i'd like to start by saying that grayson is an introvert, obviously. but this man is anything but shy. he just hates people. he would have met the reader at the hawthorne foundation as a new employee. there's nothing this man loves more than intimidating people, having power over them. so he'd love how shy the reader is. so it wasn't anything new that someone (reader) is intimidated by him. he would notice that she is scared to give her opinion in front of others. he'll notice that she doesn't interact with anyone and is scared of grayson (he runs the foundation and pays her so ofc) he'll personally talk to her and assure her saying that she doesn't need to shy away or be scared of him unless she has done something terribly wrong  ever since he had a word with her, he started checking her out a lot.  they talk again at a charity event, he found her in a corner holding her drink.  “shouldn’t you be with the others?” he asked her. “i'm not really a people's person” she gave him a shy smile. they talk for a bit and bond over how they dont like public events because of people  he learnt that she doesn't like them because she gets anxious around people, grayson hates them because he has to make small talk. grayson would stare at her then and there and every time she catches him she blush so much that she'd have to turn her face.  eventually after months grayson would ask her out she'd reject him at first because they're working together  but grayson hawthorne can be persuasive and irresistible he'll take her to a private picnic spot for their first date since she doesn't like public places that much their first kiss was when she was yapping about her interest and fit the first time grayson saw her without an sign of shyness or anxiousness he kissed her midway  she pulled a rory gilmore and said “thank you” grayson chuckled and kissed her again grayson would leave her secret love notes on her desk every week he'd hold her hands and caress them with his thumb every time when they're in a crowded place he'll always order for her he'll do all the talking if she doesn't feel like it he'll encourage to speak up he'll give her tips (hawthorne tips) on how to make people believe you're confident and have power  even though they're official reader still feels scared to kiss him or hold his hand on her own without him doing it first grayson will notice it and get self conscious. “why won't you kiss me?” he'd ask her “i'm scared, what if you don't want me to kiss at certain times? or get annoyed when i hold your hand all the time” she'd explain it to him anxiously. grayson would gently kiss her and let her know that he'd never not want her kissed and his hand's sole purpose is for her to use them as a stress relief toy, she can hold it, squeeze it even scratch it, he doesn't care. after a year, shed be the one to boss over him

Honestly, the double standard for WC characters is so weird (and misogynistic of course). Nobody thinks it's weird ships like SquirrelCr0w <- (so it doesn't go into the tag) is weird, when most depictions overlook Crowfeather's abusive behavior or even ignore what he did to Breezpelt entirely? His neglect of Breezepelt is treated as afterthought if ever acknowledged at all. His treatement of Leafpool or Nightcloud? Nah, who cares about that! His red flags in his relationships after Feathertail aren't even there. Crowfeather would be a great father to Squirrelflight's kits and mate, unlike stinky Bramblestar (who he acts near identical to anyways, and the only difference is he doesn't have an unhealthy power dynamic as her leader or deputy to use against her). Heck, from what I've seen it's usually Feathertail encouraging him to be sooo niceys too, so it's not like HE does introspection (ofc I'm sure that's not always the case but still worth bringing up), so it's not even a matter of him growing as a person. Meanwhile, if you decided to ship Palebird with anyone people would start freaking out. Or if you even breath about Nightcloud since the fandom and books are so desperate to absolve their little uwu boy. I get that AUs are supposed to be fun, but the double standard is so annoying. Especially when it means they act like Crowfeather would ever be sweet as pie to anyone- 💀 no he wouldn't even his so-called redemption book he kept going "god i wish the son i didn't care enough to raise would die already" because he's not saying I'M a good father to him or backing me up!".

i generally understand crowsquirrel as like. a ship that makes sense in the context of tnp where the two actually have an entire journey to bond, but i also just generally don't agree that the two would get on very well after a while. but you know, most of it exists in for fun au's and even though i have my little crowfeather haterisms, i'm not gonna fault anyone for having fun with a sillay little ship au.

but then yeah it is a little like. why dont i get my silly little au then. why can't i believe in a world where the women in warrior cats can actually like each other lol

i feel like a fake christian.

this is something i’ve been struggling with my whole life — but it is resurfaced when i had a conversation w my friends abt witchcraft n the bible n whatnot. she said something along the lines of “you’re not a christian because you believe witchcraft is okay.”

first of all… what? right before this my other friend said “a lot of people in the bible pick and choose what they believe. for example — christian’s aren’t allowed to eat seafood bc it’s seen as impure” and the same girl from earlier agreed n said “i still love my crab legs” 💀 LMDAOOA

im friends w everyone mentioned in this convo btw, so dont worry. no hate to any of them.

during this conversation, i js agreed with the one, let’s call her sarah, that said believing witchcraft is okay makes me not a christian.

sarah made me feel bad — invalidated in a way. i remember walking out that class feeling fake, like i am wrong for what i believe and i need to remove everything that isn’t said in the most common places in the bible from my life.

I also love Angelica and think she's so great - there's another video on her youtube where she says people should only lose their virginity in their 20's - what do you think about this? I agree with her sentiment to an extent and I do think as a woman I was put into many situations that make me feel used now and I am sure this can negatively affect men as well.. I just kind of felt ashamed/worried after watching the video because she said that having sex very young can negatively set you up for life and I agree to an extent but I think there's more nuance to it than a 20 minute youtube video can express.. i think losing ur virginity/wait with sex until ur in ur 20s is probably ideal tbh and i would absolutely encourage it for anyone who is in their teens rn and havent had their sexual debut yet. main reason being that u will be old enough to understand sex and its risks and effects and u will have had time to figure ur own body out more and u will most likely have at the very least basic level emotional intelligence and maturity that is required to have safe and healthy and enjoyable sex. like u have just finished puberty and just left teenagehood behind which is a messy and confusing and rough lifestage for all of us and ur now entering adulthood and have gained some perspective etc and u are way more in tune with urself (at the very least compared to when u were a teen) and both ur body and brain will be developed enough to be able to handle sex and have a realistic attitude around it and while ofc u can still be manipulated and u may still be somewhat naive it wont be anywhere near AS easy to manipulate u as it would have been earlier bc thats just how it is. u might still be vulnerable maybe sure but if ur vulnerable now u were even MORE vulnerable when u were a teen. its just how it is. thats how growing up works. u will probably have a way easier and more enjoyable sexual debut in ur 20s bc u will have a headstart in so many ways both physically and emotionally.

BUT im not gonna pretend like its that black and white and simple. Many girls (and boys but im focusing on women here) have perfectly normal and healthy sexual encounters when they are teenagers and i rly dont believe that sex will just automatically traumatize and harm u when ur a teen bc lets be real here, the key here is that u explore sex with UR PEERS, boys and girls within ur own age group, NOT ppl that are 20+ when u are like 14-16. when ur a high schooler and u want to explore sex u do it with other high schoolers. ppl ur own age. I think its perfectly fine and normal to have sex when ur a teen, but that is assuming u are having sex with other teens. NOT ppl that are like 5 years older than u. thats when actual impactful long lasting harm becomes highly likely. feeling like u got used and heartbroken by a boy in ur school aka a boy that is ur peer and ur own age will hurt and suck and will leave an impact on u but its a very different impact than the one u will be left with if u felt taken advantaged of by someone much older (not a teen). the dynamics are whats important here i think.

sex and relationships are messy and yes u can always get fucked up from it thats just how it is. u cant avoid it. u just need to be able to handle it and maybe ur not ready to handle it until ur like 25, thats fine. dont do it then. like if u dont think ur ready, just wait until u are. if ur like 15 and feel ready then go ahead but STICK TO PPL UR OWN AGE when ur that young. u gotta be equals. period.

some advice i can concentrate better on - as a mentionned yesterday it is definitly true that i like challenge and i got motivated by the idea of trying to find a way to make concentrating in class smth stimulating for my brain ofc i still need to find ways to it right but its a really charming idea to me! i also need to focus at home and get work done there to be able to concentrate better in class so its a whole process that im ready to try out with the method your proposed to me

motivation - feeding my soul, how poetic wow it is true that im very lucky to study what im studying rn and its actually stuff that are useful in life and if i dont find it interesting then maybe it can still be informations that i can share with others right? there is an enormous amount of material in every law classes so i wont be able to memorize everything but your advice made me see things differently and i actually want to try to remember most of it on the LONG TERM and not only for exams! once again it is an advice that really speaks to me and that i will think about when studying

balance - i actually LOVE lists/ plannings/ etc like writing everything i want to do for the day and packing my schedule with many different stuff like seeing many friends, doing productive stuff for school, doing my hobbies it really helps me see how i spend my time and share out the different things i do (so i dont do the same thing over and over again) and i cant believe i FORGOT about it like i actually stopped doing it and i forgot i am so grateful for this advice

relationships - my friends often complain that i dont share intimate things with them like my daily problems and all but i actually just dont see what they could do about it? anyway i still struggle with these things i'll try to question myself more often to see whats the right thing to do for everyone when im in a bad spot like you adviced

avoid stress - im really not good at dealing with negative emotions lmaooo its also gonna be a challenging point i'll try to believe as much as i can that stress is not an end its just a signal just like you said once again thank you for your works i'll try my best

self care - its so beautiful! i live in the city so im not that much in contact with nature but its true that whenever i go help my grandmother in the countryside it feels refreshing i just need more time to do so! now that i know its smth that could help me i'll keep that in mind and prioritize doing in these situations! im a taurus after all! even tho earth is only my third dominant element im an earth sign lmao

He is more on the extrovert side of things due to how talkative he can be with total strangers. Thoma tries to be polite due to his status, but he is far more bluntly honest when it comes to people he's close to, Meaning he will appreciate your honesty. Thoma is very understanding of becoming tired when socializing and he may not realize you are snappy but once you do snap at him he tries to help as much as he can. Thoma has a pure and loving soul so I would be quite surprised if he truly irritated you to a point of disliking him. Thoma is too patient at times. He understands that getting close and becoming true friends takes time and he's more than willing to wait for you to be comfortable. Thoma trusts you after time aswell, so you'll both gain from a little longer of a wait rather than just diving in headfirst. Thoma is an expert in reassuring others and helping them with confidence. Hey thanks for being so polite. I dont get many polite asks lol. A short answer to your question: I have seen that too and do not like it myself, but there simply isnt anything I can do about it. Long answer: I assume that its because Im a radical feminist (I am extremely pro-trans and not afraid to say it- huge pronoun respecter, and supporter of all trans and intersex identities. I simply have "radical" beliefs in regards to patriarchy and womens lib). Since TERFs use the feminist hashtagtags (like I do) and have similar discussions to myself (discussions about medical misogyny or femicide for example) perhaps Tumblr thinks we are friends? Because of the similar content of our blogs? It could also be due to the fact that so many of my posts are popular in the feminist community, and they attract loads of TERFs, which I dont discourage! I encourage TERFs to view my posts because I want them to turn away from their bigoted beliefs, and I genuinely believe that seeing a radical feminist (me) who is well-spoken and pro-trans could help them do that. Believe it or not, there are many people on tumblr who are ex-TERFs, and some have told me that what truly deradicalized them was spending time around non-transphobic feminists- both irl and online. This is why I dont block TERFs unless they harass me, and I regularly engage in debates/discussions with them. Ofc many TERFs on tumblr hate my guts for this exact reason and I get hate mail from them all of the time- which I dont usually post bc its vile. I have also had MANY fights with TERFs both on my blog and elsewhere (usually in regards to their transphobia). ( gotta mention that some are very personal & self indulgent bc i see myself in connor a LOT 😭 ) tw for a quick mention of razors .

- i made a post abt this hc here but i’m adding it because it’s the main reason why i use a certain color for connor’s hair , & that is that connor is a ginger ( just like zoe & cynthia ) & he dyes his hair a darker color so he doesn’t look much like them ( & he doesn’t get associated with zoe much at school ) he usually uses a dark brown or even black , but it’s usually very sloppy so his hair ends up being patchy in some areas or just not dark enough .

jesse mccree is a name he plucked off of the unknown history of strangers: a gravestone, a forgotten sign. This blog will always be about people, in a way, the scrappy interconnectedness of humanity and :skull: this name isn't an exception.

There's a shit load of irony in the name Jesse meaning "son of God" when it's the day that he guts himself of his faith and abandons himself (i call it doomsday, sometimes judgement day- bc it is in this visceral rawness of loss - when War comes crashing in from the sky and people are dying all around him - that he is both the furthest and closest to the notion of God, the all mighty, holy fury; and i could actually go off on a tangent here about how deserts are also a place of exactly Just This: spiritual dispossession while also being places of distilled clarity and abstract manifestations of which include the sacred.)

McCree is also funny pick, in the scheme of things, when you find out it means luck; and you could chalk up his survival as a case of it being good or bad. Cole's life can be summarized as the wheel of fortune tarot; tumbling perpetually in mercurial fortunes.

He, ofc, has no fcking clue abt this at the ripe age of 11 when he grasps them off of rotten monuments and only finds the whole thing funny as hell in this private humored way, this wry and wrung-out-dry way, when he finally does find out.

As for his original name's meanings - I will never be normal about Cole - because its English origin is coal; unrefined thing, black and lumpy, but it's potential packed in something unsuspecting and dismissable, all requiring just a spark. Pair this up with his former partner in crime, Ashe, and im vomitting up blood, sobbing, because it's the predecessor of fire and its aftermath. They come hand-in-hand for the chaos they drove in together. Ofc w how i've written my timeline, there's no lining up with him going by Cole during his Deadlock days, but it still makes me sick regardless because He knows even if nobody else does. But tangent aside, it really sums him up in his Blackwatch days. Something to be overlooked, until someone realized he could be used to keep others warm.

Cole also means Victory of the People when you look into its greek origins and :weary: god. It suits his inability to walk away from people in harm's way so very well; that he is of the people in the way he has stumbled through the ups and downs of humanity. That, in his younger ages, he did have a healthy appetite for winning.

Cassidy comes with the meaning of clever, and if there is always one thing I like to reference from his youth and how he was raised, it was that Cole always found his way into trouble, by his own hand or not, and his mother, exasperated, would frequently tell him while picking up the pieces of the aftermath that if he were going to cause trouble, that he should be clever about it. (In other words, she at some point knew her child would keep finding these situations, erring more on believing him more often than not the cause, and that if she could not stop it from happening, she could encourage him to be better about being caught or slipping between the fingers of authority.) She was a bearer of folktales and carried enough on tricksters, but Cole will always be a fan of Zorr.o, funnily enough, as was his father who capitalized on that Clever namesake with his manipulations.

But at a larger scale, his names have also always been a keystone in representing his relationship to himself in past, present, and future-- running from yourself only to find that you've gone full circle, turning around to face your own shadow in order to greet the breaking dawn, etc etc- i don't get to use his Jesse name often, but it's just so important bc his 'birth', his 'baptism', is the thing that came first in all the narrative when the blog first started-

For the longest time this imagery was the root of my blog; Just this hunched figure of a child rising from this primordial earth of a desecrated town and his chest is heaving, animal. He is slathered in dust and ash and everything is so damn quiet and he is so shell shocked and filled with fury that he has regressed to this based thing, distilled to silence, body trembling in the ruinous wake of a war.

Jesse McCree is caked in grime, caked in dirt and dust and blood. He is some heathen thing that desolation itself wrung to life. Jesse McCree, baptized in fire, doused in gunpowder and gasoline. Jesse McCree, wild and angry, eyes hollowed into something deep and dark and black.

Cole Cassidy is a reminder, a damnation, a shade of the past rippling like A DESERT MIRAGE. he is lanky and too weak, hands trembling adrenaline-burdened on a gun he can't shoot STRAIGHT. :weary: Cole Cassidy is rot in his mouth; unwieldy and burdensome like a corpse forcefullly stuffed betwen his jaws. There is so much hatred and scorn and disgust he carries for it, for the weakness it represents, coalesced in his grief and survivor's guilt that the abandonment of his name acts as self-murder and he is so very violent to himself in that regard. It's why he gets so nauseous as a child in the verses where he's not allowed to break free from it, because this is, in a sense, a child's attempt at locking into control when he doesn't have any.

It is his way of jamming his teeth into the threads of his own fate; hauling himself crawling through the desert and stampeding forward with spite buzzing down his arms and into his fists, spiking the light in his eyes as he glares down the hand that was given to him--

That said this is his perception of cole cassidy because he packs all of his weakness into that name, stuffs that failure to shoot true into that person like he's haphazardly pawing in clothes into an overburdened suitcase, but this compartmentalization is not a thing of separate identities as it is simply, a narrative break with him digging his fingerpads against the wheel. in reality, he has always been a bit of a trail blazer, an independent wanderer, a kid with a penchant for trouble and all of this PERSISTS past doomsday with the caveat being there's a lot more PTSD involved in the aftermath.

And, honestly, Cole does grow out of all that anger because he simply does not look back. Jesse let's him throttle forward without the baggage and his eyes are perpetually locked onto the horizon. Because there is nothing to turn back to or go back to if Cole Cassidy is dead, resting with all the other ghosts in a town that's been levelled to nothing.

He rides into maturity as he lives out his years and i could go on about the timeline of it, how it unfolds and all the elements that drive into it since this current portraiture is bleak and somewhat feral, but then i'd be getting really off topic, but :skull: The gist of it is that a lot of these emotions are when he's 11 and he's got a fuck load of time between then and the start of Deadlock Rebels (15) and he doesnt even have to think about Cole Cassidy.

By the time he reclaims his name, he is, amusingly, back in the desert after having left BW/OVW, back to where it all started. He is well into his 30's. Something to be said about the circular nature of everything, time is a flat circle, the return to the start in the third act with a new contextualization etc etc. Dispossessed by yet another belief, made anon in a ghost town after narrowly escaping death and still on the verge of it. (And, god, He cant help but find the whole damn thing morbidly amusing, in a fucked up way, in the same way he found out about the meaning of Jesse. Because he knows that kid he'd been would be losing his absolute shit for coming back to this place that had both made and unmade him after Everything; the idea of it all being for nothing. But he's older, and he's changed, and he can swallow this rut of shit circumstances with a laugh because of course it'd be like this, and by now he's learned to roll with the punches because his life has just been Defined by it-)

Exhuming Cole Cassidy is a survival tactic because it is a name just as lost to time as the effigies that he plucked Jesse McCree from (the latter being of no use anymore with bounty hunters and enemies alike crawling everywhere searching for him), but it is also a return to home. Smthing smthing, sucking the dirt out from under your nails just to taste where you came from . He says it with a certain tired humor when someone first asks his name as he comes to, after a moment's worth of consideration for the circumstances that has brought him here. It feels like a private joke and it feels strange on his tongue, because as used to as he is introducing himself by some false name for BW coverts, this is not a true lie; but then, also, saying it outloud for the first time in years and he realizes the lack of scorn, the lack of self-hate. These things that he hadn't realized he'd been subconsciously expecting/had so severely associated the name with.

He makes the choice to commit to it while determining his next moves in this back-watered town with only a single arm left. Reclaiming his name is self-forgiveness. It is reminiscence and self-reflection that there was no real difference between jesse and cole; that jesse was still strung along by different forces and influenced by them and that there is no newfound invulnerability to the name as he once needed it to be when he was just that 11 yr old. tHERE WE GO

type 1 - googley moogley its all gone to shit

ralsei is very loyal to prophecy, considers player a godlike being and doesnt see any reason to complain of being possessed, so he doesnt like kris going off-track in general. kris views him as a lost cause but doesnt say anything

but then player goes for the weird route or decides to make roaring happen aaaand all ralsei's morals and beliefs get crushed. kris isnt surprised, ofc. the point is ralsei starting to validate others and himself as well as the "higher beings" or whatever. and so on kris tries their best to forgive him and give 'im a chance to be a better person. like to think this happens during the end of the world so its pretty tragic cuz theyd be awesome together if they had more time. but the only thing that forms between them in that short amount of time is some kind of special bond and mutual understanding. trauma buddies, if you will. love it for the angst potential, the cute boi not being perfect and kris showing their own desire to give chances

kris doesnt like ralsei quote unquote cant stand his fake ass. ralsei pretty much convinces player there's nothin to worry abt and waits for his turn to talk to the actual kris patiently. he understands that an unpleased god is a threat and plays along but still thinks that kris deserves better and encourages them in showing their own way of doing things. he reassures them everyone sees their personality glowing through and that theyre capable of leadership in it all. kris appreciates it cuz yk. hits right in the middle and the thought of it brings them comfort. ralsei is happy to watch kris grow and overcome their fears/problems, make new friends, figure out their relationships and just become their own person in general. also im sure kris isnt pleased with ralsei only thinking of others so they try their best to make him feel worthy. it takes time, but eventually he believes it. then something bad happens probably. idk idc up to you but i have a feeling healthy relationships never last long if youre a trans magical goat boy and a blue hair and pronouns teenage jokester

type three - do mi ti why not me

yeah, you guessed it. angst potential

very short. ralsei's genuinely in love and admiration with player and kris gets used to it with time. theyre annoyed at first but theyve never seen such attachment shown towards them (not them actually but you get it) and when they realise it, theyre rlly sad. there isnt any ending to it, thats just how things are. maybe when the main fountain will be sealed theyll miss him. i dont know

type IV - WHAT DO YALL WANT FROM ME

kris is suspicious and curious of ralsei, asks him what's his deal, but ralsei doesnt fucking know himself. he pretty much does what he's told because of lack of alternatives. he's weird in spamtype situations because he's lacking social experience and doesnt know how to deal with trauma. kris recalls the feeling of not being the one in control and relates to ralsei being tired of everyone's shit too so they like. ptsd solidarity (not actually, ptsd is very different but i dont wanna repeat trauma buddies i mean)

i find not-giving a shit ralsei funny for some reason and the concept is interesting in general
