You don’t exactly expect it to happen until you’re crash landing into someone else’s arms, wondering how the hell you lost the battle against gravity in the first place.” ✨🏠✨ Final Offer by Lauren Asher is the third and final instalment in the Dreamland Billionaires series, this time following the dual narratives of Callahan “Cal” Kane and Alana “Lana” Castillo. I have to admit that this was by far my favourite of the trilogy! The friends to lovers (not once, but twice!) meant that the banter and the tension were incredibly amped up, and the smut scenes reflected that. I loved how the fluffy cuteness could transition into steamy spice without being awkward. The characters well well-rounded, and I enjoyed the exploration of their past relationship, as well as their current one, and I very much liked that while the inheritance played a part of the story, it wasn’t as much of the main focus, unlike the last two books. I also have to admit that I loved that both the previous couples made appearances in this book, as it felt like it tied them together nicely. The discussion around substance abuse and the road to recovery was, for the most part, handled incredibly well. However, I didn’t agree with the fact that Cal seemed to be so focused on making Lana his reason for staying sober; I feel like the book would have benefited if we saw a bit more of Cal doing it for himself, rather than her or the inheritance. That one girl who observe every action and every people, somehow predict everyone's intention and meaning of words behind the actual saying, appears kind but has every intention of destroying you in a more crucial way than you did her, knows too much for her own good, put up a facade to class because there lives the very own spouses of jealousy, values academic validation because without it the illiterate muggles would treat her like dirtbag, knows a great deal of world history, heritage, and culture, wears her heart on her sleeves, has strong political views, have cute dramatic breakdowns in the shower, has a book full of names of people she abhor, literally wear her heart on her sleeves for her small circle, miss home everyday, learn curse words in Latin to cuss everytime someone annoys her in class, would let you put her down without a word but after three long years you'd be facing a nightmare for making her feel small (for which you should start praying now).

“It’s funny about ‘passing.’ We disapprove of it and at the same time condone it. It excites our contempt and yet we rather admire it. We shy away from it with an odd kind of revulsion, but we protect it” “Rene, dear…your way may be the wiser and infinitely happier one. I’m not sure just now. At least not so sure as I have been” A short book that left one of the biggest contradictory feelings left in me. The idea of “passing” (where light skin women and men could pass for white) is explored through the tumultuous friendship between Irene Redfield and Clare Kendry. Clare’s character was far from perfect in passing for white in order to experience luxury-even so, she kept my interest and I wished the story was a bit longer so that it could explore her a little more. Irene, surprisingly, was equally frustrating in her attempt at maintaining her “perfect life” despite her husband’s restlessness to move and wanting to protect her kids from racism. However, her duty to stand up to protect her race made her more dimensional. If anything, both women were living lives of delusion (believing and wanting things only for themselves) and being something they weren’t (and never should’ve been). How can you live in fear of your own body?” ✨📚✨ Trigger warnings include attempted suicide, self harm, suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, violence, abuse, and sexual abuse. 📚 Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow is a dark contemporary young adult novel following Charlotte “Charlie” Davis before and after she attempts to commit suicide. The first thing that I have to say about this book is that I didn’t enjoy the way the book was written. It was really fragmented; some chapters only had a couple of lines on them, while others had pages. I found it to be distracting from the overall story, but it did make it a quick read. This novel deals with a lot of heavy topics, and for the most part, I think it was done well. Glasgow isn’t afraid to show us what Charlie is thinking or feeling, which sometimes leads to some really complex and gritty discussions about self harm and abuse, but at times it did feel like some of the things included were only for shock value. I think some of the issues discussed could have been explored more in depth if only the author didn’t try to tackle so many at once. That being said, Charlie and her thoughts and fears as she tried to build a life for herself after leaving the institute were incredibly realistic, as were most of the interactions she had with the people around her. But I do have to be honest and say that I found it hard to like Charlie as a character at times, which I think is important; not everyone is likeable all of the time. Confessions of A Bookworm

As an avid reader, I always look for more books to read. I may also share some of the books I have come across on my path, that I feel have shared some useful information.

I am a read-for-knowledge type of person. My husband and children sometimes make jokes, because the books I am into can also be used for what I do for work, but I love expanding on my knowledge so I can be more well-versed on the subject matters.

The books I read are often educational, spiritual, metaphysical, medical, health and wellness, self-discovery, and self-help-based. Although I also read sci-fi, comics, graphic novels, fantasy fiction, and magical realism. I am a writer and have written poetry and expression pieces most of my life, with tons of journals and notebooks filled with over 20+ years of my writings. So I also enjoy a good poetry book as well.

Being a heavy reading couple, it also brings me joy to know that our children have inherited the same nature, with a love for reading, and writing as well, and between all of us, the libraries never know what to do with us, because we will go through entire sections, often having to request books in advance.

I would love to receive book suggestions if anyone has any they would love to recommend.

I have also posted a picture of some books I own that contain helpful information, different perspectives on certain things that allow room for growth and development, and personal improvement.
