headcanon that percy and annabeth routinely swap weapons in battle. it's not a concious feat. it's just that they consider themselves a single unit when fighting for their lives. so their partner's weapon is also their weapon.

This is such a small, stupid thing to be excited about, but I am SO happy that Riptide is going to be a capped pen again, not a click pen. It just never made sense to me why they would change it.

Riptide being a capped pen makes more sense plot wise! The point of the cap is that Percy can toss it away and it will later reappear in his pocket so he can put Riptide away.

With the click pen, he just....clicks the pen and it becomes a sword. But that means that all you have to do to put the sword away is click it again. Which would be REALLY easy to accidentally do in an intense battle.

Again, it's such a tiny, basically insignificant detail, but I outright pumped my fist when I watched him flick the cap off of Riptide in the trailer.
