Madrid’s Cine Doré

Cine Doré is a cinema originally built as a cultural hall in 1912 before being repurposed into a cinema a decade later by architect Críspulo Moro Cabeza, with additional interior design work by Manuel López-Mora in 1924. The cinema fell into disuse in the 1960s, but was exhaustively restored and reopened for films in 1989 by Filmoteca Española.

The cinema can be seen above in Warrior Nun, Pain and Glory, Talk to Her, and the music video C. Tangana & Omar Apollo: Te Olvidaste.

Lolbit was designed by Michael Afton as a teenager to be a member of Foxy’s crew, but, unlike their captain, wasn’t used by the company. She went through multiple design iterations over the years before Fazbear Entertainment- under new ownership- purchased the character. They appeared in various media created by the companies- primarily comics and games- but still never appeared as an animatronic within any location. 

Rather than his initial concept as a member of Foxy’s crew, Lolbit appeared as an antagonist in early media, usually rivaling Foxy, and later in a more neutral role as a travelling merchant, happy to sell their mechanical creations to friend and foe of the Fazbear band alike. The character is immensely popular among fans of the franchise, leading some to believe an animatronic debut is bound to happen eventually. Only time will tell.

#im going thru old flipnotes i used to watch years ago and ouggghhg so many good ones #is twenty one pilots still popular.... do people still remember the TRNDSTTER and marble soda meme......... #its like im unlocking some sort of primal part of my brain and everything is coming back to me. one of my biggest inspirations as a kid #i still remember thinking the final transmission lyrics were the coolest thing and watching =TopHat= Bee and Melissa over and over #theres a very specific feeling of longing and nostalgia looking back and watching these again years later #especially when there isnt anything genshin or mcyt and instead its either fnaf undertale eddsworld or another obscure #interest... and not even fnaf sister location its like fnaf 3 and 2. its THAT old. and a lot of oc MVs especially pokemon ocs and furries.. #god but they were so creative u know. i still find it amazing ppl took this little lightbox animation on the fucking NINTENDO DS and #cranked it all the way to 11.. like if u look at the transitions and movement its so fucking fluid its insane..!! #its so weird. i feel like march 5th went on for more than a day somehow. i guess that's just bc we were awake for just abt all of it #my dad wanted to start doing things immediately so he was calling and scheduling all day. we went to the funeral home we went to the store #and it was weird bc as we were moving around it was like wow we r a 4 person family now. this is it. and theres so much to do after a person #dies. or at least there is when they were loved so much and jesus christ my mom was one of the best ppl a LOT of ppl knew. she did so much #for so so many ppl. and with her childhood she had every reason to b a fuck up but no she was kind and selfless and amazing. her mother is #trying to bask in the attention of her death when its like: truely go fuck urself. her being such a good person has nothing to do with u. u #treated her appallingly. fuck off. and fucking everyone knows it. god. she is a product of her grandparents kindness. and it sounds like her #dad was amazing like her. but he tragically died in a car wreck when she was 3. she was in the car. no one in my mums family believes in a #god now. too many bad things happened to the shining gems in a collection of wild alcoholics. but its not all bad. my family's staying close #my dad is taking it hard bc this means hes alone now and my mum took care of so many things bc she was so smart and he feels so dumb. he #feels he didnt deserve her. hes working on giving more hugs now. and hes using us to anxiously talk things out the way he did with mom #which is good. i cant imagine if this happened when we werent 3 adults and he was windowed with 3 kids to raise himself. and its funny. were #saying things we never would have told her. we looked thru pictures of her and she was so so beautiful. a total smoke show. my parents were #a cute couple who produced cute kids. and my mom had trouble communicating and being affectionate tho we knew she loved us there was #distance. theres a pic of my dad pulling her close and shes being tippef towarf her while standing away and thats indicitive of their #relationship. they were 2 partners who lived together independently and that worked but its sad bc my mum couldnt b vulnerable in her #expression. ppl r being so kind tho. ill be in ohio now for like 2.5 more weeks as the funeral stuff shakes out. we have to have 2 bc she #grew up away from her and so many ppl loved her in both locations. she was a popular lady. its so weird to b here on pause. but i feel clear #in my head. i think this will change a lot of my outlook on life. its nice to focus on the person she was and not the horrible 12hrs where i #saw her half dead. i cant imagine how awful it was for my sisters and dad to see her downslide into death. she didnt expect this to b The #Fever that killed her but it did and now she'll never finish a million things. and the house is full of pill bottles and all her junk and #unopened amazon packages and a truck with the fuel left on empty. bc she was an absent minded goofball. ay. well miss her so much #unrelated

Madrid’s Palace of Linares

The Palace of the Marquis of Linares was designed by Carlos Colubí, Adolf Ombrecht, and Manuel Aníbal Álvarez in 1877. The palace went disused after the Spanish Civil War but was eventually restored in 1992 when it became the headquarters for Casa de América.

The palace can be seen above in Line Walker 2: Invisible Spy and Warrior Nun.

I only watched a few episodes of the X-Files until recently so I'm getting to enjoy recognizing all the filming locations from living in the general area but it's like:

#x files #Mulder goes to a construction site and it's clearly GM Place (which is now called Roger's Arena) #Or just general background locations when they film outdoors #They really liked going to Steveston in season one #I guess Steveston just has ''smalltown America'' vibes because they used it for that on Stargate SG1 as well #Though Stargate did that pretty far into the series so they had US post boxes as decoration #the cannery is a pretty cool place to film though and the street lamps are unique so I can understand why it's popular #It's just funny because my earliest memory of Steveston is getting ice cream and going to a yarn store

also when i say this i mean absolutely no criticism of the poll i like it i think it’s fun but just speaking generally, i try not to see any writing idea or theory as controversial or unpopular because all of them are valid ways to approach writing if it’s suitable for your story. im saying this as someone who changed parts of their writing when i was younger because i thought i needed to shape my stories a certain way, don’t ever be afraid to experiment with second person or a prose style or whatever just because it’s not popular on tumblr or your writing group or your genre or even the market, or people say it’s difficult to “pull off”, all ways of approaching craft and writing can be done well (and even “done well” is not an objective measurement, so just follow what feels right for your writing) and can be suitable for a story, and as a writer you should always trust your intuition about what is best for you and your story

#also what is popular if we’re looking from a publishing pov can be so trend and marketing based #there’s a certain style of prose that I see a lot in newly published litfic for example #tropes are another example #I know The Market is unfortunately something to consider for some of us but I’m not gonna let it #have the final say on what I do or don’t write lol #some things too especially prose style can depend on location and language #again there is a certain style of prose that’s been popularised by Anglo and western centric writing
