t seem like he’s going to be built like that, especially not under all the suits of cloth or iron.

WIP Wednesday 16 Sep 2020

Chapter 15 of It All Started With) A Night at the Nat (aka WinterIron/WinterHawk/WinterIronHawk Supernatural AU with werewolf!Bucky and fae!Tony & Clint) is paused for the moment - I've done nothing (other than working out the grand finale WinterIronHawk smut in my head) The way things are going, I doubt I'll get it done before the end of the month, as other more time- restricted projects are bouncing around in my brain. Current Last Line: n/a

Part 1 of the @starkbucksbingo Multiverse Shenanigans square Quantum Leap-ish fic is still sitting at 940 words with maybe another 200-400 to finish it off. I'm combining it with an adopted TSB flash fill - Meeting Alternate Universe Counterparts to give myself a deadline. FYI: I will definitely need some help with the various 'verses I am planning on having them visit on subsequent parts: (Avengers Academy, Avengers Assemble, Earth 616, Marvel 1872, Noir Marvel) -- so if you have expertise in any of these and are willing to help with plot ideas, please let me know! Current Last Line: “So, why’d you bring me here?”

I'm shooting to get another blackout for the September @tonystarkbingo Flash bingo #023 card - the tricky part is going to be finding the time to write it all!

Friday square - as mentioned above, this is being replaced with Meeting Alternate Universe Counterparts

Epilogue square: Combining it with my @starkbucksbingo square Kill List/Hit List which I'm also using for my Winter's Snowflakes fanart fic challenge (several Discorders are writing a fic based on the same pic). After a successful mission (Dec 16, 1991) - the Soldier is given the assignment to bring the Stark heir to Hydra any way he can. If it runs into multiple chapters (as it's likely to do, given that it's me writing this) - I might throw a Whumptober prompt or two into the mix. This is coming along nicely at 830 words. Current Last Line: “What are you, my—“ Tony cut himself off mid-sentence, his face crumpling.

Touch square: Started working on a sequel from Tri (Tri) Again with Tony and Eddie|Venom getting up to some more smutty shenanigans. It's currently at 841 words and they're just now getting around to talking about the smut stuff. Current Last Line: But now, well ... V’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Insomnia square: Combining with my @buckybarnesbingo Insomnia square and another @rebelmeg Sleepy/Cozy prompt: "Carry me to bed?" It's a new pairing for me: WinterPepperony - (technically established Pepperony with Pepper angling to get Bucky into the mix). It's pretty much finished at 760 words and will probably be published on Friday. Current Last Line: He grinned and swept her up in his arms. “Whatever you say, boss-lady.”

Decision at Sundown (IronHusbands Western AU with mistaken identity smut) is still languishing at the moment. I know the basics of where Chapter 3 will go (Rhodey meeting Tony at Miss Carol’s and mistaking him for an employee), but haven’t gotten any words down on paper yet. I could really use an encouraging nudge on this one, BTW….

Eventually, I’m going to take look at all the published WIPs I have out there and figure out which ones I still have a spark for and which ones to call it quits on. :^/

On other creative fronts, I’m working on a Batman figure for the fourth of my 7-figure commission and I've signed up for @marveltrumpshate - so stay tuned for your chance to bid early and often! You can also always check out Stuffed With Character over on Facebook for a list of my designs and photos. They’re mostly Marvel and monsters, but I have some Star Wars & Disney figures as well. Plus I love to take custom design requests! (The holidays are on the way... hint hint)
