I'm making my way through A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn and I kind of started Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas.

I'm currently waiting on a copy of When in Rome by Sarah Adams from the library.

I'm so happy about the warm weather this week. My day just gets better when I can have the door open and sun shine in.

Elide Lochan 🖤 Happy 10th anniversary to Throne of Glass!! Reading the series again, especially books 4,5 and 7, reminded me just how strong and badass Elide really is. She seems like such a small, minor character in the beginning and then you see her bloom. Plus her saving Lorcan in KoA is still one of my fave moments from the entire series. Such a badass! Fenrys Fanfic

Okay kids here is my first shot at a fanfic about my ABSOLUTE favorite character... Fenrys

This is going to be set in last part of Kingdom of Ash and afterwards

I’m really excited about this and I hope you guys like it!

Chapter 1:

The female watched as they walked through the city. Staying in the shadow of the crowd, she kept her head down and tried to make a decision.

The queen had been crowned this morning and she had not wanted to walk alone, she wanted to share the moment with all the people who had helped save the city, the territory, the realm. The fae female stared at the fire queen, but somehow she could sense that her fire was gone. There had been rumors of the vastness of her power, but the female could sense it, smell it. Aelin no longer had that power. The female was slightly shocked, not at the knowledge, but the ability she had to sense it. Without thinking she sent her power forward to the group, and aimed for the center, for the beautiful blond. Even without most of her powers, her essence was flame, ashes, and cinders, but the female pushed through the heat and suddenly she heard a voice.

“A better world”

With that she flew back to her own mind and stumbled backward. Apologizing to the woman she had almost ran over, she decided that leaving was the only option. She didn’t understand her own powers, how could she ask those people for help. She had just broken every boundary and would probably be killed if anyone knew what she had just accomplished. The white haired consort would torture her for disturbing the mind of his mate.

Shaking her head she turned around and started toward the forrest, to the place she would always be safe. Walking down the cobblestone street she suddenly felt a strange prickle on the back of her neck. She couldn’t stop herself from looking back toward the cheering and the people who could be her salvation. The people still were clapping and watching their royals, and everything seemed to be in order.

She was about to turn back around when she caught a flash of gold and two red scares running down a dangerously beautiful face. He was staring right at her with a look of both questioning and utter clarity. The onyx eyes that were so intently focused, reminded her of the darkness she grew so comfortable with as a child. The male slightly leaned in her direction, like he was going to follow her. The terror she felt in that moment was closely followed by blackness. She blinked and then was looking at her cottage, her father’s cottage. The female sprinted for the old oak door, but she couldn’t help but remember the fall of her stomach when she had met the gaze of the golden male and the single thought that instinctually hissed in her mind, mine.

“Fenrys?”

Tearing his eyes from the now empty spot, Fenrys turned toward Rowan. The male had his head cocked to one side and asked, “Are you okay?”

Fenrys looked down unable to meet his stare, but caught view of his hands. They were almost white he was clenching them so hard. He didn’t know what just happened, but when he caught her sent, he couldn’t move away from the spot. She smelled of his favorite spice, cinnamon, and oak, but there was an underlying scent that was unknown to him, but soothed him all the same.

When she had finally turned around, after what felt like an eternity, the deep violet eyes that met his made the air leave his lungs and every hair on his body stand up. The conflicting emotions he felt, of belonging but foreign, of answers but more questions, all only fueled his need to be in her presence. When this need trumped all others and blinded him to the celebration surrounding him He started toward her, but then her eyes widened and then was gone, with only darkness left in her wake.

It was only then that he realized he had only looked at her eyes, and couldn’t picture any of her other features or clothing

After that all he could do was stare at the spot where she once stood, wondering who she was and why she had looked terrified. How is it that she could use a power that looked so much like his? He tried not to think about her power and its connection to his own, when it only ever brought him back to watching his brother, in life and power, stab himself through the heart.

The question that trumped all was the one he spoke out loud to Rowan, his king, companion, and friend.

“Is there room in this court for one more?”
