Well kind of. I have to explain the guy. I'll put it in the tags for those who wanna read the fic and figure out who Lief is standing in for lol.

Lief doesnt do much in the story up until the 3rd movies storyline, hes kind of just a fun silly guy in the background until then.

He's around the same age as Poppy, so they were in school together, he hangs out a lot with JD, but when JD isn't around he'll go bug Floyd or Branch. Floyd doesnt mind entertaining him but Branch has trouble since Lief is a massive klutz, so hes afraid he'll break something or hurt himself.

Am I an asshole for making fun of someone’s name and interests but then apologizing? I (16M) recently became friends with some people in my lunch hour. They are Z (17NB), M (18NB) and K (17M). M is dating A (18FTM), who i have met twice and had maybe two brief convos with, and he seemed sweet at the time. However, A is friends with the whole group, so they all know him and talk about him. We have joked in the past about the fact that A has the same nickname as one of my other friends. For the sake of fake names, lets say the nickname is Alex. I refer to my friend as Alex and Z,M, and K all call their friend Alex too. However, one day i called my friend by his full name- again, fake name, but lets say- Alexander. M makes fun of my friends name, saying its a bad name. In retaliation I jokingly say ‘your partners name is worse!’. A’s full name is a different spelling of a rather nice name, for this lets say its Alexyus (like Alexis). I mention that i like the name alexis, just say “but who spells it with a y!”. I also add, “plus theyre literally a dsmp and homestuck fan!”. OKAY BEAR WITH ME! i will fully accept and admit that thus far i have been an asshole. It wasnt okay for M to make fun of my friends name, but it also wasnt okay for me to make fun of their partner.

Anyways- no one seemed too upset by it in the moment, but later when i got home i received messages from M, K, and A. M’s had some odd sort of long copy pasta which basically said i hope you suffer, but it felt like a joke to me so just responded withh “i aint reading all that”. K’s message was wild tho- he said “i was just hoping you would kill yourself, overdose, hang yourself, or even just cut ur wrists. what is wrong with you, you fing freak!”. which is… wow! After i read the message i saw him edit it to add a “/jay” (meaning joking) at the end, but the original message had no indication of it being a joke. However, i accepted it as a joke because…. Why would he tell me to kill myself lol…. Anyways, A’s message was polite and formal, asking to talk about something i said earlier at lunch (A isnt in our lunch, he wasnt there when i made the comment about his name, but i assume M or K told him). I respond equally politely and we had a good conversation about it, i realized that it wasnt at all my place to make thats jokes or poke fun at A in that way, and i apologized. A said it was all good and honestly i was impressed with their forgiveness and maturity. I hoped A and i could become potential friends in the future, even. I was still peeved that K literally told me to commit suicide, but whatever yknow. The next few days at lunch were awkward but my other friend, Z, and me mostly just didnt talk to M and K. At some point my other friend, who i told about this, mentioned to K kinda offhandedly like “yo it was kinda fucked up u told (me) to kill himself..” and K informed us that he actually didnt send the message, it was A on his phone. M corroborated this story and then we left, but i was honestly so shocked.

Now i dislike and feel uncomfortable around M, K and A (although not Z, who agreed that what the rest of them did was not okay), because to me it feels like they all were okay and agreement of the message. But ultimately i’m really conflicted- it was definitely wrong of me to make fun of A (even if it was not meant to be serious, i dont know A well enough to joke like that), but i feel like telling me to kms is unjustified. Maybe it all is stupid drama tho, and i should just let it go?

*** i forgot to add- if its worth noting, since A is trans, he chose his own name, and mentioned that was one of the reasons he was specifically upset. Should i have not made fun of his name because i know he chose it himself? (Idk if it matters but my friend alexander is also trans and chose his name too. Also i love him and his name to death so maybe thats why i was specifically defensive of it.) but anyways:

qWilbur is an absent parent anon here o/ I just wanted to add two things. One being that I didnt mean that as Wilbur neg (cc or qWilbur) but I guess it technically is?? Second the reason im not sure its neg is cause im not mad that qWilbur is an absent dad. Like I dont think that makes him a bad person, character, or father even!! I dont think an absent parent always means to hurt their kid nor dose it mean they love them any less HOWEVER just because you dont mean to hurt someone dosnt mean you didnt hurt them! And its not up to you how they feel about something. I think its a lot more gray then just "Oh qWilbur's a bad father cause hes not there for Tallulah" because he really has no choice in the matter both in lore and in real life (cause in lore I guess his band funds the Feds, and well mans cant play minecraft 24/7 AND be a famous music guy. One at a time unfortunately) What I meant originally tho is that I just find it odd that everyone (again including ccWilbur) refuses or just dosnt want it to be canon that hes absent but like...he cant make Talullah just be okay with it and he cant just make it canon that we wasnt gone for months on end and like he seems to have this idea that that would make him a "bum" or like an asshole or something. I dont get why not make it a part of his character? I mean Tallulah clearly has! I dont get the aversion to a clear character arch or an internal struggle for him inside of the roleplay! I mean maybe because its forced on him and he wants to make his own character choices and not have it be affected by his lack of availability IRL but like...sorry buddy thats not how this server works! Its not a video game you can pause, Tallulah isnt a NPC virtual egg. Shes played by an admin who isnt going to wait for Wilbur to come back just to be able to tell her own story. SO. picasso backstory.

the very beginning starts after the episode "Sparring Partner", S1 E18B, where we are introduced to Franken-Foot; the reformed paper ninja in raphael's care. after meeting the reformed paper ninja, mikey has an idea. at this point, hes still very babied and coddled; although now he is feeling bolder, with both "Hot Soup: the Game" and "Nothing but Truffle" already having occurred.

seeing raphael being able to reform one if their "enemies", mikey decided to replicate it, for the sake of showing raphael up and proving he can be responsible. so, after yet another battle with the foot clan, mikey slipped away to pluck an injured paper ninja out of the heap of paper after the dust settled.

the paper ninja was in bad shape, to say the least; especially after mikey had to drag it back into his room with his brothers none the wiser. after all, paper isnt exactly the strongest material on its own. but mikey knew exactly what to do, he knew how to make paper stronger. he was the artist, after all! he worked with paper a lot, unlike raphael. and his plan? paper mache.

he slowly but surely fixed the paper ninja up, it took a few days with all of the drying, hiding the living behind from his brothers, all that jazz. but if course, he didnt want to make just another paper ninja, thats boring. he needed to add his own razzmatazz to it! so, using his skills, he created his own turtle pal; complete with a painted cardboard shell.

now, this paper mache turtle wasnt exactly the strongest thing. with all of that weight, it needed something to keep it together! so mikey wrapped ribbons around its limbs, adding an extra layer of protection.

but of course, someone was going to find this out eventually. one day, while mikey was out spray painting the sewers, leo snuck into his room to grab one of his comics he let mikey borrow. only to find a strange colored turtle reading it.

mikey made leo swear to keep it a secret, but after just a week or so, leo spilled the beans to april, who brought it up with donnie assuming he knew. and finally after a month or so, raphael finally learned of the paper mache turtle when it was just walking around. mikey got in deep trouble that day.

once the family finally all knew of the paper mache turtle, it began to join them in their family time at home. its vocabulary expanded, and became almost like a toddler. donnie had some theories, but none were fully solid.

eventually, the paper mache turtle began to notice it was different from the others. no flesh or skin or scales, it was all paper mache. it felt alienated from its family. although, this didnt stop the paper mache turtle from trying to cheer itself up. so when mikey went into his room one day, he saw the paper mache turtle superglueing paper loops on the back of its head to replicate the brothers bandannas / masks.

OKAY THATS ALL I HAVE ABOUT PICASSOS BACKSTORY

but more on other things, picasso uses any/all pronouns, because as paper, they couldnt care less what you refer to them as. mikey is essentially picassos older brother/father figure, taking his toddler creation out into the sewers to teach it things.

while picasso doesnt know much about the world, he isnt a complete idiot. he may be comedically bad at using things when hes first introduced to them, but he eventually learns, like a toddler.

picassos "weapon" of choice is a fork. it was originally a dumb idea my irl friend cane up with, i actually like this idea.

so. mikey spends a lot of time in the kitchen, and picasso follows him because hes her caretaker. she watches him cooking a lot, and she also helps by passing mikey some ingredients or tools for him to use. when she saw that mikey also used a fork a lot to eat, test the readiness if potatoes, whisk together eggs, etc., she decided shed use a fork for everything, just like her caretaker and best friend mikey.

this au is also completely platonic, and picasso is aroace.

Comic List + Thoughts

so basically i'm just gonna compile a list of all the comics i've read and write a little commentary about them - this is mostly for my own benefit because my memory is pitiful so i need physical evidence of what i've read.

Nightwing Vol. 1: Leaping into the Light (2021)

I enjoyed this! I think it was a good beginner point for the most part because i came here with an interest mostly in Nightwing. I liked the art, and while i was a bit confused bc i knew next to nothing about this universe, so therefore did not understand any of the references they made. i still enjoyed it, the writers keep new readers in mind, and don't necessarily regret reading it first.

Robin/Batgirl: Year One (2002)

this one was good too. I got a bit bored at times but it was a good introduction to batgirl/barbara and how she started and got to be involved with the bats. (basically them just following her around while Barbara's like 'leave me alone tf')

Batman: Dark Victory (1999-2000)

also pretty good, I was kinda bored until Dick came in (mostly because he's the character i've really become invested in so far) but i loved seeing the very beginning of his character. sidenote: i love alfred

Batman Chronicles: The Gauntlet (1997)

this one was fun to read! I dont have a whole lot of commentary on it but it was more good backstory and seeing dick as robin.

Robin and Batman (2022)

I LOVED the artwork. watercolor is loml. but about the actual story: i also enjoyed it. Baby Dick is unhinged i love it. also it was the beginning of me not really liking batman??? i wasnt really expecting that... WFA led me astray :') and honestly that dislike just carries on the more i read so idk whats going on

Teen Titans: Year One (2008)

MY JAW DROPPED. bro when batman straight up hit Dick i was BAFFLED. like i know he was mind controlled and what not but bro why is batman such an ass to dick??? like even after the mind control is gone like hes still just so?? like shut up and let this 13 year old have fun with his friends wtf. anyways i dont like him, sorry, but if im just reading the ooc comics then lmk but so far im 👎🏼 on batman

I only read issues #1 to get the intro, and then #14 because i heard it was dick centered. I wish i liked the older comics more than i do but i'm not mad i read them. I do enjoy the titans storyline and characters though so i will definitely read more to do with them

I dabbled but i cant tell you which issues i read- again i think i need to get used to reading comics as a whole and come back to the older ones :')

Nightwing: Year One (1996)

so i've almost finished this one! Its #101-106 and i'm on #105 rn. again I DON'T LIKE BATMAN. like he's such a man-child. he literally 'fired' and yelled at this 13 year old kid for helping his friends save people instead of being with him like okay bitch. but anyways i like this! its more good backstory plus him going back to the circus was a nice touch. also the nightwing origin!!! dick going to superman for advice :') I like it.

okay thats all i got so far, I'm excited to keep reading. I have definitely spent too much time worrying about backstory and reading orders ( ik i don't have to bc continuity is relative but my brain just wont let me go out of order) but i've gotten a reading list that i'm pretty comfortable with. Also pretty soon ill be reading more with the batfam (specifically batkids) and im excited for that!! (the batkids are most of the reason im here tbh...especially now bc batman is...not my favorite)

Void Termina gijinka redesign

woke up and felt like drawing on paper, i drew a zan, fucked up and then decided it was finally time to redesign my void.

i dont tend to use his gijinka very much, in fact i only drew him 3 times, the original, a slight redesign, and this one.

well i suposse i should show it already

honestly i really like it! :3

tho i used to like the other one too, now i think its abhorrent, so maybe i end up hating this one too overtime. i didnt want to clutter it with too many things so i tried to not go overboard, tho i did struggle as i did not want it to look to plain or simple, im thinking i might change some stuff, like the sleeves, wich i think are okay but they feel way too empty to me rn, but sometimes i just need to let the design grow on me. and i dunno, do something with his legs i guess, also if you are wondering why are they shaped like that, sometimes i prefer doing them like this, and other times i prefer for them to look more normal.

the mask thing had stuck with me for various months so i didnt want to discard it. the 3 lines under the eyes is something i do in all my drawings (unless i forget :p) but here i tried to make them longer, and in fact, im thinking of making them red, 3 in each eye, 6 in total, referencing zero, btw, i only did this sketch, but void's body has more markings like those and such.

the lines in the sleeves around the shoulders dont represent anything, i just added them so the sleeves werent so lacking, but the bar codes like lines at the end of them, are indeed, a reference to Zero two's boss fight's background, and the small oval shape thingyes are too, but instead a reference to the blood vessels in 02 wings. 6 on each sleeve, i thought of adding a 7th one that was more blu-ish (i know this is a sketch without colors) and diamond like, in reference to the titular crystal shards but it didnt look good so i scraped that.

the heart is something that was in the original design, but in a slightly different place, at the end i that downwards line (i dunno how to describe it) , basically, make it look like the heart spear, i saw lots of void gijinkas have heart spears somewhere and i wanted to include one too, and eventually did it like that. i tend to draw inspiration from other gijinkas a lot of the time, since i sometimes struggle with making designs, tho im trying to better at it, and remake some gijinkas so they dont resemble others' so much.

the thing next to the heart is from void termina's phase one, in his titan body, next to their shoulders, in fact, it looks very similar to the one's the three mage sisters wear in their attire's.

the pointy thing in their shoulders wasnt originally planned, but while drawing i accidantally made it pointy there and ended up liking the idea, and having it like a section so to say

i was going to have the hair have the patterns, but remembered this was more especifically void, the grey one (tho here things from all forms are mixed kinda) so his hair has the rainbow cracks, and i ended up using the weird swirly patterns in the clothes, they are really hard to draw but it feels rewarding when getting it right and ends up looking nice.

around the knees, where the clothes end, there are these feathers, purple more especifically, as i wanted to include the mane he has in phase one but i didnt know how due to how i was making the neck area, then, i thought around the shoulders but it didnt look good, before eventually setting on to add them at the end of their clothes.

before i ramble more and more about my void in general, im going to talk about the original gijinka

three years do sure make a difference.

im not gonna complain that much about style, since i wasnt consistent and have gotten beter at drawing and honestly the eyes being so close togheter and taking up like 95% of the face is something i still accidentally do on ocassion but...

just talk about the design, in the remake, i tried making the references a bit more subtle, i think thats mainly my problem with the old gijinka, the references are way too straightforward.

its way too simple to me, yet has too much going on the sleeves, especially the left one god i dont like it, but at least i can support it, for now...the right arm is probably where the reference problem is easier to spot, having a literal drawing of a dark matter, and an eye, and oh yeah i guess dark nebula is there too but who cares about that dude.

honestly i dont know how to explain why i dislike the gijinka now (i used to kinda like it back then) that isnt basically repeating points. also it looks weird, i dunno why (aside from the eyes) but it does, tho mad props to 2022 me for drawing the patterns all over void's hair, it was so unnecessary but i appreciate her efforts.

Now, now, lets stop talking about, that, and talk about my void

i dont think it can be like, my characters interpretation, its more like an AU, but not quite, im not sure so just like, yeah im going to use au since my interpretation of how characters are in canon vs what i do with them, as in fics, drawings, things i think of them, etc differs, especially with void,

ok so, they are capable of shapeshifting, i mean, that kinda canon, but we'll just ignore whats canon or not. i mainly just choose that, aside from making him have and eye on his face from time to time, because i still do like long-haired void, so he sometimes just switches from a hairstyle that resembles kirby, to a longer one (because extremely long haired gods are soooooo)

when their angry, their hair becomes spikier, they can make their fingers longer, pointier, same with every limb they have. it can become more straight when sad, stuff like that, i also like thinking that it kinda looks like it is made of clouds, or like, perpetually under the sea, like, the hair is perpetually floating or moving around, never staying still for long, with small chunks separating and dissapearing like if they were smoke. his face can contort at will and more typical void stuff.

the original gijinka was focused more on the void termina from the story mode, the pink one, while the redesign was more on thinking about all forms he has (including the titan ones) and also after he got purged of negative emotions by kirby, so he sometimes tries to resemble him, hence the hair thing (in fact, the slight redesing i mentioned that was second, was just me making him more like kirby, shorter hair and stuff, basically the note that i had written in the og design) and sometimes i might just call him niru or nil, when refering more especifically to the post-ksa void, because i headcanon he reincarnates and basically gets adopted

sorry for rambling way too much about void, i love talking about this guy so much alongside fecto elfilis (i have way too much to say about the dude, i literally know almost all their attack names from memory)

and also for the lack of posting, tho winter break i gonna end soon and ill have to go back studying and shit, i dont want to.

What You Deserve

Singing was something you absolutely loved to do, so much so that you often found yourself doing it subconsciously. It wasnt unusual for people to walk over to wherever you were and finding you singing away to yourself. By no means were you the best, but it kept your spirits up, and it made other people happy too. You were quite surprised by the amount of people who would find you singing and would choose to stand and listen rather than interrupt you, they’d simply wait until you noticed their presence. It was a little frightening at first, but the fact you could provide a simple moment of joy to people in the midst of the apocalypse soon helped you grow comfortable with it.

More often than not, you start singing when doing everyday tasks. Admittedly, in the apocalypse “everyday tasks” arent usually the appropriate occasion for singing, so it’s only really when the group have found a place to stay that you’ve fallen back into your old habit. The prison does add a very nice echo to your voice.

You shake Judith’s formula in her bottle idly, standing with your back to the door as you prepared her bottle.

“Friday night and the lights are low, lookin’ out for a place to go.” The lyrics pass your lips at a volume that is by no means obnoxious, you arent really putting any effort in, it’s hardly a performance.

“Where they’ll play the right music, getting in the swing, you come to look for a-“ A sudden clattering against the floor makes you jump, and you turn to face it. Apparently you’d been so lost in your thoughts that you hadnt even heard the door open, because Daryl is standing in the doorway with his arms full, carrying a bag of metallic looking things. The culprit of the noise appeared to be one of the metal things that was now on the floor next to Daryl’s foot.

“Sorry.” He apologises awkwardly as he picks up the piece of pipe that had fallen from his bag. You smile at him.

“No harm done! You need any help?” You ask, gesturing to the bag he’s carrying and knowing there’s probably more where that came from, last time you saw him was the previous day when he’d left for a run.

“Naw, ‘s okay. Thanks though.” Daryl nods at you, adding sincerity to his already heartfelt words, and you nodded back at him. He starts walking towards the cells, but he stops and turns to you just before he reaches the doorway. “Wha’s that you were singin’?”

Your eyes widen and your cheeks flush pink, you hadnt thought that Daryl had been standing there long enough to hear you, let alone that he’d made an effort to listen.

“Uh, Abba.” You tell him, and he nods again.

“Thought so.” He answers, and you cross your arms, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Is Daryl Dixon an Abba fan? Well, I’ll be!” You tease, and he scoffs at you, a small playful smile on his face as he continues walking towards the cells.

Spinning back around, you pick Judith’s bottle up and head for Beth’s cell, knowing that’s where Judith will most likely be. On your way there, though, an idea pops into your head. An idea so utterly ridiculous, so out of place in the world today...you couldnt possibly resist. As you reach Beth’s cell, a bright smile has overtaken your face.

“What’s got you smilin’ so big?” Beth asks, amusement lacing her words as she rocks Judith.

“I need you and Maggie for a run.” You tell her simply as you pass her Judith’s bottle, and Beth’s eyes widen.

“When? For what?” She questions.

“In a few minutes, and for...something.” The look on your face is mischievous, and Beth cannot possibly argue with you. She sighs.

“I’ll have Carol watch Judith, I’ll go tell Daddy Im gonna be gone.” She says, and you squeal, stepping into her cell to hug her, very gently considering Judith is still in her arms.

When you try to leave the cell block to go and find Maggie, Daryl steps out of his cell and grabs your arm.

“You goin’ out for a run? You want some help?”

His concern for you makes your heart melt, and you choose not to address his eavesdropping because you can see how embarrassed he is about it from the look on his face, he just cares about you.

Shaking your head at him, you give him your warmest smile. “I’ll be back soon, try not to miss me too much, yeah?”

Daryl rolls his eyes and does his playful scoff at that, letting go of your arm and heading back into his cell, making you laugh as you jog out of the cell block.

“You need us both for a run right now?” Maggie asks you, completely perplexed by what you could possibly need.

Glenn stands beside her, frowning in confusion at his wife and her best friend. As if proving your relationship with her on the spot, you give her the eyes, telling her everything she needs to know. Maggie gasps, her hands raising to cover her mouth before she hugs you excitedly.

“Oh gosh, we’ve gotta go! Now!” She exclaims, giving the still confused Glenn a quick kiss before grabbing your hand and sprinting for the car, where Beth is waiting.

The drive to the closest town could not have felt longer, but as soon as you reached it, the three of you leapt from the car and started running to the first clothing store you could find. Noticing a sign on one of the walls, you point to it.

“Summer collection coming soon, so it’s gotta be in the store rooms still!”

Maggie and Beth nod, and the three of you head for the back of the store. After stabbing what looked like the remains of a member of staff in the temple, you were able to make it to the store rooms, and sure enough you found boxes of exactly what you were looking for: dresses. And, even better, ones that hadnt been on display, so they didnt have any blood stains!

Maggie secures the front of the store so that no walkers can sneak up any of you, and once that‘s done, you all pick out any dresses that you like and go to changing rooms to try them on. It was like a post-apocalyptic version of a coming of age movie! While you were there, you confessed your plan to your two best friends, and they both lost their minds. Part of you wanted to keep it a secret, but you had to tell them so that they could give you moral support, and also because they needed to help you pick a dress that was fit for the occasion. And as if the scene wasnt already like a movie, when you walked out in a particular summer dress your two best friends gasped dramatically and nodded, telling you that this was the right one. With that, the three of you piled back into the car with your new dresses. Naturally, you raided some of the other stores while you were there so that you could cover up what you were actually doing, and so the rest of the group didnt think dress shopping was a total waste of gas.

By the time you get back, the sun is setting. Daryl is with Carl at the gate, helping him open it. At the sight of him, you frown. Daryl doesnt have first watch tonight and he isnt talking to anyone in particular, why is he by the gate at all? His reasons are made very clear when you step out of the car and Daryl is running up to you.

“You alright? Anythin’ happen out there?” He asks, and you watch as his eyes check over you for injuries.

You’re somewhat avoiding eye contact because you hadnt been prepared for this immediate confrontation, and also the dresses are in bags in the trunk of the car, so Daryl could very easily find them if he looked.

“Im fine Daryl, really, nothing happened! Only ran into a couple of walkers, but we handled it.” You tell him, and he breathes a sigh of relief.

“Good. What’d ya get?” Daryl nods in the direction of the trunk, and you’re about to stop him when you see Beth and Maggie carrying the bags into the cell blocks already. Thank god.

“Oh, nothing really!” You answer Daryl’s question, and he frowns at you, definitely not believing you.

“You had to go out on a run real quick for nothin’?” His tone is a little accusing, it only makes you feel more guilty for not admitting the truth to him, but you cant!

“Yeah..?”

Daryl takes a moment to reply, and when he does it isnt a verbal one. He nods at you, but it isnt the kind, sincere nod he usually gives you. It’s the distant one, the slightly sad one. Before you can say anything else, he’s gone into the prison. He thinks that you’re deliberately not telling him because it isnt his business, and by extension he thinks that he’s been wrong about how close the two of you are and as a consequence he’s accidentally overstepped. You run your hands through your hair and lean against the car. You cant leave him in that state for the night.

After carrying the remaining supplies inside, you dart outside to the field to grab something before heading to Daryl’s cell. Since there’s no door, you have to verbalise.

“Knock knock.” You say quietly, and he doesnt respond, which you expect.

Pushing the curtain back slightly, you step into Daryl’s cell gingerly, to find him sitting on his bunk going through the bag of metal he’d had earlier, which you now recognise to be car parts. He doesnt look up at you as you enter, he’s doing his best to act like he doesnt even know you’re there.

“I cant tell you what I got on the run today, but you will find out soon, I promise. Forgive me?” You ask, holding out the small bunch of flowers you’d just picked for him.

Daryl side-eyes the flowers, then his eyes glance up to meet yours, and his gaze visibly softens.

“Alright, yer forgiven. Aint my business anyway, I should be the one askin’ you to forgive me.” He admits bashfully as he shyly takes the flowers from you and places them on a small cloth on top of a table next to his bunk.

You shake your head and sit down on his bunk beside him. “You know I’d usually tell you, we’re best friends. This time you’ve just gotta hold on a little before knowing. Do you think you can handle that?” You ask as you rest your head on Daryl’s shoulder.

He nods, but doesnt say anything. You can tell that the physical contact has shocked him, it does whenever you have the confidence to give him affection. Still, you dont want to make him uncomfortable, so after a minute or so you rise to your feet.

“Night, Dixon.” You say to him as you look over your shoulder, and he smiles after you.

“Sweet dreams.”

The following morning, you are pacing the length of the cell block while Beth and Maggie try to calm you down.

“You can do this, (Y/N), it’ll be perfect!” Beth encourages.

Maggie nods. “He wont be able to resist!”

You sigh and straighten out your dress as you turn to them. “Do I look okay?”

They both nod viciously and approach you, showering you with compliments. After Daryl wished you sweet dreams last night, you did anything but that. You were tossing and turning with nerves, and this morning you’re a million times worse.

“And Rick definitely knows?” You ask, glancing between Beth and Maggie, who both nod again, and you start taking deep breaths.

“Okay, okay, I’ve got this.” You tell yourself.

“We’ll help you if you get nervous!” Beth says, and Maggie agrees, both of them taking ahold of one of your hands as the three of you head out of the prison.

“DARYL DIXON!” You call.

Daryl’s eyes leave Rick, who had thankfully stuck to the plan and kept Daryl standing with him and talking in the middle of the prison field. When his eyes land on you, even from a distance you see his entire body react to the sight of you. The flowery, flowing summer dress you were wearing that hung off your shoulders was definitely the right plan.

“Yeah?” Daryl calls back, but you’re closer now, so he doesnt need to yell quite like you did.

“I have something to tell you!” You announce.

Daryl glances around as the rest of the group gathers. Oh dear, Rick must’ve passed on the news.

“What?” Daryl asks you.

“I’ve never been much good at talking, so I figured there was another way I could do this.” You clear your throat and straighten your dress again, feeling Maggie and Beth’s comforting presence behind you, as well as Daryl’s eyes burning into you. Here goes.

“Honey, honey, how you thrill me, aha, honey, honey.” Your voice is much quieter than it usually is, but this is a proper performance, and you are very nervous.

“Honey, honey, nearly kill me, aha, honey, honey...” You start to rapidly lose confidence, but Beth and Maggie lean forward and start the next line with you in support.

“I'd heard about you before.” They let you carry on after that, since you get back on track.

“I wanted to know some more.” Your eyes meet Daryl’s again, and he is beyond flustered. You cant tell if it’s because he knows the song or if it’s because you’re literally serenading him, probably both.

“And now I know what they mean, you're a love machiiiiine, oh, you make me dizzy!” You smile at him, and his cheeks are enflamed, he shuffles from foot to foot and avoids your eyes briefly.

“Honey, honey, let me feel it, aha, honey, honey.” You cover your face with your hands as you sing that line and the group laughs, realising just how sexual that line sounds.

And that isnt the only time the lyrics force you to hide away shyly. Later on in the same verse, your face is covered by your hands again.

“Honey, honey, touch me baby, aha, honey, honey...Honey, honey, hold me baby, aha, honey, honey.” It’s only after this line that you’re able to peak through your fingers at Daryl, who seems to be far more comfortable now that you are the one that’s shy. With that in mind, you drop your hands from your face and beam at him.

“You look like a movie star, but I like just who you are.” You sing, and Daryl’s hands fumble with his jacket.

“And honey, to say the least, you're a dog-gone beast.” You wink at him, causing the group to cheer.

“Honey, honey, how you thrill me, aha, honey, honey. Honey, honey, nearly kill me, aha, honey, honey. I'd heard about you before...” The song starts to slow, and you emphasise the words you’re singing by taking equally slow steps towards Daryl as you sing.

“I wanted to know some more, now I'm about to see what you mean to me.” You bite your lip as you look up at him.

“Did I get my point across?” You ask him, sounding way too casual for someone who just serenaded him.

“Uh, yah, I’d say so.” Daryl answers, his voice a little hoarse.

“Good. No hard feelings if you dont feel the same, I’ll give you some time to think, come talk to me later when we dont have an audience!” Without another word, you skip away from him, the group cheering and applauding you as Maggie and Beth pull you into a proud hug, assisting you in walking back to the prison since your legs arent the most stable after that.

By the time Daryl has come to terms with what you did, you’re back in the cell block, up on the second floor rocking Judith. Daryl knows that’s exactly what you’re doing because as soon as he enters the cell block, he can hear you singing again, but much quieter than before. He follows the sound of your voice, and sure enough, you’re smiling down at Judith as you sing to her.

“Chiquitita, you and I cry, but the sun is still in the sky and shining above you. Let me hear you sing once more like you did before, sing a new song, Chiquitita.”

Daryl stands at the foot of the stairs and listens for a little while, letting your voice hypnotise him until the urge to be at your side is too strong to fight. He ascends the staircase quietly, not wanting to make you jump again, but somehow you sense his presence. You turn to smile at him as soon as he’s at the top of the stairs with you.

“Hey.” You greet him softly, rocking the now sleeping Judith as you walk her over to her makeshift cardboard box crib.

“You look real pretty in that dress, y’know.” Daryl says, his voice quiet both out of nervousness and consideration for the little ass kicker who’s snoozing in the corner.

Your smile widens, your cheeks flushing pink as you cast your gaze down, leaning against the wall. “Thank you.”

Daryl cant hold back his curiosity any longer. “Why’d you do it...in front of everyone?”

It takes a second for your confidence to return to you after his compliment, but as soon as it does you meet his eyes again. “If Im willing to literally serenade you, risking humiliating myself when you inevitably reject me, there’s no way you can doubt how I feel about you. I think you deserve to be loved proudly, Daryl, and Im in no way embarrassed or ashamed by my feelings towards you.” You admit, your voice completely even because despite being nervous, you couldnt be more honest in what you’re saying.

Daryl nods slowly, and comfortable silence ensues for a moment, until he speaks up again. “Interestin’ that you got shy singin’ about wantin’ me to touch you, but you could wink at me when callin’ me a ‘beast’.” His boldness truly shocks you, and you struggle to reply for a second.

You blink rapidly. “Well, yeah.”

“Why?” He asks.

“Everyone is fully aware you’re a sexy beast Daryl, I have no reason to get shy over gospel truths.” You explain, and Daryl scoffs. “Are you gonna change the conversation topic again to try and deflect my compliments?” You question, and this time he meets your eyes with a fiery expression.

“Aint used to it is all.” He spits, a little more aggressive than he meant to.

“Im always complimenting you!” You retort.

“Yeah, but ‘s different now, you know that.” He tells you, and you nod.

“The same can be said for your compliments, but I dont deflect them.” You reply, and Daryl shakes his head, avoiding eye contact with you.

“Naw, my compliments have always meant the same.” He admits

“What are you saying, Daryl?” You ask, but he shakes his head again.

“I cant sing, but ‘m no good at talkin’ neither, how am I meant to do this?” Daryl’s visibly struggling, he’s fidgeting with discomfort, wiping his palms on his jeans, and you can see he wants to tell you, but he cant.

You take the few steps necessary to reach him, and you gently hold one of his hands, forcing him to look at you in his shock response to physical affection. Smiling up at him, you give him one simple request.

“Kiss me?”

Daryl’s eyes darken at your words, his gaze darting from your lips to your eyes. He leans in ever so slowly, and when he decides to speak again, he’s so close to you that his lips brush yours as he talks.

“Now, that I can do.”

Daryl kisses you so softly, his hand letting go of yours to move to the small of your back, the other holding the side of your face, cradling you with so much care. He’s holding you like you’re made of glass, or the most precious, delicate gem that he’s so terrified of breaking. He pulls away briefly, the hand that’s holding your face tucks some hair behind your ear.

“You really meant what you said? I mean, sang?” Daryl fumbles, and you nod, grinning up at him.

“Every word, honey.”

This time, you lean up to kiss him, and if everything you’d done today wasnt enough, Daryl’s heart was on the brink of exploding. Here he was, being kissed by his dream girl, the love of his life, after she’d gone out and risked her life to get a pretty dress so that she could sing him an Abba song in the middle of the end of the world. Daryl Dixon may have angel wings on his back most of the time, but the only angel he’d ever known was the one that stole his heart, and he was forever grateful that in return, you gave him yours.

I dont have an uhh actual name for the oc (yet), ill try to think about one soon. Anyways

He's (obv referring to my damn skippy oc) energetic and constantly moving around the place. Damn skippy oc try to sit still in one place (failed INSTANTLY).

+ "Naturally curious (Good example for this idea would be the song "rainwater") and lives in their daydreams" kinda person. (When robots attack) (ik theres the line 'how i wish this was just a dream' in when robots attack, but I imagine the scenario wasnt a "daydream" he has and moreso of an actual dream that feels real.)

[going back to the last part, I imagine the entire damn skippy album is just the oc going on these silly tangents abt their life + daydreams (maybe minus "ode to crayola", as I already have a diff oc for that song alone)]

Pronouns - He/they (Was originally gonna go with he/him but i like the concept of "he/they DS oc better)

Physical features !!!

DS has these swirls in their eyes, like the back of the album cover. Confession - Every now and then i think the pinkish color makes him look high but then i add the blue and im like "nuh uh" HWKAN ���

They also have these star pupils, I added the idea when i first designed the oc back in jan-feb time period. Btw these features arent like contact lenses those are his actual eyes :3 I imagine my DS oc to be like... 80% human and the 20% is uhhh I dont know that answer

Along with this, theres like this ink or whatever that seeps from his eyes. Theyre not tears or anything, no matter what they do to remove the ink it just comes back eventually, but the ink only gets down to a certain point to where it just stops flowing.

small features !!! he wears a lot of stickers on their face, mainly because the stickers are really cool

LOTS of kandi bracelets/wrist bands/spiked bracelets. There probably was a time where he was a scene kid, and they still take inspiration from that 2000s/2010s scene time period.

on the topic of the kandi bracelets part, DS makes a lot of kandi bracelets for HTTJB (another oc based on a LD album) (The hip to the javabean oc isnt my oc, its @shrimpmcbites 's). Occasionally DS will just give HTTJB a new kandi bracelet for no apparent reason. ]

LOTS OF COLOR !!!!!!!! DS constantly wears so many things dealing with color and bright things, like as if those saturated bright colorful photos were a person.

first of all and i CANNOT stress this enough, trans. she is a trans woman. this is very important!!! RAAHHH

and to add to that i'd like to think that her "design gal" appearance is the product of her finally expressing herself, which is why she's wearing a lot more colorful accessories and trying a new style she usually didn't have prior... and the whole "new passion for fashion" quote is DEFINITELY an indicator of her being more comfortable with herself and her interests, especially branching out to other things that don't have to do with the EPF

dot is fond of giving her fellow agents nicknames! she likes to call rookie "rooks" and (canonically) calls the agent "ace", she also teasingly calls jpg "big guy" just to annoy him

heres some relationship stuff below!

to rookie, she is a very dependable and understanding older sister figure. the two are very close and rookie enjoys going out on missions with her just as much as he enjoys doing so with jpg. dot has always been offering a helping flipper to rookie

to jpg, dot is very sassy and kind of ruthless. she likes to tease him a lot, mostly to see his reaction. but the two do get along, especially when talking about their common interest in fashion. jpg owes a lot to dot's talent and skill, even if he has to take in all of dot's teasing all the time

dot owes a lot to aunt arctic, mostly because of ANOTHER SCENARIO I MADE UP IN MY HEAD but basically it had to do with dot first coming into the island, and more or less being really distant and cold. a lot of that personality really softened when she got recruited into the EPF

occasionally, her old cold-hearted nature can sometimes stick out, especially when she's angry. which is one of the main reasons why jpg never attempts to fight back against her teasing. she is simply too girlboss i fear

i also originally planned for her to be the one who made rookie's hawaiian shirt. i scrapped the headcanon in favor of an oc explanation, but i'll just leave it here :3

dot enjoys scrapbooking and crafts in general! there is a board in her igloo that contains a lot of photos, she is very crafty!

dot's parents are both models, and they taught her how to improvise on fashion when she was younger. that's how she ended up being really good at making disguises out of simple materials.

despite that, dot does not get along well with her family!

dot has crossdressed a lot before, mostly for her disguises, but occasionally she does it for fun.

(semi-canon?) she has a lot of friends around the island, and maybe even moreso in the fashion industry

her personality has hardened a lot more after the events of operation blackout, she became a lot more focused and just.. a teensy tiny bit more stern

everyone in the EPF means a lot to her, she cares about all of them like family. (and she probably cares more about them than her own family but i digress) just like gary, she'd rather be cryogenically frozen 20 times over than see the EPF get destroyed in front of her

🐱 jumin’s route thoughts!

note that it’s been a few days since ive completed these endings / dlc so my memory might be a bit shaky of the entirety of them. i have some screenshots to go off of but that’s it lol. these are just some of my random thoughts and such that i have about jumin’s route when coming back after many years into the game again.

the reason i originally chose specifically to do jumin’s was because 1. i only have time for one route due to college, & 2. i remembered that he and zen were my favs back then. originally i was going to also write about the bad ending 2 & dlc but i lazy! lmao.

tldr; this is just my personal thoughts as i went through jumin’s route, feel free to add / comment anything. ^_^ i talk a lot about his character/past/actions, kinda like an analysis but not really since i am a dumbass & might be incorrect about some things. but in conclusion, jumin is very Complex character and can have some 🚩 tbh but he is very much still my little scrumgus i love jumin So Much. <3 he needs some tlc, a big hug, and also therapy. past me had great taste.

just wanted to say, it was extremely nostalgic to open up the game again after many years! i first started playing in 2016 (!!) but probably played again during quarantine in 2020ish (cannot remember). i came back in honestly not knowing ANYTHING about what would happen in jumin’s route. my memories are extremely shaky abt the game other than the main plot points involving v, rika, seven, & saeran. but my knowledge still was kinda low lol.

v’s birthday art is super pretty btw!! loved the homescreen image of it. the max speed feature is very nice, i probably should buy it since it’s only $3 but oh well. maybe if im really into the game? anyways, chatting in the messenger again is so weird lol it’s such a throwback and i definitely missed these guys’ shenanigans. literally zen complimenting himself so much was hilarious for some reason?? 😭 yoosung being a relatable college student, me feeling so bad for jaehee <3 girl does not deserve to be overworked like this all the time ?!?! and jaehee also complimenting zen’s looks as well as being his biggest fan LMAO. seven doing seven things (do not need to explain further). and jumin being the more serious and cold guy who also loves his cat and doing whatever he wanted sometimes. and saying random shit HAHA. which is sometimes a personality i would like in otome games (See: Saito). so im here like hm, i think i see why past me liked jumin! he probably warmed up to the mc and got really cute and romantic or something? and not at the way everyone kept on saying jumin might be “androgynous” LIKE you guys. do you mean aromantic or ???

okay, so glam choi and sarah are a thing in the story now. jumin is just annoyed - seems like he’s only encountered women who try to take advantage of him / only try to speak with him as if theyre wanting to get something in return, like money, as i believe the story framed? and how he was genuinely sad about his father trying to make him get into a marriage, especially because he was one of the only ones who had treated him with “love” in a way where he wasnt having a relationship where an exchange or reward would always be expected. his past with his mother (which i will might talk about more eventually) also shows how jumin has been raised to be more methodical and just. like a robot honestly, raised with no love and any time to express his emotions after being so… emotionless? he was never really taught that feeling, and ig it could be difficult to “teach” if he’s never really experienced much love or time to find times where he could be happy, sad, etc. etc. when he’s at home all the time surrounded with expectations and studies to prepare to become a ceo. okay kinda went off and mentioned the dlc anyways, but whatever. there’s a lot more to jumin’s character, which makes him complex imo and although i dont think i’ll be able to cover everything, just wanted to say that there’s been a lot going on for him, but it still cant completely excuse his actions at times!

and please note this is just my opinion on a fictional character, i would be glad to hear any thoughts anyone reading this has <3 this is a little personal analysis/thought post and there could (and could be a high chance) that i am wrong about some things! :] so take what i say with a grain of salt bc tbh im writing this all in one try and probably wont reread what i have, mainly a big fat ramble / word dump here!

i remember lowkey being confused about how fast mc & jumin’s relationship escalated at first bc it went from yeah just casually chatting in the casual route to everyone saying that mc has been the one causing jumin to smile more, to speak out more openly about his actual emotions for once, etc. but im not complaining, i still loved how jumin would say he would call mc just to hear their voice, saying it would calm him down and feel better. and other stuff along those lines. also why is his deep voice so hot.

biggest and greatest shoutout to jaehee being the best employee ever??? like, she’s been working overtime ALL THE TIME, doing extra work for jumin like researching about the scandals, having to reschedule things after jumin acts unreasonable 💀 while trying to keep everything in order. she deserves a raise, a promotion, a break, a vacation. like, i am picking every option that is defending her or telling her to take a break or that she’s doing great!!! i love jaehee and i hate to see how she never gets rest or food :[ not healthy, i was SO GLAD that she was able to finally get a vacay at the end of jumin’s route, but now im like, girl deserves to quit honestly if she was constantly treated like that at work 😭 which im glad it what happened in her route, which also makes me want to play her route next but i have no time. and now i will shut up and continue writing.

okay, so i remember i was kinda loving jumin again at this point lol. i remember just liking how he became more romantic & the times where he would be jealous. a lot of the phone calls he had were also great, and it was cute that he made pancakes for breakfast, & how he read a bedtime story like. pretty cute stuff!

LMAO and then i was like hm the red flags are kinda showing! but i am a bull and i love chasing red flags! jumin wanting mc to only look at him - you got it sir. possessive jumin! the kiss scene was surprising - honestly very unexpected bc he just kissed mc so randomly ??? at least he said that he was originally thinking of asking mc for permission or something like that? but yeah soap opera scene that i was like hm. then he was like “you can suck in all my emotions. you can be mine.” and i was like. oh. elizabeth’s disappearance is REALLY gonna make a difference here, huh. for the first time, jumin realized that he never really had someone like mc before? jk, he had rika and v with him back then where he was also open to them, but i feel like the biggest thing was how vulnerable jumin was atm? like, he’s in this fight with his father, who he had always been close to. rika and v are both not around to consult with. elizabeth had gone missing. he was beginning to refuse to listen to rta members and instead begin to protect who he had left, similar to the way he had described how he felt better after seeing elizabeth in a cage as opposed to when she was walking freely. he definitely needs to speak to a therapist himself. but without support from others, it probably was what he saw as one of the only solutions he can turn to? this was the first time he’s started to really open up and speak about his feelings bc he’s always just. never had a chance to be able to express them or be able to explain them ?! never really was taught these things, though it seems like he was also aware that it wasn’t right. lots of things going on showing that yeah, he definitely was not doing okay emotionally in the first place, pretty much!

this is kinda getting long now?? and im a bit lazy to continue writing so much more, so ill stop rambling too much and cover more. the way jumin was getting extremely possessive too was worrying like 🫢🚩 he really said we have everything in this penthouse! stay here forever and ill protect you from the outside world and its dangers! let me own you! and i was like sure, take me away when i did the bad ending. sorry for indulging ? BUT DAMN it was very unsettling to see him say that he would OWN mc like ??? ayo what!

and then all the rfa members were like ah. hopefully jumin is having a Very Healthy And Normal relationship as they speak in the chat room. while jumin and mc enjoy a nice dinner with jumin speaking about how great it would be for mc to stay home and try on all the things he had for her while never returning to the apartment! day 2 with jumin on his home - any way out? who knows! zen rlly was like. GET MC OUT OF THERE.

everything that happened in jumin’s route was just ESCALATING 📈📈📈 okok but from my screenshots, it begins to show how jumin is like. Yeah. i am pretty Bad and Dark for doing this and having all these thoughts that he doesn’t really know how to address ? emotions that he’s never had before coming out like hello! and he’s like, wtf do i do with you guys? he’s having a hard time out here. very open to mc who is, atm, the only one who could help him sort out his emotions & depending on the choices you choose, could really determine what jumin ends up doing with his emotions and how much he can control them? and like, mc can either feed into a more healthy relationship where jumin begins to feel like he does deserve love and that these feelings might stem from how little he felt in the past. or mc could feed into a much harmful/toxic relationship as seen in the bad ending. !!! very interesting huh. also shows how much jumin has begun to depend on mc after everything that happened in these last like. two days.

now im like 💀 this is the most ive ever written for a review so far yet, i literally just dumped out some random thoughts i had on 4 hours of sleep, and i should def be sleeping rn!! but it’s okay!! sorry if i wrote anything that doesn’t make sense in these last paragraphs ??? i wont cover the seven and yoosung at mint eye hq to save time/space.

on a more light hearted note: yay!!! jaehee finally gets her vacation!!! jaehee gets justice!!! also watching zen and jumin bicker in the chat room is honestly one of the most hilarious things in this game. jumin in the chat room with mc plus another member usually ends up with the member becoming a third wheel and also very annoyed when jumin and mc are like i miss you <3 you’re so cute <3 ily <3 and every single rfa member is absolutely begging them to just privately message each other at this point lmao. AND NOT @ JUMIN HAVING THE WHOLE MARRIAGE THEME GOING ON HIS RFA ACCOUNT???! 😭😭😭 but i would happily marry jumin. so yeah at this point it was pretty much guaranteed i was getting the good ending, didnt get the bad ending during the route so we are here with jumin being very romantic in the chat room! 🫢

homestretch! we made it to day 11 of the party!! the new home screen again is sooo cute. i didn't know they changed it up when it's party day! also looking at everyone, realized that jumin is So Cute. i love his looks. just a very handsome guy. love him for that. i am going to make this extremely short because i am now tired of doing all of this analysis and deep thinking. i want to make funnies of jumin and my headcannons of him now. scrumgus. i don't even know if that's the right word i'm thinking of but the energy scrumgus gives describes my love for jumin yay! it was nice seeing the rfa meet mc for the first time in person, and it was also great that the entire party was voiced! it felt weird hearing them talk tbh its like. i only know their voices from their little emojis. and the occasional phone calls. okay but that is getting off track. loved how dramatic jumin was for this party. he invited glam choi and sarah, and had this Great Big Speech that sarah was totally in love with, and instead it ended up being about mc. lmaooo. i cannot remember but was jumin the one who chose mc's dress? or am i just remembering wrong? idk. i also need to read the after ending (after forgetting that it existed for a second!)

wow. jumin's route was definitely a very big and twisty roller coaster. i wish i had completed the common routes before replaying jumin's route again just to be able to see and compare how emotionally open jumin was in his route compared to in other routes? like, we get a glimpse of just your everyday business jumin in the common route, but idk. i just wish i got screentime(?) of everyone in general too!

i love jumin a lot. after living his life filled with these expectations of being a ceo. being the perfect employee (which i also found interesting to hear about how everyone had admired/looked up to him at work. he's definitely skilled at what he does, and he barely mentions anything about that himself!) and then the way he began to actually open up? love that for him.

i love jumin a lot actually. and it was pretty nice for me to look over and think about everything after completing his route in general. even though my memory is garbage (tbh had to heavily rely on the screenshots i took), i liked being able to take the time to kinda add in my thoughts on everything while i typed this all out. literally did not do any thinking at all. i have no brain or patience for that and i rarely write this big ass essays or whatever this ended up becoming??? nice change. idk if i'll ever do this again, not my style and i had to force myself to finish this. also am Nervous of posting this T_T. but yeah! i love jumin. i am a jumin stan. and again, if anyone would like to correct me or add on to anything that i have written here, that would be very cool with me! review that got pretty rushed in the end is finally done hooray!

On Sophie vs Kate and being interclass. Actually, Book Sophie is a higher class than Show Kate. While Show Kate is of common birth, not to mention foreign birth, Book Sophie’s legal documentation lists her as the legitimate daughter of a dead gentleman, and the legal ward of an Earl (her biological father, who is straight up lying to the county registry). Furthermore, the Earl provided for Sophie upon his death by bestowing her a large dowry. Sophie only became working class because Araminta threw her out and stole her money. If Araminta hadn’t thrown her out originally, and later been so loud about Sophie being a bastard, Benedict could’ve married “daughter of unknown country gentleman” without scandal, and they wouldn’t have had to live in the country unless they wanted to. Book Sophie’s social status was basically Harriet Smith of Emma, who could’ve had a respectable marriage to Elton if Elton hadn’t been an asshole.

I have no idea how they’re going to fix the unforced error of messing with Show Kate’s birth though. The Sharmas could’ve just been gentry poor, like the Sheffields in the books?!? There was truly no reason for Lord Rupert Giles Sheffield to exist on the show.

On paper, she was legally gentry. But in the eyes of society, she was a bastard. a by blow, the illegitimate daughter of an earl and some courtesan somewhere. completely undesirable. etc. I made a very long post about why this meant Benedict retired hapily to the country with her and wasn't really invited to balls, I did it last year, I remember.

Now Kate's upbringing is different, Mary married an unnamed clerk, Mr Sharma, who already had a daughter Kate. And we are not given any more information on how Kate's father managed to meet the diamond of the season and have her agree to run away with him to India.

Which, to me, dear reader meant that Mr Sharma in question had to be a gentleman. But one looked down upon by higher parts of society, such as some sort of graduated professional or a barrister. sort of how Mr Colins and Mr Darcy where both Gentlemen but Mr Colins was regarded as beneath Darcy.

Ok ok im back. Its been like 2 minutes since i sent the ask but i wanted to add that the first time Scoob uses his ballyhoo onscreen, we have the little star show up again! Its on his collar and as the thumbnail for the chapter, so idk if its still there in later chapters but i do think Scoob has the blessing from the very start. Maybe it wasnt planned THAT far back but also the whole Mick/Shaggy reveal was sorta planned since we always see Shaggy 2's eyes in the costume even from day 1 so who knows. Maybe it was planned but the creator (i forgot their name im so sorry) pulled back on the symbolism? probbsly not but im just firing off ideas lmao

HI WELCOME BACK- okay yes that's a really good point. I will say that I don't think the entities may have been planned that far back, but honestly I don't know! I read in an interview with the creator Dingo that he didn't originally plan for a larger storyline. Scoob and Shag was planned to be a bunch of separate shitposts, but as time went on he added continuity as a joke. I don't remember if he said at what point he sat down and plotted out the full story, so who knows!

I do agree tho that the reveal with Shaggy 2 was definitely planned, even if maybe the exact identity of "Mickey" might not have been figured out. The focus on the eyes is too obvious for me to assume that there wasn't something planned there. Also, side-note, looking back at those updates, I just want to say. I fucking hate that little bastard. Shaggy 2 (for lack of a better name for him) is one of my favorite characters b/c he's so fucking interesting and I want him to make a comeback and (in my dreams) maybe some kind of redemption arc, but when he's in that awful costume? I hate him. I love horror but GODDAMN.

Even tho I don't know if the entities were planned that far back, I think you're onto something, and I think the star being brought back later might've been intentional to tie back to the earlier updates. Because, yeah, it's a VERY interesting thing to notice. If we go with the theory that Scoob had Cyan's blessing from the beginning and only unlocked it later as he regained more of his memories (which again would make him the first to receive a blessing), then yeah 100% you're onto something.

(Also even if the entities weren't planned at all in part one, I want to say that it had to be a deliberate choice that Mickey only has red eyes post-Coward King. This comic's use of color is incredibly specific and deliberate and I'm gonna go ahead and take all of it as being meaningful.)

witch hat atelier ponies! here come the magic dads and their adopted children. all of them have trauma! (i know we didnt get that tetia backstory yet but have you seen this series? id be more surprised if there wasnt a sad backstory hiding in that voluminous pink hair)

since im pretty happy with this one, have a wall of text about cutie mark reasoning, some headcannons and other random ramblings below

- first off, the doodles on the left show how witches of each pony tribe draw the seals; earth ponies have retractable ink wands, pegasi use wingtip wands. unicorns pose a bit of a problem here given theyre already magic horses, so WHA unicorns can only perform the most basic magic there is in mlp canon ie object levitation. we will conveniently ignore the question of how they hide their seal drawing when theyre not really wearing any clothes. the ratio of each tribe in witch population is 60:30:10 unicorns:pegasi:earth ponies. due to this unicorns are generally viewed as best witches (where classical unicorns are held above regular ones); then pegasi, then earth ponies, however, this is more a matter of stereotypes than inherent biology traits.

- im gonna go character by character, left to right, note some titbits if i have any about them, and add in my reasoning behind each cutie mark. i am sticking to only one set of character names, if you read a different translated version and are used to another way a name is written.... look agott alone has like a dozen of them, im not writing them all out okay? okay good lets go

olruggio: him and his disaster husband have complimenting designs; i opted to go for that fire and water duality with them, rather than just black and white. so olly has dark red coat against qifrey´s light blue. admittedly, making him a pegasus wasnt all that deliberate decision, he would probably make a good unicorn just fine, but i figured making them all unicorns is predictable and boring, so why not have some fun? he can have some flying, as a treat (we will omit sylph shoes existing in case of this crossover). his cutie mark is a contraption tool inside a flame; both pretty obvious choices, he is an inventor and the one character with an entire monologue about a fire.

qifrey: correct me if im wrong, but i think qifrey is juuuuust a tiny bit taller than olruggio in the manga, so the drawing reflects it. his cutie mark is a water drop creating ripples in the water surface; the water aspect in him is clear. his decision to take coco in is what jump starts all the events that unfold, and his relentless pursuit of brimcaps show he is not someone to, pardon the awkward pun, let the waters stay calm.

- agott: ah. she. my favorite, best character right here, prepare for me going off. unlike everyone else, agott´s ears are perpetually folded (she is one serious and a little bit grumpy child after all), but that doesnt necessarily mean she always feels grumpy or sad. she just prefers using words to emoting, which is entirely fair. i hear all zero of you asking, why isnt she a unicorn? surely the arklaums would all be fancy unicorns (yes, really, i think akrome is the most spread around version of her surname, but like i said im sticking to the translated version i prefer because like, again theres at least five different ways this surname is translated), given theyre one of the original houses, shouldering that legacy. reason is twofold: one, being born an earth pony, the one with a runaway gene (here´s where i point to the cake twins as canon mlp example), enhances her status as the family outcast; gives one more reason for her desperation to prove herself to her family. two, it gives her another connection to coco, something she despises at first but then accepts and even cherishes later as she gets to know coco. and because angst is the fuel that keeps me afloat, here´s a fun twist: do yall remember chapter 23, where iguin starts tattooing a forbidden spell on agott´s lower arm but doesnt finish it? i remember. now,  kamome shirahama the series´creator doesnt, as far as ive noticed at least, keep this unfinished spell on agott´s arm (granted its like, just one long line canonically so maybe i just missed it), but to me its way too intriguing of a concept. so pony agott has an incomplete seal on her hoof where you can tell its a seal, and boi does it cause problems to both agott´s psyche and bring unwanted outside attention (you bet there was at least one confrontation with knights moralis over this). she generally hides it under a bracer if theyre away from the atelier. now, her cutie mark is the one im most proud of; a book and a purple bird (specifically a phoenix) in front. the book symbolizes both her personal goal to become a librarian in the tower of tomes, and her main strength as a witch, that is technique derived from studying and hard work. the phoenix symbolizes a cycle of change, of rebirth. she was rejected from house arklaum only to find herself in qifrey´s atelier; a second chance to prove herself. the endless cycle of changes in her life, and she does her best to keep rolling with them. and in her own words, she always strives to become someone better, never content to be as she is now.

coco: as mentioned, coco is an earth pony, an obvious choice for the regular-person-thrusted-into-magical-world characters. she is actually really stoked about agott being an earth pony as well, since agott being so skilled with magic gives coco hope she will be great in her own way one day. brushbuddy enjoys being carried by coco, ponies are fluffy. her cutie mark is a wand, but the tip is a painting stone; a link between her old-new calling of magic finally given a chance, and her past as daughter of a seamstress and her ability to draw perfect straight lines. longing, working towards a future where she can both keep her magic and return her mom from petrification.

richeh: now, like qifrey, i made richeh a unicorn, but unlike qifrey, she is a classical unicorn; that means sligtly tilted ears, longer and curvier horn, and a leonine tail. her trademark deadpan stare is of course included. her cutie mark is an ink wand changing into one of her crystal ribbons, a symbol of her originality and the way she wants to keep her spells her own.

tetia: she has a habit of pronking instead of walking, fitting given she´s the most pinkie pie-esque character in WHA. and also im still terrible at drawing pegasi in flight, but we dont have to talk about that part. her cutiemark is rather simple, a cloud and a rainbow. rainbow for her general disposition and her focus on gratitude, and the cloud for her proficiency/interest in cloud magic.

thats about it! i talked way too much about this, i´ll probably end up drawing some more stuff for WHA.

1. How many words have you written this year?

i published 110,143 words this year! written...... no clue.

the first half of this year was mostly spent working on the jdau, but the second half was mostly spent on working on oc stuff that i dont post anywhere. i have no way of tracking how much i wrote for that bc this year i shifted all of my oc works from google docs to saved files on my computer, so the dates are all fucking wrong. ; ; if you add that mystery number onto the mystery number of scrapped projects and wips..... theres no telling. theres no telling.

2. How many works did you publish this year?

i posted 12 works on ao3 this year, not counting the fics i rewrote. i posted 9 drabbles on tumblr. this wasnt a great drabble year for me, i think.

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

i like the afterlife drabble i wrote about jason and nico. i feel like every time i write about them theres just something so bittersweet and punchy about it. it was a cool idea that kind of leaves me thinking about the world behind it, but not in a way that needs to be elaborated on.

as far as fics psoted on ao3, maybe under the skin? its such a different dynamic, and the tension is drawn so taut, it walks the line perfectly between violence/hatred and grief/love. its one im always second guessing myself about, but i had so much fun with it, sometimes i just have to remind myself its okay to make things just for the sake of exploration/indulgence.

4. What work of yours has the most hits?

snow day, with about 1k hits. i think thats the fic where a lot of people stop reading the jdau. its short, its fluffy, and i do actually still love this one a lot. i wrote it when i needed it.

5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?

i feel like a lot of my drabbles this year were really weak, so ive been surprised by the number of notes some of them have gotten. otherwise, mostly oc stuff? ive always struggled with sharing original content bc it never feels interesting enough, but the few friends i have shared it with have been so supportive and it means everything. @roomfulloferidans and @ashysiashy especially are always encouraging me and motivating me to keep making more, and i mightve given it up a long time ago otherwise tbh

6. Favorite title you used

oh thats gotta be The Family Disappointment actually. i like how much meaning and interpretation is embedded in it. if youve been reading the jdau, you might think its jason, but seeing that the fic centers damian, you might think its him. both boys struggle with feeling like theyre bruces biggest disappointment, but the fic is about brotherly solidarity, and recognizing that maybe bruce is actually the disappointment.

honorary mention to under the skin, bc i think that one was very funny/clever. i also named some oc works "the debilitating fear of garage doors" and "the inherent eroticism of handholding" and i like those a lot.

7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?

its a fucking miracle. for once, i didnt use any.

my oc fic, the inherent eroticism of handholding, which im 99% sure i did write this year? it captures a very specific kind of uncertain tenderness where a crush is new and theyre feeling out flirting still. i think about the scene where theyre lying together in the dark while everyone sleeps and holding hands for a reason they cant justify, not looking at each other, talking about nothing, all the time. i also rlly like the oc fic i just finished a lot- domestic(ated).

that i published, i guess under the skin for reasons i already talked about.

Water dripped from Two Face's curls and slid off of his nose, spattering against the symbol on Bruce's chest. He found himself blinking hard, his breathing coming fast and tight. "You told me- You were supposed to be- Not even in death. Not even in death, would you have ever told me."

For a while, Two Face just let the breeze wash over him, ruffling his hair as his skin prickled from the chill. A siren blared somewhere in the distance, and he sucked sauce absently from his thumb, setting aside the tupperware. “I care deeply about this city,” the TV crackled. “That’s why I’m donating-” Two Face tucked a cigarette between his lips, pulling his lighter out of his pocket. There was a ritual to it. The slow inhale, the gradual exhale. The wind pulled the smoke from his lips, and it disappeared over the rooftops. Bruce’s laugh washed over Two Face. It was vapid and fake over the airwaves, but the memory of it rattled around Two Face’s chest, warm and startled as they rolled in the sheets in Bruce’s dorm. Longing took hold and ached.

Under the Skin. there are a lot of great lines from this one, but this may be my favorite

hi i was the reboot massacre anon. it wasnt only you there were a couple people i was responding to. thank you for answering though!! youve got some interesting insights (i mean this genuinely)

im gonna be real i forgot a lot of details because it's been a While since i gave up. i had like a vague memory of starting to like the rich kid villain but then feeling like that stopped and didnt end up going much anywhere? i guess that mustve been "starting to get more backstory but then he didnt show up again forever."

also i worded the kevin and albedo thing badly: i did like new kevin for the most part actually, he was interesting. i was more disappointed about lack of albedo, since he was one of my absolute favorites. that one is on me for just clinging to old continuity.

but there are a lot of new designs i like too. most of the blue energy fused versions of aliens were really cool, as were kevin's corrupted/upgraded versions, and even that steampunk xlr8 that was only in like one episode. im not just like Unilaterally Hating Things That Are New theres a lot of neat stuff in the reboot

i dont think most of my complaints are with old vs new continuity. my biggest issues were just feeling like theres a lot of inconsequential filler, flat characters, and confusing or lacking motivations. to me, most episodes felt like EITHER the writers/producers didnt respect the characters/world enough to fully think through the logic of what characters are doing or what impact they have on the worldbuilding (my initial lizard-brain emotional reaction), OR theyre being forced to churn out so MANY episodes one after another that they dont have time to give "minor details" as much thought (my later conclusion after thinking on it). but maybe this gets better in later seasons though! thats why i was thinking i might try again.

in particular, the way you describe ben's reaction to the knight (i remember there being the beginnings of a new knight villain) is interesting to me, even if max's reaction is odd. because the fact that ben shows panic at all feels like more character depth than i ever saw in the early eps. like thats interesting to me because theyre really considering the consequences of how an actual ten year old (or anyone really!!) might actually react to someone powerful so easily and repeatedly swatting him aside. even original ben didnt get to be afraid very often. makes the characters feel more real if they can have negative reactions to things.

Sadly, you're right that Billy (rich kid villain) didn't show up much again after he started getting insights into his backstory. Even when he did, any forward progress he could've made was quickly torn away from him. I can think of at least two times he could've had some character growth, and, indeed, even HAD character growth, only for said growth to then be rescinded for the end-of-episode gag. He pretty much ended the series the same as he started it, which is a total tragedy. I hope if the reboot timeline is continued in the future that they make him a full-fledged friend of the Tennysons, but I also doubt it'll happen  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I also totally get what you mean by missing Albedo! He's such a cool guy, and I think the reboot could've done something really fascinating with him if they added him to the cast. I'm not sure if it would've been something good, necessarily, but definitely interesting all the same. Personally, I'm okay with him not being in the reboot (despite how much I like him), just because I really enjoyed the cast that we already had, and I'd be worried that we would have to get rid of one character just to add Albedo. But I definitely get wishing he were in the reboot! I've seen a lot of fanart of him in the reboot style, because a lot of people feel the same as you!

I agree with the complaints about inconsequential filler. Unfortunately, the reboot is stuffed to the brim with it. I guess that's what happens when you only have ten minutes and an episodic cartoon style to tell a story... sadly, you have to spend most of that time doing absolutely nothing new. I'm glad that your conclusion is different than your original perspective, though! From what I've seen of the crew that worked on the show, it seems like a lot of them really respect the franchise and enjoyed the characters (Kelly Turnbull in particular has had the best tweets talking about it IMO). I definitely understand the initial kneejerk reaction of thinking that they disrespected the franchise and didn't care about the story, especially in the shock of moving from the prime timeline to the reboot timeline, but I'm glad you moved on from that thought! For a lot of prime timeline fans who tried reboot and dropped it, it seems like that initial kneejerk reaction is what stopped a lot of them, so I totally get it.

Although I disagree with thinking the characters are flat and have confusing or lacking motivations, I also understand where you get that idea from. The episode format (ten minutes long, mostly just jokes and action sequences for a large amount of the show) definitely doesn't do it any favor, and a lot of the time the only time you can get actual character depth is when you're least expecting it, or else in a special/movie. That's definitely one of the downsides of reboot. Some of the characters, like Max, are pretty one-dimensional, too, I'm sad to say. Kids cartoons nowadays often seem to dumb-down the adults, which is tragic.

Ultimately, I think a lot of the depth of reboot comes from having to do a bit of deeper thinking on your own, rather than just accepting what the reboot gives you. Like, yeah, Billy seems pretty flat on the surface, but then you have to think about how dismissive his parents are, how it seems like there's nobody in the world who truly cares about him, and how it's obvious deep down that he genuinely wants friendship but is never allowed to get it, and he's pretty interesting. Or, Charmcaster just seems like some kid who ran away from home to live out her witchy dreams, but then you look a little deeper and realize she was being groomed and predated upon by a being that was centuries old and only using her as a battery, and suddenly her vitriol at the world starts to make sense. A lot of the depth, you have to connect dots to find it. It's there! But it's hidden. Personally, I enjoy doing that sort of deep searching. It's in my nature to overthink everything. But I definitely understand why you might not have noticed it on first watch, especially if you didn't watch the right episodes.

I think you are pretty correct on your later deduction, that they don't have enough time to give the little details attention thanks to the sheer amount of episodes they had to put out. They make a pretty good big picture, but the small picture does lack, unfortunately.

If I could be so bold as to suggest what to watch? If you find that you really can't sit through the entire reboot, but you really do want to see why some people (like me) sing its praises so highly, I suggest you skip almost the entirety of the first season, picking up on the season finale (Omni-Tricked parts 1-4). From there, season finales, specials, and the movie are good to watch. I also suggest all of the Forever Knight episodes, because every episode with him in it that I can remember furthers the plot of his arc. I would also watch the Michael Morningstar episodes. Not all Kevin episodes are necessary to watch, but I find they're almost always some of the most enjoyable, so I suggest just watching all of them. Charmcaster episodes are usually pretty good. I personally like the Billy episodes, but like we've already discussed, his character doesn't really go anywhere permanently, always losing its gains by the end of the episode. Episodes with Phil are usually pretty good, or at least okay, and I'm pretty sure at least a few of them advance the plot or hint at backstory. Really, I've seen at least two posts on two different social media sites about plot-based episodes of the reboot to watch, so if you looked it up on Google, you could probably find them and have a better idea of what to watch!

Honestly, the thing a lot of people don't realize about reboot, is that it actually does a pretty fantastic job (imho) of handling serious topics and the characters negative emotions. That episode with the Knight is one example, but if you want another example, then I'll humbly point you to the Ben 10,010 special. In said special, we see Ben in the future as a washed up and burnt out hero, living a solitary life away from all friends and family. This is the future that he eventually ends up at after all his years of heroics, and I think it's the most realistic; what person could grow up normal after being forced to become a hero so young? After living through unimaginable horrors? After having the very universe itself thrust onto their shoulders? In the end, my greatest complaints with that special is that we don't see future Kevin as a human, we don't see Glitch in his humanoid form, and Ben does the loathsome "gains a lot of weight while depressed but he loses it all at the end to show that he actually is all better now!" trope. But this special and that episode aren't the only ones we see the characters deal with negative emotions! I know Gwen has an episode where she handles feeling unappreciated and uncared for, and Ben actually has another episode featuring the Knight where he deals with negative emotions like not being trusted by his family and not being listened to. On its face, reboot doesn't look like it would ever handle these topics, but it does, and I think it does a pretty great job of it! They're usually resolved pretty quickly, but what can you expect from a ten minute long episodic series?

Haha, sorry again for the word spam, but yeah! Like I said before, I totally understand if you try reboot again and still end up not liking it. It isn't for everybody, and that's totally okay! That said, I hope that if you DO end up giving it another chance, you enjoy it! Who knows, stranger things have happened, right? Like an alien watch falling to Earth and giving a random ten year old the power to shapeshift
