The latest numbers coming from Gaza state that there are about 77,575 injured Palestinians as of April 28, 2024.

I honestly see this number as a very humble one, but regardless, I said this in 2014 and it bears repeating: considering the types of weapons Israel is using in Gaza, the overwhelming majority of these injuries are severe and critical. So when we say that well over 77,000 people are injured in Gaza, we're talking about tens of thousands of people who have ended up with a lifelong disability. Thousands of amputees with no proper care. Thousands who will not be able to walk or see again. Many won't be able to go back to school or work again. Burn victims without the means to reduce or take the pain away. Many on life support and many more who will not even make it.

So many open wounds, both literally and figuratively, that we need to keep present in our conversation about Gaza.

This bloodbath has gone on for far too long. At the start of this aggression, the school year had barely just started. The academic year ends in just a month. Everyone, from first graders to university seniors, have lost an entire year at least. I say at least considering even if there is a ceasefire today, Israel had destroyed literally all universities in Gaza and damaged over 400 schools. Lest we forget also Israel's deliberate targeting of university professors and academics.

You absolutely cannot mistake the intent behind all of this.

writing life hack of my life has been to save images on pinterest and reblog images on a tumblr blog of any random little Thing that reminds me of an oc like something i could see them owning and doing that for months with no attachment for the story until i suddenly need details like that and oh they’re all there. had to write a paragraph of things bobby had bought beau for his birthday and was like fuuuuck how do i even come up with something interesting and specific and do that more than once? then i remembered the Pinterest Board and i was like fuck yeah he’s getting beau the bloodshot eyeballs lamp i saved a year ago

i will say....i thought i would write more this month just because i would be working less after working overtime for two months + january i was getting used to my new job.....that simply did not happen because when i was resting i just wanted to do things that would take less energy than writing! and i wanted to write in the least energy consuming way which is just daydreaming in my head aka what i do every day of my life. but i really did think more days off = more time to write but do i actually have a commitment to writing? no! i have goals i would like to make but my ultimate goal at the moment is um survive and writing is always secondary to that. whilst i LOVE having a day job separate from writing im so serious it makes my life feel way more balanced (not associating something i love with what makes me money to live) it is also easy to fall into the trap of "okay when i am not at work i should be writing".... i think if u have a job or school or any kind of out of your control commitment like that you should neverrr force yourself to any schedule and assume that any days off should be spent writing when those days off should be for.... whatever will help you feel rested and fulfilled! which like yeah OBVIOUSLY but so many social media productivity content out there pushes the idea that you have to be go go go all the time and take advantage of your free time in the most efficient way. umm the most efficient thing you can do is look after yourself! sometimes that will be writing sometimes that will be phone in bed all day. but seriouslyyy you do not have to treat writing as a side hustle especially if it is actually just a hobby you do for fun! trying to remember this!

originally my goal for april was to hit 30k and im almost at 25k....which is still a fun and sexy milestone and i will definitely hit by the end of the month...i don't want to aim for 30k and write 5k in 2 days though unless that happens naturally so i'm just like okay can't wait to hit 25k tomorrow probably. trying to come up with a goal beyond that so i can have a little end of month writing burst that's Not 5000 Words so i'm just like ummmm....27k would be cool? i guess??

but anyway every time i have sat down to write i have written my "goal" (500 words a session, not set in stone just the ballpark for how much i usually write for this story each time) and i have loved every thing i wrote + nothing felt forced to meet a word count so like....that is all i would want really. there's probably only one thing i will cut and it's less cutting and more will work it into a different part of the book bc it's just exposition that should happen earlier. also i think i wrote 7k which is probably the most i've written in a month so far this year and this year has been busyyyy so yay !

i kinda keep having my characters specifically having polaroids rather than photographs and only after writing do i remember that polaroids are like a specific thing. i just think polaroids sounds sexier than photograph/photo
