In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.

this man, the only man I would write a book about. He is the epitome of prettiness, his face, him, he is sculpted like an art. Thank you Jane Austen, for creating this man.

The other day I watched pride and prejudice 2005 for the 2nd time and I can’t stop thinking about it 🫠
I fell in love with Mr Darcy’s and Elizabeth’s stolen glances at each other and especially the most BEAUTIFUL QUOTE EVER
“U have bewitched me body and soul”😫😫😫
PLEASE LET ME FIND A MAN WHICH WILL DESCRIBE HIS LOVE FOR ME LIKE THIS 🙌🏻
Anyways let me know if you have any thoughts on it as well
Or even let me know if you noticed any parallels

I am only now realizing, as I re-read Pride and Prejudice, that this lovely 19th century novel actually has some pretty good aromantic representation
Like how did I not see this before? Mr. Collins and Charlotte Lucas are definitely aromantic, with Mr. Collins easily and casually switching who he wishes to marry three times within a month, due to his prospectives changing in practical suitability, and then when he and Charlotte decide to marry, Charlotte literally says this to Eliza:
"I am not romantic, you know; I never was. I ask only a comfortable home; and considering Mr. Collins's character, connection, and situation in life, I am convinced that my chance of happiness with him is as fair as most people can boast on entering the marriage state."
Like hello??? I don't recall talking about this in English class, or even perceiving it, really

No because pride and prejudice isn't "I changed myself for you so you would love me back." It's "your blatant rejection and disdain for me made me realize things about myself no one had ever been bold enough to tell me so I sat down and evaluated all my behavior patterns and why they came about and came to the realization myself that I had to work on myself. Also I don't expect you to love me now that I'm a work in progress, so I'm just going to do nice things for you because I don't like seeing you hurt." No wonder P&P fans refuse to settle.
