I was feeling extremely suicidal today, like the worst I have in maybe four or five years now, and I was deliberating over whether I should go to the hospital like pretty much all day and now that I feel better I realise that the moment I started drafting my suicide note in my head was probably when I should’ve decided that 😭

#it’s so hard to think logically in the moment though; and I didn’t want to worry my dad or my partner #even though me killing myself would hurt them more obviously lol #I’m glad I feel better though #finally at like 5pm after doing all the chores and getting dressed and making meals and napping and going outside and exercising and calling #people and watching my favourite things #and none of it made even the slightest difference #(and I was drafting my suicide note) #I was like alright I need to do something about this because I’m gonna get exhausted and lose the fight pretty soon #which is always how my suicidality has been #I’ve never made a plan I’ve just come very very close to being worn down by the constant obsession and just giving in #which is hard to explain to ER nurses! #anyway. as soon as I decided that it instantly was like a cloud went away so that was weird as hell and I still don’t get it but at least I #don’t want to die as much anymore! #I’m seriously good now; like just normal sad and tired #but it does scare me that it took me so long to decide to go to the hospital #cause that was really cutting it close for a while there 😬 #I don’t trust myself to get it right the next time. but hopefully I’ll remember this and just go #anne speaks #now I’m just dying over how hilarious it was that I was literally drafting my suicide note and still was like hmm I wouldn’t want to worry #my partner so I don’t think it’s wise to go to the hospital. #like girl?? what??? #suicidality tw #tw suicidality #suicide mention #suicide tw #tw suicide #all the trigger tags cause this post is pretty graphic lol #but anyway I’m totally safe now #wouldn’t want anyone to worry if you’re the type to worry about this #:-)

The fact that Main-verse Ooo is as good and as kind as it is (relative to the other universes shown so far, at least, it's obviously not perfect) all because of the same character that starts off as the OG series' antagonist, the person we were made to see as the bad guy (albeit an often ineffectual one) for several seasons, is making me lose my mind.

Imagine finding out the guy you spent your childhood beating up and saving princesses from is in fact a driving catalyst behind you being able to exist, and not only exist but also live in a world that knows what kindness is. All because that man, the same man who you've witnessed do terrible things, once met a little girl and taught her how to be good.

Simon's story really shows us that even if you lose your way and forget how it is to be good yourself, the world keeps the memory for you. That act of love Simon showed Marcy by protecting her and seeing her as more than the monster she thought herself to be created ripples upon ripples, small at first but eventually enough to help give their wreckage of a world—a world that easily could have been forsaken, its goodness overlooked because of its inhospitable remains—a chance to grow into something beautiful. Because of those very same ripples Simon created, the people of Ooo grew up in a world where they know enough about kindness that they were able and willing to spare the 'bad guy' some, to see beyond the wreckage and allow him to grow too.

In saving Marceline, Simon helped to not only to save the world, but also himself.

They chose to treat him nicer and actually be friends with him. #One thing i always loved about IK's story is that he didn't have to completely change himself for people around him to treat him better #They changed their perspective and were kind to him and it was THAT that helped him change. to grow beyond the 'antagonist' role #to quote my go to and all time favourite good place quote: #'the point is people improve when they get external love and support. How can we hold that against them when they don't?' #Arrgh sorry I just always loved Ice King's arc in the show. From pesky antagonist to the person Finn dived into a chaos god to save #(the world's new beginning and its near ending being all because of simon. he has such main character energy and boy does he not want it) #And now we're getting Simon stuff and I'm so normal I'm so normal I'm so normal (<- has never been normal about this character) #(i...i have many MANY drawings of ice king and simon from 2015 and the years after. i was doomed from the start. F&C was the final straw) #(as was reading marcy's secret scrapbook recently...and here i thought i'd truly reached the capacity of hurt i can feel about these two) #Going insane over these last two episodes. 'she didn't have a me'. Fionna and Simon bonding. Gumlee kiss. PETRIGROF BACKSTORY #and the implication that Simon isn't remembering it accurately? Their sweet sounding love song actually foreshadowing their issues? #I am clawing at the walls. thank you AT crew you are enriching the enclosure that is my brain

question: how did you discover/get into scooby doo?

this is something i'm always so interested to hear, being that there are few people who don't have at least some small tie to the franchise. whether you would consider it one of your biggest current interests or it's just something nostalgic from your childhood, i'd love to know how you found scooby and what it means to you!

#for me it was my dad! he grew up with the original show and wanted to introduce it to me #so one day when i was maybe? seven?? he came home with the winter wonderdog dvd and we watched it that night #from there we watched every single scooby doo movie that had ever been made #and got the new ones as they came out in subsequent years! #watching a new scooby movie with my dad every weekend are honestly some of my favourite childhood memories #also what's new scooby doo had also started airing on one of the main cartoon channels here in the uk around 2010 #so that's the show i watched the most consistently as a kid #velma was my original favourite of the gang because i looked a lot like her (big glasses/same haircut/etc.) #people would always compare me to her and it genuinely gave me a lot of confidence in my appearance that stays with me to this day #but fred was always my firm second favourite - he made me laugh the most of any character #and took on a deeper meaning to me in my adolescence when i realised i was autistic and strongly identified with his portrayals as such #the characters are probably what's kept me coming back all this time - they've been with me forever #and i love them individually + as a team who support each other with their unique skills and love for one another #but also the wacky adventures and general aesthetic #many people joke about the basic plot being the same every time but it makes my autistic brain happy #i love permanence and consistency baby!!!!! #and the different variations on that same formula always keep things fresh and fun #anyway ramble over #looking forward to hearing you guys' responses! :D #scooby doo #nem misc posts :]

I have literally no influence on even the smallest section of this website so I don’t know why I’m posting this, except that I really feel that tumblr would love it:

If you’re going to Edinburgh (or already live there), and you like old houses, you might enjoy Gladstone’s Land. It’s one of the oldest houses on the Royal Mile; it’s tall and thin (six storeys above ground) with a forestair, arcaded shopfront and Renaissance painted ceilings; you can visit three floors, or stay for a holiday on one of the others, and there’s an ice cream parlour/coffee shop on the ground floor; and there are also special private tours (for example, a sexual history of Edinburgh) which I really feel would be right up the tumblr history community’s street. 

It doesn’t take very long to go around so it depends how much someone wants to spend like £7 on visiting an elderly Scots tenement but as someone who liked visiting very much, I do feel it gets overlooked and could give people a much better idea of Edinburgh’s history than some of the other stuff on the High Street, a lot of which is aimed at entrapping unfortunate tourists with tartan fiction. 

I mean here’s the wikipedia page so while I’ve not sold it very well, I’d hope to convince at least one person that if you are visiting Edinburgh then you could do worse than add it to your itinerary, maybe as a quick, quiet after-lunch attraction. 

Oh! And they let you touch stuff in there too, even the antiques! I mean, obviously one should be careful handling old items and in most cases I would not even want to touch but in this one they’ve obviously thought about what can withstand it and that definitely made it a bit more relaxed (those with children- a small number on Tumblr I know- take note).

I really like and care about the topics of education, children's rights and pedagogy? Not academically so much as, personal interest. What seeing very clearly that there was a lot of arbitrary rules that involved things like. The Government. and Systems. as a child does to a motherfucker I guess? I'm always INTERESTED in a discussion about it, is how i mean I guess. Like focuses of multiple intelligence and "applied knowledge" (and short comings there of). I mean long and short of it. Kids are full human beings and until u can grapple with that their feelings and opinions um. Actually matter. I hate you? jdhbgjhdb. And Naturally the world being good for kids has the prerequisite of it not sucking ass for adults too....

UHhhh guh. User design/civil engineering? You'll hear it from me until the day I die, crushed under the tires of a ford f1 giga truck with the LED 20million watt bulbs. PROTECTED BIKE LANES. for the love of god. I just know a lot of designers I guess and like engineering, conceptually. But like, u know that famous bridge everyone crashes into. If theres 80million warning signs and people are still crashing... maybe theres. other factors. Or you know ofc like, traffic planning, vehicle accidents, structural disasters. A lot of them are not just. Things happening. Tragedies. There's politics there. Usually a lot of Money stuff. and structural racism. The real reason your fridge is full is that there's a bunch of half empty condiment jars hiding all your forgotten left overs. And widening the roads isnt gonna do shit for traffic.

Jackass entry: Themes and motifs of anyyytthing ive watched with another person or saw, and like they also know it. I realllly like, visual theming and narrative shorthands. Anything that breaks like, maybe people in this setting dont have the same customs, but their gonna do something so you the audience can recognize it. Non literal/accurate use of colour and lighting, for mood and clarity. Breaking the physical shape and scale of things so they can appear and be readable on screen. COSTUMING COSTUMING COSTUMING. A well styled character can do soooo much for your understanding of a work, especially with large casts, and a poorly styled one can take me right out. Well. anyway. yes i love animation u all knew that.

i still have so many questions about the ff7 remake story. why did aerith even have knowledge of the future in remake to begin with? from a watsonion perspective, why does she lose that knowledge after the end of remake when sephiroth doesn't? (i'm fully aware the doylist reason is that having a character who knows the future would totally break the plot but i'm still curious if there's more to what they were doing with aerith's remake character or if this is it). what was her motivation to encourage the party to fight the whispers in the original game when she knew the party would defeat sephiroth in the end if events followed fate? was it simply that she wanted the chance to live? because that makes me want to lie down and cry!!!!

#blahs #ff7 #rebirth spoilers #sephiroth's whole “so must you” line to aerith about accepting her fate seems to imply he's saying she was resisting it #and that the aerith we see in cloud's dream reality is the aerith from remake with all her knowledge of the future #and her pushing cloud out of the dream is her accepting her death? #which makes me want to die!!!!! #it also seems implied by sephiroth that remake!aerith went and hid away in the alternate reality as a way to run from her fate?? #idk i might have to go back and watch things again #but if so perhaps that answers my question about why aerith loses her future knowledge #i do dig it a lot bc i have always been a staunch Aerith Wanted To Live Believer #i dislike the interpretation that in og ff7 she knew she would die and it was a noble sacrifice. i think that diminishes the tragedy #so the idea that she actively resisted it when given the chance even if she eventually had to accept the reality of death makes me very !!! #like it breaks my heart but it's in line with my interpretation of her character #anyway. i'm vomiting all this to my tumblr audience of People Who Don't Care About FF7 bc my bestie's asleep so i can't talk to her about i #tumblrinas please play ff7 i promise it's so good it's some of my favourite character writing in a game ever for real
