steddie 💗
💗 Slow Kiss / Gentle Kiss / Inevitable / Soft
(Ahh thank you for the practice! I hope you enjoy 😊)
Steve wakes slowly, registering the feeling of warm sunlight on his face and Eddie pressed along the line of his back. He's holding Steve still, neither have moved since the night before, a novelty when it comes to Eddie.
He feels the arms around his chest tighten slightly, one hand traces down to squeeze Steve's hip as lips caress the back of his neck.
"Good morning," Eddie says softly in his ear.
Steve rolls onto his back as Eddie lifts himself up onto his elbow. There are pillow creases on his face and residual sleep in the corners of his eyes, but he's beautiful.
"Morning," Steve breathes out, reaching up to brush a wayward curl behind Eddie's ear, "you stayed".
Steve winces, acknowledging the unspoken thing was the fastest way to having it all disappear in his experience, and Eddie would be the first person to tell you he was a runner. It would only be a matter of time now until he left, thanking Steve for the experience, telling him they'd have to do it again sometime, and that would be that.
Because that was how it always went.
Right?
Instead, Eddie smiles gently, a small sad frown gathers between his eyes as he looks at Steve.
"Of course I did, sunshine," he says, leaning down to press his lips to Steve's own.
It's unhurried, lacking the fervor of the night before, the clash of teeth and tongue and bruising grip as though he would disappear.
Eddie breathes out through his nose and tilts his head, lifting his free hand to cup Steve's jaw as he brushes their lips together again and again.
Steve tries to speed things up, to open his mouth, to bring things back to where they had been mere hours ago only for Eddie to pull back and pepper his face with more soft kisses.
His eye lids, the tip of Steve's nose, his cheekbones, his chin.
Steve feels something dangerous bloom in his chest as Eddie lifts himself up again to look down at him.
Something he hasn't let himself hope for since Nancy.
But as Eddie dips down to nuzzle his nose into Steve's until they're both giggling in the morning sun, Steve can't help but feel that maybe this time things would be different.
Maybe this time, he would hope.

Rope Techniques ~ Tying without a partner
Here are a couple of tactics I have utilized in practicing shibari when I'm not able to work with a partner
First: Here's how I added "elbows" to my plastic mannequin to enable her to be placed into a gote or box position
The arms of my mannequin disconnect at the shoulders, so I started by removing them and then sawed them apart at the elbow
Next, I stuffed both open ends of the plastic arm halves with foam pool noodles I had on hand
I connected the stuffed arms by running bent lengths of wire hangers into the pool foam to act as a semi-adjustable joint
Finally, I wrapped and secured both new joints with a length of ace bandage and some duct tape - I dress my mannequin in a body suit so the rope has something to grip; the plastic mannequin skin lacks the toothsomeness of human flesh
Second: a simpler and very similar effect can be achieved for gote/tk practice without a mannequin. You can throw a hoodie over a full-backed chair, such as a kitchen chair, and stuff a rolled towel inside the joined arms of the hoodie as pictured below:
Sometimes we cannot tie with a partner. These pictures were taken during the COVID lockdowns, for example.
And while these inanimate accommodations cannot take the place of partnered learning, they have helped me to advance my understanding of patterns and builds and rope handling along the way and I hope they may be of use to some of you too!
*This is the mannequin I modified above which was gifted to me by my SO*

I haven’t done art in a long time, but after reading @llamagoddessofficial new fiction Tilikum I wanted to give a go at drawing this scene! Colouring is super hard and I am no master at it, I feel like I made this too dark, plus I may have made Skull too big? Ahh I don’t know! Anyways please accept this offering, hope it’s okay! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
Below is the line art! (I may have forgotten to draw his right arm and I only noticed when colouring and face palmed so hard, so ah, lets pretend we don’t see that or he is a amputee... Plus the mouth was hard to draw, sorry...) ^^;;

'And then I jumped into the air, and took a bow for you'
A forward folded intention:
I've been playing with calf lacings and dealing with thee transitions I need to be making in my life instead of thee ones I was offering up in their stead; physical contortion in lieu of trauma- processing, physical contortion in lieu of strengthening, physical contortion in lieu of finding my words. This year I discover again for thee first tiem that thee obverse of living is fear, and I will knot to let fear keep me a silent contortion.
And I love you like in the songs ❤️

Where I started today and where I ended. I have drawn a lot of eyes today and it was so worth it. Also: I’ve got enough control now that I can sketch — something that was totally impossible when I started!
[ID: two drawn eyes. The first is very wonky with bad shading and continuous lines that don’t join up. The second isn’t perfect but it is much better, it is sketched with small lines and is less wonky / end ID]

Found a big empty space on one of my sketchbook pages, so here's a quick attempt to put something there. Tried to push with posing a bit and oof, I felt like I was green at art all over again.
Time to add Persephone profile angles to the to do list because I don't think I've ever really drawn a side profile of her that was meant to actually look like her more than a basic sketch.
