Furries can actually be whatever, it's a vague fanbase where people still think it's just a fetish, some are even dumber and think it's "otherkin"

But trans people actually are a distinct People. You can't actually expect the furry fanbase to somehow have a family intervention because it's soley an online fanbase thing. Trans people are Actual Human Beings. Still not possible for an intervention, but it's not a fanbase, there's nothing to be a fan of, it's fucking dysphoria that needs medically treated with every bit of scientifically proven mental and physical health treatment it can.

These days it's just a fucking fanbase man. Imagine a fanbase around depression or cancer, it's a community at best.

So seeing neo-pronouns, otherkin, the hell tiktok releashed, it's simply not alot to ask the vocal community to try having any self awareness and attempt compromise instead of debating everyone as if you read that Advanced Biology Text Book that keeps being thrown around, rightfully just ignorantly.

Is it ever too offensive / unaffirming to not believe otherkin (esp something more fantastical/religious) when they say they're a supernatural entity I don't believe in?

I don't want to be narrow minded, but I just can't bring myself to believe in Angels, for example, because I'm not a Christian. I've escaped a rather evangelical environment, so this is really difficult for me. Can you give some insight in how to be a good ally?

the way i see it, you can't exactly help what you do or don't believe - what you do have control over, however, is how you respond, how you treat people who identify as something you don't believe in. in your case, i imagine there's some underlying religious trauma - growing up evangelical myself, i don't know anyone who got out unscathed - which i absolutely understand... but always be kind, and always keep your head and your heart open. being an ally comes down to being an active listener. and who knows? maybe one day you'll see an angel in the corner of your eye.
