I get so tired of the random comparisons of book to screen adaptation. Movies are not meant to be tv; tv is not meant to be books; books are not meant to be movies. Changes are relevant and also vital for there to be some sort of new and exciting interpretation over the original material. Not only are adaptations impossible to match to the 350 page books of material (and book details that would just be filler and not read the same way on screen), but it would be such a lazy attempt and lack of creative vision for a writer to transfer a story exactly as is. Adaptations are not portrayals of what once was the same story. A good script will be able to stand on it's own in some way. Books are not scripts; let's keep them that way.

With the series coming out and it’s obvious success, it makes me wonder if they would ever consider doing a HOO series. I would love to see the characters and storylines brought to the screen but I don’t think it would make it past the first season.

And that’s because The Lost Hero (the first book) doesn’t have Percy in it. When the book came out it was a really big thing and I remember some of my friends loosing interest because of it.

Like, Rick gave us Percy, Annabeth, and Grover, took them away, and gave us Jason and Piper. Also Leo, but people are fine with him.

It’s mostly Piper and Jason they have a problem with because people think Piper is a pick me and that Jason is boring. Because of that if an HOO show ever got picked up, I worry that people might loose interest and the show wont go on.

I know I’m just overthinking and that PJO isn’t even out yet but it’s 3am and it’s all I can think about.

Instead of a Harry Potter reboot, why don’t we get an adaptation of Dhonielle Clayton’s ‘The Marvellers’ series, also known as Conjureverse?

It follows a young girl named Ella who goes to a magic school full of students from around the world. It is incredibly diverse, charming, and has wonderful messages about friendship for kids!

It is the magic school story this generation needs, one of the best middle grades I have read in a long time, and just plain old good.

i don’t like when movies/shows based on books make obvious changes. i mean, cutting stuff out, i understand, you don’t have time to fit it all in.

The outpouring of Support for the adaptation of Shadow and Bone has been amazing. (Change.org petition below.) And the fans have even gotten the attention of the cast, crew and show runner.
