#jessamine rambles #before i start. pls keep in mind that this is fully subjective and could just be a 'me' problem. i just want to get this off my chest #ngl i've been contemplating on whether i want to stop playing obey me. both the og game and nightbringer #idk i've been playing the game since its first month and while it's given me a lot of joy + memories + chances to befriend other ppl. i'm #pretty burned out. not to mention TIRED of my consistent disappointment with the game #the main story.....where do i start?? i actually enjoyed s1-s3 despite my qualms with the fillers and pacing but s4 disappointed me. i was #rlly looking forward to simeon's storyline and the new characters but ultimately. the devs tried to squeeze too many things into one season #not to mention that there is a notable difference in how the characters are written. i.e. beel's hunger and asmo's beauty #being watered down to running gags instead of the complexities explored in the old dg stories and chara songs #gameplay-wise. i was there when the devs raised the rewards price of the event urs and removed the demon ssrs completely #but nightbringer was the last straw for me. the amount of time it takes to grind for two games. knowing that the og app has essentially bee #abandoned by the devs?? not to mention that while the plot is interesting. i haven't touched the main story ever since the coma arc #i will give credit to the devs for improving the event stories by choosing to focus on 1-2 demons. but it has always felt like a quantity >#quality situation. esp if i were to compare it to my other fandoms #it also doesn't help that i'm currently at a point of my life where i'm questioning if i could use my time on obm for better things #seeing how the game is giving me less reasons to believe it is worth my time #idk this may also be a short-term phase since i DID get back into twst after a long hiatus and i recently got into whb #which btw has felt like a breath of fresh air despite my frustrations with the bugs and current gacha #but yeahhhh........as much as i love the obm characters and fanfics. i'm just tired #at this point i feel like the only reason why i still play the game is due to the nostalgia and so i don't waste the years of grinding #aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh #this is what i get for being the type of player who only plays a few games so they can rlly dedicate their time and passion to it #that's all

We got to know more things about him, about some events in his life, about how he has known Thirteen and Barbatos for the longest time, about how much she likes his soul even if now it doesn't shine as much? I mean, living more than 1000 years sure does something to change you 🧍🏻‍♀️

Also, Belphie giving the MC a certain dejavù? Asmo, Levi and Mammon being worried about MC and siding with them in order to protect them from Lucifer's wrath? Coming all the way before him so they can warn MC about him?

BUUUUUUT MOST IMPORTANTLY

Solomon coming right in time to save MC, defending us because we are his adorable apprentice after all, so he takes us to the place he knows he needs to be :")

I think it was lesson 11-8? But Solomon admiting that he feels jealous too of MC? Sealing the insecurities with 2 kisses while making sure to reassure us that he is going to protect us? <3 pls the devs are finally giving us the time of our lives for the Solomon enjoyers! 🩵

That moment in the middle of caos while hiding away from some of the most powerfull demons was just... everything :') even more considering what came next:

Dealing with Lucifer himself

Oh boy, not only does he doesn't trust us, he belives we are a danger for his family and big brother won't have any of that to the point of using his powers to make Solomon and MC not able to move, if it wasn't for Thirteen randomly finding a grimoire-

Oh well

Now we are making promises? Now everything turns white? Please no more cliffhangers x.x

Oh

Most importantly.

I am not liking this foreshadowing on MC having to picture a worst case scenario where they are going to have to pick choices.

Are they going to follow the demon brothers? Will they abandon humanity for them? Is this why we are here?

I just want you to know that I've had so much trouble even looking at other dating sims / otome games since I found your blog because your story just raises the bar so high! On that note, if your game was officially picked up, have you had any thoughts about what in-game currency would look like and how much it would cost?

AAAAAAAAA KJENRMKJNM FIRST OF ALL THANK YOU SO MUCH THAT’S SO SWEET. 😭 honestly part of the reason i put so much work into this blog is bc i love otomes so much but i have always just been. so constantly dissatisfied with the quality and lack of, like, innovation in otome titles that get translated to the west 🤡 thankfully since the genre is growing in popularity, we’re starting to get more dynamic titles but even then the genre can feel so same-y, i’m desperate for some good ass story content pls o.tomates lmfao.

OMG EKJNRGM if i ever actually put any of my game dev background to good use and actually made an otome game, it’d be a full fledged non-episodic game tbh. i assume you mean in-game currency as in microtransactions and i’ve just never been a huge fan of mobile otome and etc that do that model (looking at you, obey me). i only play full otome games where u buy the entire game once and that’s it now-a-days. theoretically i’d love to team up with a couple ppl i know and release a full otome on steam one day (n just go by standard otome prices w/e the were) #goals but if that Ever happens it’s def not gonna be any year soon but I WISH

Día de los muertos is slowly approaching and im not sure if anyones thought of this but i would literally love to see the devs make a día de los muertos event (my design for día de los muertos mammon!! when they reach the lower level of devildom!!)

maybe even involve lillith in a way?? my original thought was that mc and the boys + solomon end up in diffrent layer of devildom (through the reapers cave) , thats full of forgotten souls and mc takes pity on one of the lost souls and try to help them out and they end up going thorigh a layer of the cleestial realm full of souls who look forward to día de los miertos (kimda like a harsh contrast to the other layer of devildom) and so when the time comes they all learn about día de los muertos and then return to the human world and thus solomon and mc sneak off to find the grave if the lost soul they place a bell and clean up the grave a bit a special candle ignites by itself the bell rings as a thanks to them and thwn mc gets dragged off to fill an ofrenda for lilith by the 7 and its left with solomon by himself as he walks to a grave and places flowers and is like "celebrating the life of the dead huh? how nice"'and then mc calls him over to celebrate BAM hire me OBEY ME DEVS 😌🤌

well mostly because the whole, "Yo, He is Shady Af" just made me want to write about him more in my fics, (Even tho I haven't wrote much for him aside from some chapters in my very first multi-chapter fic-)

Plus he is funny af sometimes (Tho he a Granpa-)

No. 4: Beelzebub:

ok so, I do like him mostly cause he a soft boi.

And also cause he is probably the balance between the good/soft and dark

and also cause he has genuinely good moments in the game (Thanks devs! Part 1)

Its also cause I love characters like him. (like that one gently holds meme image-)

It's also cause I headcanon that his true demon form is basically just like his design in Shin Megami Tensei

Has a smile on his face that can even scare Lucifer when mad? Perfect.

Teases the heck out of Lucifer sometimes? Even more Perfect.

Is a good parent to Luke? Excellent.

Interesting character? I mean he does has the whole mystery around him for his "special" powers and all.... plus that point of him is like something that I do actually think about and make small wips about....

No. 1: LUCIFER MY BELOVED- (Sorry not sorry-) (I couldn't stop myself from doing that-) (Get ready for the intense passionate rant of a simp, on this one-)

HE IS PERFECT.

The truth is, I like characters who look scary af on the outside but are absolutely adorable and cute on inside. (Me and my friend refer to those type of characters as "Teddy Bear Characters")

Like when I compare him to my other husbandos (in other games) I only start to like them only after a certain amount of time is passed, like Kiryu (Yakuza), Nishiki (Yakuza) and even Jumin Han (Mystic Messenger).

But the moment I saw a video of lesson 20 (it was the video of THAT moment hehehehe-¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯ ) in youtube (for the first time), I was like, "OK WHO TF IS THIS HANDSOME MF-" and then I proceeded to download the game by giving up my other mobile game-

I mean I did got pissed at him for many scenes......

But then lesson 22-C hit me like a truck and now I'm floored.

HOW- HOW CAN HE BE SO CUTE LIKE THAT

THAT BLUSH

THAT TIME WHEN HE CALLED THE MC MASTER I-

SIR YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE THAT CUTE AND HANDSOME AT THE SAME TIME- *cue that meme with ambulance*

Plus, I like the fact that, his character get more fleshed out in S2 like there is a moment that I absolutely love, its in the Bloody Moon Event (I forgot the lesson no-) it's the very end of it- like when Asmo and luci both are tied and only one vote, that is luci's vote had remained, and then he voted for Asmo- (correct me if I am wrong) That was a very endearing moment.

and go ahead and sue me for loving Luci's song

again it's not because the song is like how you expect out from luci, its the lyrics that make love it. like the lyrics do have the 'I am possessive af vibe' but they still manage to make him adorable and lovely (imo) (also cause his song is easiest to translate when I want study choukai, [listening practice, japanese]) (Yes, I translate songs to study japanese-)

and don't get me started about his goofy moments-

like one time I wheezed so loud that my mom got worried

Plus, truth to be told I like when a character becomes from serious to goofy af (without even realizing it-)

And in some cases, such as being kind of overly protective of your family is something that I find endearing and also at small level relatable

And also cause he is my type- (don't judge me pls-)

and also the FANART

LIKE ALL OF HIS FANARTS- (especially the true demon form/ level 4 form)

Forever going to stand by my headcanon that the reasons why Satan, Asmo, and Beel are all there when MC is brought to the Devildom is for them to help them with their sched + learning materials, help them with their uniform, and help them bring it all to the HoL respectively, we just didn’t see it because it’s ‘boring logistical stuff’
