Frankenstein Monster!Setsuna Tokage x Vampire!Fem!Reader Headcanons
Headcanons! Okay! Setsuna actually seems really nice! I’ll write for her! Hope you don’t mind, a bit short!
Frankenstein Monster! Tokage Setsuna
Tumblr media
Setsuna is confident that she understands vampires but she is so amazed by every new ability you use. She just hides it in favour to still seem like the acknowledge monster of her image
Setsuna clutches your hand just to snuggle it, you have more warmth then her and she simply thrives off. She may have more life but you feel like the sunshine compared to her and she hates being cold
Setsuna’s own limbs run off, out of her control, at times so you help her track them down. Her eyes glow with a lovestruck beam each time you take charge and point out where her hand has ran off to. She can’t believe you’re so kind to her and heart beats faster
Setsuna is protective in the sense of the sunlight. She can handle it, you can’t so the second she sees you in the sun, she is rushing to cover you. She loves you too much to let you disappear and she goes off at whoever pushed you in. It seems like a sisterly friendship to you but it’s genuine love on her side
Setsuna likes eating with you and has been eating with only you lately. You’re friendly and you don’t judge her for her frankenmonster traits. In-fact, you welcome with her big arms and she swears she’ll faint with how heavily blushing she is at your affection
Setsuna may or may not use her detachable limbs to get things for you to try impress you. You can’t find your bag? She’ll drop her hand and just watch as it delivers your bag to you. No matter what, she’ll find it so you praise her and express gratitude, and hopefully for her, fall in love with her
Setsuna is a chatty one and a bit possessive. She won’t let you feel lonely or unheard as she’ll happily talk to you for as long as you want. She loves the sound of your voice and the feel of your skin against hers
Setsuna, with pure bliss, helps you with your schoolwork as she definitely knows most subjects like the back of her hand. Her sweet little vampire queen won’t be struggling on her watch, she’ll make it her mission to tutor you until you understand everything you didn’t understand before
Setsuna likes setting up sleepovers for you and her on the weekends. Where you can do all kinds of girly things together and she can try sneak a kiss or two onto your cheek but fails. It’s okay, she has plenty of tricks to help her win you over
Setsuna becomes your closest friend, but she wants to be more than a friend. Everybody in Class 1-B see the way she looks at you and it’s painful for them with how oblivious are you to her obvious affections and overwhelming love

episode 11 of love live nijigasaki is the craziest shit ever what the fuck was that. ayumu you little rat (affectionate) PLEASE stop reminding me of romcom stuff. i was having flashbacks to the many romcoms i watched.
ok but to be serious, honestly the fact i can understand both of their povs is the worst. none of them are in the wrong, yu didn't want to tell ayumu her dream until she felt she was ready to tell her but ayumu has this fear of yu leaving her and not being by her side. like, yu promised her that she'll forever support her and was the sole reason ayumu continued working on being a school idol. she was her first, and to ayumu, her only fan that mattered. she cared about what yu thought of her bc if yu didn't support her in the beginning she would've never been a school idol.
but ayumu is selfish, yeah, you cant have someone all to yourself (im looking at nana and mahiru from revstar) and her not letting yu have a dream for herself is not healthy. yu owes ayumu her dream (in a way) bc if she didn't support ayumu, she wouldn't have been able to find her dream involving piano (idk her dream properly bc i JUST finished ep 11) like, both of them owe each other their dreams, and you can't necessarily say who is in the wrong in this situation bc that's how they feel. ayumu feels if yu "leaves" her (support or get closer with setsuna/anyone else) then yu is breaking the promise she made of forever supporting ayumu. yu feels that she wanted to keep her piano playing a secret because she wanted to be at a level where she feels she's good enough for ayumu to understand. but because of their emotions (mostly on ayumu's part) they dont see eye to eye and their reasonings for acting that way.
NOW bc of those actions (ayumu saying she didn't want to hear yu's dream bc of the fear of yu leaving her and yu not being able to understand ayumu's feelings) the miscommunication is crazy. i love it. ALSO ayumu pinning yu down on the couch while hugging her similar to that photo of them when they were younger? that possibly meaning that ayumu wants to it to just like how they were when they were younger? the audience never being a given a proper view of their position but ayumu locking yu's feet with her own and then cutting to their phones on the floor with ayumu's phone on top of yu's just tells enough?? crazy. im gonna watch the next episode now and see how wrong i am or not lol--

Does anyone ever think about the fact that Ami Mizuno and Hotaru Tomoe are the ONLY Sailor Guardians whose characterizations are not completely RUINED by the 90's anime? Because I do. All the damn time.

The Deadly Cinnamon Roll...
Tumblr media
So I’d like to highlight how this episode utterly YANKS the rug out from under the audience when it comes to Suletta Mercury and turns her into probably the most interesting and unsettling Gundam protagonists of all time.
Tumblr media
See, when we were first introduced to her back in episode 1 and all throughout this first season, Suletta Mercury pretty clearly felt like a somewhat exaggerated take on the Amuro/Kira/Loran style of ‘dorky, socially awkward but well-meaning and earnest’ Gundam protagonist, rather than the Heero/Setsuna/Mikazuki style of ‘emotionally stunted child soldier who kills without feeling anything’ protagonist, with really only a few offhand nods to that type.
But now...
Tumblr media
...it turns out Suletta absolutely IS a take on the ‘unfeeling child soldier’ trope. And thanks to the buildup of making this a mid-series reveal rather than something that was clear from the start, I’d argue Suletta is EVEN MORE unsettling and disturbing than Heero, Setuna or Mikazuki EVER were.
Like it’s one thing to have a child blow away dudes with a stoic, emotionless glare. It’s a whole other thing to have this earnest, dorky little cinnamon roll who’s endeared herself to us and the rest of the cast over the last 12 episodes turn some poor bastard into a literal SMEAR on the WALL, then slip and fall in said smear and just laugh it off as being clumsy before offering a friendly hand that is covered in that dudes BLOOD. This might be a hot take, but I’d argue Suletta Mercury is the first time Gundam has done an ‘unfeeling child soldier’ protagonist that has been legit disturbing to watch. Or least more unsettling than any who have come before.
It turns out that Suletta Mercury is effectively both competing styles of Gundam protagonist existing together. And she’s so much more unsettling, disturbing and INTERESTING because of it.
Like I wouldn’t be surprised if episode one, two or three of season 2 opens with Suletta piloting Aerial while vibing along to some upbeat, cheesy popsong... all while utterly slaughtering a few dozen enemy mobile suits as their pilots freak out in terror before being vaporized.
And honestly, I cannot WAIT to see where this series takes her XD

Sea of Stars: The best game you played as a child that released in 2023
Tumblr media
When I was in middle school, I have vivid memories of playing Chrono Trigger. I rented it from my local video store, a poor man's family video. It even had a tanning bed, as was the style at the time. I sat in front of my grandmother's mid-size CRT television and was amazed at just about everything I saw. The beautiful pixel art, the various set pieces, the story, the music. Everything. My inner monologue for about a month after experiencing Chrono Trigger for the first time was using "thees" and "thous" a lot like Frog did in that localization. He was the best character so the way he spoke was the best way to speak. Simple as that.
Often times games try to ape Chrono Trigger because my experience with it is hardly a unique one. Most of the time, I feel these games miss the mark or fall short of it. They tease you with the "Chrono Trigger" but it more hits on some highlights that Chrono Trigger had instead of making an actual good game that can stand on its own merits. The example that comes most prominently to mind is "I Am Setsuna," a game I once wrote about on this blog. It's a game that mindlessly tries to take what makes Chrono Trigger a good game and slaps it onto something else. A soulless product developed by a company with a soulless name (Tokyo RPG Factory.)
My brother has been pestering me to play Sea of Stars for months now. Yet the specter of products like "I Am Setsuna" prevented me from making the jump for a long time. Yes, aesthetically, it played the part...but if I were to go back in time and rent this game from the fake Hollywood Video and play this on the mid-size CRT at my grandmother's house, would it capture my imagination? Would it stand on its own?
Yes.
Tumblr media
On the surface, Sea of Stars looks like it's trying to be Chrono Trigger. They have the combo attacks, they have the wacky cast of characters from a variety of different backgrounds, the overworld and spritework looks pretty close and the music...well, the music can often feel like it was lifted straight from that very SNES game. But there's more to it than that. Quite literally. Sea of Stars doesn't just try to mimic the style of one beloved RPG, it lifts from several and becomes something of a Jack of all retro turn based trades.
The combat uses timed hits like Super Mario RPG - a system that's extremely easy to wrap your mind around but is extremely adept at keeping the player's attention. You can't just take your mind off of the game once you hit 'attack.' It also has the ability to change your characters in combat, which gives the game something of a Final Fantasy X (it's odd that a 20+ year old game is the 'newest' thing mentioned here) feeling. Sometimes a spot will call for a poison user, sometimes it will call for your warrior cook, sometimes it will call for your moon user. It's simple, but it makes each encounter feel unique and engaging. It also uses something akin to a limit break system, as seen in various Final Fantasy titles. Everybody gets an elaborate ultimate attack. When is the right time to use it? Even more variables tossed into a fairly easy-to-use system.
It's not just in the gameplay either. One of the big mistakes video game companies make when making 'new' retro games is that they cram too much story into the game. Don't get me wrong, stuff like Final Fantasy IV, Lunar Silver Star Story and Chrono Trigger have plenty of story, but go back and play those games and then go play Final Fantasy VII. The amount of dialogue and dedication to storytelling is next level compared to what you get in SNES games. Older RPGs have a smattering of world building and story but that is bolstered by the gameplay. Sea of Stars is similar in this regard. It does not have 'too much' story, it has about as much as you would see in an SNES RPG. It leaves something to the imagination. Not every last detail of the world is explained, you're left with a sense of wonder.
Tumblr media
When I first heard the term 'solstice warrior,' I grimaced. It sounded so lame, like something out of a kid's cartoon. And yet, it is tackled with sincerity. They don't go out of their way to tell you every aspect of what goes into making these warriors, they keep things very simple and straight forward. It just feels authentic. By the end of the game I wanted to learn more about this world and these characters, I did not feel like everything had been spelled out in game and there was something left to discover. Even a post-game twist felt like something a kid would tell you at school and you'd just roll your eyes and say 'yeah fucking right Ned, I'm sure collecting all 60 conch shells will do that.'
My discovery with this game is that in order to create a 'love letter' to a genre, you need to focus on more than one game. It needs to just focus on lots of things. I am Setsuna feels like a shallow clone of Chrono Trigger. Sea of Stars feels like a game that saw great elements from a lot of other great games and came to its own conclusions by throwing those things together. I fully believe a middle school aged Derek would have been glued to his Grandma's CRT for a month straight playing this game. It's the highest compliment that I can pay this game. It's not better than Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI or Earthbound. But it still stands on its own and it is fantastic.

AU where students from the same middle school aren't placed in the same class at UA
I guess it's a good thing that no middle schools get more than two kids into the hero track then...
1- Sorry Bakugou and Mina, you're getting put in 1B to separate you from people you know. (This has got to be a weird social experiment for Nedzu, giving his students "fresher" starts maybe? He did that to poor Tamaki and Mirio too huh) In their place are Ibara and Awase. (It should probably be Ibara and Nirengeki but 💙 Awase is a favorite 💙)
2- Mina and Itsuka are the Big Sisters team of Class 1B, the vice and class representative respectively. Mina is the cool big sister who lends you makeup and cheers you up, and Itsuka is the big sister who fixes your haircut and covers for you from Mom. Anyone in class 1B would kill for either of them. The reverse is also true. Well...... Almost anyone in 1B would kill for them... Mina is also going to make sure that 1B has the most fabulous culture festival on record for UA, ever.
3- Bakugou considers his class a bunch of extras and dislikes how him being the entrance exam winner did not win him the class election automatically, nor how Monoma pivots to being open about disliking him after a few hours of knowing him. ("It's tragic, but better one bad member of a class than twenty of them, 1A. Well, one bad member and a TRAITOR, MINA, I SEE YOU HANGING OUT WITH DISCOUNT TETSUTETSU."). That said, he slowly begins to respect some of his classmates: Itsuka (for controlling Monoma), Shishida and Honenuki (raw power + composure), and Setsuna (good test of power.) He thinks Vlad is an ok teacher, and he does excell at increasing the raw damage his students deal on the battlefield.
4- Ibara, in contrast, gets more training from Aizawa about dext and using minimal vines for the max purpose, rather than as much as possible. She has tea with Tokoyami and Momo often, and Momo reports that she isn't sure if the other two are on the same page or not, because their speech is very dramatic and they're either portending doom or debating spiritualism. But either way they keep meeting so?? Friendship I guess?? She and Sato bake for the dorm every week, and Izuku goes to her for help with Black Whip (she only tries an exorcism once)
5- Awase is just so cool so everyone in 1A loves him too I think this is a very unbiased opinion for me to have. He's got a friendly rivalry with Sero, likes to spar with Ojiro, and has the most incomprehensible arguments with Kaminari when they should be going to bed. Izuku gets excited to work with him and his quirk in groups, (his sharp language is familiar, but warm, and there's something else about him that's familiar, at the back of Izuku's mind, where he can't quite reach... ) and Awase appreciates him.

Ayo you're back!! Awesome!! Could I perhaps ask for how each of them are when they're chronically sleep deprived? Like "I've lived off of caffeine for the past two weeks and I am currently communing with the microwave via love bites" kind of sleep deprived (and maybe what the others do to get them to fucking bed)?
Not proofread we die like men
Awase - he already casually drinks energy drinks so no one really noticed he was as tired as he was until they tried talking to him. Bro can not understand a word being said to him at any given moment. Not to mention he sounds like the dyslexic scene from the ghost stories dub. Rin or someone probably throws him onto his bed only for him to almost instantly pass out lmao.
Sen - everyone knew he was lacking sleep when the saw him poor an energy drink into black coffee and say sorry to a wall for walking into it. He eventually falls asleep on the common areas couch and his classmates just leave him there undisturbed. (Monoma did draw on his face with a sharpie thought)
Kamakiri - it takes so long for people to find out hes lacking sleep. Him cussing at objects and drinking 12 black coffees in five minutes or less is considered normal for some reason. They only realize hes desperately needs rest when he doesn't immediately try to fight tetsu when he asks to train his quirk. He probably just ends up falling asleep on his own since he dosent let his classmates in his room anyways.
Kuroiro - bro is always sleep deprived so nothings new. He goes on average 2-3 days without sleep. So him walking into class with a bag full of energy drinks and a large black coffee extra espresso in hand no ones really surprised.
Kendo - shes pretty good at keeping a good sleep schedule but because of that kendo losing only a few hours of sleep can really mess with her head. So a full all nighter has her seeing stars and stuff. Everyone can instantly tell shes exhausted and all it takes is for someone to ask her to go take a nap and she does just that no problem.
Kodai - when shes sleep deprived she actually becomes more talkative but shes yawning in the middle of every sentence and constantly losing her train of thought (not to mention she poured an entire pot of coffee onto the floor before realizing she missed her cup completely.) Komori or kendo probably takes her to bed lmao
Komori - shes a very loving person so when shes sleep deprived its probably because she struggles sleeping without someone near her. Shes probably used to sleepovers with the other girls (mostly pony and setsuna) so once the girls see komori bite into a piece of tree bark she found on the ground they decided to hold a small sleepover to help her out.
Shiozaki - its really hard for her to become tired much less sleep deprived since she can absorb a little energy from the sun with her vine hair (at least thats what the wiki said) but since shes used to the sun giving her a little boost she quickly becomes tired during long periods of clouds and rain with little sunlight. She starts to doze off while standing and kendo has had to carry her to her room more than once during this.
Shishida - once he starts getting tired he takes less care of his hair(fur?) And it quickly starts getting tangled and matted. He unintentionally starts sounding like an old man thats fought both world wars. Idk its just his tired tone of voice lmao. He probably doesn't drink energy drinks so when hes sleep deprived there isnt a moment where there isnt a black coffee in his hand. He probably ends up falling asleep sitting up in a chair.
Shoda - if hes lacking too much sleep and the coffee and energy drinks arnt helping anymore he will simply fall asleep at his desk for a few minutes at a time or in the common area. If hes that sleep deprived he will catch up on sleep through little naps throughout the day instead of just going to bed normally. (Which arguably makes his sleep deprivation worse)
Pony - when shes sleep deprived she dosent bother with brushing her hair in the mornings or things like that so as she gets less and less sleep she looks more and more like a zombie. She probably is a lot like komori and needs one of the girls to help her sleep a bit.
Tsubaraba - hes always sleep deprived. It gives charachter. He'll go for days without sleep and not even notice until one of his classmates point out how hes taking to his own shadow. Rin and awase got him to go to bed. (It took welding him down but if it works it works)
Tetsutetsu - not getting proper sleep isnt manly in his opinion, so he tries his best to take good care of his sleep schedule. So on the rare times where he is lacking sleep hes not sure what to do. He ends up falling asleep in class and staying asleep until schools over pretty much. Other than being really tired and barely being able to form a coherent sentence hes not as bad sleep deprived as ya think.
Tokage - she will say absolutely anything and everything she thinks of when shes tired and she will be immediately forget what she said. Its not anything mean or remotely understandable for that matter, but she will say it. She seems the type to get more tired from things like coffee and energy drinks so those dont help. The only way she gets any sleep is either from the girls sleepover or by actually collapsing
Manga - pulling 4 all nighters in a row just to draw was not his smartest moment. Doing that during exam season was an even dumber move. He pulled up to class without a pencil or book of any kind but he had a black coffee with triple espresso. He dosent like coffee but he forgot until he was already half way done with his coffee and the bitter taste hit him like a truck. After that he slept for like 2 and a half days straight.
Honenuki - he can go 4 or 5 days without sleep but in those final few hours on the last day he loses all grip on sanity lmaoo. He'll be fine and then suddenly he'll be drinking 12 energy drinks in one sitting and forgetting his own name. Hes pretty good at getting himself to sleep at that point tho.
Bondo - no one can tell hes sleep deprived until he falls asleep standing up. He starts moving all sluggish like and is constantly yawning but other than that not much of a difference despite how tired he is. He probably ends up falling asleep in the common area.
Monoma - he loses an hour of sleep and he'll look like he hasn't slept in months. So even one all nighter causes him to get the biggest eye bags youve ever seen. He can only stay awake thanks to the multiple energy drinks he has. He finally gets some sleep after kendo knocked him out.
Reiko - she usually stays up later than the rest of the class so shes used to having a bit less sleep than some of her classmates but the second she starts walking into walls because she can barely keep her eyes open she knows its time for bed. When she gets like this she can sleep for almost a full day and a half and still be tired when she wakes up. Becoming sleep deprived is how she knows its bed time.
Rin - the only reason he would ever lose sleep is if he stayed up all night studying or some nerdy thing like that lmao. Day of the test he walks in with the biggest eye bags and 12 energy drinks in his bag only to pass out the second it starts and not wake up all day. He refuses to pull all nighters after his final grade dropped 20% from that.

The Encanto was by its nature a very religious community. It was old fashioned and religious with the Madrigals being the only exception to the Magic is Evil rule.
So suffice to say that when people started paying attention to the two youngest Madrigals and those they hung out with there was a minor uproar.
After all there was a tall woman with unnaturally colored hair that had eyes red as blood who often hovered near the two. And the one roughly Mirabels age if a bit older was a dark haired solemn girl who wielded a glaive, a scythe.
To the religious people of the community there was a red eyed demoness and an angel of death amongst them that often stayed near the two children.
It had caused quite a few incidents, especially when the priest decided to throw holy water on the two unbothered but unamused women. Haruka had laughed her ass off when the priest had tossed holy water at Setsuna and Hotaru who were pretty much two of the nicest and most polite of their group.
Of course Haruka wasn't laughing when the priest threw holy water at her and Michiru for their 'sinful relationship'...yeah it took most of the scouts to hold Haruka back.
That's insane 😭😭 ESPECIALLY JIDGING SOMEONE ON HOW THEY LOOK...LIKE DAWG 🌚 Someone get them poor mfs out of there 👽

Merry Christmas Hotaru
Written for Sailor Moon LGTBQ+ Week.
Day 1: Morning.
The Outer Guardians celebrate their first Christmas morning together as a family.
@smlgbtqweek
----
“Haruka-Papa! Michiru-Mama! C’mon! Get up!” Hotaru shouted at her parents' bedside.
Haruka slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes, “What…?”
“It’s Christmas! Santa came!” The black-haired girl said excitedly, grabbing her papa’s arm and trying to pull her out of bed, “C’mon c’mon c’mon!”
“Alright, alright, settle down dear.” Michiru said, sitting up as well, her elegance shining through her exhaustion, “How about you head downstairs and wait for us? We’ll be down in just a minute.”
“Aw, okay. Don’t take too long though! Setsuna-Mama is waiting downstairs too!” Hotaru informed.
“Of course she is.” Haruka said, rubbing her eyes again, “Alright, alright, we’re coming. Just give us a sec.”
With that, Hotaru took her leave, excitedly bounding down the stairs. Michiru turned to her lover with a smile, “Well, she’s certainly excited.”
“A little too much for 5:42 in the morning if you ask me…” Haruka said, fighting the urge to lay down and go back to sleep.
“Well, this is our first Christmas together as a family, it only makes sense.” Michiru reasoned, getting up and putting on her robe.
“And basically her first Christmas period from what I gathered. Kid didn’t even know who Santa was before I told her.” Haruka said, also getting out of bed.
“Yes, I suppose that’s true… that poor girl…” Michiru said sadly, brushing her hair in the mirror.
It was true that Hotaru had not celebrated the holidays before the Outers took her in. It seemed the Death Busters hadn’t felt much need to encourage their Messiah of Silence to leave out milk and cookies or stuff stockings. As such, the whole experience had been dazzlingly new to the girl, Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna all wanting to make sure their little girl’s first Christmas was a good one… no matter how early they had to get up to make that happen.
“Yeah… but, guess that just means we have to make all her Christmases with us extra special to make up for it.” Haruka said, holding her partner from behind and looking at her in the mirror.
“Hmm… yes, I suppose it does.” Michiru said with a smile, turning around and going in for a kiss, until,
“HARUKA-PAPA! MICHIRU-MAMA! C’MON!” Hotaru called up to them.
“Heh, well, let’s not keep her waiting any longer then.” Haruka said, throwing on her robe and grabbing her camcorder before they made their way down the stairs, to find Hotaru and Setsuna sitting on the floor together by the tree.
“... so is he a time traveler too? I just don’t understand how he can get around the whole world in one night.” Hotaru asked Setsuna.
“Of course he is.” Setsuna said confidently.
“Really?!”
“Yep. I see him at the Door of Space and Time every year. He usually has trouble fitting his whole sleigh through it, but he somehow always makes it work.” Setsuna explained with a smile.
“Wow…” Hotaru said, wide-eyed, before finally noticing her other parents had arrived, “Finally! You’re here!”
“Yep, we sure are.” Haruka said, still a little groggy, but she’d be lying if she said Hotaru’s energy wasn’t a little contagious.
“Well, go ahead dear, which one do you want to open first?” Michiru asked.
“Hey! No! Not yet! If we’re doing Christmas we’re doing Christmas right!” Haruka said, pulling out her camcorder, “Now if I can just figure out… how to work this thing…”
“Have you never used a camcorder before?” Michiru asked, tilting her head.
“When would I have ever needed to use one before now? I bought this thing, like, last week.” Haruka explained, still looking it over.
“Well do you have a tape in there?” Michiru questioned.
“Yes of course I have a tape in there! I know that much! I just-”
“Oh for crying out loud just give me the damn thing!” Setsuna said, standing up and swiping it from Haruka, before turning it on and pointing it at the little girl, “Alright Hotaru, whenever you’re ready.” She said with a smile.
“Yay!” Hotaru exclaimed, immediately going for the biggest present and tearing it open, “No way! I got a Nintendo 64!” She shouted excitedly, holding it up for the camera to see.
“That’s wonderful sweetheart.” Michiru said, before leaning over to Haruka and whispering, “I get the funny feeling she’s not the only one who’ll be playing that.”
“... Look I just wanna play Mario Kart, okay?” Haruka whispered back, defensively.
“Alright. You’d better let her win a couple times, though. She told me about what happened with God Driving at the arcade.” Michiru said.
“Look, the kid’s gotta learn-”
“Haruka.”
“... yes ma’am.”
Once the presents had been exhausted, Haruka looked down at her little girl with a smile, “So, you like everything you got?”
“I LOVE IT!” Hotaru exclaimed.
“Heh, well, that’s good. Anyway Setsuna you can probably stop-” Haruka began to say, before Hotaru sprung up to cut her off.
“No, wait! We’re not done yet!” The little girl insisted.
“Uh… we’re not?” Haruka asked, scratching her head.
“Nope! We haven’t gotten to the best part yet!” Hotaru said, and before anyone could ask her to elaborate, the black-haired girl disappeared up the stairs to her room.
“Uh… Hey Sets, you got any idea what she’s talking about?” Haruka asked, leaning over to her.
“Hmm… maybe.” The Guardian of Time said with a smirk, cryptic as ever.
Hotaru soon returned, running back down the stairs with a flat, square present in her hands, and handing it to Haruka, “This is for you.”
“Oh… for us?” Haruka asked, taking the present as Hotaru snatched the camcorder from Setsuna.
“Mmhm! Now c’mon! Open it!” Hotaru said, excited to see their reactions.
Haruka did as she was told and tore open the present, revealing a framed drawing of the four of them holding hands on a hill. Hotaru was very talented for her age, having been instructed in many of the fine arts by Michiru. Despite that, the drawing still had a childish charm to it. Above the four of them Hotaru had written two simple words: ‘My Family’.
“Oh, sweetheart, it’s lovely.” Michiru said, looking down at the drawing.
“Yes, I think so as well. What do you think, Haruka?” Setsuna asked, looking over at Haruka, who seemed almost entranced by the drawing, “Haruka?”
“Do… do you like it, Haruka-Papa?” Hotaru asked, seeming a bit worried, “I worked really hard on- oh!” Was all the little girl could get out before her papa dropped down and pulled her into a hug.
“... I love it. Thank you, Hotaru.” Haruka said in a voice that betrayed that she was definitely holding back tears. Hotaru’s two mamas quickly joined the hug as well, Michiru patting Haruka’s back in support, “Merry Christmas, Hotaru.”
“Merry Christmas, Haruka-Papa.”
Later in the day, Haruka found a nice wall in their house and hung the picture up. Once she had successfully done so she took a step back, looking at the picture and tearing up once again. Sure, their family wasn’t what most would consider a ‘normal’ one but… it was hers. And Haruka wouldn’t trade it for the world.
----
And that’s it for day one! In case anyone’s curious, my participation in this event will mean that the next chapter of my ongoing fic, Sailor Moon: Reignstorm will be pushed back to next week.
Please come back tomorrow for Day 2: Argument (I think the UsaRei fans are gonna be pretty happy for the fic I’ve got cooked up for that one ;) )
But until then, please let me know what you thought! Comments, reblogs, likes, etc. are much appreciated!
And until next time, take care everyone!

How would you rewrite the 4th joint training match?
I've already gone over a lot of the issues I have with this fight, so I won't harp on them too long here.
Tumblr media
The first thing I would do is extend the fight itself. Clocking in at a whopping two chapters, it's too short to build up any interesting changes in the fight's momentum and dynamics. On that note, I would move some of the players around. Most of the powers here are rather one-note and aren't that diverse in their roles and applications. There isn't any real synergy or counterplay between the powers. The most we get is Setsuna tricking Jiro's jacks, but that barely matters to the fight itself. While you could try to switch out the players, like having more active fighters from 1-A or giving 1-B some bigger powerhouses, I think it would be better to evolve their powers. We know next to nothing about the 1-B Quirks. You could have added anything to make this fight more interesting. For example, Bondo's glue could have had certain resistances or weaknesses to heat or vibrations, giving it some interactions with Bakugou or Jiro.
Then there is Setsuna. In spite of her being a Recommended Student, she has a pretty poor showing. The fact that she is hyped up as this major leader and planner but can't work around this one change is mindboggling. And in spite of the fact that her Quirk is one of the most interesting in the class, all she does is tap her parts against pipes. It comes across as the title was only their to make Bakugou look better, but only makes Setsuna look worse. I would have Setsuna be a more active participant in the fight. Both in how she could adapt around the plans of Class 1-A, potentially outplaying them at a few points to keep the fight interesting, and in her doing more stuff with her power. Have her fly her teammates around, subtly undo parts of the environment to have it collapse around people, and give her some actual equipment to help her fight. You could even play up the idea of how her power is the perfect counter to Bakugou's, being too fast and small for him to really fight her, kind of like Monsoon vs Raiden.
Finally, Bakugou. As I've said before, the fight focuses too much on Bakugou and feels like it rushes his development. It's not helped by how he's barely acting any differently around his classmates, still calling them minions and seeming like he barely tolerates them. To fix this, I would pull some of the focus away from Bakugou by having the other students take a more active role in the fight rather than acting purely as supporters. One way you could go about it is by having Bakugou act as a decoy. That his all-out attack seemed to play into Setsuna's hands, but was a big distraction, taking away their focus from his teammates and smashing their defenses. It shows him putting himself in a role he wouldn't normally be in while fitting with people misunderstanding him. I know he had a moment like that with trusting Denki during the License Exam, but he was forced into that situation. I think it would mean a lot more for Bakugou to make the sacrifice play here, showing his development by having him put faith in his teammates, giving those characters time to shine, and foreshadowing certain future events.

AZAMA FIC
His beloved had left him. Mitama was still only some months old, but that poor excuse of a person had ran away one night to be with someone else and left Azama alone with their child. Countless days had he spent lost and confused. He didn't understand why she left and he didn't know how to care for such a young child alone.
Worst of all, he was still Hinoka's retainer. Whenever he left for work, he feared that the kindergarten wasn't any good and that Mitama would get hurt. He feared he might leave to the battlefield and never return, leaving his baby without anyone to care for her.
"You should just put her in the deeprealms," Hinoka suggested.
"I don't want that, I want to see her grow up," Azama sighed, "She'll hate me if she spends her entire childhood thinking I abandoned her."
"But you wouldn't have to worry about her and besides, kids are a lot of work!" Hinoka said, "All that cleaning up after them because they can't do it themselves and you have to teach them to speak."
Azama felt a certain anger bubbling in him, a frustration that she couldn't understand just how much Mitama meant to him, but he tried to remain civil, "The answer is no."
Hinoka let it rest, but it was clear she still thought of it. Azama wondered how she could be so heartless. Of course children needed their parents, someone had to teach and care for them. A caretaker such as those of the deeprealm had a dozen children to care for, Mitama might be neglected or abused and he would have no way of knowing.
In his worry for his daughter, he didn't notice he had fallen behind by several paces until Setsuna called his name.
"I'll help take care of her when I have time," she said.
"Thanks," was all Azama could muster in the midst of his anxious daze.
Some days and a battle later, they returned home. Mitama had been staying with Mozu's family. She had to stay home for some weeks after breaking her leg and she was more than happy to care for Mitama during that time. Her father loved the girl as well and had endlessly reassured Azama he would make sure she was perfectly safe, happy and healthy.
Though he was exhausted, Azama wore a bright smile when he knocked on the front door. Some moments passed before Mozu answered. At the sight of her friend, she retreated back into the house before he could see how she had burst into tears.
"Mozu? What's the matter?" he asked as he stepped over the threshold.
Her father held his head in his hands and looked just as, if not more, devastated than Mozu.
"What's wrong?" Azama asked once more.
"They took Mitama," Mozu muttered.
A hopelessness he hadn't felt in years bubbled up in Azama's chest. It was odd, cold and heavy. In that moment, he wanted everything to stop and to scream at them both for allowing anything to happen to the one that mattered most to him...
They weren't at fault though, he knew that much. They both loved Mitama as though she were part of the family, they would sacrifice life and limb to protect her.
With nothing else he could do, Azama wept. His sobs filled the house and just the sound made the residents' hearts ache. They hugged him tight and cried with him, for he and Mitama were family in every way but blood.
That evening after endless tears had been shed and they had spoken, Azama returned home with useful information. Those that had taken Mitama were soldiers. Hoshidan soldiers. Apparently, a higher up had commanded them to take Mitama after determining the thought of her distracted Azama while he worked.
The second piece of information he gleaned was her location: the deeprealms.
It wasn't something he thought of then, but on the walk home, it was crystal clear to hi. that Hinoka had given the order. She always complained whenever he had a problem related to Mitama and said he should send her away.
His grip on his staff tightened as he thought of this. He wanted to kill her slowly and watch her bleed, he wanted her to beg for a second chance and to feel nothing but pain and regret as she bled out when he refused to forgive her.
But Mitama was more important. He would find her and then decide what to do with Hinoka.
First, he had to get to the deeprealms. Despite the amount of times the option had been recommended to him, he didn't actually know how to get there. It was a secret that few outside the royal family knew.
That information was surprisingly easy to learn though as Ryoma had offered it voluntarily when asked. He knew not of Hinoka's issues with Azama.
"East of the butterfly village. There's a path to follow, the locals would gladly show it to you!" he had said.
As expected, a local had happily shown Azama to the correct path. They had left after he reached the gate. He dropped his polite smile and entered, only concerned with if he could find his dear little Mitama.
The world was different from how he pictured. Everyone always said farmlands, but he didn't think there would really be as much farmlands as there truly were. He waded though golden wheat to a distant manor.
From afar, he could already hear the sounds of children laughing as they played. They sounded happy. He wondered if Mitama was amongst those kids, or if she was still a baby. He didn't know what the difference in time was between his world and this.
A man watched the children as they played. He wore a uniform not unlike a Hoshidan steward, and so Azama assumed he was their caretaker.
"Sir! I'm searching for my daughter," Azama said.
"Hmm? No one was scheduled to visit today," the man answered.
"I don't care, I need to see her. Her name is Mitama."
"Mitama?" the man thought.
His face contorted into something Azama couldn't quite make out. Confusion? Fear? Dread? Horror? Surprise?
"Mitama... Takagi?" he hesitantly said.
"Yes, is she here?" Azama said as composed as he could.
"I've received orders that she isn't to have any visitors."
That hopelessness that had latched onto his heart like a tumor seemed to grow by the second. All that stopped him from falling to his knees in a sea of tears was the staff he leaned on.
He wiped the tears from his eyes and forced a smile.
"You're a reasonable man, no?" he asked.
"I'd like to think I am," the caretaker confusedly answered.
"Then you must understand my situation. My wife left me and I don't speak with my family, Mitama is all I have left," he pleaded.
The caretaker thought of it. His face was still as he did, completely and frustratingly unreadable.
"I suppose you can see her," he said.
Azama wanted to cry while he followed the caretaker into the manor. He paced back and forth while the caretaker left to retrieve the girl.
It felt like he waited for an eternity. Or maybe just some seconds. As soon as he saw little Mitama's face, he forgot everything about how long he had waited.
She hid behind the caretaker with a frown. Her hair was the same pink as her mother's and she had adorable round cheeks, but she must have been about three of four for she was quite a bit taller than when he last held her four days prior.
"Go on Mitama, he's just your dad," he said.
"He's mean," she complained.
"Please, just say hi to him."
Hesitantly, she stepped out from her hiding place.
"Hello Mitama," Azama smiled.
She stared up at him with empty eyes before retreating behind the caretaker once more. She didn't like Azama, not when she had never met him before and only knew him as her dad who abandoned her because she was a burden.
"Can I leave now?" she asked.
The caretaker looked to Azama and reluctantly, he nodded. Mitama ran off, likely to play or whatever else she liked doing. He didn't know his own daughter. He didn't know if she was rowdy or quiet or artistic or sporty or snooty or friendly or anything about her at all.
A silence stayed in that room for another stretch of time that felt like it could both be a million years and a millisecond.
"She doesn't seem to like you," the caretaker said plainly.
Azama held it in no longer and fell to the floor and sobbed. The caretaker put a careful hand on his shoulder, saying little while this stranger seemed to feel the worst pain of his life. There wasn't much to say to anyway, it was clear what had happened.
"Can I stay here? I-I'll help care for all the children, I just want to see my daughter," Azama wept.
It was all he could think of in the moment, but truly, it wasn't a half bad idea. He thought children were fascinating and he knew he wouldn't be able to stop himself if he saw Hinoka again.
Being a caretaker to two dozen children with a slight chance of fixing his relationship with his daughter was better than being executed for killing a princess.
The caretaker agreed, and so began a strange new chapter in Azama's life.
The ending is less miserable than the one I had initially thought of
I NEED TO BITE A HOLE IN MY WALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BWUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry to concede that it's true, Sailor Moon S is VASTLY OVERRATED and it's my favorite one in the anime series. One can argue it's the beginning of the decline of Sailor Moon. It greatly deviates from the source material, the other girls get no power ups being stuck in their Star Power henshin and attacks, Chibi-Usa gets no Super form, and it continues the trope of finding whatever thingmajig in people's bodies that would continue into the next two seasons and the Guardians FUCKING useless.
It's really is overrated and I have been saying this for so long.
Some people say it's peak (which to me in the manga it is because Naoko was in her bag with this season), while I actually with you and say that it's decline of Sailor Moon for the 90's anime.
Because honestly if Haruka and Mic wasn't in it this season it wouldn't hold up well to be honest.
Because Usagi, Har, Mic and I'm going to say Mamo is carrying this season on their damn back so far with me being 19 episodes in.
Because if you take those four out along with Saturn and Pluto only thing you would have is Rei, Mina, Ami and Mako and think the Death Busters would have won if it was just those four..
Rei, Mina, and Ami aint doing shit but bullying Usagi while Mako is doing 1% . She only gets 1% because she did defeat a Diamon by herself. They are so damn weak and Usagi is pretty much doing everything by herself if Har/Mic or Mamo is not helping her.
They are letting Chibiusa be useless, a gotdamn joke and having her running around looking for a friend when that friend that is very important to the plot haven't showed up yet... Only thing she gets is damn barrettes from her Super Form but she doesn't even get her Super Form. ( I'm heading to that episode soon yall! lol)
I'm telling like it is because they did Hotaru/Saturn fucking wrong in this season because all she was a plot device. Hyping her up and only thing she did was throw fireworks at P90..
And P90...Poor Dude didn't have no speaking lines... Just a fucking moaning blob.
They say Mamo is useless but damn he was her only line of defense for two episodes and he dueled a Diamon and Kaionite with his damn cane. At least he's doing something in battles to help her out.
Rei had that dream about the world being destroyed two damn times and haven't told no one yet and we are now halfway into the season.
We only know how the tailsmans look like becasue Eudial was smart to ask Tomoe " Oh Hey Since I'm looking for these things, What the fuck do they look like?"
Har/Mic been running around Tokyo trying to find these damn things but playing blues clues with them and playing Civil War: Senshi Edition with the Inner Senshi. While Harkua is flirting with all the girls but Ami...
The inner senshi haven't done any homework in trying to find out how they look like, what they do, and why Har/Mic and the Death Busters want them. Or even trying to find out was they artifacts/ relics of the SliMil. They haven't even try to find out was there any other Senshi in the past that they didn't know about.
Well they are barely doing regular homework which they supposed to be doing since they are getting ready for High School Entrance Exam but I digress
And Setsuna..
Lord they going to do Pluto so damn dirty.. I can't wait until I get to that episode!
They are wildin with the fan service this season with these designs of the Diamon and then this shot right here..
Tumblr media
That's why her nickname is T.A.P. Might was well have her ass naked.. ( I haven't gotten to Har bare butt shot and T.A.P fully nude shot yet.)
This season is the reason why my Icon is this pic
Tumblr media
It just put all my feelings about this season into words "I'm so sick of this bullshit." lmao
I can't wait until we speed running the plot in the last few episodes!!
So yes this S season is overrated as hell.

*SessRin Drabble*
Tumblr media
Sesshomaru's mother meets Rin for the first time since becoming her son's human wife.
Based off chapter 19 of the Hanyo no Yashahime manga.
Ao3
Sesshomaru’s wife greets her with such brazen familiarity, it almost makes her regret recalling the girl's soul from the underworld.
Poor manners aside, the years have certainly done wonders for her—she’s grown into quite the beauty; even if she still has the stink of peasant all over her.
“Look! Towa, Setsuna—it’s your O-sobo-sama!”
The disrespect.
“Call me Gobodo-sama!”
The girl is unperturbed; the only nervous sweat she can scent is pouring off the hanyo’s female.
Perhaps this Rin is suited to her son after all.
She’d better be.
All of their futures were going to depend on it.
