#obviously he’s not around by the original x men movies
If original timeline Peter was an Olympian in track, I’m imagining Erik and Charles as Mr. and Mrs. Incredible at the end of the incredibles cheering on Dash, yelling at him to get second place. So Peter’s in the 100 meter sprint and Erik/Charles are just s c r e e c h i n g “go for second! go for second!!” But he ignores them and gets the gold because he’s an ass 😂

More than anything
Vince Dunn X Fem! Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings- none just fluff, past mentions of Vince being toxic in high school, lmk if you guys want a part two with smut
Summary- in the request :)
Word count- 624
My fingers fidget at my side as I contemplate actually doing it. I’m back in Lindsay, Ontario. It was off season, I knew that. I’m stood in front of Vince Dunns childhood home, the one I knew he stayed in when he wasn’t in his apartment in Seattle. I couldn’t lie, I missed him, his stupid smile, his pretty eyes. It might’ve been an act to just get back in my pants, it’s what he would’ve done in high school. But after the breakup two months ago, I had to see him again.
My shaky hands raise to knock on the door. I curse under my breath as I wait for someone to open the door, he didn’t know I was here. Hell, we hadn’t spoken in about five years, six years after we broke up our senior year. The last we had spoken was us catching up, nothing special. It wasn’t even in person, it was over text.
The door creaked open to reveal Vance. He was older, obviously, I knew he was going to look different. But what I didn’t know was how amazing he’d look. His curls were more defined, so were his cheekbones, and his jaw line. I was surprised he didn’t have a line of girls out his front door.
His eyes lit up at the sight of me. I figure I looked different as well. “Y/n…?” He smiled. God that smile, the smile I remember from every football game, every break in between classes, every hang out sesh after school. “Shit, I’ve missed you! I- I- fuck, come in.” He smiles, standing to the side to let me into the house.
That’s how me and Vince Dunn became friends again. For the first time since high school we actually laughed together, watched movies together, went on walks together. But what I forgot was that he was literally famous. People were taking photos from every corner of every road we walked on. In a week’s time our photos were plastered every where. “Vince Dunns new Girlfriend” “Who is Vince Dunns new girl?” “Vince Dunn spotted with new girl in his home town of Lindsay”.
Me and Vince were tired of it. Originally we planned to spend a day at the beach down at Sturgeon lake. But with all off these creeps taking photos, I didn’t feel like spending a day in public in a bikini knowing old men were probably taking photos. So instead Vince suggested to spend the day at his place in which I happily agreed to. Which leads to now, a pizza box on his coffee table as we’re cuddled up into a shared blanket, watching “The Haunting In Connecticut”. I had to force myself not to joke him at the fact that he remembered our favorite movie to watch together.
Vince’s arm was wrapped around my waist, his thumb rubbing at my side. We spoke about everything and nothing, catching up on our years spent apart. His voice had deepened and his jaw line had sharpened, everything that was new I couldn’t help but notice. It was like he was a new man, like hockey had changed him.
“I’ve missed you so much.” He softly whispers in my ear as he manages to wiggle himself to lay his head on my lap. I smile as my hand falls to his hair, combing my fingers through his curls. “Happy I came back to visit, hm?” I tease and his smile falters. “I’m just fucking with you,” I giggle “if I hadn’t missed you I wouldn’t have came here.” My fingers find their way to almost caress the side of his face. I naw at my bottom lip, staring at him.
“I’ve missed you more than anything.”

。𖦹°‧ pairing 。𖦹°‧ - idol!yeonjun x superstar!oc x idol!jungkook
。𖦹°‧ synopsis 。𖦹°‧ - a love triangle between Hollywood’s sweetheart, Korea’s golden maknae, and Gen Z’s IT boy. Estrella is a very busy woman never had time dating with all her photoshoots, movie offers, recording sessions, dance practices, and public appearances. As she’s doing a little world tour promotions for her latest mini album ‘You & Me’, and let’s just say that stop last a little longer and it becomes a little too interesting.
。𖦹°‧ a/n 。𖦹°‧ - this is an introduction to Estrella and basically a background check of her. The boys have not enter the chat yet, enjoy ૮꒰ྀི๑•‌◡<๑ ིྀ꒱ა
Tumblr media
Estrella was born June 20, 1999 in Hawaii, but after 4 months her parents flew to Los Angeles and decided to live there. Occasionally, sometimes her and her parents would fly back to Hawaii to visit her mother’s side of the family since they originally from Mexico, but immigrated to Hawaii. There is still some family back in Mexico that just decided to stay back and take care of the house that they built long ago. While on her father’s side his dad’s side resigned in Peru where he’s from, and his mom lives in London where she’s from since they both divorced when Estrella’s father was a teenager. The trio also would fly to Peru and London so Estrella would still have a relationship with her grandparents.
Estrella wasn’t born rich her parents ran a restaurant in LA that focused on Mexican/Peruvian/Hawaiian dishes. Luckily, it gain popularity rather quickly because of all the different flavors and beautifully plated dishes plus it wasn’t that expensive so anyone could afford it. Some people even came just to see the chef (Estrella’s dad) because word on the street a new food place opened with amazing food and good looks. It wasn’t just the chef that brought the ladies over the gorgeous waitress/hostess (Estrella’s mom) brought the thirsty men in and made them spent all the big bucks on alcohol and their big dishes. Estrella always thanks her parents for the good genes she was blessed with.
As any kid that has parents that run restaurants they knew that once you get to a certain age which is still fairly young you must help around the restaurant. So at the age of 11 Estrella was taking orders which shocked some customers when they see a kid go up to their table and say, “hi welcome, what can you get you? Or do you want to hear the specials first?”
Working at the restaurant was truly a blessing to Estrella because since the restaurant was located in a busy street in LA many talent agents would come for lunch. Which is how Estrella booked her first modeling job for kids clothing even her parents booked little modeling gigs here and there, but they truly wanted to just focus on their restaurant than taking the entertainment world route. Estrella parents still supported her and they even celebrated in the restaurant, as Estrella got her first acting gig.
At the age of 14 Estrella met Megan Kim, who enter the restaurant after moving to LA from Korea. Estrella was singing while the restaurant was slow and it immediately caught Megan’s attention, “um, excuse me?” Estrella instantly stopped and hummed ‘yes’. “My name is Megan Kim and I’m currently holding auditions for a new artist in my new company I’m trying to build. Here’s the time and place for the auditions.” Megan was a bit too straightforward for Estrella likely, but she didn’t decline the paper flyer.
Her parents were obviously a bit skeptical for obvious reasons, but nevertheless her dad took her to the audition place while her mom held down the restaurant for the day. Estrella was nervous and excited, as they stepped into the small building. The room had about 10 girls with their parents the girls auditioning were all practicing their singing and dancing while their parents watched and encouraged them. “Aren’t you going to practice too?” Her dad questioned, as they took a seat. “I practiced enough already dad.” Estrella shrugged while looking at the girls. “I’m just making sure.” Her dad smiled knowing his daughter was confident.
Some girls left crying yelling, “I messed up! They aren’t going to pick me mom!” Others left with a poker face and a small amount just walked out with a small smile. None of those expressions helped Estrella to determine what’s in store for her during the audition. “Estrella Blue?” A woman finally called. “You got this mi pequeña estrella.” Her dad squeezed her into a hug with placing a kiss on the crown of her head. “Dad, not in front of the lady.” Estrella groaned, feeling embarrassed. The cute interaction made the recruiter giggle at the wholesome scene. “Ok, I’ll stop. You got this and I’ll be right here waiting for the good news.” Her dad gave one last assuringsqueeze on her hand before Estrella followed the lady.
Estrella sang a song she made with her dad called ‘Like That’ and while singing she was dancing to choreo that her and her mom help make. The song had everything Megan and her two recruiter were looking for in picking the girl they wanted. It has vocals, rap, and dance, “I think we have the one.” The female recruiter whispered towards Megan. “No doubt about it.” Megan knew she has star right in front of her.
Megan didn’t wait a second longer and brought Estrella’s dad into the room with them. She expressed how talented Estrella is and wants to sign her to her company, but Estrella would have to go through this trainee process like how they do it in Korea which is completely different on how they do it here. Megan explained her history in the music industry in Korea like how she was a trainee for many years and learned all the ins and outs of the system and how she debuted in a girl group, but soon left because of the bad treatment they were facing from their company. Her goal is to create a music company that isn’t toxic nor harmful mentality and physically to the artists along with creating music to heal the soul.
Estrella’s dad saw how happy her daughter’s face was hearing everything, so he made a deal with Megan with how many hours Estrella was allowed to train and that she wouldn’t be living in the building like how the trainees doing Korea. Megan was more than happy with the agreement and they all immediately started signing the papers.
Estrella stopped working at the restaurant since her new schedule was; waking up, eating a big breakfast made from mom, going to school, going to small building that still didn’t have a name yet, practicing vocals/rap/dance from different teachers that Megan, Sana(recruiter 1), and Daya(recruiter 2) knew. Estrella parents would take turns taking her to and from the company. “She’s working so hard.” Her mom sighed, as she watched her daughter sleep in the back seat. “I know, but this is her dream and look soon she’s going to be a superstar. Our Estrella is going to loved by everyone all over the world.” Her dad smiled at the thought of their daughter getting endless love and support from millions all over the world, including their love for their precious Estrella.
Debut date was rolling closed and closer and just four months prior the announcement of Estrella debut date, the media has been buzzing about the brand new entertainment called, Starlight Entertainment debuting an artist that went through the Kpop trainee system. With the height of BTS who enter the American music industry with their hit ‘DNA’ back in 2017 and continue to get bigger people were interested with what Starlight Entertainment had to bring with this concept of training. Starlight Entertainment did clarify that Estrella was not a Korean artist she is a Latin artist and will not be singing in Korean, at least not yet or whenever she decides to hit that route, but her style of performing is similar like singing and dancing. Along with her albums coming with photocards and different inclusions.
Kpop fans and locals were very interested how it was going to look like with a western artist. Many people started stanning the second the concept of photos were released along with little videos of trainee singing and dancing that went viral with the headline ‘Brand new artist debuting under a new founding company along meeting people’s expectations!’ Another thing that went viral was the new Starlight Entertainment building it’s still pretty small, but since it’s an all girls company that they decided to painting the small building pink, and with the little money the endorsers gave them they were able get a vintage look to the building. Which was aesthetically pleasing to people who would stop and taking photos of it and post how cute it looks.
Some pre debut fans would stop by and see if they can get a glimpse of the new artist, and when they do see Estrella they say that she’s more prettier in person, and about how kind she is already giving them fanservice. In no time Estrella debut happened on May 4, 2020 with a full album called ‘Introducing Estrella’ with the title track ‘Love Bites’. ‘Love Bites’ was a mega hit and climbed the charts, played on radios, people used the audio on TikTok while dancing to the choreo, and Estrella was asked to come on talk shows and radio shows. People fell in love with her kind and bubbly personality along with her undeniably talent, and visuals. Estrella Blue became the superstar her parents and her team always thought she was.

Chapter One: Backup Plan
“If you don’t hear from me, by midnight I need you to open this envelope.” “And if I do hear from you?” “Burn it, like the others.”
Typically, when he left things like that, he did contact her before midnight. It was funny to her that he believed she had no idea what he was doing or where he was going. At first, it hadn’t been so obvious but over time it became clear. Possibly because she was an FBI agent and a profiler. Did he underestimate her ability to figure it out or was he with her because he was very much aware that she knew who he was and what he was doing. The fact that it turned her on even though it shouldn’t and she was just as aware as him that she’d never turn him in. They were in love and had been since well before he’d become the Jigsaw apprentice. Things had only gotten more intense since that point. It was never explicitly stated between them what he was involved in but that didn’t matter. He knew she knew. It was why sometimes when he returned home he still had blood on his clothes, his gloves that gripped her chin so firmly. Forcing eye contact to make sure she knew her place. Sending chills down her spine into her very core, leaving her unable to deny how much she wanted him. He knew that too.
That night, though, it felt different. The way he told her the instructions. Almost as if he knew that something wouldn’t go right. She wished he’d tell her more, or at least let her help. The thing was that not speaking of these things in detail gave her the plausible deniability she would need should he get caught. The first person they would go to was his wife. Much like they had gone after Jill Kramer. The less she knew, the better she’d be able to fake it when they came around to interrogate her. No matter what, she’d never throw him under the bus. It wasn’t that she was blind to what was wrong with the situation but she could see, through his eyes, why he did what he did. As someone who worked in law enforcement herself it was easier to justify handing out such punishments to criminals who had skirted the law and never learned the value of their lives or impact of their behavior.
She couldn’t pretend like there weren’t suspects, perpetrators, and guilty men and women she had to deal with every day who she’d like to see maimed in one of those traps. She’d insinuated as much when she could get away with it. While watching the news, making sure to mention to him that some people just deserved what they got. It was not the correct stance for her to take as an agent of the law but nor was it correct for him as a detective so at least they were on the same page.
As she sat there, the clock ticking down, she realized that he had not contacted her. No text on her phone. The one she had as a burner just for these messages from him. It hadn’t rang either. The midnight hour drew closer, and closer, and when the old clock in their penthouse chimed twelve she knew for the first time she was going to have to open that envelope. It was something that excited her as much as terrified her because she didn’t know what she would find. Obviously, she was the failsafe in all of this and since she was a forensic psychiatrist that also made her a medical doctor. He had her as a life preserver because she could preserve life. She’d treated his wounds before when he couldn’t properly seek care for them lest they raise suspicion with local hospitals as to how he’d gotten them. As an heiress, she had connections and money to buy or find anything he could need to treat and hide the injuries until he was good as new. They were a perfect team because between the two of them they could get rid of anything that they didn’t want seen.
From the hidden safe in the wall she removed the instructions packet and opened it up. There she found only one thing. GPS coordinates. There was no explanation otherwise. Though he was smart enough to know that she would be aware that this place that he wanted her to go to was dangerous. Not that it mattered, since she always carried her weapon with her now thanks to being an FBI agent. She punched the coordinates into the burner phone and came up with a location. A warehouse in the middle of nowhere just about. Outside of New York City where they lived, near some docks in New Jersey right across the bridge. As far as she could tell, the property had been previously owned by John Kramer. Hopefully, she wasn’t walking into a death trap, nor would she arrive to find Mark’s dead and dismembered body somewhere on the premises.

“I may hurt you but I will never harm you, do you understand the difference?” He asked as she sat there, hands cuffed behind her back to the post of the bed that they shared. The concept of the dom/sub relationship was one she knew plenty about academically since she worked in sex crimes but she hadn’t put it into practice herself. They’d discussed it here and there but he knew more than she had. Especially that she was ready to start. “Look at me, Leila.” He put his fingers under her chin to lift her head up, forcing eye contact between them.
“I understand, sir.” She said, “Hurting means pain and temporary suffering but harm would be permanent and detrimental. I trust you not to harm me. I trust you with my life.”
“Are you sure about that?” He asked quickly pulling a knife from his pocket to flick the blade up and brandish it within her line of sight. “It could be a foolish decision if you aren’t absolutely sure of what you are saying.”
“I know what I am saying and I know what I want.” She confirmed. He smirked and licked his lips slowly. Bringing the blade down he started to cut away the buttons of her blouse one by one until it fell open, exposing her bra. Then he brought it back up to cut the bra between the cups, splitting it to reveal her breasts. Her heart fluttered in her chest. The adrenaline rush combined with the arousal and the idea that she was completely helpless to his every whim was overwhelmingly erotic. Slowly, he ran the blade over her right breast to where her heart would be positioning the tip there to press into the skin enough to cause pain but not actually pierce it.
“I could kill you, if I wanted.” He said.
“But that isn’t what you want.” She replied. He smirked, sliding the knife over her skin enough to leave a scratch but not a cut until he got it to her jugular, resting the blade there where she could feel just how sharp it was against the vital area.
“What I want is for you to never know what I may or may not do but trust that ultimately this is a game we play and you will not come out of it harmed. As I said before.” He moved the knife from her neck to her lips, pressing the flat of it there. She looked at him, kissing the metal that she was presented with. He laughed softly and folded the blade into the handle before slipping the knife back into his pocket.
“So you want me to be afraid?”
“In a sense, yes, but I want you to trust me as well. Expect the unexpected.” He smirked and then pulled her into a hungry kiss.
Tumblr media
She took care to be sure that no one had followed her where she was going. It wasn’t typical that anyone would follow her but she knew there were some eyes on Mark so that meant it was possible that people had eyes on her as well. When she pulled up to the place she found that it was indeed a warehouse. Hopefully, it was not one that involved any of John or Mark’s games. Though she could deal with dead bodies, gore, and mutilation since crime scenes were part of her everyday job, she did not want to leave any evidence that she’d been there. If that were the case. From her back pocket she pulled out a pair of gloves and slipped them on before grabbing onto the handle of the sliding door in front of her. Amazingly, it wasn’t locked, but she knew that potentially could mean bad news as well. She only opened it enough to look inside and then enter before shutting it again. The area was dark but not pitch black and in the back she could see a light, kind of in a corner.
Pulling her gun, she headed in that direction as quietly as possible, also making sure she wasn’t accidentally going to touch trip wires or step into a trap. This place had to be rigged with them. That much was obvious. She could see all sorts of things that would constitute as evidence from all of the Jigsaw games. When she got closer to the one light that was on she looked through one of the nearby mirrors to see if she could spot anyone in the room as she paused and held her breath. There was a groan and she turned her head towards it. In the corner she saw Mark holding a blood soaked wad of fabric tightly to his face. Holstering her gun, she hurried towards him and got down by his side.
“Mark, what the hell happened?” She asked. He looked at her, his eyes kind of glossy. There was no way he hadn’t lost a lot of blood but he was still conscious so that was good news in itself. Slowly, he pulled the fabric away from his face to show her that half of his cheek was split open. “Shit. We need to fix this.” He nodded, it was clear why he hadn’t called out to her when she’d arrived she doubted he could do much but groan and scream in that condition. She hurried to look through the warehouse to find something that could stitch his face up. The sooner the better. If he showed up at a hospital like that then he’d be caught immediately. There weren’t any real medical supplies in there, not any that would help with this specific injury but she did manage to find fishing wire and a hook. She could close up the wound and worried about infection later. It wasn’t like it would be hard to get antibiotics. Bringing the supplies over to him she got down and threaded the line through the hook.
“This is going to hurt a lot, but it will save your life. I can get you antibiotics after if you need them.” She said as she reached to pull his hand away from his face again. He let out a small groan and almost the moment she touched the hook to his skin he yanked away. “Mark, this has to be done now and…what happened to your hand?” She had only just noticed that it was broken, she could see bone.
“I can do it.” He said, or more accurately she was sure that’s what he meant to say with a huge flesh wound in the side of his face. If he had survived this far he probably could stitch up his own face, she didn’t doubt that.
“It will be faster if-”
“I’ll do it.” He snatched the hook away from her and very carefully got to his feet. She sighed, knowing there was no way to stop him from doing something he was determined to do himself. He hobbled over to the mirror she had been looking into before and pulled the lamp closer to it. Then he took in a deep breath and started to stitch up the wound in his face.
Tumblr media
“Do you have any idea what I’m going to do to you now?” He asked. This was after she’d been blindfolded in such a way that she couldn’t see anything. Usually, when people messed around with blindfolds there was a lot of room for error. Letting light in or the ability to look down and see shadows. She wasn’t surprised that he knew what he was doing when it came to this sort of thing. “Answer me.”
“Anything you want.” She replied, “Master.”
“That’s a good girl.” He chuckled darkly and patted her on the cheek. She sensed movement around her, first on the bed shifting and then some kind of fabric around her neck. It wasn’t rope, it was something else. Perhaps one of his ties. The weight of the bed shifted again and she was still left sitting there with her arms handcuffed behind one of the posts. There was a pause and she heard a click then felt the cuffs release. There was no moment to recover from this as she was immediately yanked down and out of the bed by the tie around her neck. She yelped as she fell to the floor, with hardly any time to brace for impact. Somehow, she did manage to catch herself but just barely. “Quick thinking, I like that.”
“Thank you, sir.” She replied. The makeshift leash was tugged on again forcing her to crawl forward a bit then another sharp tug indicated that she needed to stop. She could hear him as he walked around behind her then felt his hands on her hips as he shoved her skirt up to reveal her panties. There was the swish of the blade from the knife popping up and the sensation of cold metal against her inner thighs. She gasped, shivered, and groaned softly as he started to cut the fabric of them away.
“My pleasure is your pleasure, your pain is my pleasure, anything I want is for me. Anything you are rewarded with, is just that. You have to earn things here, understood?” He asked then without much warning gave her a rough slap across the ass. She squealed and then nodded her head.
“Yes, sir.”
“You’re a faster learner. I wonder what else I can teach you.” He said, sounding very amused as she felt his fingers between her legs moving over the wet folds of her cunt. She groaned, knowing she was far more aroused than she should have been given the situation. He continued to tease her perfectly, as if he were playing an instrument that he was a master of. Working her closer and closer to climax before pulling his hand back to give her ass another slap. This was done in such an oddly timed way that she could never predict it and threatened to drive her insane. She didn’t know how long he had kept it up before she lost enough control to scream.
“Please!” She yelled, “Sir…please…”
“Do you even know what you are begging for?” He asked, “Fucking tell me what you want, Princess.” She whined and lowered her head, it was humiliating and so very fucking hot to hear him speak to her like that. She licked her lips slowly and took in a deep breath through her nose, letting it out through her mouth.
“Your cock, sir.”
“And what do you want me to do with it?”
“I…I want you to fuck me with it.”
“Why?”
“For your pleasure, I…I’m your naughty little fuck toy and I’m only here to serve you.” She breathed, her heart pounding in her chest.
“That’s what I like to hear.” He chuckled and gave her ass another slap. From behind her, she sensed more movement until she could feel the tip of his cock rubbing against her cunt, teasing and touching in all the right places. As she was about to yell out again for him to just hurry up he thrust into her and she moaned loudly. She’d have collapsed forward except for the fact that he had grabbed the tie around her neck and yanked back, keeping her upright lest she wanted to choke. From there he started to pound into her with reckless abandon. Every so often the fabric around her neck would restrict her airflow then release again. When she could draw breath all she could do was let it out as a moan. He’d never been so primal and dominant with her before, they’d dabbled in it sure but it hadn’t gotten this far. She knew she was already addicted to this and would never want it any other way. “Are you going to cum for me? Huh? You naughty little girl…”
“Y-Yes…Yes, sir…” She panted, when he allowed her the air to do so.
“Go on then, cum all over my cock.” He growled. She moaned again, her eyes rolling back in pleasure as his words triggered her climax. He moaned then as well, almost louder than her. The walls seemed to shake with the passion of it and she could nearly feel it vibrating through her as she hit her second climax then a third. Suddenly, the leash around her neck was released. She fell forward, unable to keep her weight up any longer. Then he was on top of her, pulling her close to him as he moved them both onto their side. She could do nothing but lay there basking in the afterglow of her orgasm feeling the rapid beat of his heart against her back. She silently hoped she’d never have to face a moment where such a motion ceased to exist when his blood would eventually run cold.
Tumblr media
“You did a good job.” She said, once he was finished working on his face. It was quite impressive actually. Using just that dirty old mirror and some fishing line. She didn’t think she could have done it to herself even if it also meant the choice between life or death. “I have a first aid kit in my car. I can use that to see what I can do about your hand.”
“Be quick,” He said, “I don’t suppose you brought any painkillers with you.”
“Nothing heavier than tylenol but you know we are well stocked at home.” She stroked the side of his face that wasn’t injured and stood up. “Why did you need me to come here, this does seem like something you could have handled on your own.”
“I could have.” He said, reaching out to take her hand with his good one. He gave it a squeeze, “But that had nothing to do with it.”
“Then what else could it be?”
“Things didn’t go exactly according to plan and I’m going to need your help.” He replied, “Get the first aid kit. I'll explain more when you get back.” She nodded, knowing that his immediate care took priority over something he could explain after. If he seemed to think there was time to sit and talk she wasn’t worried about that before making sure he was stable and in as good of health as he possibly could be. As she exited the warehouse again, to get to her car, the gravity of the situation hit her. She had to pause for a moment, catch her breath, and try to stifle the tears that were threatening to fall. In all of this time, though she’d seen him injured, she had never seen him come as close to death as that. She’d also never in her wildest dreams expected for him to say anything about his plans not going as he’d devised them. How bad was it that he wanted her involved? She didn’t know. What she did know was that if someone had done this to him with the intent to end his life, she wanted revenge. Possibly even more than he believed he did at that moment.

The baggie had fallen out of Indi’s bag by accident, no bigger than a cotton ball. Joel had taken her backpack after picking her up from class one evening. He’d tossed it in the backseat of his truck without much thought. One of the front pockets must have been open because he heard the clatter of pens and other items hit the seat.
“Ah, fuck,” he muttered under his breath, leaning over to gather her stuff while she connected her phone to the car’s bluetooth.
“Everything okay, babe?” she asked, scrolling through her Spotify, after hearing him huff from behind her headrest.
“All good, baby girl,” he said, stuffing the few pens and bobby pins back in the pocket.
The plastic baggie reflected off the light, the familiar green buds inside peaking his curiosity. She had never mentioned that she smoked before. Tapping her on her shoulder from the back seat, Joel held the baggie in his open palm to her.
“What’s this doin’ in here?” he asked with a smirk, amused and a little surprised with her.
“Oh,” she murmured, her eyes going wide as she visibly tensed under his gaze.
“Not so innocent, huh, darlin’?” he continued to tease her, pulling out one of the larger buds and sniffing it, his face crinkling slightly at the smell, “This shit gettin’ you high?” he questioned in disbelief.
“Well until Texas gets their shit together, it’s the best I can do,” she said defensively, reaching to grab the baggie from him.
“No, baby girl,” Joel chuckled with a shake of his head, “This is dirt weed, I can tell just by lookin’ at it. I’ve seen high schoolers deal better shit than this.”
“I’m sorry, since when were you a marijuana connoisseur?” she sassed him while attempting a second time to grab the contents from his hand.
He smirked, always getting a little turned on when she got fiery with him. It wasn’t often in their short relationship, but the few times she did get feisty, the urge to pin her down and fuck the attitude out of her flooded his thoughts. When that day came where he could indulge in this primal desire, he knew he would thoroughly enjoy earning her submission.
“Been smokin’ since before you were born, baby,” he scoffed, crumpling the baggie in his large hand and tossing it out of the car.
“What the hell, Joel?” she scoffed, her mouth open slightly as she stared at him, shocked and obviously a little annoyed.
“I can’t keep lettin’ you smoke that trash, darlin’,” he insisted, finally getting out of the backseat, coming around to the other side to get behind the wheel, “I’ve got some good shit back home, we could order pizza if you get hungry and put on a movie, hm?” he suggested.
“Home?” she repeated, sounding confused. “You mean your place?” she clarified.
He nodded, starting the truck and pulling out of the campus parking lot. “That a problem?” he asked, seeing how she hadn’t answered, a little concerned by her hesitation.
“I’ve never been to your house…” she stated softly.
When he thought about it, she was right. They always went out somewhere or to her apartment. Joel liked her place, it was comfortable, homy, very much her and he loved being surrounded by it all. Sure, he probably should have brought her over to his place a long time ago, given the amount of time they’ve spent together, but part of him didn’t want to bring her too close to his world. His men had access to his house, he kept security posted at the gate, and sometimes even handled business in the basement.
“I don’t spend much time there either, the guys always makin’ too much damn noise,” he said, trying to be casual about the whole thing, but his voice sounded a little strained and anxious.
“The guys that work for you?” she questioned, receiving a nod from him as he turned onto the highway, “They hang out at your place a lot?”
“Uh,” he hesitated, biting in the inside of his cheek, “Yeah, they’re in and out, the only reason I got somethin’ a lil’ bigger is for when the jobs are long and they need somewhere to crash,” he explained with a shrug.
“I thought you built storage units or something?”
He cleared his throat awkwardly, gripping the steering wheel a little tighter. “Among other things, yeah…”
“I think that’s great,” she said, reaching across to squeeze his thigh affectionately, “Not many bosses care about their employees enough to open their own doors to them.”
Again, he cleared his throat, feeling his whole body warming up as he dug himself deeper into a hole he’d eventually have to fill. He didn’t like lying to her, but he also wasn’t ready to tell her the extent of his business, hoping to keep her in this little bubble of happiness with him for a little longer.
Taking her hand, he brought it up to lips, kissing her knuckles softly as he inhaled her familiar scent. She didn’t ask him anymore about the house, thankfully. They drive in a comfortable silence, the lull of her music providing a relaxing background noise. Eventually, Joel pulled up to the familiar iron gates, rolling down his window.
“Evenin’, boss man,” one of the men at the gate greeted them as he approached the driver's side window.
“John,” Joel greeted with a stiff nod, thankful that John kept his weapon tucked in his belt, hidden by his jacket, “Anyone inside right now?” he asked, praying to whatever higher being out there that his house was empty tonight.
“Yeah, Tess and Xavier showed up a couple hours ago, been working in the office,” he shrugged.
Joel internally swore. “Alright, take it easy, man,” he said, his jaw clenched as the gates opened and he proceeded up the long driveway to his home.
“You have security?” Indi questioned, looking simultaneously impressed and surprised.
He gave a simple “mhm” in response, still trying to figure out how to avoid Tess if necessary. She wouldn’t say anything, but who knows what kind of crap her and X left laying around.
“This is your house?” she gasped, staring in awe as the white three story, 7,898 square foot building came into view, “Joel, we’ve been watching movies on my shitty fifty inch when you have all this!”
He chuckled at that. “Projector in the theater room’s broken, plus I like being at your place more,” he explained.
She didn’t need to know that the projector had to be replaced because one of his guys put a bullet in the screen after the last UFC fight.
“It’s so…quiet,” she observed once he’d parked at the front door, not bothering to park his truck in the garage, “I love all the nature,” she added as he helped her out, going to grab her backpack as she approached the front door, still looking at the thicket of trees surrounding the house.
He’d just shut the back door of his truck when he heard the front door open. Indi stepped back as a woman stepped out, a gun in one hand and a manilla folder in the other.
“Who the hell are you?” she demanded, a hard stare focussed on Indi.
“Easy, Tess, she’s with me,” Joel said, taking the stairs two at a time to stand between Tess and his girl.
Ignoring him, the redhead continued to openly scrutinize Indi with her cold glare and lips set in a thin line. Joel took a step forward, sending Tess a warning look as he cleared his throat. He felt Indi grip the sleeve of his jacket from behind him, triggering that primal urge to protect.
“Whatever,” Tess finally muttered with a roll of her eyes, “I’m heading to Laredo to clean up Eric’s mess,” she added, moving around them to the all black Sedan that pulled up beside Joel’s truck during the confrontation.
“Keep me updated,” Joel called after her with a shake of his head.
Once they were gone, Joel pressed his palm in the curve of Indi’s back, gently guiding her inside. She didn’t say anything about Tess, too distracted by the glamor of the foyer flanked by two curving staircases and the giant crystal chandelier above them.
“You must be a really good contractor,” she commented, making him laugh as they made their way to the kitchen.
“Suppose so,” he said with a chuckle, guiding her to sit at the kitchen island, setting her backpack on the counter next to her, “Want something to drink? Hungry?” he asked, going to the fridge and pulling out two beers.
She accepted his offer, taking the opened bottle in one hand and Joel’s in the other as he led her through the house to the second floor where his office was located. She marveled at the luxury of everything, her head on a constant swivel as she tried to take it all in. Joel intentionally walked a little slower through the halls, indulging her in her curiosity by pointing out certain rooms.
“So…does Tess work for you?” she asked, settling into the leather couch in his office as he rummaged around his desk for his stash.
“Uh, yeah, she’s, um…oversees supplies and stuff,” he said, pulling out a wooden box and setting it on the large desk.
“Is she always…like that?”
He tried to hold back his laugh, but failed miserably. “Yeah, she’s usually like that, not great at parties, but keeps these boys in line.”
Joel gathered what he needed, setting the box back in its original place before leading her outside to the second-story covered patio at the back of the house. The lights around the pool and jacuzzi were on below them, the trickling of the faux waterfall lining the jacuzzi provided a comfortable background noise.
“This is beautiful, Joel,” she murmured as they sat on a swinging bench, facing the backyard which consisted of an epic view of the greenbelt and the lake nearby, a few houses breaking the treeline around his property.
“Yeah, probably one of my favorite parts of the house, this view,” he agreed, pulling out a five inch glass pipe and a grinder.
She watched as he loaded the pipe, the smell of this strain much stronger than her own as he packed the bowl with precision. Pulling a lighter from his jean pocket, he offered both items to her. With a shy smile, she accepted it, setting her beer down and bringing the pipe to her lips. Joel was drawn to how her lips curved around the glass, shifting in his seat as he thought about what her lips would look like wrapped around his cock.
“Fucking hell,” Indi said, coughing harshly after her first hit, reaching for her beer to ease the burn.
She handed the pipe and lighter back, downing half her bottle as she tried to control her coughing fit. Joel couldn’t help but smirk, smoothly taking a hit himself, blowing the smoke away from her.
Once she had regained her composure, she settled comfortably beside him, curling up under his arm, leaning into the side of his body as they passed the pipe back and forth. She started to giggle halfway through their second round, her hands starting to wander as Joel emptied the ashes from the bowl.
“Whatcha doin’ there, baby girl?” he asked with a smirk, leaving the pipe next to his beer as he watched her fingers inch higher up his leg.
“Just want to feel you,” she murmured, nuzzling her face into his neck, “that is some really, really, good shit Joel,” she added, her eyelids drooped slightly as she looked up at him.
“Feelin’ good, darlin’?” he asked, his own body much more relaxed and itching to touch her.
“Very good,” she agreed, closing her eyes slowly as he laced his fingers into her hair, gripping the back of her neck and pulling her closer for a slow kiss.
While Joel usually set the pace, she must have been feeling brave because she easily climbed into his lap, unprompted, her legs settling on either side of his hips as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeper, hungrier.
“Fuck, baby girl,” he groaned as she began to grind into his lap, slow movements that had him hard almost instantly.
“Have I ever told you that smoking makes me really horny sometimes?” she asked, her voice a little husky, a little breathless as she nipped his earlobe.
“No, b-but- fuck- I’ll keep that in mind,” he said as she kissed on his neck, her hands moving up and down along his chest.
All Joel could do was hold onto her, let her work herself up on him as he enjoyed her little show. He held her hips tightly, his fingers slipping under the hem of her top to graze the skin of her sides, reveling in how soft and small she felt against him.
She brought her mouth to his again, his head tilted back as he took in the red tint of her half-lidded eyes, the lazy smile and mussed hair from his earlier grip on her radiating temptation. She was a goddess, absolutely ethereal on top of him. When she began to suck and nip on his lower lip, he almost lost it, groaning heavily and pulling her tighter against him.
He lifted her up with ease, never breaking away from her sweet kiss. She gripped his shoulders, giggling against his mouth as he laid her out on the swinging bench, keeping it still with one foot placed on the ground, using his other leg to kneel and balance between her knees.
Caging her in with his body, he leaned over her, feeling her chest against his own, one of her legs raising to hook on his hip, her heat pressed dangerously close to his growing erection. She was making these pretty noises as he tasted her skin, nipped at her ear, and squeezed her sides.
“Joel,” she whined, “please.”
“I got you, baby girl,” he muttered into the crook of her neck, “I’ll take care of you,” he groaned, feeling her nails dig into his forearm.
He was able to inch her top a little further up, exposing her torso to him. Repositioning himself lower on her body, he kissed at the exposed skin, pushing the material further up as he traced patterns with his tongue up her stomach and between her breasts.
“Can I take this off, darlin’?” he murmured against her ribcage, looking up through his lashes to see her watching him as she bit her lower lip, suppressing as much noise as she could when she nodded in agreement.
“Need to hear it, baby girl, use your words,” he insisted, running his rough hands down her sides, gripping her hips and pulling her tighter against his covered cock.
“Yes,” she sighed, sounding absolutely wrecked already, “Yes, Joel, please,” she begged, blindly grabbing at his shirt to try and pull him to her.
“That’s a good girl,” he praised her softly, feeling her thighs clench at the term, filing away that little reaction in his brain for later.
She sat up slightly, just enough for him to lift her top over her head and drop it on the ground. He was instantly mouthing at her covered breasts, pushing one shoulder strap down to taste her skin, his other hand squeezing and kneading the other cup.
“D-do you want to show me, hmph, your bedroom?” she asked, breathless and needy under him.
“Anything you want, sugar,” he agreed, easily lifting her up into his arms and carrying her back into the house.
They slowly made their way through the hallways, Joel pressing her into every flat surface he could find to rut against her, kiss her senseless and feel any part of her body he could as he navigated the dimly lit hallways.
Once inside his room, he deposited her on the bed, immediately pulling his jacket and shirt off, throwing it on the ground with enough force for a low “thump” to echo in the room. Indi looked up at him, propped up on her elbows, biting her lip.
“Fuck, baby, you look so good right now,” he groaned, quickly working at his belt buckle and zipper, taking his gun from the back of his pants and setting it on the bedside table.
“Let me,” she insisted, getting on her knees and reaching over to him, her smaller hands slowly pulling his zipper down, her fingers grazing his cock in the process, earning another deep groan from him. She tried to use her mouth on him, but he had other plans.
He had her pinned down the bed in seconds, slipping her jeans off, before rutting against her panties with his pants halfway down his legs, too worked up to bother getting them off all the way right now. She made such pretty noises for him, her hands wandering his exposed chest and arms as he removed the last of her clothes.
“You’re fuckin’ soaked for me already,” he growled, his fingers rubbing tight circles on her clit.
“Yes, fuck, ‘s so good,” she moaned, her hand gripping his wrist tightly as she tried to move her hips.
“Yeah, just like that, darlin’, so fuckin’ pretty,” he groaned, slipping a finger into her while rubbing at her sex faster, his mouth attaching to her nipple, leaving her a moaning mess.
Joel added another finger, kissing her hungrily as she moaned into his mouth at the stretch. His other hand was holding her leg down by her thigh, keeping her spread for him to play with.
“Oh! Just like that, fuck, so good, baby,” she whined, head thrown back as she rutted up into his hand wildly.
He couldn’t help the groan that rumbled in his chest. His cock twitched at the term, something about the sweetness of it mixed with the filthy things he was doing with her body was a delicious concoction that had him drunk on her.
“Gonna come for me, baby girl? Can feel you squeezin’ m’ fingers,” he growled against her neck, biting down on the curve connecting her neck and shoulder, sucking a mark over the indent his teeth left.
She cried out his name when she came, her body convulsing beautifully under him. Working her through it, he slowed his movements until she went quiet and then brought his fingers to his lips, holding her titillating gaze as he sucked the essence from his fingers slowly. She bit her lip, reaching out to him. Taking her hand, he brought it to his shoulder, fully kneeling on the bed now and tossing her a little higher up until her head hit the pillows.
He climbed over her, pushing her thighs further apart, feeling her preen as he kissed up her body from her core, over her breasts and along her neck. The look in her eyes was absolutely salacious as she pushed herself up to meet his mouth, licking any remnants of herself from his lips lewdly. Joel moaned against her mouth, feeling her much smaller hand stroke his throbbing cock.
“You’re so big,” she panted against his mouth, still recovering from her first orgasm.
“Just relax, baby girl,” he said soothingly, easing her to lay back down.
With one hand over the edge of the pillow beside her head to hold himself up, Joel guided the head of his cock through her folds, grunting when it caught at her entrance. He teased her for a moment, rubbing at her clit and through her folds until she was wiggling her hips shamelessly in an attempt to get him inside.
“Stay still, sweetheart, I got you,” he groaned, finally giving in to what they both wanted.
He eased himself in slowly, resisting the urge to spear her and fuck her savagley, to ride on the primal high that their relationship had been building low in his stomach. Perhaps another night.
“More…please,” she whined, gripping his shoulder as she tried to pull him closer, her voice quivering as she was overwhelmed by everything that was Joel.
“Look at you, baby girl, usin’ your manners,” he teased through his lusty haze, smirking down as he inched a little deeper, “That’s a good girl…” he groaned once he was fully inside, dropping onto his forearms to rut into her, feeling her whole body pressed under him, her nipples taught against his chest, “...my good girl,” he added, almost like he was talking to himself as he closed his eyes and lost himself in everything that was her.
He fisted the sheets, his pace building as his pleasure rose. Fuck, those sounds she made would be the death of him. She was squeezing him so tight too, he didn’t know how long he’d actually last. Plus the effects of their earlier smoke session made everything feel heightened. Her nails dug into his back as he thrusted harder, the slight sting mixed with how good she felt clenching on his dick was an addicted combination he’d come to learn.
“Fuckin’ hell, baby, feel so good, so damn perfect,” he grunted against her neck, knowing he was absolutely done for when it came to this girl.
“I’m so close, Joel, yeah, yeah, like that,” she panted, bringing his mouth to hers for a wet, messy kiss, her eyes squeezed shut blissfully.
Something cold against his knuckle briefly distracted him. With his mouth still against hers, his eyes drifted to the side of her, noticing the butt of a gun poking out from under his pillow. Shit. He jerked back slightly, making a move to grab the pistol. She noticed his sudden change, opening her eyes slightly to look up at him, trying to follow his gaze directed to the side of her. He panicked momentarily.
“Look at me, baby girl,” Joel said quickly, pushing himself up on his knees so he could use his free hand to collar her throat and keep her head forward, “Look at me while I fuck you,” he added, noticing how she clenched around his cock at his words.
When that small wicked smile graced her lips as he squeezed the sides of her throat, he almost lost it. Tucking the gun back under the pillow as subtly as possible, he used his hold on her throat to lift her up and turn their bodies diagonal to the bed, gripping the edge for leverage as he continued to thrust into her.
She came hard on his cock, her walls pulsing around him, as she moaned his name, spurring on his own release which he shot all across her chest and stomach with a deep whine. They were both breathing heavily, their bodies coated in sweat and each other’s release. Joel could feel her juices along his thighs, a sense of pride and satisfaction sprouting in his chest as he caught his breath.
Indi smiled softly, her mind completely blank as she floated in this post-sex haze, her body tingling, exhausted and thoroughly satisfied. Joel laid next to her on his side, pulling her against his sticky body, propping her head up with his forearm. She sighed happily as he brushed some hair from her face, leaning down to kiss her softly.
“Did so good for me, baby girl,” he murmured against her lips, stroking her cheek with equal softness.
After they had recovered, Joel invited her to shower with him. He took her hand, leading her into the en suite bathroom, just as luxurious as the rest of his house with a steam shower, full-size tub, dual vanity and private commode room.
Joel started the shower, testing the water before guiding her in. When he didn’t immediately follow after her, she turned around, reaching for him. She was feeling especially needy after he’d just fucked her stupid, her mind still floating in a slight orgasmic haze as the high from the cannabis slowly began to fade.
“Just gettin’ you somethin’ to wear, baby girl, I’ll be right back,” he said, pulling her towards him for a short kiss before leaving her alone under the hot stream.
She didn’t think much of it when Joel stepped back into the bedroom. He came back almost immediately, crossing the room to reveal a walk-in closet. Setting some clothes out for both of them, he returned to his girl, biting back an appreciative growl as he watched droplets of water stream down her naked body.
“Get my back?” she asked sweetly over her shoulder, offering him his body wash and one of the washcloths she’d taken from the shelf next to the shower.
He took his time washing her, feeling every dip and curve of her body as she stood still and allowed him to explore. By the time he was done, he was already hard again. She smirked, noticing his stiff cock when she turned around. He didn’t intend on pushing her for more, figuring she must be tired after everything.
He didn’t resist though when she pushed him back against the wall, out of the stream, and got on her knees. He definitely didn’t resist when she took him in her mouth, working his length with her hand as she sucked him off. Of course he didn’t last long, the combination of how fucking gorgeous she looked, naked, wet, and mouth full of his cock mixed with how good her little mouth was working him had him coming embarrassingly fast. She didn’t seem to mind though, looking almost pleased as she pulled him back under the stream to wash his body.
They both passed out in bed after sharing another bowl on Joel’s balcony. She was beautiful under the low light, hair wet, wearing one of his shirts and her panties. He couldn’t remember the last time he fell asleep so easily, with her tucked into his side, her head on his chest and arm secured tightly across his stomach.
Of course, the peaceful sleep couldn’t last long. He jerked awake to the sound of his phone vibrating on the table next to him. He reached over, making sure not to jostle his girl who was still curled up on his chest. Glaring blearily at the bright screen, he saw that it was just past three in the morning.
“This better be fuckin’ good,” he grumbled into the receiver to whichever one of his guys decided to wake him up.
“Uh, Joel, we got a problem, man,” Ethan, one of his runners, said frantically.
He could tell he was driving by the sound of tires over gravel in the background. There were other voices too, just as frantic, mixed with a few grunts and groans of pain.
“What problem?” Joel demanded, his voice hard as he prepared for bad news.
“Uh, we got jumped after checking one of the safe houses,” Ethan said, a car horn screeching past somewhere in the background.
“Where the fuck are you?” Joel asked, speaking louder than he intended, glancing down at Indi to make sure she didn’t wake up.
“Pullin’ up right now to your place, ah shit, get him inside!” Ethan said, talking to whoever else was with him.
“Ethan!” Joel snapped, flinching again at the volume of his voice, “Ethan, you better tell me what the fuck is going on,” he threatened softly, even his whisper sounding dangerous over the line.
“G-get ‘im on the pool table, fuck, I don’t know man!” Ethan said, his voice sounding distant like he had the phone at his side.
Joel could hear the commotion downstairs, boots moving across the floor, chairs scraping, doors slamming. He hung up, throwing his phone on the ground in frustration before easing out of Indi’s grasp. He really didn’t want to leave her, especially to clean up some stupid mess, but he also couldn’t have those idiots downstairs making all this noise and potentially waking her up to who knows what.
With a frustrated huff, he pulled his sweatpants and a t-shirt, making his way downstairs with his 9mm loaded and ready. She hadn’t woken up yet, simply turning over in her sleep to the other side.
“Joel!” Ethan called, rushing up to him, blocking him from entering the game room.
“What the fuck, man? Who’s blood is all over my goddamn floor?” Joel snapped, looking across the marble floor and the streaks of red.
“Joel, relax, man, uh…we- we-,” Ethan stammered, only frustrating him more.
He pushed past the smaller man, going over to the group surrounding his pool table, noticing how the splatters of blood became larger. The men glanced at him nervously, at least the ones who weren’t frantically moving over whoever was on the blue felt.
“Hey, big brother, sorry ‘bout the mess,” Tommy said, looking pale and shaky as he tried to smile at Joel from where he was laid out.
“T-Tommy…?”

descendants rant
Ok idk how to do this so ill just start with myself (or better my parent)
Bcs we all know im a whore for op characters and I really didn’t wanna go basic and just be mals sister or smth I decided to put wanda aka scarlet witch into this universe (basically after the whole no more mutants thing she was banned into the universe by dr strange and professor x or smth yk idk and she tried to get back and that caused some trouble so she was put on the isle of the lost) haha my dad is hades btw but I don’t know it, my mum doesn’t know him either it was more of a ons gone wrong situation
Nowww some stuff about me, my name is scarlet pietra maximoff (yes after Pietro) and im 16 in the first movie. I basically have my mums powers but cant use them on the isle obviously soo idk that I have them until i get to auradon. Also wanda is more like her comic version but since idk the comic events bcs I haven’t read them there are probably inaccuracies lmao. I speak sokovian and exclusively sokovian with my mum and its my first language but English with everyone else. I have red hair in the first movie (but like scarlet red not ginger) and then in the 2nd at the start I have dark auburn / brown hair and in the third I have like dark red hair with like black roots? Idk how to describe it. In the first and 2nd movie I have like red eyes (not in a creepy way) and in the 3rd I get blue eyes, ill say why later.  My main color is red yk scarlet witch and shit and idk what else to say haha but feel free to ask questions
My s/o is ben aka beasty boy (fr I started calling him that before I found out uma calls him that soo yeah I thought I was onto smth only to find out im not the first one who came up with that) and hes the same basically except he also speaks French (I love french speaking men and beauty and the beast takes part in France originally so sue me) idk the timeline is pretty much the same as in the movies except the whole breakup thing at the start of the 2nd movie doesn’t happen
Plot of movie 1: I go with all the other vks (its just 4 but ok) to auradon but except like 1 month to the coronation like in the movies it’s for the whole school year (idk when the coronation was but id say like June or smth) soo from august on. Since my mum is kinda yk abandoning me and being a shit parent bcs shes still grieving and some shit I basically was always around the other 4. Then once there everything kinda plays out like it does in the original movie except for my powers embarrassing me around ben haha idk I think its funny to have my powers go cray cray when im around him (also we dream of each other before we meet bcs *soulmates* but like without seeing faces and stuff). Then mal comes up with the whole love spell thing but it’s a bit different, it only works if the person casting the spell loves the person theyre casting it on (idk I needed an excuse for why mal would let me cast the spell) soo yeah I do the spell and then I basically take mals place for a bit. The whole parent day thing comes up (in the zoom thing they do with the villains my mum doesn’t show up tho) and audreys grandma still grabs mal and stuff and my powers kinda work subconsciously and yk pull them apart and make chad fall into the sleep thing so then everyone hates us (especially me) again and I feel terrible. Coronation day, same thing, love spell gets dissolved bla bla bla. Jane takes the wand, I take the wand from jane, maleficent comes and I give the wand to mal and mal gives it to the fairy godmother, maleficent freezes everyone. Now it strays from the movie basically mal fails to turn maleficent into a lizard like in the movies and she gets also like frozen then I come in and save the day and then fall into like a small coma bcs my powers feed on my life force / energy yk and that was too much. But then I wake up again.
Movie 2: beginning is the same except I replace mal as yk future queen but mal still feels overwhelmed and misunderstood and runs away after the picnic scene (its me and her in the scene, I replace ben in that one). Basically i find out and tell evie and she tells ben and they convince me to stay put while they go get mal bcs yk the coronation thing was scary and im not the most popular over there atm. Ben gets captured, the boys get me to make the wand bcs printing it takes too long, we go back to the isle and we save ben. I use my powers but not that much yk just I know my boundaries. Fast forward to cotillion, uma still spells ben, she turns into a sea monster and I start idk fighting her but since I used so much of my powers the day before already to make the wand and in the fight so yk im nearing the edge of too much. Mal turns into a dragon, ben jumps into the water, does a less y/n pick me version of his speech, uma goes, mal turns back but doesn’t have the big purple dress moment, just a small purple dress moment (like not the big ass gown but more of a cocktail party dress) bcs theres no way shell steal my moment haha
Movie 3: same thing the whole time basically except that when Audrey shows up and spells ben, I go after him immediately and the boys find me while they search for ben in the woods. Mal still gets hades ember (and finds out im her sister during it) and also still promises uma that she’ll free the villains but since shes not the future queen in my dr she doesn’t have jurisdiction to push that through and when I tell that to mal and uma and that I cant just do that uma gets angry and leaves like in the movie. Also since imo the whole ‘we’re not evil anymore and all are happy to go to auradon’ plot doesn’t happen in my dr bcs its stupid haha. In the end I fight with Audrey and get my wandavision scarlet witch transformation moment and yk basically shes agatha and im wanda (she not only took maleficents wand and the crown in my dr but also the darkhold which is still like a dark magic book but without the corruption part, its kinda like the ring from lotr, it corrupts everyone except the owner yk so I don’t get corrupted if I use it but Audrey does) and I absorb hades ember during that thing (Audrey is holding it) which gives me *drum roll* blue eyes. In the end the exchange program will be continued but yk not the barrier lifted bcs the villains are still villains and wanna get revenge (I believe in character development but that whole plot was just stupid af on Disney part sorry not sorry).
some random shit:
i do cheer in auradon in the 2nd movie
i have a friend from my cr i scripted in whos the kid of sisu from raya and the last dragon
my mum and i live in a little cabin on the isle (kinda like the one at the end of wv)
i write music (i have a playlist with songs ive written in my dr if anyone is interested)
i cant swim based just entirely on the fact that the enchanted lake scene in movie 1 can still happen lmao
soo thats it feel free to ask questions (really ask questions, i want questions doesnt matter if ive already answered it or you think its stupid) it got a teeny tiny bit long but who cares lmao

I have been a part of MCU fandom since it started in 2008, watched comic book movies way before it (X-Men were kind of a thing), Keaton´s Batman is still my Batman (I know, DC, I had no idea in the early 90s there was such a thing :D ).
But I don´t remember it ever being so toxic as it is lately. Admittedly, I kind of started to "fan" Tom himself more past few years, I still love RDJ and all the original guys from Phase 1 but my God, people went insane with social media.
And what is going on in Loki fandom? Or around Tom personally? Like people don´t believe he is in a relationship, and I only wait for first crazy to say "It is not his baby!" like they keep doing with poor Benedict. So he found himself a partner, good for him and he is obviously happy!
I loved all the red carpet content we got, I love that he is *finally* getting out of his shell after years of random appearances (granted, we were robbed for red carpets for Loki, first because of Covid and second because of strikes) and The Essex Serpent had some but most interviews were done by video (still not enough of them). So he is going to conventions, which is a fantastic thing. He meets fans, he loves meeting fans and it is great that we are not just waiting for Bobby/baby walk pictures. He can do whatever the hell he wants. And getting paid for it? He is a performer and is paid to perform. It is simple as that.
He just wrapped a movie in October and had a highly successful show in November. And he is still praised for it, may get some more nominations, will campaign for Emmy. Yes, he can do other stuff and he does but it takes time to make something and get things into productions is not easy. He obviously loves Loki and what actor can say they still can work with a character this long and still find something new? He basically created the character on screen and now will be forever remembered and anybody coming after him will be compared to Tom. That is no small achievement.
When it happened that "fans" think they know what is the best for a person they don´t even know in person? Give the guy a break.
And don´t get me started with those crazy "shipping wars", which is something I had now idea existed before (yes, I am a boomer already). Loki even did not kiss or stayed with anybody at the end, so what is the deal? Stop insulting each other, and stop projecting Tom and Sophia as Loki and Sylvie. Yes, it was probably only one or two cases but it is not normal. Sorry.
*Rant over*

Apparently Mystique in the comics was once given Rebecca Romijn's design from the live-action X-Men movies for only two issues...
While Marvel & DC Comics often try to emulate their respective live-action movie counterparts by making alterations to certain character's designs, powers and even personalities (such as Spidey briefly adopting organic webbing to reflect the Sam Rami Spider-Man trilogy, or Iron Man becoming more snarky and jokey to reflect Robert Downey Jr.'s performance in the MCU), sometimes said-alterations either end up not working or even lasting long...
Case in point to the latter... back in the early 2000s Marvel actually tried to have Mystique (aka, Raven Darkholme) in the X-Men comics emulate actress Rebecca Romijn's physical portrayal of the character from the live-action X-Men movies, but it quite literally only stuck around for just a single issue! Specifically in X-Men: Forever (2000) #6 by Fabian Nicieza & Kevin Maguire, both Mystique & Toad were exposed to some kind of radiation device while teaming-up with various X-Men members, and in the process had both their mutant powers and physical appearances significantly altered to more heavily resemble their live-action counter-parts. Toad was given his elongated tongue (which he originally lacked during the Silver Age and solely had the leaping abilities), whereas Mystique was obviously given her naked scaly reptilian appearance from the movies as her new "default" form.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This issue came out in April 2001.
However a little over one-year-later in July 2002 when Mystique appeared in Uncanny X-Men (1963) #405 by Joe Casey & Sean Phillips, Mystique was suddenly back in her normal comic book appearance without any explanation. In fact, the only other time the scaly-reptilian design reappeared in comics was in a nightmare sequence from X-Treme X-Men (2001) #33 by Chris Claremont & Igor Kordey from October 2003, wherein a villain named the Reverent caused Rogue to suffer a vision wherein she transforming into her adoptive mother in both appearance and personality and sadistically slaughtering her fellow-teammates Bishop, Storm & Gambit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aside from those two examples, Marvel has never had Mystique in the comics adopt her design from the live-action X-Men movies.
Heck, the only other time Marvel tried to have Mystique emulate Rebecca Romijn's portrayal was in Wolverine #64 & #65 from 2008 as the finale to Jason Aaron & Ron Garney's awesome "Get Mystique" storyline, when in preparation for her final confrontation with Wolverine in the story's climax, Mystique utilized her shapeshifting powers to erase her clothing, fighting Logan completely naked in order to demonstrate to him that she's not a coward nor is she ashamed of herself. And even then, this time Raven lacked the reptilian-scales of her live-action movie counterpart, instead maintaining to her classic comic book design just without the white dress or skull adornments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yeah... just a weird bit of obscure trivia concerning Marvel's iconic shapeshifting femme fatale.
I wonder why Marvel suddenly ditched the live-action movie design after only introducing it for a single issue and describing it as her new "default form." I know there was a year in-between the publishing of X-Men Forever #6 and Uncanny X-Men #405, but still...

Movie Night
Pairing: Steve Harrington X Fem!Reader
Warnings: fluff. That’s about it
This imagine is set in season 3 after Nancy
Tumblr media
A/n: this was originally a different idea but I thought the full idea would be to long so I’m shorting it to two different imagines. Throughout this imagine I would constantly forget that this was set in the 1980s so I’m sorry if there’s any parts that don’t fit that time period.
——————————————————————————
-Your POV-
Throwing my backpack onto the passenger seat, I swiftly get into the driver seat shutting the door beside me.
Today has been another long day of pointless school work and spending hours in the library. Maybe you’ll use some of the stuff school brings in the future but as of right now to me it’s sort of pointless.
School has never been a problem for me. I’m one of those typical girls that gets good grades does her homework and is called a nerd by her friends. In a joking way obviously. Even since I was a kid I had As and Bs on my report cards. I take pride in it.
Me being good at school meant I was often talked about within a few teachers. One being the math teacher. She would often ask me to tutor other kids that were failing her class. It wasn’t a really big surprise when she asked me to tutor the one and only Steve Harrington.
Although I wasn’t surprised, i wasnt happy about it. I mean sure Steve Harrington any girl would jump on the opportunity to spend long periods of time with him. I wasn’t one of those girls.
I was fine having no contact with any of the popular kids. At least me and my small group of friends weren’t involved with all of the drama the popular kids brought. Which meant Steve was included in that.
Of course I agreed to being his tutor because I wanted to be nice. After countless hours of me and him studying together wether it was at the library, his house, or my house I started to actually like him. At first it was more of a friend type of ‘like’ but the more we talked and the more we hung out the more that ‘like’ started to change into a crush. I couldn’t help it. You can’t choose who you start to like and if you can your not doing it right.
After that school year ended and summer came we started hanging out at least twice a week. From the first time we hung out outside of school and outside of tutoring I knew he was my best friend. That summer was the summer before both of our lives changed with the whole upside down, eleven, bad men, demogorgon, and mind flayer stuff.
My driveway came into full view as I slowly pull in putting my car in park switching off the engine. I grab my bag from off the seat before opening my car door. The door swings shut behind me as I start for the front door pulling out my house key.
My parents weren’t gonna be home till later tonight. They went to visit my aunt who lives on the other side of Hawkins. They insisted that I stay home. How nice of them right?.
I shut the front door hearing the small click of it closing all the way. I let out a long exaggerated sigh dropping my bag down beside the door. I stretch out my slightly sore limbs flinching at the sudden sound of the phone ringing.
Regaining my composure I walk over to the phone picking it up before pressing it to my left ear. “Hello?” I say speaking softly into the phone. “Hey n/n” Steve’s voice comes through the phone bringing a smile to my face.
I love his voice
“Hey Steve” I chuckle messing around with the phone wire that is attached to the wall. “I was wondering-” Steve starts nervousness lacing his tone taking a small breath. “If you would want to come to my house to have a movie night” he finishes seemingly holding in a breath. He’s never been nervous talking to me so I don’t really know why he’s being like this all of a sudden.
It’s cute
“Yeah of course” I pause hearing him slightly sigh in relief. “I’ll be over in 5 ish” I say taking a quick glance at the clock. 7:23 pm. “Okay see you then” Steve says. The line starts to make a small static sound signaling that he hung up. I could practically hear the smile on his face when I said yes.
I place the phone back on the wall grabbing my keys before heading out. I make sure to close and lock the front door before once again getting into my car. Slight nervousness flows through me as my stomach starts to flip. In a good way that is.
My crush on him has only gotten stronger since the time I admitted to myself I liked him.
After a few minutes of driving I pull up to his house admiring its huge structure. I will never get used to his house.
Putting my car in park and shutting it off i walk up to his house shoving my keys into my pants pocket. I knock two times on the door letting him know that I was there. Only a few seconds later Steve opens the door with a smile on his face.
“Hi” I smile playing with my keys that are still in my pocket. After a short period of silence Steve speaks up “Hi come in, come in” He says opening the door a bit wider so I could walk in. He seemed lost in thought.
“Why thank you kind sir” I say stepping into his house looking around as if I’ve never been there before. The door clicks behind me catching my attention. “Still not used to my house are you?” Steve asks walking up next to me. “Nope”. I slightly say under my breath enough for him to hear it. “I don’t think ill ever get used to it” I chuckle walking towards his living room.
I hear him chuckle behind me as I enter his living room. A big smile forms on my face seeing f/m on the tv waiting to be played. The couch has pillows and blankets everywhere along with a bowl of popcorn and two drinks on the end table.
“Wow you really out did yourself Steve” I smile my eyes slightly wide at how amazing this was. “You trying to impress me?” I ask chuckling at my very bad attempt at flirting. “Always” Steve responds walking in front of me before plopping himself down on the couch. I laugh with a bright smile etched into my face making Steve slyly wink at me.
Walking over to the couch i plop myself Down as well making sure I don’t land on him in the process. I adjust myself so I’m comfortable having at least one pillow under me and a blanket draped over my lower half.
I look over to him seeing that he’s already looking at me. “I love this movie” I smile looking towards the tv. “I know that’s why I picked it” he says. (So awkward my god 😂)
I feel the couch shift under me making me turn my head to look in his direction. He reaches towards the end table grabbing the bowl of popcorn before turning back to me “want some?” He asks slightly shoving the bowl towards me. “Sure” I say taking the bowl from him. He once again reaches towards the end table picking up his drink. He then gets up walking up to the tv pressing play.
The movie starts to play gaining my full attention. I take a small handful of popcorn popping a few into my mouth. The taste of butter and a bit of salt fills my mouth. Suddenly the lights go out making me confused.
“It’s not a Movie Night if the lights are on” Steve says directly behind me. I slightly jump in surprise not even realizing he left the couch. He chuckles behind me walking around to where he previously was on the couch making himself comfortable once again.
“No it wouldn’t” I say smiling to myself. Tbh I didn’t know why I was smiling but I was. Maybe it was becuase of the fact that I was having a movie night with my crush/best friend Steve Harrington.
I point the popcorn bowl towards his body him gladly accepting it. He shoves some popcorn in his mouth before throwing a few pieces at me. “Jokes on you im gonna eat those” I chuckle picking up the pieces he threw at me before placing them in my mouth. He laughs eating more popcorn.
I turn back to the movie noticing that it’s almost a quarter of the way done. Time flys when your having fun. The couch shifts again me not really paying attention to it until I feel a warm presence press up against me. Slightly wide eyed I look over to see Steve slightly cuddled up next to me intently staring at the tv eating the popcorn.
Butterfly’s swarm in my stomach making me smile. Me and Steve have hung out many times but we never cuddled or did anything like this. Being honest I’ve never been cuddled nor cuddled someone in my life. I’ve only ever had one boyfriend and that didn’t end well. He dumped me about a week into dating. It was also in the 7th grade.
This feeling was nice. Especially since it was with Steve. Deciding to play along i smile cuddling up into him leaning my head on top of his shoulder. I feel his shoulders slightly tense up at my action. The shock that hit him goes away making his shoulders relax. He leans into my touch still watching the movie.
My eyes start to feel heavy the more I watch the movie and the more comfortable I feel. I let my eyes close feeling the warmth of his body running through me.
I wouldn’t rather be anywhere but where I am right now next to the man I’ve always loved.
——————————————————————————
A/n: sorry about my terrible writing. If anyone has my tips please leave them in the comments it would be very much appreciated. The next part to this will be titled Late Night Swim. It isn’t posted yet but I promise it will be posted soon. Hope you liked the imagine!

The Pitch Pt. 2
All right, the idea's in my head now, I can't stop thinking about it, so here's the sequel to my original pitch for a Beast movie/series.
70s/The Beast
All right, so we start off with a brief recap of the original movie/series, and then we go on to the Ghost in the Graveyard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's - hard. It's rough. Hank is obviously depressed, and Edna and Norton, who return from the previous series, are intensely concerned. He just seems to sleep a lot. He seems scared of himself. Tremulous. He refuses to take off his bandages. He wanders through the streets of his hometown, alone. Tottering. Falling over, often.
He visits Jennifer. Perhaps she doesn't originally remember him, perhaps she's afraid, but then he says something. He holds her hand, and it breaks the Professor's wiping of her memories. They both feel as though they've lost something they'll never, ever get back.
Tumblr media
I can't post the entire comic, but, I want it adapted wholesale. It's so solemn and tragic and soft. But it ties up a lot of threads the original series set up.
Tumblr media
Jen seems desperate to pick him up, but it's not working. Nothing is. Eventually, Hank works up the courage to pull at a bandage, and we get our first shot of what he looks like. He, unlike every other element in the scene, is rotoscoped. He looks unnatural, like he doesn't fit. Jen is momentarily terrified, but then she sees enough of Hank that she knows it's him.
Tumblr media
But he can't. He just can't. He runs. He runs so very far away.
Tumblr media
We transition out.
Then we pick right back up where we left off at the end of the first series, pretty much. Hank's getting settled in to his new apartment, and we're very much in standard drama mode - the only hints that this has ANYTHING to do with superheroics is the picture of the X-Men that Hank puts on his bedside drawer, and a brief glimpse of his old red and black costume before it gets shoved into the bottom of a closet or under his bed.
Hank settles in to sleep, and all he can think of is the Brand Corporation. All he can think of is work, is science, is making the world better, one advancement at a time. He very clearly can't wait to get started.
Smash cut to the next day, where it becomes very clear that this is Hank's first job, and while he's not being treated badly per se by everyone at Brand, it's very much an experience for him, especially when he runs into Dr. Carl Maddicks. He was clearly expecting something a lot more quietly intellectual, more like a university, everyone working in harmony towards a common goal.
Brand is not that.
Tumblr media
Linda here is our love interest, but even though she seems almost reminiscent of Jen (smart, blonde, assertive), she feels distinctly closed off and colder. But maybe she's just flirting? Hank's no great shakes with the ladies yet, but the audience feels like something's amiss, even if Hank clearly doesn't.
Tumblr media
Tension builds between Hank and Maddicks, and Hank finds himself getting angry - a kind of angry he doesn't feel like he's known before. A kind of angry that makes him want to wring Maddicks' neck, and we get a few shots of our Hank actor with a slightly altered face, larger fangs - still very much human! Still absolutely human! But just. Uncanny. A little odd. A sort of mania starts to consume him. It might just be the kind of thing that becomes obvious in rewatch, but it's there.
And then.
Tumblr media
Pregnant pauses. Music kicks in, but instead of a solid celebratory suite, there's a twinge of darkness to it. An energy that feels just a bit wrong.
Hank runs through the halls, eager to tell everyone, but it's late. Most everyone has gone home. He deflates. Why isn't anyone around to celebrate his success? As he turns to go back to his lab, he hears a murmuring voice, and it becomes clear he very much isn't alone in the Brand labs.
Tumblr media
Hank runs back to his lab. His heart is pounding. He's forgotten to turn on the lights, but that's all right, there's enough yellow lighting pouring in from the windows. He's thinking. There's not a single word of dialogue. The audience needs to be wondering just what in the hell Hank is thinking. There's no thoughts, there's no inner monologue, just a sort of processing, excited, thoughtful, nervous.
He turns to look at the hormonal extract.
Light flashes across the beaker, catching his eyes. Yellow, beaming through his pupils and the glass of the clear, innocuous looking extract.
He strides over with purpose.
He picks it up, and he doesn't just drink it, he chugs it.
What the fuck are you doing, Hank, asks the audience.
Tumblr media
And this is where things get wild. We switch formats. We are no longer live action. Or rather, we are - but we're rotoscoped. Just like how Hank was in the opening section, but now EVERYTHING looks like that.
Tumblr media
Our entire perception of the world changes, and we're plunged into a different world. Sound blankets out, colours explode, Hank just seems to disappear. First person view. The lab is there, we blink, suddenly it's destroyed. We blink again, we're outside. There's a ringing in our ears (granted, adjusted so as to be accessible and not trigger anyone). We stop, turn, look, wild. Ringing thing on the wall. We rip it out. But there's still a sound in our ears. Rhythmic. Ticking?
We're trapped in hyper-reality. This isn't just real, it's almost too real. We can taste the sounds, we can hear the feelings, we can touch the smells. We feel strange, off kilter. We blink. We're outside, it's raining. We glance down. We're grey, furry.
Tumblr media
Where are we? Why are we here?
Was there something we were meant to do?
There's a man. We hit him. We don't kill him, but our hands twitch as if we - no. Our heartbeat is pumping in our ears. It's rhythmic, just so many BPM, thump-thump-thump. We seem to be moving without thinking, on instinct, guided by some purpose we don't know, don't remember, don't understand. We're scouring the labs, and then we find him.
Maddicks.
Colours flare, the ticking grows more pronounced, music begins to grow more lush, stronger, almost sultry, even as it becomes darker and more intense. We fight. We feel strong. We feel powerful, heroic, driven. We feel free.
Tumblr media
We wrap our hands around Maddicks' throat. It feels so good to see him struggle, and stop, the thumping in our ears is growing heavier, louder, in time with the music - but then our fingers move, and we see the claws, we see the furry fingers, we see the monsters we've become, we see the man we're about to murder, we pull back in shock -
And suddenly we break away from first person back to third.
We zoom out from the Beast's eyes, and take in the absolute carnage of the lab.
Tumblr media
Normal colours return, normal sights and sounds and feeling seep back in - and the heartbeat we've been hearing gives way to the ticking of a clock.
Oh, no.
Slowly, the Beast's eyes turn to the nearest clock, and we see it's been exactly an hour. Hank's voice sounds out. At first, we imagine it's what Hank was actually thinking, but then it gets more mocking, cruel, guttural.
'I'll only have an hour, an hour to make sure Maddicks doesn't get his hands on my research - but an hour should be plenty.
An hour should be plenty.
An hour should be plenty.'
The Beast slowly looks down at himself, increasingly horrified, and he backs up. He looks at the carnage he's wrought, at the men barely breathing, at doors hanging off hinges, at claw marks gouged inches deep into concrete. Sound bleeds out, save for heavy, panicky breathing that just gets more and more intense, on the verge of sobs, and then -
Crisp, clean, Transatlantic accent. Think 1940s movie star, but a little uncertain. Concerned. Heroic, though.
"Pal, I think you have some explaining to do."
Tumblr media
Enter Wonder Man, the hero/villain of our story. Maybe we can establish he's a new member of the Avengers earlier on in the show/movie, with Hank watching a television broadcast of them announcing their new roster? He was on a small set, but the red coat is distinctive enough that you know. Enough that that you see him, and you see the scene that the Beast has created, and you know that the Beast is in trouble.
But Wonder Man's the hero in this equation. The rotoscoping is so intense on him, he's just bathed in this energy, but it's bright, and it's warm in this cold, dark place. We see him, and we feel reassured. He tries to reason with the Beast. It's clear he's not a man who relishes a fight. He brings up his hands, tries to be soothing, even as the Beast acts like . . . well. A cornered Beast. All it takes is a glance at a broken window, and he's gone, out, like a shot. Wide shot of him clearing the Brand Corporation exterior like a wild animal, and a shot of our hero slowly climbing out after him, resplendent in his red coat. He stops and seems to think.
It begins to rain, heavy, and we follow the Beast as he steals through the city at night, jumping from shadow to shadow. We start to hear more of what he was thinking when he was about to take the hormonal extract, and guess what, we're going full melodrama here, we're getting thunderstrikes in between each flash of dialogue.
" - never intended - chemical processes - don't know what happens when you mutate a mutant - I've got to take the chance - my research - I've got to - I've GOT to - "
The Beast slams a hand into a brick wall and it splinters like glass, the rain falling down him so hard we aren't sure if he's in tears or not.
"What was I trying to prove?" He slams a hand into another brick wall, growing more and more manic. "What was I trying to prove?!" He turns, and, like a whip, his fist slams into another wall. "WHAT WAS I TRYING TO PROVE?"
Tumblr media
But even as he's shuddering, cold, wet, furious, on the verge of collapsed, there's a sudden tone that we recognise from our previous series/movie - one associated with Professor Xavier. Suddenly, his voice breaks into the Beast's thoughts, and he doubles over, he instinctively fights against it.
We see flashes, of Hank initially leaving the X-Men during the fight with Unus; we see flashes of Jennifer's face, not recognising Hank; we see a vague flash of disappointment on the Professor's face as he watches Hank drive away from the X-Mansion, and Hank lashes out. This is not what he needs right now. To Hell with him. TO HELL WITH HIM!
Tumblr media
And just as soon as it's over, Hank leans heavily against the wall. "Well, I've done it now. Cut off from my friends, marooned in a strange body, I guess . . ." He collapses and hiccups. He seems so very childlike now, feeling like he's ruined his entire life after an ill-advised temper tantrum. He supposes he sort of has. "I guess this is freedom. Hooray." Because maybe they were what he needed right now, maybe - maybe that was just - he's lashing out, he's not in his right mind, did he want that? Does Hank even know what he wants?
He presses his head against the concrete, closes his eyes -
And wakes up to sunlight. It's the next day. He instinctively brings up a hand to shield himself - only for a hand to grab him, and pull him up onto his feet. Still on instinct, still panicked, still emotionally wrecked, Hank smacks the other person with a massive, furry grey mitt, and there's a smack of plastic on the floor.
"Hey, pal, those are $200 dollar sunglasses. I might have to bill you for that." But it's said without malice, it's clear Hank hasn't hurt the person. How - ?
Tumblr media
A shot that mirrors the one we had of the Beast's eyes. Is it possible our Wonder Man has been changed like Hank has? It's unlikely he was always like this, after all. But - fear. Fear governs the Beast.
The Beast panics, and we have ourselves a little donny brook.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Just pretend Simon's in his safari jacket and Hank is still grey.)
In the confusion, Hank scarpers, and he makes it back to his apartment. Now, more than ever, he's convinced that he's ruined everything - he's attacked an Avenger, destroyed his lab, nearly killed Maddicks, he's ruined his entire life.
Tumblr media
He ruins his apartment, and he sits there, crying. It takes him a while, and we fade out, back in to night - that night? Days later? Judging by all the food everywhere, we can't be sure. Hank's watching TV, but not really watching. Time passes. We aren't sure how much. Hank's just staring, but after a while, he reaches out and grabs a phone. We fade back out on it ringing out.
A soft, silent smash cut of the Ghost in the Graveyard section, making it clear that took place here. We pick back up on Hank stowing away on a train car back to New York, sneaking back to his apartment. His fur is starting to turn from grey to blue, in patches. He puts down a box full of - something, we don't initially see. He takes a deep breath.
Tumblr media
As he works, we get a shot of his TV. The Avengers are holding a tryout. We assume he's remaking himself as he was, for that.
Tumblr media
But then, Hank wakes up in the middle of the night, and . . . for the first time in a long time, he smiles. He goes back to his box of make-up. He throws the Hank McCoy mask on the floor. The audience is confused.
The next day, Avengers tryouts.
Tumblr media
We thought Hank was going to go as himself, but he wasn't. He went as a joke, and then as his completely blue self. He doesn't need Hank McCoy anymore - or rather, he doesn't need who Hank McCoy was. I feel like it'd be really funny meta-commentary if, instead of Edward G. Robinson, Hank goes as Nicholas Hoult or Kelsey Grammer, whichever one is funnier and in better taste.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hank aces the tryout, but we end on him giving back Simon his sunglasses. "I hear they're worth $200." Simon grins, and Hank grins back. Let's be real, it's more than a little gay.
We end on Hank as a triumphant Avenger. Warm, confident, comfortable in his skin. Unlike the entire rest of the show/movie, it's animated, completely animated, but with the same voice cast. Hank is larger than life now. He's a character, but he's a character he likes.
Tumblr media
Also, it's very, very, very gay.
Why yes, the entire thing is kind of a trans/gay metaphor and Hank is afraid of his obvious feelings for Simon, how did you guess? I was so subtle!

Hello. Other anon inspired me to come out of the shadows as well to send an ask. Love your blog and scogan stuff. Thank you for posting ❤
I was wondering if you had any recommendations on where to start in the comics concerning Scott and just the x men in general? I enjoy the movies, but I want to know more about him via the comics. I feel it would help me write him better in fanfic (also give me more scenarios to write him in lol!). Also could you suggest ones where he interacts with certain members like Logan, Jean, Ororo, Warren, etc? I feel like that would help write better scogan and his other relationships better as well.
Apologies if this a big ask! Comics come be pretty nerve-wracking to get into (especially when their are bad writers involved and you don't know to avoid them).....
Thank you so much!!!
First of all anon thank you so very much for reaching out! You have no idea how much this warms my heart to see people asking about Scogan as a lot of the time fandom can be pretty quiet so thank you for your kind words! I'm so happy that you enjoy the content on here. My archive is full of Scogan goodies from the movies, comics, etc. and if you ever want to look around at some of it in some down time, you can look directly by going here and it will direct you to everything I have tagged Scogan (warning it's a lot lol)
That being said in terms of comics obviously I can see how it is just overwhelming in general. These are in no particular order as I'm going off the top of my head on this, but they are worth reading if you are looking for Cyclops related stuff.
Tumblr media
The recs I'll give you under the cut here:
Cyclops/Scott related comics: X-Men Origins: Cyclops (2010) This is a one shot that gives you a brief overview of Scott's life leading up to him arriving at the school with Charles. Various comics have kind of changed around his story every now and then, but I think this is a nice one shot to get you started on seeing a glimpse of young Scott.
X-Men: First Class (2007) I personally haven't read this one in full although I have seen panels from it, but it centers around the original first class crew (Scott, Jean, Warren, Hank, Bobby) and it seems to be a comic people enjoy. It would give you a glimpse of the team dynamics in the early years and how they interacted with one another.
All New X-Men (2012?) by Bendis. Now I'm not going to lie this one is a mixed bag for me because I absolutely hate a lot of what goes on in this time period, but the reason why I mention it is because adult version of Hank has basically decided to get revenge on adult version of Scott for the events leading up to Schism/AvX (more on that later) so he comes up with a brilliant plan to bring the teenage versions of the X-Men into the future to I guess see what they adult versions have done. I personally feel like he did it to be a jerk and torture Scott, but in the same breath it does establish time displayed teenage Scott learning about the future ahead of him in leading into the Cyclops solo below where he goes on space adventures with his estranged dad, which given that he's a kid out of time you may need to read this one to understand why Scott from the past is hanging out in the future.
Cyclops (2014) teenage Scott gets to hang around with his space pirate dad and bond. It's fun, probably doesn't stick as it goes on in canon since eventually (spolier alert) the teens get sent back to their time to right the wrongs that took place, but at least it gives Scott the opportunity to spend time with his dad and live a little more than he did at the school with Charles.
X-Men: Marvels Snapshots Vol 1 1 This one is a one shot that really just features a young Scott who idolizes and finds hope in admiring Reed Richards. It's a great read and gives you a glimpse into young Scott's mind again to really explore his teenage years for a snapshot if you will.
Scott/Logan related recs: Let me preface this by saying I will not get to cover everything, but some of these are great with some memorable moments with Scott as a leader with his team and him and Logan doing what they do best working together: Astonishing X-Men (by Joss Whedon) While I know Joss Whedon has a lot of problematic things going on, this comic was my very FIRST comic I picked up and I'm so glad I did. It's a great display of Scott as a leader. He's with Emma Frost at this point in time in a romance, but the team dynamics and the story really showcase how good Scott can be when he's running the show and taking his team to victory. This is a really good comic and there's a lot of snark, banter, superhero costumes and more. I enjoyed this run and it was my first introduction to Scott/Emma (which I was glad it happened here because I might have felt differently had I seen the origin of it first, but thankfully it's a good comic with action/adventure and Scott being a bad ass in leading his team. Prelude to Schism: Now let me start this by saying that I absolutely HATE, HATE, HATE what Marvel did in Schism (which a lot of people dub Scott and Logan's divorce arc), but...to deny that there is a silver lining in some of these subtle moments in the calm before the storm would be a shame. It's a mini-series where it explores the dynamic of Scott's relationship with those closest to him from Charles, to Magneto, to Emma and Logan. It's a really good read and you get some great Scott/Logan moments in it. They were so solid together by the time this mini was over that you should've known they were going to wind up in a bad place in the not so distant future. X-Men Schism (aka the bitter divorce that was so out of character for Logan it hurts) This series really makes me want to scream at Logan. I love him, but it felt like a cash grab to split the team into two so they could sell two different comics with Logan leading one team and Scott leading the other, which of course they did, but for all it's faults the very first issue of this with Scott and Logan is WONDERFUL. You really get a sense of what they are to each other and it's really good with Logan being there for Scott in what he needs to do. It rapidly goes down hill as they reach a breaking point, but that first issue...it's pretty good. A lot of people would recommend the Dark Phoenix saga as well as that's the big one they do and mess up in the films, but that's entirely up to you. I have much more to say, but I'll have to put it in another post since I write too much lol (To be continued here...)

Note
Charles Xavier, Jack Dalton and Kyle Spencer for the character ask!
ooh thank you! let's see here...
First Impression:
Charles: I grew up on the original X-Men movies, so I saw him as a very cool-headed and mature leader for the X-Men, and a good fit to lead the team in difficult situations
Jack: I thought he was funny, and I liked his relationship with Mac. And being big on 70's and 80's rock, I liked his taste in music
Kyle: HOT. Like holy shit. And majorly unappreciated.
Impression Now:
Charles: I still think he makes for a good leader, but after becoming more well-versed in the world of X-Men I can also see how he's headstrong, stubborn, and a little holier-than-thou at times. Though honestly, I appreciate being able to see those flaws. It proves he's a well-rounded and imperfect character.
Jack: My opinion hasn't changed that much, but I definitely have a greater appreciation for his relationship with Mac. He really acts as a wonderful father figure and their relationship is integral to the show. I love the later seasons but they're not quite the same.
Kyle: There's a lot more dimension to his character than the show wants to focus on! Before his death, he's a genuinely kind, goodhearted, and charismatic person. And I'm incredibly annoyed at what they did with him after his death, using him as a plaything for Zoe and Madison when he's clearly uncomfortable with... well, all of it. Man deserved better.
Favorite Moment
Charles: I'm partial to X-Men: Apocalypse myself, and I really like his mind-battle with Apocalypse towards the end and how it leads into Jean Grey embracing her powers. Plus, I love the scene in First Class when they're rounding up all the team.
Jack: in the episode where they go to Chernobyl, Jack starts complaining about the radiation and makes jokes that they'll all develop superpowers. In particular he turns to Mac and goes, "Mac, you'll develop telekinesis. You're practically Professor X already" (and Mac looks confused but you can SEE Lucas trying not to crack a smile). Laughed. Out. Loud. It might be my favorite joke in the whole show.
Kyle: He doesn't get that many moments of his own since he's unfortunately just used to complicate the relationship between Zoe and Madison, but I like the flashback to the tattoo shop and how he realizes he's been put back together. It takes a really heartwarming scene of him goofing off with his frat brothers and turns it into something genuinely horrifying and heartbreaking, and really shows us more of Kyle's view on what's been done to him.
Idea for a Story:
Charles: So obviously we get a lot of origin stories for the other X-Men (Children of the Atom baby!!) but I think it would be neat to get a little more detail in his early days of his mutation, before he grew comfortable with it. I'm sure there's a comic out there that does this, but I haven't stumbled across it yet.
Jack: I get that George Eads had to leave the show and that was how they closed out his plotline, but I'd really like to see Jack's perspective on his time overseas, away from the rest of the team.
Kyle: Uh... Heartstrings.
Unpopular Opinion:
Charles: he doesn't know when to step back. He pushes his students so hard in accepting and managing their mutations, and it usually does help, but it's a very forceful tactic that contributes to as many problems as it does solutions. He's not a perfect leader and shouldn't be treated as such, that's the essence of his character.
Jack: he's really not appreciated the way he should be. He works well as the comic relief, but he's a lot more than just that. He's a great father figure to both Mac and Riley, and his presence really holds the team together. No Jack Dalton slander in this house, thank you.
Kyle: his relationship with Zoe is NOT wholesome. She blew it out of proportion after one night of flirting, and it results in her dragging him around and treating him as less than human most of the time after he comes back. She acts like he exists only to love her, and when it becomes too much to handle, she avoids the problem rather than helping him. He deserves so much better than her.
Favorite Relationship:
Charles: Cherik all the way babyyyy. Though I also really like his long-standing friendship with Hank, it's a really important dynamic that's present in every iteration of the team.
Jack: I really liked the dynamic he has with Riley, actually. He steps in as a father figure and supports her even through her conflicts with her own father, and really shows her the unconditional love and support that she didn't get in her childhood.
Kyle: pass. I like him as a character but he doesn't have any canon relationships that I like, he's treated as an object by everyone around him. This is the main thing I tried to remedy in Heartstrings, giving him a relationship that was genuinely built on mutual respect and care.
Favorite Headcanon:
Charles: does Cherik count as a headcanon? it's basically canon. Aside from that, I hc that he gets chronic migraines from suppressing the presence of so many other minds. This is most prevalent when there are a lot of students at the X-Mansion, since there are so many thoughts to wrangle, but he cares too much about them to make a fuss over it.
Jack: he's learned a thing or two from Mac. He can't quite piece it together on the fly fast enough to use it in the field, but his house is a spectacle of redneck engineering.
Kyle: he tried out for wrestling in high school but dropped out before the season was over because he was afraid of hurting someone. I feel like it just makes his post-death anger and violence issues more heartbreaking, since he tries so hard to be gentle in his first life.

Dust Watched: Bakuten!! Movie
Genres: Sports (Men’s Rhythmic Gymnastics), SoL // 1 movie (1h30m) // S01 (x)
A redemption. We love to see it.
✧  story  ✧
I was, I believe, one of the few people who actually didn’t like the original “Bakuten!!” anime very much. So I was more than ecstatic watching this movie, as basically all of my complaints have been remedied and we got a really nice finale(?) for the show.
The story picks up where the last one left off, a bit before the Inter High Championship. There’s some training and goofing around but red flags are popping up all over the place. Sure enough, when the group was about to give its performance at the Inter High, I checked the time and we were only 20 minutes into the movie. Oof.
A domino falls, and many more follow. The anime’s mood goes into a slow uncomfortable, tense, and depressing downward spiral as nothing seems to be going right. An emotional confrontation where everything just comes to the surface, kickstarts the events that stop our descent into Depression Valley and we get to enjoy the journey of the ascent; the characters finally coming to terms with their situation and feelings, ending us off with a fun final performance. Great pacing all in all.
✧  characters  ✧
I complained a lot about the characters of the senpais due to them feeling like one-gag characters who couldn’t get a second to be *actual* fully fleshed out characters because they had to upkeep a quota of saying a joke X times an episode. And while their goofy ahh designs I’m still not a fan of, this movie GREATLY dialed back the gags which helped a lot. This was essential too, with how character-centric this movie was. The greatest character development obviously goes to Watari, who has the seniority and becomes the new captain with the 3 eldest leaving to start studying for their Entrance Exams. He has no idea what to do and feels horrible about it. Futaba is conflicted and scared while Misato is just silently bottling up his emotions, leading to an incredibly stressful environment. Misato actually barely talks for the first half of the movie so I was kinda concerned that now that his talent isn’t in the spotlight, the story won’t know what to do with him but I was wrong- He is great in the secon half.
And of course, the BasedTM Shiro High members make their (pretty important) appearance too, which was my favourite part from the original season to begin with, so I was happy beyond words.
✧  art  ✧
The movie carries the same quality as the original although with a few... interesting artistic liberties taken. I only wish they had fewer cuts during the performances cause I couldn’t keep track of what was going on.
✧  sound ✧
Again, the music is not my style but goes well with the show and I don’t remember what my problem was with Futaba’s VA in S01 but he must’ve worked it out cause all the VA’s did a great job.
✧  overview ✧
While I quite enjoyed this movie, there was something more that I wanted to congratulate it on. In one scene, Futaba mentions what a shame it is that there’s “no future in Men’s Rhythmic Gymnastics” as you can’t go pro or to the Olympics. This prompted me to look up some info on the sport and read an article that gave me a much greater understanding on the goal of this show.
Not only is what Futaba says true, the sport basically only exists in Japan where it has some ties to Martial Arts.
All sports anime have those “oh no, the senpais are going to College/University, and they might not continue doing the sport” arc but in this case, it hurts more because they don’t quite have a choice. And yet the ending of the anime feels hopeful. That even ifnot in this generation, or the next, but someday, kids will be able to look at Men’s Rhythmic Gymnastics as a viable career.
This show is a love letter to the sport. And I’m sure the creators are hoping for a future in reality the like of what they’ve set-up in the movie.
My Rating: 8/10

Michael in the Mainstream: The 30 Best Comic Book Superhero Movies (And the 10 Worst)
Tumblr media
People who follow my blog know that I love superhero movies. It’s not really subtle, I constantly argue that some of them have a lot of artistic merit and are fine pieces of cinema. But I also hate them, because some of them are so formulaic, bland, and unimpressive that I almost want to say that Scorecese is right after all. It’s kind of the same boat people who love comics books are in from what I’ve seen, where they love and hate them in equal measure. I just want these films to try, you know?
But there are some that try, and I want to celebrate those. Here’s my opinion on what the thirty best of this oversaturated genre are. Not all of these films are created equally obviously, and some of them have their flaws, but these are the thirty I think best exemplify the genre and that I would hold up as genuine art, because I think each of them offers something valuable to cinema, be it great entertainment, some sort of interesting character study, or just plain camp.
I’m also going to tell you the ten comic book movies I think are genuine garbage, though. This genre has problems, big ones, and these exemplify those problems better than anything.
Just keep in mind, while I am trying my best to be as objective as possible, there’s definitely still some bias here. This is my opinion, not a definitive list, and you can agree or disagree all you want. Hell, you have a film you want to make a case for, let me know; I might do an “Honorable Mentions” addition to this, because there were some things I had to cut off.
30. Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Tumblr media
Is it overly long and could have been trimmed a bit? Yes. Is it a bit self-indulgent? Sure. Was there any reason to make us watch Jared Leto play the Joker again? Absolutely not. But even with its issues this is still one of the most impressive events in cinematic history, where the internet bullied a movie studio into letting a director actually finish his movie. That it’s actually a pretty good movie is really just the cherry on top here. Pretty amazing that letting Cyborg be a character, having the team actually synergize in the final fight, and giving the villain a real motivation makes for a better viewing experience than cringey interactions with Russian kids, huh?
29. Venom
Tumblr media
There had to be at least one awesomely trashy film on the list, and it couldn’t really be anything but this. As much as I love the sequel for being wackier, stupider, and more homoerotic than this one (no easy feat, mind you), it’s hard to deny how well the original set the trashy early-2000s superhero schlock tone that Sony’s cinematic universe is sticking with. Between Tom Hardy’s off-the-walls dual performance as Eddie Brock and Venom and the awesomely cheesy Eminem rap song the film ends on, it’s hard not to love it.
28. Wonder Woman
Tumblr media
This may not technically be the first female-led comic book superhero movie, but it does have the honor of being the first one not to suck. While the grand finale does shoot the message of “no one person is responsible for a war” in the foot to indulge in CGI nonsense, the rest of the movie is a showcase of why it’s a crime Wondy only got her big screen debut in the 2010s.
27. Iron Man
Tumblr media
Here it is, the one that started it all. I think the fact this movie kind of shows its age is a good thing; it feels less bloated and intricately connected to a giant universe than a lot of later films do, and instead focuses on the story and characters. Tony Stark truly was the role of a lifetime for RDJ, and with it he redeemed one of the most despised heroes (this was right after Civil War) as well as himself.
26. X-Men: Days of Future Past
Tumblr media
The X-Men timeline has always been a disastrous mess, so why not make a movie that revolves all around fixing it? This film is, in essence, the grand finale of the X-Men universe, with a plot revolving around stopping the iconic Sentinels and ending with everyone in a better place. It’s a shame they kept pushing onward after this, because the main films after this one just couldn’t recapture the glory this film had… though that’s certainly not a problem exclusive to this franchise. Nothing can ever take away from how good Quicksilver’s run is, though.
25. Aquaman
Tumblr media
Weird, wacky, inventive, colorful… Sure there are some stupid moments, corny dialogue, and shoehorned villains (did we really need to have Black Manta be a jobber?) but overall this is a fun and exciting oceanic adventure with a charismatic lead, a fun main villain, and a complete embracing of weird comic book trappings. If you still think Aquaman is lame after watching him end a sea war with the help of a kaiju voiced by Julie Andrews, that’s on you.
24. Avengers: Endgame
Tumblr media
Endgame’s biggest flaw is that it feels less like a film in its own right and more like an event. But that’s also why it’s so great; this is what ten years of buildup SHOULD feel like. While not everything is wrapped up in a neat little bow, there are so many satisfying conclusions, great character interactions, and crowd-pleasing moments that it more than makes up for the flaws. Maybe it is the equivalent of an amusement park ride, but if it is it’s the best ride in the park.
23. X2: X-Men United
Tumblr media
The first X-Men movie was okay, but this is where the franchise made like Wolverine and really showed its claws. Upping the action and putting Logan front and center as he is forced to confront his past, the main X-Men franchise never got better than this. Special shout out to Alan Cumming’s show-stealing portrayal of Nightcrawler, who kicks the movie off with arguably its best action set piece.
22. Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox
Tumblr media
If you can get past how everyone is built like a character from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, you’ll find one of the best animated movies DC has produced. Hell, it’s so good that Flashpoint’s writer prefers it—probably thanks to how this is a lot more focused and streamlined than a big event in a comic book would be.
21. Joker
Tumblr media
This is definitely a movie that wears its love of Scorcese on its sleeve, right down to casting long-time Marty muse De Niro in a major role. But even if you’ve seen some of this before, Joker still manages to impress thanks to a stellar performance from Joaquin Phoenix as the titular clown. Phoenix really carries the movie on his back, and if you ask me he pulls off a better and more nuanced Joker than Ledger did.
20. Kick-Ass
Tumblr media
A rather unconventional comic book movie to be sure, but it manages to do something absolutely astounding: It makes Mark “The Unfunnies” Millar’s depressing and edgy original comic into something earnest, uplifting, and positive. Perhaps the best thing about it is that it was the big breakthrough for  Chloë Grace Moretz, who gets to play a foul-mouthed preteen who brutalizes thugs and has great chemistry with her onscreen dad (played by Nicolas Cage). It’s fun, it’s violent, and it manages to say something in the end. Now if only the sequel could have kept that energy.
19. Batman
Tumblr media
Tim Burton’s original outing with the Caped Crusader is rightfully respected as one of the all-time classics, and you’re not going to hear me say anything bad about the performances of Jack Nicholson or Michael Keaton. I will say that at worst it just doesn’t measure up to its sequel, but really, few Batman movies do. The fact remains this is perhaps one of the single most important and influential works in the Batman mythos; we probably wouldn’t have the animated series or the Arkham games without this laying down the blueprint for a great Batman story.
18. Watchmen
Tumblr media
Sure, Zack Snyder misses the point of Alan Moore’s magnum opus pretty hard in a lot of places. But I think I can overlook that when this slavishly faithful film is able to bring to life the characters of the comic so vividly, especially Rorschach with his pitch-perfect portrayal by Jackie Earle Haley. Unlike a lot of Snyder’s other overly-long films, this movie’s ass-numbing Director’s Cut length feels genuinely warranted, especially since there’s really never a dull moment in it.
17. Shazam!
Tumblr media
The future really is in the hands of children. Sure, this movie is goofy and definitely geared towards kids... but the titular hero is literally a child in a grown man’s body. The whole thing is sort of like Big crossed with Superman, and it’s lighthearted fun that’s not afraid to get dark and serious when it needs to be. There’s a really earnest corniness to it that manages to make it one of the rare gems in DC’s cinematic universe.
16. Thor: Ragnarok
Tumblr media
Let me be frank: Thor absolutely sucked before Taika Waititi got ahold of him. Thor was a bland slab of meat with little personality beyond “hammer” and his movies were some of the least interesting in the MCU. Waititi managed to took what was essentially a blank canvas and paint a wacky galactic buddy comedy that knows when to be funny and knows when to put a brake on the jokes to get serious (for the most part). And while this is most definitely Thor’s movie, it’s nice that Mark Ruffalo finally gets a chance to truly shine again as Hulk for the first time since The Avengers.
15. Deadpool
Tumblr media
Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool, plain and simple. There is such a fantastic understanding of the character on display here, a character who in the wrong hands it could be easy to screw up. But it is abundantly clear from the word go that Reynolds loves Wade Wilson, and while the comedy may not be to everyone’s taste it will definitely sate the hunger of Deadpool fans. The sequel may be bigger and flashier, but this movie is tighter, fresher, and you get to see Gina Carano get her ass kicked.
14. Spider-Man: No Way Home
Tumblr media
This movie has its fair share of problems, and in some manners it feels like an Endgame-level spectacle more than a movie. But by god, seeing all three cinematic Peters together on screen bantering with each other... It’s really a dream come true. This movie’s greatest feat isn’t even pulling off the most ambitious superhero crossover ever in a way that doesn’t rob Holland’s Spidey of the spotlight; no, its greatest trick is showing everyone once and for all that if Andrew Garfield had better writing we would all acknowledge him as the perfect Spider-Man. They not only do Garfield justice, they completely redeem him and let him steal the show right from under Maguire (an impressive feat). And if that’s not enough, Willem Dafoe’s Norman Osborn is here to remind you when it comes to comic book villains, he’s still the GOAT; the Goblin might be the most evil villain to grace the MCU, and he’s only used sparingly! This is the last MCU movie that truly felt great, and if this is the best it will ever be again, at least it hit the highest high before falling very low.
13. Blade
Tumblr media
In a time where comic book movies were not well respected by audiences, Wesley Snipes came along and reminded us all the genre could be cool again. It also showed, yes, people will watch and love a superhero film with a black lead, something studios seemed to forget for twenty years. Mahershala Ali has some really big shoes to fill, because even all these years later it’s hard to deny this trailblazing movie kicks major ass.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy
Tumblr media
James Gunn’s first superhero outing to make the list is a triumphant tale of the most motley crew of A-holes you’ve ever seen coming together and learning to give a shit. This is found family at its finest, and it actually manages to utilize Chris Pratt well (something every non-Marvel action movie that hired him didn’t do).
11. The Dark Knight
Tumblr media
This is the Citizen Kane off superhero movies in every sense. It’s a fantastic movie, incredibly influential, practically perfect with something for everyone… but it’s also treated like a gold standard for Batman stories despite its refusal to engage with comic book elements people love about Batman. There’s really not much I can say that’s bad about the film, especially not the performance of the late Heath Ledger, but I’m not gonna pretend this is the definitive Batman, either.
10. Batman: Under the Red Hood
Tumblr media
This might be one of the darkest, saddest Batman stories ever—and thus one of the best. It’s hard to believe the dude from Supernatural could make you shed a tear or two, but Jason Todd’s heartwrenching confrontation with Batman in the finale is nothing short of tragic in the best way. As far as animated Batman movies go, this one is hard to beat.
9. Avengers: Infinity War
Tumblr media
While this is still a massive crossover like its sequel, this feels like an actual movie as opposed to glorious fanservice and spectacle. It finally gives overarching villain Thanos his due, letting his story take the stage and giving Josh Brolin the chance to finally flex his skills. We get tons of fun team ups and character interactions, and it never really feels like anyone is completely shafted for time. And then there’s the ending, which is one of the most impressive downer endings ever seen. This is the MCU’s Empire Strikes Back, which is why it’s no surprise its sequel couldn’t quite measure up.
8. Batman Returns
Tumblr media
Burton’s second spin with the Dark Knight is better, bloodier, and battier than the original. The cast is absolutely stacked here, with Keaton’s Batman having to go up against Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman, Danny DeVito’s Penguin, and Christopher Walker’s Max Schreck, and everyone is killing it in their roles. And despite the grim plot, Burton still had the class to put in kamikaze penguins.
7. Spider-Man
Tumblr media
There’s a beautifully earnest corniness to Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man movie. It’s so fun and goofy while still managing to interject a bit of drama into the proceedings, and most importantly Raimi’s style never feels smothered under executive mandate like a couple of his other superhero movies do.
6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Tumblr media
Gunn pulled out all the stops for his interstellar found family sequel. The soundtrack is leagues better than the first film’s (Fleetwood Mac is on it so this is a given), with the songs tying perfectly into every scene; the family aspect is played up for all it’s worth, with the importance of a family being something of choice explicitly highlighted; fan-favorite minor characters Yondu and Nebula get expanded roles, with the former getting one of the coolest scenes in the movie; and best of all, the film gets a truly compelling antagonist in Kurt Russell’s Ego, one of the best villains in the MCU. It’s going to be a tall order for Gunn to top this with his third run with the Guardians, that’s for sure.
5. Logan
Tumblr media
I don’t think it’s even close when it comes to X-Mem films; this is the best, no contest. Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman give the best performances of their characters ever for their big farewell, and newcomer Dafne Keen makes her mark as Logan’s daughter. It’s a modern day Western with superpowers, and it’s a shame that they couldn’t just let the franchise go out with this highest of high notes.
4. The Suicide Squad
Tumblr media
The Guardians movies are fantastic and they definitely don’t feel like Gunn’s style is hampered entirely by the ratings of the films, but imagine what he could do without any restrictions. Well, when Gunn decided to soft reboot the much-maligned Suicide Squad, we didn’t have to imagine any longer; his Troma-pedigree is on full display here, mixed perfectly with the heartfelt elements that made his Guardians movies so good. There’s not a bad performance in the house, with Margot Robbie firmly establishing she IS Harley Quinn (if you still doubted) and John Cena doing so well he earned his own spinoff. Gunn simply revels in the comic book weirdness, the cartoonish gore, and the genuine emotions of this most dysfunctional of fire-forged friends. And this goes without saying, but the soundtrack rules.
3. Spider-Man 2
Tumblr media
Raimi wasn’t in the realm of messing around with this film. While it is rightfully lauded as one of the greatest action films ever, none of the fighting would matter if there wasn’t compelling drama at this film’s core. Peter’s trials and tribulations as he struggles to come to terms with what it means to be a real hero is every bit as important to this film as the epic battle on a train Spidey gets into with Doc Ock. This film has heart, it has soul, it has Alfred Molina’s tits… What more could you ask for?
2. The Batman
Tumblr media
I’ve never been happier to be wrong in my life than with this film. I expected it to be a grounded, gritty pseudo-Nolan film divorced from comic book fun and solely carried by Pattinson’s performance. What I got was a film that, while grounded, was not afraid to be a bit campy. Batman hang glides off a building in a goofy glider suit, Riddler makes Saw traps and his own personalized greeting cards, and Penguin is basically a living cartoon character. This is, quite simply, everything you could want from a live-action Batman movie.
1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Tumblr media
What can I say about this movie that hasn’t already been said a million times before? This movie isn’t just proof animation deserves to be respected as an art form, it’s proof superhero movies do too. It is legitimately one of the most visually clever, well-written, funny, heartfelt, emotional, and fun films ever made, paying respect to the Raimi films (as it should) while still carving out its own identity. Miles may very well be the best Spider-Man ever, and his melancholy mentor Peter B. Parker has the trues essence of good ol’ Pete. Using Kingpin as a villain and making him the most huge and wide character possible was fantastic, and the different styles the other Spideys have is pretty unique. I have my gripes, sure, but this is still the best superhero movie ever as well as probably the best animated movie ever.
But hey, enough talking about good movies! Here are the worst superhero movies I could find. And I’m not talking so bad it’s good or just mediocre; Suicide Squad and Green Lantern are not on here for that very reason. I’m talking movies that, whatever qualities they might have, just can’t be redeemed.
The Bottom 10 Superhero Movies
10. Catwoman
Tumblr media
I think it’s sad this movie is so low on the list, but mostly because this is the oldest film on here. You mean to tell me that after they dropped this cat turd they just kept making awful superhero movies? This film wastes the talents of Halle Berry, is completely divorced from its source material, and rips off Ben Affleck’s Daredevil of all things and yet it’s somehow the least awful movie on this list? Be afraid. Be very afraid.
9. X-Men: Apocalypse
Tumblr media
Look, I love Quicksilver’s run through the X-Men mansion as much as anyone, but it doesn’t change the fact this movie is filled with the worst aspects of the franchise cranked up to 11. It wastes a great actor playing an iconic villain by removing what makes that villain great, it’s so bloated with new characters barely anyone gets the screentime they deserve, characters are unceremoniously killed off and forgotten, Wolverine is shoehorned in for no reason, and worst of all we get a Scott/Jean romance again. Of course, the worst part is Jennifer Lawrence phoning in her performance while everyone else is at least trying to act. It’s sad to see so much promise wasted like this.
8. Iron Man 2
Tumblr media
This film was dark foreshadowing of all the problems that would plague the MCU. It’s overstuffed, it’s full of cringeworthy humor, the villains are bland and underdeveloped (save for the GOAT Justin Hammer)… The film is trying to juggle way too much and it succeeds at far too little. At least it gave us the MCU debut of Don Cheadle and the aforementioned Hammer, or it’d definitely be higher.
7. Josstice League
Tumblr media
In a vacuum, this is a campy, so bad it’s good superhero disaster. There’s actually a few good scenes the notorious Joss Whedon added in, too. But it’s hard to look at this as anything other than a despicable piece of garbage after the behind-the-scenes drama came out. The fact Whedon cut out or minimized the POC characters, the fact he kept in cringey rape and “falling into boob” jokes, the fact he seems to have went with the worst takes for many scenes that are way better in Snyder’s version… Even ignoring the infamous mustache debacle, this film reeks of deliberate sabotage and it makes one really consider that maybe it wasn’t the execs who were behind Age of Ultron’s myriad of problems. Maybe Whedon just sucks.
6. Thor: The Dark World
Tumblr media
The first Thor was an uneven first step for the character, but surely he could improve with a sequel, right? Wrong. This is the single most abysmal film in the MCU, with its generic doomsday villain and its obnoxious attempts at humor. It is no wonder literally everyone involved, from the stars to the director, hated working on this film. And hey, guess who did an uncredited rewrite on the movie? Joss Whedon.
5. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Tumblr media
I think out of all the films on this list, this one has the most going for it. It has excellent casting for the two titular heroes, it has decent concepts for a plot, it even has some pretty good action scenes here and there. But none of that really makes up for how frustratingly stupid the actual plot is, the obnoxious shoehorned sequel bait, the idiotic actions the characters constantly take, and the pathetic and juvenile reimagining of Lex Luthor. Look, I’ve talked about this film so many times already, everyone has. This film, more than anything, makes me angry, because this should be the greatest comic book movie ever. Instead, it’s an uneven mess that has no idea how to handle the themes its trying to utilize.
4.  The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Tumblr media
The first sequel didn’t inspire much confidence aside from the hints of a good performance from Andrew Garfield, but surely they couldn’t unleash upon us one of the most disastrous sequels imaginable? I’m all for bizarre comic book nonsense, but electric eels? Goblin blood disease? Dubstep superpowers? Long ago I came up with a term called the Sucker Punch Threshold, the point where an action movie just goes too over-the-top to suspend disbelief any longer. And this movie? It skips rope with that line. It at least has the decency to be hilariously bad, but it just feels like a really disrespectful waste of Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, and that guy from Chronicle.
3. The Killing Joke
Tumblr media
What should have been one of the greatest Batman stories ever animated is instead one of the most disgusting, uncomfortable, and downright misogynistic pieces of animation you’ll ever see. The original book is already rather controversial for its treatment of Barbara Gordon, so this movie attempts to rectify this by giving her a narrative... except that narrative involves being obsessed with Batman to a ludicrous degree and ultimately having sex with him in one of the most revolting sequences DC has ever put out (and they had Elastigirl get a jar of Lex Luthor’s piss!). And that’s just in the first half; when we finally get to the story we’re actually here for, they manage to bungle it with some truly bad creative choices like the washed-out colors in the Joker backstory flashbacks and the practically explicit implication he raped Barbara after crippling her. Not even Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy finally acting Alan Moore’s infamous story out is worth it after sitting through that abysmal first half.
2. Fantastic Four
Tumblr media
What’s the best way to adapt the colorful and corny first family of Marvel? Why, by sucking all the joy out of them, of course! Say what you will about the Tim Story duology, but at least those films knew to have fun and charm to them. Hell, the unreleased 90s film may have the budget of whatever change the filmmakers found in their couch cushions, but it had its heart in the right place and if nothing else it got the characters. This film? Literally nothing is right. They turn Ben Grimm’s iconic catchphrase into a harbinger of abuse at the hands of his brother, for Christ’s sake! To say nothing about how this film handles Doom; somehow doing Doom worse than the Story films is quite the accomplishment, but this movie pulls it off. And while it’s dark in story, it’s also literally dark, with some of the worst lighting you will ever see in a comic book movie. Objectively speaking, I think this is probably the worst comic book movie ever made, because it totally misses the point of who it’s adapting (and it completely wastes Michael B. Jordan). But it’s only #2, and that’s because there’s one film that I think embodies everything wrong with superhero movies all at once.
1. Wonder Woman 1984
Tumblr media
The worst kind of sequel is one that makes you question if the original was even good at all, and sadly that’s what we have here. Patty Jenkins did a great job with the first film... or did she? Could she really have been capable of delivering the first genuinely good female-led superhero movie when she churned out this overly-long slog of a film where the main character pulls new powers out of her ass as the plot demands and which features our main character literally having sex with a man without consent? Gal Gadot brought Diana to life in the first film... or did she really? How could the woman who plays the character as a clueless simp who puts her need for a boyfriend above the fate of the world ever accomplish something like that? And then you add on the racist depictions of Arabs (something not helped by Gadot’s real life views on certain things in the Middle East), the embarrassing depiction of iconic Wondy villain Cheetah in a way that makes Idris Elba’s Macavity look dignified in comparison, the embarrassingly shoddy special effects that wouldn’t look out of place on SyFy, the numerous continuity issues between this and other DCEU films... About the sole bright spot here is Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord, but you can’t just cast Pedro Pascal to cover up how little effort every other aspect of your film has. This film is disgraceful, plain and simple, and Gadot and Jenkins should be ashamed of releasing this. Women deserve better superhero movies, and Wonder Woman deserves to be in better stories.

1845 Wolverine vol I
The following is inspired by the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie and the Wolverine Origin comic. There seemed to be a consensus that the war montage was the best part of the movie, so in the It's All Connected universe each war segment is at least a big portion of a Wolverine movie, if not the movie itself. And so...we begin with James Howlett's traumatic transformation into Wolverine.
James Howlett (13 year old Hugh Jackman)
Dawson Logan (17 year old Liev Schreiber)
Rose (Of an age with Victor, actor tbc)
Act I
James is sickly, but likes to horse around with Dawg (nickname, from Dawson) who is the son of the groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. He also befriends Rose, an orphan, trainee housekeeper and companion for James. They all become fast friends as they grow.
Thomas keeps Dawg in line with violence his whole life.
Dawg talks about running away and says James and Rose should go with him. They'd be free. But James loves his family and is too sickly anyway. And Rose doesn't want to leave James. Dawg is a little hurt by this.
Thomas has been drinking more and more because he is harbouring a secret. He marched up to the house with a rifle and Dawg in tow telling his dad to calm down. His dad threatens him with violence, you can't hurt me anymore, remember Dad. He finds Rose and forces her to let him in the servants entrance. Dawg is adamantly opposed to his involving Rose and gets physical with his father so Thomas knocks him out.
James witnesses the confrontation and murder of the man he thought of as his father (John Howlett) by his biological father (Thomas Logan). Dawg rushes in trying to stop his dad.
Thomas kills John.
James's mutation is activated by anxiety as his biological father approaches, causing his boneclaws to emerge for the first time. James kills Thomas Logan (accidentally?).
Then (from the wiki)...'After Thomas died, (Elizabeth Howlett), horrified by James' mutation, cast her son out by calling him a freak as she questioned James as to what he was. Confused about what was happening to him, James flees (freezes in my version, Rose helps him flee and they run into the woods, with Dawg following behind them). After running away, Victor (still Dawg in my version) who was also a mutant with healing powers like James, caught up and overtook James. Victor (Dawg) said that they were brothers and vowed to stick together and that they would look after each other no matter what, eventually leading them to a life of rage and violence. As Victor (Dawg) was truly his own family, as they shared a father, James started going by the name "Logan"'
Dawg says 'somebody has to look out for my little brother' (even though they are actually half brothers) at some point. He obviously didn't care for his violent father.
They choose new names, Dawg becomes Victor Creed and James just takes the family name of his biological father, Logan, and they run to the middle of nowhere. Rose keeps the name Rose because she doesn't think they'll be looking for her.
Montage detailing how they survive in the wilds for a time, Vic and Logan going wild hunting, and how they eventually need money.
Act II
A few years later Victor and Rose have found employment but Logan has never found anything permanent.
Vic has become a horseman. Logan tries it and is no good at it. He tries several times and actually dies temporarily after being trampled, so Vic advises him to try something else.
Rose has gained steady employment in a mine, so he goes to seek work there.
He becomes a barrow boy, then a miner where his resilience and tenacity serve him well. Despite still physically being a teenager he can swing his pickaxe all day with just a few seconds of rest here and there. The foreman, Smitty(actor tbc), takes him under his wing, giving him a new job involving dynamite. But pathetic Cookie (actor tbc), the boss's former favourite, is jealous and bullies him. Logan goes wilderness hunting on his own, bringing the spoils back to camp. All in a montage.
Cookie secretly shortens the dynamite fuses to kill Logan, but he survives and saves a miner's kid and Smitty likes him even more.
Logan sees Smitty talking to Rose about leaving and needing money for the farm she wanted. He realises they've been in a secret relationship and is jealous.
Angry, Logan signs up for a fighting competition and his first opponent is Cookie. Logan still isn't strong like Vic, so he takes a beating but keeps getting up and slowly wears Cookie down then absolutely pummels him in the last few rounds, stopping the fight, struggling to resist the urge to pop the claws. His next opponent is Smitty, who needs the money to leave with Rose. The fight goes the same way, but Logan lets him win as he thinks he is a monster and Rose will be happy with Smitty.
Rose and Smitty leave, naming Logan as the new foreman.
He had been getting used to his new family unit and feels betrayed by them so refuses, wandering off into the wilderness, Rose calling after him.
Logan now hunts and fights for money.
Under Vic's tutelage, Logan becomes a good fighter and makes extra money off of it.
They learn that Vic (Dawson Logan) has been blamed for the murder of his father and the kidnap of James Howlett.
Act III
American Civil War (1861-1865) then follows Logan and Victor in the civil war. Vic and Logan kick ass. Logan finds all the death difficult, Vic is nonchalant.
They rescue Smitty's unit and fight alongside them. Smitty is killed. Logan receives Smitty's letter from Rose where she wonders and worries about James, obviously having shared the secret with Smitty.
He writes a letter back. He commiserates with Rose about Smitty in the letter, but tells her that James Howlett is dead.
Logan and Vic age around 1 year for every 10 calendar years. If Logan is 13 at the start of the movie, he would look 14/15 when war breaks out.
mid or post credits: Nathaniel Essex (actor tbc...Luke Evans?) finds En Nur Sabah's tomb after searching for years.

After the Sun #7: The Buff X-Ray Technician
Before I fully dive into this story (cause it’s a doozy and the highlight for the end of 2022), I was told that some friends of friends are sill reading this blog (I’m pretty public about my dating life amongst people I know. So feel free to relish or pass this blog onto someone who needs some real life entertainment, LOL). I know one of them wanna hang, so girl, I told C that I am down, just let me know! Otherwise I might just add you on IG very soon if the man doesn’t connect us, just sayin’ LOL. [We have connected whilst I was in the middle of typing this blog post. :D ] Okay, we are friends nowwwww LOL :D
Anywho, back to this guy #7, the X-Ray Technician, who was HELLA fit. Like, husky, weightlifts 200 lbs type fit (is that a lot in the world of weight-lifting? I just started but I have no idea).
When I originally matched with him, I knew that he was shorter than me by a couple of inches but decided to give him a shot anyway. Especially after dating Mr. Sunshine for 4.5 months, I have opened up my mind up just a bit to shorter men. Obviously I will not go for someone who is 5′5, but, 5′8 I would be willing now compared to over a year ago. (And technically, Mr. Sunshine was around 5′7 despite his claims of being 5′8, cause it said so on his health card. But sometimes the height on your health card is wrong. No matter, the man may have been short but he was masculine and confident, which made him sexy and why I dated him for as long as I did).
First Date
When I was messaging the X-Ray, I was on my way home from my part-time job. He mentioned he was free and offered to meet up if I haven’t left the city yet. At the time I was at Bloor station and he messaged just on time for me to turn back around. Since I had the time, I thought why not knock out a first date? It was also at the end of August, so the weather was still nice enough to hang outside and I wanted to relish in it.
He came up to me and I was like, hm, not sure about this one but let’s see how the date goes. We sat down at a local pub and had some food. As time went on, I became more and more attracted to him. I think it was a mix of banter, ease of conversation and him just overall becoming more attractive to me physically. I normally was not into guys with beard but, hey, I always end up liking someone quite different from the last guy cause no physical type here really LOL. (Though apparently I was told I do have a specific type now LOL). He did have a nice half sleeve *eyes emoji*. I personally was never crazy about guys with tattoos before until Mr. Sunshine. He also had a half sleeve and now after that experience, any man with a sexy half or full sleeve, or even a connecting chest piece to arm, you can sign me uppppp.
Anywho, I knew by the end of the first date I wanted the man. LOL. Sooooo...
Second Date
Our second date happened shortly after where he took me to axe throwing. It was quite fun and honestly, activities for a date are only really enjoyable if you like that person. *cough*NewRealtor*cough*
Towards the end, the employee asked if we wanted a photo together. I was hesitant but then went, why not. He was the FIRST DATE I’ve ever had a photo taken with. I only previously had photos taken with my ex-partners. Even I didn’t have a photo together with Mr. Sunshine.
After, he asked what I wanted to do. I suggested checking out his area. *eyes emoji* And let’s say he was very surprised by my suggestion LOL. We definitely went back to his area LOL.
Third Date
I liked him a lot by the end of the second date, clearly. Especially when we had a LOT of chemistry in the bedroom. I was eager to see him again. Mind you, all of these dates were happening almost back-to-back because I happened to be free and was going with the flow of things.
For our second date, I took him out to watch Bullet Train (which is now part of my top 10 favourite movies of all times. I went first time with my sister. The fact I paid to see it again, it was WORTH it). During the movies, he kept turning to me and thanking me for bringing him to such a great movie. He even continuously gave me kisses, and I reciprocated happily. I thought everything was going swell! Afterwards we went back to his place and to enjoy the rest of the night together.
Fourth Date
I think I mentioned in previous blog posts that the fourth date normally makes it, or breaks it. I barely gone beyond four dates except for a couple of times since my first ex. There was the dude that made me left to Australia back in 2018 where we had either five or six dates and I think the one Accountant Aussie I went out it whilst in Melbourne). Asides from those two, anyone that went beyond four dates were either men that became my boyfriends or we dated exclusively (but unofficially).
How many surpassed 4 dates? Exactly 4: He Who Shall Not Be Named (first ex), Ex-Actor, Crazy Rich Asian Ex, and Mr. Sunshine. The Bull, technically I think we saw each other 6 times buttt the situation was unique cause he was in an open relationship so I don’t count him.
I was a little worried about this fourth date because of the repeating patterns of my dating experiences. Of course though, things were seemingly good so I tried to put that out of my mind.
We decided to go hiking. Hiking was also a date activity I always wanted to do but never had a chance to with any previous partners or dates. On the drive there, he told me a story after I told him about experiences where I saw men that would go to such LENGTHS for certain girls that they were infatuated with. The next thing I realized, he started to share with me his dating experience about a girl he was head over heels for last year (2021 in this case).
- X-Ray Tech’s Dating Story -
In 2021, he was swiping and came across a girl that he found attractive. After swiping her, he found out that she was from the U.S. One of the M states, like Michigan or Massachusetts or Maine. She was going to move to Toronto within a couple of months because she’s an actress that was trying to break into the scene here. (Nothing big, minor background roles, no talking roles from my understanding). Somehow, this man became INFATUATED with her. They didn’t meet whilst she was in the U.S., of course. But prior to her leaving to Toronto, she needed a place to stay for a month. X-Ray ended up paying for her AirBnB for A MONTH.
I exasperated asked, “Why???” in our convo and he said he thought she “would pay him back.” I didn’t think so and after telling my guy friend the story, my friend laughed and said, “Yeah, no, the man knew he wasn’t getting any money back. He was just a sucker.”
Shortly after the AirBnB situation, she moved up to Toronto. Apparently the organization that she was a part of did not find her a place to stay at yet. So what did he do? He decided to move her into his place! Mind you, up until this point they have only Facetimed but he was head over heels for her. He didn’t even live in Toronto, but out in bloody frikkin Aurora.
He told me, when it was high, it was so high with her. But when it was low, they were basically fighting and at each other’s throats. They never defined their relationship but rather stayed in this weird situationship dynamic for four months. Yes, FOR FOUR MONTHS SHE LIVED WITH HIM.
The house though was not his, but his mother’s. However she was living with her partner and he got to live at home rent-free of course. But one day when X-Ray’s mom came over, she realized that this random girl was living there. She asked him who she was and technically she wasn’t his girlfriend or anything close. So his mom told him to get rent from her since it was costing her money to house another person.
So of course he went to the girl and told her she needed to start paying rent. She outright refused. Instead, she packed up and moved out because apparently she had a place ready for her by her organization.
But their contact didn’t stop there. Oh no. She would call him to ask him to pick her up from one part of town, to drop her all the way on the other side of town (almost an hour drive on the highway). He asked her why, and she would tell him she missed him.
“Then can I see you after your event?” he asked in earnest (well, I assume in earnest).
“No,” she said.
...The man did not pick her up and dropped her off, but he did pick up the phone twice cause she made the request two separate times! LIKE SERIOUSLY.
- End of X-Ray Tech’s Dating Story -
Once we got out of the car, the story above was very much burned into my dating archives. I knew mentally that this was a story I was gonna share with everyone if this date didn’t work out (newsflash, clearly we didn’t considering it’s going all up on this blog LOL).
We had a pleasant hike. We were flirty and fun, poked fun at each other and genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. Well, at least that was what it felt like to me. During this date, I felt so relax and got to be truly me. I thought this man understood me.
After the hike, he took me to a local ice cream shop and bought me ice cream and chocolates. It was super cute and I just don’t get guys doing that for me that often (beyond your usual first date dinners of course). We sat at the trunk of his car, with our feet dangling off on the side as we enjoyed our ice creams for the last summer days. It was a really sweet moment.
He told me that his cousin was moving from their home country to Canada to go to school in Toronto. Therefore he was going to be busy for a bit because his cousin’s English was not fluent and he wanted to help his cousin get his documents in order for the school year. He told me after the date, he was going to go home and clean up the place.
I offered to join him to help him clean up his space, because I genuinely wanted to help. He refused multiple times because I kept offering.
At some point in the date, probably before this point, I don’t recall when, he told me, “You know, I feel that you are doing so much for me and I don’t deserve it.” He went on to mention the little things I have done, which he had notice. Such as making sure that he got to work on time for our first date when he was in between shifts. I immediately clocked this casual mention in my mind. When he said that I was doing a lot for him, I knew it was bad news. If you haven’t dated a lot or listened to as many dating podcasts and TikTok videos as much as I have, you’d probably think that was so sweet of him to notice.
Anywho, I did want sex but decided to hold it off for next time because he wasn’t going to let me help him and I thought it was best I went home instead.
Post Fourth Date
Over the next few days, we continued to chat as normal. X-Ray was very responsive and we basically could text all day, and I would hear back from him in less than an hour.
I thought everything was dandy.
Almost a week has passed and I hit him with a, “I’m available these days!” since I wanted to start scheduling our fifth date.
He told me he worked those shifts. I went back and asked if the following week seemed good. He said he didn’t know.
“So I’m not gonna see you anytime soon? :’(” I texted.
And few minutes later I saw some dreaded words. “Hey, I think you’re an amazing person...”
You can imagine how the rest went.
It was like someone crushed all my hopes in an instant.
Remember how I always say, the fourth date is always the make it or break it stage? Welp, this was another one for the books.
I told him okay and left it at that.
However, I couldn’t stop ruminating over why it all ended. It didn’t make sense to me. I have gone out with so many men over the years, I knew it when a guy didn’t like me. But this was the first time I had barely any indication he was not interested, minus the fact that he prep his busy excuse ahead of time. But because he told me far in advance, I thought it was more than reasonable.
Everything he did up until then indicated he was interested. Even the day before, he told me that he switched gyms and got a free guest pass and told me that I could join him! I didn’t even ask!!
There were also a couple of times where he kept reassuring me that he wasn’t seeing anyone else because he didn’t have enough time. I didn’t ask if he was seeing other people either! I even went on a date with someone else in between that time because I wanted to make sure not to overly invest in the guy.
I didn’t understand what was going on so I caved and messaged him the next day asking what the heck has happened. It didn’t make sense to me that someone that was overly affectionate in the last couple of dates suddenly was not interested. Even at the end of the date, I didn’t feel anything has changed.
“I won’t bother you again after this but, what happened?” I texted him.
Long story short, he wrote something along the lines of, “I’m not sure. I thought that if I acted like I liked you, that eventually it would happen. I did not feel that spark.”
Now that was a slap in my face. I never had someone tried to fake it until they make it. That absolutely made no sense to me. Why in the world would you pretend to like someone in hopes that feelings will develop? If you are unsure, just act normally and see if anything changes. Don’t pretend!
I was peeved, I did give him a bit of a chew out and he was apologetic. I wanted to rage on him but I knew nothing was going to change.
It took me 3-4 days to get over it. Which was a long time in my books. However, I was temporarily scarred. Completely jaded. I had to wrap up the last couple of guys I was talking to and took a three month break. To be honest, I wanted to take a year long break but Matthew Hussey told me otherwise in 2023. But of course before I dive into 2023, we still have some 2022 stories to go... And maybe a wrap-up/lessons post before 2023 stories?
