An android maid. Or is there actually two of them? 🤔
Meet Nabi (brown-haired), who is a peppy, optimistic, and slightly naive android maid who tries her best in all the tasks her master has her do. She looks up to her senpai, the head maid (unnamed at the moment), who is the secretary to the master. For some reason, her master sometimes looks pained when they look at her*. She understands that she is not human, but her personality AI is very high grade that makes her very close and she is capable of expressing sympathy. She has amnesia surrounded parts of her past including the whereabouts of the master/ head-maid who have gone missing, as though her memory has been wiped... Her name means "butterfly" in Korean.
Nerissa (blue-haired) is different personality AI embedded within Nabi's body, who is designed to be a combat maid. She is cold, calculated, and follows instructions to a T -- although she is only truly obedient to her master. You can tell when she appears as the hair shifts to a blue colour, usually when danger/combat is sensed, although those with permission can manually turn Nabi into Nerissa. Nabi herself, although being the "main" personality AI, is not aware of Nerissa that is within her... Nerissa means "sea nymph"
Main themes: Butterfly / metamorphosis (Nabi) + Mermaid (Nerissa).
Will she fade into sea foam or transform into a beautiful butterfly?
*Nabi is likely based off of someone the master knew/ cared about -- I'm guessing a younger sister or something. That's in my head anyways IDK if the DM will make it canon but that's my explanation for myself

Scrapped Plot ideas in my ocean entity au!
(Warning for brutal torture mentions, the last one is dark)
- Miko was gonna be sharing her ocean dimension with a Nessie (lock ness monster) this got scrapped since I added Peppy and then Sage, i just had no where to put her in, especially after Mr.Cuddles.

- Janet was originally gonna lose empathy for a bit, but would have gotten it back before any major damage.

- peppy was originally supposed to die to give Janet enough to assimilate a sea lion styled tail instead of the fish mermaid like legs.

- Jack was originally gonna be a dragon of sorts.

- Cassie was added in because of inspiration of Grand Manan.

- in the old scraps, Janet\June would have met Art the clown in the middle of his killings, they fight before learning they are both immortal (somewhat). Janet was originally gonna strike a deal with Art that he could use her as a torture test of sorts.
This was originally gonna cause some drama (and trauma) with the bots, specifically Arcee since it was originally planned for Art to just walk through the garage with her there. Weapons in hand.
This was all scrapped in the bin for how violent it was, sure the Thing is brutal, but using someone as a torture test was too much for me to add.
Ask in the ask box on your thoughts and questions about the Au!

The Ultimate Story the Beginnings Chapter 12-Misty Reveals a Secret
One day, Slippy decided to test some of his equipment. The others came along to see what he was up to. Fox: “Hey, Slippy, what are you doing?” Slippy: “Oh, hi, guys, I was thinking about testing some of my underwater equipment.” Fox: “Really? Sounds great.” Slippy: “There’s just 1 problem: I left all of our scuba gear on the Great Fox.” Fox: “What?” Falco: “Are you kidding me!?! You’re picking now of all times to test some of your equipment!?!” Peppy: “Oh, Slippy, not again.” Slippy: “I know…I left this equipment sitting out for quite a while and I want to make sure this stuff actually works before it’s too late.” Misty: “Maybe I could be of some help.” Fox: “What? What do you mean?” Misty: “Guys, um…you have been my best friends since the day we met and…I think it’s time that I show you something.”
She walked towards the water. Slippy: “Oh, right, she’s a fairy. She could help us out.” Lisa: “Actually…we fairies are not good with helping people underwater.” Slippy: “What!?! Then what is she doing!?!” Lisa: “You’ll see.”
Misty floated above the water in front of her friends. Fox: “I hope she knows what she’s doing.” Lisa: “I hope so, too. We have been practicing this for a while now.”
As Misty held her arms out, the water begins to rise up. Fox and his team watched with amazement as the water began to swirl around her. After the water broke off, Fox and his friends became very surprised. Meanwhile from someplace very far away, Ly opened her eyes. Ly: “It has begun.”
Misty then lowered herself into the water. She looked up at all of her friends. Lisa flew closer to her. Lisa: “That was wonderful, Misty! You’ve done it!” Misty: “Thanks. I couldn’t have done it without you.” Lisa: “It was no problem.”
Fox and his friends started freaking out. Slippy: “You’re a mermaid!?!”
She nodded. Slippy: “Oh, this is perfect! Now you can help us out!” Misty: “Um…to tell you the truth, I’m kind of new to this form and, I don’t even know what I can do.” Ly: “Misty, can you hear me?” Misty: “Yes, Ly, what is it?” Ly: “You are more susceptible to helping your friends underwater than you may think.” Misty: “Um…Ok. But what can I do?” Ly: “You can create air bubbles with your hands to help your friends breathe underwater.” Misty: “Ok, but how do I do that?” Ly: “Do you remember how you create those balls of light, the ones that tell you how well you can control your powers?” Misty: “Um…yes.” Ly: “You can create air bubbles exactly like that.” Misty: “Um…I don’t know if I can…” Ly: “You can do it, Misty. I have seen you do it, before.” Misty: “Ok, I’ll give it a try. Alright, guys, who would like to help me test my powers?” Fox: “I’ll go.” Slippy: “I’m coming, too.” Falco: “Not me, I’m staying here. Me and water just don’t mix.” Peppy: “I would like to see this first hand.” Misty: “Ok, then, come on.”
Misty dove underneath the water as Fox, Slippy and Peppy jumped into the water after her. Peach then nudged Falco to go into the water. Falco: “Alright, alright, I’ll go, stop nagging me already.”
He dove into the water after them.
While they were underwater, Misty tried as hard as she could to conjure up a bubble from her hands. At first she was unable to do it, but she tried and tried again. Fox was about to lose air but stayed underwater because he believed in her. Misty's mind: "I've got to relax, feeling tense won't help me with perfecting my powers."
She then dropped her shoulders and tried to conjure up another bubble. She was then able to conjure one up. All the guys around them became excited but were still holding their breaths. She passed the first bubble to Fox. It went around his head and he took his first breath. Fox: "Hey, it works. I can breathe." Misty: "Ok, now for the rest of you."
She then conjured up 3 more bubbles and passed them on to Slippy, Peppy and finally Falco. Falco: "Well, it's about time. I don't think I could hold my breath any longer." Misty: "Oh, shut up, bird brain. I was able to do it and that's all that matters." Slippy: "Alright, now for testing my diving equipment."
Slippy went on with testing his underwater equipment. One of them was an underwater speeder. He passed 1 on to Fox, then Peppy and finally, Falco. Slippy: “I built this equipment to be able to help us go faster underwater.” Fox: “Sounds great. We will be able to move at great speeds under here.” Falco: “(sigh) Let’s just get this over with.” Misty: “Ok, do we have any idea where we’re going?” Slippy: “Hm…let’s see, now.”
Slippy pulled out a small device and checked it. Slippy: “There should be a large shipwreck near here, since now we have the means to travel underwater, why don’t we go have a look around there?” Fox: “I don’t know, it might be too dangerous. I mean, who knows what could be inside those ships?” Misty: “Oh, come on, Fox, what’s the worst that can happen?”
Misty then swam off. Fox: “Misty, wait!! Come on, we’d better go after her.”
They went right her. As they traveled along, they watched as Misty was swimming all over the place. All the guys watched in amazement as she swam around. Peppy, however, had a concerned look on his face. Slippy: “Wow! She’s really pretty!” Falco: “You know, I’m actually sort of glad I came here. This was worth putting up with having to go swimming.”
Fox looked at Peppy and noticed the concerned look on his face. Fox: “Peppy, are you Ok?” Peppy: “Huh? Oh, yeah, I’m fine, it’s just…”
He continued looking at Misty. Peppy: “I have read about something like this in a book a long time ago.” Fox: “You mean you know something about her?” Peppy: “I’m not sure, but something about her is very similar to what I have read about.”
Fox grew a concerned look grew on his face as well.
They continued swimming on until they found a large ship in the bottom of the ocean. Slippy: “Wow, just look at that you guys. I’ve never seen anything like it before.” Misty: “What is this?” Fox: “It’s a large battle ship that sank into the bottom of the ocean a long time ago. We use to have fought in many wars.” Misty: “Wars?” Falco: “Yeah, we have a lot of enemies.” Slippy: “Not everyone in the Lylat System shares our ideals for a peaceful lifestyle.” Misty: “Aw, that’s a shame. I feel terrible for you guys.” Fox: “Thanks.” Misty: “Come on, let’s go see what’s in store for us.”
She swam off. Fox: “Misty!” Peppy: “She’s awfully headstrong.” Fox: “Come on, we have to make sure nothing happens to her.” Falco: “I’m with you on that. I would never forgive myself if any harm would come to her.”
Fox, Slippy and Peppy looked at Falco in a conspicuously annoyed manner. Falco: “What?” Slippy: “I agree with Falco on this. We have to protect her.” Peppy: “Hm…if what I read about her is true, then we must protect her at all costs.” Fox: “Alright, let’s go.”
And so they went off.
Misty got near the shipwreck. She stopped to take a good look at it. Fox: “Misty!”
She then looked back and saw Fox and his friends approach her. Misty: “Guys. Well, it’s about time you caught up with me.” Fox: “Misty, you have to be careful. There’s no telling what’s still inside all of these shipwrecks.” Misty: “Yeah, yeah, I know. Come on, let’s go inside.”
She was about to swim off, but then Fox grabbed her by the arm. Fox: “I’m serious, Misty. We need to access the situation first.” Misty: “What do you mean?” Fox: “I mean we need to understand what we’re dealing with.” Misty: “It’s a sunken ship, what more do we need to know?” Fox: “First off, we need to know if it’s dangerous.” Misty: “Dangerous, what do you mean?” Fox: “There could be traps on board that ship. For all we know, we may not be able to make it out back alive unless we know what we’re up against.” Misty: “So, what do you suppose we should do?” Fox: “We need to approach the situation carefully. Let me go first, to check if it’s safe, then you can go after me.”
Fox swam in as Misty watched. She then went after him. The others followed along.
As they traveled through the sunken space craft, they saw many things that they found gruesome. Misty: “Oh, what a horrible sight.” Fox: “This is exactly why I didn’t want you to come. This ship, as well as many others has been the final resting place for a lot of good men during our past. Many of them drowned here.” Misty: “Yikes! That’s terrible…” Fox: “Yes it was. Stay close to me.”
Fox went further in. Misty followed along as well as the others. As they traveled on, Fox protected Misty from a lot of the horrible sights that was all over the entire place. As they searched on, they arrived at one of the main rooms of the ship. There, Slippy checked the computers and found many unusual things that he didn’t expect to find. Slippy: “Hm…interesting. I never thought I would find this.” Fox: “What it is, Slippy?” Slippy: “It says here that this ship was fully functional and in good working condition and yet, it was seemingly brought down by only a few laser shots.” Fox: “But how could this be? It would take a lot of hits to bring this ship down.” Slippy: “I know. It doesn’t make sense. It seems as though even a blaster could have taken it down.” Falco: “So, what? Was this ship brought down by some measly laser blasters?” Peppy: “I don’t think so, Falco. If you could remember, you could have noticed that the exterior made the ship looked like it wasn’t crippled.” Slippy: “He’s right. The ship took on a few hits, but it was not enough to disable it to a point when it couldn’t function anymore.” Misty: “Well, the haul did seem too perfect to be a damaged ship.” Falco: “Hm, you do have a point.” Fox: “Something doesn’t add up here. If the enemy armada did not take down this ship, then what did?”
Slippy looked further into the databases. Slippy: “It says here that there is one area on the ship that was taken some seriously, heavy damage. The strangest thing is that it’s the only place inside the ship that was damaged.” Misty: “I say we go there and investigate.” Fox: “Agreed. But let’s be careful. We may never know what we could find.”
They went off and arrived at another section of the ship. There, they were shocked by what they saw. There were remains of chaos and destruction everywhere. Misty: “Oh, my gosh! What happened here!?!” Fox: “I don’t know. This is not what I was expecting to find.”
Slippy made an analysis of the entire wreckage. What he came across was something he did not like. Slippy: “I hate to tell you guys this, but this is the source of this ship’s demise.” Misty: “But what does this mean?” Fox: “It means that this ship was taken down from the inside.” Misty: “Who could have done all of this?”
Slippy analyzed the wreckage even more. Slippy: “Hm…whoever did this knew the ship all too well.” Falco: “So, what are we looking at? A spy?” Fox: “A possible turncoat.” Misty: “Turncoat? You mean someone betrayed everyone in this ship?” Fox: “Yes, and that defector sent every single person on this ship to their watery grave. We have to tell General Pepper about this.” Peppy: “Fox, are you sure?” Fox: “Yes, it would mean a lot to him if he were to hear about what we discovered down here.” Misty: “General…Pepper? Who’s he?” Fox: “He’s the leader of our planet’s army. We answer to him a lot, even though we’re…part of a…diverse group from the army.” Misty: “Hm…Ok…I guess. Let’s get out of here. I think I’ve seen enough of this place.” Fox: “Same here.”
Soon enough, they resurfaced right where they dove in. There, the girls and Rayman stood right in front of them. Fox: “Lisa, you’re not going to believe what we just saw down there.” Lisa: “I know, I maintained psychic contact with all of you while you were down there. Quite frankly, I’m shocked with what you did discover.” Fox: “I kind of figured.” Lisa: “So, Misty, you’ve managed to help the Starfox Team with your aquatic powers for the first time. How did it feel?” Misty: “It felt amazing, although I can’t say the same for what we found down there.” Lisa: “I can understand that.” Peach: “So, what will you do now?” Fox: “We’re going to report our findings to General Pepper. He needs to know about this.” Peach: “Hm…General Pepper. I can’t remember the last time I saw that guy. Quite a nice fellow if I may recall.” Misty: “So will I be able to meet this General Pepper person?” Peach: “You will, after your princess training is finished.” Misty: “What!?! At this rate, I’ll never be able to meet him!!” Peach: “Do not worry, Misty. You will, you just need to be patient, that’s all.” Misty: “Oh, man…”
Fox looked at Misty with a concerned look on his face.
Later on, Fox and his friends of the Starfox Team reported all of their findings to General Pepper. He was so stunned by the news that he didn’t care how they were able to obtain this information in the first place. The general then issued an investigation of the sunken spacecrafts and found the same results as the one that Fox and the others were searching. An immediate pursuit of answers to what the true cause to this catastrophe and who the true culprit was brought the attention of everyone involved in the Cornerian army. The general was also suspicious of the man who was called a war hero during the time of that war.
Later on, the Starfox Team met up with the girls and Rayman. Fox: “The general took a great deal of interest in this case. A full evaluation is being done now.” Misty: “How long before they find the answers they’re looking for?” Falco: “Who knows? It could be a matter of days, weeks, months. It depends on how difficult it is to process all of the damage done.” Peach: “Well, I’m just thankful that all of those soldiers who perished in that war and in all of those ships could finally be receiving the justice that they deserve so that they can rest in peace. Also, the person who was responsible for all of this gets what was coming to him and deservedly so.” Peppy: “I don’t know, Peach, that war happened a long time ago and everyone involved during that time are long gone.” Peach: “Oh…” Fox: “However, the general was suspicious of the so called war hero during that time. Even he thought something about what went on was unusual. He’s looking into this personally.” Slippy: “Well, I’m glad because from what we found out, those soldiers didn’t deserve to go like they did. If they weren’t brought down by something so terrible, the outcome of that war would have been different.” Fox: “Indeed. Misty, I would like to thank you for helping us. If it wasn’t for your powers, all of those secrets would have been left in the bottom of our oceans along with all those who drowned there.” Misty: “It was my pleasure. I’m just sorry things turned out the way they did.” Fox: “So am I.”
Peppy then cleared his throat. Fox: “What is it, Peppy?” Peppy: “Fox? Slippy? Falco? There’s something that I need to tell you regarding Misty and her aquatic powers.” Slippy: “What is it, Peppy?” Peppy: “What we experienced earlier today regards a secret that I found out in an ancient book that I discovered not long ago. It also involves her home planet Earth.” Slippy: “Earth? Really?” Falco: “There’s that name again.” Peppy: “In this book, I have discovered that she is the mystic princess of the Earth’s oceans.” Fox: “What?” Slippy: “What?” Falco: “What are you talking about, you crazy rabbit?” Peppy: “I have read that long ago, the Earth’s oceans were protected by her, until a great and powerful wizard destroyed her, but her essence survived and has been passed down from within a group of humans from generation to generation for thousands of years.” Falco: “And this you found out from a book?” Peppy: “I didn’t believe it myself until I saw her and the similarities between her and this ancient, mystic princess were uncanny but very clear.” Slippy: “Hm…yeah, I actually heard from a friend of mine who lives on Earth about a legend of a beautiful protector of the Earth’s oceans. He said it was just a folktale but he honestly believed that it was true.” Falco: “So, let me get this straight, not only is she a fairy but now she’s some mystic guardian of this planet’s water supply? This all sounds like a bunch of malarkey to me. Peppy: “Malarkey or not, Falco, it’s all true and she’s undeniable proof of all of it.”
Misty looked down in a coy manner. Fox: “You Ok?” Misty: “Yes…it’s just that…all of this is happening so fast to me. One moment, my sisters are keeping me cooped up inside our home, and the next thing I know, I’m a princess and a guardian of my planet’s oceans. It all seems like a dream to me.” Fox: “I can understand that. I remember when Lisa was undergoing some unusual changes in her life. It’s hard but I’m sure that she’ll tell you that adjusting to all of these changes is what we need to do in order to adapt.” Lisa: “He’s right. As I was becoming a fairy, I had to make a lot of unpleasant choices in my life, but I learned to live with them and you’ll eventually do the same, too.”
Misty was still coy. Lisa: “Don’t worry; it will come easy to you.” Misty: “I hope so…” Fox: “So, Lisa, is this what you meant when you said she was a princess?” Lisa: “Yes, Fox, that’s exactly what I meant.” Slippy: “So, what, now?” Peppy: “Now, the rest is up to her.” Misty: “Hm?” Peppy: “I can’t force you to make decisions that you don’t feel comfortable with. That has to come from you. What do you want?” Misty: “Well…for now, I want no one here to tell anyone else about what’s been going on with me or my powers, most importantly, my…aquatic powers.” Peppy: “Ok, that should be no problem. To tell you the truth, I was hoping you would come to that decision.” Misty: “What?” Peppy: “Your powers are unique and any malicious person would want to take advantage of you. Deciding to keep your powers a secret is a very wise decision.” Misty: “Really?” Peppy: “Of, course. I have temptations to use your powers to the team’s advantage but I’m not going to because that is not my decision to make.” Fox: “Of, course, if you would like to use your powers to help us out, then I would be more than happy to oblige, but that will always be up to you.”
Misty stood and thought for a moment. She then smiled. Misty: “Ok, I would love to use my powers to help you guys.” Slippy: “Really!?!” Misty: “Sure, but only if you promise to keep this a secret.” Peppy: “That should not be a problem at all.”
He then grabbed her by the wrist and held her hand in out. He then placed his hand on top of hers. Peppy: “We will make a pact to not tell anyone about your powers if you don’t want us to. Anyone else oblige?”
Fox then places his hand on Peppy’s. Fox: “Sure, I’ll gladly oblige.” Peppy: “Anyone else?”
Slippy then placed his hand on top of Fox’s. Slippy: “Absolutely! It will be my pleasure.” Peppy: “So how about you, Falco? Agree to join the pact?”
They all looked at Falco as he hesitated. Falco: “Sure, why not?”
He placed his hand on top of Slippy’s. Falco: “No one would believe me if I tell them, especially since I’m the last person to believe in all of this, myself.” Peppy: “Good, now let’s keep this promise and guard this with our lives. This secret will become a threat by those who seek the princess.”
Misty was surprised, but everyone else maintained serious looks on their faces. And with that, the girls and Rayman joined in as well. Lisa: “Looks like you found the friends that Ly has been talking about.” Misty: “Yes, thank you for introducing me to them.” Lisa: “It was my pleasure. I knew I could trust Fox and his teammates. They’re good people.”
Misty smiled. Misty: “They sure are.”

Shino, Demon Of The Deep
Tumblr media
Shino, also known as よしの or Yoshino in Japanese/Mizuno is a peppy deer villager from the Animal Crossing series. She’s the third of our merdeer trio after Diana and Fauna, and she’s quite happy to have a tail, especially a KOI tail!
On a clear day, you might see her out for a swim off the coast of Hikari. Her scales, oh so sparkly, are easy to notice, and hard to take your eyes off of. You’ll be left, on your boat or on the beach, just watching, admiring, loving it, YEAH!
I think it’s safe to say, Shino is perfect as a mermaid!
Her birthday is on October 31.

Chapter 13: Darling, It's Better...
The hallways grew darker as the students returned to their designated dormitories. With the exception of the literal divide between the Cerulamare girls, everything else seemed as if Elise had never left, had never been thrown into the dark world within the Coral Sea.
She saw the happy looks old friends gave each other at the beginning of the new semester and heard their rapport and laughter between them and the new freshmen already starting some groups. It was like this every year ever since she enrolled but now it all felt so alien and distant to her, like Elise herself was on the outside looking in. She quietly looked to Luna beside her as they continued to follow their dormmates towards their gate. The siren looked a bit tired but still serene. Luna had a soft smile on her face as she watched her baby sister lead the pack with confidence and enthusiasm. Cowrie was already calling back to the new girls, telling them how much fun the "welcome party" was going to be. This garnered a reaction just as divided as it was at the actual ceremony.
Years prior, Elise had never noticed the difference between the myriad of Cerulamare students, but in that moment, it was as if her transformation had gifted her a second sort of sight. The mermaids that were like Cowrie and Luna had different tells than the Atlantian mermaids: their scents, their features, though they were all in human forms, it was much easier for her to tell them apart. This must be what Luna had meant by the other girls picking up on Elise's changes. From the corner of her eyes, she could see other juniors and visiting senior girls looking her way, some even sniffing in her direction, before whispering amongst themselves. Inside she felt a wild instinct flare up in response. It was like she could feel her tentacles bunch together, propelling her to either move away or to get ready to defend. Elise jolted when she felt a hand suddenly touch her shoulder from behind. The princess whirled around faster than anyone around her was prepared for, her mouth full of ink ready to be spat in the intruder's face...until she saw who it was.
"Whoa Hey! Sorry to spook you but didn't you hear me call your name like three times??" the girl laughed in her usual playful tone.
It was Manari Ali, one of Elise's dearest friends on land. She looked just as spirited as ever, especially now that she traded in her long ponytail for a cute short style. Elise quickly swallowed the ink back down and cleared her throat. She wasn't even sure how she did it honestly, but her smile returned as she stopped and hugged her friend, "Manari! Forgive me, I was a bit distracted there. How are you? You look amazing!"
The Almascaber Prefect gave her friend a tight hug and a big smile, "A hell lot better now! I was worried sick over you all summer! Where were you?! You didn't answer any of my messages or calls! Even Reine was starting to freak a bit!"
Elise's face froze in a pleasant enough expression but she was internally screaming. She had completely forgotten to check all of the messages left on her phone when she retrieved it! Fortunately, Luna saw the panic rising in her best friend and casually slid into the conversation.
"Manari, so good to see you again," she said smoothly, "Elise is still the workaholic we've always known her to be and started her internship early this summer. Something about wanting to get ahead of the game for her transcript."
Elise mouthed a silent thank you to Luna who kept distracting Manari. Namely with the mating necklace that Floyd had gifted her. The peppy girl wiggled her eyebrows mischievously at the siren, "Oooo is that what I think it is? A mermaid mating trinket? Luna Cerith is finally off the market?? Whoo, the onslaught of broken hearts you're gonna leave behind!"
Luna playfully batted her eyes in a coy fashion as she feigned innocence, "Manari really, you make me sound so wicked," she pouted, "Alas, it is true. My darling Floyd made this beautiful necklace for me this summer," her smile turned genuinely delighted as soon as Floyd's name passed her rosy lips.
"Should I start calling you Luna Leech then?" Manari giggled.
The siren smiled happily, holding back her enthusiasm as much as she could behind her cool veneer, "Oh no. It's too soon for that. I won't be taking my love's name until after we both graduate, of course."
Elise watched the two girls talk about Luna's future with mixed feelings. Of course, she was very happy for Luna and Floyd, Jade and Cowrie too, and relieved that her two closest friends would have a future of happiness and security. She wanted nothing more than that for them. Especially now that she knew just how terrible their lives in the Muraeni house had been. Still...that same feeling of distance kept creeping upon her. It had been lingering back in the shadows for some time now. Only when the dust seemed to settle did it start clinging to her.
"Elise? Are you ok??"
Elise snapped back to the present on cue, "Y-Yes? Yes, I'm fine. Sorry Manari...I've just been working so hard on this internship, it's pretty much consumed my whole life lately," she laughed lightly. That was definitely one way of putting it. Manari looked her friend up and down skeptically.
"Uh-huh...by the way, you look different. Did you change something??"
Elise felt cold anxiety sting up her back, "What do you mean?"
"Uh your hair and eyes are different colors now...? That and, I can't put my finger on it but...you just seem really different." Manari blinked, looking more doubtful than before.
"Oh! Yes, that! Well I uh...you know it's my last year at Sacred Crown and it just felt like it was time for a change! Obviously, you agree!" Elise gestured to Manari's haircut, hoping to steer the focus away from herself.
It worked for a moment. Manari shyly laughed and played with a bit of her short black hair, "Yeah well it gets ridiculously hot in Silk City so I figured why not? Although your change feels...bigger. Did...did something happen over the summer??"
Elise exhaled in quiet relief when Jinnah suddenly called out to Manari in the opposite direction, "Yo Dorm Leader! You coming or what??"
"Ah yes," Manari laughed dryly, "That's right, I'm still the Dorm Leader. I guess I better get going. Hey, don't disappear on us again just because you're busy doing Senior stuff now ok? Reine's doing regular school and part-time royal studies off campus and she still makes time for us common folk you know?" Elise winched as her friend emphasized that last part with a sassy poke to her cheek before running off after her own dorm.
Luna quietly snickered at the guilty pout on the princess' face as they continued towards the Cerulamare gate. Elise just pouted even harder in response, "Oh you hush."
"Yes Your Highness," Luna grinned sarcastically as they reached the well portal that led to their dorm. All of the gates were scattered around the campus' main building but they all worked the same. Like the mirrors of NRC, each Sacred Crown Dorm had a large well-like door the girls would step down into. Cerulamare's was covered in barnacles and stone-carved creatures like starfish and seahorses.
The already lively Cerulamare dorm greeted Luna and Elise on the other side along with the new decor. Part of Elise had believed that Cowrie was just teasing her about the changes to the dorm uniform and overall theme of the dorm but...Elise looked up at the newly furnished entryway and immediately knew that was not the case.
What used to be a marble atrium with carved scenery of the famous prince's ship at sea was now a  room that resembled the lower decks of a much less elegant ship, complete with enchantments that made the surrounding wood creak as if the vessel was truly moving. The double doors leading to the dorm lounge were dark wood with muted blue stained glass windows and above hung a carved mermaid like those on the front of old sailing ships. Music and excited voices boomed on the other side. Luna gave the princess an amused look, "Shall we?"
Elise's jaw dropped as soon as Luna opened the door for her. The lounge was full of Cerulamare girls dancing to music with a heavy electronic beat, all dressed in the newly tailored dorm uniforms in a large room that resembled the deck. The ceiling was covered in large swatches of hanging material that looked like the sails along the sides and blue flamed candle chandeliers hung in a row down the middle. The only thing Elise recognized was the large windows that showed the aquarium surrounding their dorm.
Cowrie seemed to keep the victorian naval theme that Elise had established in her time as Dorm Leader as a base for the uniforms but with a few obvious changes. Instead of white and navy, they were now black, unbuttoned waistcoats embellished with either copper, silver, bronze, or gold depending on the year or status the student wearing it was, standard aqua blue shirts with a darker blue vest that matched their bandanas and black trousers varying in length from shorts to full pants, once again depending on the student's year. The shoes seemed to be the style of boot each girl wanted to wear along with any jewelry. In the center of the lower floor/deck was multiple rings of the students loyal to Cowrie having the time of their lives while the other girls either retired to their rooms already or stayed in the corners of the large room.  "I like the new look, don't you?" Luna spoke over the loud music to the still shocked princess next to her, "I think it suits us."
Elise stopped dead in her tracks before she could argue as she turned to a smug Luna. The siren's clothing had already shifted into her designated Senior Cerulamare uniform and she pulled it off flawlessly. It was similar to the Junior girls' with full-length pants, and knee-high boots. She didn't have an overcoat, however, and her aqua-blue blouse was off the shoulders with long puffed sleeves and fingerless gloves. She even had black and blue smokey eye makeup on that made her golden eyes and jewelry shimmer.
"Wow, Luna...you look like you should be in a movie!" Elise laughed. The siren gave her a mischievous grin in return.
"I'd say the same for you," she said as she pulled out her phone, "Smile~"
Elise did her best to at the last second only to let out an embarrassed squeak when Luna showed her the picture. She was wearing the same outfit and only seeing it on herself did she realize just how fitted a lot of it was! Her face burned bright pink as she glared around the room for Cowrie demanding an explanation. A sudden spotlight coming from the back of the lounge told her that she wouldn't have to look much further. In front of the aquarium glass sat a platform where the helm of a ship should be. Instead, there was a large, worn chair that bore the signature skull and crossbones emblem on the back of it. Seated in it was Dorm Leader Cowrie Cerith in full prefect regalia.
She wore a white victorian captain's shirt with a black neck ribbon and gold seashell brooch, a black and gold vest, black shorts, aqua fishnet stockings and black leather ankle boots to match her leather gloves. On top of all that, Cowrie wore a long, blue waistcoat over her shoulders in the same fashion Azul wore his Octavinelle coat. If all that wasn't extra enough, the cherry on top was her black and gold captain's hat, fully feathered with a big blue and teal plume. All this just told Elise what she already knew: when Cowrie Cerith set her mind to it, it became reality.
The small, proud eelmaid stood up and addressed the room with a big grin as the music softened, "Oi, oi, OI! Welcome to Cerulamare, ladies!"
The girls that had been dancing moments before all cheered with boundless enthusiasm as if Cowrie were about to lead them into battle. Luna looked on with even more sisterly pride, "It will indeed be a most interesting year..."
-
"Awww come on, it was fuuun, Ellie!"
Cowrie's coat, hat, and boots laid thrown about the large prefect room she inherited from Elise. The princess couldn't really be that upset as Cowrie laughed and bounced onto the large comfy bed. Elise soon followed after her once her shoes, bandana, and earrings were off. The princess flopped into the bed between the two sisters with a sigh, "You made quite the impression already, I'm sure."
The younger Cerith sister pouted as she rolled on her side to look at the tired princess directly, "So can I trust you not to worry about me and the dorm while you're gone?"
"I think a better question is can we trust you not to get yourself and half the dorm kicked out of school," Luna typed away on her phone with a sarcastic grin. Cowrie just stuck her tongue out at her sister before tossing a pillow at her, "I'm being serious! Stop flirting with Floy Floy and pay attention!"
Luna giggled and put her phone away before mirroring Cowrie by rolling on her side, "My little sister in all of her new prefect wisdom does have a fair point, Elise...besides, we need to focus on what comes next, don't we?"
Elise felt an anxious twist in her gut, "Yes, I suppose..."
Cowrie tilted her gaze towards the lost look on her now-octopus friend's face, "Annnd what is that exactly, Ellie?"
There was a heavy pause in the air as the siren sisters waited for her answer. They already knew about their friend's unsteady resolve. Hopefully, something had changed.  "Well...Luna and I are going to Octavinelle tomorrow night. I gave Azul the dagger so I know it's safe."
"Uh huh....and?" Cowrie was never a patient one.
"And...in a month from now...we'll all come back to Sacred Crown as 'visitors'. The campus will be open to Night Raven College and Royal Sword. So Rielle is bound to be there too," Elise sounded like she was trying to convince herself of this plan. That or like she was doing a poor job reading a script, "And then before the full moon, I will talk to Rielle. About everything. And everything will be settled and I...will go home...back to normal."
Luna and Cowrie shared a look of silent concern before looking down at Elise in her current state.
"Everything will be fine, just as it should be," she said matter of factly....with tears welling up in her eyes that stared straight at the ceiling and a pillow tightly hugged in her arms.
"Is that really what you want, Elise?" Luna's voice was soft and careful like a mother's lullaby aimed to soothe her friend.
A lump formed in Elise's throat, "I...I don't know. But what choice do I have? It's...it's where I belong, right? And Rielle deserves his life back."
"Ya want me to answer honestly?" Cowrie sighed, "I don't buy that for a second. Neither does Luna."
Luna narrowed her eyes in an irritated fashion towards her blunt sister but made no sound to disagree with or interrupt her.
"You make an awesome mermaid, Ellie. Not just any mermaid either - you're a  fearless octopus! Just like the sea witch!" Cowrie's baby blue grew wide with either excitement or desperation, Elise couldn't really tell, "You came to my rescue and did that cool camouflage thingy AND punched a shark merman in the face!"
"It's like you were born for it..."
Elise turned to Luna and saw the soft smile on her face. It didn't reach the siren's eyes, however, "With that said, this is your life, Elise. You do have a choice...one that is not mine or Cowrie's to make for you. No matter what you choose, Cowrie and I will always come to you in your time of need. Right, Cowrie?"
The younger Cerith frowned, sadness at the thought of permanent separation sinking in, "Yeah...we'll always look out for our Ellie."
Elise appreciated the two sisters more than she could ever say. It was that affection and some other feelings rising to the surface that made this all the more difficult.
-
Luna got up to dim the lights an hour or so after Cowrie finally convinced her and Elise to stay in her room that night but stopped when she heard a clicking noise. The princess had fallen asleep first right where she lay in the middle of the plush bed and there Cowrie was, taking pictures of her, without a hint of remorse.
"Cowrie, what are you doing?" Luna whispered, "Elise wouldn't want these pictures being taken of her."
"They're not for Ellie, Lu-Lu-naaa~" she giggled quietly as she began texting away on her phone.
Luna knew exactly where her baby sister's head was but only sighed playfully, "My, my, you devilish little cupid. You just love to make things more complicated don't you?"
Cowrie's grin couldn't be more devious, "Hey, you know it. I know it. Pretty sure Jay Jay and Floy Floy know it too. Buuuut the octopi need a lil' push~ and besides...this might help Ellie decide, right??"
Luna hummed before dimming the lights, "Perhaps."
-
Azul shut and locked his bedroom door with more force than usual. After what felt like hours of teasing from his own eel cohorts, he was finally allowed some privacy in his own damn room. He threw his phone onto the bed and started to change into his pajamas, grumbling the whole time with a still heated face. Just when he got comfortable under the cool covers of his bed did he hear a chime come from his now lit-up phone.
"What now?!" Azul groaned, "I swear they're relentless-"
He halted when he saw it was a message from Cowrie with several pictures attached. Once Azul opened said message, he nearly dropped his phone. There were no words, just candid picture after picture of Elise. Elise talking with Luna during what he imagined was their opening ceremony judging from the cloaks they were wearing. Elise inside the Cerulamare dorm, dressed in a very flattering outfit, talking and laughing with those around her. A selfie with her, Luna, and Cowrie all in their Cerulamare uniforms. And the coup de grâce: pictures from multiple, good angles of Elise asleep in the same flattering uniform. Her deep blue-black hair belled all around her, cascading down her exposed shoulders and back. Her sleeping face was that of a pink-lipped, long-lashed goddess. Not to mention how beautiful her figure was in those clothes. The visual ambush ended with an emoji of a face holding a finger to its mouth in a hushing motion and the words "Goodnight, Azuzu~"
Azul's face burst into an intense flush as he threw his phone in his nightstand at record speed. Thank any and all oceanic gods that Jade and Floyd had not been around when Cowrie sent that message! Those eel sisters were just as bad as their mates! Besides those pictures were meant just for him so he'd be damned if he let those demon twins even sneak a peek-
The heated octopus sat straight up and hissed in frustration, "STOP. STOP THINKING ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW."
The rest of Azul's night was split between thinking how on earth he was going to face her tomorrow night and trying to suffocate his face just enough that he would pass out. Or at least muffle the embarrassed groans that flowed freely from his mouth.
-
"We'll see you again soon. Now come on, get ready for class."
Cowrie yawned and finished putting on her classroom uniform after giving her sister and Elise a sleepy hug. The two older girls were already up and ready to start their day, which began with getting the sleepyhead prefect up and going. Elise was already huffing and puffing like a mother hen trying to comb Cowrie's ragdoll wild hair.
"You're the Dorm Leader now! If you look and act like a slob, what kind of example are you setting for the others?!"
"Ok Moooom..." the younger eel moaned like a kitten trying to get out of grooming.
"And remember, everything is normal. Nothing weird is going on, ok?"
Cowrie rolled her eyes, "Sure. Normal...."
-
"Floyd, it's time to get up."
Floyd Leech groaned something intelligible and burrowed deeper into his blankets, ignoring Jade's attempt to get him moving. The other Leech brother was already dressed, groomed, and disappointed but not surprised as he stood over his brother's bed, "Honestly Floyd, come now. It's the first day of classes..."
"IIIII doooooooonnnnnttt waaaaaannnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......" came a muffled whine from the mountain of pillows Floyd had buried himself under, "I wanna stay here...for Lunaaaa..."
Jade had done a pretty good job until now hiding the bitter envy he had felt brewing in his gut. Luna would be there, hidden away from the rest of the dorm for a whole month, meaning his brother would have ample opportunity to be all comfy with his mate. And cause more headaches for Azul and himself with his mood swings, no doubt. Meanwhile Jade would have to wait until he could see his Cowrie again...perhaps this was payback for having his stolen time with love first. That, however, didn't stop Jade from stooping low enough to do what he did next.
"Good morning, Floyd honey~"
Floyd's teal bedhead popped to the surface like a spring daisy seconds after hearing Luna's sweet voice. The stars in his eyes quickly faded when he realized that Luna was not magically there but that Jade had called and put her on speaker phone to lure Floyd out of bed. The grumpy twin growled at Jade's smug smile.
"Lunaaaaa...Jade's using you against me..." Floyd whined.
"Floyd, my love," the siren cooed from the other side of the call, "I know you're so tired, honey. But if you're a good boy and go to classes like you're supposed to, I'll spend some extra special time just with you tonight, ok? As long as you want~"
It worked even better than Jade could have imagined. He had to hold a hand to his mouth as Floyd flailed out of bed and scrambled over to his closet like an eel on a mission.
"Thank you, Luna," Jade said into his phone with a satisfied smile.
"Of course, brother dearest. Have a nice day you two~"
Down the hall, Azul was dressed, cologned, and groomed to perfection per usual...but he had never felt less ready to face the outside world in his life. He glared at his reflection in the full-length mirror with downright militant steel, "Listen here, Azul Ashengrotto. You have worked too hard and too long on perfecting your reputation to let it all go to rot over a beautiful girl! So get it together!"
The pictures that Cowrie had sent him last night only made this ridiculous crush of his worse. SO much worse! Yes, he absolutely saved said pictures to his phone but that would go with him to his grave! Azul grasped his head as if a terrible migraine hit him like a bullet train. But no, it was just the memory of Elise's candid smiles and beauty haunting him all over again.
"Ugh, why did I ever think getting involved with princesses and that stupid Rielle was a good idea?" he muttered to himself. This girl would surely be his end, one way or another. Speaking of which...'end'. Azul raised his gaze back to the mirror and tried his best to regain his resolve.
"You are here to assist her and fix what you fucked up, nothing more. Nothing!"
....Unless? Perhaps she wanted more from him? Azul snorted at his own brain for bringing up such an impossible notion. In what world would someone like Elise Coralette choose much less want to stay with a guy like him? On the surface, Azul Ashengrotto made himself out to be clever, stylish, industrious, powerful even - clearly someone of good taste all around! And yet no matter how far he tried to run from his past, it was moments like this, just him and his reflection, where all he saw was that same sad, chubby little octopus hiding away from the world in his pot. No, he could build an empire's worth of shiny reputations and she would still be beyond his reach. It left a bitter sting in his guts and made him hiss, "The sooner Elise is back home and back to her own life, the sooner I can keep moving forward and..."
Azul's mind suddenly flashed back to that moment before the princess regained her voice, a moment of kindness: "I want to see the real you..."
The Octavinelle prefect nearly jumped out of his own skin at the loud banging that threatened to break down his door. Any ease the memory may have brought was swiftly dashed.
"Azuuuul~ Let's goooo already!" Floyd didn't sound any less moody or tired. Nor did he look it when Azul threw open the door.
"Would it kill you to knock lightly like a regular person?" he spat sharply, but the twins looked past their friend's irritation with laser precision.
"Ehh? Azul...you seem really flustered, ya know?" Floyd's grin slowly spread across his face as his brother chuckled, "You ok??"
Nope, absolutely not. Azul had no time nor patience to deal with these shenanigans today. The octopus gave a vague and curt response before shuffling past the twins and speed walking down the hallway towards the dorm mirror. The twins laughed mirthfully as they followed behind at a more casual pace. Jade glanced at his phone, his smile widening as he re-read his beloved's message sent just for him. It made Jade smile and ache for her company even more. His precious little pearl. He sent a flirtatious reply while Floyd wasn't looking and continued after Azul and his brother as if it never happened.

Cowrie felt like she was stuck in limbo as she passed through each boring class, barely listening but still managing to get through any lab work required. The one thing that did make her happy was that she was at least in the same class as both Reine and Manari. The two veteran dorm leaders welcomed her to Class 3-B with open arms as she entered the room. At Sacred Crown Hall, it was a tradition for any new dorm prefects to have a 'big sister' help them in the very beginning. Reine handpicked Cowrie herself which made Cowrie very glad but also put an even bigger target on her back...
On NRC's campus, Floyd wasn't fairing much better but was determined to keep his word and go to all his classes like Luna asked him to...that and he knew the second he tried to dip, Azul or Jade would tattle on him. At that moment, Azul was entering the first alchemy lesson of his junior year, and his partner of the day? The one and only Riddle Rosehearts.
The Heartslabyul king's growth spurt didn't go unnoticed by the normally shrewd octopus but then again, neither did Azul's unusually distracted state.
"Azul why did you pass me a vial that's clearly...empty? I asked for that one right there," Riddle was giving him a look that was both confused and mildly put out.
Azul tried to play it off like it was just a simple mistake but if there was anything about Azul Ashengrotto that Riddle knew for sure, it was that he didn't just make 'simple mistakes'. Riddle saw the Octavinelle Prefect as someone on the same level of wit and magical prowess on a normal day. He'd even go so far as to call him his rival...again on a normal day. Whatever kind of day today was, Riddle wasn't sure what he was looking at.
First of all, Riddle took charge of the assignment right out the gate and Azul didn't even bother to argue. Very strange. Second of all, any verbal response that came from the aquatic dorm leader was lacking his usual confidence and polish. Riddle was better off conversing with one of the dorm flamingos!
"Azul," Riddle said with a bit more force, "Are you even trying to pay attention?"
This struck a nerve. Azul narrowed his eyes at his classmate and shoved the next ingredient into his hands, "Apologies, Your Not-Yet-Majesty. I'm afraid my very busy summer has left me a bit foggy."
"That's odd, even for you," Riddle snorted, "You've been firing on all cylinders the moment classes began for as long as I've known you," Riddle paused to stir in the brightly colored liquid into the cauldron between them before giving his partner a curious look, "So what's got you so rattled-"
A whip-crack made the two boys and half the room tense up, "I'm hearing far too much barking from you pups!" Devius Crewel scorned the boys as he walked about checking their progress.  Riddle and Azul quickly resumed their work, looking doubly focused.
"It's nothing," Azul whispered, "Just something unexpected happened that changed a lot of things. It's...it's nothing. A bit of seasonal madness. Probably from the summer heat."
Riddle blinked, then watched Azul from the other side of the cauldron before something in the other junior's body language and far-off eyes clicked in the Heartslabyul prefect's mind, "...Ahh. I see."
Azul raised his eyes to Riddle only to be met with a knowing look, "You see what exactly??"
The redhead waited until the professor was a bit further away before he grinned and whispered, "You, Azul. You look and sound a lot like I used to before."
Azul could smell entrapment a mile away in most cases but in this one, his curiosity burned far too much, "Before...?"
Riddle's smile and eyes softened as he continued the assignment, "Before I realized just how much I loved Reine. Or as you like to call it 'seasonal madness'."
Azul's whole body stiffened as if Riddle had shot him with lightning before he tried to laugh off the implication, "O-Oh?? Well, that's very romantic and all but I-"
Riddle hiked up a skeptical brow as he stared him down, daring the flustered boy to finish that thought. Instead, Azul just cleared his throat and shoved his face into their shared notes to finish making notations.
Riddle continued to stir the concoction with a smug grin, "So what's her name, Ashengrotto?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about," he fired back cooly.
"If you insist...you might want to turn the notebook right side up though."
-
Back at the Cerulamare dorm, Elise and Luna were hiding out in Cowrie's private room. They agreed to wait until the boys were available to meet them in the grotto that evening. If any of the other Octavinelle boys saw the girls sneaking about, they'd all have a lot more issues to deal with. Luna already had her hands full at that moment. The siren continued to lounge comfortably on her sister's bed without even a hint of worry. Though she did feel like she was watching a crab skitter about as Elise paced about the room.
"Something is wrong. What is it?"
The princess had a delayed reaction that left her with a deer in the headlights expression, "What?"
Luna couldn't help but laugh to herself a bit, "Elise. How long have we known each other? You may have your human friends fooled with your trained 'royal charm' routine that you've put on since middle school...but I know when you're about to have a meltdown and this is it."
Elise couldn't deny it even if she wanted to. Luna had a knowing, feline-like gaze that pinned her to the spot. When Elise hesitated, Luna sat up and patted the spot next to her. The princess flopped down face first with a long, heavy sigh.
"Did our conversation last night upset you?" the siren frowned.
"No no, it's not that so much as...I...I'm conflicted, Luna. Not just about changing back into a human..." Elise's words trailed off as she began to fiddle with her fingers. This was a nervous trait that she never showed anyone aside from the Cerith sisters.
"Something else?" Luna coaxed. When Elise didn't answer right away, a sly grin spread across her lips, "Or is it someone else?"
The signs and symptoms would've been clear as day to a normal person. For a siren? Luna could write the whole damn book herself! The pink warmth lighting up the tips of Elise's ears said it all. Luna giggled as her best friend groaned into the blankets beneath her as she hid her guilty face.
"Luna, pleeeaaassse!" her muffled cries of embarrassment only amused the siren more, "I can't talk about this right now, I'll DIE!"
Luna rolled her eyes playfully, "Ahhh there she is. Our drama queen, lovestruck once again."
"This is serious!" Elise's grumpy pink face suddenly surfaced making Luna snort, "This time is...ugh, it's so complicated!"
"Is it really? More serious, more complex, than the deep will-they-won't-they romance you and Prince Rielle allegedly shared for years...?" Luna's tone and lifted eyebrow were full of skeptical judgment.
Elise just pouted in bitter defeat, "Ok yeah I deserve that...and yes it IS because with everything that has happened and will happen probably in the near future, I'm not sure what to do."
Luna softened upon hearing Elise's genuine honesty, "Ah...the heart is a very tricky thing. One minute you feel completely in control, invincible even, and then the next, you feel so dizzy you barely know your own name."
Luna sounded oddly dreamy as she spoke. Elise smiled and turned to face her, "So...that's what the twins did to you and Cowrie, huh?"
It was the siren's turn to feel bashful as she laughed light-heartedly, "Not at first. But eventually, yes. Floyd and I were just playing a game with each other, having a bit of fun here and there whenever we got the chance but...before I knew it, he was attached. So was I. And not even the threat of my stepfather's wrath could keep him from coming after me. He's a reckless one for sure. It makes me wonder what our children will be like."
Somehow the topic of children caught Elise off guard, "You two have already talked about that??" This made Luna laugh even more.
"Of course. It's like Cowrie said before, mating amongst mermaids is a very serious thing. The only reason I acted so noncommital in the past was because of role as a siren. It was more of a work-study or transaction if anything. But now that I have my darling Floyd...well, everything is different," Luna paused at the bewildered look on Elise's face, "I forget that you were originally a human. Courtship on land works on a very different time frame in most cases, doesn't it? And it's not always for the long run."
Elise honestly couldn't talk from personal experience. She had pretty much dodged any and all serious attempts of dating or courtship thrown her way for a few reasons.
"Think of it this way," Luna continued, "Floyd and I are a lot like Riddle and Reine, give or take a few details. We've vowed ourselves to each other for the rest of our lives. It's not a casual dating sort of thing like many humans do with each other for an allotted time. Like Riddle and Reine, we're not officially 'married' but it is something definite in our future. So naturally, Floyd honey and I have talked about being together officially after we graduate which will lead to having a family of our own. Though they are a step or two behind, eventually Cowrie and Jade will be the same way. Maybe even sooner, Cowrie was much faster to open her heart to dear Jade. And they are the future Don and Madam Leech after all," Luna smiled as she remembered just how smitten her baby sister was and how fast it all happened.
Elise suddenly remembered the conversation Luna had with Manari about taking Floyd's name after graduation and how sure and happy Luna seemed about the whole thing. In fact, she had never seen the siren look more openly content since they were kids.
"You both seem so ready and confident," Elise sighed as she stared up at the ceiling, "I thought I was 'in love' with Rielle for so long and now that I know I'm not...I'm not even sure if this new one is another vapid crush or the real thing."
"Say his name."
Elise's gaze snapped back to Luna who was grinning with a sparkle in her eyes, "Rielle??"
"No, no. The new handsome fellow that has you so 'conflicted'. Say his name with a straight face." As if Luna didn't already have her very accurate suspicions. Elise could see it in her eyes.
"That doesn't prove anything!" Elise was on thin ice and knew very well that she was just trying to buy herself more time. Luna was too clever to be fooled.
"Oh no? You pined for sweet Rielle for years and yet now you can say his name like it was just another word in a dictionary. Why do you think Cowrie calls Jade 'Jay Jay'? The poor dear can barely keep it together if you ask her to call him by his full name properly," Luna giggled, "You didn't hear that from me, of course."
There was no escape. Elise knew she was done for. Luna looked ready to wait until the end of days if need be just to get the princess to be fully honest at long last. Elise hopped up from the bed and gave her siren friend a fiery look of determination.
"Ok fine. BUT you heard nothing, got it? This does NOT leave this room. EVER."
Luna just grinned and silently made a cross over her heart. Elise took a deep breath and opened her mouth...but nothing came out. If anything her face grew even more pink.
"Take your time," Luna attempted to encourage her.
This only led to about five more minutes of Elise pacing back and forth while muttering unintelligible hysterics to herself. Luna proved to be just as patient as Elise thought.
"Ok," Elise stopped and faced Luna, "Ok....A....Aaaaa...." Why was this so hard?! She took a breath and tried again, "A....A-Azul...A-A-Ashengrotto..."
Click. Elise's stomach dropped as she realized Luna had just taken her picture, "Luna I swear to-"
The princess froze as Luna turned the phone around to show her a picture of her own very pink, very giddy face. Oh...she was in trouble.
Elise covered her face once again and groaned, "Oh great Triton's BEARD..."
She had never heard Luna laugh so hard in her life but even so, Elise kept her embarrassed face hidden. After the laughter died down, she felt Luna's arms envelop her.
"See? What did I tell you?" the siren still had a bit of mirth in her voice but it was gentle nonetheless, "Didn't I say you deserved a mate that was more your speed, my lil octopus? Seems you have good taste after all."
Elise hugged Luna tightly while still hiding her face, "Luna, stop teasing meee....how am I going to face him now?!"
"Ara ara~ So dramatic..." Luna sighed and patted the princess on the head, "Reminds me of dear Reine that night in the Mostro Lounge. Though she and Riddle-kun were much further along than you and Azul-kun, surprisingly enough."
Elise felt a flutter in her gut as Luna compared her and Azul to an actual couple that was already committed to a future together. It also made a few gears begin to turn. Was there a chance...?
"Luna," Elise's voice was strangely timid and soft, "What should I do?"
"If you're asking me..." Luna pondered for a beat as she began to tenderly stroke the worried girl's hair, "I'd say do as much as you can to not have any regrets in the time you have left."
-
The setting sun made Cowrie's empty room look even more lonely somehow. She silently entered and locked the door behind her before dropping her book bag by the desk and flopping back down on the spacious bed. She knew any minute now her Vice Prefect would be knocking on her door for whatever reason but for now, Cowrie Cerith just wanted to deal with the impending sadness her empty room had in spades.
She pulled her phone from her skirt pocket and read through the messages she and Jade had exchanged throughout the day. Then the couple of messages from Reine and Manari. Then Alyssa. As she was reading the last message, a notification for a new message from Luna popped up. The message was short and sweet but still made Cowrie bolt up with an excited gasp.
"I think it's going to happen soon."
-
Floyd was practically beating down the door that led to the dorm's landing port as soon he, his brother, and Azul finished closing down Mostro Lounge for the night. As far as he knew, Luna had been waiting for him for hours and he refused to keep her waiting for a second longer!
"Calm down, Floyd!" Azul hissed at him quietly as he pushed the impatient eel aside to open the door, "Do you want to wake the entire dorm?!"
Jade clapped a hand over Floyd's mouth as he began to whine loudly, "Just a tiny bit longer, Floyd. Be patient."
The moody eel's patience lasted just long enough to let Azul open and shut the door behind them. Jade and Azul barely turned around when they heard Floyd splash into the water below and take off to the grotto like a shot. Jade couldn't help but chuckle at his brother's enthusiasm as Azul followed after him. The second Leech brother returned to the hallway to make sure the rest of their students stayed put for the night.
"Lunaaaa!"
Azul rolled his eyes as he could hear Floyd long before he entered the grotto. The siren giggled sweetly as her lover wrapped his long tail around hers like a giddy snake and continued to plant kisses all over her face and neck, "I missed you too, Floyd honey. But settle down, love, or do you want everyone to know we're here?"
He merely thumped the end of his tail against the ground as he kissed her lips in response. Azul looked around the grotto for Elise but felt a sting of worry when she was nowhere to be found.
"Azul-kun..." Luna caught his attention as she wrapped her arms around her puppy-like beau, "She's in the seaweed forest just over the ridge. Go check on her, won't you?"
The coy sparkle in Luna's molten eyes sent a shiver up Azul's spine. That and the notion of alone time with the princess after stewing in his own hormonal brain juice all day. Still, he managed a nod and left the grotto to the lovey-dovey pair.
The water over by the seaweed forest was one of the more dark areas but then again, that's what made it ideal for privacy. Azul silently tried to keep his nerves in check as he swam through the long tendrils of foliage but they all came to a head once he caught Elise's sweet scent. The tiny bit of light that did find its way here caught the deep blue of her soft hair and the ethereal sheen of her black and blue tentacles. Her back was to him but Azul still felt the tension in his body just from being this close to her. He cleared his throat the best he could, "E..Elise?"
Her bright turquoise eyes nearly ended him right on the spot. If that didn't do it, her shy smile almost did.
"Hi, Azul...c-can we talk?"

Manatsu was really not looking forward to the future.
She had all these goals and motivations but they changed with the tides of the sea, essentially. She didn’t have anything concrete to dedicate herself towards like a career she wanted or a singular passion to follow. It was really scary to look her beloved homeroom teacher in the eyes and submit a blank form which was meant to help sculpt her future.
   Scarier still…
Asuka was graduating soon. Really soon. So soon, in fact, that Manatsu couldn’t even call its closeness the future. It was next week. And then it was tomorrow. And then it was today. That’s how soon that Asuka was graduating and Manatsu was ending her own academic year on a low.
It had been a weird year, to say the least.
Obviously it had happened. Manatsu wasn’t going to say otherwise but it felt like only half of it had happened. Or that it had flown by so quickly that she couldn’t remember half of it had happened. Or maybe it was something else entirely, some gap and mixing but all Manatsu knew for certain was that for all the strangeness of memories that seemed patchworked together, they were precious memories.
The Tropical Club had been a lot of fun. Her, Sango, Minori, Asuka, and, er, that other person. Oh! Her homeroom teacher, of course, that had to be it. She was just forgetting Sakuragawa-sensei and her important bureaucratic, teacherly duties for the club. Nope, no one else. Not a single person, human, animal, or otherwise. That would just be silly now, wouldn’t it? No such thing as, er, mermaids.
Anyways, the Tropical Club was so nice for Manatsu to just have a place to be herself, learn and share new skills, get to know an eclectic bunch of other students not just in her class but in upper classes, too. She had made really good friends with all the girls but there was something about Asuka especially which just fired Manatsu up.
She was just… really cool. Cool like a big sister was and Manatsu, being an only child and the oldest child on the island she came from, really admired the maturity and naturality that Asuka had. When she played tennis, she made it look so effortless and though she was resistant to the idea of being the Club President, in the end she took to it like a duck to water.
It was going to be really sad to see her go. Manatsu didn’t want to see her go. She didn’t want to say goodbye either. She didn’t want the present to continually march onwards and outwards into the thing called the future but there was nothing that she could do about it.
Inevitably, the graduation had to take place and it did.
The school’s auditorium was filled up, every row, every student all correctly placed inside of it. There were end of year awards and speeches and announcements, a girl from the music club even did the national anthem on piano upon request. The whole affair was stupendously boring, so boring that it brought tears to Manatsu’s eyes.
Not at all because it meant that she had to say goodbye to Asuka but…
When Asuka was called by the principal to take her middle school diploma and a letter from her homeroom teacher, Manatsu was bawling. Her heart was breaking. She couldn’t describe the finality of it, just that it hurt and it hurt so bad. She wasn’t going to see Asuka easily ever again, they were on different life paths and she had other things going on in her life.
   Manatsu was just a friend.
But Asuka was her first crush.
And Manatsu had no idea if at all Asuka ever saw her as something beyond an annoying, peppy lower classman.
Every dollop of attention that she got from such an initially aloof girl became so very precious to Manatsu over the span of the school year. She thought of how they visited her home island for the break and the adventures they got up to over there; she thought of learning to play tennis with Asuka and other things, too.
All in the span of time it took for Asuka to get up on the stage, do all the handshakes, get her photograph taken. Oh, it was really unfair. But gosh, Asuka had worked really hard to get that sporting scholarship.
(Maybe if Manatsu worked hard, in two years’ time, she could go to the same high school as Asuka but… nah… That would never happen. For all her boundless energy, when it came down to it, Manatsu was a flake, after all.)
When the formalities of the graduation ceremony were over, when the official party had long since walked out the doors, row by row, the remaining teachers had the students leave. The first go, of course, were the seniors and the last to go were the freshmen and first-years.
But Manatsu was eager to get out. She didn’t want anyone to see how red and sticky she was with crying. Though, in her defence, it really was her first, proper graduation ceremony. All she wanted was to see Asuka one last time. Though, she didn’t know for certain if it would be last and just how last it was. It wasn’t like Asuka was dying or anything. She was just leaving. Just graduating.
Manatsu moved through the lingering crowds, feeling caught and claustrophobic in their waves but eventually she caught sight of Asuka. Asuka caught sight of her as well and gave her a friendly signal, to beckon her closer. Manatsu felt her heart leap out of her chest as she clawed at her face, trying to scrub off all her tears.
Asuka, noticing how puffy Manatsu’s face was, slipped away from her Dad and brother’s side. Wanting to be polite to Manatsu. They ended up by a tree in the square, not too far from where the other Takizawas were but it was private enough for one last chat between them both: the graduating upperclassman and the remaining lowerclassman.
“Gee Manatsu, you’re really taking my graduation to heart, huh?” Asuka commented.
“Sorry.” Manatsu blubbered. “I don’t mean it but… I'm gonna miss you.”
“I’ll miss you too, and the rest of the Tropical Club, but Minori’ll be a good president, promise, and I bet you any money the year after it’ll be your turn and you’ll have some cute little freshies to look after.” Asuka laughed but Manatsu didn’t laugh with her.
She knew that Minori would be a good president for the club. She was studious and so well-read, she came up with a lot of ideas for club activities through her books but it just wasn’t going to be the same, Manatsu knew and agonised. She wanted Asuka. She had picked Asuka.
“C’mon, cheer up, please, it’s making me sad that this is how I’ll remember you on the day I graduate.” Asuka said.
“Sorry.” Manatsu continued to blubber, even more miserable than before this time.
Asuka placed her hand on Manatsu’s shoulder and that made Manatsu shiver. Asuka’s hand was warm. Important and mature, elegant in only a way a budding athlete’s hand could be and it instantly made Manatsu perk up. She straightened up, her eyes brightened as she looked up to meet Asuka’s eyes.
“That’s better, now promise me, you’ll be a good girl in the coming years. Make me proud, Manatsu.” Asuka said.
“I - I will.” Manatsu stammered, holding her hands in front of her, as fists, her cheeks reddening but now out of determination than bluster. “I’ll get good grades and I’ll get more recruits for the Tropical Club and-”
“I know you will.” Asuka said and she leaned in.
Hand still on Manatsu’s shoulder, she kissed the middle of Manatsu’s wide, shiny forehead. Manatsu blinked. Her heart stopped. Asuka’s lips were all soft and pretty and to have them smack bang in the middle of her forehead. It was like nothing that Manatsu had ever thought possible. Even in her wildest flights of fancy, when she was all worked up about her crush, did she ever pause to consider what the actions of it might look like but there was something bittersweet to Asuka’s violet eyes as she pulled back from after this chaste kiss.
Manatsu recognised, however, what that bittersweetness was. She was certain she had seen it before. In her Dad’s eyes, maybe? When she had left the island to live on the mainland but no. His eyes were rough. What Manatsu recognised, what was in Asuka’s eyes right this minute, was so much softer, so much sadder, so much lonelier. But it was what it was regardless of these minute details.
   This was goodbye.
This was, specifically, a goodbye kiss and that took some wind out Manatsu’s sails. Even if her heart was still frantic about it.
“Thank you for giving me a fantastic final year, Manatsu, I appreciate it.” Asuka said but she erred. “Even if I feel like I don’t remember half of it…”
Manatsu almost piped up, “Me too,” but she kept her gob shut.
“This school is lucky to have you, Manatsu, and I’m lucky to call you a friend. So, this is goodbye but not forever, yeah?” Asuka said. She tilted her head to the side just slightly as she smiled with teeth.
“Yeah.” Manatsu agreed. She nodded her head vigorously, her ponytail bouncing.
Asuka smiled and she waved Manatsu goodbye. She watched as Asuka regrouped up with her Dad and brother. Distantly, Manatsu heard Sakuragawa call for her and the others from her class and she felt her stomach twist but she had to hold onto Asuka’s words, onto her gesture.
This was goodbye but not forever. That was the mantra that Manatsu had to hold onto, hold on very tightly too, even if she didn’t realise the entire gravity of that statement and what it meant for both her and Cure Flamingo Takizawa Asuka.

AINI character profiles
I was reading some interviews with Okada, and it turns out he introduced three characters in each interview. I copy-pasted them into this post along with their full-body renders because I feel like a lot of people haven’t seen this stuff. I’m not re-sizing the images to make them all fit nicely (sorry) so click on them to see the full thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tokiko – VA: Laura Post – Japanese VA: Yoko Soumi – President of Naixatloz Japan Branch The president of Naix Japan. A believer in Simulation Theory, she sincerely believes that the world she lives in is fake and was created by someone. According to her, the purpose of Naix is to find a “seam” that should exist somewhere in this world, to bring down the false world, and to lead people to liberation.
Chikara – VA: Frank Todaro – Japanese VA: Mitsuru Ogata – Director of Horadori Institute of Genetics A brilliant scientist who established the Horadori Institute of Genetics at a young age. The institute mainly researches DNA treatment and gene therapy. As the investigation of the Half Body serial killings progresses, the Institute’s involvement with the mysterious “Bats490” video, suspected to be related to the case, emerges. As the director of the institute Horadori also becomes a target of ABIS’s investigation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Masked Woman – A mysterious person. Appears to be female based on body shape.
Lien -VA: Y. Chang -Japanese VA: Hidenori Takahashi -Unemployed – A young man who frequents Matsushita Diner, Lien was there when Ryuki went to the diner as part of his investigation. He had recently lost his job, and was alone at the diner, mourning his loss, but found love at first sight with Kizuna and proposed to her on the spot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fans will remember internet idol Iris, also known as A-set or Tesa, as the bright and peppy teenage girl who was internet and social media savvy. Her interest in the occult and urban legends is still strong. Now, Iris is a senior at Sekiba High, and she is also part of the dance studio. She witnesses the sudden appearance of half of a dead body alongside Mizuki.
A brand new character for the sequel, Kizuna is part of Iris' dance club and a good friend to her and Mizuki. She is the daughter of an extremely rich family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another new character, and a professional comedian. His TV appearances haven't been very successful, but he has made a living as a quiz show host. He was the host of a webcast where the right half of a dead body suddenly appeared.
6th Grader. Komeji’s son. His parents are divorced. He lives with his poor comedian dad, but despises him. In the same grade as Mizuki, but doesn't seem to have much contact with her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Owner of Brahman World Cuisine. He runs a restaurant called Brahman in Golden Yokocho. Always wears a mask for some reason. His cooking is excellent. The restaurant is frequented by members of ABIS.
Made Café Maid. A Sekiba High Senior and "Mermaid" at Sunfish Pocket. She has a sharp tongue, but is never really malicious. She's in the school dance club with Iris and Kizuna. A regular at Brahman and close with Gen.
(Me taking over) I find it interesting that most if not all of these characters are as they appear in the past/Ryuki’s story based on gameplay screenshots. The only person I remember seeing future!Mizuki with off the top of my head is The Masked Woman.
I remember the character introduction yt video describing Lien as a locksmith, so maybe he’s unemployed in the past and then gets a job in Mizuki’s time?
Odd that Iris is re-introduced to us while none of the other old characters are. Hrm
I learned some new things from this, like Tokiko and Naix’s beliefs and goals, that Komeji and Shoma are father and son, and that Kizuna comes from money. I like how much context these descriptions add.
Edit: about Naix, the purpose of the Hidden Bats experiment is probably to test bugs in the “simulation”. One of the secret messages in the ARG talks about how superhuman abilities are considered glitches in The Simulation, so they could be testing the subjects’ SHIFT abilities to locate and break that seam Tokiko wants to find.
Edit 2: looking back on the box art, I think those designs at the bottom might be the Mizuki-time ones. Amame and Kizuna, who are teens in Ryuki-time, look different, like Kizuna is missing her hat for example and Amame seems to have her hair down instead of pigtails. I remember people mistaking Shoma, who’s Mizuki’s age, for Ota. But the adults don’t look too different. Either Tokiko’s at a weird angle or she gets a haircut.
Interesting that that Masked Woman isn’t on the box art as her own thing. Implying that she’s one of the people already there, perhaps?

@multistoty asked: ❛ i'm so excited! there's so much i have planned for us. ❜ -Enid to Wednesday
Tumblr media
Wednesday just blinked. Face passive, but eyes subtly widened in unspoken horror. The sheer hyper energy radiating from the oddly bright werewolf was frankly the most terrifying thing the raven haired Addams had ever experienced - and she'd been forced to watch The Little Mermaid at a peppy summer camp when she was twelve. "By us, you mean you, yes? I don't recall agreeing on an itinerary."

An Introduction to Guiding Light!
So! You're here because you wanna hear about Guiding Light, right? Well! No better way to get you familiar with it than an intro post.
What is Guiding Light?
Guiding Light is an original universe that I've been developing for a while now. It first became a thing in 2018 after a YouTube ad of all things inspired me. Back in 2021, I dusted off the nearly untouched concept and began working on it more. I entered an invigorating creative rush for about a year where I created characters, wrote stories, drew art of this world I was creating, and eventually came to adore. Guiding Light, like many of my other original universes, is made with the intent of it becoming a game a few years in the future. Inspired by Hollow Knight, I've thought it as a 2D Metroidvania! The plot of Guiding Light follows Everett, the prince of an underwater kingdom learning about the past and history of his kingdom while trying to prevent its impending downfall. He is equipped with a Light (hence the name), a magical crystal tethered to his soul that protects and guides him. He is one of many 'Lightbearers' in this kingdom. The appearance of these Lights is heralding the appearance of a disastrous entity known as the "Cambrite", who seeks to scrub this kingdom off the face of the earth and start anew. The Lights serve as harbingers and a way to fight off the Cambrite. Unfortunately, all of the others Lights have been 'tainted' and are practically useless. Not even their bearers can think for themselves... The game would follow Everett's task to untaint the Lightbearers and banish the Cambrite for *good.* Speaking of the Lightbearers...
What are the 'Seakin'?
As I've spent the last year and a half on a creative surge, I've fallen in love with the characters I've made. If you ever hear me talk about my "fish kids", I'm almost certainly talking about my Guiding Light characters. Seakin make up most of the non-sealife population of the kingdom. They're somewhat similar to mermaids, but not quite! Seakin take the form of normal humans on land, with the only difference being their glowing hands. Once they're submerged, however, Seakin will gain fins on their arms, backs, and gain a tail, all while keeping their legs, too! Of course, this does mean they're all able to breathe underwater and swim just as good as any other fish would. There are tons of different kinds of Seakin, one for just about every sea creature! Jellyfish, whales, dolphins, even things like leviathans can be Seakin!! Another note! There are a total of 12 Lights, one for each Zodiac, and by extension a total of 12 Lightbearers. I won't go into the lore in this post, but know that presently, there are 9 Lights in the hands of young, living Lightbearers, and 3 in the hands of deceased ghosts. All but two of the living Lightbearers are Seakin! One of the deceased Lightbearers is a mer.
Who are the Characters?
As I've said before, I have fallen in love with the characters I've created. I'll talk about each of the Lightbearers in more detail later, but here's the breakdown! Everett is the main character of Guiding Light. He is the prince of the kingdom, characterized by his friendly demeanor and his courage. He is in possession of the blue light, his sign is Aquarius, and he plays a harp! Ress is a confident and peppy Mershark. He is the first Lightbearer that Everett encounters, and is a bit scared of him at first. After a while, however, the two became best friends and attempted to go find the other Lightbearers together! Ress' light is red, his sign is Taurus, and he plays a horn. Isa is a curious and friendly human who accidentally drifted out to sea on her own. She was very obviously lost, but didn't seem too interested in leaving, realizing that her Light was so important. Plus, she was moved by Everett's friendliness. Isa's light is green, her sign is Virgo, and she plays the bells. Oliver is a reclined but friendly stingray who doesn't actually like the sea too much. He'd much rather stargaze alone, but he won't stop his buddies from joining him. He plays a shaker, his light is beige, and his sign is Scorpio. Maria is a Flying Fish Seakin. She hangs out with the sirens and mers a lot, and is expected to be a great singer. She isn't confident in her voice, though, and doesn't actually sing much. Instead, she plays a flute! Her light is white and her sign is Pisces. Whipus is a shy and very bottled-up jellyfish who really doesn't want to leave the company of their moon jelly friends. They're skittish and tend to hide from danger rather than run as jellyfish Seakin are not the greatest in terms of speed. Whispus was great friends with Everett, however, after he showed them that he wasn't an enemy. Whispus' light is purple, they play a pan flute, and their sign is Capricorn. Enoch is another quiet Seakin, this time a Blue Glaucus. He's not lazy, just tired. He doesn't do much, drifting along the currents and keeping to himself. He's among the older of the Lightbearers. He plays various percussion instruments, his light is cyan, and his sign is Libra. Nessie and Pudge (my favorites, aside from Everett) are Leviathans! They're the two bearers of the same light. They're a bit freaky at first, being Abyssals and all, but they're quite nice when you get to know them. Nessie is the more civilized, quiet-minded one, and can speak common-tongue with Everett. Pudge, however, is the more rambunctious, feisty twin, and cannot speak much common-tongue. The two of them play violins, their light is black, and their sign is Gemini, hence the twin bearers. Finally, Phalla is the smug and relaxed Squid Pirate! She isn't actually a pirate, she just looks the part and hides among pirates to punish them for trying to get into the kingdom. She's like a teasing older sister to Everett! She's also another older Lightbearer. Phalla plays a violin (different from the twins), her light is pink, and her sign is Sagittarius.
A Game? What's that About?
That's right! A game! Like I discussed before, I want to turn Guiding Light into a 2D Metroidvania, inspired by Hollow Knight and Ori. I've imagined the way bosses could work, or certain 'stealth' sections, or the way enemy encounters could work. With this being a story about an *underwater* kingdom, most of the gameplay would be underwater. Swimming, bolting through water, fighting enemies and bosses in limitless directions. There are ground areas too, like islands or parts of the palace. I have *zero* game design experience, but I can only imagine how hard it would be to get something to move so smoothly in a space where every direction is a place you can move without having to jump. That's planned for the future, though, and I've got a long way to go...
How has Guiding Light Affected you?
Guiding Light *has* affected me, believe it or not. It was such an invigorating rush to create something with that much attention, and I adored the characters I made, and I keep trying to work on this idea more, but I've unfortunately developed all that I can. All that's left to do is share the ideas I already have. Not only has Guiding Light given me such a lovely comforting universe to lean on, it has also changed my aspirations. When I was developing these characters, I was doing research on the odd and beautiful sea creatures I had based these characters around. Before I hit that creative surge, I didn't have this much appreciation for the oceans. But now that I've learned so much making these characters, I've fallen in love with the ocean so much. Guiding Light, an original world I had made, changed my aspiration from solely game design to marine biology. I've been to several aquariums this year, I've learned so much about the wonderful animals we share the seas with, I've found peace by the seaside. I don't joke when I say that Guiding Light *really* did change me. I hope to one day make my dreams of Guiding Light a reality, and spread the love for the world I've made. I hope to attract others to the ocean, and really appreciate just how wonderful it is.

Ruby, Transformed Under The Full Moon
Tumblr media
Ruby, also known as ルナ or Luna in Japanese/Mizuno, is a peppy rabbit villager from the Animal Crossing series. It might have been monaca:factory’s music or something, but I was impulsed to draw this rabbit. I’m not sure, not gonna lie.
Anywindmill..
As you would expect, Ruby became a mermaid under the moons light in a H2O-like scenario. It definitely felt surreal, because those eyes tell a million stories, and one of them involves such transformation.
The merrabbit tends to be a lone wolf, swimming alone only at night. Unlike other mermaids, she’s nocturnal, sleeping throughout the day, to come out and show her tail at the crack of dusk.
It’s unknown who exactly turned her, but in the light of recent events, Sasha has been suspected of such.
I say that like it’s a bad thing.. Geez, I should let the two enjoy themselves.
Her birthday is on December 25.
