A loud crash could be heard from their room, and immediately after, they heard the hushed giggles that could only mean mischief. 

Aang groaned when he heard the commotion, because the noise meant the kids were up. By the sounds of it, all three of them were up, too. And what worried Aang the most was that if the kids were up at this hour, they were up to no good. He would have to go and either figure out what was going on or put a stop to the ruckus, otherwise he’d get an earful from the Acolytes. 

Or maybe he didn’t have to get up… His wife had a calm and kind demeanor, perhaps she’d be willing to settle the kids down

It was worth a try, at least.

The airbender lazily rolled over to his side and nudged the woman next to him. “Onj,” he mumbled. “The kids are up to something. You should probably go check it out.”

On Ji rolled over and faced Aang. She patted his cheek and gave a tired smile, then said, “They’re not my kids at this hour.”

“What??”

“We agreed that before sunrise, they’re your children,” she explained with a smirk. 

Aang opened his mouth to speak, then closed it. They did agree on that, didn’t they? 

As he complained about leaving the warm bed to find the kids, On Ji opened her eyes and patted his cheek again for good measure, then kissed him. “Have fun rounding up the kids at this hour, honey.”

While he playfully grumbled at having to get up, Aang still left the room with a smile.

The Little Prince

Disclaimer: not a native speaker, still learning 🙏

Some followers or mutuals may know that I started reading the Thai version of The Little Prince and even though I haven't gotten that far into the book yet, I did skip ahead to find the two passages that came up in ep. 1 of Last Twilight. So naturally, I wanted to draw some comparisons with the dialogue in this lovely scene from ep. 8:

บางอย่างเนี่ย /baang yaang niia/ เราไม่ตองใช้ตามอง /rao mai dtaawng chai dtaa maawng/ ก็มองเห็นมันได้ /gaaw maawng hen man dai/ = For some things we don't need to use our eyes to look yet [we] can see them anyway.

ใช่ บางอย่างมันก็ต้องใช้หัวใจรับรู้ /chai. baang yaang man gaaw dtaawng chai hua jai rap ruu/ = Right. Some things need to be perceived by using the heart. เหมือนความรู้สึกพี่ตอนเนี้ย /meuuan kwaam ruu seuk phi dtaawn niia/ LOVE he means love!! all-encompassing, indescribable l o v e! I was almost expecting one of them to express it in words but what we got instead expressed it perfectly in actions

I'm not sure where Day is reciting from in ep. 1 (or if they had to change it for copyright reasons that I'm unaware of??) but it's very slightly different from the book so let's look at both!

เจ้าชายน้อย /jao chaai naawy/, ch. 21, p. 125, the Fox:

[...] เราจะมองเห็นแจ่มชัดด้วยหัวใจเท่านั้น /rao ja maawng hen jaaem chat duuay hua jai thao nan/ สิ่งสำคัญนั้นไม่อาจเห็นได้ด้วยดวงตา /sing sam khan nan mai aat hen dai duuay duuang dtaa/ = We can see clearly only with the heart. What is essential cannot be seen with the eyes.

Day in ep. 1:

เราจะมองเห็นทุกอย่างกระจ่างชัดเมื่อเราใช้หัวใจนำ /rao ja maawng hen took yaang gra jaang chat muea rao chai hua jai nam/ สิ่งสำคัญไม่อาจมองเห็นได้ด้วยตา /sing sam khan mai aat maawng hen dai duuay dtaa/ = We can see everything clearly when we use [our] hearts. What is essential cannot be seen with the eyes.

Sidenote: While trying to find out if Day was reciting from a different translation, I happened upon this article from 2020 which included this lovely photo of one of many Braille translations! :)

Back to the editions at hand though!

My edition is from 2013 and translated by อำพรรณ โอตระกูล (Amphan Otrakul). Hers was the first Thai translation, originally published in 1969. There are uhh a lot of versions by now though.

Judging from what I can see of the cover in ep. 1, my assumption is that Day's version is a print of this 2003 one which says on the cover is still the Otrakul translation but this site credits as being translated by พงาพันธ์ุ โบบิเยร์ (Panga-Phan Bobier), originally in 1997. I know there are three well-known translations and I've checked the one by อริยา ไพฑูรย์ (Ariya Paitoon) (pdf version here) so I'm just gonna stick with the assumption that Day is quoting from the Bobier translation. 🤷‍♀️

And because I'm very highkey in love with this song-

I never understood the argument that Aang had more chemistry and romantic development with On Ji, a girl who doesn't even know his real name, than with Katara whose been with him at least three seasons but then I find out that some of these so-called On Jaang shippers are just Zvtara shippers who just want Aang out of the way for their ship.

Yup, it's why I avoid most Taang content even if I think Toph and Aang could be cute together: 90% of it is just so obviously made by zutarians that want to force him to be with someone else so "Katara can be with Zuko" (like she cannot be single or with someone other than Zuko if she's not with Aang) that it completely ruins the dynamic.

Andi Harun ketika mendapat gelar “Beluluk Lingai” dari Ketua Dewan Adat Dayak Hendrik Tandoh. SAYA tidak mengira Wali Kota Samarinda, Dr H Andi Harun, ST, SH, M.Si jadi hadir di acara launching buku saya “Bukan Pak Wali Lagi” di Kedai Kong Djie, Citra Niaga, Rabu (7/9) malam lalu. Sehari sebelum acara, saya sempat menghubungi. Dia memang berjanji hadir. Tapi sampai acara mulai digelar, saya tak melihat kedatangannya. Tahu-tahu saya diberitahu bahwa Pak Wali sudah ada di belakang kumpul-kumpul bersama wartawan dan seniman. Dia datang masih mengenakan pakaian kerja didampingi Sekretaris Kota Hero Mardanus Satyawan, yang baru saja dilantiknya. “Habis dari rapat anggaran, kami langsung ke sini,” kata Kepala Badan Pendapatan Daerah Hermanus Barus, SE, M.Si. Saya benar-benar merasa surprised. Dia masih menyempatkan diri datang ke acara saya. Malah saya makin  kaget, meski acara sudah selesai, Andi Harun masih mau begadang di teras Kedai Kong Djie sampai tengah malam. Ketua PWI Kaltim Endro S Effendi sempat menemaninya. Andi Harun bicara banyak. Mulai soal acara launching buku saya di kedai kopi, yang mengasyikkan. Sampai masalah Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), di mana daerah-daerah penyangga termasuk daerah lainnya di Kaltim belum banyak dilibatkan. Berdiskusi sampai larut biasa  dia lakukan. Berbagai masalah dikupas mulai soal pembangunan, politik sampai agama. Pemahamannya urusan agama cukup dalam, meski dia ahli hukum. Bahasa Arabnya cukup fasih. Saat pelaksanaan salat Iduladha 1443 Hijriah di Masjid Darussalam, Minggu (10/7), Andi Harun sangat lancar naik mimbar sebagai khatib. Dia sudah layak  dipanggil “kiai.” Bukan saya. Meski saya saat ini menjadi ketua umum Masjid Agung At Taqwa Balikpapan. Soalnya Gubernur Isran Noor setiap sambutan selalu memanggil saya “kiai.” Sebutan kiai tentu sebuah kehormatan, biasanya diberikan kepada tokoh agama atau ulama yang sudah matang atau mumpuni ilmu agama dan amalannya. Isran juga dalam ilmu agamanya. Dia sempat mengenyam ilmu pesantren. Saat ini dia masuk dalam kepengurusan PBNU sebagai salah satu anggota A’wan. Yaitu kumpulan sejumlah ulama dan tokoh terpandang yang bertugas membantu Rais dalam menjalankan kebijakan di Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). Ketika Andi Harun dilantik sebagai wali kota Samarinda  menggantikan H Syaharie Jaang, 26 Februari 2021, saya masih menjadi wali kota Balikpapan. Masa jabatan kedua saya baru berakhir 31 Mei 2021, lima bulan setelah Andi Harun bertugas. Sayang kami tak sempat banyak berkomunikasi langsung. Maklum saat itu suasana Covid-19 masih kencang. Andi Harun dan saya sama-sama berjuang agar Samarinda dan Balikpapan bisa menekan angka terkonfirmasi positif. Sepertinya Balikpapan selalu lebih tinggi. Tapi saya terus mengikuti kiprah wali kota ke-10 Samarinda  ini. Sangat atraktif bersama wakilnya Rusmadi Wongso. Usia Andi Harun masih muda 49 tahun. Dia dilahirkan di Bone, Sulawesi Selatan, 12 Desember 1972. Buah perkawinannya dengan Hj Rinda Wahyuni S.Pd, mereka dikaruniai  3 anak. Putra sulungnya, Muhammad Afif Rayhan Harun mengikuti jejaknya. Afif menjadi anggota DPRD Samarinda. Kalaulah Andi Harun langsung on fire sebagai wali kota tidak salah. Karena pengalaman politiknya cukup kuat. Sebagai ketua DPD Gerindra Kaltim, dia sempat 3 periode menjadi anggota DPRD Kaltim. Mulai menjadi ketua Komisi E, wakil ketua DPRD  sampai wakil ketua Komisi III. Dia meraih dua gelar S1 sekaligus. Sebagai sarjana teknik pertambangan di UVRI dan sarjana hukum di Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) Makassar. Lalu S2-nya ternyata Ilmu Ekonomi di Universitas Mulawarman. Kebetulan saya sekarang jadi ketua alumni fakultas ekonomi Unmul. Sedang S3-nya sebagai doktor ilmu hukum kembali diraih di UMI Makassar. JADI KETUA PESISIR Belum setahun menjadi wali kota, Andi Harun sudah terpilih menjadi ketua umum Asosiasi Pemerintah Daerah Kepulauan dan Pesisir Seluruh Indonesia (Aspeksindo) dalam Munas di Bangka Belitung, Oktober tahun lalu. Itu menunjukkan kapasitasnya yang kuat dan diakui oleh kepala daerah lain di Indonesia. “Alhamdulillah saya dipercaya dan dipilih. Wilayah pesisir merupakan potensi yang dapat berkembang dan menghasilkan devisa negara,” katanya. Ketika menghadiri pengukuhan dan pengambilan sumpah pengurus Dewan Adat Dayak (DAD) Samarinda, Agustus lalu, Andi Harun diberi gelar “Beluluk Lingai.” Sebuah gelar yang sangat terhormat  bagi dia. “Beluluk artinya pucuk tertinggi sebuah pohon.  Lingai itu dingin dan sejuk. Jadi kita berharap beliau menjadi pemimpin yang sejuk, pemimpin yang bijaksana kepada masyarakat adat,” kata Ketua DAD Hendrik Tandoh.

Terlibat diskusi dengan pakar Unmul Dr Aji Sofyan Effendi, para wartawan dan seniman. Andi “Beluluk Lingai” berjanji menjaga dan mengembangkan budaya Dayak sebagai salah satu objek pariwisata di daerahnya. Bahkan dia mengeluarkan Perwali untuk kegiatan menyambut HUT Desa Budaya Pampang, yang sudah dikenal berbagai wisatawan dalam negeri dan mancanegara. Salah satu program unggulan Andi Harun–Rusmadi Wongso adalah Program Pengembangan  dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat atau Pro Bebaya. Ada 2.000 ketua RT dia himpun untuk melaksanakan program tersebut, pertengahan Mei lalu. Tiap RT menerima alokasi dana APBD sebesar 100 sampai 300 juta rupiah dalam upaya memberdayakan masyarakat di lingkungannya. “Salah satu tujuan Pro Bebaya adalah untuk menjangkau pemerataan pembangunan dan pemberdayaan sumber daya manusia (SDM) di lingkup terkecil pemerintahan, yakni RT,” kata Andi Harun bersemangat. Sungguh saya kaget melihat ketegasan Andi Harun dalam menertibkan penggunaan aset milik Pemerintah Kota. Di antaranya ketika dia memerintahkan pengosongan bangunan di Jalan Mulawarman, yang selama ini dipergunakan sebagai kantor sekretariat DPD Golkar Samarinda. Dia sempat digugat ke pengadilan. Toh gugatan tersebut ditolak. “Sudah saya perkirakan,” katanya. Warga Tepian memuji semangat yang dibangun Andi Harun dan Rusmadi Wongso dalam membangun kota. Mereka berharap wajah kota bisa lebih segar dan tertib. Bebas dari banjir, lalu lintasnya bisa lebih nyaman, dan pasar-pasarnya lebih bersih dan tidak kumuh. “Kami sangat merindukan suasana seperti itu,” kata Johansyah, warga di Pasar Pagi. atla - an older then dirt topic

Here is a list of atla pairings I view from best to worst in my own personal opinion. This list might infuriate some people and I apologize for it.

1: Sukka. Probably the most unproblematic and well-developed pairing period. Maybe we could know more about Suki, but she has enough characterization outside of Sokka and vice versa.

2: Yukka. Also fantastic. Just imagine how poetic it be if Sokka gave his soul to become the ocean spirit.

3: Azulaang. It deserves to be with the big leagues such as Kataang and Zutara. Aside of it giving Azula her well-deserved redemption. Aang and Azula have the potential to be more spiritually connected and bonded due to Azula being a descendent of Aang’s past life Roku. This bond can begin right after Aang let’s go of Katara and opens his last chakra gaining true freedom, mastery over the avatar state. (Before you ask, this’ll be after the season 3 finale, not season 2 where Azula zaps him because while he did open it that time, it ended up getting reblocked again.) I’ve read multiple Azulaang AUs where Aang is temporarily a guru and he gets Azula to open and master her chakras, adding strength to there already strong bond. It doesn’t have to be just Aang helping her, it can be the other way around. Azula can give proper insight on her experience on the fire nation, she can teach him the advance forms of firebending and give him pointers about strategy, calculation and charisma. I imagine these two will take up nomadic roots and roam the earth but unlike Aang’s ancestors, they will serve people of all nations, working wherever there is corruption and discord to restore balance and peace. Aang being the avatar, he and Azula can draw wisdom from many different places as possible as Iroh recommended and Aang shares his crazy freelancing avatar adventures with Azula. It’s well balanced, unique and they help each other grow. What’s not to like?

4: Zutara. It shouldn’t come as a surprise it’s this high on the list. I’m sure every ‘pro zutara’ person has listed every reason and meta better than I could. There is one downside though. Not enough screen time. I’ve seen fan-art of agni kai where Zuko and Katara smooch it up after she heals Zuko. As heartwarming as it looks in concept, if it happened in canon, it’d come off rushed and out of nowhere. That’s one of the reasons why atla deserved a book 4: Air. I know that I’ve jotted down headcannons about Ozai being the dark avatar and harmonic convergence arrived in Aang’s time, but alternatively, the comet finale and happy ending can be cut and moved over to the end of season 4. What goes on in season 4 can just consist of tying up all lose ends until there’s absolutely nothing left but the final battle at hand. Aang could learn nuanced and maybe dark secrets of the air nomad culture, including one of his past lives learning to fly due to Guru Lagima's teachings because we've seen Aang fly whenever he was in the avatar state, he then can also discover more about lion turtles and the secrets of energybending, all by himself without the help of a random lion turtle. Perhaps, Oza be rewritten to take Sozin’s place in time of birth. He’d betray Roku, he’d destroy most of the air nation and he’d start the war. But, unlike Sozin, Ozai lives through 100-year-war and all the atrocities, experiences, and firebending levels from the 3 fire lords will all belong to Ozai only. Iroh would need to be Ursa’s older brother for this to work. As Aang masters energybending, he uses it to purify all of Ozai’s chakras and restore his internal balance for good. What happens to him afterward can vary. Other than that, Zutara is iconic and makes the best sense. Katara is the daughter of the chief which gives Katara a level of authority and royalty. Right?

5: On Jaang. A criminally underrated pairing that deserves more love.

6: Korrasami. The best gay ship there is. Despite what others might say, I think they had built-up and the pay-off was done in a more plot-twisty way. Enough teases to where it makes sense but not too much where you’d predict it happening. It’s what a “will they or won’t they” should be.

7: Korvira. Gives an Azulaang vibe but not as impactful but does get me interested.

8: Wuko. Would be the best male gay ship and I don’t think we have enough of those.

9: Sokkla or Azukka. Another fascination of mine that can easily exist in the kataang timeline.

10: Maizula. It makes the best sense. They get along best out of everyone, there similar personalities seem to match perfectly, they seem to understand each other the best, Mai was the only one who was never afraid of Azula and Azula has never had to use manipulation or fear tactics to control Mai.

11: Ty Luko. I can’t help but be drawn to this. I’ve been wishing constantly that they have positive screen time together. The way she says “I know you” sticks with me. Zuko hired her along with the rest of the kyoshi warriors as guardsmen, or as Ty puts it, “gaurdswomen.” This gives them plenty of chances for them to bond and raise the possibility she could be the mother of Zuko’s daughter Izumi. Zuko has a thing for women who express there emotions as well has be self-sufficient. Which is why Zuko was frustrated with Mai even if she herself is self-sufficient. Since Ty Lee is like the polar opposite of Mai and harbors a similar personality to Aang, whom by the way Zuko seemingly gets along with the best, Ty Luko seems logical and at least the next best thing compared to Zutara.

12: Zuki. Almost the same reasons as Ty Luko. The chemistry was fascinating and there seems to be a lot of trust between them. This leaves me conflicted with Sukka as it I said it was the best of the best.

13: Taang. I’ve been intrigued on this for quite a long time before Azulang and I used to think that Aang seeing her from the swamp meant something considering that the swamp shows people visions of of loved ones and that it would easily coexist with Zutara. Some fans speculated that Toph may have been the reincarnation of Ummi who was the love of Aang's past life Kuruk. Many felt that Ummi losing her face would explain why she was born blind in a future life. While I’ve grown to like Azulaang more, I can see this being a well thought out match.

14: Tokka. It’s been slowly growing on me and it’s very clear Toph has a thing for Sokka. A lot of fans hoped that Sokka was Lin's father and were disappointed when it was revealed that she dated Sokka's nephew, Tenzin. However, when it was revealed that Toph had another daughter with a different father, the fans regained hope. I personally don’t mind if Sokka was Su’s father.

15: Katoph. Makes sense to me, they seem to get along best and complement each other. Even though Katara acted motherly to Toph.

16: Mailee. Not a bad idea. Mai and Ty Lee both betrayed Azula and were both willing to help the gaang. They’ve never tried controlling or manipulate each other.

17: Kainora. While I had my issues with Kai. He and Jinora look pretty cute, and Kai managed to change his ways so it’s all good.

18: Kataang. It had its moments, they had the most screen time together, Aang and Katara do express some teamwork and its canon, congratulations. But they used almost all of that screen time framing Katara as an authoritive, coddly, big-sister type to Aang and Aang himself just simping for her like crazy, to the point that Aang ended up coming off too strong and his simping often clouds his judgment. He hasn’t gotten much growth from her aside teaching him waterbending and inspiring him to regain his faith in humanity, he also sees her as this perfect angelic figure and gets scared whenever she shows her more flawed side. During Aang’s chakra sessions, we’re given a clear explanation on how Katara is the only to calm Aang down from the avatar state, because she’s the reason why Aang has little control in the avatar state in the first place. Katara is an earthly tether and the only way to better protect her and gain full control over the avatar state, he has to let her go. But the love chakra showed Katara to Aang. Which means two things can happen if Aang opened his last chakra. He can love Katara in a healthier and more balanced way, realize that she’s not the perfect princess Aang made her out to be and actually falls for her harder because of it. Or he could realize his romantic attraction was never real, he lets it go and settles for the family-type of love. You’d think it went the route of the former but...it didn’t. Aang found a random and cheap way to end the great war, he never got around to opening his chakra and still needs Katara to hold his hand so he doesn’t go “incredible hulk” with the avatar state. Aang wasn't really asked to sacrifice much of anything, he blew the whole thing out proportion, making his job more difficult than it needed to be, and Katara could have better things to do then constantly babysit him.

19: Zucest. As strange and taboo as it is. I was indeed drawn by this. I can kinda see why. Azula takes the most risk for him. Saved his life and saved his reputation, the way she acted when Zuko barged into her room but wasn’t fully asleep and somehow knew he was there. With Aaron Ehasz planning on getting these two to reconcile, some may take that as a sign. But the saner side of me says it’s just them acting like the loving siblings they deserve to be.

20: Masami. I felt they hit off to fast in season 1 but when they did hit off, they looked surprisingly good. Season 2 made them look even better. That said, I’ve been conflicted between this and Korrasami.

21: Ty Lokka. Maybe, if Suki doesn’t mind a threesome. Doubt it though, and I wasn’t really feeling it with this one.

22: Urzai. It would honestly add more depth to Ozai as Zuko once stated that their family was once happy.

23: Ozhao or Zhai. It would explain why Zhao gets special treatment from Ozai and he overhypes himself. I theorize Ozai arranged his own nephew to die and Zhao was the shooter.

24: Zukaang. Interesting but has parallels with that of Kataang. As Katara was mother-like, Zuko is father-like, and they appear to be good as friends.

25: Zukka. Meh. Sokka may likely steal some of Katara’s characterization for this to work, and that just kills any originality. They have proven to work well together though.

26: Azutara. Same thing with Zukka. Just use what it is that made Zutara and Azulaang special and this is what you get.

27: Makorra. Season 2 ruined this for me, but even season 1 they didn’t seem all that great. Mako and Korra didn’t seem to have that many sparks between them, Mako from season 1 was framed as level-headed version of Zuko, that infamous love triangle didn’t make anything better.

28: Maiko. Nope. We’ve seen firsthand the dysfunction Maiko has wrought. Zuko tries to be kind and supportive, but Mai just doesn’t appreciate it. Zuko tried pouring his heart out to her, but she basically just told him to shut up. Zuko was already soaked with insecurities and guilt and Mai, intentionally or not, made them worse and that’s when Zuko started getting more impatient and possessive over Mai. Mai intimidated Zuko into never breaking up with her again and yet she felt entitled to do the breaking up herself. Mai is way better off and more likable without Zuko in her life and vice versa.

29: Tyzula. I can’t help but cringe every time I see this. Everything about this just rubs me the wrong way. While Azula wasn’t a threatening control freak towards Mai, she was towards Ty Lee.

30: Boleska. Absolutely not. Eska was nothing but abusive and possessive towards Bolin. He deserves better.

ngl had to give this some thought bc i don’t think abt aang ships besides taang

Taang: either romantically or platonically this is my OTP when it comes to aang ships bc they balance each other out (also aesthetically pleasing and i wanted it to be canon)

being opposite elements, and in the context of tlok: aang will be able to give some sort of fun and relief for the kids, but at the same time toph still keeps them in line with some sort of structure while still trying to be way less strict than her parents were

i forgot what episode she premiered in but she did seem interested in Aang, either it being the beginning of a crush or just looking for a friend

plus while we don’t know the age on on ji, by the looks of it i assume she’s his age or a year older so it’s nice to someone his age (besides toph) who has the same maturity and interest in him as a person

this one i can’t explain really well but i definitely see them in a queer platonic relationship when aang is in his late teens.

i just like the thought of ty lee being the descendant of an air nomad from the East or West Temples that manages to flee to the Fire Nation (or colonies) for refuge (which can explain why Ty Lee is Fire Nation but her eyes are Brown-Gray according to the Avatar Wiki, bc Air Nomads have Gray eyes but Fire Nation is a shade of brown/amber)

imagine how ecstatic aang will be once he finds out some Nomads were able to escape and start families or find refuge in other nations. if he could i imagine him and ty lee taking one weekend out of the month to journey to one of the 4 air temples and learning/practicing the culture (either by books and scrolls the FN stole during the g*nocide or throughly what Aang remembers from when he lived at the Southern temple)

On Jaang:

Before I discovered my love for Taang, these two were my otp!! I just thought it was hilarious how this girl had a boyfriend, but was smitten with Aang anyway. Also, it was so cute seeing a girl Aang's own age and maturity level liking him. (I know Meng also liked him, but I couldn't see Aang with her romantically.) On Jaang are essentially on the same level as Harutara and Jinko for me. All very wholesome ships.

Zuki:

I like the concept of them a lot and wish we'd gotten more interactions in the show. I could definitely see them having a fling at some point, especially if Sukka took a break after the war and Zutara hadn't gotten together yet.

Tokka:

For the most part, I see them as friends and think that Toph would grow out of her crush. However! I do think Toph's feelings don't come from a place of idealization the way that Aang's feelings for Katara do, so I could also see these feelings deepening over time, and ngl, during the finale, I do see a lot of potential for the ship that could be explored when they're older. Plus, some of the art I've seen is really cute!!

Ty Luko:

Their interaction during the beach episode has always intrigued me. There is a lot of wasted potential, platonically and romantically. M/aiko would have been fine imo if they hadn't been endgame, but that's not the route the show went in, so I wish we'd gotten Ty Luko instead, either as boyfriend and girlfriend or just friends. Honestly always makes me cry thinking about Ty Lee saying, "I love Zuko more than I fear you" rather than Mai. Also, imagine the angst potential for Tyzula.

Sukitara:

I see them as friends for the most part, but there is a lot of potential there for a romantic relationship. They have badass girlfriends who kick ass together vibes, and I love it! I do also think it could have been really interesting if both Sokka and Katara had fallen in love with Suki. I would have LOVED to see that actually.
