Le temps coule et guérit tout

A picture of you

lit up my screen

I went hollow

nine months

seem to have left

you with lines on your face

Your arms look like

they could finally hold me tight

You took off that bracelet that I loved so much

There must be a hundred other little things

that have changed since

Time is cruel like that

making things happen, taking you miles away

without asking for permission

but I know time is also good like that

healing wounds, bringing endless new opportunities

without having you realise it

so that there won’t be a part of me still

weak for you

when another picture lights up my screen

आज यूँ मौज-दर-मौज ग़म थम गया इस तरह ग़म-ज़दों को क़रार आ गया / फ़ैज़ अहमद फ़ैज़

आज यूँ मौज-दर-मौज ग़म थम गया इस तरह ग़म-ज़दों को क़रार आ गया

जैसे ख़ुश-बू-ए-ज़ुल्फ़-ए-बहार आ गई जैसे पैग़ाम-ए-दीदार-ए-यार आ गया

जिस की दीद-ओ-तलब वहम समझे थे हम रू-ब-रू फिर सर-ए-रहगुज़ार आ गया

सुब्ह-ए-फ़र्दा को फिर दिल तरसने लगा उम्र-ए-रफ़्ता तिरा ए'तिबार आ गया

रुत बदलने लगी रंग-ए-दिल देखना रंग-ए-गुलशन से अब हाल खुलता नहीं

ज़ख़्म छलका कोई या कोई गुल खिला अश्क उमडे कि अब्र-ए-बहार आ गया

ख़ून-ए-उश्शाक़ से जाम भरने लगे दिल सुलगने लगे दाग़ जलने लगे

महफ़िल-ए-दर्द फिर रंग पर आ गई फिर शब-ए-आरज़ू पर निखार आ गया

सरफ़रोशी के अंदाज़ बदले गए दावत-ए-क़त्ल पर मक़्तल-ए-शहर में

डाल कर कोई गर्दन में तौक़ आ गया लाद कर कोई काँधे पे दार आ गया

'फ़ैज़' क्या जानिए यार किस आस पर मुंतज़िर हैं कि लाएगा कोई ख़बर

मय-कशों पर हुआ मोहतसिब मेहरबाँ दिल-फ़िगारों पे क़ातिल को प्यार आ गया

Boundless

As we go round and round

This endless jungle seems so long

As I track through and through

I reach inside and say

The vastness of the abyss bring me to a place I never knew

A calming gesture that echoes throughout my bodily existence

Reminds me of my will through this pain

A pain so deep and profane, a needle with a dull edge, my torment is slowly stabbed to death

What balance could exist in all this chaos

What guiding light could set me free

Where can I go to just be me

A compass treading me along

I follow it and it does not follow me

But i want to learn how to pull the strings

The moisture of fellow tree bark, takes me away

Brings me to a different place so I may take my leave

This grass of green just seems so alien to me

But nonetheless, I ravage on

And rummage through this dirty grass

As we go round and round.

Shame

I used to fight against an invisible monster

I used to overthink everything I wanted to do due to this monster

I used to question everything even though nobody ever said anything to me

And that’s when it hit me: That monster I was battling with was no other than my insecurities

When I finally understood it, I started to prove myself that I was able to do new things and it was the best decision ever

I talked some of my friends into doing the same thing and today one of them send me a message saying that I inspired her and that’s why she posted something that meant a lot to her, but for some “absurd” reason she never did share it

I invite you guys to do the same!
