i put it there because i was interested in any other niche ships you had asdlghsdlf

IT'S OKAY I just wasn't sure the 'lmao' could read either way and I wasn't entirely sure how it was meant so I didn't want to assume the worst (because text as a medium can be tricky to parse for intent)

But yeah, I just don't have a lot of romantic ships! I have a long list of platonic favorites, things that I can and will sneak into my works given half a chance, but my list of romantic ships is...pretty small, all things considered. I have my long list of Chrobin works, my Sully and Sumia bias sneaks in as a side plot in a lot of those, and someday I swear Henry and Olivia will get a feature, but that's...kind of it. I'll play with others -- Sully and Kellam is another one I'm super fond of, as is Vaike and Maribelle (both kids make so much sense in the context of those parents) -- but to some extent, all my ships start off as platonic pairings and grow from there.

The same is really true for Three Houses. I hate the canon endcard for them, but I do have a major soft spot for Ignatz and Raphael as either a platonic or romantic relationship. Ignatz and Leonie is another favorite for me, and that one I do love the end card for (I got it for both SS and CF) -- but I don't need that one to be romantic, and I'm actually happy with the two of them just being close friends. Felix and Bernie is the same way, down to the end cards: I see them as platonic rather than romantic, and they make me happy. Some of the few romantic pairs I do like for Three Houses isn't rare pairs to my knowledge (Dimitri and Marianne, who have a respectable ~275 works on AO3; and Hilda and Marianne, who have a frankly impressive ~775 works on AO3), and another that I'm fond of has a pretty healthy fandom following of 400+ works on AO3 (Dorothea and Ingrid -- their paralogue Did Things to my brain).

So yeah it seems like my most niche ship is actually a canon possibility, it's just that nobody else likes it RIP Me

MLB thoughts after Hack San

✨spoilers✨

In Hack San we have Marinette panicking over going on a trip to London with her parents (which is more or less a 2-3 hour train ride for MLB), and her trying to find excuses, with Tom understandably not believing her, so that she can stay home and be able to transform incase of an akuma attack. Needless to say, despite astrucs tweets 🐎prancing🐎 around why Mari couldn't have taken Kallki with her when she absolutely could have and it would have been fine??

I have my doubts here and there about Alya and her relationship with Marinette, some 🚩being when she first gets the fox miraculous and her response after ladybug asked for it back was literally 🥺awe but why can't I keep it, I'll be such a good partner🥴 and near refusing to return it to the point ladybug is about to transform back and trixx isn't helping and there was literally nothing stopping her from running with it until he mentioned being ✨ trustworthy ✨

Another being when she received the fox miraculous permanently, right after going against ladybug and grabbing the turtle miraculous too (which in turn did allow ladybug to realize the lengths Shadowmoth is willing to go) however in the endcard for optigami, you can see both trixx and Alya looking at the miraculous while Marinette and tikki are looking at her

Other noticable 🚩 are when they're at the wax museum and she's pressuring Marinette to be alone with Adrien and her freaking out while Alya ignores her

Not to mention Rocketeer when Rena Furtive is taking selfies of her new fits and gushing over them with Marinette, on the school steps mind you, while Mari, exhausted, reminds her that she shouldn't be this excited and to lay low. That the fox miraculous no longer has a permanent owner and that she most definitely cannot tell nino under any circumstances that she is still a holder, even a temporary one at that.

We see Nino being salty that she's not there but as soon as alya tells him that shes no longer Rena rouge, he was completely fine and understood completely.

Yet she still told him, even after being on the phone with Mari, who still told her not to tell anyone.

Now, funnily enough the episode where she tells Nino something he's not supposed to know, is right after Hack San, which I'm sure you know, was entrusted with the ladybug earrings. As aforementioned, Mari didn't bring the horse miraculous with her to London like she did the first time, because who would use continuity amirite?

No, instead she called Alya as a last resort, even though without the horse miraculous, she could have had one of her ✨magicaroons✨ and become space bug (which they could have also done in Crocoduel after Chat says " but we don't have wings, it's not fair 😩")

The only thing that allows this lack of magic enhancements is that Marinette, even with the partially decoded Grimoire, either hasn't had the time or the right ingredients for making more of them, for herself and chat.

As Alya, worriedly, accept the ladybug miraculous for the day, not only is she so set on finding a suitible name for herself, she is very clearly talking to something in her lap about being ladybug for a day, on a bus, full of people, and she yells out some hypothetical names.

Literally anyone paying attention on that bus would have known. Lucky for us, MLB Parisians are hero blind. (Think Clark Kent and superman)

As he should be, chat is pissed the freak off as soon as he sees Scarabella ( which I must admit I love the name of) , and as he's been watching her for a minute, he pretty much goes straight in to fuck her up and literally tried to cataclysm her.

I do appreciate him not taking anymore chances with ladybug lookalikes (sentimonsters, byproducts of an akuma) but also holyshit he literally threw her into a brick chimney.

Their dynamic as soon as chat accepts that Scarabella is not a sentimonster/ akuma, is so big brother/little sister and I love it.

SB literally has Chat wrapped around her finger and is like see, I would just take your miraculous if I was evil, and when chats like yeah okay his response was well, if you're a good guy you gotta get a better name cause that one blows.

Also, Marinette texting ✨tips✨ to Alya on the train like

❤️laugh at Chats jokes, even if they aren't funny, it makes him happy❤️

❤️tell chat how cool he is an awesome partner❤️

-oh yeah don't forget to yell miraculous ladybug I guess whatever

❤️chat loves crossiants❤️

I love how Mari is leaning into her feelings for Chat instead of blatantly ignoring they're there.

Alya does work well with Chat, and she did manage a solid ladybug run, but I wouldn't put it to her again.

The ladynoir moment at the end is what I've been hoping for, for them to genuinely talk about the scary reality of their jobs and possibly not knowing either one in the future or not being able to find each other, and also the fact that she revealed her identity to someone else and he understood.

Kitty, I'll never abandon you.

Absolute in love noone can change my mind.

But the devil works hard and astruc works harder, as the next episode Nino crudely dumps on adrien his secret identity and Alyas because hey what the hell, ladybug let us know each others, that means I can also tell my bestie right?cool.

Adrien is, understandably angry, not only because hello secret identity?? But also that Nino and Alya knew each others identities and that ladybug allowed it, leading him to mutter to himself at the end of the episode and instead of talking to LB about it, he fucks off. Same with sentibubbler, when it's now a "two person plan but he's not in it" and he destroys a chimney and is like eh whatever ittl get fixed.

You know mlady, I thought this was the end of Chat Noir

Everyone has doubts sometimes, even me.

Chat salt is salty and the lack of respect for Marinette is staggering. Shes so lost in trying to do everything for everyone and never thinks about herself, and when someone else does, they're overbearing and make her feel bad for their misguidence.

OK SO ,

1 . it was rly guud i loved the ruube goldberg aspect and ofc im happy w the remus content

2 . LOGAN fuucking logan now were talking abt the theory/my interpretation stuuff , this is all juust my opinion so if uu disagree thats ok ofc !

ok lets start with a hot take ; i do not think logan gets ignored any more than the other sides do , and he ignores the other sides too . even in the actual episode we can see logan getting listened to . thomas does some chores , thomas does the puzzle and coloring , thomas does what he is told . he listens to logans ideas even if hes not happy with them . thomas listens to logan for the majority of this episode . (and the part where he doesnt listen will be talked abt in a second)

so if logan is getting listened 2 duuring this episode , why did he freak ouut like that ? bc thomas was being ignored ! part of his anger , and the reason it came ouut so aggressively , is becauuse of thomas’s cuurrent situuation . the entire episode hes being “ignored” by nico , who in reality was at work / sleeping , buut thats hard 2 consider when uur anxious . so thomas is fruustrated and uupset to the point of intruusive thouughts . right before he snaps it cuuts to thomas looking at his texts , and im not the best at reading emotions buut that looked like anger to me . anger at himself and maybe at nico . thomas’s anger came ouut throuugh logan .

the “who do youu really want to scream that at” is most likely talking abt nico . nobody else rly makes sense imo . thomas has been listening to logan all day so it wouuldnt rly make sense if it was him .

when thomas stops listening , i absolutely think thomas was fine . he juust solved the root of his intruusive thouughts , and now has a great distraction for if they come back ! this is a great opportunity for him , why wouuld he want to stay and do chores instead of hang ouut with nico ? like seriously , youud do the same . i dont get why people are uupset at him for this .

the muusic in the backgrouund says “stop trying to ruule the world” as thomas leaves and logan looks arouund . this is a pretty clear indication that logan is being a lil overbearing , i cant really tell what his reaction to this is , hes either uupset abt work not being done or realizing hes not going abt schedules right . im hoping for the latter . schedules like that dont work for everyone , and they clearly dont work for thomas .

in the endcard logan complains abt “apollo” not having influuence , which made me think apollo wouuld be god of eduucation or smthn and logans complaining , buut no ? apollo is god of (copied from google) ; “archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the Sun and light, poetry, and more” . the truuth part definitely sticks ouut , maybe hes implying januus did smthn ? im not really suure , buut if hes talking abt himself he shuud shuut uup coz he was listened to almost all day lol .

also of couurse i have to mention virgil sassing patton w the “thank goodness youure giving him permission” , its a reference back to when patton was “giving permission” to thomas to have bad thouughts sometimes , which is obviously pretty shitty , remuus doesnt need permission to exist , nor does thomas need permission to be imperfect . and virgil is actuually calling it ouut which i am v happy abt

also also the “stay connected” muural , it has all the colors of the sides , and some advice theyre definitely going 2 need considering januus is doing whatever the fuuck they did , and the ‘dynamic duuo’ is falling apart apparently . and its been said already , buut thomas is standing in front of the ‘o’ which cuuld be for orange !

Sorry if you've ever been asked this before but if you had to rank your top 10 favorite fe3h characters (including anyone, not just students) who would you choose?

I have not been asked this before because no one has tried to be so cruel. Do you have ANY idea how hard these kinds of lists are for me?! FINE I’LL TRY. These will not be in order, they’re just my general top 10. To keep things simple, I won’t count the House leaders (of course I love them all), Jeralt (if you don’t like Dad you don’t like me), or either Byleth. Read set go:

Sylvain-- If you’ve talked to me for more than five minutes idk how this is a surprise. He’s... he’s a very good boy. I love him. Give him all the happiness (and more A supports, but I’ve already covered that).

Dorothea-- My Wife. Fellow singer. I want to hug her and tell her she is loved. Her supports are fun to watch and she’s a great unit overall. Though she is an effortless Dancer, I love making her a Gremory. Such a pretty outfit, and she can kill anyone who looks at her.

Hubert-- I thought I liked him a normal amount but almost every fic idea I’ve had recently includes him and I’ve had to come to terms with that fact that I just love Hubert. He’s great to write and to read. And Robbie Daymond does amazing work with his voice.

Leonie-- No one kill me, I love her a lot. She’s all I would want in a sister. She’s badass and could teach me how to fight, and she’s handled nobles with ease lol Plus she’s a solid unit; I’ve had her for everyone run since day 1.

Alois-- Daaaaaaad! Dad 2.0, whatever, point is I like him a lot. I love his relationship with Jeralt and his B and A support with Byleth. When he first popped up I thought he was going to be an annoying dope. But he’s so loyal to his little family, to Byleth and Jeralt, even to the Church on certain routes. Overall he’s a great guy. He’s never my strongest unit but his supports are too cute (like Bernadetta’s omg I love those) to pass up.

Shamir-- Again, great voice acting. Plus she could would and should kick my ass. All her supports are interesting or fun to watch; and all very different depending on the student. In Dedue’s she’s just content to be silent, with Caspar she fights at his side, and she outright proposes in Catherine’s. A versatile character and a lifesaving unit on my first playthrough.

Ferdinand-- Not to just list all the Black Eagles but I need to make sure I include him. He’s another one I find easy to write. Most of his endings are just the softest things, I’m glad he has so many chances for happiness. I can’t not mention his hair so I will; I love his post skip design.

Marianne-- Her A support with Byleth made me cry the first time I saw it and I still get emotional watching it. She has inspiriting character growth and makes for a strong healer in-game. Another one that deserves more happiness. Though I have a rarepair I usually match her with, she has lots of people that she could be very happy with on her endcards <3

Seteth-- Given how upset I was when I did Silver Snow as Male Byleth and realized I had locked myself from S supporting him, I figure he should be on this list. His S support made me so emotional, I’m such a sap lol. He’s a good unit (and I’m terrible with flying units so that’s saying something) and I enjoy his role in the non-CF routes. Raise a glass to the husband I never got.

Mercedes-- I’ve stated it in tags before but I didn’t like her at first due to her voice. When I finally did a Blue Lions run and learned more about her, I became a fan instantly. She’s so kind and loves baking and has great Faith spells and if you don’t like her post-skip short hair you can turn back now bc I love it. Her supports with Sylvain are some of my favorites in the whole game.

Miracle Queen

At long last, my late Miracle Queen analysis is here....I apologize for the wait, this would have been out yesterday but unfortunately I realized I had places to be.

As usual, spoilers are below

Marinette and Luka

DId anyone else take Marinette asking Luka about that “perfect tune” as a different take on asking someone out? Because she asked about it, but then Luka didn’t play it because she was still thinking about Adrien. Then at the end of the episode, he ass “Are you sure you want to hear it” after she was done thinking about what Master Fu said about life not always giving you what you want or expect but it not necessarily being a bad thing.

Low-key I interpreted the end of Miracle Queen being the start of a Lukanette relationship.

And he pulled a Chat Noir here.

“No!” for once when Adrien doesn’t want someone’s advances they actually stop. Kagami respect.

“I mean, yes!” This boy is so confused... I mean, clearly he likes Kagami. He could probably see himself being in a sucessful relationship with her but he’s so confused by his feelings for Ladybug, these surfacing feelings for Kagami and his repressed feelings for Marinette...poor kid.

“Your indecision is hurtful, Adrien” I like that she’s not pushing him, but letting him know that he needs to gather himself soon.

“For a moment there, I thought you only had to wear glasses to get a miraculous”

Hawkmoth and Mayura: Well....

“Dont know this one, he’s cute, but he gets his clothes from a dumpstser” Luka X Chloe has been canonically shot down.

Okay so...now Hawkmoth knows the identies of ALL the miraculous wearers outside of Ladybug and Chat Noir...what now? I mean, these all have to be people Ladybug knows and trusts right?- Hawkmoth now knows all their identities, so, he can find out what they have in common.

They all go to the same school. If he found that out, he could narrow it down to have Ladybug be going to their school as well.

Then, he could find out WHO they all have in common. Most of them are class mates, so it’s likely someone in THEIR class, but what about Kagami and Luka? The classmates all have relationships with their fellow classmates in common, but Kagami and Luka? Who do they have in common with the class?

Marinette and Adrien. If it weren’t for Kagami, Juleka. So this is actually kinda dangerous for Marinette if Gabriel and Nathalie followed that line of thinking.

I don’t know I just get the feeling this scared him.She completely rag-dolled like on some of those video games, and his instinct wasn’t to just catch her either, no, it was to just completely wrap her up in his arms like a burrito.

Then he’s asking her forgiveness, like...he knows he’s in the wrong letting her use it even if she is willing to help him or not. But he can’t do it without her.

“Don’t blame yourself. From the very first day, I knew that I’d do anything for you.”

So basically what happened was, she was quite fond of Gabriel and loved his family before all of this. But as soon as he told her he was going supervillain, she got smacked in the face with something more because she got to see how much he was willing to do to keep his family intact.

And he pulls her closer

And then just absolutely melts into her hand

And I am here for it.

I love them and they love each other.

She’s so pretty. Now, that aside- she brought back Hawkmoth’s sentimonster. Is it a new one or the same one? It certainly looks the same...but what emotion has it been created from, exactly? Does that matter when reviving a sentimonster, assuming it’s supposed to be the same one? Or is it completely different aside from appearance? Her eyes are pretty in these shots.

I am in no way attracted to Gabriel but when we get shots like this I can kinda understand why Nathalie would be.

This positive reinforcement...absolutely wonderful. She already had a breakdown and was on the verge of another. Chat kept that from happening and did his job as her kitty to keep her grounded and focused. They’re starting to see each other in different lights, her opening up to him so much emotionally like that proves that no matter what they’ll always have an unbreakable bond. They’re literally each other’s pillar of support.

“Littlebug” I love it. Imagine if that’s what he calls his future daughter assuming they get together in the future? Adorable.

“No, its to dangerous! To many powers at the same time”- Master Fu has obviously been teaching Chat Noir too. He’s been getting all the info Ladybug has it seems, just from that line. I like that detail.

Sometimes I like to imagine Gabriel or Nathalie in place of Hawkmoth and Mayura and this started cracking me up because it reminded me of Simon Says. Flutter flutter. Flap flap.

Who knew snakes liked cheese?

Cutie. And I like how the second time Adrien got the snake miraculous, he was actually able to wield it as necessary because he wasn’t trying to impress Ladybug,

Okay so, I like how in this shot they didn’t have him breathing or talking and all the noise seemed to kinda stop. It’s realistic and I like that attention to detail.

Gabriel, honey...ily but you’re dumb. Ladybug is right there, her purifying that akuma before it even reaches it’s target was predictable.

Also when Chloe opened up there, and Ladybug’s face as she realized exactly what all of this was about- I think it hurt both of them. But Ladybug’s already explained herself. Chloe should have known that if she wanted her miraculous back from Ladybug it wasn’t going to be easy. She already told her so...yeah I understand though. She’s just hurt and let it get the best of her. Girl needs to get her emotions in check.

Sometimes you an really Tell Gabriel lives in the present without thinking much about the consequences of certain things. He looks so freaking happy about Chloe being so adamantly against Ladybug now and wearing all the miraculous, but how is she going to know what to say to transform before Ladybug gets the miraculous away from her? I understand the excitement of a new ally but “I don’t even need to do anything” Idk if you really want her to be able to use all the miraculous and potentially lose her mind as implied from Kwami Buster you might want to distract Ladybug and Chat so she can figure out the right transformation words.

“Checkmate, Ladybug!” I have little to say except I love it when villains say “checkmate” during battle. 10/10 dialogue.

He evil laughs so much in this sequence. I wonder if he’s practiced it? Has Nathalie ever walked in on him practicing his evil laugh in the mirror? and this...

Don’t say checkmate until the opponent has no more pawns to move, And the reactiosn the kwamis have? How many masters have they grown to love and admire that they lost just like that? Also I recall someone saying that this thing has a plot hole in it, but I think that Master Fu really was the true guardian of this particular box just from the backstory he has, he was given the miraculous box and grimoir by another master to protect. So he was in a way established as guardian of that box and so I see no reason why he shouldn’t be able to hand ownership over to anyone of his choice.

“Hawkmoth! Tell them to give me my box back!” Did anyone else find that hilarious? Like a spoiled child running to a father who has the backbone of a chocolate eclair.

Except in this case he has the backbone of like...a steel rod.

And then he just goes to scoop up Mayura.

“How disappointing...”

I like Mayura’s face here too. “Oh, he’s picking me up? Alright, okay I guess so, that’s fine.”

I literally slow down the playback scenes to watch these scenes go slower. It looks like their heads are touching.

That’s a whole mood. Me too.

“Im going to New York with Mommy!” Chloe you’re a comedian.

Wow, she really looks like she’s hurting.

“Oh my Nathalie...”

There’s not even a comma, he called her his.

“There are no words to express how sorry I am”

“No, not for nothing” she still remains the optimistic one. She’s comforting him when she’s the one in need. He obviously thinks she should be upset with him but she just continues telling him its okay. All she cares about is making sure he’s happy and doesn’t want him to blame himself for her choices. Gabriel get this woman a ring.

“Goodbye....Master”

I feel so bad for these kwamis. How long does it take before they break after watching everyone they love eventually just die? Have any of them ever emotionally distanced themselves from mortals to avoid the heartbreak when they inevitably lose them? And without Wayzz how long does Master Fu have left being almost 200 years old?

Chloe is really putting on her clown wig in this episode. Mommy is staying in Paris so she can’t go to New York now. Karma, am I right?

“Even if like doesn’t give us the gifts we were hoping for, the true gift is life itself”....And that’s why I think Lukanette is basically canon by the end of the episode. Master Fu’s words play out in her head as she sits next to Luka and she’s not stuttering around Adrien. Her ice cream changes, and I just can’t help but feel like the whole melody thing was symbolic of her accepting Luka’s love and deciding to move on.

They can finally be together...

“Thank you young lady, I will never forget you” if only he knew...

And the way it ended, the endcard...it was all just very sweet and fitting. I do hope Marinette and Adrien will be together by the time Miraculous ends (it’s obviously endgame) but them developing a strong, loving friendship that isn’t plagued with stuttering and stalking is going to be crucial for them to really have a chance at making it. Adrien and Kagami and Luka and Marinette do make sense as couples as we get to know Kagami and Luka more. Still though, I do hope that Adrien and Marinette find each other in the end. There’s to much symbolism pointing to them being (as much as I hate the term) soul mates for them not to.

And for the record, same with Gabenath imo. Gabriel IS losing his certainties, after all...

Thoughts on Bendy, Chapter 5

A bit obvious, but

*****SPOILERS AHEAD!*****

If you haven’t seen/played chapter five, this will ruin it for you. Avert your eyes! XD

Okay. So, I started typing this over in the comments on Seán’s video, but I realized things as I was typing, so I’m putting down here instead.

I keep seeing a lot of comments along the lines of “the ending is unclear” and “I don’t get it” and “the ending was so unsatisfying”, but I think you guys are looking at this in all the wrong ways. Take a minute to reflect back on everything that has happened, hear me out, and maybe you’ll think of it in a different light.

Joey orchestrated the whole ordeal. Joey wrote it. Well, he drew it, actually. We saw the pictures he drew on his desk in his apartment. He had the entire story of BATIM storyboarded out there. He knew what was going to happen, and even said he was expecting Henry at a specific time- an hour later than it actually took Henry to get back- knowing that Henry would arrive. (EDIT: This is why Henry doesn’t stay dead when Bendy or one of the other monsters kills him, because that isn’t the ending Joey wrote for Henry. Henry crawls back to life through the Fallopian tube of ink because Joey has written him as the winner.)

That means that Joey is the one who wrote all of the glowing text on the walls. Stay with me here:

Alice hands Henry a magic piece of glass after a couple of scenes that are broken up by sleep cycles. She calls it glass, but I don’t think that’s what it is. I think it’s acetate.

Acetate is a special plastic used by traditional animators to add layers on top of a scene. That way, the background could remain the same while the characters did their thing on a completely separate layer. It meant less work for the animators, too, as they didn’t have to redraw the background for every frame.

Did you catch that? Acetate was used to add layers. It makes sense that it would reveal the hidden messages in this cartoon-based world.

When Henry looks through the glass, what was the first glowing text Henry saw?

“She will leave you for dead.”

And what did Alice and Tom do? Leave him behind to escape Bendy. Predicted. Scripted. Predestined. Joey had it all right there on his desk at home.

And Henry discovers even more hidden messages inside his little “cell” (appropriate name for it, too, considering a frame of animation is literally called a Cel [short for cellulose acetate]). The glowing text complimented Henry’s drawings on the floor. Drawings that weren’t there when Henry arrived, inside an enclosed area that Henry had to literally break out of with a big old pipe. The only way to get in and out of there besides breaking the boards would be to walk through the walls. And what does Bendy do in phase one of the boss fight? Run through the walls.

But if Bendy is the only character who can phase through the walls, then how would Joey-?

Because Joey created Bendy. He made Bendy in his own image. The Jesus to his God, and Bendy can be influenced by his creator, but not controlled for long periods of time. It makes sense when you think about it.

In the flashback, Joey is standing in the kitchen. There’s a wheelchair very close by, and when he turns away from the sink to address Henry, he visibly limps to the opposite counter.

Bendy walks with a significant limp.

And haven’t we seen a wheelchair before in a previous chapter? I’m almost certain we have, although I can’t place exactly when or where in my mind.

Furthermore, there is an ink machine in Joey’s apartment in the final scene. And it’s running. We can hear it glugging along as we look at the picture on the wall. It’s active and in his apartment. It kind of reminds me of when older people need machines at home to keep them alive. Oxygen tanks, IV bags, etc. They are connected to them.

Joey and Bendy are actively linked through the ink and the ink machine.

SO- They are linked and Joey can influence Bendy to walk through walls and write the messages for Henry made out of ink...but it isn’t ink. It’s something more than ink, but it comes from the ink. Whenever Henry looked through the glass, there were glowing orbs rising from the ink streams.

And since the ink is linked to Bendy who is linked to Joey, the golden ink must come directly from Joey. Almost as if it is pure creativity, untainted by greed. Or looking back on a memory with different eyes. Older and wiser eyes. It indicates Alice as an angel, even though she claims she isn’t one.

So the final question is why? Why make Henry go through all of this? Why not face his demon (literally) and beat Bendy by himself?

He’s too old. Joey couldn’t physically haul his own body down into the depths, wading through ink and falling through the floors. It would kill him. That and his creations are pretty pissed at him all the time. They would attack him and he wouldn’t have been able to defend himself. He’s an old man at the end of his life.

Henry is a good friend of his. Why else would he ask him to come over? To go down there? Henry was the one who had written the message we see on the picture in the final cut scene.

He trusted Henry to do it, because Henry was strong enough to make his own happiness in life, rather than letting the business consume him and beat him down. Joey admits to letting the cartoons become his life.

Read that again: he says “I let them become my life.”

That gets to the core of this story.

It isn’t just that Joey created Bendy and the ink monsters. Not even that he created Bendy in his own image. They exist because Joey literally gave them life- part of his own. The people who worked there fuel their ink monster-personas with their own lives, too. They were too weak to escape the ink. To escape the failing business. But there are so many more monsters than there were employees.

Because each one of them has a piece of Joey’s actual life force in them.

The glowing text... the golden orbs that rose from the ink... that’s Joey.

It’s all linked back to him. And the hell that exists down in the old studio will not cease to be until Joey dies...which is not far off, from the look of him.

The only wrench in the machine was Bendy. Bendy has a mind of his own. As one of the other characters put it: an otherworldly quality. If Joey dies and Bendy is still alive, the cartoon world will continue on without him. So, Joey asking Henry to go down there to beat Bendy was Joey accepting that his time is short and he’s going to die. He’s at peace with that.

And Bendy’s death is no cop-out. He’s a cartoon. How do cartoons end? With a “The End!” endcard. As Porky Pig said: That’s all, Folks!

When an animation ends, the characters don’t come back and have more adventures until their creators draw them doing new things. Take the Animaniacs, for example- there was a final episode for them. (Yes, I realize the series is getting a reboot, but they aren’t back yet, so this example works.) They ceased to be when the final episode finished. Sure, we remember them and watch reruns, but nothing new was created. They effectively died with that episode.

Showing the endcard to Bendy was the most cartoon-logical way to end his existence. It followed the rules of the cartoon world in which he existed.

And my last little side note:

I think the girl’s voice we hear in the final cut scene is Henry’s daughter. She calls him “Uncle Joey”, which is definitely what some families have their children do to address extremely close family friends. (I had an Uncle Pete who wasn’t related to our family at all, but was one of my dad’s closest friends.) And when Joey says that Henry chose the path that gave him a wonderful family, he gestures to the left, to the living room, which is where we hear her voice coming from in the cut scene.

She says “Tell me another one, Uncle Joey.” Tell me another story. Maybe Joey was telling her the story that Henry was living out in the studio below. We may never know for sure.

Thoughts? Anything else to add? All in all, chapter five was a great way to wrap up the story. And I really freaking enjoyed it! All that’s left to see now is if there’s anything in the extras, any extra lore in the hidden messages that you’ll be able to see once unlocking the glass after chapter five, or if the version they released to everyone else is any different from the Jacksepticeye edition. Keep your eyes peeled, everybody!

Agent H’s ML Rewatch

Princess Fragrance. (1x04)

Overall Thoughts:

-What is this production order?? Seriously, in every suggested rewatch order I’ve seen, it’s always had Stormy Weather, CopyCat, Pharaoh, and Lady Wifi much earlier in the season because they’re good exposition and stuff like Princess Fragrance much later. *sigh* They’re just messing with me, and production order in season 1 is totally meaningless, isn’t it? @me you should’ve just done release order.

-Ooh, love the rain effects.

-This episode has less character emoting than Evillustrator which I think only makes the lower animation quality stand out more. To be clear, I'm (almost) never gonna disrespect Miraculous’ animation because animation, especially under tight money/time constraints, is extremely difficult and this show’s animation is great considering how much they have to do; I’m just pointing out that there are episodes that are quite seamless and episodes that...aren’t

-I love that 360 camera of the classroom, and how Marinette and Adrien are missing and Ivan’s asleep. Also, lab safety is very important, guys, don’t bring flammables into a lab.

-”Are you a friend of Chloe’s?” “Yes, I’m a friend of Chloe’s! We’re BFFS” “Aha! Chloe doesn’t have any friends!” Just everything about the doorman plus Chloe running away from the pizza is comedy gold, guys.

-Adrien’s “done with Plagg” face lol.

-THE BOWL HELMETS

-I’m cracking up at the level of ridiculousness at Master Fu’s. The way he heals her, Marinette’s cat story, the fact that Master Fu knows the truth and instead of being a homie and telling her, he’s just like “aight, your cat’s healed now”, and then Tikki flying up to Marinette very much not like, you know, a cat. The level of bullshit is so high in this scene and I am enjoying every second of it

-Princess Fragrance really out here getting married to Prince Ali at 13 years old. But I mean, like what 13 year old wouldn’t do something like this given the chance

-Chloe deserved to run into that pole #sorrynotsorry

-That pole swing move with the 360 camera, like, man, we as a fandom do not appreciate the camera work nearly enough in this show

-Chat Noir licking himself clean... I’m just gonna leave that there

Villain (Reason, design, power, difficulty, etc):

-I love what this episode does, but I hate the villain?? and I don’t know why??? I think it’s the awkward singing. Speaking of, singing wasn’t even like an established part of Rose’s character in the episode, so why was is it included???

-Reasoning for akumatization: Chloe being a bully=6/10

-I mean, like Princess Fragrance’s costume isn’t bad, but I’m just not personally fond of it? 5/10

-Her powers are so weird?? Like the perfume mind-control I get, and that’s a great power. But the singing?? This is just to let us hear Benjamin Bollen sing isn’t it. idk, 8/10 for the perfume mind control, 5/10 for like everything else

Powers/Miraculous (skill/usage, plan, design, etc):

-Her power works by air dispersal, so that’s hard to beat. Although, Ladybug’s plan is to blow it up?? I ... just... that doesn’t sound right, but I don’t know enough about chemistry to dispute it. (?/10)

-I like the use of the balloon, so I’ll give them that. 7/10

Character Moments:

-Aw, Rose being too sweet for this world (She literally has wings on the back of her dress??). Anyway, Rose is bisexual, Julekarose 4ever, and also, Juleka giving her adoring looks while handing her tissues

-I adore Prince Ali even though we only hear about him like twice after this. He’s the sweetest little cinnamon roll and I will adopt him

-Chloe is a selfish bully, but in context of who she is it’s interesting that she craves the attention of the wealthy, high class Prince Ali, demands his attention away from others, and puts in the bare minimal effort to earnestly achieve it (i.e. giving him a small toy she picked up off the street). It’s like the attention she craves of the high class is equivalent to the lack of attention from her mother; she’s jealous for attention, but she doesn’t put in the effort for it maybe because she doesn’t know how and/or she’s afraid to fail if she tries.

-Marinette and Tikki are friendship goals. And I love Tikki’s laid back pose while they’re talking by the river.

Lovesquare Moments (who and how much I fangirled):

-Ladynoir: Chat Noir tries to put an arm around her shoulders, and she refuses (JUST YOU WAIT, LADYBUG)

-Adrienete: “You two really are made for each other. Neither of you can make it to school on time.” THE IRONY. Also, why did Adrien get there so much later than Marinette?

-Anyway, he catches her and “Woah, You okay? Nothing broken?” and let me tell you this one time they touched SUSTAINED me until well into season 2. IT’S BEAUTIFUL. 12/10

-Ladybug vs Chat Noir!! I know everyone else hates when this happens, but I’m pretty much always entertained because they’re equal power/skill-wise and he’s like the only one who could really go head to head with her. Ladybug is literally at the center of this spectrum (and I await the day she refuses to fight him because she loves him too much <3). In the meantime, here she yeets him into the river 6.5/10

Developments in Overarching Story:

-Heyo, it’s the beginning of Marinette’s helmet disguises! I love how it works every time

-Oh, I forgot how much I loved seeing Marinette be a badass sans superpowers this episode! This was such a great showcase for how Ladybug is only great because it’s Marinette’s creativity and problem-solving behind the mask

-Kwamis are subject to things like colds. I wonder if we’ll see more stuff like this.

-MASTER FU!!!!! I totally forgot this was the episode we first meet him. And there’s a close up of the turtle bracelet!!!

-”Ancient Chinese secret. Just like yours.” So much information in this line, guys

Lesson for Kids:

-I wanna get rid of this category, but there is finally a lesson in this episode

-Don’t put off your responsibilities/get distracted, especially when there’s someone relying on you to take care of something!

Endcard:

-Hahahaha, Chloe in flames in the endcard

-Happy endings for Ali and Rose and Marinette and Tikki

-Master Fu! Foreshadowing he’s important and will be back!
