when you download a pdf and it's called like 1328723486basdf12.pdf but then you gently rename it to what it's supposed to be. that's forming a bond with a hurt and wild mythological creature and reminding it who it is.

I'm building a little "Anarchist Starter Kit" with pdfs on tactics, community & organizing, theory, and zines that are easy to print and distribute. If people are interested, I can post the G//gle Drive with the folder. (Do not lecture me about hosting the folder on Google, it makes things for more accessible for the average person. If you want a more secure link, I can provide that upon request)

i'm sorry if this is a bad question, but do you know anywhere online that i can read the vampire chronicles books for free? i don't want to ask my parents for money, i don't think they'd approve of me reading these types of books. i'm 19 but financially dependent on them for the foreseeable future so i don't wanna make them mad
hi! oh no, definitely not a bad question!
here's a link to a shared google folder that's been going around for a while with The Vampire Chronicles books 1-11, plus some other stuff like 'Interlude with the Undead' aka Armand's Playboy Story and 'Vittorio' (a standalone vampire novel that doesn't really have anything to do with the rest of TVC)
and here's a folder I just made that contains the PL-trilogy (so the last three books in the series)
they don't display by publication date in the drive, but the chronological reading order is as follows:
Interview with the Vampire (1976)
The Vampire Lestat (1985)
The Queen of the Damned (1988)
The Tale of the Body Thief (1992)
Memnoch the Devil (1995)
Pandora (1998)
The Vampire Armand (1998)
Merrick (2000)
Blood and Gold (2001)
Blackwood Farm (2002)
Blood Canticle (2003)
Prince Lestat (2014)
Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis (2016)
Blood Communion: A Tale of Prince Lestat (2018)
a little bonus for the DM fans: I extracted the Devil's Minion's chapter from QotD a while ago to make your life and mine that much easier
enjoy, and welcome to our fandom if you decide to stick around! ♥️

Charlotte Bunch, "Not by Degrees: Feminist Theory and Education" (1979)
bell hooks, "Theory as Liberatory Practice" (1994)

Kimberlé Crenshaw, "Say Her Name: Resisting Police Brutality Against Black Women" (2015)

Ok, this is a long shot, but I've gained a good deal of followers lately, so I'm going to put this out there on the off-chance someone knows.
When you make a PDF accessible, one of the steps to doing that is making sure the language of the PDF is set to the langaueg written in the PDF. This is done for the same reason a language property is assigned to a web page: if you don't assign it, that leaves it up to the screen reader to guess what language rules its supposed to use. If you give it the wrong language property, it's going to sound weird.
When using Adobe Acrobat Pro, you can pick from one of 34 different language options to assign to the PDF. But I want to know what happens if the language you need isn't on that dropdown list.
Is there a way to download more languages just as you might download a font pack?
The language I'm looking for isn't anything terribly niche either; it's a major enough language that it has its own ISO 639-1 code. So I'm hoping it's doable, you know?

Some Helpful Illustrated Botanical PDFs and websites I've Found
ILLUSTRATED GLOSSARY OF BOTANICAL TERMS FLORA OF THE CHICAGO REGION A Floristic and Ecological Synthesis - this PDF has the botanical terms of things like leaf shapes and stem placements that are clearly illustrated. So if you've been struggling like me to figure things out about botany terms, here's a good start.
Leaf Key to common trees in Louisiana - even if you don't live in Louisiana this PDF is good to look at just to see the illustrations on leaf types, and what trees they've sorted by each type. You can study the examples that fall under the terms to familiarize yourself a bit more with what those terms mean!
Weeds of Arkansas by the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture - This PDF has pictures of the different types of plants you'll find and they describe them with botanical terms alongside the photos. So again it's worth it just to kinda skim through and see what terms you recognize and how those terms present in the illustrations.
Terrestrial Field Guide, Noxious Weeds of Florida - a really good PDF with explanations of growth forms, leaves, flowers, and so on, as well as having loads of pictures.
Friends of the Louisiana State Arboretum - this one is more just for fun, but has pictures of different tree leaves next to their tree type. Clicking takes you to a page with more information about that specific tree.
